Review Jackie's Patisserie & Cafe - Secunderabad

Sneha Panda
This is probably the most underrated place in Hyderabad. The food is extremely delicious.😍 So, me and my family reached this place and no other customer was there. We were a lil skeptical about it but after 20 mins people started coming. Talking about the food, there wasn't a single dish which wasn't good. EVERY DAMN DISH WAS COOKED SO DAMN WELL! TASTED SO HOMELY AND DELICIOUS! I'm literally drooling over every dish I ordered. I ordered crispy corn, chicken spring rolls, loose fried prawns, ginger chicken and veg fried rice. Crispy corn was totally the USP of this place. It tasted amazing! It was crispy and flavours were so perfectly balanced.👌 Chicken spring rolls tasted divine with red dip🌟. Veg fried rice and ginger chicken were balancing each other's flavours. They were perfect when served together.💯 Loose fried prawns were a surprise. I don't usually like prawns but this had my heart.❤ The people were very kind and sweet there. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the service time but the food was expectionally well and this is the reason why I'm rating this place 5/5. Totally worth paying a visit.💜

By far one of the best cafés I've been to! A quiet and beautiful place! So far only had the dessert, a fried ice cream, which was by far the best I've ever had! Cannot wait to try out other amazing Anglo cuisine!

Really good place for authentic Anglo Indian food, bonus - they have beef
Sai Prakash
The place is really good for the the Anglo Indian food they serve. A perfect blend of taste, decent ambience and hospitality. They treat you like your own and take great care. Loved the food. The patisserie isn't really active. Worth the visit if you're in for some really good food.

Jackie's place makes you feel so homely. The essence of the place lies in how she personally cooks for the customers and suggest her chef's special all the time. The crispy corn served and the crab soup served are so unique and delicious. Even the rice and noodles offered are made in so less oil without compromising on the taste. The place reminds you of an old English era

An Excellent Anglo Restaurant, with a right ambience, Not a crowded place.. Try from their Menu, Meat Cutlets, Thai Pie Chicken, Honey Spice Prawns, Ginger prawns, Shanghai fish, Crab curry, and a lot of Chinese recipes as well. A Good place to hangout with family.. I give 5/5 rating. This restaurant opens by 11am and closes by 10.30pm

Nice food , just simply delicious love the Anglo Indian food the people there are extremely friendly. You should definitely try out the burnt garlic noodles simply the best , has a homely feel to the restaurant . When I go there I get reminded of my home in Kerala

The hidden jewel in the city of Gems. You are welcomed with the warm smile of a lady who is all in all. Perfect peaceful ambience , not crowded most of the times . Peaceful with old school music and some painted walls. The food here is “just amazing” . Just go with the chef’s choice and they give you the best . Never will you regret going to this place .

One of the best food joints in Hyderabad. Anglo-Indian cuisine and serves awesome stuff. The owner, Jackie is a very hospitable person and she's also a good chat company.

The Food is very Tasty!! I Love spending my time being there because of the ambience, the cuisine is authentic and the people who own it are fabulous Go to Jackie's to eat scrumtiously

Best place to have American cuisine
Saugata Chowdhury
Good Chinese and Anglo-Indian food restaurant. It's run by a lady who is very interactive and would customise food as per your taste
Premson Rodriguez
The one and only place for Anglo cuisine, they do serve Chinese too, if you are foodie you must try this place out.
City Ordinary
The place maybe good on other days but think twice before placing your Christmas orders here. Extremely unprofessional behaviour from the owner who did not hand in the asked order on time. We asked for liquor cake and rum balls nearly 2 weeks before Christmas. On the day we were to pick and were enroute (after making payments) she arbitrarily announces no rum balls. We still went in thinking to get a refund for balance amount, however she hands us a plum cake which wasn't even ordered! We didn't want to argue and asked for a refund to which she rudely stated she has no change and how she is pre occupied and busy with bigger orders. If bigger orders is this shops concern they must mention that instead of duping customers. Now I'm with some cake which is not even up to bill amount. Think twice before investing in it

A gem I wld say!! Firstly it is hard to detect u cld call them for this. abt ambience they have English country music playing all the time and lighting and seating with that music gives us unmatched vibes!! Feels of old English movies!! Can't express! But their usp is the food man!! From soup to starters to main course mainly Chinese every thing was sooooo good pricing and quantity will make u go crazy believe that!!!! A must must try

I visited this place in the starting days of it's opening. There are not many reviews then but I was attracted to its menu very much, sounds too Chinese.
Food Hunters
When you open the door to Jackie's, what hits you first is the smell of food, which is the defining smell of Jackie's. You have absolutely nothing to complain when the amazing food comes with an amazing host. I have tried only a fraction of the menu. The Chicken Drumsticks along with a tiny bowl of sauce is the best Fried Chicken that I have ever had. We had not pre-ordered Anglo Indian food, but we still got to munch on some delicious Cutlets. How is the outer layer that crispy and fine? I was awestruck by the taste of these cutlets.
I will make it an aim in life to try every Anglo Indian dish that this place has to offer before I die (and if I am in Hyderabad). Head out to Jackie's for some delicious food.
Ananthu Roy
A small rustic place with an amazing host and really great and tasty food... All the dishes we had were really tasty... Will recommend for everyone who wants to have good food and will come back for sure...
Hidden Gem in Secunderabad for Anglo-Indian & Chinese Food. It’s a small place with very simple decor. Host Jacqueline Nicholas was very courteous and sweet, makes you feel at home and the Food hit all the right notes. They have a great spread ( PS: if you have any Anglo Indian requests you need to inform them 3 hours in advance ) . I had Chicken Momos too but forgot to take a picture, very tasty and FRESH !! As we didn’t inform in advance we had Chinese , the meat was of top quality. Chicken Cutlets are absolute winners , they beat Galoutis too. Next time planning to call and go to explore the various on order out of menu stuff ! Double thumbs up. Only downside is the decor, you won’t bother about it once you start eating, trust me on it :)

Its a great compilation of super delicious food and amazing ambience. 😍 Totally loved it and will definitely visit over and over again!!!!!

I have been to ching lin, I have been to bowl o china and chug hua as well, but this restaurant is something else. I saw good reviews about this restaurant and was planning to visit and today was the day I visited. By ambience it was old school but the background music and the way restaurant owner aunty takes care of her visitors is really heart warming. Food was very good and it is the most underrated restaurant. Please do visit the restaurant you are sure to have a great evening. REMEMBER to carry cash as their is no other payment mode. Totally "loved it"

I went searching for this place on Sarojini Devi road and it proved a bit difficult as it is located in a small lane backside of Havemore restaurant on the first floor. After reaching there we found no one inside the restaurant and luckily for us the lady who runs this place showed up just when we decided to leave.

We wanted to try the Anglo-Indian dishes on the menu but they are available only on Pre-order at least a day earlier. She suggested us to try "Honey chilli prawns" and they tasted awesome where the prawns are not overtly fried crisp and there is a perfect balance of flavors.

Next we ordered a Schezwan mixed fried rice and ginger chicken. The ginger chicken once again was awesome with slightly smoked flavor and consisted of very little gravy. The only dis-appointment was the fried rice as it was very dry but over all a great culinary experience.

This is a very pathetic cafe. I am writing this review so that no other customers face the same issues.
The quality of food is not good.
The service is not at all prompt.
The owner and staff members are completely rude and arrogant.
And on top of that, they refuse to accept payments through zomato and dineout.
They forced me to withdraw cash and pay the bill through cash.
Pathetic service !
Anjali Goyal
Worst Cafe I have ever been too. They have no facility whatsoever. Everything you ask for is unavailable. Furthermore, they don't accept dineout or zomato payment and forcefully take only cash from you. No hygiene, bad hospitality. Pathetic!

One word to say ...delicious . I highly recommend all go here . The place looks decent with friendly staff . The main lady of house is so good to help u in ordering the best out of menu

A colleague had been insisting us to try out the food here. So we ended up here on a Friday night. No wonder why she has found her space in the city in this restaurant!
A very homely place where food is cooked with love. We ordered Honey Prawn Chilly, Kung Pao Chicken, Meatball Curry and White Rice.
Honey Prawn Chilly: Fresh prawns with correct amount of crispiness and amazing taste!! A must try :)
Kung Pao chicken: Again, correct level of crispiness (they know what customers want) with really good taste.
Meatball Curry: Some really sublte main course which makes you realise that food can be tasty with less spices and loads of love.
So overall, a very good place with good music and amazing food.
P.S. My menu for next two visits is predecided. Ginger Crab and Anglo Indian food.

Brilliantly cooked prawns and soft noodles, accompanied by a generous host, makes the experience worth its while.
Their honey chilli prawns is the best prawns you'll find in the city.

Bland tasteless rice combo that was suggested in the menu.

Quaint clean restaurant, takes you back to the Good Old Anglo Indian days , when Secunderabad was the ever lively place.
Awesome Chilli Beef and have ordered Anglo Indian Chicken curry for Lunch.

It's was a summer afternoon and decided to take my neice and nephew for lunch so the zomato guided us to the nearest place to have some good stuff was this ususual very non typical restaurant type eating joint called the Jackie pastries.
Once inside we were received with warm welcome and all smiles that made us feel that we were not out of place.
Once settled we left our taste buds to the owner n sked he to recommend her best dishes n for our surprise we were asked if we prefer beef n yes was the instant answer as it is rare to get one good dish in secunderabad.
We were served with starters like beef fry chicken kimpau fish fry sticks and everything we tasted had a the chef signature.
The main course was burnt garlic fried rice n it took me with a surprise as never tasted one till date n it was really tasting good as well.
The chocolate fried ice cream was the one that settled a good meal at ye end.
So over all it was a nice place to enjoy some family time with good food n classic English songs in the back ground.
Thank you to the chef for the lovely time we spent with u.
Regards

What a horrible experience!

We have ordered veg Chinese choupsey and guess what we had on our plates "Chicken Chinese choupsey". I specifically mentioned that our table is vegetarian and this happened.🙄
Highly Disappointed !!!
This place is the go to place for any foodie 😋 the quaint ambience, delicious food & the pleasant music makes it one of my favourite joint for Chinese food in the twin cities. The prawn pakoras, the chilly chicken, crab curry, mixed fried rice are some of the dishes I really enjoyed. Not to forget the chicken & mayonnaise sandwiches that are absolutely out of this world. They have an exhaustive menu & serve very generous portions. The reasonable prices make you wonder if you really can get such yummy food for the amount you pay .Bang for the buck in every sense of the word.Want to visit it more often & taste their Anglo Indian delicacies. Kudos to the owner Mrs.Jaqueline who is a warm & gracious host 👍🏻👌🏻😊

Good food. Homely ambience. Good ole retro music. Jackie is a wonderful host. This place is a must visit. A place where you can relax for hours.

I feel lucky to have discovered this place. One of the top restaurants I’ve been too lately. The hosts where welcoming and I was overwhelmed with their hospitality. Couldn’t have asked for a better start for this year. Surely, I will be visiting this place on a regular basis. Overall a must visit place.

Great place good food great hosts.

Homely place with lovely hosts... Only tried the chicken momos and some cold coffee which were delicious. However intend to visit again to try out a lot more! Marissa Manavalan Dsouza

Not sure how this wonderful restaurant remains unnoticed in the comfort of a bylane. Have visited this place a couple of times and have always left this place full and satisfied. The hosts are warm and courteous. The music is simply perfect. The place is never crowded and is the right place to have a nice family time or just a good conversation with your friends. The ambience is nothing extraordinary or unique but is an escape from the noise and clutter of the outside world.

Must try is their Chinese. Their soups are also perfectly made. The chicken manchuria is my favourite. It is more like a homely place more than a commercial restaurant that we are so used to. Will surely keep going back.

Appreciate the effort taken by the couple and keep spreading a smile and leaving people happy and satisfied.

Food- 4.5
Ambience- 3
Service- 5

When you come from a hard day's work to a place where you are greeted with genuine smiles and delicious food. Your day is made. That's exactly how I felt when I first visited Jackie's. Amazing food. Friendly hosts and a homely ambience secluded from the noises.
I had the chicken fried momos and chicken soft noodles with strawberry shake. All of them were yummy!

What luck to bump into this place!
While we had our training session going on, we found this cafe and thought of giving it a try. You won't be suprised by the interiors 'cause it isn't much fancy or something but I bet you will definitely return once you've been here.

Service - perfecto! The hosts, Jackie and Max, are two wonderful people who make it so warm, friendly and homely out there.

Ambiance - Nothing fancy as I mentioned earlier but the place is so peaceful with posters of all legend singers of 70 and 80s and the BEST playlist you will ever listen to! (I did steal it, yay! :D )

Food - I personally enjoyed the food so much. We ordered Ginger chicken, garlic burnt noodles, and Hot shredded chicken with boiled noodles and they all were delicious. Also, the quantity they serve is super in comparison with the price they charge.

A big big thumps up from my side. Definitely many many visits again!
Chris Abhishek
Both Jackie and Max are the sweetest people out there. Make you feel home! You can dance all out. Can sing (karaoke)... And very reasonable pricing. Should try out the cakes they've got.

It's been a while since I've written a review, and that's probably because restaurants have become just that - Restaurants. You order, you eat, you pay up, you leave. And then, I found Jackie's. I missed going there twice because of their evening break from 4pm to 6pm. Third time lucky and I am blown over. This was special occasion and I was not disappointed choosing this place. Quaint, amazing familial vibes, and the most nostalgic choice of music. I go to a restaurant and I'm usually thinking to myself - who do I ask to turn down the damn volume. This was just right, almost perfect. The owners are hands on, helped us find our way around the elaborate menu, and we were right to heed their suggestions. Shangai rolls and fried icecream. The rolls were consistent and just melted away before you could realize and the fried ice cream was one amongst the best in the few choices we have in hyderabad. A thick roasted crust, generous helping of chocolate sauce, largest single scoop of vanilla icecream I've ever seen and loads of nuts, this was a bomb! It looked like one too. I'm definitely going back here, and this is hyderabads hidden gem. Thoroughly impressed. Keep up the good work :)

It was sheer serendipity that led me to this place. Its a cozy and warm place located in a perfectly accessible space. The owners are absolutely one of the warmest people I have ever encountered. They serve you food with so much love and check upon you multiple times! Their momos are to die for. And so is their lemon tea. Also had ginger prawns which tasted absolutely amazing! I rarely write reviews on zomato. But had to do it for the amazing experience I had there!

Simply great food. Extremely warm customer service. A great place to have a lovely meal with someone close. Especially if you have a liking towards some authentic Anglo cuisine, this is a must visit. Really affordable and in the heart of the city with easy parking.

Awesome place to have authentic anglo indian dishes. Roast chicken 😋 and momos are my favorite. They have karaoke too.I have been there many times for some nice time. The prices are really affordable. Jackie and Maxx (owners) are an awesome couple who serve you food with immense love. this is a must go restaurant if your looking for a non - main stream sort of restaurant.

Not easy to find and no parking. Excellent food. Jackie and Max are perfect hosts. The roast chicken and ball curry and rice were delicious. This was really good hospitality. Very reasonably priced. Next time it will be Chinese food.

Hidden gem in Hyderabad. Had chicken monos, garlic burnt chicken rice and a chicken starter. Delicate flavours and yummy taste. 5/5 for the food. Loved the service and the choice of music playing in the background..

Those juicy Momos!! I never order Momos at restaurants in hyderabad... bad experiences... but Aunt Jackie said "you'll see" so I thought why not! And boy! Spot on! So the next time i went i took my family... ordered in a couple hours ahead......chicken momos- as expected! Roast chicken with veggies was simply beyond expectations... and the fish curry And rice.... soul food!!! Prawn pulav was perfect! I strongly suggest you call in a few hours ahead and then go.... you won't be diappointed! It's not very often your satisfied with evvverything they serve you without burning a hole in your pocket. The ambience is good too!! It's not a restaurant.. it's like your a guest at your neighbours place... so dont expect anything fancy. Uncle max and Aunt Jackie are wonderful people cooking some fabulous food! We had a great time!
Maya Vivek
Go with an appointment if you want Anglo cuisines. Otherwise you will have Chinese and Thai. Food is really good and the owner herself helps you with choices. A warm experience and not a regular hotel experience. Go for a leisurely café experience. Parking may be an issue. However you can park by the road on the lane adjacent.
Vamshi Krishna
A great place with some wonderful food and very sweet hosts. Would love to visit them frequently. Loved the Momo's and the Burnt Garlic Fried Rice. The Lemonade was right in the flavour and lastly the fried Ice Cream was yummy......

Sometimes you come across a place like this by accident and you wonder why you never saw it before. Tucked into the Mohammed Ali & Sons complex on S D Road, Jackie's Patisserie is a neighborhood gem. It's the kind of place we have been looking for in a long time.

Most would be more than happy with the Chinese menu but we are partial to Anglo Indian specialties that Jackie & Max put out with so much enthusiasm. If Cliff Richards, Shakin Stevens and The Everley Brothers mean anything to you then this might be your kind of place. If a good meal means Ball Curry & Coconut Rice or Mutton Chops or Roasts then this is most definitely your kind of place.

The Ball Curry & Rice is their signature dish and is highly recommended. I was told that they also serve an English Breakfast - definitely on my bucket list. In addition to the main entrees Jackie also serves sandwiches, cup cakes and an assortment of short eats. The prices are very reasonable and the ambiance is homely. If you are in the Secunderabad area, you owe yourself a visit to this place on S D Road.

Highly recommended.

Yummyy vala place ! Before visiting this place I was not a fan of Brownies and cup cakes . Visited this place for just giving my taste buds a different pleasure and seriously after visiting this place things have changed whenever I have to send some sweets or cakes to my dear ones I zero down to Jackie's . :) :)
You have try her special item - Shepard's pie(only made on special order)

Newbie Tip: Try n spend sometime chatting with Jackie as well... Ull njoy the experience :))

I ordered it on Swiggy

Dragon Chicken

So good so good, kya bolu. It was so different and tasted so good, I just couldn't help refilling my plate with the same again and again.

Hot Sauce in Boiled Noodles
This too was one of the most different dishes.
The sause is served seperately and is not too hot, it's a little on the blander side.
The boiled noodles will have a dash of spring onions to make it look good.

Oh, I wonder why this place has such a low rating. It needs more.
(I hope they maintain the same high standards and are consistent with what they are offering)

Later Addition

Chilly Chicken with bones
Guys you've got to try this. The chicken is so juicy and so well made it should be their signature dish on Swiggy. It's mouth watering good. Make sure you ask for with bones. Can't miss it, should not miss it.

Amazing Anglo food
Recommended for all those who love Anglo food..
Their Chinese too is also recommended.
Loved their starters as well....
Their coconut rice and ball curry is a MUST try :)

Jackie's has become quite a popular diner in secunderabad. The fact that they serve authentic angoindian cuisine is reason enough to visit this cute little restaurant. I've had parceled food from here and I must say it reminded me of my childhood, spend at all my angoindian friend's homes with curry rice and a variety of meats.
I finally decided to visit them for lunch and what pleased me most the warmth of the hosts Jackie and her husband. Remember for a good angoindian meal call and order in advance... It's best eaten fresh made. I had a wonderful Thai curry and rice followed by some good green tea. Wonderful meal that was perfectly served by our host, Jackie, who also filled me in on the what goes into the making of the meal etc.
I will not hesitate to recommend everyone to visit this lovely place.
Ram Kiran Vatturi
A horrible experience here..Reached at 2.30 in a famished state and told that Anglo-India menu items were not available. One said "madam not well" , other said "need 3 hours prior intimation".
Ordered Thai green curry and got a Palak curry with rice full of Paneer !! Horrible taste. We ordered Egg fried rice and this had more egg than rice in it. Decided never to return to this place which nothing but a house turned into a diner.
Rajesh Dash
Went here after I got to know of the place from a post. Good food, and great hosts. Jackie and her husband run the place with a lot of personal supervision and attention. The place is just a few months old and getting customers by word of mouth publicity (this is probably the first review). They don't have a full fledged menu yet so we tried their Chicken Momos, American Chopsuey, and Ginger Prawns. The Momos were very well done and so were the other items. Got a Plum cake packed (its yummy). Jackie said she does a variety of cup cakes, brownies, and plum cakes. Her specialty is Shepherd's Pie which she makes on order. She also makes a lot of Anglo Indian dishes (if you call her in advance and order). If you are in Secunderabad or visiting then you should try out this place.
