Review Yaa Rawji - Pune

Varghese
They have the best tambda pandhra rassa! There is simply no deviation from the authenticity in this age of modifying dishes as per customer requirements. They serve you the real thalis. This was friend's recommendation, and boy was he right. It's a cozy little space and sends a good Marathi vibe. The staff here is very prompt and the manager makes it a point to meet every customer before they leave, else he is occupied in the kitchen. He talks like a foodie and has a keen chefs' view of his menu. We started with the Bombil fry, and had one Mutton Shetkari Thali and one Mutton Kharda Thali. This restaurant should be on every tourist's itinerary.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It was surprisingly affordable, the portions were generous, and the customer service was outstanding. The staff took great care of the tables where families dined. The food was delicious and far from stale. I highly recommend dining at this establishment.

I visited ya ravji in last weekend. I had taken chicken Shetkari and it was not as good as we had expected. Quantity and quality both were not good for that dish. else everything was good. The way they provided service it would be appreciable.

Must try if you are a Maharashtrian food lover speciality Kolhapuri. Thali with unlimited option. Service is very good, very polite staff. Yummy food. We tried pomfret thali and veg pithala thali. Both were yummy made with homemade authentic spices.

Good place for tasty nonveg food.. Enjoyed Mutton & chicken Shetkari , chicken masala and egg masala.... Staff is polite and soft-spoken.. This place is quite different then many other hotels.. They seemed more inclined towards ensuring authentic taste rather then changing as per the target audience..

Must try Hotel for non veg lover specially Mutton lovers.. I found 1st restaurant in pune which having similar taste of kolhapur mutton.. good thing is,you will get tambada and pandhara rassa with solkadi here.. rates are also quite good.... taste is realy awesome...

Awesome place for delicious non veg food... have been there multiple times and was never ever disappointed... I have tried chicken thalis here which are really awesome... I had recommended this place to many friends and they were quiet amazed to have such a wonderful non veg restaurant in pune...

Food: 4 Lot of options in thali. Tried chiken fry thali. Chicken fry was good. Tambda rassa was average. i felt menu is little confusing, may be I'll get it once I get to taste all variations. Service: 4 Good! Everybody was polite and friendly. Price: 3.5 Its little overpriced compared to other hotels specialized in 'thalis' based on taste and ambience. (That's my opinion) Setup: 4 Celebrity pics from Marathi film industry are posted on the walls which suits the name 'Ya Raavji'. Washroom and wash basin is outside on the left side of entrance, which I felt little inconvenient.

Good experience. The restaurant area is small but sitting arrangement is comfortable. Seats for around 30 to 35 people at one time. I took mutton fry thali, Rs 445, the mutton quantity and taste was good. The kolhapuri special tambda, pandhara rassa( red, white curry) was good. Every thing was average spicy.

One of the best places on Baner Road to have non veg thali! Homely Maharashtrian taste! Thank you Today we had the glorious king fish fry and bombil fry! Simply amazing! A must try
Pranay Lawhatre
The place desrves more credit. If you are a non-veg lover do check out this place. Their mutton Kala masala thali is my best although you can check out other dish as well. They give you unlimited refills except the peices. For veg, the food is also good and you get the refill on everything. They won't charge you for packaged bottle as well. Must Try

We loved the simplicity of the food and the limited menu. Limited menu restaurants ex wl in what they bring to the table and Ya Rawaji is one of them. Staff is courteous and warm and sensitive to the needs of children. Highly recommended.
Bhuushan Paalkar
If you wish to enjoy the real Kolhapuri cuisine then this is the best place in Baner (I could even get a little ambitious in saying in Pune). It offers both a vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu. Do try their Jowar and Rice bhakri and their speciality - Pandhra Rassa and Solkadhi.
Vinay Varne
Love the taste Prize is good compared to others All non veg mast try pandhra rassa

Good place with nice ambience come and try their delicious menu😋

I had ordered the chicken masala. I found a house fly that too fully cooked in the chicken masala. There is no proper cleaning of the kitchen. When you visit just ask the staff for a look of kitchen and you will understand how come the fly is in the food.

Food: 5/5
Ambiance: 5/5
Staff: 5/5

As soon as we entered, the theme just took us back to a different world. There were frames of all the well known Marathi dignitories. An amazing decor with it to go by. Definitely an antique style to keep it trending. Loved it. Interiors were fab too.
Coming over to food, just mind blowing. Excellent taste to it. Just like freshly cooked from mom's kitchen coming on to the plates. Tried the mini mutton thali and it was all delicious. Definitely a good heavy dose of dinner for one person. Value for money.
Service was amazing. The staff are really very polite. On their feet always ready to serve before we ask for anything. Quick and clean service to tick off our great visit. Thank you.

This place is ausumn. Decent seating arrangements and very tasty food and nice service as well. I took pomfret thali and it was very good. Big size Pomfret nicely fried with spices, bangda curry and bombil fry was nice and tasty. The sukat was also very good. Solkadi at its best. And rice bhakri again was nicely prepared. To end with they also gaved paan. Nice experience. :).

Very Good quality of food.
The spices used by them are very authentic and very tasty.
Nice ambience.
Best place for non-veg food nearby baner.
Kolhapuri tambada and pandhara rassa are really up to the mark.
I love this place.
Thank you "Yaa Rawaji".
Keep it up.
Aarti Bhansali
This is one of the best places to have thalis... Extremely pocket friendly, typical home made and amazing taste.
Aditya Borkar
Small place but decent ambience. Nice food. We had Prawns fry and Chiken sukkha in starter. It tasted very good. Bhakari and chiken shetkari rassa added more moments in main course. Overall it was nice food.

Another place in Pune for maharashtrian non-veg food.
Good quality food and polite and quick service. I would give 5 star for food quality and quantity, also to service.
I recommend this place if you are looking for non- veg food.
Advice- over weekends you might need to wait from 15-30 min depending on time.
Sandeep Panicker
Been there for lunch on my colleagues recommendation. The ambience is quite good with some old school village kind of decor. This place is known for its thalis so ordered the same
2 mutton thali
1 surmai thali
I ordered the shetkari thali. It consist of one main mutton shekari curry a small cup of minced mutton solkadi chapati rice and two kind of rassas
All the curries were a bit more runny to my liking
Kind of below average.
Surmai thali was also okayish
I went there couple of times and my experience is terrific. Their Shetkari Rassa special mutton Thali is one of the best. Mutton was nicely cooked. Mutton khima was awesome. Thambda and Pandhra rassa was simply best. Sukha mutton was brilliant. This is a small place but they serve great food from the bottom of their heart. Ekda tari yaa raawji la jaaun bagha.. Assal Kolhapuri food..
Gaurav Shukla
First of all the food was not filling. I e the quantity is not sufficient, for the price they charge. The taste was no different or anyhow any dish can be highlighted. If you are looking for casual non veg lunch there are other options around in baner serving same cuisine for lesser price and more quantity.
Foodgrapher
This one was suggested by one my colleagues so decided to try. Ambience was good. Ordered their Ya Rawaji special mutton thali. It had mutton fry and mutton curry. Fry was ok but curry was awesome. It also had tambda- pandhara rassa and solkadhi, that too was nice. Finaly they have two varieties of rice one was indrayani rice with ghee, other was Alani-bhat (indrayani rice in yellow mutton curry and ghee). Both were amazing. Good place to eat non-veg thali in baner

असल कोल्हापुरी भोजन !

We tried their Yaa Rawji special Kolhapuri mutton thali, yaa rawji special chicken thali, chicken shetkari thali and chicken mini thali, chicken fry and omg everything was aprateem! Brilliantly cooked chicken and mutton with the right amount of flavors. They serve it with soft freshly made bhakris and soul satisfying soul kadhi ♥️

We spent a good 2.5 hours here because we couldn't get enough of this place! Haha

If you're a chicken/mutton lover, I urge you to try this place. You'll love the experience. :)

Yesterday we went there for dinner. Ordered chicken hundi and bhakari. The taste was so so. And Cost is too much with no taste nd no ambience.
Gauri
The authencity of maharashtrian food rather kolhapuri style recipes is maintained very well. Service is very good. Polite staff. Indrayani rice is recommended along with shetkari rassa chicken.
Geeta Kshirsagar
Utterly unprofessional... I had to wait for hours for food delivery... which they had no Courtesy to reply if the order was reaching the concern person or not.
Akshay Kadam
The Mini chicken thali here is too good for an afternoon lunch as well as sumptuous dinner. They provide unlimited curry (pandhra and tambda rassa ) which is to die for.one should definitely try the mini chicken thali for sure.
Value for money : 4.5/5
Food: 4.5/5

Delicious food.. we had ordered mutton thali and chicken thali.. Kheema from mutton thali was yummy.. Rest everything was tasty too.. no doubt..

If you have authentic Malvani cuisine on mind, then think no more! Yaa Rawaji located at a prime spot on the busy road of Baner is where you should head to. This place has all the right quotient as a traditional marathi eatery, be it food or ambience and decor. It attracts huge crowd during the dinner time for their range of thalis.

I wanted to try some surmai in coastal style, so thought of giving this place a try.

• Surmai Thali (5/5) - In the Thali you get Surmai Fry, Malvani Fish curry, Bombil Fry, Sukha Zinga (small prawns), Bhakari, Solkadi and Ghee Rice. You can ask for more curry or rice if needed. This Thali is humongous and is very fulfilling.

• Egg omelette roll (3/5) - also tried this one, but honestly didn't impress my tastebuds. It maybe just me because I don't like the taste of raw coconut in Savoury dishes, but then could appease the ones who do. Otherwise, portion wise good enough for 2.

All in all, this place is a must try for ones looking to try traditional Maharashtrian food.
Rahul Chavan
Been here after a long search of another hotel which we eventually came to know is closed permanently. Read quite a lot good reviews about this restaurant and we wanted to have a good maharashtrian meal so went here. There was waiting for about half an hour and after this much waiting we were very excited to try some delicious assal Maharashtrian food. We have ordered Shetkari Rassa Chicken Thali and Veg Thali.

But to our utter disappointment both of these were okay taste wise but nowhere near to the Spicy part of maharashtrian Thali. It was very less spicy. If a real Shetkari comes here he will never come this place again. Tambda rassa was also not spicy.

Giving 3 stars as ambience and hygiene is good. Also, chicken pieces were fresh and good.
Prashant Jadhav
Awesome food. A good place for mutton lovers. Chicken was not much tasty. People who loves mutton can try mutton sukha thali with unlimited Tambada and pandhara rassa.
Sabiha Rv
Went to this place for team lunch ..
Place is a bit small and has waiting...
We had the chicken thali , egg thali and prawn fry ..
Chicken thali had chicken masala , egg wati , chicken rasam , bhakri , son kadi , ghee rice...
Food was really gud ..
service was also gud

Absolutely fantastic food! Been here twice and it's been a delight. The first time we tried some chicken thali , bangda curry with rice and Sol kadhi. Although the rice was a bit undercooked the first time, the rest of the dishes were great. The second time we went for dinner and ordered the special mutton thali(I totally recommend), surmai fish thali and sol kadhi. The pandra and Tamra rassa, mutton fry as well Sol kadhi is out of the world so good! The fish was very fresh and the rice was well cooked this time as well.
The servers are also very polite and helpful.
For me it was a complete value for money. Will definitely be back soon.

If you love to eat non-veg food definitely this place is for you, tried prawns and chicken mesmerizing taste...worth every penny...it is always said never judge a book by its cover, its true in case of restaurants too..never judge a restaurant by its size😋...Service was good and on time...loved it and would like to visit again...though it is 27 km far....but taste does matter🤣

For a long time I avoided this place thinking that this won't be good. But eventually I landed up there and to my surprise the food was pretty good. The place is small but good food is what matters the most to all the foodies.

There are limited options for veg people. It serves kolhapur and malvani style food. There are various thali options.

We ordered fried prawns, chicken sukha, ghee pulka in nonveg and pithla thali in veg.
All these dishes were good.
Kokam kadhi was served as complimentary item.
Ash Mandlik
One of the best places in Pune to have traditional Maharashtrian non veg. I've noticed that Puneri restaurants find it difficult to perfect the Pandhara Rassa, but not this one. You will not regret going here. Also, they give the traditional type of masala pan after meal. Very good experience.
Karan Gadgil
A nice little place to go with family or even friends .
Brief comment on each dish that we ordered.
Mutton Thali - Enjoyed each item provided in the thali thoroughly.

Prawns Biryani - A perfect combination of all spices and condiments and in just the right quantity. The big size and freshness of prawns could be felt. Although a little more quantity of prawns would have made perfection.

Pomfret fry- Had a juicy and uniform taste and "wasn't " even a slight bit oily.

Pithla Thali - Everything tasted nice and gave that indigenous taste .

All in all great food and good service.
Wait time could be made less.
Amit Sonar
yaa Rawji special Shetkari thali ₹365.

Very authentic thali I ever tried. Chicken quality is good.
Very soft and juicy chicken.
Bhakri size and quality is worth.
Must try place on baner road

I went to this place for dinner... Impromtu find.. !
Craved for big prawns and a fish thali... I ordered for Fried Prawns - Big size.. the coolest part is they serve big and regular sized prawns .. just that if u looking for big size just the qty would be lesser which is still 7 pcs..which is big badass sized prawns... that's awesome ! Surmai Thali was superb ... Big fan big fan of this place now..service was great.. they served Sol Kadi extra servings.. which is a plus plus !!

If u r in search of Maharashtrian eatery @Baner, Ya Rawaji is a must try.We tried their Chicken Thali, admittedly it was palatable.Chicken ghee roast was at its best, the taste and aroma may remind u grandma's kitchen.
Chicken rassa nicely complemented wth
chapati/bhakri n ghee rice. Downside was bland ambience and staff should be more professed.Service was disappointing.

Food: 5/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
Service : 5/5
Value for Money: 4.8/5

I have underestimated thus place. But thank God I landed up here. Maharashtrian food at it's best. They actually have some different Marathi food then usual.

Bhakris were amazing, We ordered 1 Chicken suka and another green chicken which I actually forgot the name but was amazing.

There pandra rassa was damn aromatic and superbly awesome.

We ordered half portions each and it was more than sufficient for two of us.

I would definitely recommend this place to visit.

1 Note to Management : Do not compromise with the food quality...

This place is located on main baner road. If you want to have home kinda food, this is the place you should eat.

I had prawns thali and mutton thali here. It's good. Prawns thali was very good. Interior and service is good as well..

I would rate,

Food - 4.5/5
Quantity - 5/5
Service - 5/5

100% Authentic Maharashtrian food. Usually such restaurants are messy, dirty and crowded. Glad I found this place which is different.

Great service. Friendly owner and caring staff.

Highly recommended!

Authentic Marathi food which many people may like. Good to try fish curries, not much for veggies. They have good bhakri, solkadi and other Marathi cuisines. Service was very slow, we joked that went for fishing to make food fresh. Had to wait for 30 mins after placing the order. Personally I didn’t liked it.
Amrutraj Gore
Ekdam zakas. Do try special mutton thali. Jowar bhakri is better than bajra. Perfect quantity. Even though it sounds weird, try shetkari mutton rassa with indrayani rice. And wait for it . . Ghee!!! Service is good too.
Soham Deshpande
visited today with colleagues. very nice veg and non veg food. we ordered chicken thali and paneer dishes. pandhara rassa was awesome which reminded me taste from my native place Kolhapur.
chapati and bhakri was great and over all experience was really nice.
Sandeep Singh
Ordered Surmai Curry. Fish was so hard as it felt like rubber. I am even not sure how old the fish will be. It was a total waste of money.
I was so frustrated, have thrown the dish immediately without taking photos. Even road side eateries server better food.

The all India strike had made it a mundane affair.
Decided to move out and walk towards the closest available joint to fill my starving tummy.
As I walked out if the lane, I happened to see "Yaa Rawji". The name excited me. I checked the menu on Zomato and immediately shortlisted the evergreen chicken thali. I didn't want to waste any time as I was extremely hungry... And the hotel staff didn't disappoint as well. Nor did the food.
The tambda and pandra rassa were average. But the Chicken fry had a distinct Maharashtrian flavour. The one which stated on my pallate for long. The huge chaoatis are very filling. I didn't go for the Bhakri, as I didn't want to risk anything that day. But will try it the next time I visit...yes, I shall visit again. The shetkari rassa on the menu is my next order for sure. I would suggest inclusion of some sweet dishes. After a spicy meal, something sweet would really help...

Yaa rawaji
One of the best food I loved here is non veg food.
But now I've ordered mutton ghee fry one of the worst wat I've ordered online through my friend phone.
Please look at the image I'm confused wat was this actually.
I don't know whether they serve main course like this?

Best nonveg food I have recommended my friends.
Always came and enjoyed thalis as well.
But now onwards I won't recommend

I'd rather prefer going to KP now and enjoy food @maasa

Briyani was good with taste but why the cook put all raw spices in small peaces I don't know which spoiled the taste. rest is fine

food delivery is on time.

worse support from Zomato, fake/fraud information on Zomato site about Rawaji Restaurant, making customers fool and after payment customer have no choice instead waiting for order delivery
Chaitali Labde
Food is awesome compared to other kolhapuri thali outlets, mutton fry and ghee rice is the best. Ambience is a bit boring, service is good and warm.
Sunita Punwani Sabhani
Last weekend in Pune we were looking for pocket friendly authentic Maharashtra eatery. Good friend Zomato was of great help... The name itself, Yaa Rawaji ( translated loosely welcome sir!) seemed interesting enough to warrant a try!

A decision well taken. The mutton Thali comprising mutton masala, kheema vatti, two soft jawari bhakhris laden with toop, tambra and pandhra rassa, generous helping of soul kadi, kashumbar and fragrant soft rice again with a dollop of toop finished the mouth watering meal.., all at a princely price of Rs.360/-. Impressed and satiated we ordered some food to pack and bring back to aamchi Mumbai.

One more stop discovered in Peshwai Pune.
Rohan Borawke
excellent food... healthy no colour used in gravy...same taste of chicken as my granny used to make..👍

Better Biryani than most serving home delivery on Zomato! Will order again.

Food - 4.5
Rate - 4.0
Ambience - 3.5

If you are food lover and especially looking for authentic Kolhapuri non-veg (Maharashtrian cuisine), you must visit Yaa Rawaji.

Must try out from the menu -
All thalis are awesome - Chicken, Mutton, Surmai and Crab
Pandhra Rassa, Sol Kadhi are tastier than those in Kolhapur (Paradise, Palash)
Its a perfect place for authentic local nonveg thali. The taste is amazing. I took special mutton thali with a combination of Shetkari rassa and mutton fry. Another good point about this place is, they always give fresh made bhakris of your choice. Must try

Ambience - Nothing much to write about

Food - Tried Palak paneer with parathas which was nice

Service is good

Pricing is high considering the ambience and food quality
Rajkunwar Belsare
Outrageous pricing of sea food! Had ordered 2 pomfret fry. The quantity was so little n the taste was way too below average. They had simply fried it nothing special about it! If u r charging so high, it surely isn't for sucha magnanimous quantity that u r serving, atleast improve the taste!!!! Never ever gonna order again!

Update 12/july: Visited this place again. Had their surmai thali and mutton ghee roast starter
Lip smacking as usual!

Cosy place near the end of baner road. Awesome food here! We ordered the surmai fry starter and shared the special mutton thali.. totally yummy! The discount via eatigo was the cherry on top :)

I ordered food from here and they were not ready to even pick the call after 1 hr also, the manager should at least pick up the phone so that we can ask them about the details about delivery
Wowwww !!!
It had been a really long time since I had some authentic maharashtrian non-veg food, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised by the quality of food that this food joint provided.

We had ordered for a Chicken Shetkari Rassa, Dhangari Chicken, Butter Chapatis and Biryani Plain Rice.
The Chicken Shetkari Rassa was perfect- Not too spicy, not too bland- just perfect. Honestly speaking, it reminded me of the Chicken Rassa my mom used to make during our school days, it was just too good, absolutely lip-smacking.
The Dhangari Chicken was sharp and spicy in contrast to the Shetkari Rassa, and thoroughly enjoyable.
The above two dishes in combination with the Soft butter chapatis made up a nearly flawless Chicken Dinner with a lil bit of sharpness and spiciness to up the flavours.
The quantity of these two dishes was literally huge, and more than enough for atleast 3 people, all of them voracious eaters like myself.

All in all, the most delicious Marathi chicken dinner I have had until now.
Absolutely fantastic cooking guys, hope you keep up the quality of the same.

👍👍👍👍👍👍
Rhishikesh Magdum
I visited this place for a lunch. It’s a small but neat place.

I tried chicken thali. The quantity was really good. They serve hot chapatis which I liked the most. Chicken fry was good but I was little dissolved with tambda rassa and rice.

I think it’s good option for maharashtrian food in Baner area.

Update:
I visited the place again last week. This time we tried mutton shetkari rassa thali(#recommend). It was amazing. The mutton was well cooked, rassa was superb.
Tanvi Sovani Palshikar
I have ordered from this place many a times and their food quality is amazing.
They tweak the spice level as per your taste and even the oil! ☺️
Their special chicken thali is my Favourite
And the chapatis will surely get a special mention! Out of the world soft!
I have been twice here so far. Both times I tried seafood and food is damn good. I have been to many seafood restaurants in Pune but to me no one could match the home cooked tasty food you get in Konkan but this one did. I had Bangda thali first time and surmai thali along with prawns the next time. Food was fresh, well cooked, too tasty, good quantity. Happy to find this place nearby my home.

Well one fine day was going through Eatigo application and found Yaa Rawji restaurant in list, so thought of going there and finally I went with my friends. Great service.great suggestions and variety available. Yummm soup in a cold rainy 😣winter day. Ww dropped in for a quick bite and were warmly welcomed by the staff and the owner. Nice gesture to suggest a warm soup for an annoying rainy evwning in November .great will visit again

We have been visited first time and we ordered chicken thali and egg thali. The taste is very nice and we enjoyed the taste.
The chicken thali served with 3 types of rassa.
But I would like to suggest instead of the rassa they can give dry chicken as well.
Nikhil Deshbhratar
The restaurant has a different taste which might seem on a spicier side to some. Me being from Nagpur liked the taste very much. They have solkadhi which is made by themselves and is NOT SWEET. Can't ask for anything better.
Geetanaik49
Food is good and tasty.we had ordered chicken and egg thali. Chicken was good but the egg thali is not worth of money should have at least an omlette or bhurji as part of thali.
But overall the taste is ultimate.
Biryani Follower
Everything was good until I tasted their Biryani , it was so sober with no flavours and rice was little raw , Thalis have enough quantity to fill up and good varieties , little over priced when compared with the taste they offer , service was quick friendly staff .over all a good experience

Had option of adding bombil fry so added but they called n said they Don't serve with thali combo n even after I accepting that I didn't get sukka zinga
