Review Embassy Restaurant - Shimla

Sriparna Bhaduri
The place is amazing and the food is worth trying. Uncle knows very well the hungry eyes and he serves exactly what you need at exact point. The most amazing thing is you will get a feel of diagon alley from harry potter series. But you may found uncle and aunty a bit wierd but the best way to get the best out of them is be kind and modest and trust on their taste. Trust me, you won't regret. It is over priced but if you compare it with taste, you will get to know why it is overpriced!

Good coffee, cheesecake, and conversation. The owner is a genuine person who has his own opinions and perspectives. He may have some challenges with communication, but he is open to feedback and improvement. He does not deserve the harsh criticism that some reviewers have given him for being himself. I appreciate his honesty and authenticity. Would love to visit for another coffee and definitely for the chat.

It's an old renowned cafe in shimla. It was about to close when we first entered there but the owner was so humble that he opened it for us and some and allowed us to dine in. I enjoyed having chocolate brownie and famous apple almond cake. Also you must try the hot rum coffee served here. Inside the cafe you can see many books which suggests that the cafe owner have a good taste in terms of reading. It's old yet beautiful. It have an antique look from inside which makes it so different from the other cafes around. Highly recommended.

Taste - 5/5 Portions - 4/5 Ambience - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Value for money - 4/5 Located on the mall road, this cafe is very old & is undoubtedly one of the most renowned cafes of shimla. No matter what age group you fall in, this place has something delicious to offer. The moment you enter the place, it's crystal clear why is it the most photographed cafe of shimla. The place has beautiful wooden interiors with cozy corners & handwritten pieces all over. The books stack & antiques section is just eye pleasing. All pieces of art make the vibe purely unadulterated. Though the food seemed a bit overpriced & the staff behaviour is not very pleasing, but the amazing food taste & classic ambience makes up for everything. 1. Rum coffee - 5/5 One of their vintage recipes, this is a perfect treat to your taste buds in the hills. It tasted delish way beyond expectations. It was not bitter & yet had a very strong aroma & flavour of rum without disturbing the essence of coffee. Absolute "must have". 2. Blueberry cheesecake - 5/5 Flavourful with a soft melt in mouth crust and generous blueberry topping. Perfect proportions, from the sweetness of the cake to the sour taste of blueberry. Each bite leaves you craving for more.

Authentic English bakery in Shimla, they serve a variety of desserts and coffee, too pricey for the taste and quality offered. Tried their rum coffee and rum cake,a single individual cannot drink it all because of the strong flavour it has. Their banana cake was good when compared to the chocolate brownie

Loved the conversation with the owner of this place - what an amazing person with knowledge of everything in this world. He makes the best almond and apple pie - the rum and hit chocolate brownie is a must have there. Just feel like spending the whole day sitting and eating at this place. Overall 5 stars to the food and another 5 to the hospitality.
