Review Wazwan - Srinagar

Kareema stands as a culinary gem, boasting an unrivaled mastery over Kashmiri waazwan that elevates the dining experience to extraordinary heights. Having sampled various waazwan offerings in the vicinity, I can confidently assert that Kareema's rendition surpasses them all. The meticulous attention to authentic Kashmiri flavors and the expertly crafted dishes showcase a commitment to culinary excellence. However, the restaurant's Achilles' heel lies in its lackluster entrance. A stark contrast to the culinary delight that awaits inside, the initial impression is underwhelming. My friends and I were momentarily taken aback, with the entrance failing to capture the essence of the gastronomic journey that lay ahead. Moreover, the waiting time proved to be a test of patience. Standing for what felt like an eternity – approximately 10 minutes – within the cafe itself, we were left grappling with the anticipation of the feast promised by Kareema. While the delay was a minor hiccup, it did slightly dampen the overall experience. Yet, once seated and served, any prior grievances dissipated. The service, despite the initial delay, was attentive and courteous. The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the impeccable quality of the waazwan. Each dish was a symphony of flavors, meticulously prepared and served with a commitment to authenticity that transported diners straight to the heart of Kashmir. In conclusion, Kareema is a testament to the adage that good things come to those who wait. While the entrance and initial waiting experience leave room for improvement, the culinary journey that follows is nothing short of exceptional. For those seeking an unparalleled taste of Kashmiri waazwan, Kareema remains a must-visit, eclipsing its minor shortcomings with the brilliance of its gastronomic offerings. Long way to go Team Kareema. May Allah bless you all.

We had a lunch at Kareema, which is famous for Kashmiri traditional dish Wazwan. We ordered 2 plates of Wazwan which was sufficient for 3 of us. Kasshmiri rice, methi, Tabakmaz, kebab, Rista, Gustaba & Rogan josh , everything was very tasty & freshly prepared. Loved the dish. The place has a traditional look. Waiters are courteous. Overall wonderful experience.

The hotel is little inside so find it carefully. If you want to try genuine wazman, the Kashmiri thali, please do visit here. The place is really authentic. The service is quick. As per me one portion of wazman is sufficient for two people. There is small place for parking too. Place is neat and hygiene too.

Tried the Kashmiri wazwan for the first time frankly speaking it was just nice not that happening I personally found it so so but it's very famous between the locals & tourists. We tried Tabakmaaz, gushtaba, rista, mutton rogan josh & kashmiri rice.. overall a good & reasonable hotel for kashmiri wazwan 😊

Kareema's is one of the best places in Srinagar for delicious Wazwan that won't burn a huge hole in your pocket. We went on a Sunday afternoon for brunch, and the place filled up by 1pm. It is an unassuming place on the first floor, right opposite Ahdoos (another place for great Wazwan, but very expensive). In the Wazwan Thali, we got five dishes (tabakh maaz, kabab, rogan josh, rista, and goshtaba) all for just Rs. 700. The service was also very fast.

Kareema Restaurant, famous for its Wazwaan thaali at an affordable price! This is the reason why I visited the same to check the quality and service being provided there. At the outset, talking about its location, it is located on residency road srinagar, besides the HP service centre. The aura and feel of the restaurant is cool and calm, It looks clean and it's vibe is totally different, especially the old photoframes hung on each wall and placed in a well defined manner. The food was not of the quality that I expected, taste wise, It was lacking basic cooking procedures, like in Kabaab; it was not grilled properly. Besides rista and Rogan Josh was average. Price wise, it is really nice, however I believe, it should also maintain the taste and quality of the dish likewise. You can have full wazwaan there, and the dishes include 1. Rista 2. Rogan Josh 3. Kabaab 4. Daniwal korma 5. Meethi 6. Goshtaba/Yakhni 7. Tabakh maaz 8. Paneer 9. Mirchi korma etc. Few things to mention, washroom facility is available and was clean and hygienic. Staff working there is also cooperative and thoughtful.

Best place to have authentic Kashir Wazwan in a traditional way. Wazwaan tastes absolutely delicious. Presentation was very nice in traditional traami. Tabakmaaz, Goshtaba, Rista, Kabab are exceptionally tasty. Highly recommended. Price are reasonable and they have other dishes as well apart from Wazwan.

Better to visit when you are really hungry as it is a heavy meal. This restaurant specialises on various mutton dishes which is collectively called wazwan in local language (i.e Mutton Thali). Just loved the fried mutton also called Tabakmaz which I would rate 6 out of 5. personally next I liked roganjosh. Its frequented more by locals than tourists .. Hence highly recommended

Among the best wazwaan served here. The place has a great ambiance. Order wazwaan thali which consists of 5-6 dishes of wazwan. The rice is served in the traditional plate which includes rice , tabak maaz , methi maaz and kabab. Other dishes are served in intervals which include Rista, Rogan Josh and at last the Gostaba. Must try food for every wazwaan lovers.

If you are in Kashmir, you have to try the wazwan. We were fortunate to have it at a restaurant where locals eat and also at the home of one our friend, Tariq, who has a Jewellery store in Goa. The local restaurant we went to was called Kareema's and is frequented by Locals only. The wazwaan is like a seven course meal and starts with a plate of rice with methi, which is a thick gravy made with sheep's tripe. The rice is blistering hot and you start with the methi and the kebabs which is followed by tabakmaaz, rista, Roganjosh and then gushtaba. Each dish is sent in that sequence so that you enjoy the meat and the gravy. Each and every dish was amazing but the Rista and the Goshtaba were the star of the wazwan as expected. The Rista which are meatballs that are pounded with meat and fat gives it such a lovely consistency that takes you to meatball heaven. Soft, bouncy, crunchy meaty, flavourful and so godamn delicious that I had decided that very moment that we will be coming again. This was the best meal of our trip and it is a must do on your trip to Srinagar. The wazwan costed us 550 per person and was very reasonable if you consider the pricing at other places.

Today I visited first time at this place and trust me I found the most authentic wazwan at Kareema Restaurant, real taste as it's served in marriage functions. Nowadays it's very difficult to get authentic wazwan taste and this place is amazing 😍 to get real wazwan with no mix at all. I will definitely suggest this place to everyone if people want to get real taste of Wazwan-E-Kashmir. Hats 👑⛑👒🎩 off team Kareema.

Must visit if you are looking for Kashmiri Wazwaan thali, a dish that contains authentic lamb meat preparation. For first timers, suggest to first order one thaali and taste. Place is filled at most times & expect a 10 min waiting to get a table. Service is prompt.
