Just wow Just wow...To sample some of the best channa bhaturas in town, make your way to Sita Ram and Sons, a famous eating joint at Shimla’s Lakkar Bazaar. Serving the popular dish for the last six generations, this is arguably one of the best dhabas in Shimla......... this is the place in Shimla to have best Chole luchi..... just amazing ..... its the most tasty chole and aloo tikki in whole of shilmla ..... i repeated the order 3 times..... it has a typical sitting benches there is always rush so mostly people eat standing. it a small joint..... a legacy joint......

Just so so good. The cook was super nice and asked what we wanted and then gave us a mixed plate to try everything. Prices are stated so you can’t get ripped off. Very busy, thus popular amongst the locals. For a good reason - the food is just amazing.

One of the oldest and most famous place of Shimla. The luchi and channa with the potatoes and chutney is very tasty. But the behavior of the staff and the owner is very rude. And if you wana go there make sure you carry cash as they don't accept any kind of digital payments ONLY CASH.

Luchi chhole and tikki chhole tastes really good. Must try if you are heading to Mall road for a walk. It remains closed post lunch time!

Luchi Chana at Sita Ram and Sons in Simla. Not to be confused with Sita Ram Diwan Chand from Paharganj. These guys are quite famous, we had this. It's a pretty decent plate of chana and luchi for me. The chana had a mild sweet and less spicy flavour. Tastes quite nice when hot. You can try it one time and see. Aese weather mein mujhe sab pasand hai garam garam! 😅

Delicious food served with breads of your choice. Busy with locals and very quick turnover. Price is more expensive than we’ve had previously but it’s still not too bad. 80 per person.

It is a famous street food joint. they serve really nice and hot stuff. we liked the chole Kulcha.. very nicely cooked and awesome. Small shop , always full of customers but good experience, reasonably clean also. Near the church at Ridge. Hard to get a table due to the small size and the popularity of the place. Worth the wait. 😄

Nice street food at mall road, shimla. Here u can eat both kulcha and kulchi. Kulchi with chola masala is very tasty which costs 80 per plate.

Their chana luchi and chana kulcha are very famous ...chana has a unique flovour you can say best in shimla luchi is also very soft. Both combos i mean chana kulcha or chana luchi are very tasty. They start around 10:00 am and by 2:00 pm and sometimes around 1:30 everything is finished and you will only get tikki after that. Its a small shop so there is problem with the sitting arrangement inside the shop. They only accept cash no digital mode of payment is accepted. If tomorrow something changes regarding the mode of payment i cant say🙂

Having Luchi here was a first for me. The food Felt so satisfying, Maybe because i walked 2km to reach the shop.. but i would definitely try again. Not oily like usual channa and kulcha.. and the luchi was so light like bread.. 70 rs for one plate that fills my tummy is something i wouldn't complaint about.. this is going to be my standard for comparison whenever I try luchi elsewhere. It's a bit crowded there so u gotta ask for 2, 3 times to get the attention of the staff. But that's fine. Good experience.

Their Chola Luchi is to die for, you have never eaten anything so good… the Luchi liters melts in your mouth and the Chola taste sweet yet tangy at the same time but quite masaledar too. Downside is the restaurant is often shut, the number provided on google is not correct hence you need to make few visits before you can actually try the food. They are sold out by 1-2 pm during peak seasons, better to head here for breakfast or brunch.

One of the most famous eatery of Shimla, Sita Ram and Sons, famous for its chana Kulcha, Chana Luchi and other dishes. Taste was really nice and it was freshly prepared. A must visit outlet for Chana kulcha lovers.
Viraf Patrawala
The food was decent, but have had better chhole-kulche in Delhi. The portion size was small for the price. Sitting space is limited.
Vedant Sah
Tried this so called famous Chana Luchhi. This shop opens only till 4:00 PM and then the owner wraps up. The taste of the chana was something different a bit tangy and sweet. Luchhi on the other end resembled a thin bhatura. One should give it a try..

Worth visit eatery near ridge in Lakkar bazaar, easy to find, walk towards lakkar bazaar from ridge and just before market starts it's on right side.
They are famous for Luchchi (a type of bhature) and Chhole and I had the same too.Luchchi was ok but chhole was good. They have a very limited space to sit but no problem if ready to eat standing.I arrived early at the time of opening so wasn't crowded but during noon and evening saw it crowded.
Must visit if you are a foodie, price is reasonable, not heavy on pocket.
Jazzthebossbabe

Divyanshi Dhouni
A very popular place in shimla where you will always find crowd. Their famous is chole luchi(which people often think bhatura) Bhatura and luchi was indeed yummy. There are only 2 benches as sitting space so people can stand and eat. If you are in shimla you must try them once.
NomadicRider
The tikki and channa are amazing. The lucchi is served hot with the same channa and tamarind chutney. Reach in time cause it does finish fast. A must try for street food enthusiasts.

Had their famous luchi chole and tikki..the luchi bhatura was though fried but very light on the tummy..the eatery has great following among the local and tourists alike..mantained their quality over the generations

A small eatery at Lakar Bazar, Shimla, serves delicious Chole Bhature which have a sweet and tangy taste to it. Currently run by the sixth generation of the same family, you cannot skip this eatery once you are here. If you do not find a seat inside the small shop, you can take the delicious food and sit right across the street on the benches.

My dad grew up in Shimla and for him from high school through to college, Sita Ram was a constant fixture. The challenge with legends, especially the ones that your friends and family tell you about, is that you have to be careful and take them with a pinch of salt. And so I went in here with expectations but not ones that were lofty high. I left with expectations of my own that I hope they will live up to year after year

The preparation is simple. There's chhole bhature and tikki. I opted for the former. The chhole are light and well seasoned. The tangy chutneys and spices add the perfect kick and the ever so warm bhature are there to sponge it all up. I ate two servings!

Please don't come here for a great seating experience. Come here for the food.

The place is few metres away behind the ridge .The stuff is okay nothing great .But it is crowded and frequented by locals .Maybe I was first to eat and that's why the food was a little cold
amazing chole bhature..the bhatura melts in the mouth. the location is in lakkar bazar, but if u search the place in google maps it ll take you near to it but not exactly to the same location..its on a hill top , so better park the vehicle somewhere in paid parking down tale the staircase and come to the market area and follow the map

So last month I had a chance to visit shimla and first thing I did was to search the best places to eat in shimla and on the top I saw this restaurant by the name of sita ram and son. Although I tried to link it with the delhi's famous sitaram bathure waala in my mind, but they are'nt related.
So they have two bestselling items one is luchi and other one is kulcha. I tried the luchi and I would definitely recommend you that only, it was so soft and think that I ended up having two plates by myself. The main game changer is their preparation of chana with their home grinded spices. They are not like that so rich chana you find in most of the places and you won't feel any heaviness even after having two plates. Chole is common for both luchi and kulcha and is topped with two types of chutney and onions. And mind you they open around 10:30 so don't go by zomato's timing as we followed and reached there by 9 😋
They also serve tikki's which I did'nt try, so tikki's lovers can also head here
Happy fooding 🤩
The only luchi and chola kulcha place at the mall road. A legacy of shimla. Quantity of chola is very less per plate. I tried luchi chola and tikki chola. Good to try in cold weather. Taste was very basic, seemed to be quite hyped place. A very basic taste nothing wow about it.

Had heard rave reviews about this food outlet and so decided to try out.

They serve chole bhature. It is a bit different from Delhi style. Bhature is not big and chole is sweet in taste.

I found it ok but my brother liked it.

Located in Mall road and easily can be found out.

Space is less and crowded.

Staff is fine.

Do visit when in Shimla
Anita
Wow is the word for chana bhatura.. During my school and college we all friends were used to go there and eat a lot.. The flavour and taste is the best and you should not miss it if you visit shimla..
But make sure you visit before evening because sometime you may get to hear sorry..
Sissy
Absolutely delicious! The channa is super flavorful. It’s quick, warm, and cheap. I’ve been twice on this trip. It’s an absolutely can’t miss in Shimla.

This shop is a very old shop and famous for it's luchi chole. Chole with 2 types of chutney is too good. Must try chole luchi and aloo tiki luchi. Only 40 rupees per plate. Must try, but remember all item end by 3 pm.

I had heard so much about this place and thus it guaranteed itself a visit even though I was extremely buys with marriage functions etc while in Simla
They do not serve Bhaturas as I had originally thought but instead serve cholas with Luchi ( like Bhaturas made from flour but less fried )
One plate or Luchi and cholas cost around Rs 40 which is very reasonable and quite filling
The cholas had a very rich flavour and extremely delicious.. what added more to the flavour was the sweet chutney that they added on top of it to give it that extra flavour
There was a huge crowd there when we went but they seem to know how to work under pressure and the plates kept getting prepared as new customers kept walking in
Komal Ahuja
Absolutely delicious. Such a small outlet with superb quality and taste. Not oily and spicy. At just RS.40 per plate. The Channa taste is awesome
Amit Kubba
The food was amazing especially the chutney and Channa.. I tried Channa tikki, Channa Luchi and Channa kulcha.. All were worth trying.. Only reason of deducting a mark was the attitude of the owner. Guy has a pathetic attitude.. Anyways must try food in Shimla.

I have been here since my childhood. Whenever I visit the mall I never skip this place. The taste is unbeatable. I have been to hundreds of places but this still remains on the top
Going to Shimla and not eating Sitaram ke Chole Bhature.. just not possible .
Awesome taste and freshly made. Walk along the ridge towards Lakkar bazar and just when the shops appear on your right hand side you will find this small shop totally crowded . If you are lucky and you reach before the lunch time you may get to eat or take away , as mostly the stuff is sold out and the team says .. time to go home 😎
