Hero Sandwich The name itself is enough for introduction. Hero Sandwich is a sub brand of what a sandwich. Its different from other brands as they serves Panini sandwiches. Panini is a sandwich made with italian bread, usually served warmed by grilling or toasting. They served combos which contains Sandwich, french fries and brownie. The packaging is safe hence feel free to order. When I received my order, I opened it and was bit disappointed by looking at the size but trust me they prove me wrong about my 1st look decision. The sandwich was fully loaded with cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, processed cheese and paneer. I took the 1st bite and mmmm can't have words to explain the taste and the feeling. It was so yumm rather it was Scrumptious. My mouth was full of flavourful blast of cheese, paneer, capsicum, onion and so on. The Paneer was soft and fresh. The bread was whole wheat bread, grilled and fresh. Talking about french fries then they were fresh, crisp from outside and soft from inside perfectly fried. Sriracha dip was so yum and it was helping to raise the taste of my sandwich. With the dip, sandwich was a perfect blend of balanced flavour i.e. Spicy and cheesy. Talking about brownie then yummmmm. A warmed piece of brownie loaded with walnut gives a perfect taste and gives a flavourful blast in mouth. Green machine drink was a Green apple flavoured aerated drink which was giving a balanced to the combo. To be frank the sandwich looks small but trust me it's bit heavy once you started to eat it. Really I'm in love with Hero sandwich. It's really CHHOTA PACKET BADA DHAMAKA..! Story about naming it as HERO..! *Origin of the Name* These sandwiches are called Hero because, back when World War 2 got over and the American soldiers returned home, there was a food rationing problem. So the locals there took bread, filled it with cheese and ham/chicken and gave it to the soldiers saying, "The soldiers don't need to go hungry. Give this to the Heroes“ And that's how the name got stuck to these sandwiches. I have ordered twice from this place and i am in love with the food. I had ordered a chicken mexicana sub and a chicken crispy sub,both were so relishing and worthy for the price. I had also ordered the chicken mexicana sub which was absolutely bliss to have and highly recommended. Definitely gonna try a lot more from here.

The other major difference is that Hero products are made with Mozarella, Cheddar and Processed Cheese and toasted. Chicken Tikka This was one of the yummiest and loaded grilled sandwich I had. It's used brown bread only. To this they added some topping of onions lettuce tomatoes and some mayo and mint sauce. To finish things off some cheese slice and shredded cheese. Its was a chessy goodness. Chicken was also cooked perfectly Spicy Paneer If you like spice then this is the best opinion you can have. The paneer is cooked in spicy cheese sauce. This paneer is topped with onions and capsicum. This is served with cheese Alfredo dip. You can also add on fries and drink to this and make it a meal. VERDICT This brand also works on the foot print of the main brand what a Sandwich. I really like the packaging of the food. They have written on box we all can be heros which gave a nice touch to the box. They also have offers running throughout year.

And their operating timing 7 am to 4 am.<br/><br/>FOOD<br/>Veg Crispy Sandwich<br/>It's their best seller, its fusion of kind of burger and sandwich. They have a fried crisp veggie patty along with veggies and some mayo and cheese into it. This had a nice crispy patty and to add more crunch it had fresh Veggies like tomatoes onions lettuce and some olives. Its was perfectly balanced sandwich.<br/><br/>Chicken Crackling Sandwich<br/>This was really amazing sandwich. It had crisp fried chicken into it. The chicken was coated with a batter and deep fried and on this chicken they added the sandwich topping. Along with these toppings they added some cheese sauce and mayo sauce. This was definitely a messy sandwich. I had ordered a 4 inches only and I really like this size as it's enough to fill you hunger pangs. The chicken was cooked properly and it was not an frozen chicken.<br/><br/>VERDICT<br/>They really have great variety of sandwiches. Everything giving into the sandwich is fresh. And use of brown bread makes it's even better. This is really pocket friendly and they have many offers running through the year on all major delivery apps

Magarpatta has become a food hub of Pune. But i still love to visit the first joint of WAS when i get the chance.<br/><br/>This use to be a small takeaway joint but now its just a delivery kitchen. We ordered an 8 inch sub and boy, was this a monster. The sandwich is great for a meal and defintely not get hungry like Subway does<br/><br/>Its cheap, its great in packaging, defintely a place to order from

I ordered a sandwich which was tasty, nice packaging. Only the concern after having sandwich was my stomach was still empty... So the quantity is not enough to fill your apatite. One might want to order 2 sandwich instead ☺☺

What should I call you hero sandwich or what a sandwich, really unfair to find you are kind off cheated by the restaurant.<br/>Well ordered for cheese chicken tikka panini with juice.<br/>Expected some fruit juice kind off real one, received frooti., sarcasm.<br/>It was just another sub with tiny pieces of chicken surely not from tandoor.<br/>The reason I gave three is cause they did justice to the name when say cheese it was cheesy ,tasted good.<br/>But don't cheat this way to customer, over to that it was sliced sub<br/>

There was a SIMPLE special instruction provided for my order with this restaurant “ to NOT to put onions in my order” but no instruction was followed ... if a customer is paying ₹200 for a sub he/she expects to utilise the same amount... and even if there was a mistake there should be some policies to amend and rectify the mistake...

Ordered one chicken Mexicana , veggie sub and chicken crackling sub for dinner. Taste wise I would say decent - the sauces can be better and they can add olives and lettuce to make it better. Also they can offer different breads while ordering. Overall good!

This is my first time that i am tasting this sandwich, overall it was really good the money i paid is totally value for money product. now lets go to the packaging it was amazing, specially the box and also it was wrapped with aluminium foul with Butter paper, thumbs up to packaging<br/>overall my first experience was good, but one more things like it's quite similar to subway but not totally, you will enjoy this sandwich.

Ordered Paneer Crackling Sandwich which tasted good but i felt the bread was stale and the paneer was not at all crackling infact the coating was too soft..The veggies were inadequate,lil more veggies could give it a nice crisp.The sauce tasted good.<br/>I also ordered chicken cutlets.It tasted amazing but were too oily.Had to drain oil in tissue for a longer time.<br/>The sandwiche tasted decent <br/>Overall experience was ok<br/>Nothing outstanding about this place.<br/>If you’re hungry and wanna try something low on pocket and healthy then you can give it a try.

Honestly, the price point for what you're getting is an incredibly good deal. And the food isn't terrible, it's actually really good. <br/><br/>What I don't like, is that the sandwiches tend to come with a lot of sauce (they usually use a combination) which makes everything soggy. That isn't so nice when you're ordering a chicken crackling sandwich which is supposed to be somewhat crunchy. If you're thinking of trying this place out, I'd suggest asking them to use half the amount of sauce they would normally use.

The sandwich was ok in taste but the French fries half was burnt and it was not crispy. So overall didnt like the restaurant food.

If you want to have a yummy sub then this is a place to go to. What'a sandwich has amazing subs. I have had various sandwiches from them both veg and non- veg. My favourite is the hash brown 8 inch sub.<br/>They use fresh vegetables and tasty sauses. The bread is healthy and fresh always. I would highly recommend you to try one of their sandwiches.<br/><br/>The only downside is they don't have good drinks and options are limited.

Tried the famous crackling sub 8". And yes it sure is pretty good. The sauces were good, a little too much but tasted yum. The crackling pieces were tasty though thinner than my expectations. The bread was good but didn't seem to be very fresh. Overall worth the spend.

Whenever I want to eat something healthy the first thing that comes to my mind is 'salad'. Now my definition of healthy would comprise of some veggies, chicken pieces and a little dressing. But you guys completely went overboard with the dressing. I understand it was a Chicken Mexicana salad and you had to put those Mexican flavours but the creamy layers of sauce had completely hidden the actual stuff underneath. I had to remove most of it. But even that did not help. Once I mixed all the components together the taste of the sauces was overpowering as if I was eating sweet veggies and chicken. There was no salt or spice to balance the sweetness. That kinda killed the salad for me. I had to throw it away after a couple of bites.<br/><br/>The appeal: ?<br/><br/>Suggestions:<br/>Salad is supposed to be healthy and tasty at the same time. A little bit of dressing with a dash of salt will do. What you did was was murder. You killed my salad.<br/><br/>Verdict : I don't think I will order again. <br/><br/>Edit 1: After speaking with the restaurant staff they were kind enough to resend the same order the following day after as per my review comment. And this time around the salad was perfect. It shows their attitude towards zero customer dissatisfaction. I have written over 200+ reviews but this is only the second or third instance when a restaurant has taken responsibility for the food that they have put up especially when the customer did not like it . The simple place which I have seen grow from a small shack in destination center magarpatta to a decent place for munching your daily salads and subs. <br/>We ordered a potato hash salad and chicken seekh salad. The delivery was late due to zomato service but the store made up for it. Store prepared the salad as we instructed. Since I know here they add in lots of sauces and I'm not a fan of sauces hence, I specifically asked them to add nothing expect the veggies which was taken care of.<br/>Suggestions to the management is that they can introduce a sauce selection menu as well here so that people can customize there salads according to ones need and taste.<br/>

Love this place . Have visited their store in Camp and can really vouch for their food... I saw this near Amanora mall so thought i drop in.. not too much inside the shop but the quality and quantity is consistent with the camp store.

Recently as a part of our regular Friday meetup - the hosts happen to order in from What' A Sandwich. <br/><br/>I must say I was fairly surprised with the taste of the Alu Tikki sub. It was a cold sub having an alu tikki stuffed in it, albeit it was a tad bit sweet - this seemed little strange. But the sub had veggies like the sliced capsicum,spinach,onion,chopped olives, chopped jalapenos and seasonings. Each bite of the sub had a burst of flavours especially the mayonnaise and the mustard sauce were truly the taste enhancers. We wolfed it down instantly.💗

The sandwiches from this place is really tasty. They have a lot of variety and the prices are reasonable as well. A couple of 6 inch sandwiches is sufficient for a dinner and being both lighter on the wallet and the stomach.

Would suggest to get the order online home delivered. Sub's are good, would recommend to write in commet about the sausage and vegetables while ordering as per your choice. <br/>Not good for dine in option, you wont like it..

Out of available options, ordered - Wholewheat Roti-Wrap with fill-up of potato, onion & cheese sauce. Would not call it excellent as the Roti Wrap was served cold & had to ask them to heat it up which they indeed did later on. But, by that time initial impression about Service not good was made. Additionally, same time noticed they were holding the wrap with bare hands without gloves. I pointed this out on which counter spoc apologized later & assured that they would take care of it henceforth. Hence, to Service, though polite & co-operative, but not customer centric for food serving. <br/><br/>Found outer wrap to be abit hard but the filling though tasty & beaming out.<br/><br/>Hygiene wise, could notice it's kitchen clearly from outside to be not too appealing. I have also attached a snap of it taken from outside. More so, there are three shops within one premises including this one. You need to carefully identify it to trace it out. <br/><br/>As read various reviews, the item prices might be lesser than Subways but could find it not too moderate otherwise.<br/><br/>Has no sitting & hence you may find difficult to eat there, especially in the sunny day as I found it to be. Not so impress with service. First of all no seating available and they took more than 25 mins to make two 4 inch subs. Taste was average. That long wait ruined the whole experience.

You know how subway make you feel like a bit of an idiot with their massive list of condiments and sauces and what have you for a price tag that doesn't match with your stomach capacity... This is the opposite of all of the above.<br/>Have these guys deliver home every weekend and the once you find the right no brainer add-on to your sub... Pay the maker... This 8 inch piece of work will sate any degree of the munchies.<br/>One sad bit though is their layout. The sandwiches be tasty but their method of making them is bent out of shape... The sauce will be more on the wrapping paper than the sub leaving you with the headache of spooning them back into it or for those who are eating alone... Sandwich outlet in DC serving sandwiches like subway. They serve 8 inches and 4 inches sub. Ordered paneer sub. Taste of the sub was very average and since there was no customization of sauces available so there was a sauce which was too chessy. Not much to write about...

Agree to all the positive comments here. Good taste, Good food and Good in quantity as well. I have tried the Veg Crispy and its Yummmm.Looking forward to try other variants as well.Only one thing that made me unhappy is there was no sauce pouch given along with the sub :(

Ordered it online and received it after 2hrs and they told it was because of rain and the pizzas were completely burnt and looked like they made it with leftovers....

If a place can offer cheese Alfredo and salsa sauces to be added in your sandwich, I don't see anything stopping you from trying it out. With the jalapenos already in the sandwich, the salsa spruces up the experience. I am glad they went with their sauce choices, and did not stick to what giants such as Subway offer, setting them apart. Apart from this, their hashbrowns (they can get oily) are worth a try. I am also glad they offer 4" sandwiches, for a quick snack. I have been a fan of their Herbed Crunchy Potato. For chicken lovers, their Chicken Sausage offering lets you make your makeshift hot dog. I do not have much of a complaint about not having a place to sit, as long as I get good food (though I loved how they had their earlier space done up). Hygiene might be a more rational worry. However, it will be great if they can provide a spread of bread varieties as well. These are the only places where they would lose out on the 5-pointer, while I also urge they go easy on the oil. Absolute value for money and quick & easy takeaways. There was this one time when I had asked for salsa and got ketchup instead. But, this was just once, so I let it go. Otherwise, I recommend that sandwich lovers (or even others, for that matter) definitely give this place a try.

Nice change from subway. However, subway has a monopoly over sandwiches, but this place nails it in stealing their customers for good! It's sandwiches are bigger and better at less than what subway offers. What's more, it has more side dishes to choose from. Value for money experience, I would recommend it to my friends. They only drawback, they don't have sitting area and the veggies they put in is sometimes stale. But overall a nice experience.

I wonder how this place got such nice ratting. First of all there is no sitting arrangement, I dont know who has posted a pic of chair and table. Well we ordered for chicken crackling and chicken so cheezy both were below average. Well if you pay 250 bucks for so cheezy you better have cheez in it, to my surprise it didnt had a sign of it. The sauces were common on both my sandwiches. I couldn't find any difference among them. My friend ordered for crispy veg. But had the same fate as mine.

A randomly selected option for today's lunch based on a friends recommendation.<br/>Not disappointed at all on the first visit. So if anyone want to, can try it for sure.<br/><br/>Went for the Chicken Seekh Sandwich. Felt that it would have been good to have a little more of Chicken in the sandwich, however more veggies were stuffed. Still it was prepared well and considering a small size of 4inches for 80 odd bucks, a fair deal. And the sausages and toppings were added as per request.<br/><br/>Other than that, the Veg. Crispy was also a good choice to go with.<br/><br/>Bit disappointed as wanted to have a Chicken Salami, which was unavailable, that too at the peak time in the afternoon. So they need to take care of such minor issues.<br/><br/>Presently giving a 3.5 rating for a decent preparation and maintaining decent hygiene.

I have tried almost all the veg subs and still cannot decide which one to go for the next time. Although their HashBrown Potato sub is the one I order every time. Subs are great and better than Subway as these are way cheaper than Subway. Well I never have been to the actual place and have always ordered for delivery.<br/>Although couple of times the store dint accept our online order and dint even bother to inform us. After calling multiple time got to know that they cannot accept the order because of hugh rush,<br/>Overall great option to have instead of having Rolls.

This ends all my searches. <br/>Ordered the Chicken spicy chinese salad - For starters, the packaging is awesome. And just the right amount of spicy, tangy, saucy and Indian.. I'm totally ordering it a second time. <br/>Hashbrown potatoes sub mind effin blowing!<br/>What' A Sandwich is God sent!<br/>Totally going to my favourites list ✌?

impromptu visit to magarpatta, went o DC found this place buzzing with crowd, good subs so big and very reasonable value for money will definitely go again

Thing i like most about this place  is -they are generous with their sauces and vegetables unlike subway:)Place is really small which doesn't bother much .. prices are decent and owner is polite.

Ok firstly i'll give marks coz of sheer dedication. This place has so many restaurants nearby but it still stands out coz of creativity and ofcourse the food.<br/><br/>i had the chicken crackling sub and i have never had a better sub ever. Much better than subway.. loads better.. One problem is it gets a little crowded in the evening but if u do online order i guess their deliveries are good... Good place to go...

After reading reviews here,I went to DC to taste it. Since,now place is changed,it was a bit difficult to find. Its currently located near entrance of DC,opposite Roll Attack or near Shiv Krupa bhel. <br/>Anyways,I had a 8" Chicken Crispy Sub and Veg Crispy, Potato Sub 4" each. The taste was good because of various sauces he poured on it. A typical mix of those sweet,tangy taste gave a different flavor yet unexplored.<br/>Though it needs a bigger place and good decor to attract more customers. It currently shares shop with a Bhel and Pani puri snack center.

Since more people have really appreciated this restaurant not too much to ass on this section.<br/><br/>The chicken crackling is apparently the hot seller and was stunned with the quantity and quality of it. 90 for a sub that keeps me stuffed and with a great after taste actually deserves a 5 rating :)

I find it better than Subway. Also reasonable enough. Not only that, their offers are pretty good. If you're on WhatsApp, you'll have offers from them daily!! Yes, you have salad option as well. :)

You could order Chicken crispy which would be delicious and crunchy...but for all the cheese lovers...my money is on so cheesy filled subs...fries are a bit salty for me but they are much crispier than the other outlets....worth opting for when hungry and need to munch something which tastes great..

I ordered one 4-inch Chicken Crispy Sub, one 4-inch Chicken Salami Sub, one 4-inch Veg Crispy Sub and two medium fries. Let me tell you, the subs were better than Subway (No I'm not crazy). Although I thought the fries weren't crispy enough. But I can overlook that. The main complaint I have is that the delivery guy took more than an hour to deliver our order from Magarpatta to Sasane Nagar!! But despite that I really recommend ordering from this place.

I am so happy I was able to visit this restro while in nice and i strongly recommend it. the service was excellent, efficient and friendly. I ate chicken crisp first time and second time I was damn hungry so visited the place again and tried hashbrown potatoes, chicken nuggets n chicken cheese balls and the taste was superb, perfectly cooked. The owners (Hussain n huzaihfa lokhandwala) were lovely and made it a perfect visit.<br/>You are going to enjoy fabulous subs.. :)

And just check freshness of this outlet. <br/>Generally I don't write long reviews you can check my reviews, but people have gone mad that they are comparing this small shop with legendary subway. Common people wake up n sake up. Don't you feel the difference between legendary subway and this joint. Subway cooks there bread 2/3 times in a day. They cut there vegetable fresh every after 30/40 minutes. there sauces comes direct from USA untouched.subway bread flour comes direct from USA. There pickles comes from USA. Only selected quality of vegetable enter subway kitchen worldwide, I know all about subway because one of my friend is head of UK sub way outlets. More then 120 outlets are under him with some selected area in UK. They have a couple of her offers running all through so you can get some good deals. The chocolate brownie was a pleasant surprise and is a must try if you are fond of home made brownies.

I am not a frequent visitor at zomato but I logged in today just to write a review for this place because I think it really does deserve it.<br/>First off .. I'll say the place is every bit worth the name .. What a Sandwich!!<br/><br/>Me and my colleague were in DC sometime last week at dinner time. I remember we had a hankering for some pizza that day so we went to where Smokin Joes used to be and saw that it had closed down. So lost and clueless (metaphorically speaking!) we were walking around when we saw this place. Never did we know how much that was going to mean! On the face of it the menu looked very much like that of Subway's and I have never been much of a fan of that place or the food. Mostly because I do not find it filling. So we had almost though of moving on .. but that was not to be :) We decided to give the place a chance and I ordered a veg-so-cheesy with fries-in-the-sub and my colleague ordered a chicken-something-something.<br/><br/>Bas wo din hai aur aaj ka din hai .. its been just a week and I'm already a regular. The sub is really very filling .. the veggies the fries .. the sauces .. everything just fits in so well .. and at the end of it all .. you are left with a feeling of happy satisfaction and money well spent. I wish this enterprise all the success! Keep up the good work and more importantly the great food!<br/><br/>And yes you can save their number and order from WhatsApp too .. very crucial service in my opinion! :)

Just moved back from the states to back home in comfortable Pune...  I was actually no too keen on eating the oily food and was looking for a healthier option and as a blessing in disguise I stumble on What' A Sandwich!<br/><br/>A small and cozy sandwich shop which is very popular in the states i was surprise to see a similar concept here in DC. I went there on a recommendation ofcourse and boy was i delighted. The got the freshest most softest bread and options galore. the Veggies are so fresh you can get the crunch and the sauces though not tried all of them yet but went well with my Smoked Turkey.<br/><br/>I am tempted for the salads and might order tonight for delivery. The prices are reasonable too since i pay a bomb at Subway i think this place is here to stay. Though i saw some of their bad reviews but i can fathom to understand why??<br/><br/>Anyways If your in the area  or even not ;) no harm to stop and grab a bite..

Now this outlet has shifted from the first floor to the ground floor and has more visibility.<br/><br/>But still, it shares a 10 by 12 shop with a chat centre and a juice centre. The place does not even have a place for resting your hands and you have to stand in a small alley all along.<br/><br/>I will give it full marks for the food. Awesome soft bread, fresh veggies, perfectly cooked potato inside, the taste was really yummy. He gave me lots of sauces inside which were perfect in taste. Am waiting to eat the rest of the things on the list too.<br/><br/>The owner is decent and a delight to talk to. Pricewise I find it a bit costly considering no seating space(No standing space also if I try to be more perfect). One can always try 2 three inch subs to taste different flavours rather than going for a single six inches one.<br/><br/>Hoping they would reconsider the space issue if possible. Good going...

The got the softest and the freshest breads ever and they taste so yummm. I love the options they have to offer and economically its much better than Subway.<br/><br/>You need to visit this place if you are a sub sandwich lover!!

I love this place! I am a big fan of subs and these folks have the formula down pat. Their stuff is fresh and unlike subway, where the chicken is somewhat bland, their kebabs and salamis and tikkas are well-spiced and more suited to indian tastes. The variety here is also superior to subway and they offer sauces that the latter doesn't. The only area where it loses out really is the bread. However, situated in DC, which is the lifeline of Magarpatta residents, and providing home delivery which you can even order via whatsapp, what-a-sandwich is here to stay.

Amazing choices of subs both Veg and Non Veg. Good quantity for fair price. Plenty Tasty. But I have never been to the outlet, ordered home always.

After checking their awesome reviews on zomato,I thought it would be nice to drop by,I was sold as soon I had the first bite of my 3'' crispy chicken sub,from then on I am a regular,order their chicken salads daily and I have never been let down not even a single day.And as far is hygiene is concerned,I would give them 5 stars I eat daily and haven't faced any problem.Wonderful salads and awesome service and I would suggest all sandwich lovers to check this place out,their subs are way bigger n meatier than subway subs(if you were looking for a comparison) and now they are more strategically located too.
