Very old and famous place. Situated inside Tulshi bAag and hence easy to spot ... Few varieties of ice creams, juices, milk shakes and Mastanis. Mango mastani is good. Maharaja Mastani isn't as good as they say . Softy is fine

I recently visited Kaware Cold Drink in Tulshi Bag and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Good old fashioned icecream and cold drink house. We found the quality of sundae slightly deteriorated compared to few years back, preserved fruit and flavours used not real fruit.

Lovely place. I used to visit this place as a kid and still do as an adult. What can i say about this place ? Icecream icecream iceceam .......lovely icecreams. The staff here is very friendly. We tried the kesar mastani and it was amazing. Then we ate the mango delight One scoop of gulkand One scoop of pineapple One scoop of pista And we wanted moreeeee. This place is forever on my visit list.

Tastewise every item was uniquely sweet & flavourful.. Felt very refreshing & filling.. Will try their icecreams next time..

Rightly situated in the middle of heavy area. Short breaks and soothing milkshakes and ice creams are worth the visit.

The taste of Faluda and Mastani is too good. When I come to Tulsi Baug for shopping, I cant resist myself to have a temptation of going to Kavre Ice Cream and having ice cream. The juices here are fresh. I like the faluda here the most.

This is a outlet of the dairy house by the same name. It's a nice place where they showcase all of their products. Most of those are not available in the regular stores. All of the dairy products are great and value for money. The staff is great, they were serving customers even though we were in their lunch time. Overall a must visit if you are in the vicinity.

I visited the outlet on recommendation of a friend. The outlet was an absolute delight , I really like the mango Mastani and other sundae served by them also. Surely an outlet worth visiting more than once

For all ice cream lovers, a trip to Pune can never end without a visit to Kaware in Tulshibag. They are famous for huge sundaes, which are just too good. If three-four scoops in one dish is too much for you, they also serve the more usual, single scoop, cone and candy. But, I didn't like their mango mastani. It was quite watery and nothing compared to Sujata. But, for ice creams it will always be the place to go to.

Very good service and it was really tasty. Good place to hangout specially after shopping and getting irritated in Pune traffic. Can go with friends and enjoy a lot of things there. You can enjoy with less money.

This place is a famous ice cream Parlour since a very long time. But the experience I had was terrible. Firstly, they refused to give extra spoons inspite of our willingness to pay extra money. Also, we were standing inside and having the ice cream when there were no customers in there. So, the owner comes and says go out and stand as though we are beggars standing in there! Wonder what attitude they have!

This place was once well known for good Mastanis. But now it just seemed like milk shakes with an obnoxiously sweet syrup akd a dallop of ice cream. If you know what a Mastani should taste like, you are better off not having it here. Will not recommend for any price.

This is the place I’m visiting since childhood, yes it is one of the oldest ice-cream parlours in Pune and they have maintained the quality throughout. A good cozy place to visit with your family and friends, and a mandatory visit if you are shopping nearby. The ice-creams are truly yumm, the sundaes are their speciality The pineapple and fruit king are the ones I have tried, they were very delicious and had actual taste of the fruit. The scoops were good too, chocolate was a standout.

He recommended a Sunday named "Chashmeshahi". Alongwith it we ordered "Rose Falooda".<br/><br/>Both preparations came in 10 minutes. It was a visual delight for us. Brilliant presentation.<br/><br/>Chashmeshahi tasted great. Ice cream scoops, tooty-frooty with cherry on top.<br/><br/>Rose Falooda was good. Sweetness was delicately controlled which helped us to finish it easily.<br/><br/>We paid 170/- bill. Will definitely come to taste other items.

Mastani here.... is amazing and worth it. I tried mastani for the first time at this place and it was heaven. I ordered pista mastani, strawberry mastani, chocolate mastani and mango mastani. I particularly liked pista and strawberry, it had lots of dry fruits, tutti fruity and was very creamy.<br/>The place could be maintained more hygienically.

kaware cold drinks brings childhood memories back. we used to visit the laxmi road area with parents during summer shopping and stopping by kaware cold drinks was customary. in the mango season their mango mastani is a must have along with other ice creams especially casatta.

One of the legendary ice cream parlours in Pune. I have been visiting this place since my childhood. I never miss a chance to visit this place when I am in city area. I visited Kawre with my husband after a long time. This place is always crowded. We ordered Mango Mastani (Milkshake) and Peshwai Mastani (Milkshake). Mango Mastani is a mango milkshake served with a scoop of Mango ice cream and Peshwai Mastani is a rose flavoured one, topped with generous amount of dry fruits and scoop of rose ice cream. Both were brilliant as usual. I really like this place as the milkshakes are not too sweet and well balanced. Quality and Taste is consistent since years and I have never seen a drop in the same till date. Service was prompt and restaurant was hygienic.

The place is pretty great to visit when you are wandering around Tulsi bagh in this hot summer days. The softy served is pretty cheap and taste better then others out there. Also they have some great jumbo serves which may serve 3-4 people. The pista softy is a bit like wipped cream so avoid that rather go for mango one.

Kaware cold drinks is one of Pune's oldest ice cream shop. Its located in a busy lane of Tulsi baug market. The ground floor section sells softy ice cream and family packs. The section on the first floor serves ice creams, milk shakes and mastani. They also serve some combo ice creams.<br/><br/>Mango and chocolate ice creams are the best. Amongst the mastanis, pista mastani is awesome. Chashmeshahi, sunday special, tall glory & mango exotica are some of their own combo creations.

In the heart of the tulshi bel baug lies the kaware ice-cream parlour. I had a lot of memories here since my childhood and one thing that has been constant throughout is the amazing mango mastani. Its been 23 years now and it still has the similar charm. Definitely worth a try.

Seating area is on the first floor, whereas you can get softies at ground level. I have been at this place many times for their softies. Their softies are amazing. Mango softy is my personal favourite. You get all other ice cream dishes, juices and shakes on first floor. The sundaes taste great. Ambience is average and so is service and staff. Good quality. Thought of trying out this renowned place while I was visiting Dagdhuseth. Interesting how I found the place while my phone battery was down. More like a puzzle hunt. Once I found this place it seemed like I found an old gem. Very old place and almost packed. Always a good thing! Ordered grilled sandwich and Badam mastani. It took very very long to get the grilled sandwich which seemed to be from an outsourced vendor. It was average. The Badam Mastani was good. Good to experience at least once while you are visiting this place.

One of the oldest Mastani houses in Pune. We often go here, ignore the spelling in my snap, it's Kesar* not least 😂. Their specialty is the mango Mastani, do try that. Not a fan of kesar, I loved the Pista Mastani too. It's in city! There is no car parking for obvious reasons, good luck finding a parking for your bike tooZ ;) but surely visit this place to try out the traditional mastanis :)

They also give a chocolate stick with it :) <br/>Sitaphal scoop - The ice cream scoops have absolute natural flavors. It's neither too sweet, nor less sweet, just perfecto ! ;) <br/>Sundae - It's too heavy, loaded with nuts and dry fruits. Trust me you will need help of others to finish it off. But it's all worth it ! <br/>Milkshakes - I have tried strawberry, seasonal and kesar milkshakes. I found the Kesar one slightly sweet for my taste. Apart from this no complaints! <br/><br/>If you are in peth area then this joint is must try for ice cream lovers ! On top of that service is quick and prices are very nominal ! The poor rating is only for the cleanliness aspect. Very very dirty (I'm taking about the old kaware in the centre of Tulsi baug.) They don't clean the tables even if u ask them to. U have to literally plead! The glasses rnt clean and so r the spoons. The walls look dirty as well. The place is very ill maintained. However, the mastanis there r good. I always have the mango Mastani, it's a real treat(provided you ignore the filth around.)

Kaware serves one of the best ice-creams in Pune. My favorite one is Cassata deluxe which is the best I ever had. I highly recommend this place to all the Punekars. Almost everything on the menu is delicious.

I've been visiting this place since my childhood. They established their business in 1916. They serve variety of ice creams,juices,milkshakes etc. After shopping with Punehashtagtrending,i craved for ice cream. In no time we went and had softy and mango shake with ice cream. They have their seating area upstairs. We have to place the order and settle ourselves upstairs. Now coming to the taste. Do i have to mention that...??? Well if u are Punekar u knw wat i am talking abt. Their ice cream is out of this world. It is pocket friendly and the quality is also 'A' grade. No compromise on quality and quantity.... Thus it deserves 4.5 rating

I am obsessed with this thing of trying out the legendary restaurants and eat outs in the city but it appears that most of them have let me down either in terms of ambience, hygiene, service, price or food. Kaware Cold drink house makes it to that list. Even though it has some nice items in the menu, it has failed to provide the service, ambience, hygiene and courtesy to the customers.<br/><br/>Now the review:<br/>Service - 1.0<br/>Tables were unclean and the waiters were sitting in a corner chatting with a "We dont give a shi**" attitude. They had to be called to place the order. You can see in the pics.<br/><br/>Hygiene - 1.0<br/>There is a restroom upstairs in the corner which was stinking like hell. When pointed that out to the waiter he just pushed to half close it. Wow..what an attitude.<br/><br/>Ambience - 1.0<br/>The sitting area is sitting cum storage area where you can see boxes stacked around you.<br/><br/>Courtesy - 1.0<br/>A family carrying a child was asked to go down and get the coupon by the waiters when they placed their order.<br/><br/>Food - Good but not going to rate.<br/>I may be too harsh to not rate the food. All i can say was Mango Mastani and Mango Ice cream were good. But if the restaurant fails to provide the basic rightful service to the customer, the customer has the right to fail the restaurant.<br/>If these parameters do not bother you then you can certainly pay a visit.<br/><br/>

This is an amazing ice cream house of Pune which goes back to my memory lane as far as i remember. It is always a pleasure to go and have a delicious ice cream here. The sundays they serve are just amazing. You get the exact replica of the pictures depicting them that are there in the shop already so you can pick up from seeing the pictures as well. The mango ice cream is soo delicious. I believe they really know how to manufacture ice cream. But don't expect proper service as the waiters are not interested in you and they seem to ignore what you have ordered but still get the correct order to your table. A must place for ice cream lovers.

One of the oldest ice cream parlor...taste of mastani is unchanged from many years...i like mango mastani..it is simple and plane mastani..servers mango ice cream with just mango milkshake...but tastes really awesome..

This place is one of the old city gems, favourite among locals for many many years and having maintained the taste and quality for all these decades. My mother and I were shopping on Laxmi Road, when we suddenly realized that we hadn't been to this place in Tulsibaug for a long long time and considering the warm weather, decided to go there for a mastani treat immediately.<br/><br/>My oldest memories of Kaware are those with my grandfather who would take my cousins, brother and me to have some mastani at Kaware while my grandmother, mother and aunts would go shopping to the crowded lanes of tulsibag and laxmi road..Aaah, Nostalgia! My mother and I couldn't exactly remember how old this place is, she remembers it being there as long back as her memory can take her. So we enquired at the counter at came to know that the place was established in 1952! In an age where restaurants open and shut down every other day, staying in business and maintaining standards itself, for me, it deserves respect.<br/><br/>The set-up is pretty basic, no great ambience to expect. They have a very small section downstairs which has a quick service counter serving ice cream scoops and softies to shoppers in tulsibag on the go. The section upstairs in much bigger, has fair enough but basic seating where the more elaborate desserts are served. As soon as you enter upstairs, you get this characteristic milky smell of an old-world ice-cream joint.<br/><br/>The menu has several options in kulfis, faloodas, Sundaes and Mastanis. But ther must have item here is undoubtedly almost all the variants of their mastani. On this particular visit, my mother wanted to try their matka kulfi; so we shared that and then we had a Mastani each. The Matka Kulfi, to my disappointment came in a plastic matka, not the original clay one; and the texture was too creamy and soft, almost like a basoondi flavoured ince-cream, instead of how the actual slightly dense texture of kulfi that should have been.<br/>My personal favourites here are Mango Mastani and Pista Mastani. Had a Pista Mastani this time, which has the usuals of a pista flavoured milkshake, a big pista ice-cream scoop and generous amounts of pistachio flakes. My mother went for the Kesar Mastani which she found to be really nice. All the items were perfect in terms of flavour and consistency and were not overly sweet. Althought a lot of people prefer Sujata Mastani, I like this one more for the same reason, that Kaware uses lesser sugar and avoids excess flavour essence in coamparison to Sujata.<br/><br/>Kaware cold-drinks takes pride in the fact that they serve real, home-made ice-cream made of only dairy fat (cream) unlike most local vendors who basically sell 'frozen dessert' in the name of ice-cream and use vegetable oil as an emulsifying agent instead. And for the quality, taste and quantity, this place is really really inexpensive.<br/><br/>Do try if you want the complete local experience, shopping at Tulsi Baug followed by a Mastani at Kaware!<br/><br/>P.S: they are very old school and still do not accept cards, so do keep some cash along.
