Review Chennai Kitchen - Ranchi

Arpit Prateek
Food was Good, Service :- Slow, Atmosphere is Great but not much Space, Good For small Family.
Shimmee
It's a small restaurant which serves south Indian food mainly along with some Chinese options. Cleanliness is maintained and the staff is friendly. I enjoyed the street view.

Must go. Very very nice staff. Very good service. Very good food. Extremely budget friendly. Hygienic. Dosa is the tastiest maybe in whole city. Chole Bhature was also awesome & lesser oily than other places. One of the best restaurants in Ranchi. They work more on food & hospitality than ambience & that is good. By the way, ambience is also nice. A lovely place.
Gourav Bhardwaj
Food & Staff Both Are Good. Ambience Too. The only issue is the parking as when the area in front of the restaurant gets completely full you can't park at any other place as the next shop car accessories owner will come out running and will tell you not to park there.
Pankaj Kumar

abhinandita ghose
Very nice restaurant. The waiters are efficient. Less waiting time. Most important this is only place in ranchi which serve rasam with dosa. (Apart from sambar and chutney). The rasam is very tasty. One must try it.
ashish kumar
Delicious and variety of vegetarian options. Loved the dosa variety in the menu
Dilip kumar shukla
Excellent place to enjoy delicious and higenic food with family and friends at reasonable rates
Eknath Soni
The place is really good for South Indian food. I had their American Cheese dosa and on another ocassion onion cheese dosa. Both turned out to be great. The staff is good and the place has a cafe sort of vibe. Visit to enjoy great South Indian food or Indo-chinese snack if you want.

I recently visited and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and attentive service. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and the menu offered a wide range of delicious options.

I liked the food here. Paneer chilli was fine ,had filter coffee with cheese masala dosa which was really delicious. This place serves quality dosa also they have main course veg food but it's mainly focus on south indian specially there dosas are Amazing.

shut your restaurant or at least do not sell on zomato if you cannot control quality.
Ordered Piza
You charged 253 for regular pizza
Even you do not feel it is important to warm it

Had visited this place once and so decided to visit the restaurant again today with my parents.

Ordered for a plate of cheese onion masala dosa and onion masala rawa dosa. The waiter did not convey anything when we ordered for food. We waited at the restaurant for almost 30 minutes from around 9.45 to 10.20, the food wasn’t served to us. I asked the waiter he said it will be shortly and 10 minutes past the food still don’t arrive.

Then, I questioned him firmly that it’s almost 30 minutes and the food hasn’t arrived. The waiter did not bother to reply well and walked away murmuring something like rawa dosa to which I assumed he might’ve said that it’ll take time.

The waiter did not bother to talk or even tell us that the food ordered will take time. I asked him to at least send in the cheese onion masala dosa but he just walked past.

So to no avail and the fact that my parents are senior citizens I had no option but to walk out of the restaurant without any food.

Horrible to the extent that if this is how you the staff treats the customers and lack the basic mannerisms to deal with customers then it is a sad state of affairs. As I’m sure the worse and best publicity of a place is mouth to mouth publicity to which I reiterate— DISGUSTING ATTITUDE OF THE WAITER.

So peeps hold on and decide which place one plans to visits in order to avoid being demeaned without information and where you’ll have to walk out of the restaurant due to the arrogance of the waiters and what more the family suffers too.

KESHU JAIN
among one of the best veg restaurant in ranchi. perfect for south indian food , vegetarian thali . clean and hygienic to be. highly recommended restaurant.
Amit Pal
This is a decent veg restaurant serving both north and south indian cuisine. Sitting area is small with no washroom. Waiters are laid back but food arrives rather quickly. We ordered crispy chilli babycorn and rawa onion masala dosa, both were good, price is little on the higher side but since quality of food is good so price doesn't matter. overall good restaurant for veg food in hinoo area...
Rupam Das
They have the best babycorn chili in town!😋
Overall the place is quite affordable and a goto place for local hangouts.
Only the service is sometimes a bit slow.
Nihal Pratyush
It's a great place to hangout with friends and family. Food quality and service is too good. The pricing is pretty less prior to the quantity of the food.
Ankur Raushan
Once upon a time when it was very popular for testy food but now I feel sad that no test and quality foods are there. I think they should think about it and need to improve their quality/test.
Vivek Kumar
I m a regular visiting customer of Chennai kitchen. It was my 1st time on zomato to order pre tasted spicy food from a known restaurant. I was slightly disappointed with the originality in taste in comparison to live experience
Deepak Shankar
visited this place couple of times with friends and colleagues. No problem of parking. Serves very authentic and yummy south indian dishes. One can also try thali, pav bhaji & chhole bhature. They are also very good.
Dilip Shukla
I ordered for a Thali with special request not to use ghee or butter the food was prepared accordingly and promptly without compromising with quality and taste The delivery boy did extra endeavour to reach me in a very zig zag street. Thank you Chennai Kitchen and thank you Zomato.
Ujjwal Gaurav
Never to order again from this restaurant. The way they deliver food. I wanted refund againt the order but this was a matter of food so left out. See gulab jamun mixed with vegetable. Rubbish packing of food i ever has seen ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️👎👎👎👎👎
Karan Kumar
Simple and nice place for vegetarian. Suitable for all time food.Nice service, hygienic, comfortable, home delivery is also good, Best at dosa and paw bhaji
Shwetank Sriwastava
I like dosa of this place. Few days back for the first time I ordered for home delivery.

Unfortunately the packing of the stuffs were not good.

So it's better that if you want to eat south Indians of Chennai Kitchen then visit the restaurant and eat don't go for home delivery
Shivam Chadha
Good for South Indian hunger, had been there long back and still feel like the taste of dishes. I don't know about present but it really served fresh and tasty Dosas.
Astha Rani
I have not visited this eatery in person.
Tried Home delivery.
Veg Hakka Noodles, Paneer Chilly Gravy, Veg Fried Rice. All were lip smacking! Pricing is economical.
I was bit skeptical at first, as to this restaurant specialises in south Indian dishes, but as soon as I had the first bite of above dishes, I was ecstatic with my decision!!
Keep it up team!
Ashwini Singh
This is located in the Hinoo locality has a wide list of menu's including pizza pasta thalis and South India too. And as far as my experienced is consider I say it's most suitable for South Indian food.
Manvee
Lil hungry after watching a movie...
It's awesome to have lunch together with family
So went to have some south Indian food which love to have in any occasions
Tried for 1st time
It has good interior and Nice ambience.
Many of item were not available at time
After ordering food, have to wait for long .
Quantity was less
Quality is OK
Lil disappointed with service.
N SP
Awesome south Indian taste.
You can go for any type of dosas.
You can also try Chinese cusine.
Must try. They are little slow some time but staffs r good.
Sushil Kumar
Rate charged not as per menu rate .it is really surprising. As per Chennai Kitchen zamato has uploaded own rates . His rate is other than menu uploaded by zamato. It is requested zamato to enquire and let me know the fact.
Tarang
The food is good, service is good too. The place is located ear the airport and they serve all kinds of cuisines. We took the thali and it was too much to eat for a single person.
Laraib
Its a nice south indian joint but very expensive.
The dosas were too oily and they give juat a morsel of chutney and sambhar just for a couple of bitez.
The sambhar was very bad similar to sambhar made by adding ready made mtr sambhar masala.
My mom makes more tasty sambhar.
Its just waste of money.......
Pallavi Raghuwanshi
Look out for worm surprise!!!
Lying in sick bed, after eating this food.
Found worms in the sambhar (pic attached) pointed to staff and got a very nasty reply. Wadra was uncooked from inside.
One of the guest entered with dog which kept barking.
Waiter never returned the change money....
I think owner must be selling stale food which he must be buying from other restaurant at lower price.
Oh Food
The best South Indian food I have ever tasted is here. I have been there a few times, and I think everything is near to perfect. The restaurant is famous for its South Indian dishes. The pink chutney, oh, you will want more of it. Try out all of the wide range of dosas they have in the menu. Because, all of them are just awesome. Not only do they specialize in South Indian, but also Chinese food. I really loved the baby corn chilly I had in here. The pizzas are not so good. The ambience is not so good. But, do visit it for the best South Indian dishes in Ranchi.

Chennai kitchen prepares amazing food but has a very uncooperative and downselling service staff.
I tried to order onion rawa masala dosa the waiter said not possible first then after requesting to check with the kitchen he came back with a reply saying it's gonna take 45 minutes or even more, hearing this we decided to order uttapam and to my surprise it also took 45 minutes for delivery to the table ( though the taste was amazing including their chutneys) and that too the restaurant had only 3 table waiting and rest was empty as in the picture.
Good food , slow and non co-operative service and front of the house staff.....
Nikhil Singh
Had been to this food joint a plenty of times during my trips to Ranchi.
Placed at quite a prime location next to Hotel Emerald in Hinoo.
Dosas being their USP, have got loads of variety in it which will really make your taste buds dance.
Though they have got other options on edibles, personally would advise for dosas only.
# Average Ambience
# Quick Service
# Ample Parking
# Average Pricing
# Loads of Variety for Dosa

Overall, good food and service at the subjected price tag.
Tashmeet Singh Bhasin
Earlier their service and food were awesome. I had food here many times before but today the service was very poor. We ordered rava masala dosa, masala dosa, paneer chilly, schewan dosa and onion uttapam. The paneer chilly was good. The uttapam was very thick and little burnt. The rava dosa was good. The masala dosa was great. The schewan dosa was ok. The sambhar was very cold which was main problem. The service was ok but not up to the mark as their was some specification in rava dosa which was done but was not offered to the desired person. Rest was all ohk.

Having stayed close to 8 years in South India esp in Chennai and Bangalore i'm quite familiar with south indian food , so decided to satisfy my dosa craving when suddenly discovered this place while driving back home to Harmu. Its in Hinoo, next to Emerald Hotel and Vodafone office.

I ordered Onion Masala dosa and Coffee. ( they also have some north indian items)

Dosa was crispy , but potato stuffing and Sambar were very disappointing, Tomato chutney was ok. coconut chutney was good.
Coffee was not strong enough .

Total cost - around 170 INR

Ambience is decent for small joint, have option for couple seater to multi seaters. They also have a TV , where channel keeps on changing with every other song.

service was quick and satisfactory.

Major Plus point - You can get a car parking in evening .

Verdict- You can go there if you are very hungry and do not want to eat very exclusive food , you are somewhere in the locality and have car to park .

Was in my hometown Ranchi so went to meet some of my old Vodafone colleagues at Mayfair Building..We decided to visit this place which is in the next building to Mayfair, the reason being we used to visit this place very often for our small get togethers..

The safest option here are south Indian, we usually use to have masala dosa, vada, idli, fried idli.. Other than the sambhar & coconut chatni they serve red chatni which is good..But, if someone has to exclusively eat south indian there are other good places in Ranchi.

The other items we have tried here is their chinese & starters like noodles, potato chilli, paneer chilli, mushroom chilli etc. This place lacks consistency in taste & everytime you go probably you will get a different taste..

The time taken for serving is also different & is completely dependent on the number of people dining at that particular time.. We generally used to go in the afternoon & were happy with the service but the day when we used to go in the late evening when they have more customers we used to suffer..

So, my rating for this place goes as below-

Ambience - 3/5
Food - 2.5/5
Service - 3/5

But still a nice place to go for if you have ample time :)
Akanksha Choudhury
Nice ambience... Friendly staff.. Nice destination for South Indian food lovers.. Must try white pasta.. Momos are quite disappointing... Pav bhaji and Chhole bhature are good... Hmm... A nice place to visit for a snack time.....
Shruti Prasad
A family restaurant. One of those places to come and have dinner with your family. I ordered a plate of medu vada- took extremely long time to serve. And once they did serve it, the vadas were really cold.
Tried a bit of Chole bhature and onion uttapam also. These two dishes were pretty alright.
Rohit Shaan
Masala dosas, Butter paper dosa was good, Shezhwan dosa was average, coffee was bad. Rates are okay. It's a small restaurant, clean and fast serving.
Shreya Sharan
Chennai kitchen is a favorite place to have a snack/dinner pre/post movies at the nearby Eylex or Fun cinemas. This place has one of the most amazing dosas with a variety rare to find in Ranchi. Apart from South Indian cuisine, it also has a delectable menu of Chaats. The ambience is good. Perfect for a snack with friends. The place is value for money along with a great service available.
Shubhrajeet Dutta
Loved the food and tries its best to keep the authenticity of the foods belonging to its region, and so the price according to it. Worth visiting and not as often as compared to other
Prakhar Maheshwari
Sometimes it's quite cheering after you find out a good restaurant to have your meal. This is one of them I have tried dosas vada, idlis they are heavenly because of the red chutney they serve. Idlis could be more soft. Momos were quite disappointing. But their Pav bhaji and bhaturas are nice. Servicing and ambience is above average.
Zainab Feroz
I used to go here frequently for South Indian and Chinese which was good. But I once had the thali which turned out to be so bad that I never stepped foot into the place again.
Update: Was crossing the place the other day and ordered the veg steamed momos . It was so bad I had to throw it.
Abhishek Singh
The place was very crowded when we reached there and that is understandable as the food was delicious and at a reasonable price. The staff was not as friendly as u expect them to be.
Aditya Verma
Food quality was brilliant. Ambience was great. It was clean and I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality south Indian food in Ranchi.
SIDDHARTH SINGH NEGI

Ayushman Arun
POOR SERVICE. Food quality is good, quantity is ok ok.. but the service is very poor.. I have come here for the second time.. and still the performance is poor.. Pathetic
Mayank Biyani
One of the best south indian restaurant in Ranchi. Cheese Dosa is my favourite over there! Overdose of cheese! The place should have been little bigger. Overall a good place!
Akshit Chawla
An average ambience but very quickservice and good quality food at economical prices and appropriate variety to choose from and not to forget was kind of the best dosa in Ranchi.
PC Sarkar
More of a cafe, than a restaurant. But friendly, bright, well cooked food, reasonably priced, good portions, friendly staff, and prompt service. What more can one ask for? The non-Chennai items are popular, and the Chinese as well as Punjabi Chole Bhature are well prepared. And that is no mean achievement!! Hinoo lacks good eateries. With the multiplexes around the corner, the place is sure to prosper!!
Anish Sinha
Good food , paneer chilli is awesome...must try! Good place if you want some south Indian food,
Moderate ambience , go with friends......you will definitely enjoy!
Kapila
This is a small outlet. Nothing like ambience. But the big spoon placed on the wall looks nice. This outlet is reasonable. Preparation is good specially for our aged teenagers the preparation is tempting. Everything is made very spicy and tasty. Very nearer to my home so many a times we have our family meals here.
Ankur Mohan
Great place to go for a quick bite.

The service is quite good as it is a small restaurant, and the waiters are polite. The food is good, though I've always eaten South Indian food here, for the name...but I'm sure the other cuisines will be good too.
