Shree Durga Snacks is a small outlet in Naupada, Thane West. They serve Vada Pav, Samosa Pav, Misal Pav, Medu Vada- Sambhar- Coconut Chutney, Idli- Sambhar- Coconut Chutney and Chilled Lemon Juice. The Lemon Juice is so soothing. It helps in better digestion of food and helps in relieving acidity. The other food items are served hot. They are delicious as well. The outlet is always crowded and famous for Vada Pav. The food items and beverage is very affordable. Though this place is so crowded, the staff members are still polite. If you are in Naupada, visit this outlet and try Chilled Lemon Juice !

Durga Snacks is one of my favorite..Their misal is very very very amazing..I guess it is better than mamledar misal..Their misal was not at all very spicy or oily..It was perfect....their prices are also very reasonable

With no seating but a standing counter helps customers relish the good food the snack centre serves.
The menu is concise but upto the mark.
I had been here to try the vada usal - good , not very spicy dish
Misal is also good and can be tolerated by many.
Medu wada is very nice , chutney is watery but you can request for a thicker version. Sambar could be better.
But the show stopper is idli - very fluffy , soft and wonderful. One of the best idlis I ever had 👌

So it was in our bucketlist since a very long time. It is always crowed its streetfood serving hotel which has maintained its taste we had samosa usal and lemonade. The lemonade here is very famous its only of rs10.
So being a thanekar you should definately visit this place!!

Had the wada sambar, wada pav and the lemonade.
The wada in the wada sambar was very good. Great thing about this place is the food keeps coming in batches is always hot and fresh.
The sambar and chutney were ok - but at 30 odd bucks it's super value for money.
The wada pav has a light crispy batter which is a hall mark of a good wada. The mixture has the right amount of spice.
The lemonade is simply superb - perfect way to cool down the spice.

Thanekars must be aware of this small snacks corner on Gokhale road.If you stay around or walking back home from station it mandatory to stop here and taste there amazing vada pav and samosa pav.One should try there limboo sarbat after eating snacks just like you eat deserts after main course.Limboo sarbat is chilled and so soothing i guarentee you wont be satisfied with one,im sure you will order for 2 to cool down your body in such a hot and humid weather .Because this is what i do all the time.All the fried items are fresh and super hot throughout the day.There chutney is quiet tempting.Its a snack center where you eat on the go.There is no proper seating but thats fine.I hope this review is helpful to you all.

Hungry after your sunday shopping in Naupada. Craving for some piping hot vadapavs and cool lemonade. Head to Durga snacks to satisfy your stomach and soul. Serving passerbys long since my childhood, Durga snacks has been my go to place for comforting vadapavs. It's always packed with people and also is very cheap. The vadapavs cost ₹15 and the soothing lemonade costs just 10 bucks. Keep up the great food!

One of my favourite vadapav joint in my street food list. They serve best food such as vadapav misal Pav and many more. If your hungry for good quality and quantity snack you should definitely visit this restaurant. Friendly and cooperative management in the restaurant the restaurant is good to go .

This restaurant is a blessing to Thanekars to have some good quick bites and amazing refreshments drinks.
Food: Wada pav, samosa pav, medu, usal, anything you name it and yes lime water are some of the special dishes from here. My personal favourite is plain samosa. Their coconut and dry chutney are good accompaniment which will definitely make you have more than one.
Do take a parcel if possible or have it there itself which is a bit crowded suring peak hours.

Rains have arrived in Mumbai so rain and vada pav, can it get better than this?? Vada pav from Durga snacks, Thane which is one of the oldest place in Thane to serve such lip smacking, tasty vada pav and red chutney. Vada pav, Parle G and homemade adrak wali chai in the monsoon season are an unbeatable combination leaving you fully satiated and happy.😋😋. My stomach is thanking me!! Was Ordered The “BatataWada Udal Pav & Medu Wada Sambar” With Lemon Juice The Combination Of Food And Lemon Juice Was Amazing. This Snack joint is directly opposite to me and I have been eating here since I was 6 years old. The way they have maintained the same taste and impeccable hygiene is worth an applause.

One of the best Vadapav joint in Thane. Vadapav and Lemon Juice is the best combination you can have. Sometimes the Misal is bit watery. Medu Vada Is also really crunchy. The coconut chutney is also good.The place is much crowded in the evenings. I have been eating here since 7-8 years but the taste hasn't change.
Food is delicious, as always. Personally, I love the lime juice offered in glass milk bottles. It is refreshing and perfectly chilled. On the downside, since the place is small, it can get crowded pretty quickly and may get uncomfortable to stand and eat.

If i am in thane, i love to go this place for Misal Paav... this food place is always crowded but still service is fast.. food taste is awesome like misal pav, samosa, batata vada... they serve it fresh.. and that to also very reasonable cost... staff is also very nice, well behaved and efficient.. do visit here..
This place is located on gokhle road , walkable distance from Thane railway station. I had been here since last 7-8 years. Place is always crowded, still they have fast service. They maintain taste & hygeine.
Owner is south Indian. They served Vadapav, samosa, misal, usual, vadausal, samosa sambhar, idali - medu Vada, limbu paani. I almost try every item.
I don't like there misal paav bcz it's not spicy the way I liked it. My personal favourite is Vada usal, samosa, samosa sambhar. They served limbu paani in bottles which look & taste really good.
Prices are reasonable. 100 rs enough for two people.

I have seen many shops on Gokhale Road started and shut down but one shop which is unchanged from past 18-20yrs is the Durga Snacks. It's runned by South Indians native to Karnataka.
I have tried each and every dish listed on the menu @ Durga Snacks. But my favorites are-
Misal Paav - Their Misal is not so spicy but tastes good. Its good to have tasty misal rather than regular spicy misals available in Thane. **recommended**
Vada Paav - You get decent sized Vada Paav for 13rs which has very good taste.
Vada Usal - Very good combination of tasty Vada & Usal
Idli/Medu Wada - Being a South Indian I usually do not have idlis from hotel (simply because my mom makes the best) but I have tasted from my friends plate and it was good. Idli and wada both were fresh and sambar too tasted well.
Nimbu Paani - There has not been a time I have crossed Gokhale Road and have not had refreshing Nimbu Paani from Durga Snacks. From past 18-20yrs the taste of Nimbu Paani has not changed and is inch perfect.
Coconut Chutney - It's the South Indian coconut chutney which they serve with all dishes (except with misal and usal) is very tasty and goes well with Vada Paav and others.
Though the place is crowded the cleanliness is also taken care of.
All in all very good vintage Vada Paav shop of Thane and do try it.

Located on Gokhale Road ,have been visiting this place since I was a kid. Normally crowded this place offers fresh and hot food. Run by Shetty Anna this place offers each and every dish which is good and hygienic as well.
Misal Pav :- Not like any Maharashtrian Misal which is spicy or lip smacking , but a decent one moderately spicy and enough for one.
Wada Usal:- Batata Wada offered in Misal' Usal.
Idli / Medhu Wada :- Two pieces of soft and big Idli/Medhu Wada offered with Coconut Chutney and Dry Lasun Chutney.
Batata/ Kanda Bhaji :- Similarly hot Bhajis offered with Dry Lasun and Coconut Chutney.
Lime Juice:- Fresh Lime juice offered in old milk bottles is the highlight of this place.
P.S:- This place is located on a busy Gokhale Road where you won't find parking anytime + you need to stand and eat as there's a small katta where you need to keep your plate.
The food served is fresh and hot and have been visiting this place since 17-18 years, it remains the same and never had any taste or body issues having the food over here.

This place is iconic and best known for all its items. They are sold out on most of the items by 8 in the evening. The vada pav with the crispy garlicky vada and the chutney with crunchy bits is a treat. The soft idlis with sambhar or the media vada with sambhar it plays well to your south indian cravings as well. The missal is with the tadka on top is spicy and gives a zingy feeling. The best part lemon sherbet with just perfect mixture of lemon sugar and water is just refreshing . With all this in a small gala, there is never any problem regarding the service or cleanliness of the place. Kudos to Shree Durga for maintaining their high standards for all these years

This place has been my favorite since my childhood. Located in the vicinity of Thane Station, it is mostly packed with people having their snacks. It is impossible to control yourself from having a Vada Pav whenever you are passing by this place. The highlight of this place is their White Coconut Chutney and the Lemon Juice obviously the Fresh Hot Snacks 💙

This place is quite famous amongst thanekars for its legendary batata Wada and samosa.. You will get to see a queue as soon as the place opens up.. Had batata Vada for breakfast.. The taste was really good.. Just a bit spicy.. Need to try their samosas as well..
2 visits in 2 days, could have been more if we would have stayed in Thane more. This place doesn't need intro, Small joint with no tables, serves fresh Maharashtrian snacks. Vada Pav, Samosa, Misal, Idli, Dosa, and many more. It's a breakpoint for daily office, students, visitors, marketeers for a fresh cheap quick snacks. The simple plain lime juice is not to be missed. Is crowed most of the time, but there is no waiting period, as you are served as soon as you place order.
Once more the trail moved towards the desi Mumbai food, the vadapav. This time, it was Durga snacks. Decades old, we have been here on a lot of occasions. Especially for their vada-pavs and limbu sherbet! The vadapav here is a totally lip-smacking delight with a perfect spice and flavour. The limbu sherbet is pretty decent too! This time, for a change, it was the Misal which took us by the fancy! The misal too managed to live upto our expectations. Spicy, delicious and perfectly luscious, we found it to be just the correct one. Not as spicy as the Mamledaar misal, this one is the alternative which you can opt for in case you have a subtle taste. Overall, a decent place for catching up on some snacks!

Was craving for Vada Pav through out the day yesterday so asked my cousin about some place in thane which serves good Vada Pav. We were in Thane Naupada area for some work in the evening & too my delight had the opportunity to eat here. Fresh & hot Vada with the tasty chatni made it really delicious. Recommended & will sure be coming back to have the Limbu Sharbat as well.
One of the many places I head to when my palate craves for an authentic Maharashtrian fast food experience. Their USP is of course the batata vada, which is crisp, perfectly cooked and hits all the right notes in the flavour department (not too spicy either, thank heavens). Served with a runny coconut chutney that is a bit low on flavour and spicy thecha, I wish they also provided a sweet chutney to balance the spice for us poor souls who have low tolerance for the piquant, a la the English.
Nevertheless, wash down this excellence with a chilled bottle of nimbu paani, will you?

Good missal and Vada Pav (hot and fresh) accompanied with sips of chilled lemon juice,amazing combination.
Having wada pav nd limbu sharbat here since last 10-12 yrs... I remmbr wen I first had their lime juice in dat little bottle...which is gud enuf wid 1 wada pav... Back then the lime juice used to be fr 3 bucks.. i.e. in the early 2000s...

One of the best Vada Pavs you can ever eat. Durga offers amazing vada pav and they have consistently maintained their quality and taste all these years. Even their Limbu Sherbet is amazing. Durga has and will always be respite for thirsty and hungry souls for Thane people.

This snacks shop is really old where I used to go in school days also.Here you will get the tasty Misal Pav,Lime juice,Samosa pav,Medu Vada sambar,bhaji etc which I like the most at this place.They can improve in the taste of vadapav.Overall nice experience.
I remember distinctly my grandfather had taken me as a teenager to have vada pav twice at Shree Durga's! This was 16 years ago...it was amazing then, hope the place is still abuzz.

It's the best place for having breakfast if you are on gokhale road. It's not that easy to find from a distance as it gets camouflaged among other shops.
It's like a better version of the snacks corner you have near your building. You will never complain about the taste and freshness of the food served here.
It's misal pav is having the perfect blend of spices. Not to spicy like mamledar so you can enjoy it literally everyday (It's taste will keep calling you back). They serve farsan separately in a dish in another than contains rassa. You can say it's their style of serving.
After eating misal don't forget to drink lemon juice there. Sweet, sour and cold perfect combo. Samosa, vadapav and meduvada sambar are equally good.
The shop is clean well maintained and has enough space to stand and eat. It has no seating arrangement but it's never too crowded. No queues and pocket friendly.

Food 5/5: The taste is great vada is prepared nicely with all spices. Compared to local competition the vada is the usp for vadapav not the chutney. Misal is also perfect a bit more gravy is served but taste is balanced. The give you fresh idlis as well.
The LEMONADE needs a special mention.

My quest for hogging on some very good Batata Wada in & around Mumbai / Thane would have remained incomplete had I not landed here. As usual, I had endeavored to go somewhere else but finding it closed I discovered this place and what a discovery it was indeed!
Unfortunately my knowledge about this place is zero but a quick search revealed that this place is a legend by itself. Its been in business of dishing out yummy, pocket friendly snacks for almost 12-15 years now.
Now without much ado, let’s attack the food straight away.
MISAL [INR 30]
It is visually dangerous to look at, white peas in a pool of red coloured oil. It’s topped with farsan, served with generous helping of onions and a slice of lime.The misal is mild spicy, very much unlike what it seems. Not one of the best misal that I have had but not bad either.
BATATA WADA [INR 10]
This fried piece of goodness is what takes the cake, cream and the cherry. They get sold by heaps, I guess, not by pieces.The Wada is of a medium size, the crust is soft and thin. The vegetable filing is mixture of mashed potatoes, green coriander, hint of garlic and finely chopped green chilies. The overall flavour is very balanced; not very spicy or pungent or bland.ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED.

The Wada / Samosa is served with a dry garlic chutney and a watery coconut chutney. The garlic chutney is not very pungent and has a very crispy texture, probably the coconut shavings are roasted to make it crispy.The coconut chutney is very watery but combines well with the Wada / Samosa.

It’s a rarity in Mumbai that a QSR / eatery (like this one) does not serve Tea / Coffee; this place can be counted as one of those few in Mumbai. But I can bet that their patrons don’t miss the Tea / Coffee as these guys serve a divine nectar called Lime Juice [ Nimbu Pani]I am quite sure that place can survive and make enough moolah selling only Lime Juice. The Lime Juice is one of the better ones served around, an extra bit of sourness / lime content will do wonders to this nectar.It’s served in bottles which resemble the bottles in which Masala Milk used to be served by Aarey. Believe me, I had 3 bottles of it on a very very hot October afternnon.MUST, MUST, MUST HAVE.
Service is very fast as this is a self-service counter.
You can eat all you want for about Rs.100 per head; BAAP of VFM.
A place with a limited menu of Idli, Medu Wada, Batata Wada, Samosa, Misal and a combination of all of the above. It’s difficult to imagine that places like these still exist in Mumbai and serve good food and a very affordable price.

This place on d busy Gokhale road is a timeless classic. Have been visiting here for past 10-12 yrs...n for one thing...one thing only...d heavenly delicious vada pav.
Simplicity in d menu is their forte. U definitely get VFM on any dish here. From batata vada usal, samosas, misal pav to medu wada sambar...they surely live up to taste n quality of foodstuff one expects on an average.
Though I hv tried their other dishes...d piping hot batata vada is wat I come for...time n again.
The true taste of vada can b relished ven its oh-so-hot accompanied by d cooling-refreshing limbu sherbet.
The sherbet is jus-about sweet n mild in taste. Vada is unlike other places...its not overtly spicy bt tastes jus abt right dat u r left craving for another one!

This place is one of the legendary restaurants in Thane...if you don't want to eat anything...just have their chilled lemon juice that comes in glass bottles...I believe that is their competitive advantage...I have been going to this place since their lemon juice was costing 3 rupees and now it has become 8 bucks...but still...worth it..even it becomes 100 bucks...their samosas and vada pav and other food items are also delicious with a decent level of hygiene...it's one of our favorite drop in places...lovely place indeed

Once again, another legendary eatery in Thane! This place came into existence much after the famous gajanan and rajmata, but has earned it's position today in the famous eateries in thane.
They have the same platform on the other side of the counter for people to stand and enjoy their food and the same billing counter since a long long time now. Nothing has changed about this place, which includes even their food standards!
The must have's here are- vada pav, batata vada plate, medu vada, samosas, etc and their signature lemon juice. Amazing!
Absolutely pocket friendly! You can have a satisfying meal in approximately 50 bucks per person and be hunger-free for 4-5 hours!
Since 1994 we used to go to this place. You can always see this place crowded and this is proof of their quality that they are maintaining. This place is recommended for Batata wada, Misal paav, Idli, Medu wada, bhaji and Nimbu pani. Only drawback is lack of seating arrangement but it is quite understandable as there is no much space available.

My personal favorite here is the batata wada ussal! U guys have to give it a try for sure. Their batata wadas are appropriately spicey n very tasty! Missal pav is also great here.

This place deserves 5 star rating just only and only on the basis of the food and its quality thats been served for the longest time. Though this snacks corner came much after the biggies like rajmata and gajanan but still its legendary on its own. The vada is very tasty and right amount of spice as i personally find rajmata vada a bit spicy. The usp of this place is the lemon sharbat which goes perfectly with either vada or samosa . The misal and medu wada is also good to try. The taste is same as what i had may be 17 18 years ago. Thumbs up to this place
I have been visiting this place for past 13-14 yrs and this place has not changed a bit. The taste also is the same for years. Vada pav and samosa pav are good. Misal pav is mouth watering. Idli wada sambhar excellent. A small joint offering you variety in fast food. Also not to forget the first joint in thane to introduce lemon juice which is too good.
I have been going here since the last 12 odd years or so and this place hasn't change one bit. They have same old platform where you keep your food and eat, same old counter and consistent taste over the years.
Things you must have here are Misal Pav, Vada pav, their mix Bhaji and their delicious Nimbu Pani. They have a typical Maharashtrain menu which is fantastic.
This is a small joint and since it is very popular it is always crowded. So good luck finding a spot to eat on their platform. The prices are cheap and is total value for money. You could have an an entire meal in under 60 rs and be full for the next 3-4 hours.
Their service is sometimes bit slow but that's okay knowing how crowded this place gets, how awesome their food is and bang for your buck.

One of the best Vada pav and missal pav that I came across. I am not a huge fan of spicy missals but a tasty one and they are known for their tasty missals. You can also enjoy their lemon water in hot summer and it’s so refreshing. I visited this place after 5 years this year and it’s still same feeling and same taste :)

One of the iconic and legendary snacks corner in Thane specially for the batata wada pav and lemon juice combination.
Humble, super reasonable, energetic staff and authentic food, is how I would describe it in one sentence.
We enjoyed the missal pav with potato Wada, washed down with Limbu pani.
So you eat first (standing) and pay later. Extra gravy is free. No tissue or plastic cutlery. Served in stainless steel plates and Limbu pani in glass bottles. All reused so no waste.
If you are in Thane and wish to enjoy such type of food I would recommend to visit Durga snacks.

A bif fan of their vada pav. We have been feasting on it for decades now. The taste has never changed. It is served with coconut and chura chutney. Their medu vada is an absolute delight too. The staff is polite and quick to serve.

My quest for hogging on some very good Batata Wada in & around Mumbai / Thane would have remained incomplete had I not landed here. As usual, I had endeavored to go somewhere else but finding it closed I discovered this place and what a discovery it was indeed!
Unfortunately my knowledge about this place is zero but a quick search revealed that this place is a legend by itself. Its been in business of dishing out yummy, pocket friendly snacks for almost 12-15 years now.
Now without much ado, let’s attack the food straight away.
MISAL [INR 30]
It is visually dangerous to look at, white peas in a pool of red coloured oil. It’s topped with farsan, served with generous helping of onions and a slice of lime.The misal is mild spicy, very much unlike what it seems. Not one of the best misal that I have had but not bad either.
BATATA WADA [INR 10]
This fried piece of goodness is what takes the cake, cream and the cherry. They get sold by heaps, I guess, not by pieces.The Wada is of a medium size, the crust is soft and thin. The vegetable filing is mixture of mashed potatoes, green coriander, hint of garlic and finely chopped green chilies. The overall flavour is very balanced; not very spicy or pungent or bland.ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED.

One of the famous, well know & popular place in Thane which serves you the best snacks. I have been visiting this place since my childhood days. This place is always crowded as it is nearby to market & station. Hygiene is well maintained. Yummy & tasty snacks at pocket friendly rates. You can have them anytime. Food items here are made fresh & served hot. The taste is mind-blowing.

This was the first Misal Pav I had in my life . Yes , people like me exist :) .
Never had the chance to have Misal Pav in Kolkata ; and it was in my bucket list when I came to Mumbai this time around .
As this was my first time , can't compare with other places ; but the overall taste was good. From the other reviewers I can see that they have been perfecting their snacks for close to fifteen years now and the results are there to see / taste .
Awesome and most unique of all the Vada Pav places of Thane. They serve the lemon juice in custom bottles and trust me you just cannot stop on one … the taste very mild and refreshing. The red sukha chutney is full of taste and less of spice. The coconut chutney is awesome as well. People who love spicy may be disappointed on the hotness note but the Vada Pav taste is so unique that it makes up completely for less spicy quotient. Sambhar dipped Batata Vada is also a must try and so is Vada Usal or Misal Pav. Must visit. They have maintained this uniqueness from at least last 3 plus decades I have been visiting here.
