Review Books & Bricks Cafe - Srinagar

The food here is great but the service is very slow. It's seems that the cafe is acutely understaffed. However, given the taste i would definitely visit again.

The cafe is quaint and resembles like a cute European cafe where u can order amazing food and the tea is also great. They made a really good Vegetarian aglio e olio with not the typical veggies that you usually put in. The berry waffle was a little sweet but the Brownie was just amazing. I would highly recommend this place if you ever were to go to Srinagar

Hi Danish I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible hospitality 10th July night at Ali’s wedding. The pizza and pasta spread you arranged at your cafe during those late hours was an absolute treat! Not only was the food delicious, but the warm ambiance and friendly company made it a truly memorable experience. Your thoughtfulness and dedication to ensuring everyone had a fantastic time are truly admirable. We feel incredibly lucky to have you as a friend and as the owner of such a wonderful cafe. Your kindness and generosity know no bounds, and I am truly grateful for all the effort you put into making that night's gathering a success. Thank you once again for going above and beyond to create such a fantastic evening.

The hosts were really kind to let me in even before they opened for the day. I reached here early directly from the airport. Loved the hospitality and great food. Highly recommend books and bricks to anyone visiting Srinagar

Books and Bricks Cafe: A Perfect Blend of Coffee, Books, and Tranquility. ✨ I recently had the pleasure of visiting Books and Bricks Cafe, and it was an experience that seamlessly blended my love for coffee and literature. This charming establishment offers a unique ambiance that caters to both the caffeine aficionado and the avid reader in search of a cozy retreat. The coffee at Books and Bricks Caffe deserves special mention. I indulged in a delightful Carmel cappuccino, and it left me thoroughly impressed. The balance between the rich espresso and the smooth caramel notes was simply exquisite. I would undoubtedly rate it a 9 out of 10 for its exceptional taste and perfect texture. One of the highlights of this café is the opportunity to immerse oneself in a book while savoring a cup of coffee. I found myself comfortably nestled in my own corner, engrossed in my chosen book, and enjoying every sip of my favorite brew. Apart from the coffee, I also had the pleasure of sampling the healthy grilled chicken with hummus. What made this dish stand out was its simplicity and taste. The absence of excessive oil and spices did not compromise the flavor; rather, it enhanced the natural essence of the tender chicken. I must also commend the staff at Books and Bricks Caffe for their exceptional service. The person serving me was not only sweet and friendly but also possessed extensive knowledge about the menu. Their recommendations and willingness to accommodate my preferences added a personal touch to the overall experience, making me feel genuinely welcome.

Food: I ordered the English breakfast. For kashmir, it's good. But not on the level I've had outside kashmir, and definitely not like something you'd have in Europe. Qudos to the cafe for providing the option. Overall I'd give a 3 for the food. But I have to agree with every other reviewer, that the coffee here is really good. I had a cup of black coffee, most likely an americano, didn't taste like filter coffee. But the aroma and the roast were so palpable. You could taste the fruitiness that kind kicks in at the end of the sip. Definitely the best coffee I've had in the city upto now.

A small but cosy cafe with a books theme. The menu is well thought out with good portion size. It may be a bit busy usually and that can impact waiting time , so best to grab one of the books while you wait. I ordered the club sandwich which came with a side of fries and a dip. The size of the sandwich was quite big and good for the price. The seating could be improved as it gets rather uncomfortable to sit for longer durations. Edit: added one more star after a visit during the breakfast service. Loved the entire breakfast menu.

Decent food but amazing service. I tried the American breakfast. The pancakes were better than many I've eaten in the last few years. The scrambled eggs were a bit bland but nice in a way. They did not go over the top with any of their foods, and focussed on the quality and taste by keeping it simple.

Lovely Cafe with really nice food. Thoroughly enjoyed my coffee, chicken sandwich and creamy Alfredo pasta. My all time favorite is their Rosy Carbonara with chocolate shake. Kids really enjoy their waffles and a cup of hot chocolate is a must on a cold wintery day. Mentioned above are my favourite must haves when visiting this cozy little cafe. Also I must add the service is impeccable, you'll thoroughly enjoy your time as you are always welcomed by warm smiles and great hospitality.
KITKAT SHAKE [5/5]: i have no words to describe its beauty! MUST ORDER, it literally feels like heaven. Thickness of this shake is just beyond anything. BESTEST KITKAT SHAKE IN Srinagar.

Pretty cool cafe, with a very nice ambiance. The food was very good, and they had captured some really good western flavors. Their brownies and desserts were especially delicious. There is slightly less seating and it can get loud.

I found this place when I was out with my gang,
It seemed like a cool place to chill and hang.
The menu had many options for us to choose,
We ordered pasta, burgers and shakes to do away with hunger blues.
The service was smooth and the food was nice,
But while eating we had to swat away the flies.
Knocking off a few stars for the same cause,
Though the food and service was worthy of applause.

Books and Bricks cafe is definitely a go to place for those who like quiet environment. It is usually less surrounded by people, but offers delicious pasta .Many items on the menu usually remain unavailable that is the main area they need to improve, change the menu or make those dishes available. That is the only reason I am giving only two stars

This place used to be my go to place when it opened. There is nothing more peaceful than enjoying good food while being surrounded by the musty smell of books that all book lovers love. However my recent experiences with the place haven't been that great sadly. On a recent trip I ordered pan cakes and was left quite disappointed as they tasted more like cardboard spread with Nutella. Also more than half the flavours on the menu weren't even available. The fruit salad I ordered was quite fresh and filling though also I didn't mind the generous scoop of vanilla it came with.

Well its a small restraunt but interior is good, food is delicious here .
They should play some good music here,
Every thing was just fine
Not so crowdy like other places.
Will visit again

Been to Books and Bricks a number of times and honestly the experience has decreased each time. The first time I went there, I thought it to be one of the best Cafés in kashmir. The food quality has decreased over the period of time and I would only suggest them to try a little harder.

Had a cup of masala tea, peri peri chicken burger and chicken pizza.. and i ate it all alone, 😂😂. Though i ate a lot, i think theres a room to improve. Everything looked so good and delicious, but if i give rating's i ll give them a 2 for food, and 3 for how the place looks. I didn't drink any shakes but @juiceboxjk is must a try.
I hope @booksandbrickscafe improves the food quality.

#food #burger #pizza #nonveg #tea #foodporn #foodlover #booksandbricks #wanderlust #kashmirbeauty #dailylifekashmir #travel #dailylifeasia #picoftheday #srinagar #kashmir #indiapictures #india #bestlife #worldtravelpics #travelphotography #traveldiary #instagram

I frequent here 2/7 days regularly. A very basic & rustic interior design. Whenever I get bored, I go to Books & Bricks to keep feeling alive & relevant. However, the menu requires extension of Indian cuisine besides ensuring that the average waiting time is reduced to 75% of what it is now (average 30 mins).

Everything is fine the food the place the only thing which irritates me the most is their service!!! The best thing about this place that I love is kit-kat oreo shake❤️

One of those places in kashmir where you dont need to be worried about the consistency of their preparations. Their shakes and fresh fruit juice blends are amazing. The food is good aswell. Juicy burgers ( you need to be very specific about the doneness of the patty ), great pizzas.

One of the recommended cafes in the city of srinagar

Never been to this place, but I regularly order lunch from here on kartfood. Love their grub, nice succulent burgers and prompt delivery. Packing is neat and orderly. I've heard good things about the ambiance and the location is also very convenient. One of my to-go places in Srinagar.

Went to this place on my trip to Kashmir. This was at a walking distance from my hotel and we thought of having dinner here one night. It's a petite, cute cafe with a lot to offer. Their shakes are amazing. We could just order one dish .i.e., a pasta and the quantity was so good that we couldn't finish it( by we i mean 3 people). The staff is very well mannered and it's a noce place to hangout. The place is done beautifully. Very minimalistic but chic.

I'm giving 3 stars and not 4 because a lot of things from the menu were not available but trust me I would definitely visit this place again next time I'm in Srinagar.
The no-nonsense café...

It's permanently on my must-go list whenever I get a chance to go to Srinagar.
The staff is courteous. The food is sumptuous. And the ambience is urbane & contemporary.
I particularly relish their American breakfast, the B&B special Pizza, the falafel wrap, the chiken burger and their coffees (all of 'em).
The number of seats is limited and therefore, the place almost fully occupied during evening hours.

Do give it a shot for the breakfast!

Been there several times... If I'm in srinagar I never miss a chance to visit books and bricks.

The food here is delicious..
It's a small restaurant but decorated nicely.

Burgers and pizzas here are mouth watering.

Service is a bit slow but it's worth the wait for some delicious food.
classic capaccino: bang on taste and presentation .

next we ordered Mexican chicken . the chicken breast was tender , typical Mexican chili effect although the sauce amount could have been reduced to half the quality. Too much sauce on 2 small chicken breast fillets looked like an over dose. With it came the mash rich was well seasoned and low on salt. good taste and well palatable. the side vegies we unfortunately less in quality and lost the crunch. over cooked (grilled or stir fried) .
pricing is acceptable to the amount served

over all the music was good and consistant. I was particularly impressed by the interiors as it reflected simple recycled products . lot of details out in

Great music. Great food and vibes. Banana and nutella waffle is yummy. Veg cheese pizza can be a little less cheesy. Little expensive but also unique considering the Srinagar city it is in.

Have visited this cafe twice and tried their cold coffee , cheezy fries , chicken burger , pasta , pizza and Oreo shake. Really happy with the food. Haven't had a better burger in Kashmir so far. On my second visit I had some complaints and I wrote it on the feedback. I was surprised on how quickly the management got in contact with me (the very same day) and that makes me really happy and one of my favourite places.
The ambience is really good and the song selection aswell.
