Review Hide Out Cafe - Shimla

So this cafe is situated on the mall road, right next to the Gaiety theater. The view is really good as you can see the hustle and bustle of the crowd down under. They have a bakery in the lower floor where u can get cake and other sweet desserts. They have seating area on the 1st floor. The sitting seemed a bit cramped but wasn't that bad. We ordered a Pizza, Fries, Pasta and some coke. The food arrived shortly and it was delicious. Although the serving size for pasta could've have been bigger. Considering it was almost 400 bucks. Overall a meal for 4 people cost us 1100 bucks. Which isn't bad. The cafe is Good and I usually dine here when I'm on the mall.

Loved this place, the ambience, the staff, the food everything was good. The staffs were polite and asked if we liked our food. The tomato soup was very good. They could improve taste for other cuisines but it's still above average and seems like a better option among other such restaurants.

They serve decent food here and the quantity is nice. Staffs are quick, always smiling and ready to help. The location is a plus point of this place.

Shimla has many cafes, but this one, right next to Gaiety and Town Hall, is brilliant. The food is exquisite and the place is small but magical. It has great sandwiches, and the apple pie is one of the best I have had (and I have had it in many places in Europe). Service was great. The young lady who served us was polite and extremely helpful.

One of the best places to have some nice food on the Mall road. Almost everything that I've tried here has been great. The service & staff behavior is also good. Their menu options are good enough for a little place like this. The place is a bit conjusted and their prices are a bit on higher side, but overall, this cafe is one of the finest in town. Definitely recommended.

Visited this restaurant for morning breakfast. We tasted cold coffee, sandwiches and parathas.The portion served were decent. Some of the dishes are a bit expensive. Overall the food and service was good.

Such a cute cafe. I spent nearly four hours here, sitting, enjoying some really lip-smacking meals and working. I had tried coffee, chilli potato, aloo paratha, paneer paratha with curd. The staff is cordial and very helpful. It's a wonderful option within your budget if you are around. I actually needed a calm place for working and this cafe was my best pick.

I really like the atmosphere of hideout cafe. Will go again n I was struck by how friendly the service was. Coffee n foods were all tasty and worthwhile. One must visit this place 💓✨

Located right on the Mall Road, this cafe has recently expanded into two outlets closeby. Good variety of food, reasonably priced and well defined portions of food. Whenever we visit Shimla, we make it a point to eat here. While eating you also can enjoy the view of mall road from the window seats on the Ist floor. Noodles, manchurian, pasta, variety of sandwiches (veg and non veg) and now indian mughlai dishes...they have it all. The Bakery desserts are also good especially the apple pie (don't miss it at any cost). Best thing about the cafe apart from food is its cleanliness. The toilets were also kept sparkling clean (which is hardly seen in tourist places). The staff is very courteous and attended to all our needs immediately. A must place to visit if you want to eat good food with good view too.

Long story short.. you gotta try this out. excellent service, great food quality. we ordered Tandoori chicken pizza, Mushroom noodles, Shirley temple Cold coffee without ice cream. One word . one of the best food we have ever had outside home. While eating we also checked foods of other tables as well (wink !) all looked yummy.Regarding price its bit on upper side but I am sure you won't feel any hiccup to pay anything for what you just have. I had gone there for breakfast. Tried grilled veg sandwich, ginger honey lemon tea and eggless pan cake. All the items were too good. The bread was super-soft and sandwich was so tempting that we couldn't stop munching it and ordered one more.

Was looking for a breakfast option at Mall Road and came across this place, which perhaps was only place opened at around 9:30. No eating place opens up before 10:30-11 at the Mall Road.<br/>Was the best choice indeed, best food and full value for money!

This restaurant offers multi cuisine food. As per my opinion this restaurant offers authentic food.The food is also very satisfying. I personally loved the apple pie and pizza.

Wow... The food at this quaint cute little cafe just blew my mind.. we had vegetable pizza, garlic bread sandwich, apple pie with vanilla icecream and masala tea on the first time here.. and every single item was just amazing.. so we came back for breakfast the next day before leaving Shimla and had mixed sauce pasta, focaccia sandwich, chocolate pudding and repeated the garlic bread sandwich.. once again the food here didn't disappoint us.. it was just amazeballs! Loved it.. hoping to visit again!

The place is quite compact and cannot accommodate more than 10-15 people at once. But the food is really mouthwatering!!<br/>We ordered one jumbo grilled sandwich served with crisp fries and a tasty dip. Also we had an allo patty burger which was really yum.<br/>Overall, I had a great experience with a delicious meal on my table.

Small cafe tucked in front of the townhouse. Very humble service and food is good.<br/>We had pasta, cold coffee, garlic noodles, and chocolate pastry and I think everything was great!

We had the dry pasta (Aglio Olive), Margherita Pizza, Cold coffee and the Black out cake. All the food was exceptional! Very quaint café with great music :) definitely a must visit!<br/>

It was sunday morning and badly wanted to have pancakes 🥞. This was the only place I found which was serving eggless pancakes. Though it was not in the menu but the owner said he will prepare separate batter but it will take some time. Trust me, the waiting was worth. Pancakes were delicious and hot chocolate was like cherry on top. The ambience was really nice and staff was also good. Highly recommended!!

The cafe is a quaint one & situated on the first floor. Though a little cramped up for space it serves some authentic delicacies and great coffee indeed!<br/><br/>I ordered for a margarita pizza, veg stir fry noodles and garlic bread. The quality was A1 and quantity was worth the price really. The Margarita was actually top notch. It was the softest pizza I have tried till date and almost resembled a homemade one. The cheese was overflowing and combined with a delectable pizza sauce the preparation was worth it totally! The staff was friendly and service was fantastic indeed!

Had planned for a timely breakfast on my second day in the city....however the plan was delayed from the first rays of sunrise....reached this tiny little cafe opposite the fire brigade building...trudged up the stairs and was totally surprised by the jam packed cafe that housed about eight tables...the hustle bustle and the banter was unmistakable... the stewardess darted about in a frenzy totally trained to take orders without writing them down....Mohit was managing the show from behind the counter adding a personal touch to each order and customer....my pack of hungry travellers ordered cold coffees...shakes...coffees both black and milky...pastas...wraps....burgers (non-veg & veg)....each item was freshly prepared and worth the wait...the preparation, presentation and courtesy of the staff coupled with the ambience and scenic view of the Mall road (from one of the tables) makes this place a MUST VISIT....!!!

Lovely and cozy place with awsm view of mall road. Friendly staff. We ordered Carrebean Pizza, tomato soup and hot choclate . All of them were fantastic with great taste. It cost us nearly 650 INR. They do serve chinese, pastas, salads, beverages and much more.

The Caribbean Pizza was good. But I wouldn't be ordering the Masala Cola again since I missed the Masala in the cola. But I could definitely go back there to try something else.

Great service, lovely vibe - was packed at lunch. Try the chilli paneer! Bonus is it has Wi-Fi - fabulous if you're a traveller. Chicken noodles were made better with the great condiments they give you. Clean bathroom too.

Fantastic host who made us feel very comfortable and speaks very good English. This place is Halal friendly which was great to hear because there's not much that's Halal in Shimla. <br/>The food was beautifully presented and done according to our requests, the food portions are big enough for two. This was some of the best food we've had in India. The creamy pasta was fantastic and the chicken steak was absolutely delicious. Beautiful compact cafe with well diversified menu range from sandwiches, pastas to Pizza. I have tried grilled sandwich and chicken pasta. The preparation and taste was awesome. Other than food, the location of the cafe is an additional advantage.

The cafe is located on first floor in front of city palace mall road. Everything here is perfect. Food is tasty as well as presentable. We ordered veg pizza, mix sauce pasta, chopsuey, garlic bread sandwich, soup and couple of drinks. Everything was perfectly cooked and oozing with flavour. Serving portions were also awesome. We ordered medium pizza and it was larger then we expected. Staff is also very courteus and prepares the dish as per ur liking.<br/><br/>A must visit on ur visit to Shimla.

Cozy little restaurant right in front of Gaiety so easy to locate. Bit cramped to move around. <br/>Food is great which makes up for the tad high prices.<br/>Friendly staff. Good experience.

This cafe is down on the street but yes located in the cosy first floor, so maybe that's why the name. They got really yum food. It's small but makes sure all it's customers are treated well. Do try this out and try getting the seat near the window, because it's got the view of Shimla.

The best place to hide out, if you are a freelancer or working professional, or coder, this place is for you , you can work peacefully here and enjoy the famous masala tea here.

We ended at this cafe looking for a nice cup of masala tea after our dinner.<br/>The place is very small but the staff is really friendly, and offers quite a variety of snacks.<br/>Music was soothing.

First what I did not like about the place was that I found it really congested with so many tables and chairs occupying such a small place and it becoming difficult to even sit comfortably<br/>Apart from the ambience there was no other cause of concern<br/>Their coffee was great and the cold coffee wasn't bad either<br/>We ordered chopsuey with chicken which really looked very tempting when presented.. only thing I did not like in it was that they added pineapple which had a funny taste and made it overall much more sweeter<br/>The service was prompt and they even were arranged to send coffee to a friend who was in a nearby shop in Mall Road when I asked

One of the best place to be when in Shimla. The crew is great and would make every effort to make your food the way you want it. Desserts taste good and look awesome. We ordered Chicken Steak and wanted mashed potatoes which they don't serve but Mohan was kind enough to manage something. Vegetable garden pizza was great and delicious. Food does take time but every second spend waiting is worth it as fresh food does take time to prepare. A must visit place if in Shimla and must meet Mohan who owns this place, A great gentleman.

‘’Hide Out’’is the name but this cafe is totally ‘’Show Out’’ and we were totally blown away with the overall experience here.Myself being a hotel professional can easily make out difference between best,good,poor and worst. But after going there ‘’ best’’ is the least correct meaningful word for this Cafe.I was there with my family including a kid 2 days ago and service personnels took extra mile to make our self comfortable. They were very accommodative in accepting off menu request for my kid. A stand-alone cafe can be so hospitable - we never thought off. Service standards and food quality was in par with any 5 star luxury restaurant I have ever been or ever worked. Happy to help with smile was the mission for them I felt. I would recommend this Restaurant to all the tourist visiting Shimla and should try atleast once and I am sure everyone will he forced to write a wonderful review like this.

It is a small cafe serving great food. I tried chicken wrap along with fresh lime soda and butterscotch shake. The food is great but the service is little slow.

Tried this quaint little cafe, primarily because of major food pangs making our brains (almost) paralyzed. My other companions were skeptical of the place - considering I chose this joint based on its proximity to us and it's cuisines offered. But having ordered and received the food well on time (though not quick enough for our rumbling stomachs) - all misconceptions were busted! We had their Honey Chilly Potato and Chicken Chowmein. Both were amazing!! The quantity was also quite generous and the flavours were all there. We'd asked for the dishes to be made spicy and they were duly acknowledged! The Honey Chilly Potato was crunchy and delectable! The perfect anti-dote for the chilly Shimla weather. I think we paid around 500 bucks for these dishes, but trust me it was well worth it! Also considering the dishes other customers were ordering - this joint really knows their food! P.S.:We missed out on their burgers, but do give them a try - they are Ginormous and heavenly!<br/>
