I had ordered for veg fried rice, Gobi manchurian and chicken lollipop.

The veg fried rice was over all an average taste. Fried rice usually have bland taste and are not spicy but this was spicy. The taste was also not really great.

The Gobi manchurian had firstly no Gobi in it. It was again spicy as well as quite oily. The taste was also very average.

The only thing that was a little better than average was chicken lollipop. The taste was good and wasn’t even very oily not spicy. It was upto the mark.

Slow service here, a very ordinary cafe.. very less accompaniments along with chai, but at a good location (apollo chowk,Pune camp) .. NICE CHAI though :)

Cafe Apollo, located in the compound of old the single screen Apollo cinema.
Small but nice place serving some vfm food.
The desi Chinese is a must try.. definitely prefer this style of Chinese than the ones served in authentic Chinese restaurants.. they have perfected the method of giving a lovely desi flavour to the schezwan noodles, chicken lolipops, chicken chilly.. I enjoy these every time.
The chicken Kheema broon is another must have, just the right spiciness to this lovely dish and the hard crunchy broon goes perfectly with it ..
I always take some bun cheese omelette and bun maska packed for my colleagues at work as they love it and can't make it to these type of cafes..
Regular with their Zomato online orders as they pack it well hot and on time too.
Do try it.
Atharwa
Good old irani cafe serving quite an extensive menu.

Tried the bun maska and chai which was nice.
The bun omelette was how it should be, with sweet soft bun.
Chicken Kheema was classic.. Chicken chilly was a delight too! No complaints over the food..

Fast service, good guys..

Old ambience.. Not very family friendly..

Very Pocket friendly!

Worst place to eat, if there was a zero on the rating scale, Cafe Apollo would have bagged it, its zero in everything.
1. Tasteless food
2. Cats loitering around
3. Cheap but totally unhygienic
4. Unprofessional, doesnt serve u spoons to eat, u hv to ask for it!

Never gonna visit this place ever again.

Shubham Lonkar
This is the most pathetic place to be visited in Pune.
Although it is cheap but it serves food which is of worst quality. Also, the unhygienic surrounding with animals loitering around makes one really uncomfortable while eating.

Note:- 1."You can eat here at your own health risk"
2. Do not order Butter Chicken or any Chinese
dishes.

Old cafe with some pocket friendly good snacks and food. Small place. Happened to be in Rasta peth so dropped in. Will be doing home delivery more often.
We liked everything we ordered. Came quickly.

Food: 4.5/5
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 2/5
Value for money: 4.5/5

Must Try: Chicken Kheema Fry, Bun Omelette, Bunmaska chai and Chicken chilly.

Don't try: Hot coffee

good food, chinesse is really awesome

Pretty much an average place. The food is fine. No ambiance as such, however, this place is a relic of the olden times, i guess 50-60 years old.
The irani chai is refreshing and the mawa cake is decent as well, not the best one out there, but fairly qualifies as good. The bun omelette is nice. Samosas were crispy..
Chicken Kheema pao is delicious or kheema bread..The slice bread is a better option..
Unusual for an irani cafe to have chinese but the Chicken Chilly I had here is something else, one of the best I have had so far..

The service is quick and prompt and the price is pretty low, as with other Irani Cafes in general. The fat uncle(owner i guess) sitting on the counter is quite observant to the service.. Your individual bill may vary between Rs. 70 to 120. One small problem with this place is the location. Its tucked in the Apollo cinema compound, you cant miss it though, theres a big board facing the road..
Try it when in pune city area..

At times when I visit the pune city area or have a visit to KEM hospital and am hungry I drop in to Apollo.
Good old irani cafe serving traditional irani cafe items and also modern items like chinese..

The food is so reasonable yet such good taste it would leave you content without burning a hole in your pocket.
Cheese omelette and Bun omelette tops my thing always.
Next was irani chai, which is always refreshing and mawa cake which is pretty good too. Good bakery products.. Other items like kheema pao and biryani is also worth trying..

Tried the Chinese noodles and soup a couple of times and was really surprise.. Enjoyed the chowmein a lot!

Nothing great about the ambience.. The staff is friendly and helpful though..

With a good service, tasty food and not forgetting very pocket friendly (4.5*).. cafe apollo is the one to start ur day!

My go to option when I am in KEM hospital. The best option near the hospital in Rasta peth area for pocket friendly good food and its open all day.

What to try:

Kheema Pao- for me it's an absolute ritual to taste the kheema pao And the kheema pao- at Apollo does not disappoint. The spicy mince just melts in your mouth.

Bun Omellette- Quick option. Soft sweet bun with spicy omelette inside Must try.

Chinese: desi chinese taste.. but good portions.. Nice manchow soup..

Wash it all down with the infamous Irani milk chai and mawa cake!

Ambience is small, service is quick and friendly staff.
Recently Swiggy also started delivering from Apollo, superb!

It is a small place with few tables in Apollo theater complex. Tried their shawarma nothing great about it overall.
chicken shawarma pav just about edible.
Didn't enjoy the rolls.
Good only if u r looking for something cheap.

Timely delivery 5 /5( within 10 minutes)
Food ( chicken lollipop and schezwan noodles) 3/5 and 2/5
Chicken tasted not very nice. Kind of left an aftertaste. But delivery was extremely prompt.

Today I took Chicken Shwarma parcel from here...wanted to try shwarma from long time, today I got the chance. Actually I have never tasted shwarma before so I dont know whether it was an authentix or not but it tasted good thats what we all want right? Taste was good at affordable price of 100 rupess. That 0.5 rating is cut due to ambience, its not the typical hotel it has a classic risty look moreover it is like those typical chinese shops which we saw on roadside but wayuch cleaner than that.. so in short I would recommend it👍 have it sometimes!!

Ordered online through Zomato and found it total value for money. More orders will be flowing your way Apollo.

We tried the Chicken Chilly as starters. Was lip smacking!
Shawarma roll wasnt your typical shwarma but still had a unique spicy taste to it.
Had the best desi chinese ever with Chicken schezwan noodles.
Chicken kheema pao was hot and delicious.

Why didn't I find you earlier?

Go try it!

This is one of the best places for breakfast. Has been my favourite for several years right from my childhood. Bun maska, malai pav are amongst my favourite picks.

I have been visiting this place for many years now..This is a old Irani café right in the Apollo Cinema compound and just like any other Irani café this place's famous for brun/bun maska and chai..

Great breakfast place for egg items..cheese bhurji etc . The omelette is too oily for my liking..Some of their chicken dishes are a hit and a miss.. surprisingly they also serve chinese, which isn't bad. Infact I am craving it as Im writing this as it had a typical schezwan desi flavour to it.. in sweets have tried caramel custard which is good too..

You should come here for the kheema pav! It tastes great! specially with hot kerala paratha..

Next time im going to try the shwarma..heard a lot about it..

Highly recommended if craving cheap non-veg food in pune city area..

Situated in the core of Pune city not far from camp, cafe apollo or apollo canteen as many call it goes back years and is an extremely old establishment.
There is a huge variety from which you can choose. They have the contemporary irani cafe items,Indian and Chinese delicacies. Whatever you order, you can be assured that the quantity will be more than satisfactory. Few of my favorites: bun cheese omelette, kheema pav, kheema pulao, rotisserie chicken, chicken triple rice, chicken chilli and caramel custard. The food is amazing and plentiful.
Perhaps even better was their 'Chicken Shawarma' the red-spiced chicken was a surprise. I expected the typical plain roast. However the generous amount of chicken they stuff in was filling.. It was a bit dry though..If only it had it been a little juicy. Shwarma wrapped in Chapati and shwarma pao was a delight!
Not quite responsive but quick service, and the waiters know the menu well.

The joint is small but well arranged. Few tables & service is fast. Outer small stools is best and open air types..I visited in evening & tried bun muska chai after which we went for the shwarma..The bun was doused with maska and when eaten dipped in the chai it transported you to another world. I relished each bite. The Shwarma looked very tempting and I ordered it next.. They do make some really tasty shawarmas, what makes me keep going for more is the distinctive flavour of chicken..The Shawarma is enough to fill you up, the prices are lesser than usual outlets..Their chicken stuffing is amazing. Loved the difference with the Parotha shwarma and shawarma pao.. Now I know where to head if I'm not very hungry but need a nibble. For 30 bucks a shwarma pao..

The place is pocket friendly and total vfm..The feel is just the right kind of Irani cafe without it being too much. It really is a small old cafe tucked in the Pune city Rasta Peth area..I'm sure many more visits are pending to try the mains like kheema pao and the desi chinese..

The huge Venkys board attracted us to this place. The shwarma setup also was looking attractive and we hopped in to try it.

It's a pretty average looking place ambiance wise. One might miss it because of the ambience and decor but don't bother just give it a try, you will be happy to have tried their food. Extremely filling and tasty, they are quick to deliver and are reasonably priced at what they offer.

The generous fillings and huge size of every preparation is what is attractive. Fresh Shawarma is served in either Roll or Parotha.. So unique to have eaten the shwarma wrapped in Parotha! Any Shwarma lover will be turned on by the different taste..

The other unique option is the 'mini' shawarma, in case you are not very hungry just try the Shwarma Pao for 30 bucks..

Irani milk tea to end it with bun maska loaded with butter.

Surely going back to try again!

Quite an old Irani cafe, you feel it the moment you enter. The most affordable budget restaurant too.
Chicken Kheema broon ticks all the right boxes. Must try. Other routine Irani cafe items like bun maska, cheese omelette and bun omelette are good. Basic stuff but still tastes so good!
Also tried the rotisserie chicken which was delicious and tangy! Loved it.
Ambience: 3/5 decent old types
Food: 4.5/5 can't go wrong! Superb taste.
Service: 3.5/5. Slow but efficient.

Try it if in Pune city area!

One of the Legendary places in Pune which is located in the core areas of the city. A must try here are the Bun Maska and the special Irani Tea. It it bliss. If Zomato ever plans to have any Irani Cafe Collection, then this place surely would be featured. It also serves Chinese food as an add-on. Will try ordering from here next time for sure!

My usual spot for a good breakfast. When I'm bored of the upma and pohe its Apollo where I head to.
Cheese omelette, bun omelette and Kheema Broon are my favorites for breakfast.
The classic bun maska makes it complete!

The pocket friendly food pulls me for the dinner as well.

Chinese tops it! Recently tried the tandoori chicken which dint disappoint either.

Expect the typical Irani cafe ambience, laid back and ok types.

Try it.

A friend of mine ordered Birayni and some oriental dishes from this place.
It tasted just amazing, the chicken was nicely marinated, specially the tastes of condiments were aromatic in the food.
Truly speaking, cant say about the ambiance and the services as i had it out of the restaurants.
As I am a Mumbaikar, i specially prefer this place to eat,
Keep up the Good Taste !!!!

Great food at affordable prices. The quantity is also really good. The Kheema and chicken chilli are my favorites there. Service is not all that great though. Don't expect good ambience.

This is one of the oldest and best Iranian restaurants in Pune. I tried hot & sour soup which was excellent, as it was full of flavours & tasted fresh. Burnt garlic rice & chicken Hong Kong style was something new which I tried. The Apollo Special veg was amazing. I mostly visit there with my friends for dinner or breakfast. Café Apollo is also famous for Egg omelette, pastries, bun butter jam and Irani chai. The service was exceptionally quick & good.
I would recommend you all to visit once and experience the good taste☺
.... Nadir Captain

Irani Chaai!
irani chai, bun maska, omlette, kheema pav and other patented irani breakfast options is the usp of this years old cafe in the heart of the city. Part of the antique apollo cinema this cafe gives you nostalgia
unique part is they serve indian chinese. this combo of irani chai and indian chinese is one of a kind. The chinese is delicious btw

Go here

All you 'chai'aholics out there Apollo is the place for authentic Irani chai. The Chinese food (specially the lollypops) is a treat for the taste buds. Its a value-for-money tasty food cafe.

It's awesome!!!
Been going here since bachpan ke din..
Bun omelette and Kheema pao is epic and a routine for me..
Relaxed, hassle free, casual is how I can describe the place with nothing special about the seating..
Got another excuse to visit Apollo more often.. They've started with Shwarma in the evenings.. Shwarma pao and shwarma paratha is the desi version of Apollo.. Very different from the other shwarma outlets..Filling! U got to tell the guy to make it less spicy as generally the patrons there like it spicy..
Mayur Pitale
I have visited Cafe Apollo a number of times. The 'chai' there is one of the best in Pune. The Chinese food there is also very tasty. Quality food for an extremely reasonable price!
