NACHIKET SHIRGAONKAR

Very nice place to have a good and tasty maharashtrian thali. The place is very small and from the entrance you could not guess what lies inside. The place is always full of people and that is because of the taste they deliver, it feels like home. Please visit this place if you are in search for decent maharashtrian food.

A very good place to have authentic Maharashtra food. They serve only thali. You get warm rice and roties. But make sure you are hungry enough before coming here. They maintain the quality of the food. It's amazing how they are serving same taste for years. It's one of the oldest thali restaurant in Pune.
Rajesh Shetty
They serve Maharashtrian Thali, fresh & hygienic.

Reasonably priced authentic Maharashtrian Food (Thali). I recommeneded my friends from Rajasthan and they loved the food and service as well. Iam visiting this restaurant since last 3 years only, but have recommended it to many.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. This is a small place hidden in the hustle bustle of Chaphekhar chowk.

Entering the building which has this place is like going back in time, a nondescript building with paint peeling off its walls, a narrow staircase to go up, a small simple place with almost no decor, it felt like going back 20 years ago, to 1998. I can say with a fair degree of confidence that little must have changed about this place and its surroundings in the last twentry years.

The food is a traditional Maharashtrian meal with a dry potato sabji, vatana (dried peas) curry, aamti (a watery tadka daal, but calling it anything other than aamti would be committing blasphemy), a kadhi, kakadi koshimbir (cucumber salad), papad, and white rice.

The meal is simple, not at all spicy, but tasty at the same time. This is the meal Marathi families have on festivals, and not all people can appreciate its simplicity. But to me, this is the best meal I can possibly have. The satisfaction I had after the meal was divine.

It appeared as if me and my friend were the only ‘young’ people in there, as if the simple Marathi meal has gone out of fashion and doesn’t appeal to the Marathi youth. But for us, this meal was going back in time, to our childhood days. Interestingly enough, they have a board asking patrons to switch off their mobile phones, as if encouraging conversations over meals, rather than burying one’s head in their phones. Classic!

The service is a little slow and the waiters not quite attentive, but hey, its 1998, and who cares about a little wait, as long as the food is tasty and it tastes the same as 20 years ago!

For us, it was a trip down the memory lane and we thoroughly enjoyed it, both the meal and the experice, but not everyone might enjoy it as much as we did, still highly recommended!

This is an authentic Brahmin style food (Thali). Simple and tasty. Not spicy at all and the dal as some might call it... is a special preparation of Brahmin style Aamti supposedly watery to many but healthy to drink and tasty when hot. Chapati, Koshambir, Aamti, Bhaat, Suki bhaaji n Usal/Kadhi makes for a tasty food thali. Sweet is not part of thali and may seem expensive at 40 bucks per serving for one.
Honestly speaking , 3 is given just for seating arrangement and well behavior of the staff.

The quality of this restaurant is not at all up to the mark given that they have location in prime area of Chinchwad.

The thali is really too simple with 2 sabjis (1 in dry n 1 in gravy)

Sweets specified in this menu are a bit overpriced as compared to quality . Chapati is ok type , too thin.

The sukka bhaji is good only if it is Dosa bhaji or batata bhaji else rest all are normal .considering dal it is more watery n less dal.

Visit is recommended only if you have ran out of options.

For Thali , there are many more places in the vicinity . Those can be definitely preferred over this.

One of the best place for homely food serving for so many years. If u want simple yet tasty and quality food which wont burn ur pocket and most importantly ur wont burn ur stomach, this is the right place. Let anything change in Chinchwad but not this place.
-A satisfied customer since childhood .

Making prudent choices while eating out will surely double the delight of relishing on home like motherly cooked food.A Suhas Dining hall at Chapekar chowk Chinchwad Pune, is perfect destination for authentic Maharashtrian meals especially Puneri Thalis. The platter is loaded with viands like chapatis, two vegetables, rice, dal, papad and salads. Such a food venture is gastronomical delight for foodies like me.Don’t miss to indulge in tryst with Suhas Dining hall..

Situated in the heart of chaphekar Chowk this eatery is pretty old. They serve only one dish veg thali.
If you are looking for some homely food or tired of cooking at home then this is the perfect place for you.
They serve 2 sabjis and daal along with rice and koshimbir. Pickle and chatney are standard sides.
Look for lip smakin kadhi if you visit on Sunday.
Taste is very suttle and pleasant specially when you are tired of spicy food.

Overall- extremely VFM. Staff is polite and serve piping hot food promptly. Definitely looking to visit again.
Sumit

There are days when you want to eat something different yet homely food, today was one such day for me.
Landed up at Suhas Dining Hall, Chaphekar Chowk Chinchwad.

I really like their batatyachi bhaji ( potato) which is simply potatoes cooked in salt, turmeric with cumin seeds, green chillies & garnished with coriander. Unfortunately, today they weren't serving it.

The thali today afternoon comprised of kakdi koshimbir( cucumber salad) ghevdyachi bhaji( not sure what it's called in English ) vatana usal ( green peas ) 2 chapatis, aamati, kadi, papad & rice.

What I liked :
👍Koshmbir with sugar , salt & cumin seeds
👍Soft, thin , hot chapatis
👍Aamati which was slightly sweet, this is not the kind of dal i'm used to having daily
👍Kadi

I don't really like both ghevda & vatana usal , but that was the only thing for the day - as they say ' bahar toh khana hi padhta hai- had no choice!

Cost of the unlimited thali- Rs 140
VFM?
I don't think so..

What they should focus on ?
👎They had a board which read menu - gulab jamun, shrikhand, amarkhand, aamras & taak
Surprisingly they were serving aamras, but no amarkhand & taak.
The staff told us cuz they had kadi in the menu for the day , they don't sell taak for that day.
👎Maximum thali places you either have taak/ solkadhi. I think they should consider having this option / get rid of giving such lame excuses
👎Have at least 4 bhaji options in the menu, so that customers have a choice to make.

Will I visit again?
Probably no

No grand ambience. Reasonably priced. Polite and courteous staff. Unlimited pure veg thali now costs 140/-.

If you want to try homely food outside, this is the place to visit. Thali here is like Konkani pure veg thali. Tasty and healthy. A very good place for family lunch/dinner.

A very good place for thalli. This is really old thali restaurant in chinchwad area but taste remains the same.

If you want to eat outside but still want to have homemade food Suhas Dining Hall is for you.

A very good place to out with family. Service is really good. Clean place with really tasty food.

Highly recommended to friends.

This place serves a typical Maharashtrian thali which is very average and quite tasteless to be frank but again people come to this place for its simplicity and home like cooking. And it's expensive for the food they offer.
I guess it's not for me though

A Traditional home style mahrastrain thali at Suhas dining hall, chincwad

Suhas dining hall is situated chafekar chowk,Chinchwad. Run by Khare family serves very simple, basic and flavourful thali.

The place is very well maintained in terms of cleanliness.Food is served hot, fresh, without any preservatives and free from soda.

Thali consists of two bhajis, koshambir, taak, amti and Bhat. On Thursday and Friday "kadhi" is served. Their poli(chapati) is always served hot and fresh straight from hot tawa. Alu sabji is served almost everyday is very tasty!!!

Service is quick and good. Please do not expect any ambience or fancy thali.

"Good Food is very often, even most often, simple food"

I would recommend this place to foodies who love non-spicy,simple and yet flavourful maharashtrian satwik kinda Thali

Scale:(lowest)1-5food: 4.5
service: 2
ambiance: 4

favorite dish: Kadhi with ginger squeezed in it.
Waiting time: 30 minutes
When I visited: Thursday afternoon.

Meal details:
Papad, thecha(green chilles smashed), koshimbeer(cucumber small pieces with curd, groundnut powder etc), rotis, kadhi, rice-dal, smashed potato sabji, masoor sabji. Food tasted home made true Maharashtrian.

Dislikes:
1: Pay Rs 40 for sweet ,one bowl packaged mango juice.
2: Waiting time: for obtaining a seat, then to serve, then after rotis are over for rice to arrive. They have only 34 seating's , a limited staff to serve.

Overall: Must try.

Simple food with great teast !!

Suhas dining hall is one of the best dining hall in PCMC are.

You will definitely get the home made food feeling in this hotel.

Teast wise food is awesome. Usually in other dining hall or mess they use soda in rice and chapatti but in suhas dining they prefer normal homemade kind food preparation.

Service is little bit slow but overall experience was good.
