Hi. I am a seafood lover and love travelling to different outlets around the city to enjoy authentic seafood. I visited this place on 12th Feb. For starters I ordered Crab soup and at first it looked simple but when I just dug in..I got a kick of flavours.. and the feeling was amazing. Full of nutrients really felt the crab. Beautiful soup I would one of the best I have tasted. Then we ordered Clams sukha. Another amazing dish. The masala was so we'll marinated in those clams. Enjoyed the succulent flavour. The Clams were also very fleshy. Perfectly cooked. Ordered Crab Goan curry which was also mindblowing. Nice rich texture gravy packed with flavours of coconut and masala. Having it with steamed Rice was a bliss. Really enjoyed the visit. Would love to visit this again soon. Thanks you.
I visited Nisarg for lunch with my husband and 7 month old baby, and I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing everything was!! The food was really good, but the star of the show is their excellent customer service. All members of the staff were extremely helpful and polite, even when I needed help taking care of my baby. They made sure we did not have any unmet need, and were prompt in their service.
I highly recommend Nisarg to all!

Lobster was awesome. So tasty 😋😍. But the ravas curry was not so good, it had less of marination and ginger garlic so not so good.
Finally found a good seafood restaurant in Pune. The food over here is tasty. Pomfret fish finger is the best dish other than the solkadi. The staff is very helpful and polite even they are old ones in this industry. Overall a great experience

Nisarg is place for legends. Best quality sea food, prices are high on the side but it's worth with quantity and quality. We have fish rava fry, crab soup,prawns, curry etc. Dis was really good in taste. They know dishes well. Ambience is very nice too. It's their lobster crab and wine festival. It's really good experience. Best place for sea food lover. Wallet parking is also available.

Prawns tawa fry- to it's perfection. If you fry thne prawns too much, they become rubber. It has never happened when I have visited this place. The prawns were perfect. Surmai tandoori is another must-have. Highly recommended.

Nisarg is the prime restaurant in the city to have some top quality seafood. This place has been around for a long time and will be there for decades to come. Nisarg is located near nal stop. Easy to locate. This place is a landmark itself. Two wheeler parking as well as valet parking available. I visited this place on a saturday night for dinner with my family. Knowing the popularity of this place, I booked a table well in advance. It is big outlet with indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor ambience is above average. Indoors, they have two levels. The ambience is bright, vibrant and really great. We found a table on the first level. The tables are well spaced and comfortable. Nisarg serves one of the best seafood in town along with all other north indian and maharashtrain dishes. We started our dinner with surmai tikka. And it was spectacular. The fish was cooked to perfect. Beyond perfection I must say. Amazing. Loved it. I don't anybody else can match this level of cooking when it comes to seafood. It was served with pudina chutney and coconut cutney. For mains we opted for butter chiken and anda masala along with butter nans and butter roti. Starting with butter chiken, it was really tasty. Lots of butter. Chiken was soft and well-cooked. The anda masala was great as well. Loved the thick, spicy gravy. The butter rotis and nans were good as well. They serve cucumber and beetroot salad to begin with. The staff is really polite and efficient. They know their dishes well. The service is satisfactory. The prices are on the higher side. But such quality deserves these prices. Really good quantity. A must visit place for seafood lovers.
Very reliable place for seafood lovers since long time. Some might feel little overpriced but considering the quantity, I feel it's worth it. Seafood cocktail soup was smelly, and we did not enjoyed it. Prawns from the prawn pulav were frozen. Apart this service is prompt, decent Ambience and nice food.

The best sea food I've ever had. Period. Although it's pretty expensive and a heavy lunch or dinner may cost you over ₹1000 per person, I think that it is worth it. Ideal place for fancy lunch or dinners. There is a good chance that you'll have to wait for your turn to feast here, there's usually a wait. It is generally full but does not look crowded in here.

For a great seafood experience this restaurant should be on Ur list. Do try their seafood soup. Also if u like having crab then do try their crab dishes. Quantity and taste is good. Good place for sea food lovers .They serve some real sea food dishes .Been visiting this place since many years but prawns butter garlic taste is the same till date.The chicken dishes are also good.Was not that happy with chicken multani in main course but the overall startes of fishes were really appreciable so no complains .

Always been a popular place for seafood. Every time I order food it's never disappointing. Love fish and solkadi combination. Ambience too is very pleasant.
Can be considered amongst the few restaurants offering good quality and tasty sea food in Pune. Ambience is lovely. Variety of fish to choose from. A bit pricey with justifiable quantity.
Its our second visit to this big family restaurant which is famous for seafood..We ordered Mandeli Fry and Bombay Duck Fry in starters.. Both were freshly cooked , less oily and less spicy.. and having unique taste. Then we ordered Surmai Curry which contained 8 cubed pieces of Surmai nicely mixed and immersed in a thin red Goan type gravy. Also the Red and Green Chuttanies provided with the starters were fresh and delicious !! Next time we will try Crab .. There is one aquarium in which there is real sea water in which there are live crabs.. we can catch and order Crabs from this aquarium.. Overall a satisfactory experience !! Special note- All service staff is so polite and helpful. And the service time is also less though it was a Sunday and we went there in the pick hours!!
This is indeed one of the best premium seafood restaurant in the city. Went there just to try out lobster but ended up ordering prawns biryani and crab meat soup.
They showed me the lobster before cooking and asked me if I was satisfied with the size and quality. Hardly 10 minutes later got served with cooked version. Quick and spontaneous service by the crew must be welll appreciated.
1) The lobster was amazing and it cost me 800 bucks which I think is not so much for the same. It's 100% worthy also. Special mention to the two chutneys they serve omg those two were out of the world.
2) Prawns biryani was again the masterpiece with tiny pieces of shrimps in it. One biryani can fill two tummys'.
3) Crab Meat soup was okay did not fullfill my expectation. You can get better ones in city. It was a little sweet which was awkward.
Like I said, this place is a must visit for seafood lovers.

Despite the rush, their service is pretty fast and the staff is nice.
Coming to the food, most of the sea food items are brilliant. Prawns koliwada fry is one of my favorites. Other fish fry items are brilliant too. The biryani is very tasty as well. I have tried both prawns and chicken.
Despite being famous for the sea food, chicken dishes are pretty good.
In all, a nice decently priced restaurant for a sea food meal.
Well, Many friends recommended me Nisarg, so no wonder being a foodie, I visited the restaurant.
First impression of the Nisarg was good. Great ambience, comfortable seating, nice service nad good food too. The only thing I didn't like is its quite heavy on pocket.. Even for a water bottle they take hefty charges, and thats the only factor that will refrain me from visiting Nisarg again n again.. Rest all is good!

A pretty old joint in Erandawane which offers decent seafood, at cut throat prices though. Although I am not particularly a fan of this place, one can definitely give it a visit once in a while. The place is well managed, service is good and the food is decent. I haven’t tried anything other than seafood yet. I would recommended this place as a dine in only.

We visited this place on a Sunday afternoon and obviously had to wait for a while. There's plenty of seating available here; outside as well as indoor (ground + 1). Valet parking is available. And although this place serves brilliant seafood, it still doesn't smell too strong inside.
Coming to the highlight of the day, which is undoubtedly, their FOOD! (We had only the seafood)
Before the starters arrived, our tables were set with pickles, onions, carrots, cucumbers and two chutneys. I mention this because, out of the green and red chutney, the red chutney was SUPER tasty and flavourful!
Prawn Koliwada (fried) - The marination was perfect. The freshness of the prawns was perfect. The crispiness was perfect. The size of each prawn was huge! There's nothing I would have changed about this extremely tasty dish! 😋
Bombil (Bombay Duck) Fry - This was flawlessly crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. It wasn't too oily as well. Unlike most of the restaurants which serve just few pieces of outer covering deep fried with empty inside and claim it as Bombay Duck fry, here I was actually able to find generous amount of fish inside of the cover. 😋
Surmai Masala (Konkani) - We had asked for a thicker gravy than usual and it was indeed served at a perfect consistency and taste and flavour and quantity. It wasn't too spicy and nor too bland. It had big pieces of fresh Surmai fish in it as well. 😋
Prawn Biryani - The impeccable long rice grains cooked to perfection, the considerably large prawns in it and the biryani's flavoursome taste, everything about it made me eat more than desired! 😋 This generous amount of biryani was served along with a gravy that I didn't taste.
I am glad I found this place! And of course, I will be looking forward to many visits in the future! 😇

Nisarg is known for it's sea food and it is good but doesn't feel very great. Fish seems to be just boiled and put in whatever curry you ask for rather than cooking fish along with the curry. The fish felt a little bland. Ordered a tandoor fish starter which was really good and the solkadi was excellent. I felt this place has good Malvan dishes. The caramel custard too was tasty.
Coming to service, it was good and really fast. We managed to reach before it got crowded and the service was very good. The ambience too is nice and cozy and a good place for sea food with family and friends. Do try it out.

they are famous for big crabs and belive me it is tastiest whole. when you go to the restro you can see the crab house in which live crabs are resting which are soon to be cooked and in your plate and in your stomatch. Apart from food the restaurant is having good ambience, good service and they maintain good hygen. In spite of having fish kept all around the place does not stink like any other fish surving place.

Surmai Tikka: Well marinated, not too spicy and cooked to perfection. Succulent and juicy.
Bangda Tawa fry (kala masala) : Bangda size was good and cooked well but the masala could have been a notch better. But that's nitpicking.
Tisrya fry. I was never really fond of clams as there's hardly any meat and always leaves one wanting for more. But the taste and flavours of the masala used was pretty good.
Service was efficient and had a nice pleasant evening.

The food is fabulous and definitely one of the best places to eat sea food.
The ambience is a little crowded and can get noisy if you have loud neighbors but I won't drop a star because all the other factors significantly triumphed over this.

A few days ago, I had an amazing dinner at Nisarg Seafood Restaurant, Nal Stop. In my opinion, it’s one of the best sea food restaurants in Pune. Extremely high quality food and reasonable prices. The ambiance is very elegant and beautiful with indoor as well as outdoor seating.
Surmai Rava Fry – Boneless chunks of surmai (king fish) deep fried to perfection. Amazingly crispy rava crust and juicy succulent flesh. The speciality here is that the preparation is completely non-oily. Everywhere else deep fried fish is usually dripping with oil. Not here!
Boneless Butter Garlic Crab – Continental style boneless crab dish. Big pieces of fresh fragrant crab meat in a creamy butter and garlic sauce. Just brilliant and comforting.
Tandoori Bangda – I’m a big fan of Bangda or Mackerel. I was expecting only one but I was surprised by two amazing looking big whole fish. The Captain suggested Tandoori style (which I wasn’t very keen on) but I trusted him and I’m really happy I did. The fish was smoky and perfectly cooked. Minimal bones and spiciness that was just right. Eating whole fish is a very satisfying experience, as you pick out chunks of flesh between bones and you can even chew on as well as eat some of the crispy flavourful bones. I enjoy the cheeks and other flesh in the head too!
I've had many curries too, kalvan, malvani curry, goan curry etc. The quality and taste is always exceptional. Highly recommended.
I have to mention their special chutneys. Their classic creamy sweet and spicy green chutney and the new mildly spicy coconut red chutney are extremely addictive. Perfect with every dish. They also give a complimentary plate of fresh cucumber, carrot and radish with chat masala. There can’t be a more perfect appetizer.
The prices seem slightly high at first but then you have to note, they are inclusive of taxes. Also, they have not been hiked for at least 3 years! So actually, the place is value for money especially considering the extremely high quality of the food, portion sizes, knowledgeable staff and brilliant service.
To begin with - must visit for sea food lovers. They have a wide variety of delicacies, not just the variety of fishes but also the different recipes they have for each.
Courteous and helpful staff - that’s always helpful.
Price - a bit expensive. But I wouldn’t mind paying them again for they kind of service and quality of food.
Will definitely visit them again to try something new.
Just one comment - every restaurant and every chef would have a speciality. So if a customer asks what is the speciality or what is most recommended, please give a specific answer rather than a generic one.

And both the times my experience was wonderful. I would say they cook the food to perfection neither undercooked nor over cooked.

Tum Yum Chicken soup was good.
Green cooler mocktail was refreshing.
Butter garlic prawns had lovely texture and just melted in the mouth.
Fish platter offered wide variety of boneless fish and with little masala to compliment.
In main course, prawns curry and prawns biryani were good.
Desserts included Nisarg surprise and vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.
Fish lovers will definitely visit this place again and again. So go out and enjoy a sumptuous seafood ride!!! Cheers!!!

After long wait we went to Nisarg. Read some reviews about seafood here. So we ordered Surmai Tandoor (tikka- boneless). The fish was fresh and preparation was so delicious that we coundnt wait to take pictures of it. Fish was sonewhat overcooked but the taste was delicious. Ambience and service grabbed one extra star. Coconut chutney was also mouthwatering. We ordered chicken biryani. But it was not upto the mark. It could have been better. I feel all the dishes are slightly overpriced.
First off, it's a super packed restaurant even on Weekdays ! Like jam packed with a waiting.

This place is located Near Karve Road. Ambiance was decent and peaceful. I heard about this restaurant long time but I was there last week. They have lots of variety seafood there.
We had ordered Fish Koliwada, Garlic prawns, Chicken curry, Black and white, Lemon ice tea, Appam, Solkadi. Everything was very tasty but only lemon ice was not good. Presentation of dishes are very good and food was absolutely delicious.
The experience is awesome. The staff is very cooperative. It is a little bit costly. Overall it was great experience. Definitely recommend it.
This restaurant has enormous fan support and i have had heard about it for a couple of million times from my friends in pune. They all have gone gaa gaa for this one, so with high expectations i went to this place. Well! OMG! For the first time in my life, the reason for the fan following was crystal clear to me. Awesome food, awesome staff - meaning polite and cordial behaviour of the staff, amazing taste( no other restaurant in pune can serve such seafood flavours) , absolutely delicious and quantity was fulfilling. The only thing though-is the prices, well! they are extravagant. But its all worth it if you are a big lover of sea food delicacies like the one writing this review😄

Visited this place on Saturday and instead of facing the long waiting queue for the AC dining we opted for garden seating which made us a bit disappointed. Ordered a baby surmai fish with two different preparations in starters and after tasting the tastiest fish ever we forgot the disappointment of the place we had in the beginning 😉😉. Later ordered prawns biryani which was also mouth watering... Yummy.. Also ordered pints of beer and malai kulfi. Very friendly staff and the place is a must visit for all the seafood lovers.

It's the premium and authentic restaurant for Sea food. They serve multiple options in Sea foods mainly we love the Surmai Fry and the tandoor Surmai. They organize different sea food special festivals as well.
The best seafood in Pune.May it be Malvani, Goan, Manglorean, Continental etc. This is the place you must visit if you love seafood. Bombil rava fry, Prawns Goan curry, Crab masala, Surmai tikka, Amboli, Ravas Kalvan are highly recommended. There is comfortable indoor seating as well as beautiful outdoor seating. Service is really good. One of my all time favourite places.
Nisarg is paradise for sea food lovers. As it is sea food special restaurant It has all the varieties of sea food dishes. Restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating area with large seating capacity. We had ordered prawn biryani which was really tasty and quantity served was really large. Ambience of the restaurant is good. Staff is very prompt and friendly offering you a good service. I would surely like to visit this restaurant again and would like to try dishes of crab and lobster.

Soup - crab manchow soup - typical chinese manchow taste with tender pieces of crab. Crab meat really adds up to the flavour of the regular manchow soup. The meat chunks were so tender as if it mealts in yiur mouth.
Starters - surmai tandoor (tikka) - boneless pices of surmai grilled up. Very juicy and tender pieces with great taste served along with a regular onion tomato salad and with green pudina chutney.
Main course - pomfret (N tawa) - boneless pomfret cooked with spices n red base gravy (dry). Great taste and tenderness. Served along with a lot of salad of onion, tomato tempered with curry leaves and similar red base gravy (dry).
Solkadi - obviously with fish you shld have a solkadi. Refreshing great taste and a great way to end the sea food meal.

Visited this place during their crab lobster and wine festival and had lobster, crabs and pineapple wine. The staff is courteous and helpful, if you are looking for suggestions they are always ready for it. Although it's heavy on the pocket but it is worth it.

The Mahesh Lunch Home of Pune - at half the prices.
So this is touted as one of the most authentic seafood restaurants of Pune. And accompanied with a lot of frills - a bevy of servers fawning over you, a dedicated captain for every three tables or so, a bringing over of the ordered seafood to the guests for a touch and feel before the actual cooking, a well populated aquarium tank, figurines of a gigantic crab at the entrance for a photo op, the works.
We were suggested a Crab Manchow soup, which turned out to be awesome and well worth the price. Adequate pieces of crab meat in a hot brew of Manchow. Fiery and at the same time soothing.
Then we called for a Murgh Mussallam and Amboli. The murgh came in a thick creamy gravy, the chicken was well cooked and the gravy was medium spicy and aromatic. You also have it to hand it to them about the quantities - no penny pinching here. One-Half portion would easily suffice a table for three. As it did for us.
And finally the star of the day - the Prawns Biryani. Huge, huge portion. And again, well enmeshed with large sized supple, well-cooked prawns. Plus the biryani also stood out of its own, Flavoursome, lightly spicy, and sprinkled with caramelised onion bits. And beyond that, the fare was accompanied by a large bowl of light Prawns gravy too.
We had to call for doggy bags at the end of our meal.
Highly recommended.

We had went to have chi briyani for lunch and ended up ordering tava crab in starters . It was my first time trying crab for starter. Nevertheless it was good decision to try crab for first time in this restaurant and it was tasty. The masala with crab was so delicious that me and my brother felt like to eat with a Roti it was that delicious. At last we had chicken biryani it was tasty too. Only problem was it near closing time in afternoon so they were hurrying up to finish up the food. Also we had ordered boneless crab which was good decision too as the crab are very hard to get flesh kind of food as the bones have to be broken to get the tasty deliciou flesh but it was not available at that time, next time will surely will try it. Best place to visit for any sea food.I am surely will be going once again to have more of there fish menu now.
Being a vegetarian, it was a difficult task for me to take my sea food lover friend to dinner. Whomsoever I asked for a suggestion, I was given this place's reference and I am glad that we went here. It was Sea food festival there and it provided good variety to my friend.

Like many years this year too they have hosted a Lobster Festival , we were quite excited the moment we saw their ads for festival on Hoardings and Auto's and finally decided to visit it yesterday. Before visiting we were little sceptical whether it's still there or not but on calling they confirmed it's still there, i think they have extended otherwise it was supposed to end 31stDec17 itself. it was a weekday so we easily got a table for 2 People and sat outside. restaurant dining is divided into majorly 3 sections. the inner one has 2 section and a outer place right at the entrance.
They were aggressively promoting Lobster Festival which can be observed from their new orange uniform of stewards or some stewards were even wearing a Lobster cap/hat :D , Posters were also sticked to grab attention !!! Good Idea. Even a Special Menu was also given. They have a Large and confusing Menu we were given 3 menu's. They do serve Alcohol which was merely a sight as most of them were with family. it is more like a Seafood Family Restaurant than a Bar.
Restaurant is one of the old seafood serving outlets of pune and has a decent interior, they have kept it simple and played much, no fancy Walls, Colours, Fittings or Furniture can be seen. Moreover it gives you a Classy feel of restaurant in 90's. Overall they have good ambience feeling and yesterday we even heard the noise of birds Chirping , at Night. the restaurant has maintained the hygiene factor everytime we visited it, Good but however the small napkins given to us were smelling and not washed properly.
Coming to Food we were shown medium and large lobster we chose the large one as there was not much price difference in them, medium was 1500 and large Rs.1700. they serve complimentary salad with chaat masala on the side , one can easily finish as they take long time to serve your order, almost half and hour. we ordered lobster, prawn biryani, Roti's and Fresh Lime Soda.
1) Lobster tasted suttle , not very spicy nor very blant, good ! but Very Costly and Very less Quantity of meat one can extract from it, however they already extracted the meat and cooked it, it was just for show that they serve it with lobster, otherwise the remaining entire lobster was EMPTY, it only looks Big :D
We were Still hungry, even after having the Costliest Starter, so we order prawn biryani and it came quickly.
2) Prawn biryani is served with seafood curry and it was good in taste and quantity. the prawns were soft , juicy and medium spicy including the rice. but the rice they used was basmati and seemed like tukda rice , they could have used Long Grain Variant of Basmati which tastes better than tukda rice.
the curry served along was not thick at all , but we enjoyed roti with it and not the Rice.
3) Finally just to digest the food better we ordered Fresh Lime Soda, it was just like any other soda. nothing special.
From Starting till the End we were given good service , only thing they Should include is to greet their customers with Hi, Good Eve and all. They should have taken feedback on individual basis either during billing or even the chef could have come to table and ask about the taste as they fall into higher segment of Restaurants and such gestures would be mandatory.
A bill of Rs.2600 for 2 People was made and they didn't charge any extra taxes except for 5% GST.
Inshort Good Food, Good Service, Good Ambience with Less Quantity and High Price.

This is another good place to have good crab and lobster dishes in Pune. After trying Gajalee and Mahesh lunch home before multiple times, this time I visited this place during the weekend. I had crabmeat soup, rawas(Indian salmon) rawa fry, prawn malwani masala, solkadi and roti. The prawn and the solkadi weren't appealing. But the soup and the fish rawa fry were awesome. The ambiance was good and the service was prompt. Prices are as usual on the ++ side(esp. the alcohol), yet the taste makes it up. (1460/- AI)

This one is a highly rated sea food restaurant in pune. To my own surprise i had not been there even once until today. Currently their crab festival is underway and the restaurant is all decked up for it, the staff was also dressed in orange attire. The restaurant has 2 floor seating with very comfortable atmosphere. We ordered fish kebab platter which consisted of 4-5 types of fish kebabs. For some reason the person taking the order was not advocating this dish ( reason known only to him) The platter took 25 mins to come which was pre informed. Along with this we had ordered surmai curry, amboli (rice flour dosa kind of Konkani delicacy) and a veg dish. The food was worth the high price we paid for it but the pricing is bit too much. Service level was okay.

Nisarg, One word to express "Impressive". This place has been on my list for son long but somehow never got a chance to visit. So one day me and my wify specially made a plan for a Sunday lunch and visited here. Easy to find near Nal stop, almost everybody knows it. Valet parking is there, no need to worry about the parking as well.
Ambiance: Once you enter, you feel very clam and peaceful. No rush, no music to disturb you. Entrance has big crab statue and says "selfie with a crab". Nice touch on the entrance :) Big fish tanks everywhere with some cool fishes, bright and cozy. Perfect place for a family lunch/dinner or even with your loved once if you don't want much disturbance. Not many frills but looks nice. Sitting is very cozy and comfortable. Distance between the tables is also maintained to keep your privacy. I really like it a lot.
Service: Staff is okish. Waiters are polite but the captains are not attentive. They keep chatting with themselves even after calling twice, it takes time for them to attend you properly. Serving time is good, no doubt about it.
Food: Now the best part, easily one of the top restaurant for sea food in Pune. They are known for their fish and they know how to cook it. We started with the soups then 3 starters.
Chicken Wanton soup: Chicken clear soup with nicely made, thin layered chicken wanton and served with celery. Classic, authentic aroma was coming as soon as the soup came to the table, makes you hungry and wants more. Nice start for the day.
Prawns Koliwada: Koliwada is a special masala made from combination of different spices. Prawns are marinated and fried to the perfection. Its a very famous dish. Really nice way to cook prawns as well. Served with the nice salad and also chutney. Good dish if someone is bored with classic rawa fried prawns and wants to try something different.
Tandoori Pomfret: Oh my my !! Dish of the day or should I say it was like a dish of the month for me. Tandoori pomfret cooked in tandoori, classic example of how to cook a fish to perfection. Top notch quality on the fish, marination, combination of spices, level of cooking, texture of the fish, aroma when it was served on the table and the salad served along with it, everything was just perfect and it made my day. Everybody who comes here, must try this dish at least once. See the pictures if you don't believe me, it will make your mouth watery for sure.
Chicken Lassoni tikka: Another master stroke. Chicken was cooked to perfection, very juicy, marination was good and the garlic taste and aroma was everywhere. Chicken was tandoored in such a way that the charcoal taste was also maintained along with the other spices. If someone is not a fan of sea food and wants to try something else, try for any chicken kababs here, it will not disappoint.
Overall, it was amazing experience and this is going to be my one of the most favorite places for sea food. Unfortunately crab was not available at the time we have visited, next time will be going for a crab soup for sure. Could have been easily 5 star but the staff members and very steep prices takes away half the star but anyways who cares about the ratings when the fish is this good. Highly recommended for every sea food lover specially pomfret lover, visit and you won't be disappointed.

This is my favorite place for sea food. The location of the place is very easy to find and very convenient. The tandoori chicken is amazing though it's a very common dish but the way the cook is amazing they nicely make cuts before grilling so that the masala gets nicely absorbed in it. It's also juicy and well marinated.
The new thing I tried this time is chicken salt and pepper. It's nice not very spicy they taste like chicken pakodas. Over all great.
Surmai n pomphret chatpata is up to the mark too!
Plus they don't have this typical fish aroma in restaurant so the veg people don't feel uncomfortable.
The service is a bit slow lately but then the food compensates for all.
Rumali roti could have been a bit more softer.

Amazing place to have Non Veg. Its bit on the expensive side, but worth it. I would recommend having Seafood here. They tout about their seafood, and boy it's great. I had surmai for starters viz. Surmai rawa fry and tandoori Surmai Tikka, and they were delicious. I would say the same for Crab manchow soup. The Crab soup is scrumptious. The Murgh musallam was also good. The pomfret rawa fry is also delicious. The Surmai Goan curry paired with classic amboli is heaven for the taste buds!

Best place to have sea food.. we had Bombil Koliwada for starters (my favourite), tandoori prawns, Surmai Chatpata and Tawa Pomfret. The starters were amazing and quantity was fine. For main course we had Murg Mussallam and Tandoori Rotis which was equally good. Service was good and fast. The place is clean and hygienic. I would recommend this place to all the sea food lovers. It a bit expensive but totally woth it.

Excellent restaurant in Pune to have fish without a doubt!!! Though a little expensive... I have been here 4 times and have had only fish all times.. No other item and I have loved it.. Squid, Rawas and Kingfish is the besttt. They also brag about something called as Tendulkar special (because Sachin had come here) but have never tasted this item so no idea.. I had a crab masala in starters; which was very tasty. In main course,I had chicken (I dont remember name of the dish) with butter naan, Chicken pieces were so succulent, tender & flavourful. Chicken dish was the best I have ever had. We had malai kulfi & chocolate souffle in desert, both of them were okay. Looking forward to second visit. Ambience is decent & manager was very helpful.

Nisarg is a seafood restaurant in Kothrud, Pune. Without a doubt the food quality and taste speaks for how famous this place is. To start with we ordered the crab soup which was delicious. Then we called for the Prawn Ulta Pulta, this dish was made to taste so different and unique with the right amount of flavour, spice and everything nice. Next we had the Prawn Pulao which was good too. Along with this we also called for Solkadi which was very refreshing. The service is great and you wont stop admiring the food long after you have eaten here. All in all it was a great meal!

Best known sea food restaurent in pune . I ordered the tandoori tiger prawns and tandoori rawas . Both were very good and perfectly cooked . The prawns pulao was a bit grease but the prawns were so perfectly cooked that they just melt in your mouth . Overall it was great experience for me . What do I say about a place that is so old and so famous that people swear about the quality of food served here.
I have going to Nisarg for almost 15 years now and I have only seen growth there. Growth in terms of space, appearance, service, and quality of food.
Now there are multiple options when it comes to seafood in Pune and specifically Kothrud/Karve Nagar area, but there was time that very few places were there and could boast a loyal base of customers, Nisarg has managed to retain that position, its still the preferred destination for me and the regular patrons I know.
They have managed to maintain and in fact better the consistency of food, fresh produce, and brilliant attentive service.
The pics I have posted are from two most recent visits, both times coming out happy and satisfied. The prices seem a bit high, but take my word for it, the food quality and portions here is so good its is worth every penny.
I can say with utmost confidence that Nisarg is a place to go for brilliant seafood, you wont need to get lucky to get good food here because personally every single visit the food has always been fabulous.

Have heard about this place as a go to place for Sea Food in Pune. Managed to get a table via Zomato booking, otherwise I have been told that it has long waiting. Has valet parking as well
Very simple decor but movement you enter you can see raw fish is on display to see what's fresh catch of the day.
Menu is very simple to understand, the servers are polite and service is very quick. We ordered Mandeli fry, Surmai Tandoori (what a treat to have this) to begin with along with Crab Soup (awesome). Portion sizes are very good. In mains we ordered, Yellow Prawn Gravy, Bombil Fry and rice.
Overall I felt everything was perfect and without alcohol the bill was also reasonably ok (2.2k for 3 people).

Prices are ALL INCLUSIVE. The preparations are simply master class. Ambience welcoming and the staff although not highly trained, make you adequately comfortable with a smile and quick service. The range of spirits is from the humble beer to the best of single malts! Goan prawn curry has liberal number dunked in. Bombil fry, surmai ulta-palta and rawas chatpata heavenly. Hello people, this is just not a restaurant but an experience of authentic indian sea food. Yes they are specialized in indian cuisine with detailing in their flavours. The quality standards of their fishes, prawns, crabs, clams, squid and many more are very high. Every penny you spend at that place just worth it. I must say that nisarg is the best option in seafood we have in pune at present, there are days we have to wait for an hour to get the table but that's worth it. Seafood with indian and international liquor just NAILS IT....CIAO..

First i was dragged to this restaurant to try the food here and after we finish i had to be dragged out. My stomach had reached its elasticity limit and i still wanted more. Such is the quality of food here. A little work on the soups in needed, but their starters and main courses are lip smacking. We decided to order a Crab Manchow Soup and wasnt too satisfied by the taste. We moved onto the starteds and ordered Surmai Tawa & Surmai Ultapulta. And i couldnt be more satisfied. Perfect blend of flavors, right amount of spices. I wouldn't change a thing about those starters. We ordered Surmai Goan Curry for main course and were suggested Amboli to go with it by the person attending us. I was a bit skeptical but decided to order it. And i wasn't dissapointed. Amboli is the best thing to eat with the curries there. Not very pocket friendly, however the quality of the food is which makes up for the price.

This is one of the best places for sea food in Pune. Mouth watering malwani style fish... Their chicken dishes too are taste full. This place has ample seating, but still can be crowded on weekends due to its popularity, so be their early and dig in to amazing food.
If you fish in Pune this is the place to go too!! The surmai tawa and prawns Goan curry is to die for and you have to end your meal with a glass of solkadi.
Rawa masala and prawns koliwada are the other recommendations I would definitely give one.

I do not believe you cannot like anything that you order here, every dish has such a perfect and distinct taste. Complimentary salad is served which is good to munch on till you wait for your food.
Amboli (4.5/5) - A thick multi grain dosa which is soft and goes well if you order any seafood curry heavy on its flavours which the Amboli will help you to balance well and it has a comforting texture to it when it hits your taste buds.
Prawns Fried Koliwada (5/5) - I personally am a fan of Prawns. The prawns here are fried to perfection and further coated in a Koliwada Masala which is one that is originated in Mumbai. The succulent prawns blend in well with the spices and it is a foodgasmic dish.
Surmai Fried Rawa (4.5/5) - Cube like pieces of Surmai fish fried extremely well and coated with Rawa gives it a crunchy texture on the outside and you bite through to relish the soft Surmai meat on the inside. Yum again.
Bombil Fried Koliwada (5/5) - I have ordered this dish always when we have visited this place. This is like I mean you can say the Green Packet of Lays, like each chip you've, You feel like having more. Perfectly fried and coated in spices, this would be a must recommend here.
Chicken Multani (5/5) - At first when the waiter suggested me this dish, I was like I don't know how it will turn out to be but then I would like to thank the guy. This dish is like heaven, chicken meat perfectly cooked which is served in a thick cream gravy and spiced well. This also would be one of the must eats here and goes well with Laccha Butter Paratha.
Surmai Curry Goan (4/5) - A thin coconut based gravy with that goan twist to it and well cooked pieces of Surmai added to it, perfect goan dish and goes well with steam rice.
Surmai Curry Masala (5/5) - Extremely delicious and medium spicy and perfectly cooked pieces of Surmai, must recommend and goes well with Amboli.
Basmati Plain Rice (5/5) - Each grain of Basmati Rice separates well and has a comforting taste.
Solkadhi (5/5) - I have tried this at other restaurants and didn't like it, Someone else on the table ordered Solkadi and happened to try it and it was so good that I ordered one for myself too. Try this here.

You don't visit such a place and expect to not wait, expect waiting but the wait in the end would be worth it as they say. The waiting period isn't that much long whenever I have visited. It can go up to 15 minutes maximum which is not that much.
I have always come across warm service out here, there was one visit when the service wasn't that great but the waiter accepted to it and did apologise which is okay otherwise the service has always been warm and well.

Always hustling with crowd and good on their interiors with something happening in each corner whether it would be the crab structure hung on the entrance, the waterfall in front of the entrance, bird cage near the seating which is down stairs or well built interiors on the inside seating. It's all in all made in such a way that your eyes would always be occupied.

You don't expect such a place to be pocket friendly, It is a fine dining experience which comes at good costs but it is not that expensive when you see the quality of products, the feel and the experience you take away. It is well prices for what they offer.

Give your regular roti and naan a miss and order Amboli instead. It goes fantastically well with the fish/meat curries. If you like lightly battered prawns, do try the Prawns Koliwada. Crab soup is ok, somewhat bland in taste but had a slight smell of raw fish. Pomfret Chatpata cooked in green masala is tasty, more quantity of it in one serving would be appreciated. Surmai Tawa cooked in red masala is also good.
Seafood is something i love and not many restaurants make it right. Well i have 2 favorites already in Mumbai but this one in Pune rocked it for me. Super fresh fish and was cooked perfectly well. Loved the food/ service and everything about the place :) Absolutely amazing.

One word for everything AMAZING. The food, the staff, the ambience everything is great. I just wish the place wasn't that far away. We ordered the the surmai tikka, pomfret rava fry, butter garlic prawns, and prawn masala..We loved the tikka and the fish fry was also good. Prawn masala was decent and the amboli roti was super soft. Butter garlic prawns are on the sweeter side compared to what I've tasted at other places. But if you don't want a sweet starter I think you could avoid this. The service staff is excellent, very helpful and made sure that we were comfortable and liked the dishes. Definitely going again !

I visited this place two days back. We chose this place because it is sea food specialist. Ambience is not lavish but pretty decent. We ordered Crab soup first, and it was really good. You won't find anything unique in soup but it's good. Then we ordered lobster prepared in malvani style. You can eat it with roti but we chose to eat it as starter, and I must tell you it is heavenly feeling. Lobster is pretty costly (1400Rs for medium sized lobster) but it was worth it. Then we ordered pomfret maratha gravy(recommend by waiter) and rice. Pomfret was good but overall preparation and gravy was very ordinary.
So overall, even though food is costly you must visit it if you love sea food.
As a Vegetarian who gets stuck with her family here on various occasions I can vouch for the fact that their veg dishes are pretty delicious too. My favourites are Veg Salt and Pepper and their Paneer Shashlik.

Well well, this place was on my mind since long time! So finally I visited Nisarg and I must say the experience was quite delightful!
First of all, the valet parking saves you most of the headache of finding place to park your car (Punekars know it very well)! The staff greeted us promptly after entering and asked where we would prefer sitting. The staff is very courteous. Service 5/5.
Coming to the menu, they have a separate menu card dedicated to fish! I ordered crab soup (divine nectar) which gives you sheer pleasure of crab taste! I recommend to have this soup as this doesn't have anything else added to it and gives you original crab taste. The captain convinced us to have a single fish for starters and the main course so that it will be more than enough for us! :D so, for the starters, we ordered surmai rava fry which was really good. For the main course we had malwani style surmai curry which was very good too. Solkadhi really gave a soulful lingering taste at the end! I really can't rate food here as I had very little of what was on the menu but to rate what I ordered, I would like to give it 4/5.

Twice. Twice I raided. And twice I got myself defeated. I couldn't move . I ate so much . So much food . And why not. Everything this place offers is yummy . Right from Crab soups to main dishes (2nd time, I couldn't reach main course..I was done at starters itself). What I suggest you must try :
1) Crab Soup
2) Prawns in Salt & Pepper
3) Fried prawns Koliwada
4) Full Surmai (fried, baked, steamed)
5) For veg - Musroom Kadhai
All along with Sol Kadi. It goes with fish dishes.
6) After dinner, even coffee was awesome too (My friend had it).
There is so much to try . So experiment. And enjoy.

The food here is good but not the best sea food ive eaten, contrary to what ive heard. Ive been here twice but I always find sea food in Bombay far better. Yesterday we ordered the following:
The veg manchow soup was ok and standard.
The bombil fry (koliwada) or bombay duck was standard too, with orange colouring.
The surmai tikka was nice while the prawn chilli was good too. Its just the same as paneer chilli but whith prawns instead.
I liked the orange chutney they serve as garnish.
Finally we had malai kulfi which was standard too.
The ambience is average and there's upstairs seating as well.

This restaurant was on the list for long so got a chance to visit it on a sunday as we reached around 7pm its wasnt that crowded as we reached early .

Food : ordered pomfret tandoor tikka , pomfret tandoor chatpata .. tandoor tikka ws awesome loved the smokey flavor nd well marinated overall it ws delicious . while tandoor chatpata ws bland lacked chapataness in it nd it ws smoked so much that it ws actually burnt nd tasted terrible .

The fish starter was really very very yummy and delicious but the fish Goan curry was flat. It was kind of tasteless. It should have been a little salt and sour. But never mind. The other dishes were equally awesome so gave this rating.
Caramel custard was very nice. A must try is the caramel custard.
chicken tangdi kebab is a must have as the chicken is soft and juicy. The chicken actually melts in mouth.
it was my mom's birthday and she had gone there only for the fish curry but it was a big disappointment. So don't know if we will go here next time. You guys can surely try it out. It's a bit heavy on the pockets but for once it's okay.

A pending visit to Nisarg led us to drive all the way there.. it's a very classy looking fine dine that maintains its coastal authenticity. You're welcomed by fresh crabs and fishes as soon as you enter. The aroma in the place is going to get you very impatient to dig into your own food. Needless to say the service is prompt and courteous.
We ordered a number of items from their deliciously made menu.
CRAB MEAT SOUP is a complete feel good thing to start with. It was beyond words with a very clean homely coastal flavour.
BOMBIL RAVA FRY was done so perfectly. Crisp and freggin awesome with a decent portion size but I was sad to see it over. So delicious!!
POMFRET TANDORI was just right with not too much or too little spice. Per-fret!
PRAWN KONKAN CURRY WITH RICE for main course was also foodgasmic and totally excited my taste buds.
Being an avid sea food lover I have been to so many places in the past. The reputation of this place preceeds it. It's probably the oldest sea food restaurant in Pune and the quality was absolutely top notch.
It's priced just right (tad bit on the expensive side if you go all out) BUT MORE THAN WORTH THE EXPERIENCE.

Our experience was pretty good here. Though I have been near this place many time , but never went inside. Today it was raining heavily. we went , food was very good. Service was very good ambience was very good costwise ok for the service they provided. Compare to other restaurants which I dont want to name. It seems everything went good in this place today. Crabs was displayed , staff greeted us with smile also suggested on place selection. Rawas tandoori chatpatavwas good, fresh. Fish was very fresh. Murg musalam with laccha paratha was awesome. Finally we had to ask them to parcel half of it as we failed to finish the lunch :p cost for two was 1500₹ including beer.

Well to start off had to drive through city for about 1 hour nd finally reached Nisarg from Viman Nagar. It was birthday celebration of my neice so had no option. I had been to Nisarg long time back. We had ordered for
* Crab Soup was ok types ,but I prefer Mahesh lunch homes Crab soup more. Then in starters
* Prawns Koliwada- very good in taste Big size prawns which was properly cooked.
* Surmai Rava Fry - Surmai was very thin and the crust was not that tasty , I found it dry , but was not bad
*Surmai Tava Masala - Was to spicy and masala was killing the natural taste of Surmai, would not advice to order.
* Ole Bombil Fry - I was very disappointed by its taste , I regularly eat same Dish at there other restaurant S.P.Biryani house which is always tasty and crispy. I was expecting same at Nisarg but was really disappointing , it was too oily and the coating had very bland taste, masala was not sprinkled over it.
*Pomfret Goan Curry and Amboli - My main course was set and was delightful, very balanced spicies and the taste was killing, and to finish off little bit steam rice, perfect taste was reminding me of Fish Curry rice surmai Plate with a glass of Solkadi
All in all Nisarg is still Standing for its name and Brand , and also for its High Pricing.
But the quick service and friendly staff from valet to waiters to Captains make Nisarg a very Good and enjoyable Experience.
Sea food is nice here ..bit costly but worth eating.. We ordered prawns tastes really nice quantity was less but taste was too good along with two chatnis ..we also ordered Rawa Marath fish which was also good. I do recommend this place guys.

There are some places which have made a special impact on my mind in terms of food, and I want to cherish those memories since ever. Nisarg ticked all the rights on my list. It was a couple of days back when in mid of heavy downpour, I visited Nisarg. First thing to order was crab and the manager at Nisarg helped us with his suggestions whether to try the crab on bone or without bone. So we settled in for crab on the bone and whoa this turned out to be best dish I have had since time. I could have chewed my fingers because it was hell tasty. Must Must try. Coconut and malwani flavors just go so well with these crabs that you can't stop falling in love with them. Next was Rawas Rawa fry. Again a lip smacking amazing dish. Freshness of the fish can be tasted from first bite.
After the crab experience we were quiet stuffed, but settled in for half butter chicken and some tandoori rotis. Again I thought this place was all about seafood, but butter chicken served was great. Simply superb. Gosh I don't know how to express my liking for this place. I don't know what had stopped me till now to visit this place. Love the food. Loved the place.

One of the best sea food restaurants I have ever visited. My roomie suggested me a multiple times to visit the restaurant, and so we thought, to give it a go. During weekends, it is usually very crowdy, luckily we had done a booking, and we visited right on time. At entrance, you will usually find number of sea stuffs at display (pomfret, surmai, lobster and all) . Staff service was at it's best- the "captain" explained us all, what combinations of starter and main course should we be taking to make the visit a worthy one. And so did we had it. Be it, starter or main course, each and every bit of it was extremely delicious. Just loved each and every portion of it. The seafoods were moist, soft, and melty...awwhh!! Prices are a little expensive, but still..if you are a friggin foodie like me, price is of the least of the matters.

The king prawns garlic was very tasty and quite a different thing to experience, the best was the fish tikka, really amazing. Prawns biryani was also very good and the quantity was quite good for 2-3 people
The service was ok , but as it was totally full that day, I can understand that. Ambiance is quite good and lively. Lots of seating space. If you are going on evening, you might have to wait at times due to rush

300+ reviews so I guess most of things would be covered. So based on my experience review.. :)
For us as a family, it is preferred place when we crave see food. Staff is knowledgeable and polite. They can very much customize your order as u prefer or if they can't they'd suggest something that will suit your expectations. But what comes out of that kitchen is 9 out of 10 times nice and flavorful. One thing I noticed over the time, no matter how spicy dish you order, meat is always well cooked and spices would never kill flavor of fish. Can't comment if it is same case with veg and chicken dishes they serve, cause I've never tried them at Nisarg.
On down side, service is slow, so make sure to avoid Nisarg if you are in rush. Or grab a pint to kill the time if you are already there. Also if you can, avoid weekends, too much of waiting and they it takes toll on taste.
So, it's a one of the better places for Sea food in pune but would burn a hole in your pocket.

Well, to be very frank with you all, I had heard a lot of good things about NISARG, ERANDWANE and that's what kept the fire of desire to visiting NISARG burning constantly within me. And voila !!! The day arrived when me, along with my wife and in-laws, finally decided to pay a visit to NISARG for a beautiful dinner.
1. FOOD - The food tasted OK. The quantity and the quality was quite good as well. However, I must say here that I believe and maintain that the price is on a higher side and that the food was not so great to demand a price that high. The overall food is good but not great enough to be priced at what NISARG has priced them.
2. AMBIENCE - Absolutely great and boy! believe me when I say that the ambience is absolutely fantastic. 👍👌👏
I would definitely provide NISARG a rating of 4 out of a total of 5 on the AMBIENCE factor.
3. STAFF & SERVICE - Quite decent staff who carefully listen to and try to understand the requirements and necessities of their customers and most importantly, try their level best to fulfill them. Polite, well-mannered, caring, friendly and attentive staff members of NISARG surely adds to a good dining experience.
However, the service needs to be faster is what I had felt and there is a definite room for improvement.
To summarise, I would definitely recommend NISARG to all. A place worth giving a try !!!!

If sea-food is your weakness then arguably you cannot do much better than visiting this restaurant. It offers a wide variety of dishes in fish, prawns and crabs. We ordered tawa prawns and surmai for starters and both were deliciously made, albeit a bit hotter than I had anticipated. The accompaniment of green coconut chutney added greatly to the taste. Pom-fret curry for the main course completed a fine evening.
The ambiance is nice and service attentive and prompt. The place is not inexpensive though!
As you alight the stairs to exit, you come face to face with an aquarium. I wonder what those fish that preside over the extinction of their kin think of the place! And just outside the main door hangs a giant crab with a notice encouraging you to take a selfie with it. We gave that offer a pass!

Was craving for some sumptuous sea food, went through zomato reviews and decided to land here. The place hasn't changed a lot in years and has the same decor and setting as it had years ago.
They boast of some serious business when it comes to sea speciality. So we decided to put them through test. Started with rawa bangda which I had asked to be made spicy, the bangda was excellent in texture and the rawa coating tasted brilliant with pinch of lime but the chef I believe forgot make the coat spicy. What followed post was brilliant perhaps the best pomfret tandoori I have had in entire life. Excellent texture, perfect roasting and yet the tenderness and the juciness. Couldn't have asked for more perfection there.
Post that we shifted our gears to main course, wherein we ordered tawa prawn with amboli. The amboli was of amazing flavour and had just the right punch and depth. Was really dissappointed us was the tawa prawn, I guess the chef was stoned and decided to out the entire range hot and chilly spices in one dish in one go. The entire dish was overpowered and the prawn was over cooked. Definitely an avoideder even for a spice inclined person.
The captains knows their menu and are very polite and courteous.
Over all we were treated with some sumptuous regional flavour and any one craving for some fresh and yummy sea food can definitely look forward to this place.
We were in a group of 7. We ordered for Rawas Bangda Crabs Lobster. Well prepared. Was happy to note the sauce base were different in crabs and lobster. We were expecting same recipe for both. Selected and Picked them all off the tank. Teesrya were bit average ...might be good idea to get the chef to go and taste teerya at Hotel Sachin Mumbai. Do visit this place for good sea food.
Nisarg is in the top of the list for sea food . I ordered prawns biryani the quantity was enough for two person well the restaurant is quiet expensive . Quality of food is amazing and prawns were fresh but still not the best I've had before . I want to try more dishes so that I can review properly .

Nisarg is famous for sea food.. I think it is the oldest and only restaurant who serves comparatively good sea food. The important thing is tht they have maintained the taste consistently even though the taste is GOOD and NOT GREAT.
We had ordered full surmai (rava and masala) and it was quite good. The quantity was enough tht we 3 people Wer packed after having the same. Before that we had ordered crab soup and it was amazing. Later, we went for prawns biryani and again taste was good.

Tandoori Crabs, Butter Garlic Prawns, Butter Chicken, Prawns Biryani are my personal favorites. Like the outdoor seating of the restaurant better however whenever I have ordered for home delivery, the food quality, temperature is maintained so a great option even when you don t want to step out.
Heaven for seafood lovers.
This place really needs no introduction. This place has an aura of an ocean around it. We had been there when the crabs festival was going on; it was just crabs all over the place.
We started with the crab-soup and bombil-fry. The soup was semi-thick with decent amount of crabmeat. Bombil fry came with a deep fried fish and their special coconut chutney.
For the mains, we had surmai curry and prawns masala, along with amboli. The piping hot amboli and surmai in the curry tasted very good. The prawns were a little spicy, but we had the solkadhi to give the kick of a perfect seafood meal.
The curry was finished off with plain steamed rice and only when every ounce of food from the serving bowls was finished that we got up and gave a rest to our taste-buds.
The staff was extremely courteous. Ambience was decent.

Food is great, expensive but really worth it. They serve amazing crab soup and other crab varieties. I have been here multiple times and have tried various dishes. Lobster in oyster sauce is highly recommended if you are a fan of lobsters. Also the ambience is pretty decent and there's calm music in the background which really compliments the delicious food.

I'm not much of a seafood lover but had heard so much good things about this place that one day I decided to give it a shot. Went there with friends in the evening. All tables were almost occupied but got one table luckily.
We ordered Prawns tandoor and Pomfret sezwan in starters. Prawns were perfectly cooked and the best I've ever tasted.
Pomfret was good too.

Well have heard from lot of people that to have good sea food go to nisarg. Well I have tried and it stands true that this place have awsome sea food. Tried different type of fish starters. Then had prawns and crab( which was too costly). The aroma, taste and the feeling is really good.

This is fish lovers heaven . i have passed many times and have always seen it crowded. its huge inside with multi level seating. ordered squids and one dish which was served on the another table. the dish was same but we were given chopped small pieces unlike the dish which i saw on the other table. The prawns koliwada was good though.

At last after a long wait could savor the taste of this restaurant on the occasion of new years.
We had come early to this place anticipating a huge amount of crowd and waiting for a table. But the crowd was present but their was no waiting.
The ambience of the restaurant will give the feeling of a typical sea food restaurant with the aquariums and live fish counter. The uniform for the waiters are also of the coastal belt with the Goa types shirt on and a hat.
Coming to the food. We ordered crab tawa, prawns schezwan, squids fry and pomphret in Goan curry. The crab tawa was recommended by the waiter and was worth it. The sweet taste of the crab meat and the spicy and tangy masala was amazing. The prawns as well as the squids were upto the mark. The pomphret curry was also amazing with a dash of coconut milk and kokum. And to sum up the entire meal we had solkadi which was also good.
All in all it was an amazing experience. The place deserves a 4.5 but the waiters could have been a little bit more attentive since we had to call them quite a lot of time.

What a way to end the last day of year 2015!
They had kept a special menu for this day with limited fish and chicken items and rates of all of them listed were SKY HIGH!!
Neverthless, the food eating experience was nothing less than exotic filled with awesomeness!
The service was tremendously quick and it looked very apparent to me like the management as well as the attendants working here were all geared up for this day and ready to serve.
They absolutely took no, or very less efforts in displaying us the Crabs and lobsters to getting them on our table in less than 10 mins from the time we ordered anything.
Coming back to the food, The Chef of this restaurant has to be complimented and really hats off to this guy for making such delicious Crabs and prawns!
My photos speak for themselves here. The flavour, the taste, perfection of cooking and the delivering time was indeed awesome.
While other restaurants mostly lack behind in the service section while delivering food, especially during the New year's eve because of the Rush! Nisarg seemed to be very well managed and equipped!
All in all it was a fantabulously fantastic experience and this restaurant will be highly recommended to all the seafood lovers out there!

This place was on my list since long time. I was here in December when Christmas fever was going on and they have "crab, lobster and wine" festival going on. We tried crab soup and surmai platter. Surmai platter comes with one grill item, one rava item and curry.
Great food, good service and nice ambience. Price is more than other places but I think it justifies the quality.
The only reason I am giving it a 5 star rating is because I had my first fish here, and the taste was way above my expectations.The surmai tikka tandoori was extremely delicious and left me mesmerized.The pomfret varieties are also tasty as per their popularity. Will surely visit this place to get more out of it and recommend fish lovers to not miss visiting this mecca of seafood speciality.
The right place to try on sea food! Best part is its not smelly plus the fish is fresh and marinated correctly! The baby surmai dish was the best dish I've ever had there. Too good.. The overall sea food taste is enriched!

Standing tall for more than 15 yrs this authentic seafood restaurant offers fresh fish,lobsters et al cooked as requested. It caters to mostly coastal delicacies. One can never find this place empty so better to make a prior reservations. All in all great location, food & service consistently maintained. Can't go wrong.
I just cannot count how many times I have visited this place. I am a Bengali and is in love with seafoods. This place serves the best seafood in Pune. Ambience wise great and price wise expensive but food wise Worth it. Whenever my parent visit Pune this is our permanent place to visit. I specially like their crabs and prawns items. The food they provide is very delicious and fresh.
Nisarg has always been my first preference for sea food. Although ambience isn't that great, but food and good service makes us ignore that. Prawns in oyster sauce and crab soup is a must try.. Highly recommended!!
Actually the smell of chicken, fish are start from the vehicle parking onwards. :p so lots of people are attract because of ummm smell.. I prefer this place for non veg lover's only coz for vegetarians purpose there are various hotel's in Pune. My advise is hungry people should start from ordering the fish starters follow by murgh musallam and ended with jeera rice . Awesome food quality, as rates are also high . But ya no doubt that taste is up to the mark. Perfect place for get together and for party purpose.. Must try.

Was recommended this place by a few of my friends and really wanted to visit it. One Saturday afternoon I was passing by Null Stop and decided to stop by. Was impressed as I walked through the door. Ample seating both upstairs and downstairs and yet we had to wait a while to be seated as it was full.
The menu is huge and has it all to be very honest. This place is a paradise when it comes to sea food lovers like me. We had some Fish starters that were absolutely delish. Then we ordered some crab gravy with Amboli and some rice. The Amboli went really well with the Crab Curry. And had a good portion of crab in it.
The staff here are very courteous and give you great suggestions in terms of accompaniments. This was the first time I had Amboli and it was good.
I am writing this from a seafood lovers perspective but hey, you get Veg, Mutton and Chicken here too. So if you don't like Seafood, you can still give this place a try.

This is one of my favourite seafood restaurant in Pune. I love their food whenever I visit the place, fish, crab, chicken, biryani, all of them taste awesome...
However I was disappointed with their food when it was home delivered. I had ordered surmai fry and chicken kebab.. But they were disappointing... Too much of butter/oil ruined all the fun.
Still I will rate this high to visit and enjoy the seafood.

Love this place.. Whenever i have a craving for seafood this is the one place i come to... Lovely ambiance & more important amazing seafood.. They serve delicious north Indian too.. My favorites r yummy & spicey PRAWNS TAWA & SURMAI TIKKA which is boneless. BIRIYANI here is very tasty too... Not to forget the most awesome SOLKADHI..I've had solkadhi many times in many places but this one beats all of them..we've tried new dish this time which was EGG MARATHA.. And we were not disappointed.. It was yummy too.. Yes it's a bit pricey but They serve huge quantities... Overall it was awesome experience every single time..
Nisarg means nature, awesome seafood, the best part of the restaurant is lots of variety of seafood, when you look at the menu looks very pricey but when you had everything felt worth & main thing beverages costing really heavy. not for all pockets. overall experience pretty well. surely visit all the time when hungry for fish only ..........

Oh wow. The food is brilliant. The seafood is as good as you'd find in coastal cities. The crab kalimiri is brilliant. Kingfish is very nicely fried and is a good starter. Their ambolis are really soft and probably the best, I've had. Shimple in red gravy is a must try. I can't tell you what else to try because its a long list. Crabs, lobsters, shimple, prawns, etc. Try these whenever you go there.
The place was grt though being a fish speciality restaurant... the smell was less .. very friendly n well mannered staff .. we had ordered surmai .. the quantity was worth the price ..

Let me just say that this is my to go place when i am hungry for fish. They make some of the best fish curries.
Best part is if you are in a large group, you can ask for a single large surmai/pomfret and ask them to make starter and maincourse out of it.
I usually come here during their crab festival, crab curry is a must try for anyone who loves crab meat.
Ambience is good enough, but i must say this restaurant isn't suitable for all pockets.
My friend in Pune took me to this place for some special seafood. If you want to try Konkan seafood, this is a great choice. The ambience and the service at this place is good. If you are not familiar with different fishes, waiters there will be more than happy to help you.
Coming to the most important point, food, it was nice. We tried Surmai, bombay duck and Solkadhi. Solkadhi was really good and authentic (according to my local friend). The curry's were good too. The place is on bit of an expensive side and there are almost no options for vegetarian people.

Nisarg has it's own class. Great ambiance and super delicious food. A little overpriced though. I liked the chicken dishes, especially butter chicken. Seafood is also nice. A must try when you're in pune.

Another awesome seafood place!!!! This place offers lots of options in the seafood department also lots of cuisine styles of preparations...... First off the ambience: fine... They could improve it but the food makes up for it...We had the manchow seafood soup which was pretty good with chunks of fish and prawns with dinstinctive taste and for starters we had the bombil koliwada (bombay duck) which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside so just perfect!
For mains we had tge pomfret curry malwani style with ambolis which are fluffy dosas made of rice flour its a winning combination .. Try it for sure!

Now come to food. We ordered Crab, chicken lollypop, pomplet rawa fry and chicken Biryani.
You got to see crab before making. This was highlight dish of lunch. Chicken lollypop was crispy. Pomplet was nicely done. Chicken biryani here was boneless with tender chicken and nice aroma. Solkadhi was soothing after such wonderful lunch

Whoever says the biryani here is best, probably haven't had a good amount of biryani around pune, seafood here is excellent but I will not suggest to go for biryani because the quantity of biryani was extremely poor it wasn't even enough for 2 people whereas it is priced at approx 490/-

When i read seafood speciality in Pune, i didn't expect much, but this place can go head to head with any seafood place in Mumbai.They have a separate menu for seafood, that speaks volumes!!
Started off with what i think was the best solkadi ever (other than my mom), ordered surmai tikka- heavenly boneless chunks . Then had amboli (piping hot, light and fluffy) with prawns goan curry( perfect mix of tang and zing) and a spicy red chatney!! polished it off with steamed rice! Pleasently surprised and completely satiated!! Kudos Nisarga!!

The butter garlic Prawns are worth it! The white garlic sauce that they serve with it is perfect... chicken banjara is also a good dish to try. Fresh sea food is all that matters after all & they always keep up to it
Its a perfect place for Indian seafood. They do serve a variety of mughlai and chinese too; but a personal suggestion stick with the traditional seafood preparations as their traditional recipes surpass perfection.

Last night, I was craving Chicken and my friend for Fish. There was no other place where we can satisfy our self except 'Nisarg'. The place is very famous joint for Sea food and those who love (and know how) to eat Crab and Lobsters.
It was not our first time to be there, hence most of the staff is aware of us and our taste. Sometime, I really appreciate them to track me :) They always help me to get some lovely food on my plate.
We had 'Surmai Tukada', 'Prawns Chatpata' and 'Chicken Koyala Kabab'. Both sea food dishes were exactly as we'd thought and expected to be. Perfectly marinated tandoor fish was crispy from outside, but tender and juicy from inside. The all spices was well blended and you hardly can distinguish single out from them. I think prawns was not well baked. but again I'm not hard core fan of sea food.
'Chicken Koyala Kabab' is not recommended for sweet tongue people. Don't even look at that plate, it's not for you. The dish is so spicy, that I bet, you can't finish your portion, without a sip of water or whatever beverage your are enjoying there. Hot, crispy and Super Spicy is the combination for me and all meat lovers who want to twist/bit their tongue once. This plate is marked in my list to order again, for my next visit :)
I can suggest many menu to try there, but go with any dish and I am sure you will love the preparation and tasty food at Nisarg.
It's over crowded place any day of the week and don't expect to get a table in 20-30 min on weekend. You can choose your fish or Crab, if there are more than 4 members on your table. Price will vary, depend on size of the Crab or Fish (negotiate here, is your skill). Solkadhi is MUST with your sea food.

I've been here when I was visiting pune a month back. Couple of my cousins had suggested this.
I visited during the lobster festival. So there was extremely good variety for lobster and crabs on the menu.
And I had butter garlic lobster. Which was just mind blowing. Such amazing preparation, perfect flavour and amazing presentation. Other than that we had soups and some chicken starters which also were as good as the lobster in quality.
Service is good
Rates are fine
Flavour is excellent
Music and overall ambience is good.
Definitely worth the visit.

Being a vegetarian for most of my life, I have never been one with the idea of eating sea food. (Well being a Gujarati mainly gives me reason enough to be unaware of sea food).
But the last weekend, some things changed for good. A couple of friends suggested we try Nisarg for Sea food as it is one of the most talked about places when it comes to fresh sea food. So a long drive through the never ending traffic later, we ended up at Nisarg. The place was filled with people so we had to wait a good 20 minutes before we were shown to the table. But restaurants these days place ipads and what not so people can pass the time while waiting. Not the case at Nisarg. They place a large container with crabs and i must admit it was a major attraction for kids and grown ups alike. The large aquariums add to the feel and it almost seems like dining in a large aquarium.
We ordered:
- Prawns fried (Golden fried)
- Surmai Tandoor (A must have)
- Rawas Fried
- Kalimiri Crab
- Malwani Crab curry
The food was rich in flavors and contrary to my expectations, very colorful. The service is very quick even though the place was packed.
To wind it up, we ordered the caramel custard and chocolate scouffle which were both soft and sweet. (The pictures came out pretty detailed).
I am now looking forward to my next visit and to try some more dishes from recommendations.

An excellent place for seafood fanatics. The ambience is formal. Since this place is known for seafood, we ordered butter garlic prawns which were very delicious but quite heavy on the palate. The mutton curry we order was satisfyingly tasty. Though the dishes we ordered were not quite enjoyed by me, I would still suggest seafood lovers to give it a definite try.

“Nice place for fresh lobster but at premium rates”
Craving for lobster lead me to the “Nisarg”. Exists since long-long time and always crowded.
Frankly, there are not many options available in Pune for same where you can pick raw (what you want to eat) tell the preparation and it is cooked for you… Nisarg is one of those places.
Walked in early evening earlier this month on one of the Sundays. Valet parking and the team was courteous.
Ambiance-
Two levels of seating. It was nearly jam-packed but there was a table available adjacent to the bar near entrance. Illumination was decent for dining (could see the food). Aging was clearly visible on everything. There was no smell of oil or fish in the dining area which was great. Average ambiance!
Menu-
Vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations; with emphasis on see food. Once you have selected the fish you would like to eat you have option to go for starter or mains as well as preparation type which are mentioned in the menu e.g. Tawa, Rava, Koliwada, Tikka etc/ Kokani, Malwani, Goan, Masala, Maratha etc.
Meal –
The lobsters were kept on ice-tray and I picked one which appeared freshest. It was about a pound plus.
Opted for butter garlic preparation. Knowing the preparation well, requested for addition of pepper to make it bit interesting but the request was refused and counter-request made to add on table myself.
Also asked for Surmai (tandoor) Chatpata.
Nicely platted lobster was on the table in 10 minutes. Preparation was rich creamy-cheesy-garlicky preparation. Fried garlic crumble was magical but it was blander and sweeter than expected (though I was warned). Overall… tasteful!!!
Surmai Chatpata was hot n spicy; tender preparation in green base which was served with tangy-spicy salad. Great!!!
Everything went well with a bottle of popular Indian mild beer.

It was Rs2580… the final sum… definitely overpriced place.

I have been to this restaurant for years. It has been our go to place for sea food and always lives up to its reputation.
The fish kebab tikkas are always a fav and so is the Goan fish curry and rice.
The fish is always fresh, the preparations are flavourful.

Only for sea food lovers. Being a sea food lover I liked this place. Great variety in prawns, crabs & fish. People should try crab soup , Prawns chatpata , butter garlic prawns at this place. Variety of options in Roti like Amboli, Chapati which easily goes with sea food.
Nisrag is one of the best places to enjoy seafood. They have a wide selection to choose from and the fish is quite fresh. Although it is a little expensive but the portions are good enough to justify the price tag. The food is good and my favourite here is Prawns Biryani. The curries, starters are equally good. Always love going there.

Nisarg is primarily known for its seafood and it lives up to its reputation. The food is quite good and portions are generous so sharing is a good idea. Prawns are usually a good bet and can be had in a variety of curries. A thick curry is recommended, else you will have trouble in finishing. Haven't tried too many from the fish menu, however the surmai is usually good.

I'm shocked that I have been away from sucha fantastic place for sea food lovers. I was here with my hubby for a dinner. Everything ordered had the right amount of spices and tasted fresh. It was my first time experience with squids and it tasted fabulous . The manager helped us in ordering the right dishes according to our liking. Would love to try out their khapra pomfret next time around because it looks really tempting. Bombil Rava fry squids Pompret ulta pulta and prawns koliwada are a must try out here. And the quantity is quite good for 3-4 person

Tried Bacardi Rum cocktail and it was awsommmme. In starters I ordered Pomfret Boneless Tawa Fry. It was such a testy that I will remember always. Ambience bith AC and NON AC are very royal. They change the interior every 3 yrs, thus its always refreshing sitting here. Best place for special treat.

Once I tried chicken curry which was of average taste and I would suggest you to stick to the sea food menu strictly.the ambience is nice and well maintained with few big fish tanks in the every side of the hotel which keep kids entertained most of the time.
My taste for sea food developed from this place. Squids,Fishes, Crab soups, Neer Dosa, Solkadi list is unending. This place has never disappointed me. There carb festivals are again awesome. Only issue is with the long waiting queue. Service is good. Bit expensive but worth it.
A fisher lovers paradise. You would always find this place crowded but the service is really quick. The catch is always fresh. A lovely place to eat out with your family. It's slightly heavy on your pocket but then if you getting the taste you really wouldn't mind paying the price
I happened to visit Nisarg on 02-05-2015.I & my family were treated to a fantastic seafood experience by our family friends, The Pitkars who regularly visit this place. The first thing one notices when you enter is the display of the fresh catch of the day including crabs.We were 8 people including my daughter.Unfortunately the air conditioning on the upper level was not working.So that was the only glitch.But when the food came on the table, everyone forgot about it.To start with we had squid pepper garlic, surmai done in tandoor style ie; pahadi & chatpata style as recommended by the waiter.We also had prawns koliwada.All there starters were fresh & perfectly done.The starters itself were so filling that no one was willing to order the main course.Finally we ordered sol kadi.It was perfect.Normally I'm a bit reluctant to have seafood outside cause my mom is an awesome cook.But even she enjoyed it.Will certainly come back to Nisarg.

The place is very well known for its Sea Food delicacies. Located at one of the busiest areas, so you may struggle parking your vehicle, still they provide assistance. With a very wide variety of the menu the place make its mark among the highest rated sea food restaurant s in the city. Try most of the sea food dishes as you can as everything getting served here is equally good.
Among starters we have tried Fried Prawns & Pomfret and later fish curries. But I believe sea food tastes better in fried form. Chicken is also good. But let’s talk only bout sea food. Heard crab preparation is also good, if you like you can try. Surely a must visit restaurant for sea food in the city.

I am a huge fan of Sea-food and also of Nisarg. It serves the best Sea-food in Pune that I know of. They have a good fine dine ambiance appropriate for family. I just love their Prawns Malwani and Goan curry with Amboli as bread and Solkadi to drink. I usually don’t dare to try Solkadi outside but they just serve the best. The service here is quick and the waiters do suggest appropriate dishes. If you craving for Sea-food then this is the place to dine.
They have featured in super seafood collections, and they deserve it. This place is just amazing. Great service and great ambience.
The seafood here tastes like Konkan. if you are seafood fan then try Chatpata Surmai and Pomfret in starters. it is finger licking tasty. One of our friend don't eat seafood, so we had ordered chicken as well. And that too did not let us down. Taste was amazing.

The place is very hygienic. Doesn't smell of fish even one bit.. Seafood they serve is fresh! Totally loved it! A little pricey... But food is worth the cost!

The quality and options available in sea food at nisarg is mind blowing!
We ordered Crab Soup, Prawn Koliwada starter, Lobster Schezwan, and one whole surmai which was made into 3 different starters and konkan style curry. The taste, as well as presentation of each of these dishes was awesome. The lobster was served in it's shell.
The service at Nisarg was prompt and courteous. Many of the above dishes were suggested by our waiter. You can ask your waiter to show you the fish/lobster/crab before it is cooked.
The ambience complemented the sea food cuisine of this restaurant. At the entrance, there was a fish tank with crabs in it. There was a Crab Room, although there were no crabs in it when we came. All the different fish were laid out near the stairs.
All in all, an excellent place for sea food lovers.

Went here for Saturday lunch with the wife and another couple. Good ambience. Convenient valet parking. The star of the show is the seafood. There's a tank at the entrance where you can see the live crabs. You can ask the staff to show you the live crab on a plate before they cook it for you. We started with the seafood soup. It was nice and mild with little bits of fish in a steamy broth. We also ordered the surmai starter. There's several options. We went with the ulta-pulta since that's not deep fried. It was very tasty but a little bit spicy. One of the pieces had bones. So they need to be careful about that - either serve boneless or all bone-in. We followed up with prawn curry Malvani style and rice/amboli. The Malvani style was very mild and flavorful. The quality of the prawns was good. I gave this restaurant high points for another reason. They have great veggie options and that's always an obstacle if you want to go to a seafood joint and one of your party is a vegetarian. One of our party was eggiterian. She ordered veg crispy and egg Maratha. Both were very good. We ended with solkadhi that was also good.

This review is a perfect example of "How not to order in a speciality restaurant". So we went here for a lunch with a friend whom we were meeting after almost a year. Parking is a problem both for two wheelers as well as cars. We reached here without booking as no review seemed to have mentioned that a necessity and rightly so. Though the place was pretty packed (thanks to the Crab, lobster and Wine Festival) we managed to get a table the moment we walked in. Good for us.Now the interiors are pretty nice. Honestly speaking, looking at the exterior facade I didn't expect it to be this good. Add to it their festival and the place was decked up pretty well. We took up a table on the first floor (yeah, they have a pretty good seating arrangement as well). After the initial chit chat we ordered a beer, a butter milk and a lime soda. We were served nuts and chips as accoutrements with beer.Now when it came to ordering starters and main course, I suggested the crab and lobster (makes sense since they specialize in these). Now surprisingly, everyone had given up on sea food for some of the other weird reasons. Now what do you do in such a situation? Walk out and go to another place? We decided otherwise. We ordered a veg ball manchurian (dry), chicken reshami kebabs and chicken lollipop. Now we were all very well aware of the perils of ordering a chicken dish in an all fish/ crab/ lobster place when they are even celebrating a seas food fest. the attended gave a quick yet quiet chuckle and we laughed at ourselves a bit too. But nevertheless we had committed ourselves to this place for the afternoon.The manchurian arrived first. It was fine and seemed pretty good. No complains here. Next came the reshami kebabs. Now I've had this dish at numerous places, even at authentic punjabi and mughlai joints but I've never tasted a sweet reshami kebab. It was served was, what seemed like malai/ cream, and had a sweet tinge. The chicken pieces were soft and tender. While this sweet taste didn't exactly appeal to me, my friends seemed to like it a lot! We next started with chicken lollipops. They were a disappointment since the pieces seemed to be oozing a bit of oil. They were too crunchy and lacked the tenderness and taste of the authentic taste. U can't really blame Nisarg much, but even then a place of this calibre should have a decent offering of chicken and other items. The Nisarg experience starts right from the time you arrive here. You are hustled by the hyper-active valets, and on weekends, you have to settle for a parking spot a good hundred meters away. The restaurant itself seems to have about 25 covers, and a tightly-knit serving team ensure that you spend more time eating than standing around waiting for your turn at the table. Everyone seems to concentrate more on speed than accuracy, and sometimes both end up going against the authentic seafood culinary experience (which is basically a lazy, sea-breezy, laidback experience). Within seconds of you occupying your designated table, an eager beaver waiter comes to your table with a menu card, and waits for 30 seconds while you peruse the options available. They promptly suggest the house favorites when they realize that you are spoiled for options, and for good measure too. Nisarg kinda spoils you with the plethora of items on the menu card. No matter what you order, each preparation is top-notch! A good touch is to bring the catch to the table, and one can touch/feel their soon-to-be-meal. For the squirmy, I would recommend informing them not to bring the catch to the table, whilst placing the order itself. Nisarg's occasional seafood festivals are much cause of delight, as the seafood is super-fresh, and the combos are hard-to-resist. The downside as always, is the parking issue. With so much popularity, I assume this is going to happen no matter where they relocate to. Keep up the awesome legendary cuisine, Nisarg!

Visited for diner with my wife. We had to wait for 20-25 min, it being a friday night. Ambience is really good.
Currently there is crab and lobster festival going on. We ordered a Sol kadhi (1/2), it was trully authentic.
For starters we ordered
1) Gobi manchurian: it was quite good. Happy that my wife was contended.
2) Lobster schezwan: it was just awesome.
Quantity was good. (Rs.1200/-)
For main course we ordered:
1 veg. Biryani which was also good to taste.
I asked captain if he could give me some fish malvani curry along with. He provided it in a bowl (complimentary).
Was happy about my visit after 2-3years.
This place felt more lively today.
Moreover, my seafood cravings were totally fulfilled. This all for just Rs.1640/-(incl. of all taxes) added to my happiness!!!

Let me confess, this is my all-time favorite place for slurping up some great sea food. I don't remember a single instance where in I was let down when it comes to taste and service.
They also have a valet parking service. So this is a blessing, because this place is located round the corner of a bustling main road. If I were to find a parking on my own, it would mean some precious time lost before I could dig into amazing sea food fare.
They have an indoor seating area as well as alfresco. Either of the two areas are good enough. Neat and well maintained decor.
Service is super efficient.
They generally show you the raw seafood, especially fish and crabs before ordering the chef to cook your meal to perfection. I have usually chosen my fish/crab before placing an order. One has a choice of Malwani or North Indian preparation for the same. I usually go for Malwani. I love the taste each time and it keeps me wanting for more. The only down side this part of the city is a little too less frequented by me. So I literally have to make special plans to go there for a hearty meal. I don't mind though! ;) I have done it so many times and loved my experience each time.
All you vegetarians out there, don't be disheartened. There is a good enough choice for you as well. Of course not as good as sea food options. :)

The yummiest butter garlic prawns iv ever eaten!! A must visit for seafood lovers. The solkadi is superb, so are the malwani curries. Ambolis can be had instead of rice..tastes lovely. Good ambience, courteous service and not too heavy on ur pocket.. :-)

Probably the best restaurant for sea food in town. Although being a sea food special restaurant, the chicken here is equally good. Its because of this restaurant I started liking fish more. Quality food, clean ambience and good service makes it worth spending money on.

We had Rawas rawa fry and pomfret boneless tukda for starters. Both were amazing. The pomfret just melted in our mouth. For main course we had rice and surmai red curry. The portions were large and good enough for two. To sum up this is one of the places for seafood .
I'm not a Sea food eater at all. But wanted to try this & wow .. what a place this is. Excellent sea food served. Ambiance is cool. Food is super cool. Excellent taste with curries. Planning to visit this place again. I tried this Goan Fish Curry & Malvani Prawns curry. Taste was very good. This place is definitely a heaven for sea food lovers. Best Place for members of all age. Newly renovated and slicker the menu had certainly gotten more expensive and now at par with some of its bretheren from Bombay. The menu is extensive and straddles across all cuisines. However what sets it apart is that it offers local maharashtrian cuisine in addition to all the seafood mayhem. Try the mutton sukka and the prawn Maratha with amboli ( a dosa like preparation). To sum it up this is certainly a place that will draw you back for years.
Searching for good quality sea food??? Then you have come to the right place... Good, typical Indian style fish you will get here. Heavy on your pocket and you may not find it that worth..but visiting it once in a while is affordable. On weekends there are never ending waiting lines so I usually prefer home delivery. Ambience is ok. Outdoor seating needs to be improved. Best part of Nisarg is their Solkadi!!

Yes, this place is a sea food paradise for people living in Pune. Even though there is a Mahesh Lunch home in pune (very famous for sea food in mumbai), people still prefer to come here.
I am not too much of a sea food lover, mainly because i am allergic to a certain type of shell fish which even i am not aware of, so i tend to abstain most of the time. But i do love pomfret, bangra, king fish and prawns is just my absolute favourite.
For the first time i tried Bombil (bombay duck) here, the fish always looked unattractive to me, but i must say it tastes delicious after being cooked. People at my table also ordered for oysters, seafood soup and crabs, which they devoured in no time. To give this place a test, i also ordered for a chicken pahadi kebab to see if they meet the standards of non-sea food dishes as well. Turns out, the chicken was good too.

One of those places that you should visit for the ambience OR if you love seafood. Or else avoid it. Fish and prawns were tasty. Chicken dishes weren't anything extraordinary. The service is pretty slow. Costs are high. I personally don't think it's justified. But it can be if you're craving for seafood.

Its my 3rd time i am visiting nisarg. And without any 2nd thought they have amazed me each time.
The service, elegance, food quality, decor and last but not the least politeness of the staff is just delicious.
The food quality is really good and this is one of the great places in kothrood area.
Last week we went to 'Nisarg' as I was craving for seafood. It was our second time we went to this place. Earlier we have been here for more than 3 years ago. And nothing is changes then. Same food quality, good service and satisfying food.
What we ordered was
In starters- Pomfret Tandoor and Fried Surmai
In main course- Goan ravas curry-with Butter naan.
After placing order we waited for about 15-20 minutes and we get our food on our table served hot.
attendant/ waiter who was serving us was good, he helped us choosing our menu.
Pomfret tandoor was seriously awesome. It was perfectly cooked to perfection with great taste.
Only thing which is not so satisfying is the cost of the seafood dishes here.
It is little bit on higher side as pee cost consideration.

Being a sea food lover from Mumbai , i always had been choosy about sea food places. I always thought sea food that would be served in Pune wouldnt be as fresh as it could be in Mumbai. Plus , preparing fish is no easy task like chicken or other meat. Every fish has different preperation.
So i chanced to visit Nisarg with a friend of mine who suggested this place. Actually he was not from Pune but had actually heard about Nisarg from other.
Trust me i was pleasantly surprised. My giving 4.5 stars says it all. Ambience is really good. Restaurant has ample lighting which is must in any sea food restaurant.
We ordered crab masala , then rawa , surmai , bombay duck , all of them were really amazing. Fresh and authentic tasting.
Best part was waiters were taking real care while serving and also were suggesting what should be have. For example , i dint know they served "Amboli" which speciality that i have at home. They made sure , that dishes filled with bones and stuff were cleared instantly which added to our experience.
I have been to Mahesh Lunch Home which is in other side of town , trust me , Nisarg fares way better in terms of quality and price.
Famous for Seafood and stands by that. You will fund two menu cards, one smaller leaflet dedicated to seafood. We tried Surmai chapata tikka, Veg Manchurian etc and food was tasty. Overall decor us good for family or small groups. But be prepared long waiting unless you reach early. If you are a seafood lover, then the place is highly recommended. Nice food, good service and reasonable as compared to Mahesh lunch home.

What 'Mahesh Lunch Home' is to Mumbai, 'Nisarg' is to Pune. Tried, tested and truly authentic for every sea food lover. Been here many times, so this review is a collective of all my experiences of Nisarg.
1. Food: As mentioned earlier, truly authentic and good in quantity too. Have tried a variety of items from their menu, never have been disappointed. They also serve drinks which are priced on a slightly higher side.
2. Ambience: The decor is slightly fine dine with separate A/C and non A/C sections. Both work, except when you're visiting in the peak summers in Pune.
3. Value for Money: For the flavour and freshness of the food, it is worth every penny.
The only reason this scores a 4.5/5 on my scales, is the VERY RUDE waiters. They will ignore you and serve with such a haste that half your food falls off the plates and on their table mats.
But overall in one line, If you like sea food, then this is a not to be missed place.
If you are a sea food lover u must visit this palce once.

The second best place for fish so far in ALL OVER PUNE. After the 3rd visit I truly feel you'll never get boredom from nisarg. It's the best place after mahesh. But rather cheap comparatively. It's preferable to spend 2 or 3 k than 10. The food is delicious. They have their special delicacies and it takes at least 3 visits to try the best ones;(as I did).

Fish eater's heaven come true. That's nisarg. Its not just fish. They also serve some of the best prawns, crab amongst many other sea food items. Brilliantly cooked, great flavour, and spicy just to the right proportion. Its a really good place. The waiting time itself is a testimonial to this. Whatever you have from here wont disappoint you. You get to choose your crab as well. Its fun! A lil on the expensive side. But this is pune where good seafood restaurants are sort of a luxury to find!!

The Prawns are exceptional... The tandoori prawns as well as the malwani.
The Shimples are mouth watering, especially the tawa masala Shimples.
The Crab soup is refreshingly tasty.
The main course dishes like Pomfret curry or The Surmai curry are simply too good.

The whole "look" of this place is awesome...the crab hut...the water sprinklers....gives you a feeling of a small coastal settlement.
The food is really good. We had :
crabmeat soup, fried rawas for starters, mori curry and amboli for the main course.
each and every dish was good in it's own way :)
The ambiance is good and the service is very prompt ( like really fast)
A little high on the pocket pinch...but hey that's OK.

I am sad that we didn't visit this place much earlier than May-2013 - having been in Pune for more than few years! For someone who loves coastal cuisine - its a must visit. Set amidst central Pune, the place is much more than you would expect.
Excellent outdoor seating, valet service in the midst of busy traffic :-), staff actually knows what they are serving, non flashy and yet perfect service and goooood food!! We reached quite early for dinner - something you should do if you love food and hate waiting outside. We had Halwa ulta pulta and Crab curry, awesome along with the usual solkadi and rice based breads! Surely planning a second visit soon.
In comparison to Mahesh lunch home, this is leagues ahead! Has to be on-par with Coconut grove!

Food: Not only the seafood but chicken served here has always been delicious. There are always some festivals going on and most of them are worth visiting there. Crab butter garlic, murg musallam, multani chicken, chicken biryani and any grilled or tawa fried sea food.
Service: Fair. Not much of a waiting time.
Ambience: Sitting arrangements on 2 floors and outdoor sitting available as well. Nothing notable with the decor but nothing annoying as well.
Value for money: Yes. Absolutely.
A very posh and delightful place to be. Sea food lovers must visit this place atleast once if they are in pune. The Pomfret curry...yummie yum, it just melted in the mouth. Theres a variety of selection to choose from when it comes to fish curries. Bangda Curry was also a yummie delight to have.
Service is good and quick paired with a soft music at the background. Ambience is truly amazing and can sweat some of the best 4-5 star hotels.
Do try out the Chaach/solkadi after your done with the meal.

There is no better place than this in pune to have sea food... Not only in terms of the quality of the food served but also in terms of the variety of the spread on offer...they have an extensive sea food menu which can easily shame any other Sea Food Speciality claming restaurant in the city...and just in case you are wondering they also do serve other vegetarian and non vegetarian items and dishes, which are equally well made.... i am a regular here and i absolutely love this place.....must visit for fish lovers....ull never get tired of eating here...the service and the attitude of some staff needs drastic improvement though...nonetheless the tasty fare served here overshadows everything and leaves you very contented...
Awesome sea food, with Malvani, Konkani and Goan styles. Just a bit heavy on the prices, but considering the quality, you won't mind paying that extra. I have always got good service. The maître d' knows what exactly is the dish and always has good recommendations.

I and friends were craving to have sea food and I must say we were all happy to have chosen this place to enjoy wonderful sea food. Completely satisfied and left with a smile. Now shifting to the main part, food. We had Crab clear soup, which I must admit is by far the best I had. The crab meat was well boiled and the quantity was good too. The thickness of the liquid was nearly perfect. Tasted well. We had malvan Boneless crab curry and konkani surmaai curry along with it chapati. The crab curry was delicious. The gravy had a nice texture with a nice red colour and had a good balance in taste. The crab meat was well cooked. The Surmaai curry was delicious too. Curry was bit extra spicy, otherwise it had good thickness to it and tasted well. The fish was really well cooked and it was boneless, so it made it a lot easier to enjoy it more. The fish quantity was good enough. The quantity of both the dishes was appropriate for 4 people. Then we ordered Prawns biryani which was like a cherry on the cake. It was exquisite. Masala was well mixed with the rice and was cooked really well. The taste was balanced. They added king prawns and were soft and crispy. Though i didnt feel it justified the price tag of 345 as the quantity was less than expected. Of course, Ended the wonderful dine with solkadi. :)
Overall, wonderfull place to fullfull your sea food cravings. It is bit expensive, but you'll be satisfied.

Nisarga is quite an old place located near one of the busiest junction on Karve road- Nal stop. I have visited this place quite often. Easy to find and valet parking facility is available. Once you enter this place you will find it well maintained and as the name suggest it reflects in the décor & theme of restaurant. Fish tanks in this restaurant are really an eye catching ambience.
For quite a long time this was the only restaurant serving sea food in this area, rather I would say Nisrga was known for because of sea food. But, now fish lovers can find many reasonable options in this area- I am saying reasonable because any dish served here is overpriced compared to quantity and other similar category restaurants in this area.
What I ordered was bone less rawas fry, chicken tikka and bone less chicken biryani.
Rawas fry was good in taste but too little in quantity.
Chicken tikka was well marinated and tasty.
Chicken Biryani- Nisraga being a sister concern of SP’s Biryani house you will find the same taste over here- Cannot say it is an authentic biryani! White rice which we normally see served along with any biryani was not there and flavored rice tasted like a pulao. Over all dish was tasty and spicy enough.
Service was good and efficient.
If you are run out of options for sea food then no harm in trying this place once a while.

I heard from many people about this place and its fresh sea food. Yeah, as boosted by people the place was good in all aspects. Price is in little higher side but definitely sea food lovers wouldn't mind for the quality they get here.

Having had to draw short of expectation at another seafood restaurant, I decided to explore this place while a friend from Goa was visiting me in town.
To start off, I was surprised that Nisarg served premium imported beers (Hoegaarden namely).
The staff here really know their stuff and can suggest your food to you very competently. We ordered for a prawns koliwada and a pomfret malvani for starters. The prawns tasted great but the pomfret was simply awesome in the green marinade.
For the mains we ordered crab masala and rumali rotis. The crab was great but in comparison to the starters we had seemed a bit of a bummer.
The service here is extremely courteous and the ambiance is decent.
The place is somewhat pricey but it is supposedly a specialty / fine dine restaurant so don't be alarmed with your bill.
If you are looking to make a great evening there are other great places around, but if you are craving for smashing sea food served in an uppish environment then this is definitely the best place in Pune

One among those good seafood restaurants in Pune with good ambiance and an improved service. (over last few visits)
Happened to visit last weekend for a 'spirited' dinner and had a pretty decent experience. I was little reluctant to visit there due to with service delays during my previous visits; but still thought of giving it a try.
I always loved their ambiance, especially their bar and the display :), so opted for that view ;). Started with crab manchow soup, as suggested by captain and it was excellent (i gave that a try even over my drink) and for starter, I ordered chicken salt and pepper, it was good too.
For main course, i settled for Gavran Chicken Handi and roti. Chciken was nicely cooked, but the gravy mild spicy for a gavran dish, but still it was enjoyable. Even the gravy went well with steam rice.
Overall a good experience, a little pricey though. Recommended.

Nisarg is supposed to be last word in Pune for authentic Goan/Konkani sea food, and I agree with that popular opinion, to some extent. The Fish Tandoor platter is simply amazing, with enough quantity to satiate the hunger of 4-5 people till the main course arrives. If you ask them, they will prepare it in two different ways and serve you both as one platter. The crab curry however failed to impress, tasting very mediocre and definitely not upto the mark. Against better judgement by others on the table, I decided to try the Chicken Maratha, and found it to be delicious. Quantities are quite large, but then again, so are the prices (which seem to go up year on year, riding the fame wave). The prawns biryani too was quite well-prepared with the right amount of spices. While you are at it, try the 'solkadi' as well.
Definitely worth a visit for the number of seafood offerings.

It was my sons bday and I was at my in-laws place in Pune, who are not so keen in eating meat, so I asked my brother in law to suggest on a decent sea food joint, that's when I got to know about this place. Did a little research to confirm if it suits my "Goan standard" in terms of taste and freshness of the fish, coz we Goans like our fish in only one way - Fresh.
Since we had had a reservation we didnt have to wait for too long, which, I would advise others to do also. Reserve. I was served a welcome drink, at the waiting area which was a mixture of red wine with sol kadi if i remember right. it was kinda too harsh for my taste buds so decided to skip it after a sip.
We were seated in a comfy area with the wait staff eager to put out their best. When the staff suggested that we could choose a fish and they could mix n match the type of dish we wanted my eyes lit up and immediately asked to view the fish. There came a nice baby surmai ( king fish ), gills perfectly moist and pink indicating its freshness and later a nice alive king crab. We preferred the surmai and asked them to prepare it for starters in 2 ways, the Ultapulta, as suugested by the staff and then ofcourse the traditional rawa fry. Apart from this some members went in for the Chicken wanton soup some spring rolls and Paneer Chilly. The soup was as delicious as it smelled and the spring rolls fresh and crispy. The paneer was soft and fresh and the combi of chilly with paneer was just perfect. Thats when the surmai ulta pulta arrived, i was a bit skeptical when i ordered this dish and went in with the staff recommendation, and I was right, all it was, thinly sliced surmai pieces sauted in a masala of onions and garam masala, and other spices just to enhance the taste. But no not to my liking. The rawa fried fish was a better option for me and tasted good too. Perhaps the Goan in me likes it that way.
The main course ordered was steamed rice with Goan prawn curry for some where as the veggie member had a veg fried rice. But the staff apologized some time later that they cannot provide the steam rice (probably they ran out of steam) instead if we would do with plain white rice, which was ok to us and decided to go with it. But the Goan prawn curry was a huge disappointment. I would not brag about how good it is from the place I belong but say that the basic key ingredient coconut milk or fresh grated coconut was missing from the Goan Prawn curry. How could that be possible? Probably along with the steam they ran out of coconuts too.
But having said that I wouldn't take away the credit of the ambiance, taste, freshness and apt service from Nisarg.
Nisarg is the one of the best place to have sea food. You can get authentic konkani / goan style food. Fish Curry served is just out of the world. Nothing beats them ...nothing at least in Pune. They do have food festival like Crab Festival etc. Nisarg has good ambience on top of its amazing tasty food which makes it a regular place for puneties.
I recommend prawns curry / kingfish curry and rice. And don't miss its soulcurry.

Food was great! Had crab maratha and surmai goan curry for main course. I thought the curry was warm and not super hot how I like it.. maybe this was because they are all pre cooked..
For starters we ordered for a half portion of a huge surmai fish (which they brought to our table to show us the size).. we decided to go for just half of it as we were 5 of us because of the size but to be honest we could have had the whole damn thing.. I guess after cooking the portion looked small as compared to the whole fish.. or they dint actually give us the whole half fish.. who knows.. the taste was amazing.. surmai tandoori and ulta palta.. both were really good.
Disappointment - Crab Soup.. tasted like chicken sweet corn soup..
Also the spices in the crab maratha over powered the taste of the crab itself.. but the curry grows onto you after a bit.. defn going there again to try the different styles of crab..
Overall worth the experience!

This is the place to fall in love with fish! I visited Nisarg for lunch. Impressed with pophret fish starter. Malwani surmai curry was good, but not great. Wish I would have ordered something more tasty and spicy. Solkadhi was as good as it can be. Service was really good (may be because that time rush was less). Little overpriced though for less quantity! But overall great experience and will visit back!

Everytime I come to Pune from Mumbai and I had a craving for fish, I had to hold back till I got back to Mumbai. This was until I discovered Nisarg. This eatery around Nal stop is now one of my favourite joints in pune.
Out of the few times I have been here some of my favourite dishes are Bombil fry, surmai tawa fry, prawns masala, tisrya, mori curry, prawns biryani. You can wash down your meal with a sol kadi which is quite refreshing.
The portions are good and the dishes are reasonably priced. The service is decent. The ambience is good.
All you fish loving mumbaikars if you are in pune and craving for fish. Give this place a try and trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I needed to write another review because I already given a not-so-good review about this place, and would want to re-frame my perspective.
Went to this place after a long time (almost 1.5 years) only hoping for a better food experience in this locality and highly hoped to indulge in seafood this Sunday afternoon.
We chose this place for friends meet (that too after a long time) and out of three people we two were Bengali and Konkani (repercussions are that fish was on our mind). We initially sat inside in the first floor, but we were moved to a cabin few minutes later. As I said we met after a long time we had a lot of catching up to do and that resulted in continuous chattering (loud voice maybe!). Sensing the discomfort of other customers the captain gave us a place where we could chat without disturbing anyone. And at the same time some confinement to our private talks!
We ordered * Surmai Rawa fry and * Mushroom Chilly in starters. The Surmai Rawa fry was deep-fried but interestingly wasn’t oily at all and what was more important was the fish was quite fresh. The serving came quite decent in quantity. (apprx 10)
Well veggie friends don’t feel that lucky in this kind of places (or so we NV lovers tend to believe), we happened to order the Mushroom Chilly, which to our delight came as a lot of Mushrooms and less of chilly (some place I had the opportunities of getting paneer/chicken/mushroom way lesser than the proportions of chilly), and they tasted aptly fried and spiced.
And post Tareef I wanted to go light on my diet for this Sunday afternoon and the, so I stopped myself from indulging into more. And main reason being the portions of the dishes are big even after 3 people sharing the same dish.
In main course we happened to order * Veg Biryani, quite decent in taste as well as quantity.
From the last many frequent visits before 1.5 years and the one lunch yesterday was quite different. They seemed less snobbish, friendlier than before, upsurge in food quality and quantity was worth the try. Would recommend and next time visiting for seafood starters delight only and would want to write my 3rd review may be :)

Well it surely takes an advantage of serving good food and a nice ambiance in this locality by having an absurd price. However the food is good and their sea food dishes are nicely cooked "sometimes". If you are staying in this locality then you must try this place. Not recommended to especially travel to burn a hole in your pocket to eat just decent food. Can be a good place for family get together. Not a friend and gang place. Nothing's extraordinarily special, fish and crabs can be tried.

When a chef I highly respect recommended that I try Nisarg for its awesome seafood, I couldn't not try it now could I? We had a couple of our close friends from Bangalore visiting us over the weekend and since they love spicy seafood we decided to try Nisarg.
Situated just off Karve Road, for us, this was quite a trudge but the foodies in us braved the drive and arrived there for lunch on Saturday afternoon.
They offer valet parking which can be quite a handy thing as parking can be quite an issue in this area.
Ambiance:
They have a crab pool/hut at the entrance which lies dry and empty. I was worried they'd stopped serving the very thing we'd taken this drive for but as you climb the front steps to the entrance, you see that they have a big fish tank with a few lobsters and crabs in there.
The interiors say nothing about the cuisine as it's basically regular comfortable upholstered seating but the dead giveaway is the decidedly fishy smell this place emanates from as far away as the gate and the huge fish tanks that are strategically placed around the restaurant that are home to very large and thankfully, pet fish.
This is a two level restaurant and we were ushered to the upper section.
The place was practically full and we could see by the ease at which people were ordering and the staff was responding, this place has loads of repeat clientele. So far so good we thought. The service is attentive and prompt.
The menu is very very extensive but this was essentially described as a seafood restaurant to me so we decided to just focus on the separate seafood menu. The very knowledgeable and clearly old staff helped us with our choices.
At the outset let me tell you, their starters outshine their main courses and their portion sizes are more than very generous.
They serve a couple of portions of garlic sev, peanuts, onion rings and chutney whilst you're waiting for the food.
For starters, we ordered:
1. Solkadhi @ Rs. 45/- : Excellent! You get a huge glassful and it is very well balanced in flavour and consistency. One can taste how gently the flavours of kokum, coconut milk, garlic and other spices have married and the best part is it's not too thick therefore not heavy! Perfect starter for a heavy meal to follow.
2. Crab Chilli Millli @ Rs. 500/- : This is a shelled crab starter and was excellent in taste however the overpowering masala did outshine the star of the dish, the crab. I could have been eating any seafood if I closed my eyes but we knew we were eating crab only because we found several small pieces of shells whilst eating. These are actually a choking hazard! De-shelling crab can be a tedious task and often risky as the smaller pieces of shell or cartilage almost always slip in. That is why most seafood restaurants serve crab cracked, but with the shell.
The flavour of the masala was somehow Chinese tasting but with loads of Indian influence. Different from others I have tasted and definitely recommended despite the crunchy shells.
3. Prawns Ultapulta @ Rs. 395/- : We ordered the medium sized prawns as we feel they have far more flavour than king prawns. It's a personal choice. This was the best starter, taste wise but let me warn you as the server warned us - it is super spicy! We ordered this nonetheless and it lived up to it's reputation. But the spice was not from red chilies. It had a fabulous blend of various spices and black pepper was clearly the star spice. There were well cooked onion rings in the masala and they were so aptly put in the dish because the sweetness of the onions gave our tongues the much needed respite from the peppery burn. The prawns were superbly cooked and even though I couldn't eat more than one prawn due to the spice level, this dish was wiped clean in a matter of minutes.
4. Tawa Pomfret @ Rs. 395/- : Deboned chunks of superbly cooked pomfret in a tangy mildly spicy thick sauce. Very flavourful although for me and my friend, the skin on the pomfret put us off. However, we cannot fault the management as we hadn't asked them to skin the fish.
We had completely underestimated the portion sizes and spice levels and had already ordered our main courses so despite being ridiculously full, we asked for our main courses to be served. We had ordered:
1. Crab Maratha @ Rs. 400/- : One gets a choice of having this with or without the shell but my friend loves to crack the shells and fish out the meat so we ordered it with shell. The shell-less version is 100 rupees dearer.
We were very disappointed with this dish. The gravy was clearly not given enough cooking time because the flavours had not developed and one could taste the rawness of the masala. The crab was a small sized one and basically halved. We were four people on the table and the thought of now having to further halve the crab was daunting so we literally tried the gravy and had it parcelled. I decided I'd take it home, remove the crab and let the gravy simmer for a while. I did just that and it tasted waaay better.
2. Prawn Konkani Red Gravy @ Rs. 425/- : Again, same problem, infact this gravy was worse as one could taste raw chilli powder. I didn't think I could salvage it but I did once I brought it home. Pity really as the flavour, once developed was pretty good!
3. Chicken Multani (half) @ Rs. 340/- : When we saw the portion, we were really grateful that the server had suggested that we order half a portion. Trust me, the portion was huge! It looked so good and the flavour was outstanding. It tasted very Mughlai really and almost meaty... Not spicy at all but such a good texture and the balance of the sweetness of the onion gravy to the various spices was pure magic. This oddly enough, in a seafood restaurant, was the best main course.
4. Steamed Rice: Again, HUGE portion. They offer half versions too but we thought we'd need at least 1.5 portion for the four of us. The server himself came and told us that one portion would be sufficient and he was right! Infact, we barely touched the rice we were just so full!
They serve you a very different tasting sweet saunf at the end of the meal and it is desperately needed to digest both the spice and the heavy food you've just consumed.
Would I go back to Nisarg? Well, yes because Poona doesn't really have a good stand alone seafood restaurant of this standard. They also have a decent bar.
Have I had better coastal seafood elsewhere? Yes! For sure and for far less - price wise. One pays extra for the comfortable seating and air conditioning at Nisarg. For far cheaper rates but far less comfortable seating and ambiance you'd get much better seafood elsewhere.
An excellent place for sea food... The preparation is very good .. Service is very nice .. They suggest u if u are ever confused as to what to eat .. Have been here atleast 15-20 times now ...

Actually I am not the right person to write the review for this restaurant as this restaurant is famous for Sea food which I don't eat.
But considering the feedback from my friends looks like they love the sea food.

For seafood lovers this is the place to visit in Pune. A fantastic variety of fish dishes well prepared, great taste good atmosphere. I can't wait to go back! Try their salt and pepper squid rings and butter crab.
As for price, people will say it is relatively costly but I wouldn't go that far. It is fish which tends to be slightly more expensive anyway and I think for what you get, you cannot beat it.
Honestly, if I could have breakfast, lunch and dinner here, I would!

Nisarga is one of the any-day visit restaurants in Pune; especially if you are a sea-food fan. Must for people who like eating CRABS, LOBSTER & PRAWNS.

Nisarg is a paradise for a sea food lovers. When here tandoor pomfret and crab tava is a must have. In chicken, tandoor and butter chicken is also good but not the best. A spicy beverage called sol-kadhi is very good and a must have.The rates are also fine for good quality sea food.

I only have prawns preparations when I visit this place, but other dishes are excellent too. Must-try dishes include prawns biryani and butter garlic prawns. Just can't get enough of them. Service isn't bad but not good either. Ambiance is decent enough. Pricing could've been a bit (little) low.

I have been visiting this place atleast for past 8 years * min. once in a quarter and have never come across any complaints !!!! isn't that enough to rate it 4.
I love the tava/rava fry and prawns koliwada .... they can also treat you to lip smacking butter garlic or golden fried prawns ..... the bar is well equipped ... Staff is courteous.. Ambience is good... approachability is good and they do offer valet parking....
They make extraordinary Spinach Manchurian .... a MUST TRY .... Also what i love about this place is that they would keep experimenting with various receipes and take genuine feedback from clients .....

I have been to this place a few times with my friends and family who are big time sea food fans.
They have crab and seafood festivals every once in a while. I am not fond of the ambiance and it is certainly not a dining experience kind of place. You just go here to eat your fish.
I would recommend their fried bombay duck, rava fried surmai, chicken biryani, mushroom tikka and butter pepper crab.
It is a bit overpriced for the quantity they serve. The rice portions though are big enough for 4 people.
There is nothing to talk about the service. The staff always looks bored and tired. The atmosphere is not very friendly and cheerful.
I like places that have some happy energy. Most of the stewards have no right knowledge about the fish they are serving and they'll give you some random suggestions.
Overall, its a nice place for seafood lovers but its too pricey!
The seafood mecca of Pune.This place boasts the best variety of seafood dishes.From marathi tadka to western preparations,you will get it all in here.Situated near Mhatre Pul,this place is little on a costlier side.Their Surmai/bombil Rawa Fry and Butter Garlic Prawns are must haves.Dont ask me about their main course,because we rarely reach there.Too much variety in starters and believe me you will order some of the dishes twice.

Had recently gone for a photoshopt of konkan food to this place and my GOD were we surprised with the array of dishes they set out for us. The shrimp and fish were finger licking good. Really great taste. But the best ting to try out is the prawn chutney which they have. It is simple beyond this world.

A very good sea-food speciality restaurant. Located near Nal Stop, this place is always full and people are waiting outside although it is a pretty big place. Both outdoor as well as indoor seating available.

The USP of this place is the sea-food. Any and every food item in this section is good. The chicken items are equally delicious, especially the starters.
It's a bit over-priced I feel considering the small quantity, but the taste makes up for it. But do carry extra cash because 1000 bucks is not enough for two.

Best place in Pune for a scrumptious sea food experience. Their crab preparations are impressive. They always have the freshest of fresh sea produce.
Good for seafood. Pretty costly though. For two people it's Rs. 700 to Rs. 800.

Hospitality of Nisarg is highly professional and caring so will rate it as 4 points.

Nisarg is so awesome that its waiting queue is head aching so fingers crossed if you can get place in half an hour, also its price range is much higher than rest so not good for frequent visits.

After a long discussion on which restaurant to have dinner at, celebrating the birthdays' of two of my cousins, we decided on 'Nisarga' (Kothrud, Pune). 'Nisarga' is a seafood lovers delight, and rules out the misconception of Pune not being a place to have seafood. Well, the times have definitely changed and one can always rely on this particular restaurant to dish up the freshest of the treasures from the sea. 'Nisarga' also provides valet-parking facility which is a huge relief, because of it being situated on a busy street.
A two- leveled restaurant, with a beautiful interior, told us that 'We definitely are in for some great time'. The manager quickly led us to our table and it was a good thing that we had booked a table in the afternoon, because there were people who entered only a few minutes later who had to either wait for a long time or just go find some place else.
The waiters were all very friendly and the service was great. Most of us started the order with a round of mocktails. I first went in for 'Shelby Time', a concoction of - Fresh Orange Juice, Sprite and Grape Juice, topped with a slice of Orange and a Cherry. The second one I ordered for, is an all time favourite - The very famous 'Pina Colada', a blend of Fresh Pineapple Juice, Coconut Milk, Sugar and oodles of Vanilla Ice Cream. Bliss.
Also, something I forgot to mention in the introduction, 'Nisarga' being a seafood specialty, caters to all types of food with the same amount of love combined with the right technique. For starters we ordered platters of
Chicken Hariyali Kebabs and Chicken Banjara Kebab. The chicken was cooked to perfection with the perfect amount of spices. The Salad and The Pudina-Dhaniya chutney that accompanied it was tasty too. The Tandoori Pomfret and the Prawns Koliwada could make anybody go crazy!
For the Main we decided upon Murg Multani, as we wanted something that wasn't too spicy, nor sweet, boneless and their waiter suggested us this dish(And it turned out to be so), with Butter Naans for the some of us non seafood lovers, and Surmai in Malwani Style Gravy with some Chapatis. As the saying- "Saving The Best For The Last" goes, the last on thing to arrive at the table was The Prawn Biryani. It was the loveliest thing ever and if you visit this place it is an absolute must-have. It was spicy, but not as much as it would burn your mouth (just as a Biryani should be), had a coconut oil touch to it, with the perfectly sized and cooked succulent prawns mixed in with some freshly grated coconut, which made justice to it being a coastal dish.
Was a lovely experience- The Food and The company. And Yes, the food is kind of expensive, but as you start biting into it, it wont bother you much. Will definitely give it another visit.
P.S : As we had gone their to celebrate two of my cousins' birthdays, aged 13 and 17, we asked them (Mind you, 'just asked them') if they have the 'Happy Birthday' song in their collection as we wanted to surprise them and had sent them both away from the table. They, without asking us played the entire two minute song meant for those two little kids, who were not even present to listen to it. everybody, even at the neighbouring tables started looking here and there because all everybody could hear was the song, but nobody clapping, nor a cake (as it was supposed to arrive after the dinner). Doesn't matter much, I know. But just thought of sharing it.
The place we head to when we want to gorge on sea food..we had one such gluttonous get together here..We kind of satiated ourselves with all our favorites..right from Chatpata tandoori pomfret,crabs and lobster.
Each one tasted just perfect. I specially love their prawn biriyani..Its an absolute delight.
The staff is very courteous,friendly and gladly suggest you what to try..we had an incident on our first visit when the biriyani smelled of coconut oil (due to the konkan influence as they explained). But as we did not like the preparation they did get us a fresh preparation according to our liking and hence started my love for thei prawn biriyani :)
So make sure to let them know if u want to skip the coconut part as most of their gravies have the flavor.
So the bottom line of all is a must must try place if u love your fish :)
Fabulous seafood...pomfret tandoori...outta dis world...never before hav i had such succulent,juicy,tender n flavoursome pomfret...kudos to d chef for dis marvel...n quite a decently sized fish too. Prawns koliwada was nice too though i wouldnt mind a more koliwada twist to d prawns...Mutton biryani was yummy too...a differently spiced biryani wid a hint of coconut in d masala which gave it a distinct taste. Ambience is gud...spacious,well lit...a lil heavy on d pocket but worth every rupee. Dont think twice abt visiting Nisarg...ul njoi it

I had heard about Nisard from a few of my friends but did not have any opportunity to go there as it is quite out of the way for me. Then one fine day I had a party invite to attend and I was glad to accept.
The ambience and decor was quite nice for a gathering. I would not suggest a romantic dinner here. Friends and family gathering will be ideal. I would suggest prior reservation before going or else you may have to wait. "Nisarg" is a quite busy place even on weekdays.
We had ordered prawns, a few different fried fishes in different preparations and ofcourse, crabs. I have to say the crab was as good as one expect. That is definitely the plus-point for this joint. Fried fishes were average and the prawns were not satisfactory. Other dishes were standard. Their wine selection goes well with the food. Overall experience was nice.
Would I go back? Yes, whenever I get the chance I will go back to taste their crabs.
A nice place to be, although when somebody charges you 55 bucks for a plain nan you know that it is hurting your pocket atleast not like copper chimney where you are charged 85 bucks for a plain non buttered nan.
I guess its once place you can surely visit when you are with your family a pretty good experience of the whole place.

Nisarg is one of the best place in town for sea food lovers. You have a wide variety of sea-food available here. Full fried fish (esp Surmai) is my favorite. Even some pretty good cocktails are served here. They have a wide variety of drinks on the bar.
Ambiance in the inside sitting area is decent and cozy. Thought they serve great food here, but prices are also too high. You also have restaurants like Kalinga near by which are even good in sea food and have lower prices.
Service here is average, service you get is not worth the cost they charge you.
I am rating this place 4 only for the tasty food.
This place has a looong waiting line, so I prefer reserving the table beforehand. Nisarg is specially known for it's crab festival. Many crab delicacies are available during the fest. The squids provided here are fab. All sea food dishes are quite special here.
We went for Team lunch and found place is good for Non-Veg food, catering to the Konkani / Malwani cuisine. The ambiance is good and staffs are very helpful. We like starter Chicken Malai Kabab and prawns Kolivada. Main course are ok but not so grate as mentioned a lot by other review. Overall a good place to go.

Good for sea food lovers but bit expensive.
Spicy, fresh out of the water and swanky, Nisarg is worth the drive when it comes to seafood. Crab Eaters are given a special apron so that they can get messy with the tandoori crab and eat their heart out. The staff is very helpful and pays heed to every requirement.
One of my favourite place for seafood..i would recommend their boneless crab curry along with neer dosa is a must try...apart from that their diff. variety of fish fry like bombil or mandeli is too gud....crab tandoor and fish tikkas are also appetising....

Nisarg is one of the finer restaurants in Pune, catering to the Konkani / Malwani cuisine....Being introduced to this place, while I was visiting my cousin , then stationed in Pune, have now been a regular here, every time i visit Pune.
Despite spread over 2 levels with an additional outdoor seating, weekenights does see a large out turn of patronage to this place.Hence reservations are necessary.
They have interesting food festivals, which do rounds, like crab and wine, when i visited it.The waiting guests were served a glass of complimentary wine, which made the wait even more worthwhile.
Personal recommendation -
1) prawns Kolivada - spicy fried prawns in red batter is a great appetiser to go along with your drink.
2) Fried Surmai - Thin sliced fillet of Surmai ( Sear Fish ) with spicy marinade and fried to brown perfection.
3)Sol kadi - the coconut extract is fresh and thick with fresk essence of Kokum.
4) Pomfret Maratha curry - Fillets of pomfret cooked in a tangy brown gravy is personal recommendation.
5) Bombil fry
6)Crab masala - do check with the staff for the price of catch before you order.
A meal for 2 should cost about 1100/-

NISARGA housed at NALSTOP in Pune, is an AUTHENTIC food experience destination. Location is very convenient very much in the city still very calm where you can feel relaxed . Bringing in a lively concept of CHOOSE your FISH by yourself, has setup very own identical taste in the restaurant sector . I assure you about the freshness of fish and crabs, n it results in great tasting dishes ill recommend CRAB MARATHA, CRAB TANDOOR, POMFRET TANDOOR, AND PRAWNS BIRYANI. one more Delicious dish which is OFF THE MENU is JALWACHI CHATNI its very tasty sort of a pickle rarely available. All staff is very polite and know their dishes very well . Soups are ok. Seafood soup or crab soup is nice.
Malwani food is very nice north Indian is also gud ill not recommend oriental. they have 2 ,3 types of menu card so ask waiter to give all menu cards. otherwise ull miss something. theres a dish called RAJKUMAR SANTOSHi must try
The restaurant cum bar can space around 150 people as well as provides VALET, take away and reservation services for the convenience of the customers. Ambiance is ok not very fancy ,decorated with various fish tanks as sea food is the theme. You can also book for table for 20 to 25 people . The average expense at the restaurant is in between Rs. 500 to 800 for two. For enjoying the meal, one can head to the restaurant throughout the week from 12 PM to 11:30 PM. Payments here can be made both in cash or through credit cards.

The food at Nisarg is outstanding.The place offers a wonderful ambience, one is surrounded by aquariums(justifies the seafood theme of their dishes).The staff is good , well groomed and friendly and bear good knowledge of their dishes. Although this place is widely known for its seafood, I found the chicken starters quite succulent and yummy! All words of praise for the chicken resmi kebab.I also tried the their chicken biriyani. The food is good and the quantity is generous.The sea food soup bears a unique flavour .But I felt that the price of the sea food and the liquor were on the steeper side.But given the quantity and the quality of their offerings, I will sure give this restuarant a thumbs up.

I couldn't really place Nisarg and seafood in the same frame when I first heard about this place. So when I decided to visit the place to check out the "specialty". Behold all I could see were the aquariums, glass windows and a well-lit place with lots of natural light. I decided to try "Specialty" of the place and ended up wasting no time in ordering a Pomfret. Though I was tempted to try other things on the menu, I decided to stick with the seafood. With the first bite of Pomfret (which was with a generous squeeze of lemon), I was in.....well.....Nisarg! There are no qualms of trying out seafood here but I would suggest trying out Missi roti with Pomfret Curry (tastes out of this world). Along with it, go for sol kadhi, which is equally good. And at the end do not forget to have "Pan" from "Shaukin" - a pan ki dukaan in Nisarg. I won't say it's expensive, since the taste makes up for it and if you are a seafood lover, well this place should be on your checklist. The only problem is the parking constraint due to the location of the restaurant.

The Restaurant filled with aquariums create an ambiance of a sea food restaurant, well its true you can get some of the best seafood in Pune here. But wait a min I am a chicken fan so I tried chicken tandoori and chicken malai kebab and I can tell you they are awesome here. If you are confused what to order never ask the waiter for suggestions as they are very smart and will only suggest the highly priced dishes. Food is costly and may cost Rs 500/person on an average but the taste is worth it. Give it a shot.......

Food, ambience and Staff are sooo good and perfect. I'm so happy that the food is spicy and tasty the way we want exactly. Best recommendation for family and friends. But expensive but it's worth it.
Excellent selection of seafood. Service is courteous but hovers quite a lot. Ambience is unchanged from the 80s. When the food is this fresh and good though, I recommend closing eyes and enjoying.

I will highly recommend this restaurant for sea food lovers. The food quality, service and ambience is out of the mark. The only thing is you'll need to spend more here as the rates are higher than expectations for food and drinks. Parking space is limited.
The best place to have seafood in Pune. We had been planning to come to this restaurant for a while and finally we did and were not disappointed.
We tried the prawn fried starters and bombil to begin with followed by surmi tawa and crab curry with Amboli. All the food was amazing but the prawns and surmi were outstanding. The service is helpful, attentive without being too obtrusive. Must visit place..!!
Exclusive for Fish and Crab lovers, variety of crab and sooooo tasty. I m lovin it. Try Crab Tawa Chatpata. Hmmmm awesome taste but the thing they provide plier and fork to eat, I tried with that coz shell of crab too hard.
Nisarg is always the first choice if we plan for seafood dinner and specially for the Konkan style, for Manglorean cuisine its Rahul Restaurant. I would rarely go for any other seafood speciality restaurant in Pune. So that makes Nisarg our all time favourite place for konkani speciality cuisine.
Nisarg has been there for long long years and has never changed a bit in terms of the quality of food, freshness of the fish, quality of service and that welcoming nature of the entire staff, their valet team also does their job very well.
What you try here is the crab curry and amboli, Tandoori crab and crab soup for sure. Their Bombil rava fry is one top class dish that we never miss and i find it the best in Pune, have it with their super delicious red chutney!
My overall experience with Nisarg has always been great and i am sure it will be forever owing to their consistency of service. Highly recomended for seafood lovers for the Konkan Maharashtrian style!

Good display of sea food. A tad on the expensive side, but the taste is worth it. The ambience is great. Service is excellent.
Dont miss out on the live crab box outside, they let you pose holding a live (tied up) crab.
Four of us visited here last week for lunch. You are greeted by huge crab and lobster stone imprints on the door. Menu is huge so lot of options to chose from. We tried promfret with two flavours (ultapulta was one of them), tandoori prawns were good so was mutton keema.
Overall ambience was fine and food was good. But little overpriced for the place and taste.
The taste of sea food is great at Nisarg . I loved eating king prawns , crab ghee roast and pomfret. I would like to suggest only one thing to have an option of steamed rice 'bhakari' along with amboli. It's costly dish wise but worthy !

The food was great. We tried some starters fish, prawns, squid.
There are live crabs out of the restaurant for display.
There's valet parking for cars. And a bar as well for drinks.

Whenever there are any plans for a brunch on Sunday’s or any dining plans specially made up for the non-veg food.…. The love for Sea food always stays on top. Thats the 1st thing which comes into mind and no one would even refuse the thought.
I had seen this place from outside a lot of times and always though that the place looks weird and shady from the outside. Yet, I planned up and Went to this amazing place on a Sunday afternoon after being insisted on trying this one from my special one 💜.
We both went here to try out their special sea food… and as soon as we saw the entrance … there was this huge crab model hanging down the roof which looked really very attractive as they had love crabs over displays for their customers so one can enjoy the fresh crabs. 😍 After entering this restaurant , the ambience from the inside is nothing compared to the outside look of the restaurant. The place is nothing less than a 5 star hotel , i can assure . They do serve liquor in there, specially wine… they have a in-house sophisticated BAR. They have such a wonderful display of the fresh fish cut down into pieces kept over ICE … this way people can easily trust that their dish is fresh from the sea. They 2 floor for the seating area - which includes a ground floor seating area and an upper seating area as well. We chose the upper seating area where again there was this compartment for couples where 2 tables were adjusted in … so that couples could spend their own beloved time.
We had ordered 2 starters - King Fish (Surmai) tandoor chatpata & Rawas tandoor Banjara .
Both the dishes were extremely good and delicious… the fish just melted in our mouth as soon as we took the bites . They had served us with some chutneys … pudina and another was a bit spicy with some herbs and garlic . Both the chutneys were amazing .
You can also go for SOL KADHI here , which is a quite famous dish from KONKAN area . The fishes tasted really yummm.
Its a must visit for those who seek fresh sea food dishes in pune… aa they cant travel every time near sea body to satisfy the cravings . This is the right place for you.

Undoubtedly testiest food. No other restaurant stand in comparison. Had Bombay duck koliwada which was really good and Surmai rava..which we did not like that much. Prawns biryani was out of the world. A must visit place. Only thing is its too costly so you enjoy more when somebody else is paying
