Review Persian Bakery - Pune

Ianspired Life
It's situated close to where the Kalyani nagar Metro stop is coming up, so it is a but hard to locate and get to especially if you are coming from Kalyani Nagar towards the Aga Khan Bridge. The rum ball was not as wet as I would have liked. The chocolate was thick and quite sticky making it necessary to really chew it down. The lemon tart was a let down. The lemon curd was not fluffy rather stiff and artificial tasting. I found its texture grainy and lacking authentic lemon flavor. The tart pastry was delicious. The blueberry tart was heavenly. I would highly recommend it. The chocolate tart was also good. The eclair was another letdown. Instead of Custard they filled it with frosting. The size is also unreasonably large; it barely fits into your mouth.

The finest pastries and cookies in Pune (and Mumbai too!). I make it a point take several packets of their Shrewsbury biscuits for my relatives in London, who insist for it as an entrance fee 😄 to their place. I once ordered a strawberry short cake with fresh cream on short notice, and, they made an absolutely fabulous one with the freshest of REAL cream I have ever tasted! Normally cakes with cream tend taste synthetic because additives are added to make it last and stay in shape … this was not so here! At the party where I took the cake, all of it was eaten up in a matter of minutes with people wanting more!! Bijan is a master pastry chef at the bakery and his attention to details as well as passion for all things baking shows through in how well he understands his customer needs.

Love! Love ! Love….. simply delicious bakery and confectionery goodies. Finger licking blueberry cheesecake, Ferrero Rocher cake, chocolate truffle cake, rum balls, Hyderabadi biscuits and the list goes on and on…. Very reasonable prices and great portions…. I am sold to be a dedicated customer for life. My suitcase is always full of “ Persian bakery goodies “ for friends and family .

Excellent recent experience with ordering a cake from Mumbai for my colleague in Pune. The cake was very good but what was even better is the service - from taking the order to delivering it precisely on time for the occassion. Thank you guys for the customer delight that's so hard to come these days...

This was a hidden gem found in Kalyani Nagar. Unlike the big brands which soothe only the eyes with satisfaction, the cakes outta this lil joint both satisfies the eyes as well the tongue. This must have been my 6th or 7th ferrero roscher cake in one year and it has always been spot on. It doesnt see the light of the next day. The mix is right with quality ingredients and a moist sponge. Personally this is the best joint i have found N every since i choose not to go to the big names. While ur here, must tries: lemon tart, choco tart, take any cake u like. All deliver.

Persian Bakery is one of the best and oldest bakeries in town. The Kalyani Nagar outlet is a newer one, the original is located in MG Road.
It is known as the primary supplier of breads to most Irani cafes across the city.
Persian bakery has a huge variety of products, and some great healthy snacking options. Their products are extremely fresh and yum!
Their breads and burger buns are to die for. Their multigrain bread especially is one of the best I've ever had. Their tiny burger buns are an extremely popular and super cute delicacy! The crackers here are also well-seasoned and crunchy.

Would suggest visiting in the morning as many of their products are sold out by the evening.

The cake was really good and fresh. The plum cake is the best I have ever had, it has the perfect blend which a plum cake should have, the cupcakes were really moist and tasty.

I've been here few times. This bakery serves yummy cakes, cupcakes, tarts and many other bakery items. It has a good variety of bakery items.

We were served by Vijan, also the owner of this place. I have never met a more polite and helpful person. Encouraged us to taste everything, even getting us freshly baked butter khari still warm from the back of the shop! We tried several cookies and biscuits, and loved every single one. The menu on Zomato is not at all reflective of all the amazing options available. Particularly, the Shrewsbury biscuit and the Makhani stood out as delicious. There were also several varieties of breads, cakes and pastries on offer, which we did not try, but looked appetizing.
Most importantly, and I know I've already said this, the demeanor of Vijan really made us feel comfortable and made this visit a very enjoyable experience.

The Christmas rum plum cake was amazing! A must try! Also the I’d recommend the Chocolate cupcakes and the Nutella cupcakes were good too.

The ferrero rocher cake is something you should really go to the bakery for! A must must try! Show stopper for every event. Also the Nutella cupcakes are amazing.

This is my favourite bakery. I love the white bread n Lemon tarts.

Quick service n friendly attendents. They have their main outlet in Camp area n I m thankful that they have a branch here in Kalyani Nagar.

Also try their Plum cakes during the Christmas season. Thank you so much Persian Bakery for your hospitality since years.

Just okayish for a quick bite. I tried chocolate truffle and eclair and was not very impressed. They do have quick snacks like puffs. Cookies and other stuff looks good. You might want to try it before you make a big purchase.

I believe this is one of the most under rated bakeries in this locality, the muffin and black forest mousse were simply amazing.

Chocolate truffle cake was really amazing and a must try.

They dont allow card swipe less than 200rs also they dont have paytm system so you have to buy atlest of 200rs minimum for cashless and shop keeper has no clue about why 200 minimum. except these foods are good.

They have freshly baked items and quite worth the price, that you wouldn't find normally! Love the gingerbread cookies, the pita and lavashh chips! Must try the lemon tart too

Not sure why the camp branch isn't mentioned on Zomato but I've been to both the Kolsa Galli and Kalyani Nagar Branch - The Pita bread is super to make thin crust pizzas. They also have this healthy variety of bread (can't recall the name) and cheese puffs and lavash (to go with hummus) are the best!!!

A small humble-looking shop in the fortaleza complex line. The owner's seem welcoming and friendly.
Stuff I've tried till now :-
》The pizza base, ladi pavs and some of the breads. Bakery items are almost always fresh and really value-for-money.
》Pastries- The choco truffle and the classic black forest. They were good but I've had better for the same or lesser price :^)
A BIG plus for vegetarians - they've got a lot of eggless items.
Worth a try ✌

I never knew about this place, just while hunting for birthday cake happen to visit Persian Bakery. Bakery is small in size but was moved with the food items on display, so many varieties of cookies, khara and etc. The owners are warm and welcoming. They had good cakes, cupcakes and also delicious puffs. Taste is good parking is available and convinent location. They thave in-house ovens, smell of baking was very aromatic. Will surely visit for bakery products.

Oh! These cookies, how they satisfy my sweet-tooth!!
Try their Hyderabad Cookies and their Bazil Nut Cookies. The Rum Cake is equally good.

The Persian Bakery at Fortaleza in Kalyani Nagar is frequented by many in the neighbourhood and several cars with devoted customers stop by to stock up on their large variety of breads, burger buns and savoury snacks. Despite the name, no specialty Persian baked delicacies are offered. The owner is also not Persian but I gathered that his ancestors came from there and their pictures take pride of place in the photographs displayed. A larger and older branch of this bakery is in the Camp area.

The chocolate éclairs and the nut cake which resembles a Hungarian Dobos torte are two of his most popular baked items and sell like hot cakes. A banana nut éclair is the newest addition and as I am partial to the fruit, I decided to sample it. It was luscious! Banana and nuts - caramelized nirvana! Plain whipped cream sandwiched the two choux cylinders. I would have added a dash of vanilla to the cream so that it could compliment the topping even further.

The nut cake beckoned but I couldn't eat another bite. Next time!
So what do I love from Persian Bakery.. Their already famous chocolate eclairs. Yep!
This is definitely their sleeper hit.

I have a huge sweet tooth and looking at these bad boys sitting at the counter, I cannot resist myself but parcel and savor the softness of the choux pastry, the lightness of the cream and the chocolate glaze all along and alone after my workout. Yes, guilty as charged, I have done the cardinal sin.

The eclairs are very different than what I've had earlier. The ones I've had are hard to chew the choux! Or the whipped cream is split and spoilt. Either of them have always made me question why would they make it in the first place if they cannot perfect the pastry!

Persian bakery is of course an heirloom in irani bakeries in pune and highly regarded. Having said that they do not disappoint on their chocolate eclair neither on their tea time savory treats.

It's become a ritual , now that it's so close by, to go to Persian bakery and restock our tea time treats. The bakery in kalyani nagar is small but loaded with their signatures.

Treats we pick up :
Butter khari, they are so fresh, that you can feel that it has just been out of the oven puffed, cooled and packed for u. You can taste the flakiness when you have it with your tea or solo.

Palmiers is another favorite of mine. It's a puff pastry shaped like an entwined heart dotted with granulated sugar. It acts like a great snacker. Very indulgent as well.

White bread wrapped in paper. That's the best way I could describe this particular bread. You ask why? Cause the taste of this particular bread alone is addictive. It's has a very unique 'wooden oven baked' flavor, which in itself lends such a character. Me and my sister have finished loaves and loaves of this bread.

Their biscuits aren't such a good spend here. I'd rather buy them from our legend in biscuits.

All in all, you definitely will not be burning a whole in your pocket with stocking up for high tea, if I may!

The chocolate eclairs, the cream rolls and the savouries are excellent! We recommend the chicken mayo rolls. The pricing is very very reasonable. The sponge cake isn't as good as the one at Kayani, but on the whole an excellent new place.

Excellent service and pocket friendly. I tried their ten grain bread and it is damn good it is commendable that they are offering everything at reasonable price and i wish they continue to do so.

Mouth-watering food. The honey-rasin biscuits are to die for!!! Excellent service and light on the pocket. amazing baked goodies in a spot-on ambiance.

Fresh bakery products at Camp rates, not Kalyani Nagar rates! A big bag of goodies, costs 250 to 300 rupees, instead of the usual 700 rupees. From the awesome Breads, to the fresh fresh puffs, and the irresistible cheese crackers to the addictive types of khari, Persian Bakery means you no longer need to travel to Camp to stock up on goodies. You must try the Shrewsbury biscuits here - lighter and with no aftertaste. 5 stars!
