Very good

Great taste! Economical rates of the food is a great advantage for us. Low rates yet good taste! Only disadvantage is that no place to sit over here.

They served noodles in falooda and was not ready to accept that this is not correct recipe. South Indian food is good.

This place is situated near Deep Bungalow Chowk . It has variety of dishes in its menu . Cost is also decent as compared to other restaurants near that area . I went with my friends there and we all ordered veg thali . Believe me it was the best thali I ate in my life . It has 2 bowl of bhaji with butter roti and some papad and sweet . You won't regret eating this thali ...!

The restaurant is near the deep bungalow Chowk. The place has ample no of seating both inside as well as outdoor. I have had tasted their tea, veg thali, pav bhaji, uttapam. All tasted fine. The thali consisted of 2 sabji, dal, raita, 1 sweet dish, 2 tandoori butter roti and a bowl of rice. I visit this place almost daily due to the good quality of food they provide and also because it's near to my office. Service is very and efficient.
Overall
Food - 3.5/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Service - 4/5
Sameer
Reliable and reasonably priced restaurant in Model Colony for cuisines such as south Indian, punjabi, Chinese etc. I particularly like their special thali, medu wada and dahi wada. Service is also good.

Charu's veg restaurant is a pocket friendly restaurant with a diverse menu.

Now for the review

The food- One of my favourite dishes on the menu is their special thali, the thali is wholesome and perfect for a fulfilling meal.

A few days ago we had eaten veg makhanwala there but to much of my chagrin the vegetable smelled of stale milk, we put this across to the staff but they gave an explanation saying that as there's milk and cream in the vegetable it smells like that, we had once ordered a paneer makhanwala from there as well but it didn't smell like that, so that was quite strange.

The ambience- It's a family restaurant, with seating arrangements outside, inside and an AC seating upstairs.

The staff- The service is prompt and the staff is quick to answer your queries.

#No offence.l!! Ordered a fruit salad today which tasted weird. I told the waiter about it and even offered to pay for it. But the owner got offended. And he intendedly told the waiters to have the leftover saying "Acha hai kha lo". And when i paid the bill he returned the amount for fruit salad saying" humko koi zaroorat nahi hai". Such impolite behavior was not expected from charu's.

Good food and pocket friendly!
Starters, Chinese and South Indian food is superb (Chinese Platter, Paneer Tikka and Rava Dosa a must try)
Overall a decent pure vegetarian family restaurant.

Since the day I came to dine in here at Chaaru's, I have been enjoying decent, affordable and tasty North Indian food from here, more than thrice now. Its a bit far from where I reside, but when ever I pitch in the idea of dining here, my friends all agree to it willingly. After a walk of about 15-20 minutes, we reach this place, all famished and ready to stuff ourselves up without drilling a hole in our wallets.

Its generally crowded, especially at peak dinner and lunch hours, and you'd be lucky if you get to sit within minute of your arrival. The over all theme of this casual restaurant is North Indian, South Indian and a few snacks and fast food here and there. Just like any other good restaurant in your locality. This is the kind of place where you would bring your family when your mom is too bored to cook, or when you want to eat on some lazy sunday afternoon. The to the go place which, you know, never disappoints!

Everytime we come here, it has to be North Indian. We order a couple of sabjis, butter roti and then enjoy this full course proper meal. I, in particular, loved the MALAI KOFTA here. Each aspect about this dish was just up to the point. The sweet aroma it sends in the air, its pretty presentation and the best part of all, its yummy, creamy taste! People usually argue that they won't have a sabji which tastes sweet, but when they feast themselves on this, 'thank you' is all they can apologize with.

It has been quite a while I haven't had a meal here, and while writing this review, I am kind of salivating with the thought of dining here someday soon!

Happy Burping!!!

Quite decent place which serves the vegetarian food. They have common variety if veg food/dishes which is easily available at any vegetarian restaurant the taste is good and the Thali they provide includes good variety of food.
- 3/5 (Ambiance and taste)

Nice place to have a vegetarian food !! Especially the 'Special thali' is worth a try. The taste and hygiene us good too. It was a good experience !!

Well I used to visit this restaurant when I was a kid.
Earlier the location was different and now it’s different.
The location has indeed changed but the taste hasn’t. I still remember the taste of pav bhaji that I used to have when I was a kid. I had a chance to taste the pav bhaji last week and I must say that the taste remains the same.
The food quality’s good.
Parking is a major problem. I’m not sure whether they have a valet. Overall a good place to visit with your family.

I've ordered from this restaurant 2 times. The Pulao was too spicy, the pizza not great, Pav Bhaji ok. I had been here personally some years back, and was ok then. So it must be packaging and preparation for online deliveries that goes wrong. Anyway, not ordering from here again.

A simple & humble place you'd plan to remind you of the good old days. College crowd and a perfect warmth matching your middle class appetite...

Paneer Kadhai, Fresh Limewater with salt and a masala papad with tomato, onion and sev overload totally was a delightful and satisfying meal for us..

Not an everyday day place, but if you wish for change without an extra dent on your pocket Charu's should be definitely your game..///

Hotel Charu

I had a quick visit over here for lunch. As I was not too hungry I opted for regular Masala Dosa [Rs 60]. The size of dosa was really good and better than what I have seen in most of the restaurant, it was thin and slightly crispy, good in taste, the potato sabji which was served with it was also nice. The Sambhar and coconut chutney served with it didn’t impress me and was slight watery. The red chutney which was served along with it was superb in taste.

Overall: Service was quick and staff was polite. I shared the feedback with the waiter and he accepted it and promised to make necessary changes. I was going to rate this place 3 star for my over all experience but would definitely rate 3.5 only because of the waited and good service.

Location: Deep Bunglow Chowk, Model Colony, Pune

Always a great feeling to go to this restaurant, The staff is really nice and friendly. Tried Paneer Tikka masala, Veg Hyderabadi and Dal fry, The food was delicious, especially the Paneer. Barely decent place. Price is very affordable and good ambience too.

Today I have visited to charu's for breakfast
I ordered for masala dosa and cappuccino
Masala dosa was good 😊😊😊😊
Cappuccino can be more good 😊😊😊
Service was fast😊😊😊😊😊

A very neat, clean and a decent place to have your afternoon lunch or evening snack if you are anywhere near Model Colony. Pocket friendly and good taste.
Had their Masala Dosa and Puri Bhaji during my recent visit and was quite happy with what was served.

Puri's were less oily and good in taste. Though the Dosa had gone soggy by the time it arrived, it was still good in taste.

The Alu bhaji for Dosa and Puri tasted different which was a winner for me..

Will definately visit again to try
Shalaka Kadam
Hotel food is nice its veg restro ..here they served various variety of food i like all chinese dishes here and there palak and dal khichadi is good in taste.food is good here.not that costly.please try here mango mastani i ve tried in summer it was fab.bit costly but worth it
Vaidehi
Good place for a quick bite with a good company. Do not try a falooda here. Otherwise food is good and it is always crowded...... Service is OK..
Amar Devni
That's my regular place to dine or start a day with ample of good south Indian breakfast options to have, it is run by udupi management so right from owner to bearer everyone is polite and always happy to serve you with a smile :)
Sujata Thaker
Okayish type of place, nothing great but not too bad either!! It has a really vast menu and it's services run from breakfast, lunch to dinner with snacks in between as well as juices, shakes etc. Service is swift and efficiency is the key word. It's a complete vegetarian joint and location is excellent. I had my breakfast of steamed idlis here. It was ok. Served with sambar and two chutneys, one white and other red. Filter coffee was also ok.
Prabha Goswami
Ambiance is nice, food is fabulous. They have Ac and non AC rooms. The staff is really friendly and food is served on time. Prices are affordable and pocket friendly. I had paneer ki sabji which was flavour full and spicy. Overall taste, price and ambiance is to the point. I would recommend you guys to visit this restaurant for lunch.

Charu's is a go to place for cheap but nice food. Their veg thali is very tasty and value for money. Staff is also kind and will look after you throughout your time. Also their tawa pulav is tasty. Pocket friendly restaurant.
NilBis
Charu's is a go to place for office/college folks.

It is veg restaurant. Every dish is economical. Their graviesbare thick and tasty.

We had Thali for 150. It had two buttered tandoori roti, pea pulao, daal, paneer butter masala, dry aloo sabzi and raita.

The sabzi varies every day but preparation is good.

Service is very quick.

Just that their juices are a little expensive. But you can always try their coffee.

Thanks ❤️

Tasty food...
advisable to visit here once....
food 5/5
service 4/5

only parking problem but can't help it because no space there for vehicle parking...
Mayuri
I have been there like many times for dinner and lunch and for breakfast as well.... Its a very good veg restaurant in pune located In centre area... You will get very good food in an affordable price... Their paneer dishes are so tasty... You will never come unsatisfied... This place is value of money... their pulao like kasmiri pulao and green peas paneer pulao were so tasty... And gadbad ice cream was awesome... Ambience is okay that's why I am giving 4 stars... and their services were really quick... If you are hungry so much then you can go to this place to have super fast food in just minutes....😁😁I would suggest Everyone should go there to try once... Who is not that much fan of vegetarian food they shouldn't go because their mouth will not bear the taste of veg food and they will comment bad for it...😋😋😋😄😄😄

Charu is our favourite place when ever we plan something to order for our veg team lunch/Party. And the item is fixed only Biryani. I cant review about other items But their Biryani is indeed delicious. They have ample number of varities for Biryani. Taste wise biryani is very tasty. Cost compared to quantity and quality is moderate to high. Overall if you are biryani lover then give charu a try.

A decent hotel in the midst of a lot of shops in Model colony. The ambience resembles a cliché restaurant with a waterfall at the entrance and a few tables on the outside for those who like to sit among palm trees in an outdoor environment, and a few more tables indoors for those who are more reserved.
This hotel serves everything from snacks to a full lunch. Its the nearest restaurant from our office, so we often drop by here for lunch when we cannot spare a lot of time.
Decent food at an affordable price.
I like the Thali they serve here, it is sufficient for a person who's very hungry for lunch.
The buttermilk (masala chaas) is a treat!
Please don't try south indian breakfast here, the dosa is very dry and uttapa is not well cooked.
Sabudana vada is also not very appealing, khichdi would be a better choice.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The service is fast enough for a quick meal. (Upto 45 minutes for lunch)

Summary:
Ambience: 3
Service: 4
Food: 3
Overall: 3
Friendly polite staff, quick service at peak lunch hours and awesome taste at reasonable price attracted me the most ! Seating is a bit conjusted inside but mostly people go for the taste.

You should try this starter called 'Nest'. Staff will explain you better. Its a beautifully decorated combination of mixed pakodis and french fries on a cabbage leaf garnished with cheese. 😋 1 plate is enough for 4.
Coming to main course, butter naan and butter roti were soft and edible. Go for Charu's special sabzi (combination of mashed palak and carrot with great spices), alu dum punjabi and matar paneer.
Finish your experience with an ice-cream !

I did go back for south indian dishes and they were lip smacking ! The quantity and size of dosas was a lot at a very reasonable price. Loved Onion Rava Dosa the most.. very crispy and well cooked. 👍🏻
Also, you may try Veg Manchurian Dry as a starter.
Service is below average , and food quality is pathetic and unpredictable.
Had to return paneer Chilly the last time we ordered, as paneer was very chewy.
Have been goin to this place right from its start and old one before renovation .
Kiran Sharma
Being near my house it is always a go to place.
They serve homely food, no doubt the place is always crowded. Their amras is very yummy. Overall they are worth visiting.
Sourav Saha Roy
Been to this place once only as of now, and tbh we weren't disappointed. We had ordered their butter naan, rotis, Mushroom Maratha and Malai Kofta. The Malai Kofta tasted too good, with the perfect combination of sweet and sour. The mushroom item was good enough as well. Will defibitely improve upon this review, once I try out their other dishes as well.
Shipra Gupta
So, this is one of my friend's go to place. Its a nice small restro, serves good food, and is really inexpensive. We went for dinner and ordered masala kulcha, cheese paratha, butter naan, stuff paratha, jeera rice, Hara Bhara Kebab, Navratna Korma, daal tadka, some paneer dish which one? I don't exactly remember now and some other dishes as well.

Nothing great about the ambience or the place, its a simple, small veg restro which serves some good food. Considering we were 5 people and ordered so much the bill costed us around 1200. which is really good.
Aishwarya
Good place, good food! You'll love the North Indian food (eg. Garlic Naan, Paneer Dish, Mushroom) here. Chinese is above average. Quick service with friendly staff.
Anil Damai
lovely veg food worth for money and very good food quality and quick service and comfortable setting for family we had mushroom tawa Masala and naan along with paneer pulao quality of pulao need to improv rest was very good......
Shruti Kamath
I wish I could give a minus rating to this place!!
Ordered the food at around 12 p.m and even after constantly calling after 30 min, they were first not answering the call and later told that they are on the way.
But after 2 hrs they said that they do not deliver such a small order.
The worst experience I have ever faced!
Will never ever order from here, even if they give it for free!!
Harshal Bafna
Another Typical Udupi Restaurant!
Had ordered for Pizza, which was a Desi Style Pizza. The Paneer Chilli was good. South Indian food had to be good. Pav Bhaji was average. Nothing great wrt Pav Bhaji.
Service and Hospitality is OK. (Be aware of the manager in the AC section. He might not like if you order for Extra Shezwan Chutney which is not included with the Chinese Starters. Might Charge for it as well)
Ambience is average and nothing worth mentioning.
Anmol Shinde
Nice place to have vegetarian food.
All the stuff u can get over here.
I had veg thali and veg biryani recently over here.
Prices are very reasonable...
Devashree Gosavi
Very poor and worst service ever we had. since 1 hour we had wait for our order, still we did not get my order on time. even after waiting 1 hour, we have ordered only pav bhaji and punjabi bhaji
Pallavi Patil
Service is very poor and taste was also not good. They also dont know which order i have ordered. It takes 1 hr. for providing order for us.So, i dont like this resturant.
Vasudha Patil
I have visited this place 6-7 times...and it has never disappointed me. The food is always tasty, the quantity is also good and it's not very expensive. This time I had a Dal khichidi tadka that was yummm! This place is a must visit.
Hardik Virmani
Food is very good specially all paneer item . All starters are good. South indian food is also good. If you are punjabi then you definitely like foodhere . Chef is from uttarakahand.
Ankeet
Liked the place.
It’s veg. The quality and taste is really good. The thali is sufficient too. Price is also decent enough. Only thing you will have to manage parking. No dedicated area for parking.
Arjun Cheema
Go there for South Indian Breakfast & snacks. Their Uthappa is a must have any time of the day. Also good for normal North Indian food which is served fresh & in sufficiently large quantities.
Gaurav Rathi
One of the best choice for eating in Model colony is this hotel only. All south Indian is best. Quality and quantity is justifiable. Prefer thali. Also eat Dal khichadi. Poha is not in menu but can order in breakfast.
Siddharth Yadav
A good restaurant to have food near to prime area of SB Road, model colony ,symbiosis college etc.
I usually eat dalkhichadi at this place not much costly.paneer lahori I had today and liked it very much quality was too good gravy was tasty.overall I will give this restaurant3.* as ambiance is ok but is good and also not very costly.
Yogesh Jain
This place is at a good location. Best part is prompt service and lip smicking coffee at cheap rate.
Dessert was also very tasty. Not very much crowded so you can spend some good time there.
Kshitija Sagar
We ordered rotis, veg chilli milli and dal khichadi. its a good hotel option when you want something light on ur pocket. els its so so. nothing great. roti sabji was good. but dal khichdi was not up to the mark.means who put green moong in dal khichadi😑
Ronvijay Gohain
Was in gokhale nagar n dropped in to this place for a quick bite... this place isnt really too much to write about regarding its ambience but trust me thats not what we're looking for when u drop in for a quick bite.. simple, affordable good vegetarian food is what i have to say bout this place n d staff is very courteous n helpful... i thoroughly enjoyed my puri bhaaji n cup of tea in d rainy pune weather.. wouldnt mind another visit!
DEEPTI PUNDLÉ
Visited here many times before for snacks..

Latest visit today.. I had a simple Purī Bhājī..
Got it soon after placing the order.. I was happy to see the large, warm puffed up Purīs just as I wanted.. 😊 😊
Bhājī too was tasty.. Quantity of the Bhājī was a bit less comparatively but was given some extra Bhājī on request.. ☺☺

Prompt service.. Attentive staff..
Ambience is simple but well maintained..
A good option for meals in Model Colony..
Kunal Sindhu
This place is okay is you are hungry and willing to eat food in good environment...
It was good experience for me to be there....
And you can visit this if you were planning to go there.....
Mahesh Nilewad
Amazing, Good food, Breakfast is nice.Very convenient when u need food asap . Just to fill the zomato review column of 140 words I'm writing these extra lines, Again I say awesome.
Sanket Malpani
Its the best place to eat near my home..South Indian at this place is just great..we also had sandwich, pav bhaji, and thali..the food is good.!!
Bhanwar P Singh
Nothing bad or good about this place. Its very conventional mid-range eatery, specialised in typical restaurant food. I tried their thali + Butter milk ...it was just fine. Quantity is just apt!
Arpit Jain
Best pure veg restaurant of SHIVAJI NAGAR!
Especially for its paneer in all gravies and whole wheat roti!
Also try its Pav Bhaji and Dal khichdi with out of the world Kadi.. damn I'm already hungry :p
Sachi Lakhotia
Really quick service and the staff is attentive to what you need.
But the dosa they service was cold and sambhar as well.
Veg crispy, maysore masala was good .
A good place for budget dining.
Praval Santar
Not a good place to visit. Instead go to some good restaurant. Food is bad plus service is also bad. No quality in their food . I would recommend to avoid it.
Seshagiri Rao
They claim to be serving Jain food but when we went there, they said they don't serve it. It was very difficult for my mother, she end up eating Dosa and Pickle. Pathetic service
Dev
Very bad staff behaviour....ruined my day and mood.
Ordered something got something else.....

..............................................

This restaurant ideally reminds you of those old city restaurants that your parents would take you out for a meal on a Sunday afternoon. Back at a time when fine-dining and molecular gastronomy only existed on paper for us 90s kids. It's your typical "we-mean-business", no frills kind of place that dishes out your order faster than you can count to a minute. Their south indian breakfast/snack options are decent. The cheese chilly toast is pretty good. But what you really need to try here is the north indian meal options all with the naan, jeera rice, dal fry, paneer makhni, masala papad and a plate of dahi vada to clean up your pallette. That's the experience you should go for. Easy on the pockets and generous on the quantity, this place is capable of bringing back some of those childhood memories of your first "hotel" experience/s when going out for a meal was considered cool.
Dshubham94
Disgusting this place is, the waiter there suggest us for Paneer chatpata, it was pathetic there was no salt in it, had a very bad experience.
Amogh Bhishikar
Abysmal! Deplorable! Substandard! Pathetic! Disgraceful!......I can go on and on but I think I have conveyed my feelings about this place. Never ever in my life till now I have experienced a restaurant which prepares food in such an unappetizing way!! We ordered home delivery from this place just to try it out as it near to my place. When I called the place and asked if they will provide home delivery the person very rudely blurted out saying depends on how much by bill will come to. Common on, there is a polite way of saying home delivery on min order of xyz amount!! Anyway this was still the best of the experience I had. When the food arrived we felt we were under some kind of torture. We ordered paav bhaji, paneer tikka masala and plain dosa. Paav Bhajji was so disgusting that it didn't taste even close to paav bhaji that you get elsewhere. It was a slurry of some sort mixed with horrible spices. I had emphasized the paneer tikka masala to be made as less spicy as possible so that kids in the house could eat. But the veg was so so horribly spicy and hot and that none of us could eat it. The entie container was emptied in the bin. They even messed up the plain dosa! It was horribly chewy and oily....may be they fried their carpet or something.....All in all a horrid place with no apparent understanding of how food should taste like. No wonder it is cheap! But if you have ever so slight concerns about your health and body avoid this place.
Ranjeet Gaikwad
The Dalkhicadi was very good...but we were disappointed by Veg Kofta...it was just disgusting with not even a pinch of salt in it....otherwise the service was good.
Rohan Patil
Wanted coffee badly and hence settled for this place. One of the worst coffee to be tasted. It was so bland. Had to add more coffee powder to make it a little better.
Divyanshu Kumar Mishra
this place serves good amount of options for a mid-day meal!
Once eu enter this place, eu'll find ample seating space inside as well as outside.
Servers are nice and humble. They have an AC section as well inside the restro.

Food wise they serve all Pure veg delicacies, including veg and paneer varieties.

In our first visit, We ordered veg kadhai and rotis, and loved them. Veg kadhai was served hot so It was bit spicy and quite well prepared. Liked it.

In the second visit I ordered Misal Pav and dahi misal pav, they were served not the way I used to have at other places but loved the texture anyway.
Later once they realise I'm not fond of mixing dahi into the sample, they gave me a separate bowl of dahi so that I can eat happily and enjoy misal pav.
I liked their gesture and including both of the time, I can say they are good as per both parameters, food and service.

I ordered coffee too and it was good enough for a place like this.

Harshit Agrawal
One of the worst restaurant in Model Colony. Their North Indian food is a total disaster. Their South Indian foods are pocket friendly and average in taste. Mysore Masala Dosa & Paper Masala Dosa is a must try.

Overall a place with decent ambiance and good staff and a decent place for South-Indian delights. 😋
Ninad Pande
Ordered Paneer Masala on waiter's recommendation..Was unsatisfied wid the quality of the food..The food served was not hot as expected..Service provided was quite prompt..
Vinita Kumbhar
What better location than model colony?! This place reminds me of a typical hotel I used to dream about! 😂 They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. Visited today for breakfast. Had onion uttapa. Food is good but their coconut chutney is exceptionally well. Service is professional. What I loved is that this place is very very affordable!!

Ambience: 4.5/5
Food: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
VFM: 5/5

I had my lunch at charu many times .....during office party......good food according to price....nothing great....but u can hv ur lunch at this place
Taruun Vaiddya
Had gone for dinner with a group of friends. The service was pretty fast but the food was a BIG disappointment. A friend who had ordered Pav Bhaji was served stale pav. Another friend who had ordered a masala dosa observed that the Bhaji was smelly. The noodles were overly salted making it difficult to swallow. Don't know if we were just plain unlucky.
Namrata Saraf
Landline number missing-and mobile number is wrong
Please note-Charus Landline-020-68888008
Good Food
Quick Service

Really nice place thanks to them they re dis everything it's good I have coming here since my childhood really good. It is very awesome here the menu us also upgraded very nice interior's
Atikh Rashid
A good place to grab a light snack. I haven't tried a full meal here yet. But dosas are good. Interior is good, milieu is serene, staff is polite.
Nishita Aggarwal
charus in model colony is a simple all day vegetarian restaurant serving snaks like pav bhaji, south indian, parathas and basic north indian gravies and rotis.. it has a pleasant ambience with indoor and outdoor seating.. the service is fast and staff is polite, the prices are reasonable too.. the food is good.. iv had their idlis which are soft and nice, their pav bhaji is okay.. the aaloo paratha is good too.. overall a decent place with reasonable prices and fast service..
Rahul Kadam
The place looks very promising from outside, so we gave it a try.

We ordered Soup (since it was cold outside), it was OK. The main course was very good, especially Paneer Maratha. Must try.

Ambiance is OK.

Service needs a lot of improvement. Waiters and Manager do a lot of shouting in front of guests. They even started an argument besides our table.

Their service and shouting gives you an impression of a rookie restaurant. But the final product (food) was good, hence no complaints.
Tanaya
Hopped in here for a quick lunch & indeed the service was quick. Within 10 mins the manchow soup was served and then the food followed. They never kept us waiting or anyone else either. The food taste was good and also its quantity was appropriate. Pocket friendly too
Pratik Baheti
The place is very noisy and you best thing is you won't find much waiting in this restaurant even on weekends... Best recommended for veg marantha... Ambience is good but services are on the negative side
Chumki Bhowmick
I m not a vegetarian, I don't like veg food, but for those days I need to eat veg, I like Charu's.
It's decent veg that I can eat. Kadhi chawal is a must eat there. I like the dosas served there. And I discovered a veg dish I liked Malai methi mutter was nice.
Priyanka Agarwal
Xtra points for customer service.. D moment v sat, an uncle came n greeted us and asked wat wud v like to have.. Made sure v get our order on time.. V ordered pav bhaji n masala pav.. Both were tasty.. Wud like to try Oder dishes as wel..
Ambience is also nice.. Though the outdoor seating is not managed properly as the seats get wet due to rain n bcoz of d materials of the chairs, they cant soak it
Anand Malviya
This is one of the best restaurants in Model colony. Pure veg, yummy food. they also have a number of dishes in jain section too. seating area is big and houses lots of guests.
Sanjana Rao
Closest to where I reside, this place is kinda small and tidy, it offers a lot to eat.
I've had the Pav Bhaji here which was satisfying but not the best that I had tasted, could have been better.
But the Aloo Paratha which costs ₹40 is pretty great, the quantity and flavour is good, breaks the monotony of the plain aloo paratha usually served.
The Mysore dosa served with chutney and sambhar is also decent, it's great for the price it takes.
AMAN PANDEY
Great place to handout after office time. Food is awesome, I really like its south Indian food and Paneer Maratha. Service is ok , Ambience is fine but prefer seating outside.
Aditya Choubey
Today I was there for lunch had south indian dosa was so crunchy and coconut chutney and sambr.. all is good in taste, for pure veg it is a nice place, ambience is also good.
Food 4/5
Service 4/5
Ambiance 4/5
Shivam Parashari
When I started visiting the place, way back in 2013, it actually served good quality of food with a quick service. But I think they are mediating of more money making thing rather than good quality food and service. Yes, biryani served here is still wow !!

Pure veg restaurant. Better option for pure veg people and Jain people as you can alter the curry content by ordering that way and the waiter won't hesitate. This was the case happened when I was there with my friend once.

My favourite: Manchow soup

I'd come here twice a month if I would.

Rated 1.0 because i can't find lesser. This is a place where waiters gonna talk to you arrogantly, managers gonna respond you pathetically.i want to share my story here. I used to live in model colony so i was a frequent visitor of this place. Waiters there is so arrogant that when last time i was there they literally scolded customers.when you are in restaurant industry you should know how to handle customers. You bring workers from villages and you don't even train them how to talk properly. We live in a educated socialised society and your staff is so naive that after an argument they start using slangs. I really wish I could get a response from the other end or i can get to talk to your owner.

Once upon a time it served best Paneer starters in town! Taste has definitely been not the same anymore.. South Indian also good to go, as far as snacks are concerned. VFM and closer to my place hence quite a frequent customer! Being a pure veg restaurant, parents love it here too!

Pocket friendly.. Limited dishes are good..!! Naan never looks n feel like a naan, BT some paneer dishesh and Veg Biryanis are delicious. And good thing is, "They serves Jain Food Too...." ;)
Paridhi Pamecha
A joint with inexpensive and affordable prices..Good for days when you are low on budget.. Their Masala Buttermilk with refreshing mint is a must have specially during scorching weather.. Sweet Lassi is sweeter than the expected sweetness..Pav Bhaji is good..Apart from that in main course, we ordered Masala Bhindi with a little too much of Masaledar Gravy and less of Bhindi..Dal Fry was upto the mark..Their Dal Methi is also worth a try..They serve piping hot Rotis which is a plus plus..Staff is courteous, giving prompt service..

Pathetic service ... Give stale food and attitude towards customers is too bad.
The manager must know how to treat the customer.
The pipes leak from the sides onto the food.
CHEAP DECENT BUT DISGUSTING

So this place on surface is the perfect ,any time supper, family restaurant. What it beholds inside is the dark disgusting secret which will leave you unpleasantly surprised.
My order(onion rava Dada dosa) had first an insect and the replaced one had a cockroach. This isn't the first time anything like this is happening with this restaurant. Previous incidents had hair in chutney and and stale food.
The decorations and a very decent ambience gives a very comforting first impression. The latter part of actually eating the food here disproves the saying 'first impression is the last impression'.
You come out poorer, even when you consider the inexpensive food over here, because of the offset of the mood this restaurant leaves you with.
Never judge a book from its cover.
I am sure 'Charu' too is disappointed on having her name affiliated to such pretty looking but consistently degrading place.
Very good. Taste, price, ambience all are perfect.
Today at lunch time we were roaming nearby Model colony in search of veg restaurant. Ended up at Charu's restaurant.
First impression was colorful flowers all around and greenary.
They have sitting both inside n outside. We opted to sit outside as cool breeze were coming.
What I saw was flower bouquets and flower decorations on all the tables. Also they have so many flower plants all around.
After 5 minutes a waiter came to take our order. I asked him "Do you arrange these flowers everyday here?" With a smile he replied "Yes mam, everyday we do like this". Well, whatevee is the reason behind this but its simply beautiful :)
We had butter roties and Mushroom masala. Specially worth mention Mushroom masala. It was buttery, creamy yellow gravy with ample amount of big button mushrooms in it. Quantity wise it was great.
I am sure other items here should also be tasty. Definetly I will come back here soon to try out other delicacies.

My favourite place for breakfast in nearby places. Upma here is most delicious i had in Pune. South Indian dishes are yummy as well. To add on, tea here is made with pure milk and tastes good. Its very affordable, rates comparable with taparis.

A fair place for dine out with friends or family. The bhindi masala and the veg crispy tastes very good. The ambience and the service however is not that good. The sofas in the ground floor are a bit uncomfortable and they take long time to serve the food.

Once again it's proved veg restaurants are lesser in cost as comparable to non veg restaurants.
We just entered in to this restaurant because we didn't had another chance.
As I'm a non veg lover I just ordered a dal tadka, rice and roti.
But I would say its really good and very, very reasonable price as compared to its taste, ambience and delivery speed.
We were able to finish our dinner within 40 mins.
Insha'Allah sure I will go back to this restaurant once and will try to give proper review about their other dishes.

Its a relatively new place opened up in model colony.. Which is a huge respite for people who stay nearby. Its a big space, caters almost everything Indian, south Indian and Chinese.. But all true to shetty style.. Dosas are good and so is puri bhaji.. Everything else is just what you find everywhere.. Nice, cheap, with responsible and responsive staff.

Finally a family restaurant in model colony with nice quality, quantity and taste at reasonable rate....yummy food

Given the lack of good restaurants in Model Colony with decent budgets , Charu's came to as a god's gift for the student community staying around.
Being a pure veg joint it really cut's out its audience by almost a half. But provides a variety of Indian and Chinese choices for the veggie's.
The ambience is okay and the service can suck when it is crowded.
Food quality is good enough given the price and you will always leave this restaurant with your stomach's heavy and your wallet's remaining almost as heavy as it was when you entered.

A decent, fairly clean and relatively inexpensive place to dine at if the pangs of hunger should strike in and around Deep Bangla Chowk. Located right at the corner, they have a garden seating area as well as A/C and non-A/C indoors. The non-A/C gets too noisy with all the kitchen activities being audible. The A/C section is good enough, but a little lacking in space.

The food was lack-lustre, with none of the dishes really standing out. We decided to brave it out and try the Kashmiri Pulav, which was actually good, but too cold for any of the flavors to really come out. The veg kadhai and the rotis were okay.

Visit only if you are absolutely too hungry to wait a another minute, else there are plenty of options on F.C. Road just 10 minutes away.

May be its not as bad for a 2.0 rating, but i really felt like "blahhh!!!" after coming out of here. So its Zomato's rating-tagging nomenclature that made me give it 2. Else would have surely given a 2.5 :D

I was roaming that locality with a friend to find a place to 'sit & eat' breakfast. Asked few people & everybody mentioned "Charu's". And every time i heard them say the name, i was like "charoos??! What kinda name is that?" Hehe! Well, we crossed eatsome & few other mini stalls but my bladder was desperately yelling for a release. So we went looking for charoos....sorry! charu's hoping that if not the tate buds & tummy, atleast the bladders would thank me for landing there. Job done! And had a masala dosha with brilliant chatter with my entrepreneur friend.
Dosha was average, masala in it was average, chutney was unique in ways that i would prefer to avoid, sambar was abusive screams at the authentic sambaar. And the way my buddy was pushing kanda-poha down throat, it seemed equally abusive.
Its not that there is nothing good about this place. Hygiene was good, ambiance was nice (they also have a separate family section upstairs), service was lightening fast (dosha at at that speed?! My mom cant beat that timing even after being a 60year old experienced mallu cook :D) and tea was so better than expected. When the waiter appeared to ask for tea/coffee i asked my buddy if we should take chance or better try at roadside stall. Anyways, the expectations went so low by the food that their tea tasted supreme. And billing? 90 bucks for all that. Pretty decent for eating at such a chick joint.
I wouldnt mind going again if am stuck in that area & desperate to.......ahem! no, not that! I meant desperate to sit & chat calmly with a buddy! ;) :D

So we were really hungry and as this was the closest option, we decided to try it. There are three seating arrangements: outside (it was a bit windy that day so we skipped this), inside and upstairs. We chose a table inside and waited for them to get us the menu-card.

I did not get the reason for the slow service at first. We were not even served with water – the most basic thing any restaurant would do routinely – and we had to remind them about this. The manager/owner himself came with 2 glasses of water for us as either 1) they were short of attendants or 2) everyone was occupied elsewhere. The latter seemed hardly the criterion because only 2 or 3 tables were occupied inside. I happened to go upstairs for the washroom when I noticed the real reason for this – a big room full of foreigners having all sorts of attendants at their service! Okay, maybe I am exaggerating, but yes the A/C room was fully occupied and almost all the staff that I could see was over here, catering to their needs. I am not saying anything about this distinction, but atleast more people could be hired so we wouldn’t have to bear such inefficient service? This might be the one day it happened, although, foreigners kept pouring in and the managers ushered them upstairs like it was customary; so it might be a really popular place amongst them.

Coming to the food part, the club sandwich was satisfying - decorated with copius amounts of cheese - and a delicious veg patty was sandwiched between the toasted layers: the one thing which I liked about this place. We also had pav bhaji, which was awfully spicy (my tolerance level is pretty high), and made me wonder how this would be enjoyable for the people upstairs, or that they might have a special preparation which is tremendously less spicy and so to compensate that they’re adding more chilli powder for us which would be suitable for our taste-buds, according to them atleast. The service reached its peak point when the waiter came to ask if we wanted any extra pav, which we had already ordered, but it was the first time when anyone came to us without us calling for them beforehand.

Full points for presentation of the food – the sandwich looked pleasing and so did the pav-bhaji. Even if it was taking a long time to make and serve, they did not skip the decoration part of the food. This might impress some people or annoy others when all they want is just food to eat (my friend being in the latter category :D )

A group of ladies who were leaving experienced some billing problems, to sort that out more than 3 people were involved, so the workforce reduced temporarily, but was a blow nevertheless. It was a fun visit for us as we were enjoying sitting right next to the (nice and clean) kitchen, listening to the hustle and bustle. But I don’t think I will be coming here again, unless of course – they improve their service.

An average south indian place. It is one of those wanna be south indian restaurants that are found in every area of Pune. Though the sambar is good, the chutney is disappointing and the vada is very rubbery, a true deviation from south indian taste.

The reason it is a wanna be place is because it not just has south indian food, it also has north indian, pav bhaji and chat as well as chinese (made in the typical wanna be south indian way).

It is good if you want to have hot sambar and idly, etc.. Go try the south indian there, may be you will like it.
I will never try the pav bhaji or north indian or the chinese. I know for a fact it will be an oil overdosed, salty thing.

This family restaurant is one nice place to try out if you are searching something in or around Model colony.

We started with sweet corn soup which was too sweet with almost no taste. It had lumps of corn floor, wasn't mixed up properly. Too ordinary to begin with. Butter milk was good, fresh lime was nice and masala papad was Ok.

In main course, Veg Hyderabadi was just fine. It had standard gravy and tasted no gr8. Same story with Veg Bhuna. Standard gravy, ordinary taste.

Butter garlic naan were good. Not too much butter but taste of garlic was ample. Lachchha parantha was good too.

Helpers were ok. Place and sitting was a bit congested but considering the location, its perfectly fine.

One bad thing was that they dont accept credit card. So go with the sufficient cash.

Overall experience was just fine. Will go there to try again if I dont find anything new nearby.

Very nice restaurant, it was quite economical when it opened and the quantity was also good raised the price and decreased the quantity a few months later. The A.C is doesn't seem like working. The service is quick.

Indian food is decent. Got a shock when I was served Hong Kong noodles with cherries in it. Ambience is ok. Sitting outside when the weather is nice is fun. But where ever you sit, the place is cramped.
