We visited the restaurant on a busy sunday and the service was good but the dishes are a bit expensive. The soups was okay, a bit salty to taste. The main course dishes were good. Non Veg Hyderabad biryani was nice and the served quantity was good. liked it

Although our tour to Himachal Pradesh was not so good as people there are rude and self-centric. It was quite shocking to know that they want to earn from tourism but don't want to serve them. All they want is money. One can witness open loot there but after spending 7 days there I found this gem of Shimla serving really delicious food. This is the best place in Shimla. Everyone is selling substandard food there but this eatery is serving the best. I wish I cold have visited very first day there. We ordered vegetarian food as the staff was not aware if the non vegetarian food they are serving is halal or not. If you want to have really delicious food, this place is must to visit. Don't go for Tripti, that is bad place.

Chefs are outstanding! The food beats all places on Mall Road. Simply amazing 😻 👍 Everything right from snacks to desserts. Good presentation and even better was the taste. I loved the dal makhani personally as I am a Mughlai fan! It was outstanding …simply relished it 💛 Then came the butter chicken which chef suggested to me . It was their version of butter chicken ..chicken bemisal .. amazing taste. Authentic … aroma was wow! I liked the vodka Gulab Jamun too…the mithai is infused with vodka and orange giving a taste like no other. I really enjoyed the service and the vibe of this whole restaurant and best part is it’s very centrally located on the Mall Road area

The hotel was a great stay, it was clean and service was great. Breakfast was included which had parontha, boiled egg, noodles, chai and coffee, and other small snacks. There was a nice top viewpoint of Shimla from the reception desk. The customer service was helpful and great

In the hustle bustle of Shimla Mall Road, located is Eighteen 71 Cookhouse and Bar at Hotel Willow Banks deriving its name from the year the property dates back to. The decor has elements of wood, leather and metal being contemporary and modern, full of delightful and plush ambience for a fine dining experience. The cuisine is one to fall in love with- Pan Indian and Oriental and also live grills to set the mood with some innovative cocktails and mocktails from the bar section. As the day starts and you are in mood to have good food, the buffet spread delights you and the lovely lunch and also the evening magic with mood lighting and upbeat music playing. The classic flavours in the food retaliate with your fun mood with the much desired contemporary twist which adds to the excitement of the entire dining experience. The menu has Mughlai food, Oriential cuisine (Chinese, Thali, Malay & Burmese), Bengali curries, Parsi specialities, Chettinad delicacies and Rajasthani delights too. The live grills being the attraction for many and so the restaurant is set apart. The dessert spread even has Paan Kulfi which is an absolute favourite amongst many. We had two of our meals here. For the lovely dinner that we had at Eighteen 71- we first had Paneer Tikka- delicious big chunks of paneer which were tasty and spicy with grilled capsicums and onions. Palak Paneer was very delectable. All the breads- Butter Naan, Tandoori Roti and Pudina Parantha were perfectly soft and layered with love. Next were Steamed Rice and Dal Makhani- the dal was lovely and creamy and the rice was perfectly cooked. In Desserts, Gulab Jamun was very soft with dessicated coconut sprinkled on it while Badam Kheer was nice too and yes sweetly heavenly. It was a great meal with old classics playing in the background. I missed having the Goan Curry and Malabar specialities but there is always a next time. Our next meal was a Buffet Breakfast here consisting of an elaborate spread. There was Grilled Tomatoes, Hash Browns which were nicely cooked and baked, Baked Beans, Boiled Eggs, Veg. Penne Pasta (yum!), Cornflakes, Muesli, Paratha with pickles- very fulfilling, Pao Bhaji (so delicious), Idli Sambhar (sambhar was spicy with lotsa veggies in it), Butter Toast, Jam Toast and much more. Then there were live counters from the Chef's Section of Omelette (it was really nicely made), Uttapam and Dosa- the dosa was hot, crisp and yummy. There was fresh Apple Juice and Cold Coffees too along with Muffins, Chocolate Cakes and Fruit Cakes. It was a lavish spread of breakfast and everything that I tried was excellent and worth recommending (especially the hot favourite Pao Bhaji). Needless to mention, all COVID precautions are being followed. Eighteen 71 hosts musical evenings with a mix of retro music in both Hindi and English and also has plans to host comedy nights in Shimla soon so you have another reason to visit Eighteen 71 in Shimla.

Just loved our lunch here. We ordered pineapple and corn salad and a couscous dish (don't remember the name). It was delicious and had distinct flavors to it. The dishes were garnished in an amazing way, which enhanced the overall experience. The interiors were comfortable and soothing. Had a relaxing time eating our lunch here. Will definitely visit again. I recommend this to everyone who visits Shimla. Also it is easy on the pockets :D

Eighteen71 Cookhouse & Bar is a culinary gem that offers a delightful dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance is inviting, with a trendy and modern decor. The menu is diverse and offers a fusion of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent service. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a full meal, Eighteen71 Cookhouse & Bar is a fantastic choice. The only slight drawback is that it can get a bit crowded during peak hours. Nevertheless, it's definitely a place to visit for a memorable dining experience.

Located in mall road. One of my friend suggested this restaurant . It was my amazing experience ❤️

Visited this restaurant in January this year for New Years dinner. This place has an amazing interior, perfect lighting and a very cozy and regal look and feel. Food is delicious and its served with a smile. We had Paneer achari tikka and bhatti ka murgh. Both were amazing. The tangy flavour of the tikka was really yummy. In the mains we tried the daal makhani, rogan josh and hyderabadi biryani and would like to say that all the dishes were very tasty. This was a family dinner and we all really enjoyed .Our experience here was worth every penny we spent.

Located on the Main Mall Road in Shimla, we heard of this restaurant from the locals and decided to try it. The best Chinese I have eaten by far in long! Their chilli garlic noodles, pan fried chilli chicken, the creamy and flavourful Green thai curry and stir fried oriental veggies were all really good and authentic. A must eat place for tantalizing your taste buds.

Just walk in for fuss free and delicious Mughlai food in Shimla. Service is great too, staff really makes you feel special. Must haves were their speciality chicken bemisaal, ajwaini fish tikka, daal makhani and paneer khatta pyaaz. 5/5 on food and 5/5 on ambience. Food was mouth watering. They had chinese on the menu too, which a lot of other diners were having - but we didn't try. Something for the next time!

I visited to shimla with my friends last to last month so tried this outlet
In Shimla, me and my friends were looking for a a good place for sit down dinner late in the night around 11.30 which is very late for shimla.
All places were shut and someone suggested we try 1871. The place was inside a hotel and we were a bit unsure but so glad we went there. It was well done up, super comfortable, staff was really helpful and the food was excellent!
We had a chicken curry, pulao and kathi roll. Was made exactly as spicy as we like it. Finger licking good! Cheers guys!

Would love to come here again

Highly recommended ⚡⚡❤❤👍

Went to this restaurant a couple of times during our Shimla trip and i really wanted to post a review for the amazing Chinese and Thai food we ate here. The menu was elaborate and there were a variety of delicacies to choose from. We loved the Red thai chicken curry, Pad thai noodles and the thai chicken nam prik pao. Each dish had a hearty and fresh flavour. The chicken was well cooked and even their dessert section had a host of mouthwatering options. Great food, loved it!

Best choice for meat lovers!
Visited a month ago and felt its a well done up plush multicuisine restaurant but after eating the food I was proven wrong. The food is just awesome! We ate the chicken bhatti ka murgh, ajwaini fish tikka and then the Biryani. Each dish was delicious and served by polite staff. Wonderful experience!

We were staying in hotel willow banks and we were eating our meals here. It’s the main restaurant of the hotel. Great variety of snacks main course n desserts. Service is slow but definitely worth the wait. We loved the Chinese served here. Absolutely yummy. Momos, noodles and prawns along with suimui prawns which was recommended by the waiter himself. All dishes were good. The meal took time to be served but it was enjoyable.

I visited eighteen 71 with my family . This is a fine dining restaurant so ofcourse the ambience is very good. Had heard so much from my friends about it so we came here the first day of our trip itself. We ordered mutton seekh, malabari prawns and amazing naans . all the dishes are yummy and great quality. Totally enjoyed this meal to the fullest

Eighteen 71 is very fancy fine dine restaurant. It has a premium look. Mostly foreigners . It’s a nice place with very authentic food from pan Asian cuisine. The dim sums and suimui were yummy. So good. Soft and juicy. Spring rolls and Kung pao chicken were yum. Penang curry and noodles we had for main course. Authentic food taste.. it’s a perfect place for a nice fancy dinner. Surely recommend !!

Rarely do I find a place that serves all my favourites because they happen to span different regional cuisines within India. But this restaurant tucked away in Shimla serves the best of dishes from all across India which was just perfect for me. I throughly enjoyed my Laal Maas, Palak Paneer and Prawn 65 in mains and a tandoori platter for starters. Portions were large. Food was yum, Decor was elegant and servers were sweet too. A wonderful evening!

Been coming to both the outlets of this hotel for the past 3-4 years. Must say standards have dropped a fair bit over the past year or so. Ordered 3 oriental dishes and I must say that all 3 were decidedly average - something you could find at most half decent Chinese joints. Definitely not worth the prices charged

I have never had such a great buffet ever even after travelling internationally so many times. The quality and variety of the buffet is beyond expectations. Loved the taste of the food.

On our family trip to shimla this was our favourite restaurant. We had both our lunch meals here. My whole family loved it as it had good food and was central. The menu is so elaborate, they have a good selection of Indian, Chinese and Thai as well. They had sea food too which is my favourite. I ordered prawns chettinad style which I loved. The Thai and Penang curry were very tasty. A delightful change from regular food. The shrimp sui mui was soft and juicy. We ordered some basic Indian classics like dal makhani, rogan josh and rara meat. Very nice to taste. The staff was polite .
Chavi Thukral
I loved the food here. The dal makhani , murgh lababdar were outstanding. The prawn 65 was so authentic and yum. I tried their vodka gulab jamun on recommendation and tha too turned out to be amazing. A very refreshing change from regular desserts. Very tasty. The place has a good ambience, light music, perfect for family gathering like ours. We all really had a great time and surely coming back soon.

Great restaurant. The food here was a treat. This is located right on mall- in a hotel complex. Tried their pan Asian food- pan fried noodles and chicken dim sum. Tried their special Penang curry which was really nice. It was so creamy and authentic. Made for a great meal.Ended the meal with a nice fruit Sunday ice cream and a chocolate mousse. Each dish was well made and came with great presentation. What I found was the best was- this is open 24 hours unlike any place in Shimla.
After struggling to find a good place to eat, we ultimately reached here and glad we took this decision.

Nice fancy restaurant. I like the colour scheme and interiors. Quite stylish. Entry is beautiful. We were forced to enter and try as it looked so pretty. The Indian dishes were very tasty, like the chicken tikka , dal makhani, chicken baimesal. Really enjoyed each dish. Made really well. Perfect for family get together. Something for everyone in family. My family also ordered Chinese and loved it too.

Hello Foodies,
Such a nice dining experience. Loved the Chinese and Thai. Currently the best place in Shimla. I had the prawn suimui dimsums, noodles, kungpao chicken. Loved everything. My family also tried their mughlai. The chicken lababdar, mutton was amazing. Drinks and cocktails too good.

THE place in shimla for a great meal.
This place was one of the most memorable meals we had in Shimla. A cozy well done up restaurant with excellent service. The servers were polite and prompt. They had soft retro songs playing in the background. Was impressed by the menu because unlike a regular North Indian restaurant they had the best dishes from all over India ok their menu. We finally ordered a Ajwaini fish tikka for starters and for mains a Himachali mutton dish called Khamod meat along with Prawn 65. A bit from many cuisines! And each dish was delicious. The food stole the show completely. Loved the meal and would love to go back again for more.
Jasmin Arora (thoughtoffood)
Plush ambience and delicious food. A right mix of both. I ordered their murgh bemisal and bhatti ka murgh which was recommended to me by my friends who had visited this place. Loved both the dishes. Tender pieces along with good flavourful gravy. The daal makhani was also really tasty. We followed our main course with a quirky version of Gulaab jamun which was smeared with vodka - and served with ice cream. Overall really enjoyed the food. Even their drinks were good- they call them fun bottles , and have nice fruity flavours in it . Quite refreshing . This was definitely a very good meal experience in Shimla.

Ordered Cappucino, Lime soda, Paneer starter and Chicken Fried Rice on my two visits. Both the time the service was excellent but a bit slow. Food wasn't as tasty.

They didn't have schezwan sauce. The one they served was more like a pickle with a sweet taste. Yes, I enquired and they confirmed it is schezwan sauce they make in-house.

Proper hygiene and great ambience.

Eighteen71 in Shimla was quite a find for us! We saw it while walking on the Mall Road and were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and saw the place. Ambience was plush and luxurious and staff was very cordial. The menu was huge! Ranging across all pan Indian specialities and oriental dishes across Chinese, Malay, Thai and Burmese. We ordered some Chinese and also just to try we ordered a Himachali special mutton curry. All the dishes tasted superb and authentic. We tried a cocktail too and that was fantastic as well. The lighting and music set the mood just right. I would love to go back again. Should be on your bucket list when in shimla.

Excellent food and service. We went there multiple times and tried north Indian and Chinese food. The portion sizes were big and staff was friendly.

The ambience is impeccable and the best part is its open 24 hours. Went in the night for a hearty meal when all other places on the mall were closed and ended up having the tastiest meal in shimla. Highly recommend!

Classic!
This place is classic. I have been eating here for a while now and quality is just excellent every time. Usually I steer clear of multicuisine restaurants but this one is special. Whether it’s the North Indian or Chinese or Thai all dishes are impeccable. And the service staff is very polite and sweet. Thanks for a great experience each time!

So I went to Eighteen71 after seeing multiple great reviews online. The only fish I ended up having was the Crispy Chilly and Honey Chicken which was decent.
But the highlight was the terrible service and the insane waiting time. I ordered a Chicken Dim-Sum as well which took over 30 mins to prepare. After this 30 min wait, the waiter had the audacity to tell me that the dish prepared was wrong and would I take that instead ! My further requests to meet the manager were turned down by the waiters but I persisted and found the manager myself and reported the problem to him. My advice would be to steer away from this restaurant.

Amazing!
We had an amazing time at eighteen71. Went for a lazy lunch and since they are open 24 hours it wasn’t a problem. Tried the pan fried noodles, Kung pao chicken and Asian greens on the recommendation of the waiter and all dishes were excellent. Totally 10/10. Loved the dessert too we had a brownie with ice cream. Definitely would be returning soon!

Good food!
I would say the best food I have had in shimla during my stay there. Ambience is great. But it’s all about the food- the kebabs, the main course everything was superb quality .
Sunil Kumar

Excellent food and service!
My sister wanted special food without onions and garlic and the chef made us a dish it wasn’t a problem. Desserts especially vodka. Gulab jamun was exquisite. Had the chettinad dishes and was pleasantly surprised. I recommend this place. Will go again

Great food!
Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant in shimla. Heard of it from the locals and decided to try it. It was actually the best Indian food I have had anywhere - their murgh bemisaal and bhatti ka murgh are must haves!
Why does one go out for dinner or lunch? is it because of food and the taste ? No i would rather say for the overall experience not for the mere splurge of money. Although the place is very well located on mall and they also prepare good food. However what the restaurant lacks is the hospitality the warmth of service and an attitude to lure customers. Shimla is a tourist place hence not providing a good service may work but for local people it is absolutely a turn off. I was made to stand embarrassed while the waiter counted the bill... Such instances makes one think as to where has the tradition of a good services gone. I can very well recommend a handful restaurants keeping the high regard for service alive
... yet this place is not one of them... Go there for food and not for experience for u wont find one
Sugandha Khetan Himmatramka
It's been so long had been craving a really nice alfredo pasta...and believe me.. if you are in shimla and haven't had that you haven't had a good pasta in your life.. must try.. food and service both are amazing.. cudos to this this place...

Having stuffed myself all day with all kinds of food...I was still hungry for more in the evening...Eighteen 71 Popped up on Google and I gave it a shot...bang on the Mall road it was a short distance away from Sol Lounge... The ambience was pleasing.....dimly lit...quite a few diners in various stages of finishing dinner and at different levels of satisfaction sat all around the wooden tables....I ordered Khamod Meat, Dal and Chilly Paneer on the guidance of the steward... Dal and Chilly Paneer were delicious and tingled the taste buds along with the Roti and Naan...however what took the cake was the Khamod Meat....it was the first time I was eating the local dish...and by no means was any short of TOTAL SATISFACTION...cooked in curd with chunks of succulent soft meat I devoured it hungrily with steamed rice....A MUST TRY FOR ALL VORACIOUS NON-VEGETARIANS....!!!

We gad missi roti nan nd khamod ghosht .. the rotis were soft the meat peices were succulent nd juicy . Gravy was like kadhi .. so may be not a cup of tea for everyone but incase u want to try somethng diff then go for this

Shimla is a paradise for foodies and I came across one such restaurant in Shimla which totally impressed me to the core, be it their food, service or hospitality.

Eighteen 71 is a multicuisine bar cum restaurant, located in the heart of Shimla, near Mall Road, inside Hotel Willow Banks. From their amazing breakfast spread to their Indian and Oriental dishes, everything is worth a try. I loved the fizzy Berry Cola and the soft and juicy Pan Fried Chilli Chicken. These two dishes are highly recommended !

Visited here during trip to shimla. This place has indoor seating and located on mall road.
Location is excellent and interiors is also good.
Visited here for dinner, crowd was good.
Had paneer tikka and few drinks which was good. A cozy restaurant with multiple cuisine options. We had dimsuma and pad thai!! Courteous staff with friendly attitude. It has inside dining with heaters which keeps the place warm and relaxing in the chilling winters.

Peaceful and calm place with soothing ambience. If your are looking to spend some quality time with your loved ones or family this is the place. Good quality of food along with good service. The prices are not so reasonable tho... We tried Ajwaini Fish Tikka, Butter Chicken and Firni. The taste of Firni was really authentic. If you are hungry and want to treat your taste buds please try out Eighteen 71.

Nice place, good ambience, food was very good, good seating arrangement, the people there were good. But one regret that their service is a bit slow. Else everything was nice,it was a good experience.

Excellent restaurant- the ambiance, the service and most importantly the food was great! We had Chinese food, not only was it delicious but the portions were huge! On top
of that they had live music in their cafe adjacent to the restaurant on the Sat night which we could hear loud and clear in the restaurant. The singers were amazing!! Would definitely visit this place again.

Today I am dining in the restaurant, we have ordered cream of vegetables and mushrooms in first course.
Famished by the chores, eagerly waiting for our food.
.
Ambience amazing, fell in love with the it. The rustic delicacy of the era gone by along with the golden Bollywood songs, is just cherry on top. The right combination of nuances of the past blended along with the contemporary environment.
Ambience : 4.5🌟/5🌟
.
Honestly speaking, I didn't like the soup served, reason being the consistency of the sauce is bit liquish, it craves the finness also the Vegetables on the top were little overcooked which in my opinion have become squishy and lost there crunch. We were served soup without any accompaniment like bread or anything, maybe my expectations were perfection.
.
Now the main course, for the main course we ordered jerk chicken, paneer khata payaz along with chicken Desi ghee and some of the naan bread. To my delight the Desi ghee chicken was exquisite, the rich butter compliment the tangy tomato sour-sweetness with right amount of spice, I'm craving for the same since I had. The paneer khata payaz was something different in the menu but it was just paneer gravy topped with pickled onions
.
Now, the jerk chicken I don't know for some reason I couldn't be able to like it I would have wanted to though,

SUGGESTION: if sauce can be served separately.

The sauted vegies had lost their texture completely, it was again squishy and soft, which tempered the overall experience.
Food: 3.5 🌟/5
.
There was one manager on the duty, who helped us and I'm quite thankful for your help, then his shift gets over, I couldn't be able to thank him for his service.
Service: 4 🌟/5
.
The quality time and overall experience from the outlet
I'm going with 3.5🌟/5
This place at the mall stands apart from the clutter around. There is diversity in menu, staff is super nice and the ambiance is smoothing. We ordered chicken steak with mushroom sauce, pad Thai noodles and a banoffee pie. The mushroom sauce, albeit cooked Indian style with Indian spices, was delicious. The pad Thai noodles were subtle in taste the way it should be. But the best was the pie. It was fresh and amazingly good. Perfect ending! Very economical and good value for money!

Really nice place! Very centrally located, right on the mall road. It's located inside hotel Willow banks. Nice find dine ambience and delicious food. Spent my anniversary here and absolutely loved the food. The chettinad prawns, murgh Malai, murgh lababdar, laal mass are to die for! They have a huge variety in their menu and everything I have had has been exceptional. They serve some quirky drinks as well, cute looking cocktails. Overall it was a great visit. Would surely recommend to all.

We saw this fancy cook house and bar at the mall and decided to have our lunch here.
We ordered for a pint of beer, a Bloody Mary cocktail, vanilla caramel shake, Loaded chicken nachos, prawn hakka noodles and Thai chicken red curry.
The food was indeed delectable, all the dishes had their own original taste. The presentation was class apart and the service was prompt and courteous.
It was worth the prices and the portion served were ample.
Ambience was great and the songs being played in the background were soulful.

Anyone who visits Shimla, must visit this restaurant for an amazing experience and delicious food.
