Review Kanak Restaurant - Pune

Good restaurant. In day time it is family restaurant and in night its ambiences just become like a pub. Best time to visit this place is after 12 o clock in the night. Reasonable rates, good food and the Indian Baithak is the USP of this place. It's have ample of parking space. If you starving middle of the night and want to grab some good food and drinks then it is the right place for you.

The location of this restaurant is following New Airport Road, Sakore Nagar Rd, Yerawada, Pune, Maharashtra 411014. The important thing is that please aware Kanak is less family restaurant and more a bar. You'll find the various varieties of liquor and beer here. The food menu is good and the quality is also awesome, however, they are costly. Price of liquor and food too aren't economic and this is the only reason to give them the four star. However, take this as an exception as the crowd is always almost full there. #CottonKabab is their famous dish if you'll talk about non-vegetarian food and #Daal-Khichdi for veg lovers. They have a wonderfully interior atmosphere and seating. The ambience is also pretty relaxing with dim lights. Coming to the prices, they are definitely not expensive! Recommended - Paneer Tikka, Veg Manchurian, Chicken Dragon. I believe that you'll enjoy your time here.

Good food, good ambience and relaxed sitting defines Kanak. Must try Dal khichdi and matar masala an amazing authentic North Indian taste. The place offers drinks too so do enjoy the ambience and couple of drinks along with a list of starters to tickle your taste buds.

I have visited this restaurant 2 times and both were late night around 2 am :D their food is delicious! Lights are dim and ambience is light and delightful. There’s just one issue that there is no sign board for smokers, so people smoke inside the restaurant also. I don’t like to sit near a smoker so it really bothers me. Else everything is fine. They have a more comfortable dining for families. A big thumbs up👍🏻

Good place to chill with friends. Not many food options available but tandoori chicken is quite good. Decent crowd and reasonable ambience. Favorable place for after work and late night hangouts. Especially when there is a match going on it's fun to watch it with your friends and colleagues on the projector screen (if you are lucky enough to get the tables in front of the screen ;).

A very nice place to kill your late night carvings. Staffs are good and have manners. Good option for late night booze at decent price. They have two kind of seating arrangement : tables and low table. But for low table should be with family, (one girl mandatory).

Kanak is a life saver restaurant. It is open almost till morning. Both types of veg and non veg foods are available here. And obviously alcohol beverages are also available here. There is a separate place to sit for people coming with girls or family. Rate of food is moderate here and quality of food is good. I and my friend mostly take veg crispy and chicken lollipop. Both the dish are very tasty. Apart from this you can also have dinner. Music is played from phone ( YouTube or any other music player) here. Only English songs are played. No hindi songs. There is only one snag at this restaurant that is you don't get any happy hours here. Also there is no discount. But all in all you will like this place.

Good place to go with friends of you need booze late in the night. Has a decent ambience and also has a baithak seating that I prefer personally. People with similar likings will like the place. Pricing is standard.

Very nice food just Lil disappointed cause of choice of sitting, I was with my friend who is also a guy who came from Mexico n we were not allowed to sit on the other floor level sittings just because we were both guys. So upsetting this part rest all was good n really amazing food. I loved the food.

Ambience is okay. Go for low tables where you can sit on ground (on mattress ) stretching your legs. Prices of bar items I found to be on higher side considering overall experience in this place.

This place is always a midnight hunger crasher for me.. <br/>After late night pubbing or drinking and its midnight and hunger strikes and also you are up for some extra alcohol, then this is a place you should always crash into. <br/>My 2:00 am weekend hunger are always sorted Kanak. Hi, if you are ordering from Zomato then don't do that you may not receive your full order. I ordered 1 chicken item and Naan. I received only chicken and NO NAAN. I called the restaurant they didn't receive call. I also complained to Zomato but they didn't do anything. The delivery boy simply answered that he brought whatever he was given by the restaurant staff.

Been here 1st with my office friends. Tried cottage chiken cheese kebab. Awesome test, mouth watering it was. Could not try more dishes here. But will surely come back & will try again.

I visited this place on 6th April,2018 with 2 of my friends, The food quality was good however,slightly ovepriced.The service is good if you have a large group of people.People do not come here for ambience. One speciality is, this restaurant is open up to quite late. It is more of a desi -dhaba Style restaurant where you can barge in with a group of 8-10 boys and the enjoy the heck out. Not might be very suitable for families ,but a group of friends can have a good time here and can enjoy a lot.<br/>You can surely visit with your friend gang!

they need to seriously work on thier staff management, they are really rude. surprisingly there are no desert options. The staff really need to understand that a place doesn't last long if the customer service is not upto the mark.

Very bad restaurant for drinks and food added to that is the rude behaviour of their staff. Once a waiter aruged with me with a foul tone for the mistake made in the bill. It all happened in front of the owner but he showed reluctance to make him stop. Also the waiting period for drink everytime went past half an hour. We have stopped and avoiding it is also recommended.

Was lookin for a late night drinking place. This was suggested by my friend. It was quite full for a Monday night. Their low seating is very comfortable for long drinkin scenes. We ordered chicken handi and and naan, which was yum... little expensive though. But late night drinking is sorted...

Need to seriously work on their Customer Service. They will treat you good if you are going in a big group as the bill Expectation is higher otherwise if it's 2-3 people, you have to call them thrice for just one order. <br/>The staff wont behave friendly or give focus to you if you are alone or with just one more person.<br/>The only good thing about this place is that it is open till 2:00 a.m. in the morning. More to that it's good for late-night alcohol and food.

The 5 stars are just for the food! Tasty is an understatement. We had ordered their Murg cotton kebab, murg kalimiri, murg nizami, murg pahadi kebab, murg kasturi and all of them were delicious. Rates are also very reasonable.

Best cozy place for After Party !! If you are bhookad type and still hungry after party or want to grab that last beer then this is the right choice . Meet Rocky there he will give the best . For young couples nice couches are there where they can sit , chit chat and get little cozy , and seprate section for the boys. Watch IPL , do bakar or what ever you like . Best part is it's open till 3 am. Awesome tasty food with chilled beer available . For after party love must go, and couple looking for buget place then this is the nemo of finding nemo;) . Enjoy

The food is just superb !!. I have been to the place a couple of times and the quality is always consistent and upto the mark. The only problem with the place is t has lots of rude waiters who will not bother to serve you at all. I would have given 5, but just because of few rude people its 4.

Rating it 4 because the fooood. The food is sooooooo good and the restaurant is open all night. It's the best place to eat when you're really hungry after a party. Been here so many times. A place which will serve you food after your party. Nothing exceptional about the place except that it serves food to all the creatures who tend to get hungry after all the booze and dancing. The food tastes good when you're drunk. But if you've got home cooked food, go home and have food

Well yes - a 1 rating, read on and you would get to know why. Despite just an average feedback from friends, We went there at around 11 on a Tuesday. The restaurant was barely crowded with hardly 2% of tables occupied. We chose to sit at a ground seating to which the waiter came and asked us to sit on other tables - yes, absolutely 'asked' and not 'requested' citing the reason that it was for more people.<br/>Me and my friends laughed at the thought that an empty restaurant was so much worried about who should sit where. On an odd weekday this was the concern for the waiters there, not 'serving the guest', not 'being courteous' and not even 'being humble'.<br/>On saying that we would shift in case a big group comes up( knowing that 3 more giant tables for groups were vacant) a new waiter came and got adamant that the table should not be occupied. By this time, we were really pissed off and wondered what a stupid restaurant we have come to. <br/>We all picked our bags and left. And yes off course none of the waiters or manager came up to ask us to get back while we left - no wonder why the restaurant was empty except a few men smoking and drinking. Basically the place is not good for family or even couples. Should be the last place on earth where one would go to eat.<br/><br/>My dear Kanak, seriously grow up guys.

Visited this place twice once I tried pure veg and once pure non veg. It didn't disappoint me at all. Alcohol is cheap and even the food without compromising on the taste.

Food quality is very poor,Very costly as compaired to other restaurent in same area...service time is min 45 min..so order main course when u reach there as early as possible.

My family visited Kanak Restaurant. It is a dimly lit restaurant on an unlit road, very unsafe. The food was pathetic, the dal was burnt. The Owner was so arrogant and disrespectful, as he was doing us a favor by giving us food. He was quite abusive<br/>The restaurant is open even after legally allowed to do so. If the police decide to raid the restaurant, the customers could also face inconvenience with the Police. Definitely not recommended, as it is quite seedy and down market.

A good place if you are getting late for your food. I always thought this place would be not upto the mark looking at it, as it appears to be a garage from outside. But, if you want some good food to satisfy you and don't want to get holes in your pocket then give it a try. Food is too tasty and mouth watering. I have tried Chicken Tikka Masala, Veg Kadhai here, and trust me it's the best of all. They also serve alcohol at a reasonable rate here. Thus this place gives you a homely feeling with nice sitting arrangement and good quite ambience. :)

Ideal road side dhaba style food place , in the way to Symbiosis college , towards Airport . Food is nice and served at proper time . It also has a different setup like wooden low table , mattress set on the floor - which kind of gives a feeling of Chawki dhaani . It has a private provision of those who want to drink alcohol .

I have been to this place a number of times. It's an average place. The have a rich menu and food is tasty. Ambience wise not much good. They must work on it. Loo facilities are worse. For boys it's better to pee under sky.The best part about this is that it's opened till 3 am. Alcohol is also cheap. If they can provide better ambience and other basic facilities, this place will be more popular.

Came here with my brother and his 3 year old kid. They didn't let us sit in family section but asked us to move to a bachelor section where people were smoking. On telling them that we have a kid and would like to sit here in family section, waiters were rude and didn't agree. Useless place to waste your time.

I visited this place with my school friends on sort of a reunion. The ambience of the place is average with on the floor sitting and a dhaba type feel. Coming to the food. We ordered tandoori chicken and chilli chicken for starters the food was awesome. Only concern was with the roti and naan they were like chewing gum... :)

I visited this restaurant with office colleagues, due to late servings our visited turnout to be very disappointing it took 5-8 minutes to serve the masala papad, and 20 mins for main course, when we asked captain about our order we got response "aa raha hai" so this didn't convincing at all, in main course we order the chi.lababdar it was way to spicy. <br/><br/>Indian sitting was very comfortable but for that your group should be more 5-6 people.<br/><br/>you can visit this place if you are not in hurry!! :)

Even after midnight no one asks you to leave early, staff is patient and tolerant. They are open until 4:00 AM or so depending on crowd. They have separate section for people with ladies in the group and separate section for only boys gang. <br/>Mostly, its our weekdays hanging spot as its open for late and close in the city to reach out for.<br/><br/>Kanak is a blessing in disguise.

kanak is sort of dhaba cum restaurant quite and calm place to relax and eat..with friends on evenings..the seating arrangement is desi baithak type..food is lovely,nice quantity,worth the money,any sports matches are always displayed on LCD,ample parking space,prompt service.<br/>so a 5/5

The Owner is a nutcase and so are the waiters. Around two weeks back I visited Kanak with my friends to boose and dine. The waiters were constantly misbehaving and we had to take a stand to make them realize that we were the guests. Tonight, on the way to airport to pickup a friend I thought of quenching my thirst with a beer so checked in to Kanak. And the moment I entered the waiter started acting smart regarding the table I could sit. I walked out and decided to never go back again. The owner, waiter and everyone associated with Kanak has attitude for god knows what reason. Food is acceptable but service is worst. If you have self respect don't go this place as they make you feel that they are doing you a favor by serving you food and alcohol. I have never been mistreated anywhere like this place in my entire life. There are many places who serve good food so there is no additional reason that one should be wanting to try out Kanak.

One of the best Daal makhani you can get hold of in Pune. Typo Dhaba type set-up (though prices are of a decent restaurant). Service is good, location is pretty strategic, pretty close from the airport. The only place where you can go even at 1:00 - 2:00 am , even on weekdays.

Arrogant owner... Been to this place last night... Right after NH7.. One can imagine how hungry we would have been... We were a group of 4 guys but despite having vacant tables did not allow us to sit, reasons:<br/>- tables in one section is meant for families therefore not given to us. Their definition of families is "couples", doesn't matter if they are sitting and boozing quarters. <br/>- tables is another section are meant for large groups i.e tables for 8. Although we saw 1/3 unoccupied and other 1/3 occupied by 2 to 4 persons only. <br/>Only after waiting for 20 minutes did we get a table.. Not only that.. We requested if we could place the order till we don't get the table but the generous owner did not agree. <br/>The food was decent but after an experience like this, may not go again..

We were here for quick dinner and liked the food.<br/><br/>Recommended Dishes: Chicken Nizami Tikka<br/><br/>Food: We ordered Chicken Nizami tikka and Mutton Biryani and both exceeded our expectations.<br/>Succulent pieces of chicken expertly marinated, spiced and cooked. Kebab was almost melting in mouth. Mutton biryani was also treat to eat. A long grained cooked rice with the right quantity of biryani masala and perfectly cooked mutton. This made us reorder one more portion of biryani.<br/><br/>Service: The order taker sounded bit rude initially on being asked for suggestions but after a while he was okay to talk with. We went by his recommendations and did not regret. Service was also quick and courteous.<br/><br/>Ambience: One of those rare restaurants in the city which have sit-down on floor sitting. A Feet high table with modest mattresses laid on both side. Comfortable for those who are comfortable sitting on floor for long time. They also do have tables with chairs and sofa seats. They have apparently made sure that people not comfortable sitting down won’t be reluctant or uncomfortable dining here.<br/>As far as lighting goes, it is just well lit to have your food. Overall ambience gives an impression that this is not a place for nuclear family, but definitely for friends, groups and joint family get-together. Groups seemed enjoying their time here.<br/><br/>Value for Money: Yes. INR 770 for a kebab and 2 biryanis that tasty isn’t very expensive, is it?

It was recommended by my friend for Whome it's a go to place for food and booze even late night so had no option but to be dragged there along with him. It's close to viman nagar area looks like a make shift shed from outside inside they have shamiyana kind of sitting for big groups and normal sitting table crowd by the looks of it was either coming from party kind with last drink in mind to hungry after party kind to who Actuality went there to party in secluded joint kind of people. Liquor is served by quatre so people looking for it can visit here also the fact its open till late so it's a added advantage. Food is Ok was made to try a lot of so called Oriental dishes nothing impressed me a lot punjabi was Ok but I would prefer the khichdi served here over everything else. Service is Ok

I saw this dhaba/ hotel si many times before. While travelling to vimannagr its on the way. This time I decided earlier in the eve to go there to have food.<br/>We entered this place at 8.30. It wasn't too crowdy at that time. What was new there! As per regular hotel there were tables n chairs but also a place where we can sit down on 'mattress' gadda with lower wooden tables.<br/>After few drinks we ordered our food. Kanak special Murg Razalla and butter naan.<br/>Food was good. Dont know about veg food as we havent tried that.<br/>Will try that next time.<br/>Only complaint is service. Service was very slow. We asked waiter too many times to serve food as we waited for almost half n hour.<br/>Final verdict..<br/>Food 3.5/5<br/>Service 2.5/5<br/>Price 4/5

If you are looking for a no-nonsense place to sit down and have good food in Viman Nagar, this is it. Kanak has tables as well as ground seating and the ambiance is OK. The place serves alcohol too- mostly by the quarter. The food is good and deently prized. I have tried the bhuna chicken, chilly chicken, mutton tawa and chicken tikka masala on various occassions at this place. All in all, a good place to chill and kill some time with your pals

Food and ambience is awesome. If you want to have Dhaba like experience. This is the right place. <br/><br/>However need to improve on the behaviour of Staffs

Another late night place for food and drinks. Ambience is so so. Lots of mosquitoes which is irritating. Indian sitting style is very uncomfortable. Food is really good and worth your money. Try Kanak's special. Service is a bit slow and casual. Rated 3 only on the basis of food taste and quality.

The best place to have food in pune, amazing place to be with family and friends, mouth watering food, friendly atmosphere, prompt service, comfortable seating, wide range of food menu, and very affordable, and the only place which is open till late 3am specially for party people in pune! I think even 5 stars are less for kanak restaurant.... Enjoy the food

While coming back from a party,(we were late,tired & hungry) one of my friend suggested to have dinner in Kanak !! Again a place explored by us for late night dinner, a very comfortable & cozy place to be when you are around in late nights !!<br/><br/>Ambience is very decent, you have table & chair to sit as well as nice & comfortable floor sitting. Service is fast & we got our food on time..<br/>a typical north Indian food is served here, & food is just wow. <br/><br/>Me & my vegetarian friend order Paneer Kadai it was very nice, perfect panjabi style preparation. I had it with butter roti, what a combination. My friends had something in non veg (don't remember the name), they were satisfied too<br/><br/>Such a nice food in odd timings..... simply wow !! Loved this place, my rating 3.5 out of 5.

Lucky to have found this place for night owls :P. Station's become a so boring option for late night dinner, conveniently located, walkable from the main road, its the place to go for late night cheap food and spirits!! They happily oblige you<br/><br/>The food is nothing outstanding, but masaledar and decent dhaba wala types. <br/><br/>The floor seating is a welcome change, lie back and chew on!!.. The staff are over friendly though, and i was subject to "mera dil bhi bol raha tha ki aapko yehi chahiye" while my guyfriend was away ! :O<br/><br/>And you are forced to order mineral water, coz when you say 'regular', the staff will tell you ' its non-filtered'... :D<br/><br/>With the so less 'proper post mid-night food' options in pune, this place is definitely one of the best!!

At last here is a place for the late-nighters like us. So, next time - you are late & still want to drink along with some decent North Indian food... Kanak is the place. Nice / cozy seating, casual theme, helpful staff, inexpensive food & drinks - will add on to your surprise. Some mosquitoes yes! But thats fine. Pretty much the best option available for affordable food / drink till the wee hours. Way to go!

This restaurant has one of the friendly location around Pune Airport and its open "till 3 AM almost everyday"..........<br/>The food is simply amazing...rather its finger licking......and pure authentic.<br/><br/>And, all the praises doesn't get stop here......Kanak has very courteous staff, pretty quick delivery time..and nice ambiance.
