Loved the rotlo and tawa pulav. Missed the limited gujarati thali which was not available for dinner and next day no thali was available due to makar sankranti. Service could be a little better. Multiple business at the location.

This is one of the best restaurants for having North Indian meal. Their best thing is that they keep the taste subtle, not too spicy, good blend of spices in their main courses. Good place for family dine out . Its a bit costly for students but its worth spending your money here

The place was really crowded and we were lucky to get a table .<br/><br/>We ordered Ringan nu bhartu and lasaniya baraka. I was blown away by the great taste of both the dishes.<br/>The lasaniya bataka was the best I've ever had in a restaurant. It felt that it had a good amount of garlic.<br/>Ringan nu bhartu was equally awesome.<br/><br/>I also ordered Bhindi fry but it was not available at that time.<br/><br/>In punjabi subji I had ordered paneer chatpata and palak paneer.<br/>Paneer chatpata was good and palak paneer turned out to be a disappointment.<br/><br/>Their palak khichdi is the best . Also its quantity is great. And is kind of enough for a regular person .<br/><br/>The service was great.<br/>When the dishes didnt come for like 15 minutes I asked them and they said that they make all things fresh. And it really turned out to be great.<br/><br/>The rotla and rotis are served fresh and hot.

Best food with hygiene,once i ordered palak rice they told today palak wasnt that great so we cancelled palak rice for today.

An authentic place to have the fiery and peppy cuisine. The place has a minimalistic ally modest ambience and justifies the quote - "do not judge a book by its cover." Nonetheless the restaurant has garnered a loyal lunchtime clientele. If you do decide to give this place a try, don't forget to try out the kadhi khichdi and the sev tameta ki sabzi. Cheers!

Autheticity at its best. Ganthiya saak and palak khichdi were my favourites. The service is very quick and the waiters are well trained. The best part was how quickly the water was refilled without us asking for it. Wonderful.To summarise, its a simple, sober, neat, quality, authetic and very pocket friendly place.

Went their with friends for the mid night hunger attack! They were about to close but were very attentive and polite. Food of jalaram is unquestionably hygienic and excellent. Ambiance is decent.

One of the worst restaurants in surat when it comes to customer service and home delivery. Like really I order from them zillion times but have stopped doing that since a year now. My house is within 3 kms and they say that minimum delivery order should be 800 and above just wherein my order total was 520. Seriously, I think just because they have become monopoly is the reason of such reckless behavior. Will never recommend or visit this place ever.

Good place this is if you are not looking for something too fancy. The staff is cooperative and helpful and the service is prompt.<br/><br/>I ordered paneer afghani and roti. Felt like a little home cooked and I loved it. Would definitely go back again and eat there. Price wise also it is decent.

Jalaram Khichdi has always been a favorite khichdi spot for us! Dharmesh bhai and his team are extremely hospitable and they know how to prepare the best kathiyawadi / gujarati khichdi and saurashtrian food. Would recommend to visit and must try if you want simple yet tasty food.

Had 2-3 types of khichdis. The best I liked was palak khichdi and rajwadi one, which is as it is their recommended dish. I found the service a bit slow. I was there to have a take out and there was a little coordination between the guy taking orders and the guy giving the parcel.

Best place to eat for routine job personnel's. You get evrything as it is served at home. Masala khichdi is best of the all. No doubt the crowd during afternoon time is too much due to the taste.

Their kathiawadi dishes are truly delicious and very authentic! Nice ambience, though a little cramped. Staff is also quite courteous. But one big problem with this restaurant is lack of a washroom. There is one in the shopping complex, but it is extremely dirty! Quite surprising for an otherwise clean city like Surat!

Was hungry as hell when we reached there... We had palak khichdi, paneer butter masala, paneer bhurji and atleast 5 rotis and 12 parathas between 6 of us but was very very affordable like bill less 1000₹ which is totally worth it! So went to jalaram khichdi for khichdi and some Kadhi to accompany. But it had a balanced taste of all the spices and well cooked. They could give some more accompaniments with khichdi but it was good. Have eaten here or ordered from here so many times.. was working in Surat staying at a hotel near by so this was substitute to home food for several days as used to tell them to prepare with least oil possible.

In 2002 Nimesh Varnamia and his wife Sharmi set up a food truck selling just one item- Rajwadi Khichdi”. From that humble beginning they now have two restaurants under the brand name-Jalaram Khichdi serving authentic Gujarati, Kathiyawadi and Punjabi cuisine in the town. Higly recommended are the Kathiyawadi dishes of Baajri, Juvra and Lasaniya Rotla with Lasaniya Bataka and Butter milk. Also must have item on the menu is their Rajwadi Khichdi with Gujarati kadhi.

I had always heard about them serving amazing khichdi but never got a chance to visit.<br/><br/>Undeniably, it's THE best khichdi I've ever got to have. The mix of palak gravy cooked in less oil with rice, tiny paneer cubes and a thick layer of grated cheese served with Kadi . It was tasty, light and was just like home food.<br/><br/>We also ordered:<br/><br/>Veg. Kolhapuri, Mushroom Masala, Chapati and regular khichdi with Masala Papad because my sister wanted to eat punjabi and very absolutely delicious. Our total bill amount with areated drinks total upto Rs. 814/- The service was quick and the restaurant is super clean.<br/>.

This place had been my and my friends' fav place for dinner when we were studying at svnit. Food served is fresh and piping hot. U get all the Desi food but tastes yummy. Service is quick and efficient. Ambiance is ok-ish and the price point is decent enough.

Khichdi is a basic food considered it for Gujarati.<br/>They have a nice variety of  Gujarati food items and you must try Khichdi as this is what i love most there.

Food is good but very bad experience.<br/>I have specifically asked for no garlic no onion tava pulav but they have delivered with garlic and onion in it.<br/>My parent got panic after eating 2 bites. It's been years they have taken vow of not eating garlic and onions and it's been broken coz of jalaram khichdi.

Best khichchadi available in surat.  Good for Kathiyawadi and Gujarati food. <br/><br/>However, I have never tried any Punjabi dishes they served.

The place is known for the Kathiawadi cuisine more than anything. They have a variety of khichdi and various north Gujarati delicacies( lasaniya bataka, sev tameta etc). I wouldn't really put my money on the other cuisines they serve apart from the Gujarati food. Seasonal Undhiyu is something they serve, although I've never tried it. Very budget friendly and has a feeling of home cooked food to the various dishes they serve.

Having heard a lot about their masterstroke Khicdi since long, went thru the outlet at Adajan at urgent choiceless situation. The Masala Khicdi with Kadi is something really mouth watering. At the time of Burgers, Pizzas, Pastas and other non-Indian delicacies, serving authentic Gujarati Kichdi and holding onto the ground is really to be appreciated. I propose u should try it once and relish the favor the dish delivers. I would have easily give 5 star.. But the serving staff stole the 0.5 star. Thank you Team Jalaram Kichdi

This is a great place for when you're too lazy to cook/bored of hostel food and want some "ghar ka khaana"! Love the 'lasaniya bataka' here. The service is pretty quick. The ambience is ok. All the items are perfectly priced- you'll be full AND it won't burn a hole in your pocket!

Good food....decent place...rajwadi kichidi was tasty.... Only problem is you need to wait for your turn on as always crowded...but once you get in you won't repent for waiting

The food item worth having here is 'palak khichdi' its good..I can say its a mixture of palak paneer and jeera rice. But its fun to eat.<br/>As far as other food items are concerned.. One of the most overrated places I have been at. Overpriced and not worth the money. The ambience, well there is no ambience! It's a small congested shop with shabby service and over the top pricing. The Khichdi was very average, and could hardly manage to finish it! Try avoiding this one....

Before I visited this place, I didn't know one can have so many varieties in something as simple as khichdi! These guys are the best in the one product they make. I ate some of best khichdis of my life here [The other best ones being Khichdi of Premvati at Gandhinagar Akshardham and the home khichdi made by my mom.. :)]<br/><br/>This is really a place to visit if you are in Surat and love this simplest food on earth - khichdi.. :) The only negative about this place is it is very congested. That's a nice but conjusted place to be. Food is all time good here curries are nice typical taste is there which we would like to have. Gujarati dishes are tasty here and so are the punjabi dishes. Khichdi here is awesome here specially paalak khichdi. It goes as per it's name and lives that standard which is nice and also it's good for Pocket as well.

One thing i love the most about this place is that they offer variety of indian breads such as roti's, theplas, rotals etc. specially my father loved this place and food.

Jalaram is a nice mid range place that serves great Gujarati and Punjabi dishes. They have set thalis as well. It is one of the better restaurants in Surat and the food tastes great.
