Review Flavors Of Tmh - Secunderabad

Vijay Krishnamurthy
Flavours of Taj Mahal - TMH is the restaurant in Taj Tri Star that serves the Tiffin, Thali and Ala Carte options. Thali is usually available for Lunch and dinner as well and used to be decent. I have tasted both South Indian tiffins and North Indian dishes here. Food is pretty decent and for those who are looking for only Vegetarian options, this is one good restaurant. During the evening, they used to serve snacks - Bajji, Bonda, Pakora. Tea and coffee also used to be good. This hotel has a good Ambience and atmosphere and is good for Kitty parties. Service also used to be good.

Went for a family lunch on a weekday. Ambience was good. Less occupancy. Staff was courteous. Service was good. Food was delivered in reasonable time. A far as taste is concerned, fried rice was good. Dum biryani was just ok, bottom part was burnt(vegetables). Paneer butter masala was ok. Tomato soup was good. Manchurian was a bit chewy. Gulab Jamon was good. Overall i would say go here for a relaxed family eating experience. Taste was average.

The veg thali especially is amazing for lunch....they have unlimited food offer for it.. served with a delicious ice cream at the end....must try for any veg lover. Rare to find such quality north Indian breakfast in Hyderabad.

The restaurant offers a pleasant experience with excellent taste. Don't miss the must-try Ghee Karampodi Idly, a delightful dish. The ambiance is enjoyable, creating a relaxing dining atmosphere. Moreover, the restaurant is less crowded, allowing for a peaceful and enjoyable meal.

The buffet standard has reduced over the years. The number of items in the spread has gone down drastically. Starters were minimal but tasty. Main course consists of different options to choose from. Desserts were basic.

One of he best restaurants in the city of Hyderabad located in secunderbad. Best hotel for the vegans as they doesn't serve non veg. The infrastructure is cool, food is delicious, well mannered waiters, super cool themes on the wall last but not least the food is delicious.

Good ambiance, neatly maintained restaurant, quality food but not tasty

Opted for buffet however it was served cold. When asked to serve hot the staff did not even respond. It was kitty party and the food was pathetic . Staff were not good enough. Never opt for buffet.

Went here (quiet randomly) today around 1 PM for lunch. The outlet was pretty empty and we were greeted by the staff gleefully.
The ambiance is decent, pale yellow lights and pleasant instrumental music in the background.
The service is quick.
We ordered HotnSour soup and Manchow soup.
(Latter was better than the former)
Skipping starters we ordered Adrak Paneer and roti's for main course, which was absolutely delicious. Thick creamy and rich gravy, soft paneer chunks, topped with ginger julienne. Flavourful Fragrant.
The quantity was more than sufficient for the two of us.
Overall, it was a good experience.
Ordered a plate poori korma via swiggy around 7.40am and got stale over night korma with foul smell. How can a reputed hotel can do this ?Its really disappointing when you pay 110rs per plate and end up getting stale food.

Called the place and it seems they are used to this type of irregularities ,As they started to play blame game on the chef and then the delivery guy and when confronted they admitted the wrong doing and offered a replacement ,But i lost the trust already and i strongly recommend not to order or dine in at this place . 0 rating

Used to go this place regularly, once in every 2 months. This time we went on a festival day, Holi. At around 1:45 PM we reached the place and ordered 2 Special Thalis and 2 South Indian Thalis.

North Indian offered Tandoori Roti/Naan and South Indian offered Puri. Puri was fresh and nice but Tandoori roti was Iike nothing less than a rubber. Had to chew to a good extent to get it swallowed down under.

We had to ask for Soup only then steward and the manager brought us soups which were part of the North/Special thali. It tasted fine, would rate 3/5.

North Indian Thali offered curries of Panner, Vegetable, Cabbage and Daal. When asked for Vegetable curry again steward brought Vegetable Kurma where we normally get it with puri/ rava dosa. Panner curry was really nice and paneer was so tender to cherish. Rest all of the curries I would just rate 2 out of 5.

South Indian Thali was offered with same curries except Panner curry. Rice was not hot either. Would rate 3 out of 5 for the curries.

North Indian thali was offered with Biryani. This tasted OK ok. As there was only little left over in the Biryani bowl when it was served. So as usual its not hot. Would rate it 2 out of 5.

Asked for papads and fryumps steward just brought 6 to 8 fryumps and 1 papad and dumped in a bowl. I'd just 1 out of 5 for it.

At last came the ice cream with fruits. There's nothing special about it. Would go for 3 out of 5.

Last but not the least, probably steward is not aware how to swipe the swiping machine. He made me swipe twice and only upon checking back there were 2 SMS's received from bank. I approached manager he then reviewed and gave me the extra amount in Cash.

Overall I'd say, don't keep any expectations before you get in and until you are done at the restaurant. Tastes is fine. It's a good vegetarian restaurant but getting downgraded year by year. If know a good mess then yes it is more or less the same.
Taste: 3/5
Ambience: 3/5
Worth of cost: little high.
Steward and Management: 2/5

I was looking for a place to have lunch and since the friend I was with is a vegetarian I decided to bring him to this place. I ordered a South Indian thali for myself and a Special veg thali for my friend.

The only difference among both is that the special thali has an extra tomato soup, dahi vada, raita, paneer curry and instead of puris it had Butter naan. All the five curries of both thalis are same.

Both the thalis tasted good and the service is also very efficient. It is located in the basement of the Taj tri star hotel on the Sarojini devi road and it has a very relaxed ambiance.

* BREAKFAST BUFFET REVIEW*

This breakfast buffet by TMH is hosted at Dakshin madappa's restaurant.

Priced at 205/- it's a great deal for your lazy days when you just want to sit around in a nice cozy place and eat good food.
The spread is predominantly South Indian with vadas, idli, pongal, upma and live counter fresh dosa.
3 varities of outstanding chutneys.
Poori and spiced parathas.
Fresh milk bread along with milk and assorted cereals, mini bagels, and souffle.

Everything was made fresh and hot. Special mention for the upma and pongal. I couldn't have enough of those.

Overall
Food 5/5

Service 4/5 (though it's mostly self service, they
failed to pick up our plates after we were done with our round.)

Value for money-5/5

*negative*

The mrp on the water bottle Was 20/- but they charged us 30/-. On confronting they said that is how much the restaurant has priced it at, which is technically illegal.
Flavours..
...Hardly Exist..

Been Here For Breakfast And its mere waste of time and money.
More than food, the service staff needs immediate training in "Hospitality". A roadside eatery is best than this so called fine dining restaurant ...

The server literally throws plate on our face..He will serve water on other side of our seat..Gets irritated for requesting 2nd serving of chutney and sambhar..

I ordered ghee karam idli, pongal vada and coffee. Idli was served with single chutney and sambhar in small katories..Idli didnt tasted great..Pongal was served only with sambhar, no raita no chutney..Pongal tasted awful..Only Saving grace is vada..

Utterly Wrong Choice For Breakfart..

Well not v happy with the ambience it's normal and ordinary....but this place with my regular visits off late has become close to my heart. Because it has a good balance of south n North Indian spreads in the buffets(lunch, dinner n breakfast) and it's a icing on the cake wen one is south Indian food lover n one is north food lover their buffet spread always helped us to reduce arguments for south over north n vice versa😉 and the taste and the quality they maintain has been good.
And unknowingly this bacame our place for birthday.. anniversary breakfast days...we love to start any if our special days or some leaisure days wid a breakfast buffet.
The pricing for the food and the ambience is totally justified.
In all always a good option in d city for veg lovers.
I am sitting in this restaurant and the staff here is expressing their inability to provide hot Sambar... I wonder how the kitchen here works.... Though the idly is good but would taste better with hot Sambar... Good food bad service

We got spl meals ordered for takeaway though the packing and quantity was good enough but taste v.normal and missed some items like papad, pickle etc. Tomato soup was filled with more bread crunches hardly we got only 4spoonful of soup . Sweet was kaddu keer, rasam and sambar tastes to be improved and dahi wada got very salty or u can say it stale,
North Indian dishes served was okay except Bendi masala, Overall lot of improvement to be made to make tasty food.
Thank you hope TMH will consider my review and imorove we are very regular customer of TMH abids their it's tastes me almost perfectly.
Abhishek Goyal
The breads, daal and aloo sabji are really good. The kebabas are well prepared. The biryani however is very disappointing. Good service. Normal ambiance.
Trivikram Kandhi
Visited this place for an early morning breakfast. This place used to be the Taj TriStar which was renovated and now a part of TMH. I am a regular to the TMH of Abids, so I am compelled to compare.
Unlike the Abids conterpart, it has a buffet breakfast. But I am disappointed with taste, when compared to their Abid counter part. The pongal is pretty good. The juices is also very good. I am very disappointed with the Puri, as the saag was not the same and okay. It is very good at the TMH abids. Menu is not great. Idly wada etc are good. Over all it's an okay food. The value of money is okay. But I would prefer to go for ala carte @TMHAbids rather than buffet. They also had a range of healthy options too, like fresh fruits, oats milk etc. But wait 🙄who is going to eat that in a restaurant - Not me🤒🤒🤒.

The ambience is superb. Service is okay.

No offense but I prefer to travel to TMH Abids for my breakfast.
DrVijay Prakash
Horrible service. Ordered rava dosa but brings ragi dosa. Before completing meals the finger bowls are given. Buttermilk is highly diluted and tasteless. Coconut chutney is like dish water.Coffee is served before idli/vada. There is no coordination between kitchen and serving staff.
Dosa and vada is ok taste wise but service is a let down. Not recommended for foodies.
Kiran Metpally
Ordered sambar Button Idly Vada combo for Rs.100/- & they gave good quantity of sambar but the items were in separate packets, sambar was more sweet than you expect. Would have loved it Vada was soaked

We were suggested to visit the restaurant by some one special , so I did and believe me,it was a disaster. In the morning the restaurant had hardly few guest when we entered . Ordered for idli , Masala dosa and Kadak chai, it took them about 20 mins to serve. But it was a disaster again. Idlis were uncooked and dosa was too soft; the coconut chutney was just made to fill the bowl. The idli and dosa were sent back to change but came back the same way and then we ordered rawa dosa assuming would be better but was a disaster-burnt from outside and uncooked from inside. So left it half unconsumed . Had just 2 simps of kadak chai another sip would have made me vomit.

Great food and ambience. Quality varies time to time. Weekday experience usually good but, on a weekend it’s more like an usual dhaba experience and clearly won’t get the Taj Mahal experience.
Sailesh Akella
A very random service, the waiter forgot an order and then had the odacity to argue that I did not order for the concerned dish. The served food also was cold and we had to request for hot sambar additionally. I would definitely think twice before coming here the next time.
Ankit Mehta
Ordered South Indian, very bad chutney, quantity is like you need to beg for more / extra bowl. This place has lost its mojo. Nothing to match its original taste and service. Looks like the management needs to rethink on the way they used to manage the restaurant during its old days. After the name change, things have gone from bad to worse. Hope to get better service and quality next time(only if I come back)
Sanjana Jain
Worst experience , I had a meals in that I found an insect and the management was very rude and not ready to apologize suggest not to visit the restaurant.
Yogesh Jariwala
Poor service and rude staff. They don’t serve items which are shown on the menu. Staff has a don’t care attitude and the ambience is also very bad

Very nice place. Nice ambiance. Decent quality of food. Not too spicy, very tasty. Preferably for vegetarians best place to try. Must try...

I actually liked the menu, I.e the varieties they tried. Almost of the items u may feel like to try it. And the food was really good and delicious. I gave 4.5 just for the feel sitting in a underground floor. Else no comments on the restaurant and food... Nice
Minnie
The food was average at best. The Bisibele Bhaath was an atrociously small quantity for the price. The Ragi dosa was decent but the paneer tikka was not cooked well. It was dished up raw and we had to send it back for further cooking in the tandoor. Kind of dull staff in there and if the restaurant is not full, it can really get gloomy.
CHIRAG
Soups are good as there is variety of flavours in it. Main course is little bit disappointing in taste. Best option available to eat a balanced diet food is through buffet lunch or dinner but tastes average. Overall out of 5/3.5 from my side
Chaitanya Tallam
Went to this place and was disappointed with the service. We went there around 3.45 pm and as buffet time was over we went to ala karte. To which we took a thali and asked them if we can get a starter. They first told yes and after 10 min denied it after we finalized on one. This was something annoying. Then coming to taste the south indian thali/ value meal we took was good. Rasam, sambar, tomato pappu/dal was very good. However the vegetable was not that good. Brinjal with gravy and fried potatoes sabji was below average. Rice and curd and papad were also served was good. However we asked for spoons and water then they bought it was something would not expect from taj Tristar. All in all ok experience. So 2/5 from me. However the time was over they were serving and with less enthusiasm that shloud not be a part of customer service is what I think.

Came here for Sunday morning breakfast. Ordered poori kurma, Mysore masala dosa, vada and ghee karampodi idly. Idly and poori was served rather quickly, both tasted good but were served cold which was a dampener. Then after telling the waiter to serve hot food, the Mysore masala dosa and vada were served piping hot. Mysore masala dosa was very good with aloo masala filling and ginger chutney. Vada was decent. They can improve service and see to it that food is served hot.

Locating the restaurant - Is quite easy.

Parking - Isn't an issue.

Good Things - Decent place for people who prefer pure veg restaurants.
No big wait time even without reservation

How's the food - Tasted a variety of dishes. Liked South Indian better than other cuisines. Decent taste, nothing extraordinary though.

What can be improved -
Service. On one occasion, staff misplaced the left over food parcel. Experienced similar laid back attitude by staff during the bill payment. Though there was an entitlement of discount for using a specific credit card, they did not extend it since I did not ask for it.
AC wasn't good. It was quite hot, especially if seated in the middle of the restaurant.

In order of priority - Food, Ambience, Service

Bottom Line - Food is decent, nothing else impressed.

Been for breakfast buffet. Decent spread- lacked eggs which is debatable. Pongal, Sambhar and coconut chutney were good. Wasn't impressed by other chutneys and rest of the spread as the freshness was not retained.
Karthik Dantu
Had breakfast today. Got a bad stomach since morning. Never going here again. Sorry.
Not recommended at all . Too much oil in dosas and I feel being a hyderabadi restaurant it's mandatory to atleast have good dosas
Aviral Kedia
Bad food. Just bad. Extremely oily Dosas. Parathas feel like chapatis. Coffee is watered down. Even the chocos in the breakfast buffet were not crisp. I also saw the waiter scratching before serving food. Never going back to this place.
Avinash Venkata
Easily the most hygienic and tastiest veggie restaurant in the city. The food is equally amazing and the service ever better! People there genuinely take an interest in serving you.

Not as great as it looks on the photos on Zomato. Very dimly lit and dull interiors. Service is average. Decor is pretty dull. Food is above average. The starters like veg manchurian are not consistently cooked. Undercooked in my visit.

Dessert called Hot Brownie with ice cream is good

Really have to liven up the place.
Amrit Bhagi
A fabulous vegetarian restaurant in Secunderabad.
The ever famous Taj Tristar. Any day, nothing much could go wrong with quality of the food or service.

Very neatly maintained, decent service and valet parking too.

North Indian dishes are not to be missed. None of them. Specially Paneer Tikka.

Chetana Didugu
Awesome...everything! They have everything. Everything I could ever ask for. Super gooey pizzas, sumptuous buffets, and really awesome North Indian food. What's not to like!?
Pradeep Srinivas
Food here has Excellent taste and there is variety in menu. I guess they have some of the best & experienced chefs in the kitchen. Definitely my number one choice for veg food. The ambience is also very nice. Some of the items though are overpriced.

Great Food, Great Tastes, Great Ambiance, Great Service, Good Location. Altogether It's Taj Tri Star. I really enjoyed this place with my family 3-4 times. It's really worth of price and Ratings. The pawn outside this restaurant is good too. Really good and should visit once if you are in Hyderabad.
Manoj Balakrishnan
I was at the restaurant today at 6PM with my family. I have been visiting this place since inception. I had asked for Less spicy "chole batura" and it turned out to be very spicy. When complained, no one really bothered. My kids coulnt eat a morsel. Later I asked for hot Idlis. I was served yellow...nay ...brown Idlis. Upon complaining the waiter agreed that they were bad. They had not charged for the Idli and made me feel that they have done a favour by not charging. For what I have observed over the years, except for a few staff nobody really bothers about the guest. They feel they are doing a favour by serving the guest. It was a sheer disgrace !! Never will I step into this restaurant who do not value customers. It show their attitude towards customer service.
John
Place looks decent but it's Filled with small cockroach roaming on spoons yuk..............................................................!
Siddharth Kvr
Good ambience . Great service . And most of all, good food. For Those who are new to this place The tristar executive thali is worth a try. South Indian items are better when compared to the North Indian ones
Lokesh Jain
Decent place in Secunderabad to have a good South Indian . Rasam idli was outstanding, uttapam good, idli & rawa dosa good . Service excellent. Aloo 65 was ok , didn't try North Indian
SACHIN DANDOTIYA
In the base ment of taj tristar hotel this is located..
Food is great you get nice south indian thali over here..
Thali has all the major things what you get and quality is superb..
Its reasonable priced and must try..

Since the Dakshina Mandapa was full on a Sunday afternoon , we decided to try out this place. They serve thalis as well. As one of the members had a kid who was eager to have some quick bites , we ordered one thali and the rest as ala carte. The thali service was one of the most awful that I had ever seen! No one came to ask for a second serving even after the meal was getting finished. All they asked was if there was a need for more naan and when the answer was yes , there were faces made. Worst of all , the naan which came in was different from what was served earlier. We had to ask for ice cream which was a part of the thali for at least 5-6 times. There was so much reluctance to serve in spite of an almost empty restaurant. At one point it felt almost insulting. We were too pissed off to even ask if it was a limited or unlimited thali...No one asked for rice. The even worst part was that of the dishes , 3-4 were milk based items. Curd , Raita , Butter milk and Dahi wada and a milk based sweet arghhhhhh...I wonder who designed such an intelligent menu.
Coming to the ala carte , the tawa masala pulao was simply awesome! Paneer dish and Dal makhani were very good too. We ordered a roti basket as well which had good varieties of rotis.
But good food coupled with disgusting service cannot get more stars than what I have given. The whole good food effect died down with the sickening service. Would think twice before visiting again.

It was good to have all those cravings on cold night ! I totally enjoyed ! I specially liked fruit sauces, black berry, kiwi, and many more ! The mango truffle was divine ! The barfi was delightful 😇

Great food!i had South Indian thali here and it is delicious! You must try! Yet to try other delicacies here like the dosa, vada ,idly, uttapam and a la carte

The restaurant is in the basement of hotel taj TriStar, pure veg, I had breakfast here and it's really good, from fruits to idly-dosa to paratha to sandwich , lot of options for veggies.
Sudha Spandana Vaidyula

The morning breakfast buffet , the afternoon n night buffets and also the high tea buffet. Loved every thing. And Also a very good place for the family get togethers.

Galaxy restaurant is inside Taj Tristar and I have heard from my Hyderabad friends that it is indeed one of the value for money go to breakfast restaurant for sure in the city. This restaurant turns multi cuisine restaurant at dinner time.

Ambiance – This restaurant has really good ambiance. Orange and other colours theme adds the power to the ambiance. There are many tables with some having sofa sitting as well. So I do not think there would be an issue with seating capacity. Spread of breakfast is nicely kept on various sections. This has two entrance. One for guests staying in hotel and other entrance from outside for customer who are not staying in hotel. One big round ceiling with yellow-orange colour adds the punch element with nicely kept big vase at centre.

Food – Since we went there for breakfast, this review is purely for breakfast and we have not tried anything apart from it. A range of spread is kept for breakfast.

They have many varieties of south Indian spread as well as English spread. There were Idlis of course which was soft and fresh hot. Live dosa added with ghee was very delicious. Every time when we asked for dosa, chef got the perfect texture on dosa every single time correct. Same for the Uttappa. Kudos for this. They have muffins, yummy Danish pastry, Parathas with pickle, soft croissant, bread (sadly when we asked, there was no whole wheat bread) which you can toast, butter, delicious homemade jams – mix fruit and orange, chutneys – coconut /green/ tomato which were really tasty, hot puri-sabji, mendu vada, buttermilk, hot / cold milk, oats, corn flakes / chocoes, cut fruits, mango juice / grapes juice. Gosh, they had so many varieties that I cannot even remember.

I have purposefully split the line here and want to mention tea. Those who prefer strong tea with milk, they make bloody really awesome tea. One of the best tea I have ever had in any restaurant. Just ask for sugar cube if you want to add more sugar. What an awesome tea that was. I am still missing that taste.

Service – It’s a breakfast spread so it’s a self-service. Though if you ask they will surely get you on your table. Staff is humble and polite.

It is 100% value for money breakfast spread. I definitely recommend having breakfast here if you are around this area.

Absolutely love this place. The ambience is nice, staff very nice indeed and the food is perfect for the price. Good, wholesome vegetarian food from Puris and made-to-order dosas to paranthas and vadas, this breakfast buffet is ideal for meetings or early brunches without burning a huge hole in your pocket. Galaxy Coffee Shop is ideal for meet ups with colleagues or friends. I'm quite fond of this place since I was 12 years old. :)

This place is one of our families regular for almost 14 years now. Every time we go, we come out with a smile. Great food with great service.. Keep it going..

My friend suggested it for Chola Batura, which tasted absolutely nice. I then tried the pasta, which wasn't great. It took a while for the staff to get the bill. The ambience is ordinary. If you are visiting, do try Chola Batura.

Went with four friends on sunday ..the menu was Decent even the ambience too, u can only find veg items..... I lyked only Indian menu...got disappointed after having croissant and danish pastry, I would say they were completely tasteless. The service was good but what matters me is food...

On Mar-2018: HYGIENE EQUIVALENT TO THAT OF A ROADSIDE CAFE. It is sad to see how the management cares a damn about customer's review here. NEVER USE THEIR FINGER BOWLS as they do not wash them. They simply empty the bowl into a jug and send them back to the table. And they do this right at the serving station. I have to give it to their courage to do it in front of the customer. Further they clean their table with "stinking" cloths that makes the table reek of garbage smell. And when you complain to the Captain or waiters they just care a damn. Sad to see one of my favourite places becoming a ROAD SIDE CAFE.
ON 2010 : PEACE AT LAST :)
True to its name, it is a Galaxy far far away. Once you enter the worm hole, you get sucked into a vaccum of space away from the noisy world. Probably the only serene place in Secunderabad. It is the better of the two restaurants which Taj Tristar has. Its basically a hidden place and practically has a lazy, soothing and peaceful ambience. Perfect for escaping from the world for some "me time". But the food is just good. This was the main reason why the rating dropped to 3.5. South Indian tiffins and Tandoor items are safest bet. The assorted pakodas are the best item on the menu In any case, go here to grab a newspaper and a peaceful coffee. As a fan of this place, kindly go here with a promise that you wont make noise. PLEASE DONOT KILL THE ONLY PEACEFUL PLACE IN SECBAD ;)
Saibal
If there's nowhere to lunch, then there is a galaxy of dishes to choose from in Galaxy coffee shop. Been a veggie, I prefer the veg section on the ground floor and I must say that the service along with the served menu is not bad at all. Good ambience and at reasonable price is all what you can ask for on a hot summer day. However its still not the best around. There is still scope of improvement, though.

Been here for sometime. i felt service is not that good. Taste was good. Ambience was ok. Seating was also good :) Being a coffe shop i feel they could have included different varieties of coffees here. :)

Nice place with peaceful ambience.

We went there in Sunday evening by chance. Well at that time it was deserted. Soft music was playing which was adding to the soothing environment of a coffee shop.

We ordered hot brownie with vanilla ice cream. We were expecting sizzling brownie but disappointed to get brownie with icecream in a tray. OK type dessert.

Waiters are well mannered and service is good.

Good place for discussion or formal meets...
Evenings and brunch time when other places don't serve food this is a very good place to go....

Ideal for early morning business meetings and kitty parties.. The buffet breakfast is priced very reasonably and it includes a decent fair. Dosas to wadas to sandwiches, they've got it all.. Can visit this place once in a while..

One of the better Veg. restaurants in Secunderabad area that use less oil and don't burn dosas. Decent ambience, good quality South Indian food, especially the
dosas- masala, palak, plain, corn, et al. For lunch or dinner, do not forget ordering Pahadi Dal with roti or jeera rice. Other stuff worth ordering - Subz biryani, pakoda basket, jeera aloo (made to order, not on menu), North Indian thali. Also, one of the few places with Buffet breakfast till 11.00am and Chat buffet from 4.00-6.30pm.

You'd rather go hungry than eat here. Poor lethargic service, way below average food, ambience is extremely boring and it's not very pocket friendly too. Many other places in the vicinity where you can go!

I visited this restaurant on a weekday for dinner and after going through elaborate menu we ordered Tawa Masala Pulao which is listed as the signature dish for the restaurant. The pulao served on a Tawa with small radius, so you can imagine the serving portion very little not even sufficient for single person. It was served with Curd, which is watery and this is not expected from the Taj Tristar stable. But the Pulao tastes awesome. Serving time is very fast, further we ordered MLA Dosa which is nicely roasted and the stuffing is very good. Sambar tastes authentic.

But, the quantities they are serving for rice dishes the prices are astronomical and the management should review the portions of the dishes.

Went to Taj Tristar after a long gap and was pleasantly surprised at the much needed facelift it got! The exteriors were beautified and so were the interiors by making it bright and neat. Although it is a multi-cuisine restaurant we have always associated Galaxy @ Taj Tristar with tiffins and mostly ate idli, vada, dosa and uttappam here. Recently been here for dinner and ordered soups, pasta, pakoda platter and brownie with icecream other than the usual tiffin items and loved every one of them.

The harabara dosa which had pudina and spinach paste spread over the dosa along with some good amount of idli karam giving it the needed salt and spice over that bland-ish paste was very tasty. While I loved the dosa the sambar and chutney were not the best I've had.

Kids had pasta florentine. This was penne pasta tossed with creamy spinach sauce. With all the cream in it, it tasted heavenly and my kids licked their plates clean! We also got the button idli vada combo for kids. Very few restaurants have button idlis and galaxy is one of them and the good part is you can order button idly and vada as one dish.

The pakoda platter consisted of assorted bajji's like aloo, onion, cauliflower etc. They tasted good with some chat masala sprinkled on top but I would have liked a bit more crunchiness on the outside. They served this with mint and tamarind chutneys.
For dessert we had icecream with brownie. Loaded with nuts the brownie was so rich and delicious it tasted yummy.
Service was a little bit slow especially towards the end when the place was full but other than that it was good.
Folks looking for a veg restaurant in this area can try this place. The menu is not fancy or exhaustive but has a little bit of everything you can expect from a multi-cuisine restaurant. A total VFM place.

A good vegetarian restaurant. The ambience was good and the service was pretty decent. We went for a special south indian thali. All the items on the menu right from the welcome drink, starters, main course to the desserts everything were pretty good. Good place for a vegetarian. Completely worth the time and money. Good one.

Ended up eating here only coz there was a large waiting list for their main restaurant Dakshina Mandapa & boy was I glad it did!

Their NI Special Thali was finger lickin' good. Thick tomato soup with buttery croutons & a dollop of cream followed by a wholesome Thali comprising Naan/Puris, four wet curries, two dry fries, sambar, rasam, dahiwada, couple of chutneys n pickles, kandi podis & Biryani. Finished off with fruit salad & ice cream.

Identical to other NI Thalis at Minerva, Chuneys or Kamat but the taste was surely better than the others'.

Place has a coffee shop feel & was half empty when we entered. Service was courteous & prompt. Folks had the South Indian Thali & that was good too.

SI Thali was 160 incl. taxes & NI Thali was 195. Only sour note was they charged 40 bucks for bottled water which I expected to be on MRP.

Would love to return sometime and try out their tiffins & a la carte menu.

The best place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Anytime I went, they treated me well. Food was delicious, no matter what i ordered. There always will be some guy taking care of your needs without invading your privacy. It is a very serene place. If you have any problem with food or anything, just tell them. It will be sorted out soon. I have been going to eat here weekly since 10 years SO I can vouch for it...

One of my favorite places to visit every time I come to Hyderabad. Still one of the best places for dosas. My favorite is the onion rava dosa and pessaretu. This is a rare treat for me as few Indian restaurants in the US even offer this on the menu...the few that do don't come close to TAJ TRISTAR quality. coffeshop also offers north Indian fare and some Indo-Chinese cuisine. Staff is very attentive and service is fast. Seating is good. Very moderate prices. Excellent value for the money.
