Visited this small restaurant for a lunch. Chicken thali here is awesome. Very good in taste. Ambience is simple, attached to the home. Rates are also reasonable. Must visit place for non veg lovers.

Parking: Yes Ambience: 3/5 Moderate but fresh Service: 3.5/5 Good, sometime little slow Food: 4/5 Good Card Payment: Yes I have visited this place 3 times till date. Taste is unique which attracts me here everytime. They make the preparation in Kolhapuri style. They have many thali options. I tried chicken thali with chapati, Sol kadhi, Chicken Sukha. They serves Chicken gravy with 3/4 pieces, Boiled edd curry, Pandhara-Tambada rassa, 3 Chapati, Steam rice and lemon-onion. Chicken gravy is good in taste. Chicken pieces used to be well coocked and fresh. Pandhara-tambara rassa is good but not upto to the mark. Egg curry is yummy. Chapari is tender, hot served. Overall nice experience. Chicken Thali Rs.160 Solkadhi Rs.20

A small place but they serve great mutton thali. Kokam sarbat is a must try if you visit. They even export and sell their kokam sarbat. Pro tip- Go karting nearby and then come here for a good lunch

Nice Restaurant. Very less Veg ( I am Vegetarian ) Options. It's good for Non-Veg. Variety of Non-Veg asal Kolhapuri food is here. Must visit if you are Non-vegetarian. For Vegetarians you will be little disappointed seeing very few options for Veg. Overall Good.

Authentic taste, ambience is ok ok. This place was suggested to me by my office colleague. This joint serves veg non veg both. All food items have local food taste. Must visit for people who want to try some authentic maharashtrian food.

We went for Lunch at this location. its a very small place but serves Home Made Food. We usually order Mutton Sukkha, Pandhra Rassa Bucket and Tamdha Rassa Bucket. The dishes were awesome in taste and authentic kolhapuri. I just love the Pandhra Rassa and can go on gulping the same. They have a variety of list from which we can order depending on number of people. Like 1 Plate, Half kg or 1 kg etc. The masala rice is also tempting. Normal Indrayani rice is good too. Many of us have also tried Chicken as well and its tastes awesome. They have a brand of Sol Kadi (GK) which is there in house product and that too is also good. For Bhakris you have to tell in 2 hours advance, so its freshly made. The ambience is not that great as the place is very small and only accommodates 9 tables of 4 people each. This place is always busy, sometime you have to keep waiting outside. Good Owner and Staff."

The food was really awesome we ordered sookha chicken (must try ) is the best or i can say this is the signature dish here. Also we ordered veg thali chicken handi rice and chapati all of that were also good. The place will give you village type feeling but only complain from my side is the ventilation and the placement of coolers and fan. Other wise it is very good place.

No problem at all about food quality and service. Must try at once. i am unhappy about the quantity compaires to price. Example if i order mutton thali it should be mutton but seen in my plate eag curry which is disappointed me. Mutton quantity very less. I can advise plz increase the quantity of peaces of mutton instead of eag curry or you can ask to customer. And one more thing about cleaning. I seen bugs in menu card i showed to your service person. Please take care of it. This is my first time in this restaurant and will like to visit again to see all improvement. Thanks.

Its small cozy place with full of taste, portion, qualtiy and quantity. Chicken thali here is mouth watering. Only change i noticed today was the quality of Pandhara Rassa, it wasnt upto the mark. Still it is a must visit place to have delicious chicken. Curry is coconut based so not so spicy. Overall this is an amazing place to eat.

Delicious non veg thali, feels like homade non veg food.

Best non veg hotel in kharadi

Loved the food, super authentic and delicious food. They don't use preservatives, colours and carnivals, purely home made food with the taste of kolhapur spices. Rates are quite pocket friendly. They serve jawab and bajra bhakri too.

Very good quantity and taste . Kharada chicken ka awesome . Triee chicken thali and found very tasty . Ambience is average but food is very good . Nice service . Authentic kolhaokol thali . Must try . However chapati quality could be improved as they were not soft and freshly prepared .

#NotSoGood Gavran Kolhapuri in the bylanes in Kharadi was my first choice for kolhapuri mutton bhakari after Surve's. I have been there at least 12-15 times in a year. But I must say that they have lost the entire charm now. Here's why. Firstly there thalis have changed. But I am okay to it as menu design is their right. But they did not have bhakri available at all on Friday night. Seriously? 2 Mini mutton thalis and separate mutton alani was ordered for ourselves with 2.5 seats. In that only I could finish was Tambada rassa and other was left in the plate due to following reasons. Pandhara Rassa: 1.5s. I have never tasted such bland pandhara rassa in my life. Grated coconut precipitated at the bottom and clear stock was on top :-(. Tastewise zero marks. Tambada Rassa: 4.5 s. tasted perfectly. I liked it. Good blend of spices and mutton stock. Mutton Masala in thali: 2.5s. Too salty. Did not taste like Kolhapuri at all. Chapati: 1. I could not break a piece with one hand. First time ever in my life मी चपातीच्या कडा काढून टाकल्या. My four year daughter couldn't eat chapati too. Rice: 2s. substandard quality rice grains, half cooked and grains were to free to spread everywhere. My daughter remarked बाबा, हा भात असा कसला आहे वेगळाच. Mutton Alani with soup: 2.5. Well cooked mutton pieces, but color amd taste of soup was so bland that मटणाची भांडी विसळून सूपसाठी पाणी काढलं की काय असं वाटलं. On top of that they added chat masala to add some taste. Come on! Chat masala for a mutton!? Tried bringing this to owner Kaka's notice. Firstly he did not admit that there is quality degrade. I had to give chapati pieces in his hand to check and also show pandhara rassa by pouring it in an unfinished thali. His only reaction at 10pm which was as bland as pandhara rassa was 'बघायला पाहिजे काय झालंय'. I may not go there ever again now.

Good place for lamb lovers.. This place has got nice taste of Kolhapuri mutton, tambda n pandhra rassa, but it isn't the best place for tambda pandhra.. It's not paisa wasool place but it isn't waste of money either..

A must visit place for non veg lovers!!!<br/>Ambiance is good and food is tasty and spicy, we had Mutton and Chicken Deluxe Thalis and both were good.

Pathetic food and service . Ordered 1 deluxe non-veg thali and 1 veg thali . Served us rotten mutton and stale chapatis and top of it the supervisor had the audacity to charge us the full amount for the food bill. The attitude of the supervisor was like sorry for this time ..It won’t happen again .. Are you for real ?? Who serves rotten food to customers.. Will not recommend this restaurant to anyone... <br/>

I have lived in Raja ram Patil Nagar for the past 1year but never entered the restaurant for some reason. Today is Gudi Padwa so I decided to try some Kolhapuri food and to my surprise the food was delicious! The restaurant is a very simple place probably reminding of my childhood days when we used to go out in my village. They charged 240 for this very filling mutton thali which had 4 pieces of mutton & egg in coconut based curry but it's darn spicy! Definitely a must visit

A place for home made delicious food with no frills.. One of my friend had very high recommendation so visited here along with him. The place is known for its non veg food however that day i settled for very. However as i really liked the food , i ordered some non very food through pegasus delivery.<br/>The food being served are fresh, home made and very authentic. I loved the chicken curry which has fresh cocunuy milk based gravy, the akha masoor was cooked perfection. Their egg pulav is unique. The best thing is freshly prepared solkadhi..very soul full..<br/>Loved the food..

This is the best place for tambda padhra rassa in kharadi. I love their Non veg, specially the tambda rassa in chicken thali was just amazing. I have visited this place many times and they never disappoints me.<br/>Tried their pithla bhakar today and it was tasty too.
Shreeyash Khedkar
Amazing place and amazing food. Not a huge sit out area, has around 7-8 tables. But the authentic kolhapuri taste that they serve is beyond comparision for kolhapuri taste. Service is quick, hygine is maintained. My personal fav wud b chicken kharda(starter) and their home made solkadhi is worth trying.
Deepali
Amazing food quality and quantity wise. Speciality is nonveg. Visiting this place from more than a year but never got disappointed. My daughter is just 2 years old but she likes pandhara rassa served in thali. I also tried many other places but this place deserves 5*

The food was awasome ,as the taste too, felt like had a village kind of chicken .Also the quantity was satisfying ,would recommend try for once ....keep it up team Gavran

Visited Hotel Have an Kolhapuri mostly for lunch a few times and also ordered delivery. It is without doubt one of the best, most authentic Maharashrian food experiences in the city. The chicken and mutton thali is a must try and will have anyone craving for more. Terrific food!👌

I would say, this is best hotel if you want to taste non veg.<br/><br/>One suggestions for you guys is - add chicken thali an mutton thali for online order on Zomato or swiggy<br/><br/>Definitely it would gear up you sale<br/><br/>Thanks<br/><br/>

Excellent tasty Food..Great value for money , but I don’t see steamed rice on the online menu . Best part is when you order the food is ready within 20mts<br/>

Best place to have authentic Kolhapuri non veg. Speciality is pandhara and tambada rassa.<br/>I have been to this place many times and it<br/>never disspointed.<br/><br/>Recenty, they have started their own brand of solkadhi and it's amazing. Must try for solkadhi loversss.<br/>Be patient for your food and you will enjoy it.<br/>Happy eating ;)<br/>

I had ordered goat mutton masala for home delivery(dlvrd at 14:00hrs). I received a bunch of shredded meat pieces(very spicy). The worst part is the meat had lost all its taste and it felt as if i was chewing spices.
Raghunath Jagadale
This is one of my favorite place for non veg food. Keep it up guys. One of the best place for tambda/pandhara rassa. I gave 5 star out 5 for this hotel.

I saw this place a couple of years back while recceing for some land.<br/>Small place, clean, couple of water coolers provided.<br/>I quite like the rustic look of the place...feels like eating in small dhabas in the 80s.<br/>We ordered for a mutton thaali and aakha masoor plus pitla and solkadi.<br/>1. Meat curry: please help me with a word which is better then "outstanding".....<br/>2. Egg curry: 5 outta 5.<br/>3. Chapaties: 5 outta 5.<br/>4. Pandhara n tambda rassas: 7 outta 5.<br/>5. Pitla: 6 outta 5.<br/>6. Akkha masoor: 4 outta 5.<br/>Very well priced and definitely much more then the moneys worth.<br/>I recommend all to go and taste this lovely homemade food.<br/>

chicken quantity was good <br/><br/>mutton pieces could have been a few more in the biryani

Quality of Chicken was very good. It was marinated and cooked well. I had requested less oil and this was done.

I am always a fan of authentic Marathi non veg delicacies and this restaurant serves amazing Marathi cuisines! I super loved their Kharada chicken and mutton Kassa. Keep it up guys!

I have ordered a couple of times and they have never dissapointed. I have tried chicken kharda Sukka, chicken sukka and mutton sukka and all of them are terrific. They make it just like in home, very fresh and without a lot of oil and unnecessary spices. The preparations are just right and healthy too.

So this place serves "Kolhapuri Non Veg" food. To be frank, I found this place little disappointing. This place don't have that authentic Kolhapuri taste in it. We have ordered 2 Chicken Deluxe thali. Chicken was tender and well cooked but it didn't soak all the flavors of gravy in it. Tambada rassa was good but pandhara rassa had the only taste of coconut milk instead of the equal taste of meat stock+coconut milk+spices. The one thing that utterly let me down was they only serve both the rassas just a single time more (in Kolhapur they can serve you rassa as many times as you want, like for all the eternity! 😅). This place is little small too. And to speak about the price of thali, it is well priced. Service is prompt.<br/><br/>Ambience ★★<br/>Service ★★★<br/>Food ★★<br/>Value for money ★★★

Craving some hardcore Maharashtrian non veg food, this place seemed perfect to order from.<br/>We ordered a kharda chicken dry starter and mutton thali.<br/>The kharda chicken was very soft, tender and flavourful! The guys handling the place warned us that it would be a bit on the hotter side, which it was, owing to the green chilli paste it was coated with. And it was very yummy!<br/>The mutton curry (saundha masala) was just okay, as well as the egg masala curry (peanuts in the curry), which was disappointing as they were the mains.<br/>The tambada and pandhara rasa were very flavour packed, hot and delicious soups. The salt was a bit on the higher side for me though.<br/>Will have to definitely visit again for trying other dishes.<br/><br/>Please note that this joint is a casual dine with a rustic hut Ambience and good amount of coolers to keep you cool. We preferred to take away.

Gavran Kolhapuri is a relatively small food joint with a seating place for around 20 people.<br/>It is located in the bylanes of Rajaram Patil Nagar in Kharadi just 1.5 kms from Eon IT Park and WTC.<br/><br/>They serve various Non Veg Thalis, with speciality in Mutton dishes from the Kolhapur region of Maharashtra.<br/><br/>We have visited here multiple times for lunch and dinner, as it's just beside our rented apartment.<br/><br/>Would recommend Mutton thali, Mutton Sukka and also the sole kadhi.<br/><br/>You may find this place full during<br/>n Friday's lunch and dinner.
Amol Surwase
Tried Chicken Thali and Boneless Thali here. Taste is very nice. Ambience is also at par. Gives proper Kolhapuri Thali experience. Must try if you love Kolhapuri thali.

Food is awesome, but Bhakri is not provided if needed more. Gives excuses of more time needed. Apart from this the food is too good. Ambience need to improve a bit more.

A new hangout for good food... must watch out egg pulav
Pranav Gaikwad
Great place... authentic Maharastrian Non veg food... Homely ambiance and quality is served... all sorts of thali... and also serve with jawari and bazari Bhakari (you need to order this 20 min before you reach)...
Sandeep
Good choice if you wish to try a good Kolhapuri style thali. They have options in egg, chicken and mutton. Their chapatis are amazing and the 3 per thali make this place a good value for money. Try this for lunch and you will end up feeling full all day.
Rachita Moon
Ordered Goat Mutton but chewy lamb was delivered and excess oil. not worth 300 bucks.

Prompt service. Tasty food.<br/>A must visit for people who like Kolhapuri chicken/mutton..<br/><br/>Ambiance is not that good. It is a simple restaurant with 6-7 tables and all were full. My friend told me that people from Eon IT visit this restaurant a lot and after having the food there, even I feel that it is worth visiting!<br/><br/>It is very light on pocket as well.<br/>A place apt for having delicious chicken with family/friends.
Yashi Gupta
I love the home made simple food which is served here. As a vegetarian, my favorite is pithla bakhri with thechha. My friends like to eat fish and chicken thali. The quantity served is very good compared to the price.<br/><br/>A pocket friendly option for daily dose of good food.
Shridhar Ghodke
Awesome food, had chicken thali here with bhakri. Would recommend to kolhapuri food lovers.<br/>Good place to go with family, a bit outside but Google map will help.😊👍👌

If you crave for home cooked food, this is the place to go. It's a small place but very clean, the food is very delicious and is very reasonably priced. We ate the chicken and mutton thali....very glad we found this place 👌😊

Haven for tambada pandhara rassa (red and white gravy) lovers.. I been here for 11 - 12 times and Do visit again for sure.. I mostly ordered chicken deluxe thali with solkadhi. The food is freshly cooked with home made masalas and it test so good. The ambiance is not so great and service is little slow. However I will waite for hours for eating here. The price for thali is unbelievable cheaper. Its hidden gem in kharadi area. Vegetarian people don't visit, as nothing here for you. Thousands times better than other nonveg thali system hotels. Don't forget to ask for solkadhi..
Vikram Verma
Food is unique , freshly cooked and with homely taste. Serves only small set of maharastrian dishes.<br/><br/>Must try are kharda chicken / mutton and solkadi.

Since I'm crazy about Kolhapuri food, this place is a blessing for me. I always have the Mutton deluxe thali here and it is just amazing. The rassas are authentic tasting and the Mutton masala is exceptionally good with rice. The pieces are of good quality too. Even though I am not a roti or chapati person, I am crazy about the chapatis here and eat them plain or with thecha once I'm done with the Mutton rice. If you love Kolhapuri food you must give this place a try.
Harshal Bhargav
This is the place to go if you want authentic kolhapuri food. I had a chicken thali with pandhra rassa and tambda rassa and it was amazing. Solkadi is lovely here. Service is good and the ambience too.<br/><br/>Keep up the good work!
Swapnil Giram
This is not a restaurant in true sense. It is like a home mess. So don't expect a fancy ambience, modern amenities. It's a perfect place for those looking for home made maharashtriyan non veg thali. The famed tambada and pandhara rassa is very tasty. Solkadhi a nice accompaniment at the end. No airiated sodas available, instead traditional drinks like kokam sarabat, buttermilk and Nimbu paani for a change. I have been here a few times and will continue to go again.
ADITYA SALUNKE
I dont really care about the ambience or location..... For me the food has to be orgasmic....i ordered from this place using swiggy, i was expecting a great food as per the reviews i read about it... And i really found it salty rather than tasty....<br/><br/>I always wonder if the chef/cook gets disappointed when he knows that the order is placed online.... As soon as he/she learns about online order, he/she stops giving a shit about what is coming out of kitchen, in total i ordered 4 different items and surprisingly i liked none..... well ...Thats surprising.<br/><br/>Rice...?...., trust me plain rice was not cooked, after that the popular chicken was also not cooked....... Well it still can be a coincidence......after that both a chicken handi and tambada rassa (red curry) was salty...and thats really strange as even if the salt is cheap one should not waste it like that....i dont mean to disrespect any1 but i felt truly insulated with having all (all4) orders delivered without knowing whats being getting delivered...this place is now out of my league.
FNI
This place is in the same Lane of downtown racing. Besides other thalis, they also also serve fish thalis. We tried both, pomfret and the catla fish. The catla fish was better than the pomfret. There is nothing much to mention about the ambience, but the food is the +point. It is like having food that is cooked at home.
Nandish #Foodblogger
Food is authentic Kolhapuri with all the masalas made at their home itself. A small, bit shady place but food is good. Quantity and quality can be improved. Quick service and decent food makes it a go to place.
Uddipan Sarkar
Good place for authentic kolhapuri food. Really liked their mutton thali (I prefer red to white meat). Also the bhakri were well made. Tasted the chicken as well from my friend who ordered it. Well cooked. Mutton was also well done but some pieces were more bony. I don't hate mutton or lamb bones but a perfect piece should have more meat with bones as icing. Good experience and worth a visit.

Ambiance - went once and it was a (not huge but) spacious place in a small cozy space. The way interiors were managed using desi tidbit is appreciable at my end. I think it would be really refreshing to visit during day-time.<br/><br/>Cleanliness - was clean enough to enjoy food while you are super hungry. <br/><br/>Service - eeeee! super-fast. Loved talking to the ‘Kaku’ who prepared tasty food for us. <br/><br/>Menu - had enough dishes (listed with no confusion) to have on a go, was as per the expectations we can have from such a place (in good sense) <br/><br/>Food - bill included Chicken Thali - Deluxe C and Leg Piece Chicken Sukka. All the items were fresh preparations and the raw material used was also fresh. I loved both the Rassas; haven’t had the one like theirs at any Marathi or Kolhapuri restaurant in Pune.<br/>It’s yummm! I’ll just say, “Mom ki yaad aa gayi”.<br/>You should visit the place once, and I’m sure they won’t disappoint you.<br/><br/>AMBIANCE & CLEANLINESS - 1.5, SERVICE - 1, MENU & FOOD - 1.5

There are lot of places which claim to serve authentic Kolhapuri food, one of them being Hotel Gavran situated at a corner on a silent street in Kharadi. The place being surprisingly close to EON IT park still feels very aloof giving a feeling of being at a remote place. The place is a small one and for someone looking for ambience must look elsewhere.<br/><br/>To the food then.We were a group of friends and ordered Chicken and Mutton thalis. The thalis had a mutton/chicken masala, an egg curry, tambhara-<br/>Pandhara rassa, Roti(more like a paratha for a north Indian), Rice Bowl. Also ordered were Solkadhi, Chicken sukka and Surmai fish fry.<br/><br/>The Thali was exceptionally good with special mention to the mutton/chicken Masala. Just perfect in taste and with a nice coconut based gravy. The egg curry had almost the same flavour.<br/>The Solkadhi was mildly spiced and went well with the spicy food.<br/>The chicken sukka was average as it was missing the Masala and spices expected of chicken Sukka.<br/>The fish was a fried one with generous coating of Rava. It was okayish in Taste and flavour.<br/><br/>Recommendation: Go for the Thali when you come here, the place excels at those. Other accompaniments may be a hit or a miss depending on your luck.

Amazing food!!! If you are in pune and looking for good kolhapuri food you have to come here and try their chicken thali deluxe and chicken sukha. It was fabulous and the hotel is very much wallet friendly.

Worst hotel ever visited. Not authentic kolhapuri food.Complete disappointment.Never ever visit this hotel.Cheating people by saying Kolhapuri food. This kind of people bring bad name to Kolhapuri food.Cheaters

You are not really a foodie, until 90 percent of your phone gallery is always seized by food pictures. <br/>While deleting the old ones, found this from a couple of month back from my go to place for authentic Kolhapuri cravings. <br/>Hotel Gavran Kolhapuri is a gem hidden in the narrow bylanes of kharadi. Do not expect anything fancy as it's more like a verandah of a rural house with basic chairs and tables. <br/>What you see in the picture is a Mutton Thali that comes for 210/- and has 3 chapatis/bhakris, half egg masala, mutton masala(5 pieces), rice and a bowl each of tambda and pandra rassa. On the side is a portion of Mutton Sukka(8 pieces) for 200/-. The thali is excellent in one word. Mutton is fresh, very succulent and full of flavours. The rassas are lovely. Unlike other wannabe Kolhapuri places who believe that increasing the spice level and oil is the way to go, this place stands apart. I have also tried their solkadhi and neembu sharbat and loved them both.<br/>Mutton lovers do give a try. :)
Vishal Ithape
I really like this little place, although my taste buds aren't compatible with Kolhapuri cuisines, I could still enjoy the homely food here. Biryani or rather Pulao was defiantly different without any masala which, I now feel abhorrent about after having this nice little dish devoid of any masala but with curry. 😉<br/> <br/><br/>Edit : Ordered Biryani again from this place , my tastebuds were in heavenly bliss and in eternal love. Just fantastic , especially Chicken Leg piece Biryani.
Abhijit Wavhal
Authentic Tambda and Pandhara rassa. Do try chicken thali with Bajra bhakri. <br/>This place is a bit hard to locate but worth for sure. Number of tables are very limited so I would recommend to avoid peak hours, especially on weekends. <br/>If you have not tasted masala rice with mutton gravy, it is Crime.
Shravan Sethumadhavan
Have been hearing about this place for a long time. Finally got an opportunity to give it a try on a Saturday afternoon.<br/><br/>The place is small. But the tables are very neatly laid out. Ordered the chicken thali with bajre ki bhaakri. Also tried chicken sukka and nimboo sharbat.<br/><br/>Good things first. Service is quick. The chicken masala was exactly what I expected it to be. Delicious. The tambda rassa was a welcome change to the pallette. Even the bhaakri was nice and filling. Nimboo sharbat is, well, nimboo sharbat. Not much wrong you do there.<br/>Chicken sukka was really underwhelming though. The flavour was a bit weird for me personally.<br/><br/>The thali in itself is filling. And not too heavy on the pocket as well. Definitely going back for it.

I've ordered chicken Thali deluxe . Taste was quite good. But Bhakari was nat available. Chicken Masala was very Tasty. Tambada rassa was OK.
Sujit Chavan
Pandhra rassa was ok, mutton was not boiled properly. One common belief i have saw in pune that kolhapuri means spicy, its wrong concept kolhapuri is a unique taste in its own way. As owner is from kolhapur he should take it in consideration. Ambience is good managed short space efficiently.
Priya
These guys should really invest on their ETA of food. Taste is good only if it reaches a hungry person in few minutes. 45 minutes is too much. That too if it is crowded, you have to wait for ever. Yes, food is nice, but you can never predict if you will receive your dish in an hour or not.
Vitasta Abrol
A small place situated in interiors of Kharadi which is bit difficult to find. Few tables are kept in an extension of a house, so don’t expect a fancy dine in setup. Their menu has limited number of dishes. They serve home style Kolhapuri food which is too spicy to set you on fire. We had Chicken Thalis with bhakari and chapatis. Since they were out of mutton, so we had to opt for chicken. It came with chicken masala, egg masala, tambda rassa, pandhara rassa, bhakaris and rice.<br/>I loved the bhakari. It was so soft and fresh. When I asked for more, I got to know that it has to be pre-ordered. A perfect option to balance hot and spicy meal. Tambda rassa with colossal zing was lovely. Loaded with spices, it will surely warm you from inside and the spices will hook you. Chicken Masala was exceptionally hot too. A fiery Kolhapuri delicacy. Pandhara rassa was yet another flavourful thing in thali. We kept on ordering Lemon Soda to calm the taste buds but I loved the meal. Looking forward to visit again and try some other dishes. <br/>Ambience: 3/5<br/>Value for money: 4.5/5

Simple but yet the most fabulous food I have eaten. The thali was so perfect. If u looking for some home made delicious food your search ends here. Though the ambiance is just as simple as a home varanda it reminds you of a small village place while you are on a trip. I could not stop eating .. one of the must visit list of restaurants ...

Nadakhula..!<br/><br/>Yes, finally the original Kolhapuri taste I found in Pune..<br/><br/>Getting to this place is hard, but it's worth it once you had tambda/pandhara here :)<br/><br/>Do visit once.......often@<br/><br/>Try anything you like Egg/Chicken and Even Mutton also..<br/><br/>

I Went to this place last week on the feedback of my friend and they didn't let me down. As it was a friday, it took long time to get our food, but it was worth every penny we paid. Food quality and taste is simply rustic and awesome. It is THE place to eat mutton dishes. The 2 types of mutton gravies they serve is their USP. I have added this place to one of my favorite food destinations in Pune.

We have been going to this place from more than 2 years now. Also used to love their food. But this place has now lost its charm. :(<br/>They do not serve hot rotis (Keep them in casserole by making them in advance) and most of the times cook is unavailable to make jawor or bajara roti. Chicken curry is very liquidish. Solkadhi is also pathetic.<br/><br/>If I would have reviewed 2 years ago, it would be 4 star. But now not even worth of 2. I would not recommend this place for Kolhapur food lovers.

This joint tucked away in the bylanes of kharadi is a perfect option to have authentic kolhapuri food.<br/><br/>The “gharguti kolhapuri jevan” of this place is spot on. We ordered chicken thali and chicken sukka from the a-la carte menu. <br/><br/>The thali comprised of chicken curry, half egg curry, pandhara and thambada rassa, chapati and rice. Also ordered solkadi to nullify the spice effect  .The Thambada and pandhara rassa were amazing. Chicken sukka was also equally good. <br/><br/>The place is just an extension of a house so don’t expect a very good lavish dining experience. But they do make all that up by the excellent quality of kolhapuri food they serve.

The food was just perfect.<br/><br/>Mutton was cooked with perfection and the taste was perfect.<br/><br/>Overall the experience was very nice and I will visit this place again.

This is a quaint little place behind EON IT park in Kharadi. If you have been craving for Kolhapuri food in Pune, you must give this place a try. The Tambra and Pandhra rassa are very good and so is the sol kadi. Moreover, it doesn't burn a hole in your pocket.

If you are a lover of Maharashtrian kolhapuri food (Chicken with Tambda/Pandhra Rassa), this place is pretty much right there in terms of the taste. Price wise- it is very affordable. Bad luck For vegetarians no options to go and eat with excitement. We had chicken Thali and it was simply awesome spicy, served with Tamba/Pandhra Rassa. We would love to visit there again.

Simply superb chicken thali must say! You can never get enough of the pandhra rassa! Rassa lovers must visit! Very economical and lovely taste! Chicken gravy was very tasty and quantity of chicken given was also perfect! I fell in love with the tambada and pandhra rassa! Perfect place for dinner after a rainy evening! Ambience is quite ok but food is just amazing! This is going to be one of my addas for sure.. :)

I found a gem in Kharadi !!!!!!<br/><br/>While Wagholi doesn't have good food options yet, Kharadi comes to our Savior :) One out of many other options, is humble Hotel Gavran Kolhapuri ! <br/><br/>While its quite a task to locate this place initially, but the effort is worth this food quest. <br/><br/>There is a small parking space available, so make sure you are an early bird. This restaurant has sitting space divided in two small section. Each of them have around 7 to 8 tables. It's a cozy place to which I took instant liking to. <br/><br/>Coming down to our main business, FOOD :) We were not in mood to have thali, which is what they are famous for, but went for A la Carte. We ordered for Mutton Sukka, Mutton Handi, Pandra Rassa, 1 litre of Solkadi and plain rice.<br/><br/>Mutton Sukka was show stealer for us. Mutton was perfectly cooked in rich medium spicy brown masala. It had 8 PCs of mutton with bones, which i simply love. Mutton Handi was pretty average. The curry was a little watery, but it had good taste. Rice was of good quality, we could easily make that out from its fragrance and taste. Lastly, the Pandra Rassa, mild and flavourful !!!!! Enjoyed sipping on it between our meal. And Solkadi :) so very refreshing!!!! Great for summers. <br/><br/>At the end of the meal, we were so satisfied !!!!! So, if you want to enjoy simple home-made, delicious kolhapuri food, just visit this place. Plus, it's easy on the pocket !!!! Now what can one ask for :)<br/><br/>Food: 4.5/5<br/>Ambience: 3/5 ( I have rated this keeping generally people's preference, for me it's 4/5 )<br/>Cost: 4/5<br/><br/>Bon Appetit

Very authentic kolhapuri taste in each and every dish. Never ever been dissatisfied on the quality no matter how many times i visit.Visiting in big groups might b a bit troublesome as the service is a bit slow but once u taste the food , u r ready to forgive everything 😊. Very much recommended.

Good food worth the money. Its a home food cooked served in a Resto type. Only parcel available no home delivery.<br/>The kolhapuri food Tambda & Pandhra rassa is amazing (thumbs Up).<br/>Mutton sukkha is much better than chicken sukkha(both being delicious according to the meat).<br/>Roti is also soft and good as compared to other hotes roti;s are disaster , but Hotel Gavran Kolhapuri roti is definitely good..<br/><br/>Worth a try !!!!

Chapati ,Padhara rassa & ambience is not up to the mark, other food items are very good. Specially chicken sukka and mutton masala bowl was very nice.

Genuinely hardworking family...good intentions...great food...thats the story of Gavran. Its a simple place...just a clean yard with seating but the food is home cooked and consistently great tasting. Their service is simple yet efficient. Even my 5 year old daughter has latched on to the Pandra Rassa. Their chicken thali and chicken sukha are the best. Chapattis make you want to eat more and to wash everything down is the lovely Soul Curry. The food could be a tad spicy for some but it still won't hurt you. All this for a very reasonable price!!! Must go...must popularise...Its a tucked away foodie halt.

We have been visiting this place for few months now so have to give them credit for their tambda & pandhra rassa. Chicken Thali is something special but even Veg Thali is very well done. Big Thank you to the Owner for bringing flavours of Kolhapur near our home. They still need to work on improving service & getting bhakri on everyday menu but still they are doing very good job with taste of their dishes.

While the food is great at the restaurant, his service is not upto the mark.<br/><br/>If you are a lover of maharashtrian food, this place is pretty much right there in terms of the taste. Price wise- it is very very affordable too. For vegetarians, he has the pitale bhakri, veg thali etc- but beware, most of the times, the sabji is always aloo.<br/><br/>Another issue I have with this place is that even though it doesn't deliver( he hasnt started that yet), the last time i parcelled food- the chicken quantity was just abysmal. Even one person wouldn't have enough.<br/><br/>Taste wise- it's pretty authentic. It's go no air conditioning or anything, so going there for lunch in the summer might be a bad idea.<br/><br/>All in all- quaint place with decent food, if only service would be a little better. And also be prepared - most of the items of his menu aren't available on any given day.

This place is a total gem and solely for a foodie. Run by a simple gentleman in a small hut / house like setup in the backyards of Kharadi the food and service compensates for anything that is missing in the setup. Had ordered chicken sukka (dry) and chicken masala (gravy). Both were amazing and had their distinct unique tastes (unlike many small hotels who use the same gravies). They use traditional maharashtrian preparation techniques which is rare to come by these days. I had also ordered the solkadi which was good too and very refreshing in the summer heat. In terms of the service and hygiene they have maintained good standards.

A nice small outlet which caters full maharashtian delicacies..peaceful place..overall liked it. Thumbs up!!! Special recommendation to those who want some kolhapuri twist in their food..

For someone who usually prefers subtle dishes cooked with minimal ingredients, I’ve surprised myself of late by taking to complex, spicy and often hot Maharashtrian delicacies like fish to water. Sure, I do enjoy misal-pav once in a while but it’s definitely not something one craves for at all. In fact, my first brush with non-vegetarian Maharashtrian cuisine was at Kaveri in Wagholi, as recently as a year and a half back, during which I gulped down multiple bowls of that addictive tambda rassa. Then recently I was invited to check out the Kolhapuri Food Festival at another popular Maharashtrian restaurant, Maratha Samrat, and I still salivate at the thought of their mutton chops and kheema & prawns fry. <br/><br/>Compared to the above two, Gavran Kolhapuri is the humblest of them all. It’s nondescript location, situated in the interiors of Kharadi, makes it tough even for residents of the area to figure out. Once you do find the restaurant the seating area seems like an extension of a home and it probably is. The food too, is very home-style without the oomph or variety found on restaurant menus. They’ve got thalis and an a la carte menu with just 4-5 preparations overlapping in chicken, mutton and egg options. And you do need to call-in and order your jowar / bajra bhakris before you land up to dine otherwise you might not get any. <br/><br/>While thali is the more economical option, we wanted to try dishes not featured in the thali so stuck to the a la carte menu. We ordered a half Mutton Handi, Chicken Sukka, Tambda Rassa, Kolhapuri Mutton Pulao and Solkadi. Jowar Bhakris had been pre-ordered for as is required. We also wanted to try the Thecha and Pithala but they didn’t have any on the day we visited. <br/><br/>The Handi came with 5 pieces of mutton and a runny, but tasty curry just perfect to dunk the bhakris in to. Chicken Sukka was succulent pieces of chicken coated in a thick brown masala. This one was hotter than the handi and I reached out to the soft bhakris to balance out the heat. Unfortunately the dish had an undesired addition of a strand of hair which I’d like to believe was an anomaly because the seating area was very clean and we didn’t face any other hygiene issues while dining here.<br/><br/>I loved the tambda rassa – the goodness of a mutton broth sexed up with a solid whack of spices. On a rainy or winter evening this is all you’d need to warm the cockles of your heart. The Mutton Pulao was another fiery affair. I’d have loved some chilled raita on the side to tackle those spices; too bad they didn’t have any.<br/><br/>Now for the not-so-good bit. Of course, one doesn’t expect Michelin star service from such modest joints but the service can here be very laidback and indifferent. Like when we brought the hair in chicken issue to the server’s notice he didn’t so much as even react to our complaint; maybe he wondered why we made a fuss about this at all. I’d pre-ordered 6 bhakiris before visiting hoping to order some more if required. Well, that didn’t go as per plan. <br/><br/>When we asked for another round of bhakris, we got just 2 more instead of the 6 we wanted. The reason? We didn’t order more to begin with. Also, the mutton pieces weren’t that great but it would be fair to note that the prices are significantly lower than its flashier counterparts.<br/><br/>I’d recommend Gavran Kolhapuri strictly if you’re in the vicinity and looking for an inexpensive, fuss-free, but satisfactory, meal. Else you might be better off sticking to your local haunt.<br/><br/>We paid Rs.860/- for all of this plus a litre of Solkadhi which is very reasonable.

Yes this place home away from home.<br/>Wow the food taste and rassa was mouth watering every time remind me to visit this again.<br/>Go there and order chicken thali enjoy white rassa awesome!!<br/>Never had such food in any kharadi restaurant. <br/>Not 5 star because of location as you need to follow tricky way if going via google map. Also place surrounds with dogs in night so better to avoid after 8 o'clock.

Had chicken thali - deluxe c. <br/>The chicken gravy, pandhra and tambda rassa were very good. The egg curry not so much, but was decent. They were not serving bhakri that day, so will definitely visit some other day for sure to taste it and explore the menu card further.<br/><br/>Overall, good, tasty food and nice quantity. Value for money for sure!

Homemade authentic Kolhapur, mildly spicy and very hygenic. I would reccommed to for thali along with mutton alni. A good place to out with family as well though the place is small. Plz use Google maps to visit this place as the roads are bit confusing or call the owner, he will guide you properly.

Amazing food. Eateries like this deserve more praise. Home cooked food in rural kolhapuri style. I have been to this place 5 times in a month :) I love the food here to that extent. Mutton Sukha is to die for and their thalis along with bhakar are worth every single penny you spend here. To top it off sol kadhi is just the right thing to end your meal with. Highly recommended for meat lovers.

Excellent maharashtrian home style cooked food. Recommended through Pune eatouts, me and hubby went on a weekend. Was in the mood for mutton. We both ordered for mutton thalis. It came with pandhara and tambada rassa. Both were bowls of goodness. And the mutton gravy was absolutely delish. Will visit more often.

My office has recently shifted to EON, so this is my new destination to explore food joints. Friends told about this place for authentic Kolhapuri food and I went with them for lunch one day.<br/><br/>Its a homely joint; the seating consists of tables and chairs placed in the verandah of the home. The top is covered and there's trees and plants to keep the ambience cool. The place is small, so during peak hours, there can be some waiting time. Its more crowded on a Friday.<br/><br/>We ordered chicken thaalis, mutton thaalis and one sukha chicken.<br/>The thaalis consist of bowl of chicken/mutton, bowl of half egg curry, "pandhraa" rassa, "tambda" rassa, chapati/bhakri and rice. Though a limited quantity thaali, the quantity is good.  <br/>All the food taste very good, not very hot, well balanced spices, and quite liberal with the oil :-).<br/>We also ordered a bottle (1 litre) of solkadi to wash down all the good food.  <br/><br/>I really enjoyed the meal here.  <br/><br/>Ambience: 3.5/5<br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service: 3.5/5<br/>OVERALL: 3.5/5

The mutton thali was amazing, tambda and pandhra rassa was very nice, and the quantity was good.<br/>I dont have any negarive points except don't expect a good ambiance like the so called big hotels but you can surely expect mouth watering, delicious, homely food.

Amazing homely food. Taste worth a try.<br/>You need to be patient as its not a fast food joint. They will take some time to serve the best Kolhapuri dishes you will enjoy.

Absolutely loved the kolhapuri mutton thaali.. The pandhra rassa and tambda rassa too<br/>Solkadhi served in one litre bottles @ rs 70 per litre.. Havnt seen this at any other place in pune..<br/>Perfectly spiced and balanced gravies and masalas.. <br/>Chicken thaali was really good too<br/>Will definitely go back to try the kolhapuri mutton pulav .. Total VFM<br/>PS: don't expect any flashy ambience.. Its a simple little place with a very clean kitchen and a few tables and chairs and a very humble owner

#Negativereview #GavranKolhapuri #Kharadi <br/><br/>Being from the hospitality industry myself, I generally avert from writing negative reviews as I understand that there are some off days for both parties. However, I'm writing this here as I was challenged by the owner of this establishment that how much ever I vent, it's not going to affect either him or his business. <br/><br/>So, we had a few friends over from Bombay for the weekend and after a late night we were super hungry ASA we woke up. This place being next to my house and me having been there in the past too, suggested my guests that we do lunch here as they wanted to eat mutton and Kolhapuri dishes. <br/><br/>I called the restaurant at 1:43PM and gave them the order knowing very well they take time to prepare their dishes. I clearly informed him that we'd be there in 15mins so please keep it ready for which he acknowledged. <br/><br/>We reached the restaurant and the owner comes and takes our order again for which I told him that we've already placed it on the phone. He said they don't accept phone orders (pissed off scene 1). We again gave the order and asked how long it'd take. He said it'd be ready in 10mins. It's now 30mins since we've been seated and still nothing. 45mins and yeah, still nothing! (pissed off scene 2)<br/><br/>Finally the food arrived and we noticed that our pithla isn't there. They said it's on the way and it arrived just before we got up to wash our hands. We eventually had to parcel it. (pissed off scene 3)<br/><br/>Now, this para is what made me write this review. My wife Pallavi Mishra up to the owner and cited all these issues and suggested that they increase their staff to cater to guests better. For which he replied, for cranky guests like us, he cannot employ another staff. This is when I told him I'm going to write a review on Zomato and other SM platforms to which he plainly said, it doesn't matter cos people would still visit his establishment. (pissed off scene 4)<br/><br/>I find it really sad that small places like this which serve great food has gotten success to their head while stalwarts in the industry still remain humble.<br/>

This restaurant is very close to my house but it took me around 2 yrs to discover it. It is small with limited seat capacity, more like a shack. But don't go by look because food they serve might be limited by choice but taste will make the difference.<br/><br/>Last two times I have ordered Mutton Sukka with Bhakri and taste was quite good and not spicy like you would expect from Kohlapuri dish. Portion was quite good and you will feel value for money.<br/><br/>Again dont go by look and ignore, otherwise you will miss a good valued restaurant and tasty food.

It was my Hubby's b'day and our close friends planned for Gavrani Kolhapuri. I am not a big fan of kolhapuri food but still love to had veg thali there. It was delicious and served with love ..very homely feeling. It was pleasant and quiet around so enjoyed gapshap and bday celebration with the lovely varhadi food. I just loved Dodka bhaji and Pithla. very different taste than home. The food was actually spicy but still had good time there. Love to visit again and recommend others.

One of the hotel where one can expect home made food taste.<br/>Hotel is not big<br/>Make sure you make a booking over call before going there if you are in hurry. Also at the same time you let them know what you are going to eat.<br/>Food quality and quantity is very good.<br/>Value for money!

How cud I just justify about this Authentic place, worth travelling down to Kharadi for only the crave of Kolhapuri -ghar ka khana.. Warm welcome, clear menu, perfect little cozy ambiance which was mesmerising and yes of course the restaurants design :simple yet subtle ... The aromas wanted us to order a meat dish for which the Kolhapuri is known. I only ordered for a mutton thali which indeed made me realize the other restaurants not being completely authentic... I have seriously enjoyed my part of dinner and I really would ask people to get down there and experience the lovely place and its authentic food. Well done Sir.. Thank you so much for your Hospitality..

This mom and pop outlet/house/restaurant/takeaway tugs on you. The ambience is fine as long as you don't get the view of the sofa in their living room. The food is made by mum all by herself and is definitely kholapuri. The Thai is well balanced and priced just above okay. The chicken is sumptuous. The tender meat falls of the bone readily. The variety is limited so only fans of home cooked kholapuri dish may repeat visits. A definite go atleast once. <br/>Caution: this is not exactly a restaurant. It's home with the lawn serving the purpose. So do visit with company keeping that in mind.
