Ordered Egg biriyani, mutton biryani, Gobi fried rice, fish finger 🤞 Egg biriyani and mutton biriyani with their kuruma was ultimate Gobi fried rice - mild spicy feels good taste fish finger - was very good. Slightly taste the raw smell..otherwise overall a good experience..

I absolutely loved the mutton briyani and gravy combo at this place! The flavors were exceptional and left me craving for more. The mutton briyani was undoubtedly the star of the show, with tender pieces of meat perfectly infused with aromatic spices. The accompanying gravy added a delightful depth to the dish, enhancing the overall experience. On the flip side, the boneless chicken was a bit underwhelming compared to the outstanding mutton briyani. While it wasn't bad, it didn't quite match up to the high standards set by the mutton dish. However, this minor setback won't deter me from revisiting solely for the incredible mutton briyani. The ambience and service were commendable, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment to enjoy the meal, except that supervisor guy. Despite the slight disappointment with the chicken, the mutton briyani has left a lasting impression, and I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit to relish that outstanding flavor once again.

I loved the mutton briyani and mutton chukka combo at this place! The flavors were great and made me want more. The mutton briyani was the best, with tender meat and tasty spices. The gravy added depth to the dish. The white rice with chicken, mutton, and gravy was a fantastic non-veg meal along with prawn fry. The place had a nice atmosphere and good service for an enjoyable meal.

A pure bliss for non veg lovers. The board inside the hotel "No Vegetarian" shows their standard. We can feel the real taste of salem region.

Best option to have non-veg meals in Salem. It is like a old house modified into restaurant with lot of partition rooms. Their famous menu is kaadai biriyani and mutton biriyani. They had good variety of starters or side dish. They have multiple branches in and around Salem.

No words for food taste. We tried Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani, Chicken Rice, Kothuporotta and Chicken Lolipop. Food was So tasty and delicious. If u visit Salem must Visit here. I have tasted the food during the year 2008.After these years I got an opportunity to visit this mess to taste the food. Wow... Yummy food they are keeping the authentic taste forever. The difference is earlier they were in small shop, now without any change in the taste the newly built mess, ambience and the way the staff helping customer to get seated in the crowd time is much appreciated. Earlier after washing hands we use newspaper, now it's replaced with tissue papers. Again the food taste is outstanding, the cost as proportionate to these years. The street is unchanged with traffic issues. Even for small rain this gets flooded. People who travels through Salem, I recommend you to visit this mess once which is closer to the new bus stand.

Mutton Briyani: very decent one with boiled egg. I went almost by 10.45 on their closing time, but they were treated with the same level of welcoming. Really amazing way of gesture to treat customers, and also, briyani was hot on that time.

Despite the hotel's bustling atmosphere, it offered a diverse array of delicious cuisine. The catering service stood out, delivering exceptional dining experiences amidst the lively environment, making the stay enjoyable.

Parking your car would be a big challenge. The road is narrow and thr is a high possibility u will get stuck in a jam. Once u get a table u can expect fantastic food and good service by courteous staff.

Very good taste of all food items! Meals , chicken gravy , kadai gravy best. Some wait time to get seat. Car parking is hectic in that street, Pls park car in main road itself and visit hotel if possible.

Had big expectations after reading the reviews and yourubers videos but the food was only decent. It’s definitely not the best but very good food in the area.

This resturant is bit too hyped, briyani and parotta tasted just fine., Nothing too special abt it, the graves were very average. Brain roast was good.

Just been here enroute to Bangalore on our road trip. We had to get into the city (there is another outlet on the Chennai bypass?) to go here as this was the location being shown by google. It does look like a hygienic enough legendary place but by 9 pm when we reached there, they had run out of Biryani. It was bit disappointing. Especially so since the other dishes while good were not stand out. We might as well had these at any eatery on the way. We had the mutton chukka – good, chicken 65 – good, mutton and chicken kothu parotas (took a really long time) which were both ok in taste but mushy kind. The gravy that was served with it (unlimited) was not great. So we asked for raita. I found the place clean for a non-vegetarian place and the service was very courteous. But the price I felt was bit high.

Went for dinner while driving Car from Chennai to Cbe. Got to know the place is kind of famous, so kept going till we reached this place, though we were hungry. The hotel was crowded even after 9:30 pm. We took the inside dining area, which was not that neatly cleaned. It was dirty near the foot area.<br/><br/>Saw Biriyani being served and so eagerly asked for it, but got to know it for over. Not even Kuska was available, so went for Parotta. Then order Chicken 65, Brain fry, Chicken pichupotathu, Ghee Parotta, Kolambu kalaki and Egg fried rice.<br/><br/>Parotta and Mutton gravy given along with it tasted good. All sides were also good, tasted better than Parotta. Ghee Parotta was not completely cooked, little bit inside was half cooked. Rest all were good, Egg fried rice topped the chart. Everything is ok except the prices, as it seems a bit high for the quantity they serve. Place is very congested. Having more people at once being in a hurry to get seats. Apart from that the taste is really great, you can feel real chettinad.

Food is very delicious! It is a pure authenticated South Indian non veg restaurant suitable for chettinad food lovers ! Briyani is good bt spice level is little high oderwise food and service are good ! We can’t expect a high clas experience but still a must try place in Salem for the taste ! It is pocket friendly too !

the food is awesome but somewhat expensive.. your taste is great. nothing can beat your briyani👍 all your items can be considerably priced so you can sweep the entire crowd towards you .

I was recommended this restaurant by many when I first came to Salem and I would say it's definitely not worth the hype and serves average tasting food. It's just another normal mess with decent food. Good quality of food and a bit too pricey for the quantity served.

We ordered mutton chukka,chicken 65,idli,egg dosa,parotta and all items tasted delicious but highly overpriced as they are too much commercialized branch in last couple of years.

They have been in the business for very long and it’s a popular place for people who transit through Salem as it is very near to bus stand hope they could keep up their taste instead of changing it regularly.

Many recommend this restaurant...but was little disappointed...felt the briyani was little over hyped...we tried chicken briyani , chicken 65 , idli and fish curry...chicken 65 was really good but briyani was ok...fish curry was average ....

When you are around Salem area, check out this very popular mess which serves flavorful biryani and along with chicken- mutton and egg preparations for a pocket friendly price. Lunch time this small mess can be pretty packed and you have to wait for a table. If you are traveling towards Yercaud or Coimbatore then stop here for lunch. I liked their chicken 65 and biryani a lot. Not a fan of Kalaki omelette yet. The regular omelette is good. Service is very quick and helpful if you know the local language (Tamil). I will definitely visit again for that biryani and chicken 65 😍

So much of hype for Salem Selvi Mess for the biryani taste. Tried Egg Biryani which was very average in taste and Nattu Kozhi fry was cooked perfectly and tasted good. Biryani is definitely not worth the hype and it tasted very normal. 3* is for Nattu Kozhi..
