It's a pretty cool and cozy place to be in, where you can hang around either with your coffee friends for a good chatter or even alone with a book. The best thing about this place is the environment its not like other cafes, where there is music playing around and you have to speak at the top of your voice to communicate with your friend(s). Here there is no music, the ambience is nice, so you can check in here with your partner for a nice little chat or with a book to enjoy along with a great cup of cappuccino. I just ordered a pizza here and its taste was good and was value for money. So in my opinion its a nice place for hanging around and is way better than Starbucks which is expensive as well as overrated.

Good service. Staff quite hep and helpful. Order takes a wee bit longer than normal (could also be that I ordered an item from the menu that was for breakfast). Clean resto. But yes rickety tables. A good place for the occasional visit but not for someone who regularly eats out. And yes the food was tasty. Try out the coffee (the normal one and cold) felt it was better than many regular 'seasoned' hang outs.

The food was yummy, and quality of it was also great. We ordered a meat pizza which the Chef (a really helpful and nice guy) recommended. Intially, I was going to go with a three star rating because it's a bit slow, but it got four stars because the Chef was honest enough to ask us not to order dessert, because he felt it wasn't up to his ideal standards on that day.

Fun, Food and Masti at Café Mestizo Operated by the Three Wise Monks and Celebrity Chef Deepu Alamchandani, Café Mestizo recently opened its doors in Pune and has been trending ever since. Mestizo is a Spanish word literally meaning "mixed" usually referring to someone who is mixed between Spanish and Native American. So Chef Deepu, who was based in Chile earlier, decided to implement the concept in his dishes as well – turning out fusion beauties that offer the best of blended cuisines. So when #TheBTeam is called for a tasting of the newly introduced items on the menu, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. Kheema Baguette [Rs. 300] – A twist on the traditional kheema pav but served with slices of baguette. Not that great of a twist IMHO but the taste was yummmmm!! #YumYum Naked Spaghetti [Rs. 210] – Spaghetti served with a hint of chili, garlic, basil and parmesan. Personally I loved this dish!! Perfect proportions of the garlic and chili for the pungent quotient while the parmesan shavings provided cheesy relief. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended Mary's Little Lamb [Rs. 310] – Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb; Mary had a little lamb and it tasted oh so delish!! Do The Cheeto Pizza [Rs. 300] – A four cheese pizza with Cheeto toppings. Looks wise I was a bit appalled at the childishness of it all however one bite and I was converted. It tasted so much better than it looked. Brought back my childhood memories instantly. And the cheesiness of the cheese can be seen in the image. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended Penne Pesto [Rs. 180] – A standard penne pasta in delicious pesto sauce. Although I am not a big fan boy of the pesto sauce, this one made me lick my plate and fork clean. [For anyone who finds that disgusting, go fork yourself!! :P] #DeliciousDelicious Chicken Biryani [Rs. 280] – Seeing this one the menu instantly made me wonder at the quality of it. No offense but after all, it is just a café which doesn’t seem to specialize in biryanis. But once again, I was made to eat humble pie [and if that pie is as finger lickin’ delicious as the biryani, I’d eat it again. And again. And again.]. Absolutely perfect biryani. Impeccably marinated and cooked meat and flawless cooking of the long grain basmati rice. You. Cannot. Miss. This. Dish. Thandai and jalebi are a classic combination and Chef Deepu has successfully managed to freak shake it. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended Pedha Freak Shake with rabdi and mawa mixed with Pedha crumbs. Sunday midday breakfast spot hunt in baner and a friend suggested Mestizo. The place has a nice spacious yet cozy feel. The staff is courteous. We didnt really order anything from the bf menu, but from all that we did, the jalapeno and cheese sticks stood out, well flavoured, although some might find it a lil spicy. They have a decent shakes and smoothies menu. We tried the mixed berry, the banana caramel (which i felt could have been a little less sweet, but yeah i dont have a sweet tooth per se) and the Mestizo blast. This last one stole the show, its a devil in an all over the jar! Not fair if i comment much on the food scene until trying out atleast one item from each section on the menu.

Been here so many times, and tried almost everything from their menu, Mybonappétit recommends this place for all of the reader who is reading this blog right now ! Café Mestizo is Operated by the Three Wise Monks and Celebrity Chef Deepu Alamchandani who was previously showing his culinary skills at Chile and had became quite a phenomenon there ! Here Chef Deepu trying to give his dishes a new kind of fusion which can definitely offer the best of two worlds in one plate ! Even the word, Mestizo also means the similar way, its a Spanish Word which says "mixed", and broader way, it is a term traditionally used in Spain and Latin America to mean a person of combined European and Amerindian descent. So this time, Café Mestizo announced their creative new menu by Chef Deepu. With the festive season just round the corner Café Mestizo has introduced some lip smacking dishes in their newly launched menu. The menu includes dishes like The Champion's Breakfast, Do The Cheeto pizza with oh so yummilicious Cheeto toppings and many more. And when Devendra and Mitali from Godwormedia, invited #TheBTeam for the tasting of the newly introduced items on the menu, we got so much excited for it. Chef Deepu and his army was there to welcome us and tell us in detail abt the whole new menu including few kickass items for this season (Oh trust me, they have a couple of items, which just cant be missed, read for a length). We had given an option of our choice to order but we prefer it the chef way! So he made us believe in his work and presented us with lots of good items one by one. So lets talk abt the food which we had ; Do The Cheeto Pizza [Rs. 300] – So this set the welcome scene for us that evening. Just by looking at it, one can definitely say, Childhood is what we seek at this very moment. A four cheese pizza with Cheeto topping, this pizza Would definitely bring back childhood memories instantly for the ones who are having it. The cheese made all the difference with Cheetos flavour. Perfect for all the kids out there and a remedy for the Parents who go miles to find the best pizza for their kids. #DoNotMissIt Mary's Little Lamb [Rs. 310] – true to its name, as we recite the old school poem, it made the punch. I liked it but yeah, given an chance spicy quotient was bit missing in it. Kheema Baguette [Rs. 300] – I have always loved Kheema and since it was here on my plate, I couldn't resist myself from having it all. Served with slices of baguette, it was right in texture. The spicy quotient could have been bit higher but nonetheless, it was a lovely dish to move on the evening with. #LovedIt Naked Spaghetti [Rs. 210] – As A whole, we all loved it. Brilliantly mixed proportions of Chilli, Garlic, parmesan and basil. The pungency of Garlic was no where and due to well kept amount of Parmesan made the entire exp of having it, as super awesome. Just dont miss it and give it a fair try to this one. #GoForIt Penne Pesto [Rs. 180] – Well, it takes a real chef to make a perfect Penne Pesto and Chef Deepu did a fair justice to it here at Cafe Mestizo. Many a place, they offer Penne Pesto but screws it so badly that one doesn't wanna go there again even. What we always seek is standard penne pasta in delicious pesto sauce, and there we go. It was so good that the plate can be wiped clean entirely by oneself just by licking it (Obviously, remember those maggi-moments!) #DoNotMissIt Chicken Biryani [Rs. 280] – "I’M HAPPY IN LIFE BECAUSE I LISTEN TO MY STOMACH, NOT MY BRAIN."For a cafe like place, we generally dont expect Biryani in the menu and to be served as one of the kickass one. It was a master-Stroke played by Chef Deepu. So perfect that ur hunger pangs will be sorted post this, so perfect biryani it was. Perfectly cooked meat and flawless cooking of the long grain basmati rice. Key factor here would be the Impeccably marinated Meat. The tri-colour theme Chutneys on the plate is making the entire dish as one beautiful saga. #JustDontMissIt Enough with food and now we're waiting for some kickass Desserts or Shakes to enhance the evening experience on a sweeter note. Considering the New trend of Freak Shakes in the town, Chef Deepu has been planning for a long time to present his elite customers a few more variants and a relief from Usual ones available in the Different Cafe's . He has came up with a new range of freak shakes which definitely trigger the right spot of our taste buds and can be termed as Fusion freak shakes. While Chef Deepu was still not sure abt the pricing of these shakes at the tasting but he made sure that all would be reasonably priced later keeping customers happy! Thandai Freak Shake - this shake is a fusion of Thandai with crushed jalebi pieces, topped with whipped cream jalebi and basil Leaf. The flavours are rich and thandai taste is prominent in the shake. Be it old generation guys or a the new ones, everybody would love this for sure. Paan flavour is what makes it more amazing. Thandai and jalebi are a classic combination and Chef Deepu has successfully managed to bring justice to it. #GoForIt Pedha Freak Shake - this shake is a fusion of Pedha Crumbs with rabdi and mawa. The Rabdi and mawa made for an interesting combination of the shake while Pedha made the entire experience more awesome. Full nostalgia while one will have a sip of it and remembering the old times when we used to have Pedha at home and just cant get enough with them. Mybonappetit loved it. Although, the sweet quotient is subject to one's taste bud, I'd like if this shake is bit more sweeter than it was. #GoForIt Salted Caramel Shake with salted popcorn - Now talking abt the new generation of freak shakes and there it is, This epic Shake is a must try here. It had a very quirky presentation with some popcorns stuck to the outside of the jar with some caramel. The innovative and Quirky way of presentation would definitely bring a surprise smile on someone's face. More like a liquid version of the salted / caramel popcorn, we all have at theatre while binging on few of the fav Feature films of our choice. So this one is a really deal-breaker here. #DoNotMissIt Café Mestizo is located at Balewadi High Street. Yes, Right here at the new most happening place of the town. This is a small but unique cafe serving nice coffee and snacks. Ambience was pleasent. Latte and Frappe were too good. Walls are decorated with creative designs and graffiti. Balewadi highstreet is obviously a happening place and cafe suits the place. We had ordered hazelnut frappe, chicken popcorn and primavera pizza !! Hazelnut frappe was too good and is a must try. My sister and I went here on a Saturday night because everything else in Balewadi High Street was very crowded. Good ambience and quick service We ordered one pasta, one pull out bread and one chai. Pasta was okay, nothing great. Pull out cheese bread was quite dry. Please dont order it. And most importantly the masala tea, I think its the worst tea I have had ever. Specially for this price. Just go here, if everything else is crowded in Its surroundings and please dont order masala chai.

#LateReview This is a small little cafe in Balewadi Highstreet. Had heard about this place from friends for a long time and finally got a chance to be here. We ordered Cheesy Fries, Butter Chicken Pizza and Hazelnut Frappe. While the menu says that the fries are topped with cheese I was disappointed as they were served separately in a bowl. I would prefer my cheesy fries to be topped with cheese instead. The butter chicken pizza was hands down the BEST. It was PERFECTION. Absolutely loved this one. Plus points for the fabulous pizza. You must've heard about Cafe Mestizo for its shakes, they are well deserved for the buzz they have got. But, the problem is that only the shakes are good. I didn't find Mac N Cheese upto the mark as it was pretty bland. Ambience is pretty classy, so that won't be a issue at all. Overall I would suggest a random hangout or a unplanned date here, nothing more than that.

It’s youth place to say! I won’t generalise but the menu and ambience says it all. I took a bite of Veg Italiano and Spaghettis. The Italiano Pizza was a huge disappointment because of the over crispy crust and sour toppings. But the Mestizo Blast wraps all things to good. My friends had it done in half a min. Impressive, right? ;-)

It's a small cafe in balewadi high Street with simple but pleasing ambience. Plus it's not very pricey. I've been there quite a lot of times. They offer a good variety in their menu. Being a cafe it still serves biryani, among which the chicken biryani is a must try. Pastas, burgers and pizza are all right but the starters are not up to the mark. Mestizo blast is my all-time favorite of all the shakes. The best part is it's whipped cream, it's very luscious. Overall a good visit every time with a reasonable outlay. This is not a fancy cafe but you will get good food here. The seatings are very close, tables were bit dirty. I ordered cheesy fries and Oreo shake. I thought cheesy fries would be dipped in cheesy sauce but instead got a small bowl of cheese sauce. I felt fries were less spicy. Even asked for salt as it was negligible. Oreo shake was superb....It was very thick and yum!!! Overall it's a descent place for snacks!!!

A cute little cafe with good food. This restaurant has 2 outlets at present, we went to the one at Baner ( on so called Balewadi High Street)The restaurant positions itself in the all day dining segment and we went for breakfast. It is cosy little cafe ( seats about 20-25) inside and there are few tables outside. We had the champion’s breakfast ( omelette, with 2 slices of bread, potato wedges, (chicken) sausages, and slices of fried tomatoes) with coffee. The stuffed omelette with mushrooms and cheese, was outstanding . Overall a satisfying meal.

Amazing food that fit your pocket even at the month end. What impressed me most is their food presentation and of course the taste. The platting was so appealing to the eyes that you wouldn't want to touch and disturb it. Coming to the menu, you will get spoil with the choices given in the menu. So much to try. Oreo shake and hazelnut frappe were bang on. Jalapeno cheesy sticks were way too yum and one thing that i have been wanting to try since so long was falafel with pita bread and I must say that I wasn't disappointed.

After quick lunch walked in to order mud pie shake, the shake was good , but wat made me angry is that, cafe still charging 18%gst on bill, even after asking the manager regarding 5% GST, he avoided answering and replied we will do it soon in coming days, I had no time to argue with manager Boz my cab was waiting outside, it's really dissapointing and unprofessional attitude by team Mestizo, to cheat customers with extra tax amount.

Went there some days ago . Very nice place . Good service . Not very good ambience . They can definitely improve on that white wall. Quite costly . They have happy hours for sandwiches in afternoon with 50% discounts . Sandwich are good . Tried mestizo blast and it was awesome . You can try their ice teas too . But must try mestizo blast . It will cost around 250 but definitely worth .

Being a fan of creatively customised thick shakes, I had the famous Mestizo Blast here. I LOVED the whipped cream dusted with cookie crumble and chocolate syrup right beneath it! ❤️ After cherishing the top layered cream, I had the milkshake which wasn't thick at all and also didn't tatse that great. Expecting it to be a really good milkshake, I was slighting disappointed in finishing my drink. Besides this, the store is small but has a pleasant ambience and is apt for hanging out with friends on a weekend. Staff was friendly and we were served well. I'm not being too negative in my review of this cafe, but it's based on my strong opinion about one of their signature beverages. It was a good first visit but not a great experience worth returning.

Location: Best location on Balewadi High Street. Easy to find and correctly placed on Gmaps. Can be easily spotted. Ambiance: Its small place with bunch of tables indoor & outdoor. I usually prefer outdoor but they only have two tables outside so we had to sit inside. Theme is Western café. Food: We only had freak shake and believe me it was the best one I ever had. I will be visiting this place more often. Service: They are helpful but quite dull.

A great place to try If you happen to be in the area. First time here and certainly won't be the last. Tried the Chicken Sandwich and a mango smoothie and both were so great in taste. The sandwich was fresh and very filling while the smoothie was refreshing. The ambience is amongst one of the best that I have ever came across while the service was quick too.

Nice cafe but can do few tweaks. I ordered Cafe Mocha and Cheese cigar baguette. The mocha had a very strong flavour but tasted just fine. The baguette tasted good but difficult to eat because of the way cheese cigars were stuffed in baguette.The pic of baguette is after I had made some adjustments. With regards to ambience it's a typical cafe ambience. The service was good. For the 2 items i ordered it cost me 437.

Ordered chicken bbq pizza, mestizo blast and nutty mocha. Pizza was really good. Mestizo blast and nutty mocha tasted similar with minute difference and both came with lots n lots of whipped cream. Felt like just one drink was enough for 2 people. It's way too heavy for just one person to finish either of the drinks alone. Ambience was good.. Service was good as well.. Can go to this place again to try other items.

Being set in comparatively small area the seating is good and the interior is beautiful. The perfectly places mirrors make the place looks big. The menu is exquisite. The burger and the pizzas being the normal menu everywhere are served very good here. The coffee and the shakes are delicious.

Cafe Mestizo was not our original stop when we went to High Street. But as I was craving coffee and the other restaurant had none, we ended up here. It was a good thing! This is a small place that could seat maybe ~20 people. But it is a cute place. Our coffees were nicely done and strong! We ordered chicken sesame satays and they were yummmmmm... The staff was courteous and overall it was a nice experience. I am definitely going here again to try the Awadhi biryani and pizzas. ^^

Cafe Mestizo is easily located in Balewadi high street. It is a cosy cafe that opened by a celebrity chef and claims to have most of the delectable pastas. We ordered for pink pasta(it was no where pink in shade!).. it was saltier than expected and not creamy as it is in most places. We also ordered a chocolate freal shake, this was a treat altogether! Overall, a decent place for a short date or catchup with friends.

Went for a light lunch in the afternoon. Falafel sandwich, Amritsari fish sandwich, BBQ chicken pizza and the spicy fizz drink. Overall the food was good, service was quick and reasonably priced as per the other eateries surrounding it. The falafel was made from moong, though not authentic was tasty! The Amritsari fish was nice spicy fish sticks and the pizza was tasty. The jalapeno passion fruit drink was the best! Overall good experience.

Working at Balewadi High Street surely has its own perks when it comes to food. Lots of options to choose from ranging from Marrakesh to Incognito, but when it comes to coffee there are very few options available here. Apart from Starbucks which I deliberately avoid to keep my wallet happy this one is a good replacement. Headed by Chef Deepu Alamchandani Mestizo has that cafe vibe to it, always filled with youngsters chit chatting, laughing and at times shouting is the usual scene here. Although it serves food covering English breakfast to innovative pizza's the main attraction is surely the "Freak Shakes". We went in on a Tuesday evening expecting less crowd but to our surprise we had to wait couple of minutes before we could get a table. As soon as we sat, the first thing I noticed was the music. Uptown music which is not very loud is just the thing you need to lift up your mood after a hectic day at work. We ordered 1) Mestizo blast : Freak-shake with a perfect mix of chocolate and strawberries garnished with the whipped cream,chocolate syrup and kitkat. 2) Banana Caramel Shake: This one is on the sweeter side. If you prefer a creamy smooth shake you will like this. Overall I prefer this place for an evening meeting or just a place where I can sit and write my blogpost while sipping on my cappuccino or the freak shake.
