I have been visiting this restaurant since 2003. The taste is still the same.
Staff was quick in serving your order. The only thing I was not happy about was with medu wada as I think it was double fried before serving, which anyone can make out looking at its colour.
The sandwich, idli and french fries were delicious.
I would recommend visiting this place for snacks!

Vedang Shevade
Perfect place for morning coffee/tea.
Filter coffee is good and can be customised as per your requirement.
Upma is simply amazing which tastes really good. A must try for sure. Bread Butter Toast is also good having good amount of butter in it.
Service is little slow that have a scope of improvement. May have to remind waiter about the order after 10 minutes.
Rest all is good. No complaints. A must visit place for morning katta coffee / tea.

Great taste and service was so fast and nice, one of the best things is that this is cost effective. I will definitely come here again.

This is a good restraunt for veg people. It's nearby saras baug . We tried paneer tikka masala and Biryani , both were superb in taste , texture and presentation.
On emore thing , you'll get all foods in reasonable price. I would recommend people to try paneer tikka masala once .

Five star for dum aloo Punjabi and paneer cheese masala. Awesome taste.
Also ate aloo Paratha and methi Paratha. Mango mastani was good as well.
Everything was served piping hot. Too much crowded though. Parking on road.

Year after year, this place has maintained it's quality!Ambience is simple, good and brightly lit. Open air seating arrangement as well as indoor arrangement is available..Separate air conditioned section is provided for family too. Washroom facility available. Wheelchair accessibilty available. When sitting in open air gets uncomfortable, this place has provision for water being sprinkled in mist form to keep the air cool.
Serves vegetarian cuisine with range varying from snacks to chinese to regular punjabi dishes. You might have to wait your turn on weekends but on week days most likely that you will get seated immediately on arrival. Economical as far as pricing goes. Food quality and quantity both deserve appreciation.. Service is good because staff serves you promptly. Cleanliness is well maintained. Parking available. A good and economical place to visit more than once, for a vegetarian meal.

Kalpana is one of our favourite and frequently visited restaurants. The place is always crowded, thanks to its prime location. But the staff greets you well and makes you comfortable either in finding a good table or waiting outside. The food is nice and service is prompt. The ambience is fresh and clean. The air conditioned room is small but cosy and the open seating area is busy yet convenient. They offer a great variety of South Indian snacks, North Indian meal items, and juices. My favourites are Sabudana Vada and of course, Coffee in the large glass. The rates are reasonable and the food never disappoints you. Must try whether you want a quick bite or a lazy dining experience. It is also a good meeting point due to its proximity to Swargate, Tilak Road, and Sarasbaug. Two-wheeler parking is available in front of the restaurant and car parking can be found around Sanas Ground or in the Girija lane. Take your friends and family here for a good time.

Nostalgia and Culinary Delights !!!
This hotel holds a special place in my heart due to its delectable food and cherished memories. Despite the recent increase in noise levels, the overall charm and culinary experience make it a must-visit destination.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks everything is good at taste.
The area around the hotel is clean. There is space for waiting as well.
The staff is well mannered.
There could be problem for parking your vehicles at times.

Liked the food and prompt service even though it was crowded. Hotel staff managed it well. Going to visit it once again.

I have been visiting this restaurant since I was small. A very nice, friendly and family restaurant. Place is really well maintained. Cleanliness is also taken care.
The entire staff and hospitality is sincerely good.
Must try their 1) Masala Papad 2) Manchow Soup 3) Pav Bhaji & lastly Tawa Pulav.
Entire menu of this restaurant is nice but above mentioned are my fav’s from this restaurant.
They also have AC room seating which is a +point.
All modes of payment accepted like Gpay/Phone pay, Debit/Credit Card, Cash, etc.
Service-5/5

A simple family Restaurant, worth for money, too good taste. Roti sabzi any kind tastes good. Once, bored with roti sabzi I tried tomato omlette. God, it tastes like heaven. I go there just to eat tomoto omlette. It's different and it's tasty. With South Indian chutneys of three different kinds, ghee and bread. A Perfect combination.
Kunal Relekar
They serve very unhygienic dishes. I personally experience the dishes served to me was of good quality. When I complained to waiter's they're agreed. The serving plates too are not maintained properly.

I went here to get parcel. I asked the person on counter to suggest me a north Indian main course, I specifically told that I want something with more gravy and less and finely chopped vegetables. But he suggested me the dish veg rajdhani which was a bit on the higher side of the price and did not meet my specifications at all rather it had very less amount of gravy and very big chunks of vegetables.

Good place for South Indian snacks. Sadha Rawa Dosa is awesome. Morning Upma is good.Filter coffee is excellent
Plain cheese toast is awesome & cheese lovers will love it.

One of the oldest restaurant near sarasbauag. This comes next to Hotel Wishwa.

We had ordered masala dosa, kadhi khichadi, soup , puri bhaji and pav bhaji.

All food were great, but specially liked their kadhi khichadi which was awesome. Kudos to chef .

Smooth and light kaadhi khichadi rocked amoung all other dishes.

This place is mostly crowded. 4W parking, you may do it near peshave udyan parking area.

Keep it up team and good luck for your future journey.

Proximity and recent renovation was the reason we chose this for casual weekday family dinner.
As we entered, the board announced Neer Dosa as specials and available till 7 pm! we ordered it immediately as it was already 6.55... it was good served with chutney, samabr and a sweet preparation of jaggery coconut. while generally i like the neer dosa very thin... this was a lot thicker.
We ordered pav-bhaji for the kido and it turned out to be awesome... its a find! will surely visit here again for the pav bhaji.
we had butter naan and paneer kadai- which we requested to be slightly spicy but turned out to be a disasterously hot and spicy which was a bit of an anti-climax...
overall.. a good restaurant... better not to customise food and surely give the pav bhaji a shot!

This is one of the restaurant whenever i crave for vegetarian food ....perfect place with family ....must try dahiwada ..
South Indian food is at its best here ..

Samrat Honrao
A no nonsense pure veg food joint
Reminds me of the times in Mumbai
Great food prompt service.
Pav bhaji and dosa were pretty good and cooked nicely as well
Will always visit for my Pav bhaji cravings
DEEPTI PUNDLÉ
Visit 1 :
Masala Dosa is what my friend had recommended from here..

But the batata Bhāji needed salt and should have been more crispy.. Sambar was good.. Two types of chutneys were ok…

There were houseflies inspite of being in the AC section..

Plate in which Dosa was served wasn't clean…

Also the handling of the water glass by waiter was unhygienic..

The above mentioned 3-4 reasons are why I have given a lower rating..
Pink Ribbon
Just down the road from Apsara is another one of my favorite Udipi restaurants, where I enjoy my South Favorite, dosas or even a Pav Bhaji. It's relaxed, service is quick and it's a fond reminder of the old for me.
Gaurav Nagarkar
very nice place. South Indin food is awesome. we tried masala dosa and tomato onion uttapa. The ambience is also nice and service is fast. Other veg dishes also are good. Everyone should try South Indian food here..................
Deepak Suresh Mittal
Awesome sitting place with polite staff. They serve really delicious food and the portion is also good. Steam idli and rava plain dosa are most tasty food items served by them. They must work on the sambhar receipt as it’s more of water and oil and less in vegetables. I will suggest people to try steam idli and rava plain does of this place.
Vishal Tomar
I love eating here. I had the opportunity to enjoy their food quiet a few times and never did they disappoint me. Service is quick. Staff is courteous. Menu is extensive. The place is neat and clean. Food is tasty. I'd like recommend their South Indian menu and thali. Especially uttapa and tomato Omelette is really good.
Sanika
This place has been on the lot for quite a bit and recently been renovated. It's situated exactly opposite to the lane you turn to Sarasbaug. Parking can be found in the vicinity.
In the mornings it's crowded by senior citizens and youngsters enthusiastically chomping down the breakfast. You won't need to wait for the table and I suggest prefer the family room which is empty .
We ordered onion uttappa, medu wada and idli with coffee. I must say the uttapa was scrumptious with a helping of butter on top, light, a bit crispy and perfect.. by far the most delicious I've ever tasted in any restaurant. The medu wada was crisp and soft. The chutney and sambhar were the exact blend of what you look for .
The service was great and I have nothing to complain about.. you are served within minutes and I definitely would recommend this joint for breakfast.
You can also try their bread masala which is good too.
Being Manus
Quick order
Good taste

Rates are 15% more than it should be at such average restaurant
Food was tasty....service was ok....freshroom was dirty
Shruti Tekawade

Sumedh Patole
One of the best breakfast places in the city!
Apart from the south indian delicacies, all the vada varieties taste good.
Bread masala recommended. It is heavy on the stomach.
But one of the worst chai I've had!

I like to have meal 🍴 at kalpana hotel because hotel is near from my class and service are good, specialy in parcel they wrap food in traditional by by using banana leaf
Aditi Patil
We usually bring breakfast parcels from here, they wrap it nicely in banana leaves. Their medu wada and idli is really nice,so is their chutney and sambar usually, but once had taken a parcel and the sambar turned out to be inedibly sour, but otherwise it's a decent option for upma and south Indian.
Pratheek Ponnappa (Grubitizer.com)
The food here has got that typical Mangalorean taste to it which is good. Priced very decently. Expect it to be crowded throughout as its on a busy road. I tried pav bhaji, there was so much bhaji that we ended up taking 3 extra set of pav. Hot chocolate was good and luckily did not have the powdery chocolate taste. Overall, a good place to eat the commonly available food!
Śrī Śarmā
Typical Puneri "Shetty" restaurant. They've got solid food and decent coffee at the right prices. The place is always full of people, and that's a fairly good indication of what the quality of the food is, in this case. A good place to get your dosa/filter coffee fix if you're on Tilak Road.
Swapnil Dhumal
Food taste is ok. Service is little slow. Overall good when there is no option and less money. Try once. In odd day quality is superb. If u r hurry then bus stop is nearer so no problem to try
Jairaj Jagtap

Ajay Khare-Khot (Photowala Punekar)
Recommend for Udpi or South Indian Breakfast only or for coffee. Meduwada-Sambar is good. Upma is also good. And they serves nice coffee. Service is you can say OK. Not expensive.
Om
Better service...... Average food......... Nice place outside......
Prashant Mahajan
Only recommended for Udpi breakfast... especially the Medu wada - Sambar being my favorite followed by a cuppa of filter coffee.. Too bad they don't serve filter coffee in Glasses.. but I guess that its just me who like it that way... (Note - When here Don't even think of ordering anything but Udpi..)
Rutuparna Damle
Only people interested in breakfast can dare to visit this place. The Upma here is good and so are south Indian dishes. But the chinese, Punjabi food is absolutely a mess. Not worth visiting.
