Review Hotel Kolhapur Restaurant - Thane

We ordered Veg Thali & Mutton Sukkha Thali. Veg Thali had 1 Usal, Kothimbir Vadi, Gulab Jamun & other basic Thali items. Taste was good. But bit overpriced. Mutton Sukkha Thali had 2 small portions of Mutton Sukkha, Tambda Padhara Rassa, Solkadi, Chapatis & White Rice. Mutton Sukkha was not dry but gravy item. It had a tinge of odd sweetness. Quantity was good but taste was not good. Solkadi was watery & again a hint of sweetness in it. Price of the Thali is bit underpriced as compared to other Kolhapuri outlets. Ambiance is average. Overall not great experience.

Good authentic Kolhapur Food. Good service. Delicious food. Seafood is a must try here. Discount is also provided upto 15% of overall bill payment as per ongoing schemes/offers at the restaurant. One complimtary welcome drink is provided. That is kokam juice before food arrives on the table. Thumbs up for Kolhapur Thecha. My Personal favorites are kombdi vade and surmai fry. 😇

I was here on an evening for dinner with some friends. So all of us ordered different types of thali range they have. I must say all the Thalis were delicious. But I would still put Mutton thali on the top. The meat was so well cooked and delicious. I would recommend mutton sukka. If you don't wanna go for thali, do try this dish. Was not really happy abt the Sol kadi they served in the end. Have had better kadis else whr. But the thali was so filling!! Do try. Small yet cozy place. The ppl there are very friendly and accommodating. The food is very authentic. Loved the pomfret thali and fish was very fresh as well. Quantity can be improved for the amount spent.

Authentic kolhapuri dishes serves here. Loved typical kolhapuri spicy food. You get a kokam sarbat as a welcome drink. The place is little bit congested but the quality of food overlaps every other drawback. Must visit place for nonveg lovers.

Excellent kolhapuri food...We tried the mutton sukka (yummy) and mutton rassa (gravy), bhakri,sol kadhi and the famous tambda rassa and pandhra rassa. Seating is limited so you have to be early on weekends else need to wait. Service is quick.

I have been visiting this place for quite a while now. And i gotta say, it is one of the best places to try authentic kolhapuri cuisine. They welcome you with complimentary kokum sarbat which sets the mood. Food is really tasty here. You should visit this place at least once.

Awesome Mutton Thali with Tambda & Pandhra Rassa, very delicious. But bit spicy for me. The quantity is also very decent. The sitting is conjusted. But for food lover sitting, ambience etc doesn't matter......

Kolhapri Thecha is one of the best place for non vegetarian lovers One of the famous dish from Kolhapur is 'PANDHARA RASSA' Padhara rassa is like a 'soup' made up from chicken/mutton broth and coconut milk with addition of onion cashew paste and some spices.

The food quality is amazing. Especially the Thali's are awesome, only the problem is late service. Overall 4 star .

आम्ही ठाण्यात जवळपास होतो आणि जेवणासाठी एखादी जागा शोधत होतो. आणि ही जागा सापडली. कोल्हापुरी ठेचा. आता गेल्यावर आधी हॉटेल छोटंसं वाटतं. पण वातावरण प्रसन्न आहे. हवेशीर. गेल्यावर आधी कोकम सरबत दिलं. ते सरबत कमी आणि पाणी जास्त. प्लीज ह्याची काळजी घ्या किंवा देऊच नका. मेनू मधून आम्ही एक मटण सुक थळी आणि एक मटण वडे मागवले. जेवण वेळेत आलं. उशीर नाही. स्टाफ पण हसरा आहे. मटण उत्कृष्ठ होते. चविष्ट, तर्रि दार, झणझणीत, अपेक्षेप्रमणेच. एक गोष्ट फक्त खटकली ते म्हणजे वडे. तेल फारच होतं. इतकं की तुकडा तोडला की बोटं तेलकट होत होती. कृपया ह्याची काळजी घ्या. बाकी सर्व उत्तम आहे. परत जायला नक्कीच आवडेल. काहीतरी वेगळं सुद्धा आवडेल.<br/><br/>शुभेच्छा..

Been to this place 3 - 4 times. Good place for eating savoury kolhapuri spicy food and tambda pandhra rassa. The staff is polite and the food delivery is on time. Also the place is near by the station so convenient to reach . Chicken thali comes at a decent price and it tastes good. One can visit hotel around 9 -9.30 PM and still find place to sit and eat with their families.<br/>

The other had a craving for Kolhapuri food spicy food so tried this place..<br/>Food was good not too spicy.<br/>The 2 things which i didnt like was the rice bhakri was stale they just microwaved it gave..<br/>Also pricing wise i found it bit expensive for extra tambda rassa or pandhara rassa they charge ₹90per bowl

A cozy place tucked away in a galli in Thane west, the food was amazing. Each rassa and curry tasted different and brought out true Kolhapuri flavors. The music played was soothing. A good place for a budget outing with family and friends. Staff is friendly and quick.

This place is good for thali. The staff is good and patient. The service seemed little slow. The kokum drink is served by them which is new. Awesome food ...We were here in last week. Greeted very well on welcome by offering kokum sarabat. We had Andakari & Veg thali . Here they served food with ( Tandlachi Bhakari). Yesterday I had ‘Mixed Kolhapuri Promfet and Surmai Thali’, it was the best sea food thali I ever had. What you want in just 615 Rs!!<br/>I go twice or thrice in one month.<br/>One should try all the thalis.

The walls were decorated with pictures of Kolhapur.<br/><br/>Service : 4.0<br/>Very attentive and knowledgeable serving staff. The owner, Anup, was very visible and interactive with the guests. I understand he has had a long career in India and the American continents in the hospitality industry. He values the feedback from patrons.<br/><br/>Food: 4.5<br/>I am a self-confessed sea food freak and this was just what I needed to jostle my taste buds. I started with their Bombil Tawa fry, usually I have eaten the Rawa Fry which by the way is Malvani and not Kolhapuri style. I had two of these as starters... This just whetted my appetite to try more... The crab masala, which uses the mud crab - one of the sweetest crabs, was finger licking. The prawn masala fry was a delight because of its freshness. All these with Rice bhakari and Jowar bhakari.<br/>I did not have any space left to try their Chinese, which seemed to be popular as well as I saw a lot of patrons having it. If I get another opportunity to visit this place, I would like to try the Chinese as well.<br/><br/>Drinks: 4.0<br/>The Saul Kari and the Kokum based welcome drink was very well made.<br/><br/>All in all the genuineness of the place is what I liked.

I have visited Kolhapuri thecha with my friends. The ambience is very warm. We tried chicken thali, mutton & surmai thali which was great & outstanding, very authentic taste. The highlight of the dish was crab masala which was so so delicious & we wanted to have more but unfortunately the manager said that it was all over & I inform him that next time i'll visit again & make sure it's not over. I highly recommend this place for the lover of authentic kolhapuri food which is tasty but not spicy.

Well waiting for almost 45 mins n yet no food served. We just ordered 2 chicken thalis n 1 surmayiii thali. Like common after waiting for 15 mins to get seat on sunday afternoon and then again wait for more than 45 mins. 20-30 mins should be enough considering they dont have much varieties just thalis n basic biyanis n starters

I visited this place near talao pali, behind chopstix. I had seen this restaurant several times but did not feel like visiting it because of its ambience. This time I thought I should try it, just to know if they are serving authentic Kolhapuri food.<br/><br/>I have eaten Kolhapuri food in Kolhapur and here I tried Mini chicken thali and prawns thali which was not at all authentic, 2 points are for the cooked meat - 2/5<br/>Chicken Thali - Tambda Rassa... It was not spicy at all<br/>Pandhara Rassa- this was the only item which was somewhat close to real kolhapuri taste<br/>Chicken curry- was well cooked that's it.<br/><br/>Prawns Thali- except the prawns curry there was nothing very exciting in the "Thali" no fried prawns. There was a thick curry without the prawns which tasted more like a malvani curry than kolhapuri.<br/><br/>Solkadhi- i did not like it at all (too sweet and watery)<br/><br/>The spoiler of the entire meal was the Bhakari, it was stale and damp (yes damp). I did mention this to the manager, he asked if could get another one and said "Ya may be cause the person from where we order has changed". So basically I have no idea what people in kitchen do??Does that mean the food is not freshly made??<br/><br/>The ratings are for the politeness of the manager and waiters.<br/><br/>Out and out, not recommended at all.<br/><br/>Vallari Vaidya

Recently opened . Not a great space . It actually covers about 10 tables. The waiter service was fine. The food not that great the bhakris were having a very weird smell adding to that the food wasnt as spicy as it should have been ( cause it states being kolhapuri food ) . Overall I would reccomend visiting this place.

Thali was really good. It was medium spicy and loved the chicken with bhakri, and for sea food lovers they can try sea food thali especially prawn thali. The masala was amazing and definitely try the buttermilk. Parking was a problem but you will be guided to park near talav. With Marushka Saldanha

A perfect place for non vegetarians....you can order a chicken thali...along with bhakri o kombdi wade...u ll get two types o rasa....white n red...exactly same taste that u get in Kolhapur...chicken perfectly blended in spices...n don't forget to hv solkadi at the end🤘🏻

Well in need of some mouthwatering tambda pandra rassa ordered stuff from here... kolhapuri chicken masala, tambda rassa,solkadi and tamda rassa was on the list.... though the delivery arrived in 90mins... still the solkadi seemed ok..(have had better than it), chicken masala too was ok..quantity was less as per price....will revisit once for a try to recheck... :)

It's a cute little restaurant which offers quite a variety of Thalis owned by a South Indian man ,very humble person to talk to.I tried a bombil thali and called for some bhakris,loved the rich taste of the curries and fish fried to perfection with right amount of spices I was in heaven.It is one among the best thalis I have ever had,the service was quick,pricing was bang on (won't burn a hole in the pocket) with a homely ambience you will return home happy!<br/>Travelling all the way from vashi to Thane itsl was worth every penny ! Definitely revisiting this place soon

Have visited this place twice. A good option fr both veg n non veg lovers. The best part of the menu is the solkadi which is very authentic in taste. Also like that this place is near stn n talav pali which makes it easily available.

Food is good having both option veg and non veg. service is poor since they take 30 min to serve order. They have Thali system for veg or non veg.Due to limited space no of tables are less.You can try it once

We ordered chicken mutton mix thali and reshmi kebab with lots of expectations from restaurant however ended up with horrible experience. First of all they forgot to include rice in thali, they serve three types of gravies in mix thali and it taste no different also the pieces were stinking so much that we threw it in dustbin. I never ever had chicken pieces covered in sweet egg Omlet called reshmi kebab neither I had pandhara and tambada rassa of such ridiculous taste. Also make sure to confirm the rates of the dishes while ordering over the phone because their online rates and actual rates varies. Not sure why they named Kolhapuri thecha bcoz neither it gives essence of Kolhapuri nor Malvani food.

A really nice place for fish lovers! Had been there with family. We had ordered chicken thali and surmai thali. Both tasted excellent. The only flaw I could point was the chicken gravy was too spicy! Tamda rassa and pandhra rassa tasted really very good. All in all... Ekdum chaaan!

My day depends a lot on the kind of food I had! There are restaurants n then there are GOOD restaurants... The kind that makr dining in an experience! Kolhapuri thecha falls into this category.<br/>We wanted to host my parents n my mama on our anniversary n I was sure that it had to be a memorable experience. They are not very fond of Punjabi cuisine n wanted it to b a simple Maharashtrian affair. So I zeroed on to this place as I was pretty sure that kolhapuri would b the safest option but I was unsure about the ambience.<br/>The moment we entered this place we were greeted by the manager Mr Anoop n very courteously he arranged the table for 7. I had expected the place to be very congested. But it was pretty decent. Almost all the tables were occupied. The ambience was well above my expectations! I learnt that the place had recently undergone renovation.<br/>We decided to order for mini surmai thali, full surmai thali, chicken thali. Although it was quite a wait for the food to be served, it was worth every bit of it!<br/>The difference between the mini surmai n full surmai was just one gravy. Chicken thali was one of the best I've ever had.<br/>The food was what we call 'zhanzhaneet'... Too spicy for someone's liking.. But I like my food that way so no complaints!<br/>The cucumber in the salad was too bitter n that is the only flaw I could point. The bhakri was soft, chicken succulent n tasty, pandhara n tamda rassa yummy n solkadhi a bit sweet... In short a perfect balance of sweet, sour and spicy Maharashtrian fare!<br/>Decently priced and not unlimited, this place is Highly recommended... But too spicy for children. kolhapuri Thecha the best restaurant if u r a spicy food lover. great taste ,best food     i ordered thali non veg which cost me around 285 .they have good variety in chicken,mutton and fish dishes,the price is worth the taste.try bhakri instead of chapati.i would like to visit twice,thrice.................
