Great place for your meat cravings! I had pork which was cooked properly, and lovely, tender chicken pieces in gravy. Reasonably priced and the owners/staff are very welcoming. The place isn't very big. There must be no more than 8 tables here. So its perfect if you wish to go and hog on the food without guilt. ;)

Visited the restaurant for a dinner on a Friday night. Met the owner upon arrival and he was courteous and explained the entire menu and what we should order and the portion sizes as well. Ordered the chicken wings and a chicken pulled burger which was absolutely scrumptious and we'll prepared. The bread for the burger was also soft The BBQ chicken wings has to be one of the best I have had . Overall a good place quick service and good food . A must visit place for grilled food in Pune

A unique place. The food is great. Good place for meat lovers ( has pork and duck offerings ). It's a small cozy place not too heavy on the decor. The menu is right there on a large blackboard which is a nice touch. They do have menu cards. The beverages could be better I would suggest the frappe.

The only downfall is that they have limited space. Rest everything is amazing. The feedback idea on sticky notes is amazing. Food is amazing as well. Offers snacks only, not food. Tried duck sandwiches, chicken sandwich, chicken burger and lasagna.. everything was top notch. A good hang out place if you’re in numbers of 3-4. Order takes some time to complete though.

Chicken wings couldn't get cheaper! Ugly Duckling serves superb, flawlessly baked chicken wings and believe me they taste amazing. And the rates are just downright cheap. Their barbecue sauce is also made with such perfection such that it gives that gooey texture to the wings and a perfect mixture of sweet and tangy. We had 24 of these between 3 people and still wanted more. Definitely great value for money. ✔

The taste is fabulous. However for a person who loves to eat... The size of the portions are small for the price you pay... Amazing chicken wings, waffles and pancakes... Very good taste...

The smoked pork with orange sauce is something to die for! The sauce is so appealing to the taste buds that you'll keep craving for more. The restaurant primarily being a barbecue place, serves really good BBQ meat. We ordered smoked chicken with mushroom sauce, smoked pork with orange sauce, pastas and nachos. The taste is heavenly. Period. You can't ask for anything more. The meat was cooked to perfection; it was tender on the inside and crisp on the outside. The sauces were a magic that transformed the food from being really good to heavenly. The only aspect where it lags behind is the limited seating space. The ambience is decent. Not too great, not bad either. Yes, you can bring a date here. It'll go great if he or she is a foodie. On a final note, the food totally offsets any negative aspect about this place. You should definitely give it a try.

Good American, Italian food suggestion: try veg and chicken platter.

Quality-wise they have the best food. Quantity-wise not as expected. Though being a better option for good Italian food in the surroundings, including a good aesthetics and positive vibe, they don't have the necessary service and the right pricing of food that brings back the customers for something more. I hope they either reduce their prices or change the size of there tableware.

Awasum food, menu on the board is a good thing because 1st you dont have to touch the usially dirty menu cards, 2nd the menu card is up-to-date.

Ordered Smoked Chicken Nachos & Bbq Duck in Spicy Sauce and loved both of them. However when I looked at the menu today, it seems to have changed which made me realise it's time to pay a visit again!

To start with, this Theuglyducklingindia place is neat and simple. But what makes it great is food served here. If you are a smoked meat lover this is the right place for you. They have small but precise menu which is more than sufficient for such outlet. Moreover they are not serving anything out of there capabilities, though there are couple of new entries to the menu added recently . In mocktails we had Orange ginger spritzer, Deadpool which tested good and unique of its kind. The sweet potato fries were awesome and the chicken wings were none of its kind. You get a delicious smoky flavor as you start eating them. In main course we had smoked duck with and chicken both were served with barbeque and mushroom sauce respectively. We also had pork sandwich which too was good. What makes there flavors different than others is there sauces. Don't forget to check your sauce options while ordering your food. Definitely worth visiting again.

This place states that it is the first smoke House in Pune. Never the less, I like this place. The prices are quite pocket friendly. The ambience is great. Chicken burger is a must try.

Smoked Chicken is to die for. Best burger I have ever had in my life. Small place. Speciality of this place is their wings, yet they weren't available.

Absolutely fabulous flavors. The duck and the pork are amongst the best in city. The smokey flavors are so good, I cannot write enough about it. Refreshing coolers - highly recommend the Deadpool, Basil lemonade and Cucumber Mojito Their desserts are yummy - bread pudding, frozen hot chocolate and pancakes. The chicken wings, the pork burgers, duck and vegetarian ratatouille lasagna were outstanding. Must go for everyone ! People need to be talking more about this place and lining up for their food.

Interesting menu, quick service and great food. Not a place with great ambience but the food makes up for it. I did not quite like their bread and butter pudding as it was too sweet and not really a pudding but otherwise the BBQ chicken dishes and the red velvet hot chocolate were brilliant. A must visit!!!

This place is so amazing...the food is great so is the ambiance. The menu is carefully selected and the sauces that go with the preparations are heavenly. Must try preparations. Animal fries. (French fries with thousand island dressing.) Smoked chicken with mushroom sauce Orange and ginger spritzer. The coffee selection is also great. A must visit place for all foodies.

Unfortunately there wasn't any duck when we went there. Pulled pork was good. Great ambience, overall a cosy little place with good food.

A small but cute place in baner. Limited seating so, if you are a big group please make a reservation. The Frozen Hot chocolate was the most attractive dish on the menu.It is innovative and tasty. This place is really a good option for meat lovers.<br/>They serve American type food, they have meal options, meal for two trust me, is enough for like 3 people, because their quantity is quiet a lot. They have veg, chicken, pork or mix options we ordered chicken meal which consists of fried , smoked and bbq pulled chicken, also fries, toast, boiled sweetcorn, bbq sauce, mustard sauce, and coleslaw.<br/>We had also ordered barbeque smoked chicken wings and all their beverages. Smoked chicken wings were delicious but the drinks were average.<br/>Lastly, the frozen hot chocolate topped with whipped cream was a good dessert end to dinner.

This is a small cafe kinda place. I just loved the food and presentation. The quantity was good. The serves-two platter was actually for three people. <br/>Vegetarian options are less. <br/>We tried 4 drinks, most of which sucked! Blue streak was good. <br/>The service is a bit slow, but the food was worth the wait. <br/>In all a must visit place especially if you are a fan of chicken like me! Happy customer :)<br/>

Its amazing.<br/><br/>BBQ Pulled pork: Oh this one I could not stop hogging!! At times the bbq sauce ends up being sweet which is not what i enjoy.. But this one, diced and juicy..Not too sweet at all.<br/><br/>Pork Sausages: Grilled well until shiny the two sausages really go well with the chipotle and BBQ sauce that is served too.<br/><br/>The bacon was yummm but could do better with a little more than the 3 strips that they serve.<br/><br/>Talking about beverages, had ordered the blue streak and passion fruit soda.<br/><br/>Passion fruit soda was a bit okish!! The ugly duckling is a good option for non-vegetarians. It serves veg too but you don't have much options. It comes with the platter which is ok for supper. Can't go when hungry for food, it won't satisfy your hunger. Needs more options for veg and the ambience needs improvement too. But coming to the Non-Veg my friends reviewed the pork as drooling and delicious. So Non-vegetarians can definitely go without a thought

Though it's a cosy little cafe, but worth it only for their pork recipes. the other starters and the chicken main course we had were only just about okay. however, if it's pork you want, this is the place to be.

Visited this place after haggling with friends for a long time for deciding where to have dinner. Had made my reservation through eatigo and had no problem getting a table at all. This is a small, quaint place with a bright interior and moderate seating space. They smoke their meat in the smoker they've kept outside their restaurant for you to see.<br/>Since we were impatient and hungry we ordered immediately. We had the Mixed Meat meal, Chicken 3 Ways meal, Fried Chicken meal and the Veggie burger meal for the poor vegetarian guy who was missing it all. The meals came with all the accompaniments mentioned in the menu. We had Fried Chicken, Smoked Chicken as well as Pulled Pork in our platter. Fried chicken was seasoned well and tasty. We had 2 big portions, one for each one who was sharing the meal with the other. Smoked chicken was cooked well. All the smoky flavor was infused in it. Same could be said for the pork, however for me the smoky flavor was overpowering the flavor of cooked pork. All in all we had the same variety of food over each person's plate except for the vegetarian guy. Nobody really bothered to taste his burger because Hey, Barbeque is supposed to involve meat! We each had different coolers. I had the honeydew melon, which was light in flavor of a watermelon and less sweet, just the way I like it. Cherry Coke was good as well. So was the Cold coffee and Blue streak. Nobody tried Passion fruit though.<br/>Service was pretty quick as the place wasn't crowded and the staff was polite. The manager was cooperative with us as well as provided us with the discounted reservation we had made. Had Memphis style smoked chicken with meal and Smoked BBQ pulled chicken with meal. It's very delicious. Loved the presentation of the food item . Meal comes with a beverage , french fries and kinda Caesar salad. Will definitely visit again.

I had ordered one of their must try mephis chicken. I am a chicken lover and It is undoubtedly the most awful chicken dish I have ever had in my life. Very badly cooked and tasted pathetic.

The presentation itself was unappealing.<br/>4. Same three/four songs on repeat for infinity.<br/>5. The taste, ambience and service doesn't justify the high prices (prices similar to a fine dine restaurant!)<br/><br/>This is a pretty over-hyped place. They have a lot to improve upon. I'm sure there are better places out there to have pork at this price. <br/><br/><br/>

I had ordered a Cheese grilled sandwich and chipotle paneer sandwich. But I received a chipotle paneer sandwich and a chicken sandwich. I am a vegetarian and so I called the hotel to complaint about the same, the guy responded to me like 'khana hai to khao varna rakh lo, main kuch nhi kr sakta'<br/>Amazingly he is not at all concerned about customer, when I said I am a vegetarian still he says 'main kya karu, rakho ya khao kuch bhi kro phone rakho abhi' and he just disconnected the phone

Amazing food and great service. A must for any self respecting meat lover. Went over on a Sunday for lunch. Nice cosy ambience. Tried pulled pork fries chicken wings chicken main course and pork 3 way. All the meats were succulent and done to perfection. All the side dishes and sauces were also good. However the beverages were pretty average. Wish they served beer. My score 4.2.

This is a place which gives you quantities well worth your money and the service is quick with <br/>Polite and courteous staff. <br/>We tried the mixed meat meal which had chicken two ways and smoked pork with coleslaw, fries, barbecue sauce and corn. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the flavours were great😁. The corn was delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. <br/>However, for me the pork was rubbery and not very enjoyable. Apart from this everything else was pretty good. <br/>Will return again to try more items on the menu!

Small place but delicious food. Quick service and the staff knows what they're serving. The zucchini rolls are really good. Make sure you go a little early on weekends as the place is a little cramped up with people on holidays.

Had a fantastic dinner on 31st Dec! It's a small place and you will get very limited menu, but they will serve you some perfect meat meal with perfect taste and reasonable price! I have paid this place a visit a few times before but the menu has been changed so this review is based on the new menu.<br/><br/>Location (3/5) : This place is located on the Baner-Pashan Link road opposite Mont Vert Finesse. It's actually pretty easy to spot and it's a busy but a very narrow road. It is located a little outside of the main Baner restaurants area. The parking won't be a problem for two wheelers but four wheelers might have to struggle on busy days. <br/><br/>Management & Service (4.5/5) : The management here is good. The manager is always around to see if the customers need anything. Service here is decent and strangely I did not see any waiter or server but the manager himself served us the dishes but ya I can say the staff here is polite.<br/><br/>Overall Ambiance (3/5) : The ambiance here is okay and not that great but it is clean,tidy and simple. There are two tables in the outdoor seating area and then they have both upstairs and downstairs seating indoors. I expected fries but then fries come with the dish only if you opt for a burger meal.<br/><br/>Mocha Coffee : (2/5) : The reason for 2 rating is that the Mocha Coffee was way too watery in flavour. Mocha is generally Espresso , Chocolate milk layer and then topped with foam or whipped cream but the consistency of drink we had was watery and I could honestly taste only chocolate which was good actually in taste only if it was not watery but then where's the Espresso?? I couldn't taste any in there.<br/><br/>So average food rating based on these two items only is (3/5).<br/><br/>Value For Money (4/5) : The prices on the menu are pretty decent for the quantity served and doesn't burn a hole in your pocket so will give it a four.<br/><br/>Will keep visiting! <br/><br/>

Went there yesterday after I saw a post/article in fb..pretty bad food..they were out of pretty much everything in non veg..we got chicken bbq burgers and a bacon and cheese sandwich..the burger sucked..it had some liquidy red thing dripping frpm all sides which was not tasty at all..the chicken itself had no taste..the sandwich was better..well what wrong can you do when you're just putting cheese and bacon between two breads?!..overall not a good experience..<br/>

Located in the booming vicinity of Baner, this quaint little place serves one of the best barbeques in Pune. The USP of The Ugly Duckling is their house-made BBQ, Chipotle and other amazing sauces. Also, they have a barbeque machine which grills meat for more than 24 hours to get the marination absorbed completely and get the flavours deep inside the protein.

Visited this place some time back. It has good variety. Small bites and sandwiches were amazing. Desert was not so great. Definitely recommendable for evening snacks

Ugly duckling is the bomb! Unfortunately the place wasn't set up while I lived in Pune, I got a chance to eat here recently when I flew in from Delhi. Honestly I didn't expect much from the place going by it's name, it's outdoors, and the flat interiors, but it slowly takes over you once you begin to absorb the setting. We had ordered a multitude of dishes (names of which are hard to recollect now). Their smoked chicken was bathed in a delicious gravy and had an unearthly aroma, which was my favorite. They have a good range of beverages, and the standouts were the Frozen hot chocolate and lavender iced tea. The restaurant also seeks feedback actively from customers, and it's staircase and walls are filled with parchments and sticky notes containing customers' remarks. I cannot wait to revisit the place!!

Ambience is good.. Nice soft music.. Food was not up to the mark.. Single duck meal is about 500rs + gst.. Not worth it..Smoked chicken was all dry..

This is my 3rd time to this restaurant. this time when I stepped in the entire concept was changed. No board, new menu card. I ordered many things but nothing was as per my expectations. Food was good but the way it was presented was pathetic. <br/>Was not able to eat in that small plate. Especially chicken wings, it was old and was reheated. Outer part was hot but inner part was cold. <br/>Will not suggest this restaurant to anyone.

Ordered the Mix Veg platter which was served with a variety of small portions. Tasted lovely. The mozzarella sticks, however, can be improved. All in all, good lunch.

The Ugly Duckling typically serves American and Italian cuisine. We had the Blue Streak, Cherry Coke, Lemon Iced Tea, Honey Dew Melon and Passion Fruit. Being a Cola lover, my pick had to be Cherry Coke.

went their yesterday , was looking forward to have pulled prok , but it wasnt available, had buffalo wings which were nice , smoked chicken burger meal which was quiet filling and tasty !! then came the duck leg , it was a let down , could have been seasoned better , then came the chicken cheese sandwich , it wasnt very appealing either, felt very dry , the cheese too didnt melt properly , if it could have had any thing extra in it like caramalised onions or cole slaw , it would have tasted much better. but somked fpavour in all the meats was good , would visit again .

I had heard about this new eatery in town and wanted to give a try..entered the place with lot of expectations but it did not fulfill them.<br/>We ordered smoked chicken Burger meal with passion fruit drink and one pork hot dog. <br/>The quality of bread used in burger as well as hot dog was very very low and spoiled the whole meal.The bread tasted not so fresh.<br/>Passion fruit drink was good. The delivery guy just couldn't find my place. Landed up in this restauranat after reading a couple of good reviews, has always been in My To Go List. Locaed on Baner Pashan Link road is a tiny place which is quite visibile on the road due to its bright signage.<br/><br/>Firstly on entering we were more excited to go on the top floor, the first look of the staircase is really bright amd cute with messages written on colorfull papers and definetely pulls your eyesight towards it. Nevertheless we came down because it wasnt feasible to see the menu, come down and come up again. <br/><br/>Owing to the name we had in mind that Duck is definetely our main dish and hence we ordered that alongwith Smoked Pepper Chicken and Chicken Ala something which came as a starter. The Duck was absolute amazing, well cooked (though the cutlery wasnt designed for serving the same coz it was very slippery), Smoked Pepper Chicken too was good with a different flavour altogether. <br/><br/>Negative Points-<br/><br/>1. The Ratatouille Lasagne and Mozarella Sticks was not available (which are the main things ordered)<br/><br/>2. Looking all the way up to the Menu written on the Wall was quite a pain and I felt atleast Menu cards should have been distributed.<br/><br/>3. Portions are extremely less (both the Small and Large Plates, Fries too were served in a minute quantity which I felt was absolutely weird)<br/><br/>Due to all the other reasons 3.5/5 is my score of The Ugly Duckling.

Simple and Easy Presentation !! loved it ! 2 of my friends also ordered some veg (dishes names I really cant recall as I was busy with my Pork dish 😜).. Its a small place but i liked it. A good place to have dinner. Ambience is interesting. Staff is polite and the food is flavoursome! We ordered mushrooms ala plancha which was tangy along with smoked chicken with creamy pepper sauce in which one could feel the smoky flavor! I believe it is famous for ducks. So duck lovers should definitely consider this option.

Missed the mark is what I would say about this restaurant.<br/>We went there on Tuesday night and there was absolutely no one so the service we got was quick.<br/>Ambiance is okay nothing to talk about much. We ordered chicken wings in appetisers which were really good.<br/>Chicken Quesadilla was ordered next from the small plates section which was okay as I found nothing mexican about it in the flavour.<br/>Then came the much talked about Smoked chicken spicy bbq sauce, we told the attendant to make it medium spicy but I guess he misheard me and what came on the plate was definitely not up to mark.<br/>The chicken pieces were tough, chewy and just lacked the smoky flavour. The sauce was just confusing, I have tried a lot of bbq sauces but this one lacked basic seasoning as well. Mashed potato along with it was dry and just didn't belong on that plate I felt. The garlic bread was really nice and crispy.<br/>All in all an average experience with a bit of disappointment.Ninad Joshi

You can opt either ground floor seating or second floor. PURE ECSTASY 😍<br/>The crop pizza at The Ugly Duckling is one hell of a pizza with graciously melted cheese and with a base that gives it an entirely different flavour. Tomato and basil are the two extraordinary base sauces used here and give these pizzas their distinct taste. Made with impeccable toppings and thin crust, I'm not kidding when I say that this is one of the best pizza's I've had. And Chicken wings couldn't get cheaper! Ugly Duckling serves superb, flawlessly baked chicken wings and believe me they taste amazing. And the rates are just downright cheap. Their barbecue sauce is also made with such perfection such that it gives that gooey texture to the wings and a perfect mixture of sweet and tangy. We had 24 of these between 3 people and still wanted more. Definitely great value for money. ✔<br/>

Good affordable food. The smoked chicken is amazing, the appetizers are tasty especially the chicken nachos and the mozzarella sticks. The hot chocolate is brilliant as well. Only problem is their specialty i.e. the pizzas weren't available and also the enchilada. So if you are planning to have a full menu it is advisable to go for lunch or an early evening dinner.

A fantastic place for the meat lovers. Duck, Pork and Chicken at one place. Nice ambience and very friendly waiters. About the food, it was just amazing. We ordered Spaghetti with Meatballs and Pepperoni Pizza with Pesto base. The meatballs were perfectly cooked and the spaghetti was andante like it should be. There Irish Cream Soda is a must try.

As everyone know this one is small cozy eatery in the heart of Baner located on the Baner - Pashan link road. Ambiance is really great they've made something out in this little place which will surely impress young crowd. I didn't like the combination because we had to taste sauce with bread. Dry meat didn't suck the flavour of sauce at all. One of the good pork burgers in town! The best bacon n cheese burger for sure... was here on a rainy evening, with a bud, the people are extremely friendly. The place carries a very homely feeling. Definitely be here if u want a good meal, be it chicken pork or duck ! Cheers to the owners :-)

It was a rainy Sunday evening when we decided to order from this place, which is like 10 minutes drive from our place.<br/>The Zomato order system informed us that the order would be delivered in 60 minutes. The delivery boy calls about 45 minutes into the order asking for directions, which we promptly gave him. And after that, we waited, and waited, and waited. I called the delivery person 3 times asking him his whereabouts. Finally, he comes with a drenched bag of cold and wet grilled sandiwiches, which had already become soggy along with drenched potato wedges. The order was cold, wet and pathetic. The delivery boy cooly tells us that he was delayed because of rains, but what about our Sunday dinner? A horrible experience. Plus they charge packaging and delivery charges amounting to 50 bucks. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich and smoked pork dishes at home. The quality of meat was bad ! The smoked pork dish didn't even have salt. Probably they forgot to add it. <br/><br/>Overall quite disappointed with the quality and taste of the food.

This is one beautiful Swan, in terms of food. <br/><br/>We ordered multiple dishes and boy they all were delicious! <br/>The "BBQ chicken wings" had a perfect smokey undertaste with a nice gooey BBQ sauce. <br/>The thin crust pizza base was a perfect combination of Pesto sauce and cheese, topped with veggies. <br/>And the "Red Velvet Hot Chocolate" was heavenly. Pure bliss. Highly recommended. <br/>The sweet potato fries went so well with the Chipotle dip. A not too big eatery in the heart of Baner, this place packs itself with enough pocket bombs to fill your continental palate. We were there for tasting as many verities as we could and boy they didn't disappoint.<br/>The spicy chicken wings and the buffalo wings were quite the perfect food to start with. The chicken was juicy as hell. The spicy bbq duck leg was a bit disappointing. It lacked a bit flavor in the meat. Next we had two continental classics. The Ratatouille lasagna was quite the cheesy and flavorful as we expected. The shepherd's pie was what I was the least impressed with. I thought the dish could have been the star of the show. It lacked the rustic meaty texture and was a bit too sour for the liking. The pizzas were the best things they served us. We were a bit reluctant to order pizzas there but was quite surprised to find them so good with such generous topping of chicken and cheese.<br/>We had all the desserts they had on the menu except for the red velvet cake. The waffles were just awesome. Great combo with whipped cream. The pancakes tasted great aswell. The frozen hot chocolate though was nothing special. The bread pudding was pretty good with the perfect degree of sweetness.<br/><br/>Worth mentioning is there service. Very prompt service and low wait time. Good seating and decent music too.

Great place for meat lovers. If you like pork, you will love this place. One should try Pork Burger, Smoked pork and hot buffalo chicken wings. We had pesto base paprika pizza, white sauce pasta, ultimate cheese sandwich and chicken burger. Everything else was fine except for the pasta. The service was good and it's a nice place to hang out.<br/>Its safe to recommend paprika pizza amongst all that we had.

One of the best restaurants in Pune, without a doubt! Try everything, especially onion rings and pesto sandwiches. Their ice tea is out of the world.

Visited this place about 2-3 weeks back. We tried two of their dishes.<br/>1. BBQ Chicken Wings, the BBQ sauce was just fine but the meat was a little tough, hence it was not very enjoyable.<br/>2. Spaghetti Meatballs, the meatballs were well cooked and were the star of the dish, they had to be. :P A little spicy but that can be ignored.<br/>The best thing was the Strawberry Mint Soda, thumbs up for this one though. Really quenches your thirst. <br/><br/>Ambience is pretty decent though and the service is also fine. <br/><br/>P.S. Really liked the bottles they used to serve water. I had ordered 2 pizzas and one pasta with tomato sauce but after looking at the quality of pizzas i had promised myself not to ever order pizza from this outlet. What a disappointment!!! Ugly looking pizzas

Had been wanting to visit this place for quite some time now and was pleasantly surprised with the food served there. We ordered BBQ chicken wings, chicken Quesadilla, frozen hot chocolate and kiwi slush. The food was fresh and good and the drinks, even better. And also, the place is totally VFM. The only thing that stopped me from giving a higher rating is the ambience, which can be improved upon.<br/>P.s.- The frozen hot chocolate is really a dessert and not a drink :P

A nice small place to have some decent barbecue,well kinda.What you expect from a barbecue style restaurant's items are messy hands and explosion of flavour.Well a messy experience it was but flavour wise eeeehhhhhhhh idk,it just didn't hit the taste buds,maybe my personal choice but the food lacked flavour.The wings were good,the chicken barbecue pizza with a pesto base was excellent.

Cute ambience. Ordered nachos, bbq chicken wings and a lemon iced tea. Nachos were good and value for money. Bbq sauce was good, but the chicken was a little hard. Iced tea seemed a little watery. <br/>Extremely courteous staff who received the feedback very well. Would show up again to try other dishes they menu has to offer!
