Review Yara Di Haveli - Surat

darshan arora
A open garden type restaurant in Surat behind Valentine Mall . Ambiance is like Punjabi dhaba . Desi food with all authentic taste of Punjab & a pure vegetarian. Soya chaap Lahori & Afghani is best . Dal Makhni & missi Roti , Tandoori paneer kulcha & tandoori aaloo parontha must try . Paneer dishes are too yum & if you are health conscious you can tell them to use less oil in vegetables. Attentive staff & clean surroundings. If you are dhaba food lover must try this restaurant in Surat .

It's a great place to hangout and have good food. Open to sky (when it's not raining) . Vegetarian options. Have joy of sitting on a char-pai., चारपाई

It is at dumas road, opposite central mall, behind sai baba temple. Great location with all types of varieties of food like punjabi, Chinese, south Indian etc.there is open sitting area and also for party presentation. Bit slower service when there is crowd but its ok when you are st such place. Quality and quantity of food is ok but we had issue in bill and complained to manager so he agreed and gave few complimentary coffee and pizza on roof of haveli and enjoyed lot.

If you Soya Chaap, I hear Yara di haveli. Best place in Surat for Soya chap. Really great food quality. Also, they have an authentic punjabi taste, all thanks to the owners. Atmosphere is also great. Proper North Indian vibes, not in just food, but in place too.

First time I tried pure punjabi restaurant. It was amazing experience. . Seating arrangements are as pure punjabi Dhaba. Then staff was good. . Boti Kabab for starters, Paneer Multani for main course was fabulous. Nominal rate. I love it.
Gaurav Trivedi
Loved the dining place - it’s an open to air dhaba kind of set up and makes you feel you are in lap of Punjab. The ambiance, stewards, chefs all are punjabi and best authentic punjabi joint. They offer the best chaps - specially paneer tikka. Don’t order chhole Bhature - not worth trying. They offer non-alcoholic beverages which are awesome. Must try place

We went for dinner, had heard lot of good reviews about this place. Food was quite good, though we didn't try many things. Sarso saag and malai kofta was quite good.
Kitchen is open and visible to see the good level of hygiene.
Prachi Patel
We went here for birthday celebration and had great time. Ambience is good and staff is also polite. We didn't have much food but we tired Sizzlers over here which was good in taste.
Parth Kinkhabwala
Dum aloo is not jst boil potatoes inside gravy. It hassed to be nicely stuffed boiled potato which was made in a totally wrong way. Yara di havelli is 100% not resembling the true punjabi taste.

Afghan chaap was really ok... masala was way too less and Hyderabadi biryani was comparatively better... service was quick and experience was good... it was altogether an open restaurant feeling so precisely you feel like you are eating in a dhaba

The service was really bad. The food arrived 1 hour after we placed the order. The main course took them another 1 hour. Really disappointed.
Brijesh Solanki
Worst service I ever received . For first 20 minutes no one came to take order. You have to wait 30-40 minutes for every sabji. You have to ask 3-4 times even for salad.
Purva Patel
Supper fantastic food. The perfect taste of Panjabi food (100% pure vegetarian) finally found in Surat. Their special dish chaap is fabulous.
I tried malai chaap and it was awesome. In winter season must try "Makke di roti Sarso ka saag" .
All and all great taste. The food is incomplete if you don't order Lassi. Wow, Lassi is so thik and creamy. And The sitting arrangements are good, just like typical dhaba (Table with khatiya). Their staff are so friendly and I like their service too.

If you are a fan of authentic punjabi food then you must visit this place. They serve some best tandoor dishes varying from chaap to tikkas. It is set in a desi style with seating of khaat out in open. Only problem could be mosquitoes so remember to wear fully covered clothes.
We ordered afghani chaap which was succulent enough to make you go ummm..
In main course we had ordered Paneer methi malai which was the best of other two sabzis.
Even parathas, naan and kulchas were cooked really well.
Another must try thing is buttermilk - masala chhas

I ordered Veg. Handi Biryani...and very foul smell was coming from it. The veggies in the biryani were stale. Whole biryani had to be diposed. Very bad

Nice place to visit with the family and friends. Food quality is also good. Must visit this place to feel the tadka of Punjabi dhaba.

Ambiance : 4/5
Food Quality : 4/5
Price : 3.5/5
Service : 4/5

Excellent Food... Fast Service... The Ambience is perfect for an Evening Time out with Family or Friends... I love the Dhaba style seating arrangement... Reminds us of our childhood vacation days spent at our Village in Gujarat...
Manishamehta01695
The place gives us the feel of Punjab, the khatala, the person serve the food are dressed as Punjabi looks awesome. The service and the staff is nice. The food in which I had hara bhara kabab and afghani chaap both were okay in taste.
Lokesh
We went to haveli for the ambience and a setting where the group could sit and enjoy a conversation. It did not disappoint at all. The food was average just like any other restaurant. But the dahi starter really stood out. It was vegetables marinated in curd filled in the bread cover and deep fried. Super awesome. Main course was a routine affair. Service was very good and prompt. Staff was very courteous and helpful.
Kritiyamika.kanwal
Lively place... khat n auto seating are good... now food: makki ki roti, sarson ka saag, kadhi chawal are must haves! And we ordered various other items which tasted good too. Only the chhash needs improvement... peeke kuch mazza ni aya!

Amazing,

I tried Tandoori Khazana.... It was worth a try... Superb

Taste - Great,
Quantity -Amazing,
Ambience - very nice.
(Including live singing performance...)

Just one mistake... I ordered Dahi KE Kabab... After this... Don't do it... First of all you need 3-4 members to try some other verities after this... And we we're just two... So we we're full and Dahi KE kabab also had the same kababs , you get to eat in Tandoori Khazana combo...

They are completely Vegetarian

Twisting Scoops which is a part of Yaara di Haweli situated at Piplod is single stop for happiness. I bet you will not leave the place without having a big smile on your face. It is a small place which offers Turkish ice ceam. It has a opening on both sides which is on main road and also from inside the restaurant to cater the in house guest.
Vansh Pathria
Best chaaps and kebabs available here.... No match if the taste available in surat.! For a vegetarian this is like a heaven to go everyday! You must try Dahi de kebab, lahori chaap and tangdi kebab
Jasmine Dugar
If you want to have heavenly north Indian food and that's all in your mind, go for it. Don't expect a eye catching ambiance or set up. Its a decent place with helping staff and delicious food. Good place to done with family.

Owner attitude is very rude & Not customer friendly. We were 9 and one table have 6 sitting he arrange 3 other chair but not join two tables and asking & requesting denied rudly. Almost 80% restaurant was empty still denied.

Food was ok . Not suggested . No customer service at all.
Deven Tekrawala
Different Menu..
Open Kitchen..
Food taste is good for starters and Kulcha
Main course and veg is average...
Price is bit high looking to food, ambiance and services.
Vicky2911
First thing I would like to say owner should understand that he is running restaurant not langar he can’t say to guest that sit there and here I went today with my whole family and 80 percent seats are empty still they say sit there sit here. Anyways food is okay. but owner should not so proud of it he should also focus on making smilei on customer face by posing smile on his face too. And rate highly expensive 10 % higher than menu pic showed on Zomato. Owner is focusing only on guests who come with more than 10 people they are not interested in two or five people.
Shahkinjal1987
I wish I could give a zero rating or in negative..the most unhygienic place I have ever been too..
My experience of ordering the dal was horrible..b ordered a dal only to get a watery one with too much of extra salt..but as v understand chefs are human v politely asked them to change, in reaction to which all the waiters came in our table and tasted the dal from our bowls and then after calling the manager v could manage to return the dal for replacement..( not considering tht v were already in middle of dinner )
In about 2 mins they came back with the same dal with added water and half quantity to which we confronted to them but they refused to accept..
Finally we asked the owner to please look into the matter and got it replaced which was still not up to the mark but by that time we were too hungry with kids accompanying us..
We finished the dinner and were horrified to see the most unhygienic part ...the waiter took the pickle and onion bowls from our table and kept it aside on a platform and served it in the other table..
Request all to avoid this place to be healthy

Just visited this place two days back just to get the feel of sitting on cots for dinner. The food is good but I feel its overpriced for an open air restaurant. Starter cost around 250 & just 4 pieces. Same with biriyani which costed around 300 & they gave in a small pot.
Bhatia
it all spice it up when you enter. who wouldn't love sitting on Traditional cot under open sky. Great Ambiance, Delicious food.

Experience the Punjabi taste in surat
Mukesh Methiwala
Very bad experience, not respecting the choice and requirement of customer.Inspite of vacant space on bed(khatlo) not allowing to seat on it ,if you go 4 to 5 pax they insist you to seat on plastic table & chair which has no logic of dhaba and yaara.
just third class, unprofessional staff ,not worth for spending money.
Abhishek Agarwal
worst place. Staff was drunk and you could smell it from afar. Took almost an hour for a papad to be delivered. Frustrated when we asked the order to be cancelled the owner was more than happy to let us leave. Manchow soup was cold and bland, mozzarella sticks had cheese as mementos in it. Visit only if you are okay if it takes ages for order to reach you. Highly disappointing experience. Management is lethargic and stafff is hopeless.
Vinay Joshi
When you reach this restaurant, you find yourself in Punjab. Pure desi dhaba style ambience and fast service with fresh and authentic Punjabi aromatic food. Tried Dahi ke kebab in starter, it's too yummy, never tried before. In main course tried a paneer dish, nothing special. Overall good experience, recommended especially for authentic Punjabi food. (Don't expect too much cleanliness here.)
Dharmesh Vinaykumar Barfiwala
Food is Good and delicious but discount on Axis card given only 10% against promise of 15% so it is disappointing me so hotelier should confirm with banker before tie up with banks regarding discount rate

Amazinggg Food. Loved the desi ambience of dhaba. Service is good and quick. Staff is friendly. Enjoyed the live music with open air seating arrangement. Veg lollipop is must try. Food was really delicious. Though, some authentic sweet dishes can be added to the menu.
Great place to have dinner with family and friends.

Great place to hang out with friends and family! The seating arrangement was quite good. I like especially their dal Bukhara and kheer and live song

Having a Dhaba-like setup in the heart of the city might not always be a good idea but still "Yaara di haweli" provides you a different experience compared to routine fine dine restaurants found in abundance.
Starting with PROs: Novelty (ofcourse), tasty North Indian food.
CONs: I found it a little overpriced for a Dhaba-like setup. It seems a little packed, you may not get the real feel of an "under the sky" Dhaba. Mosquitoes may trouble you sometimes 😉
Overall: Average!
Anand Mehta
Awesome place for vegan people to enjoy non-veg.
Must try dishes tangdi, boti kebab, amritsari chaap.
Best taste ever, but quantity is very less.
Ambiance is cool.
Staff is also good.
Always ready to visit thia place

Pocket friendly place with open seating love that khat seating... Taste is really awesome a perfect place for we all friends to hangout a great experience
Preet Upadhyay
Cool Name 😂😂 perfectly mild spicy and tangy taste loved it! And they really have good Punjabi Food! It is more like the proper punjabi dhaba! But with more cleanliness!
Vishwanil
Overrated DHABA with basic facility and Inconsistent food. AVOID IT.

Some recipes are good-very good BUT our " 'Namak' Lababdar" was too much SALTY & SPICY.

Location :: 8/10
Ambience :: 6/10 (So-So)
Food :: 6/10 (No Consistency)
Service :: 5/10 (So-So)
Value :: Not really.

Go for Enjoy, Avadh, and others for PUNJABI FOOD.
Food was great.... We ordered Machurian dry, paneeer chilly and masala papad as starters. Manchurian was delicious; Nicely tossed in spices served wid green medium spicy chutney which tasted great along wid a tinge of lemon. And in main course we had Paneer tawa masala and their special dal makhani.
As it was thursday night, Theme was candle light dinner and we pretty much enjoyed it! Talking about ambiance it was above average and service was good!
Yash Chauhan
Great place to hangout with friends and family! This is strictly not for singlet go-eaters! You need to go with gluttons out there, enjoy the live music nights and have some delicious Punjabi Dhaba style cuisine. It is purely comfort food. Can't get better than this! Some more authentic dishes can be "promoted" to add to the excitement (apart from the regular paneer dishes)

All in all Great food experience!

I found Yara Di Haveli while browsing through Zomato and looking for a new place to eat.

It's an outdoor place with traditional dhaba-like seating which really helps take the ambience up a notch. The managers as well as waiters are extremely polite and the service is quick.

For all you veggies out there, their Boti Kebabs (originally made of mutton) were the first 'vegetarian' kebabs which came close to delicious. Make sure to order more as one plate will be enough for a maximum of 3 people. For main course, we ordered Cheese Lababdar and Pahadi Chaap Masala. The Pahadi Chaap Masala (it consists of marinated soya chunks in gravy, I found it recommended by others on Zomato frequently) was my try at being adventurous and if you like traditional Indian flavours, you'll find it good too—something unique I haven't found anywhere else in Surat. The Cheese Lababdar was good too (cheese is always good!). You could give the rumali rotis a miss as they weren't as soft as one would expect them to be (better to go with naan or tandoori rotis).

All in all, I'd dine here again due to the combination of above average food, exceptional service and pocket-friendly prices (no service tax + 15% discount for students—don't forget to show your ID card at the time of payment).

Happy eating!
Kinjal Shah
The place is good but the rate of dishes are very high and not upto the mark accordingly to the place he is not giving any five star service and food is good but when there is rush the food quality is zero very bad this people doesn't satisfy the customer when there is rush
Alok Pareek
I was thr for my own bday party with lots of expectations and I was satisfied. Food is good ...especially soya chap...I had boti kebabs n it was awesome..dal .roti.sabji all were gud...now the prob is that starters n chaps r kool.i found sabji bit normal. .it was nt the one with rich gravy.though the taste was gud....nice place can surely visit multiple times
Palak Madhwani
Ambiance is amazing
Open to sky
A bit of Highway Dhaba feel
Quality of food is decent
Chap is a famous dish of theirs. But it is better on a non weekend day.
On a weekend we didn't enjoy it as much.
Other regular Punjabi items on the menu are decent.
Seating : both options are there normal table as well as Khatla.
Staff is okayish. Service is also okayish.
Karran R Kapoor
This place has brilliant ambience. You feel like you are on the highway. The music is good and the Soya chaap is a must try. The dal rice and lassi remind you of Punjab. Pure vegetarian though it is a must visit during winters especially.

Edit : visited thrice after the above. Somehow it has changed a lot. Too much masala in everything and very dim light. Cant see my food.
Crispystories
If you want some outdoor seating and proper dhaba type ambience then this is the place. With warm staff and punjabi music this place is a delight with friends. Do try there Dahi de kabab as they are delicious.

Good ambience, Good food..
Ok in service. (2 * for this)
But as I was in a happy state so everything was good.(1*)
Great music felt me as in punjab da dhada, jst missed 1 or 2 trucks for the exact feel of any dhaba.(1*)

I have been to the place around 16 time."excellent chaap o m g. I can't explain become big fan of yara di haveli. Owner of the restaurant is very good person and yes the staff are also very good. Please please have dinner once in this classic Restaurant.
Thank you
This place offers you a different ambience than any other restaurant, been there with family few times to enjoy nice punjabi food. The staff is courteous and the food is tasty, specialities are paneer items and dal makhani.
Hetang Prajapati
Heard alot about this restaurant, its very nice. They serves almost all food in Punjabi and Chinese, the environment is of dhaba type. The seating is on khatla. Light was less. We enjoyed ipl match there on projector and environment was friendly. The taste is good and it's value for money type. Not so costly. Had Good time.
Harihar Lacewala
Open sitting arrangements, covered kitchen. Freshly made Punjabi food. Must try their chaaps, fully vegetarian. Food might take a while to arrive as it is freshly prepared but that can be improved. You must visit if you like Punjabi food.
Purvisha Sutaria
This place gives you the real dhaba feeling sans the crowd at dhabas. It's a nice place to sit, relax and enjoy your dinner under the sky in the cool breeze. I always go sit on the chaarpais for the extra comfort. The seasonal sarso da saag is sooo sooo good. I make it a point to visit them in the winters just for this! The place is decently priced and a nice place for a family dinner.

Been to the place thrice and the watchman is sucha sweet person- he makes it a point to say welcome as you enter and good night, thank you every time as you leave.
Dev Shroff
A decent restaurant with punjabi dhabha style ambience. The food is good. The choice of food is also good. It's cooked in a live kitchen. It's cooked in traditional tandoor and it tastes decent. I really love the Gulab Jamun & Rolls at this place. The ambience is punjabi dhabha style which is very nice for winters. The service is quick and efficient.
Palak Desai
One thumb rule I religiously try to follow is to not eat out on weekends. In my experience the quality and the service are often bogged down with all the crazy rush.

However, on a dreary Sunday to satiate my sister's hunger, we all ended up at Yara DI Haveli. The ambience is soothing and well lit. The weather was good and added to the whole "Dhaba" style vibes of the place.

Service was quick and the staff was co-operative. We ordered a couple of starters and "chaap" on the owner's recommendation. The portion size is good and the rolls fill you up. For the main course we order a mix vegetable subzi which was plain bland, but the tender and well spiced paneer tikka subzi made up for it. I especially liked the rich Dal Makhani.

We went all out with Gulab jamun, my parents seemed to like it. The overall experience was warm and filling. Prices are reasonable in comparison to the service, quantity and quality of the food.

Pro Tip: Visit this place only when mercury is not in retrograde.
Ks6274_TechnicalFoodie
Been there yesterday with my friends for dinner.
I must say its awesome place to enjoy Punjabi food.
The ambience is relaxing...open air and atmosphere with melodious songs..
The staff is co-operative and capable enough to suggest and explain the food items.
For the main part - FOOD.
we ordered 'tangadi chaap' for starters. It was really delicious and had a very perfect mixture of spices, we just craved for more..
For man course, we ordered 'paneer angaara', as the name suggests it was served sizzling hot.. It had the right quantity to feed all 3 of us twice. The taste was excellent, the gravy was spicy and paneer was tender, we enjoyed it with 'lachha paratha'.
To end up our meal, we ordered :special biryani'..the only motive to order this one was because it had 'chaap' and 'paneer' so we couldn't resist. The biryani was delicious, with right quantity and superior taste.
The overall experience I had here was one of the best, my taste buds were satisfied.
I would recommend this place to all who wish to enjoy the open air dhaba environment, in this cool season to enjoy sizzling hot food.
I would recommend the 'tangadi chaap' and 'special biryani' it's really worth trying.
As far as cost is concerned, its is reasonable enough..
Keep up the good taste..
Ravi Parakh
Loved the dhabba environment in the corner of the city...the typical dhabba serves a good punjabi food and as its open to air with the desi khats it gives a perfect feel of a dhabba. The food here is quite tasty.
MANAN SHAH
A good but remote place...set up made like Delhi dhabas...coming to the food- soup n starters r too good but quantity of starters is not upto the mark...I have had ordered Dahi kabab based on Zomato reviews n it was really good...Paneer tikka roll was also good...but main course was not at all satisfactory...sarso da shak was like for those who had not tasted earlier! Makke di roti was burnt at frequent points...mainly they do not charge like dhabas! It is not correct to take 10% service charge in dhabas even! Cost for two (rs 400) mentioned here is illusive! It may be approx 800 INR...!
Nirav Gadhiya
We three friends had been here on sunday evening. Inspite of rush service was good.
We ordered cream tomato soup which hardly had any taste.
For main course we had 'Haveli Special Paneer', which didnot have any speciality in it.Butter naan was good.
Punjabi kadhi with rice was not worth,as we have better taste of kadhi at our homes.
Lassi was mere curd with lot of sugar added to it.
Overall average food not worth of its price.
Vidisha
I have been there for around 3 to 4 times, everytime with my family. Its a good place for family dinner. The main concept of a typical road side or say highway side dhaba is completely justified by their location and the ambiance (the chaarpai). Although the location being a silent place they could add to the joy of dinner by playing some soothing songs or some dhol as played at times in dhabas.Service offered is good enough. The starters arn't that great but the full course meal and desserts are worth it. Chinese ain't their flavour but punjabi dishes are yum.
Food Diary

Visited this place twice, once it was inaugurated
And again as a regular visit.
First visit to this impressed me but second visit disappointed me because of lack of service.
Staff was not able to handle the waiting as well as dine in crowd. Chaps are one we try out once. Quantity served is not up to the mark. Taste is good

I have been to this place around 4 times now. A decent place to have punjabi cuisine. We tried paneer tikka which I loved a lot! For main course we had Veg Kofta which was not really good. The gravy was too tangy and koftas had nothing in them!!! But overall... Quick service...and a decent place to visit if you want to have some punjabi food and want to give those swanky fine dines a miss!

We went to this restaurant last week and found the food to be reasonably good. However, some of the curries were a tad spicy and soggy. Overall, a good experience though.

we went to yaar di haveli it look like typical punjabi restuarant the ambience was ok we order dahi kebab , soya chap and kheer . so lets talk about dahi kebab it looks like chicken from outside but it was vegetarion and it was stuffed with paneer and cheese and it was super tasty . than we order soya chap it taste very bad it has flavour of only chat masala and the texture is very chewy like an rubber i hate it .now it is turn of sweet we order kheer .we think that it will be warm but when the waitor give the kheer it was not warm . but the staff was nice .i will surely recomend you to eat at this place but please dont order soya chap .

The place tries to be a typical punjabi dhaba with charpais and low tables and waiters wearing pathan suits....the food is good which is the best part...not oily or heavy on the spices...balanced and sumptuous...location is good but cleanliness is not maintained...the restrooms are a mess...they have good live music on tuesdays...worth going for the taste ... Can improve on the ambience

Monotonous and Poor service..The ambience isnt That Good..starters are worth having but main course takes away your joy..Worth for a small gathering but not for grand parties..The menu is Limited.

Yara di haveli is one of those restaurants that's acquiring patrons solely by the word of mouth!. Located off the main dumas road, it's not easy to find it unless you've been to the place before. The place itself is an anatopism in a city like Surat; you won't find many such restaurants. The roadside Dhaba decor, the al fresco seating with manji/khaat/charpoy and the music - you'll probably wonder whether you're in Surat or Punjab!.

Another nice thing that I liked about the restaurant is the glass partition for the see-through kitchen; not only does it assure you of the hygiene, it also increases the anticipation and takes you closer to the sensory experience.

One of the USP of haveli is their soya chaap, a corruption of chop ( for instance mutton or leg chop). Over time, the highly tonal Punjabi language changed chop into chaap. A Punjabi delicacy, it's a boon for the vegetarians who'd like to have something similar to meat. I had ordered Afgani chaap and tawa tikka masala. The chaap wasn't as tender and juicy as it's supposed to be, but they got it right with the gravy/curry. The spices, the aroma and the flavour all made you longing for more. The afgani chaap could have had a more creamy texture and a tandoori aftertaste. Apart from these, it was a near perfect experience: an evening in Punjab with Punjabi food!.

One word : Too worst. Service is very poor but ambience is very nice. Food is not at all worth right from the starters to main course. Tell them 7 times to bring 1 glass of water. My first and last visit. My worst food at all times

Oye Yaara Tussi Dil Khush Kar Ditta!!!

Amazing restaurant, Authentic Punjabi Food...
But damn the menu man!!!
How the heck, are they able to make chap from Roomali roti, yaar!!!

Seriously, you'll not be able to make the difference between the "Chap" and their "chap"...

The food isn't oily, the paneer they use is constantly soft, there has never been when it's consistency has changed, the palak, mmmm, just lip smacking!!!

Real great ambience. A perfect dhaba type exposure. Real good food as well. Not that expensive as well. The rolls and chaap are real good. Pure vegetarian but worth it!! Must try

I have been to this places several times. Pure Punjabi dhaba type restaurant. Food is also very nice. Ambience is also good. It has few varieties of Rolls which you must have. Also it's Chaap is a Speciality. That's pure Veg Soya Chaaps, so don't worry, it's pure veg. But you should surely try it. I love it's Chaap. I also had Rajma Chawal, which is also Yummm.. Must visit for Purely Punjabi Cuisine..
