First of all it's a authentic South Indian Restaurant. The restaurant was amazing, it's a pure Vegetarian. Too good Sambhar and Medu Vada is awesome. Don't forget to try all chutney along with Dosa.

Pocket friendly food casual eating. What amazes me most is they don't have a wash basin. How does the staff manage without wash basin. Hygeine hmmm. Service is so quick that I was in middle of having soup and the waiter arrived with roti and main course. And he served everything and asked me to adjust my soup bowl on the side so that he can serve roti !!!! Amazed again. And while I was having main course, I was presented the bill... !!!!!!! A lot of scope for improvement.

Beautiful ambience & good quality foods..
Mysore Masala Dosa is a good item.. Another special item there is Paper Masala Dosa, a big delicious one.
Cheese Garlic Uttapam is unique you won't find these type of item everywhere!
Tried Joshila Paneer, but not that good!
Purab Chhaya
Extremely good food.... South Indian dosa, though tastes sweet, but I liked it personally.... good place in this mall for casual dining experience....

Worst south Indian restaurant ever. The cutlery used is dirty and the quality of food is even worse. Why have such a restaurant in existence? This restaurant goes against the hygiene norm of a place. Must visit and see for yourself.. This place should be shut and heavily fined for the risk they impose on their customer’s health by serving “GOD KNOWS WHAT” - DIRT!! They are even charging higher than the MRP for water.. this is a common knowledge that one is not allowed to sell water for more than the MRP but the manager also is not ready to acknowledge this fact. TURDS!!!

Nothing special to say except that its pure Veg restaurant.
The food was average and nothing special to mention. Service was OK.
Not for those who are looking for something special and different.

Food: 3.5/5

Have tried Neer Dosa with Paneer Gassi, rava masala dosa, dahi wada, medu wada. The quality of the coconut chutney has always been very good.

Ambience: 3.5/5
Ideal ambience for families. Friendly staff.

Pocket pinch: 3.5/5
Not too pricey. Affordable and good.

Cons:
Pure veg. The quality of paneer is not top notch.

Summary: for me, it's a little less than 4 star and the closest possible rating here is 3.5 so 3.5 it is. Ideal if you are a vegetarian and want to have a decent family dinner without making a hole in your pocket.
Dipeea
Again a vegetarian joint with fairly decent prices ok for food items. We enjoyed their puri bhaji. However, the quantity for bhaji could have been better.Tastewise, it was okayish.

Bad food. Bad staff. Bad ambience. AVOID VISITING!!!
Even if you ask them and order food what is presented to you is entirely different. Prices are high for the quantity and quality of food served. Worst experience.
Been to kurla one too and that wasn't great either but this one is worthless.

If u are going for main course then plz don't visit the hotel . Tasteless food , poor AC , improper service.
U can eat South Indian dishes only here .

Balaji is located bang opposite More in Rmall. The place is good with decent ambience. The service was fast and good. Will recommend only South Indian dishes from Balaji.

Pick for the day -

1) Paper Roast & Onion Rava Dosa
- The biggg paper dosa was super crisp and thin. The onion Rava was yum. Crisp and tasty. The sambar and coconut chutney was good. The sambar had a bit too much of hing.

2) Veg hakka noodles and Paneer Chilly dry.
- Both the dishes were just okay. We could only taste salt in the noodles. It had a few veggies here and there that's all. The paneer in the paneer chilly was not fresh. It has quiet a lot of paneer and capsicum onions. The thick gravy tasted good.

Ambience - 3/5
Service - 3/5
Taste - 3/5

Overall - 3/5
I have been here a couple of times with family due to lack of options, the restaurant is not at all good. It is just about average with tasteless food, dilapidated furniture and poor quality. The only thing worth mentioning is fast service. The price is also not worthy of the dishes served. Overall a bad experience

A. C is not working . food is pathetic with high rate. gravy is wrost .
taste is not worth money only brand name is Balaji here no taste of brand
S
Punjabi food is of below average quality. Service is pathetic that too when foot fall was lesser.
Management hardly pays attention to it.

Worst is the only word I can think about this place..
Today's lunch experience...5 pax..
Our order
1. Tomato soup. Arrived in 10 mins..made from tomato puree..bad..was tasting like a mix of puree and ketchup
2. Pav bhaji..passable
3. Stuffed paratha..we ordered 1 potion but 2 portions arrived..bad very bad to be honest
4. 2 masala dosa..never arrived one hour past ordering..i left the restaurant as had some work..but seriously one hour to get the masala dosa on table ridiculous..
5. American chopsuey..never arrived for one hour..
Bottom line waste of time and money..
Please avoid this place..as this was the service levels with just 2 tables occupied in the restaurant..
I seriously have a feeling they don't have a kitchen of their own and outsource food as per orders received..

Imagine you were sitting in very posh restaurant and experienced HULLABULLAO of rats around you will you eat......... ??????????????????????

I had been here on a weekend. We started with north indian.the food didn't really live up to the price and the quantity of their food was really scanty....
After being fed up of their north Indian we tried south indian.coconut uthapa was good but it was small in size & spring dosa was really oily..
The service was extremely bad.
Mansi Arjav Pandya
Very poor service..ordered soup, cheese veg sandwich and pav bhaji...bhaji was only of potatoes and soup had small flie in it....not at all to be worth going...very bad experience..never ever will visit now ever after

I was gone to Sunday it is very bad the hotel is not good it take an 1\2 an hrs to serve quantity is very less serving is very bad AC doesn't work
Harish
Visited Balaji on Sunday evening while returning from a shopping outing in Thane.

Had an eclectic choice of Chinese, South Indian and Biryani. Request for preparation without onion and garlic was handled - though I guess the tastes got out of hand - not sure if the chef was used to making stuff without them. American Chopsuey was very sweet. As expected, Rawa Dosa was great. Hyderabadi biryani had a different taste - but was nice. Portions are a little bit smaller. Service is what you would expect in a typical Mumbai-Thane Udipi joint. The plate size is though small - not sure why.

The restaurant though offers authentic veg food, but my personal favourite is chole nature from this place. Plus they offer 15% discount over 200rs bill. The ambience is bit down compared to poptates at neighbour, but perfect place for family.
Rubayet Chakraborty
OK place. Good for a light meal while shopping. Pretty inexpensive as well. Coffee was good compared to vending machine coffee.

Located at rmall near More.Nice vegeterian restaurant. Famous for south indian items like dosa, idli. Place is good. Service is good too. Punjabi food is ok. Punjabi food is of little south indian style giving south indian taste. Parathas are good. service is really good. I always get dish modified for my baby like without spice paratha , dosa.
Sayalee
Typical south indian restaurant,,..but they had good variety of food....it was tasty and best part is that its very cheap.....cz we had gone 5 people for dinner nd the bill amounted to only 800 bugs
Though the staff is bit confused
.....overall nice place

I visit this restaurant quite often. The South Indian food served is tasty and pocket friendly. The preparation is hygienic and the service is prompt. The N. Indian food preparation is equally good albeit slightly costly but overall a good experience.

Not good for jain eatarians. .. We ordered for jain dal fry but we have been served regular one...
In fact when we asked him to replace he say said we accept that the by mistake regular one is served but we cannot take return as well as replace...
I had visited several resaurants but I had never felt such ugly response from restaurant manager...
so jain's beaware going this restaurant

This restaurant is one of the few pure Vegetarian restaurants in Rmall. A total bliss for the vegetarians! Good ambience and good food, makes it a fine dining experience.
We usually go here for light lunch or dinner. The food is simple yet tasty with a great service at the other hand. We always love Indian Chinese dishes, where we enjoy manchow soup, Hakka noodles and even sometimes manchurian.Other south indian dishes aren't so great to try, as every time we found the Sambhar disappointing. North Indian main course is a decent try for anyone looking to have a good pack of lunch.

We went there after breaking my karva chauth fast so I was really starving by then..
Prompt service really helped
We started with sada dosa- nice size with white chutney n super thin red sambhar followed by sweet lime juice made sans sugar as requested

It's a small resturant barely 12-13 table of 4s it's situated in a mall n near by u don't really have a resturant serving similar food n it's priced well hence on fri nite it had nice crowd
We we entered there were abt 4 tables occupied by the time we left 8-9 tables were occupied n service went a little slow
None the less the staff was polite and customer oriented ..
So yea after dosa n Juice as they seemed to be the quickest
Our order followed with sufiyan paneer tikka - yellow colour 8 pcs wit green capsicum and tomato onion roasted together came wit cabbage n mix vege salad in sweet curd lil lemon dressing (sweet dint make sense though) and green chutney alongside
Followed by chole bhature same old prob 2 bhaturas med size n lil portion of chole Donno what's the deal with that it's soo common in soo many places I have had this .. Seems stingy to me given the price ..
Nice bhaturas but was slightly oily ..
We ordered dessert - kulfi falooda with extra folooda and was served with jelly and rose or some red syrup
The kulfi was good falooda was very dry to taste and the jelly simply ruined the whole taste of the dish 😔
The jelly tasted weird orangey taste to red jelly dint make sense n wen had with the whole combo it only made it worse ..
Anyways will go there again for trying diff stuff off their menu but Nxt time kulfi falooda wud be a defi No nO 😉
Wallet damage: 640/-
So yea 300/- pp approx seems like an ok vege deal

This is a tiny pure veg restaurant located in R mall @ ghodbandar road....
The service is really slow... Staff was not active...
But food which they are serving is really nice....
They have south Indian food, punjabi food, kebabs, paav bhaji, pizza, ice cream, desserts and mocktalis in their menu....
They are serving probably everything but in veg....
I ordered paper masala dosa N just cheese pizza...
Paper masala dosa was really very crispy.
Just cheese pizza was overloaded with cheesey toppings... If you are a cheese lover then you should not miss this...
Just have patience coz they took lots of time for preparing pizza...!

This is one of the best pure veg restaurant on GB Road. I went with my family. We enjoyed the food a lot. Service was prompt. Ambience is also decent. We ordered some chinese starters and punjabi main course. Chinese starters were ok but punjabi main course was delicious. I recommend it to all who prefer pure veg restaurant.
Kamal Jonwal
A pure vegetarian restaurant that specialises in South Indian food. The decor is standard and at par with its Goregaon and Ghatkopar outlets. The food is consistently good. One should also try their north Indian and Chinese menu which is equally good. A very pocket friendly restaurant.
Nikhil Shah
Food is good.. Ambience is ok.. The best part was the mouth Freshener it was a nice small pan. Recommended to try it once.. It was a good meeting place actually
Ashish Agrawal
Average food more on the spicer side. Quantity is less.. Service is OK. Ambiience is good.
Ordered Mix veg and Veg Bhuna..both were on the spicier side.

I have visited this place two times for dinner and I am satisfy with my experience. This is a good place for those people, which are finding pure veg food & taste. Food quality and atmosphere is very good and It's not too expensive.
If you are pure veg, You should try this restaurant.

If ur in rmall and a vegetarian then u must without any hesitation end ur search for a restaurant and go to balaji directly. The decor is good staff is courteous and service is also quick. It specialises in south indian food and its flawless. Had a rava sada dosa which was very good and what made it even better is the chutney and superb sambar. After the rava sada dosa for the craving of having the chutney and sambar ended up ordering an onion uttappa too. The achari mushroom was very nice and tangy and also the sofiya paneer which was flavourful and soft. The quantity of food is also good. Tried their gravies too and they were also good. Though it counts in the chain of restaurants still its one of the best in serving veg food. The only flip side of this outlet is the service is extremely at a slow pace which is not atall appreciable.
Arun Godhwani
Seems like they dont want to do business anymore. They ask me if they can serve Pav Bhaji before Soup is ready. Uttapam get over by 9pm. The moment clock strucks 10pm these guys want to throw u out. They keep running aound restaurant and keep an eye as to whose has finished food or eating slow. Cheese Pav Bhaji is served with cheese worth Rs. 2/- or less. I did ask them if they ran out of Cheese stock also? Finally finer bowl is served after you get the bill. What an inovative customer service. Keep up this work and soon u will loose sight of your customers also.

The place has a modest decor and really quiet a setting. It has the typical South Indian feel and it's pretty likeable.
The food is great on quality and quantity as well. I particularly love their sambar that they serve with the dosa/ idli.
Onion utthapa is a must have. The Sada dosa is just as good too, but the onion utthapa is a delicacy.
The pav bhaji is yummy, especially considering that this is a typical south Indian restaurant. Heads up!

28 December,
I went in Balaji Restaurant with my family. The ambience was a decent one with a very low toned and soft music was being played. We ordered the tomato soup that is one by two it was really great one. It was sizzling hot in the cold winter with soft toast floating on it. Then we ordered Mysore Masala Dosa, Cucumber Uttappa, Onion Uttappa, Masala Uttappa as these all were the speciality of the restaurant all the dosas and Uttapa were good but the Mysore Masala Dosa was the best of them all. Also a sweet lassi was awesome there. At the last surprisingly at the bill payment they gave Mukwass (Mouth Refresher) and also paan that was the great too.
Taste: 4.0
Ambience: 3.0
Charges: 3.5
Service: 3.5
Overall: 3.5.

Good option for veggie lovers. South Indian food is also good. Service is fast and even home delivery take approx. 30 min. Light on pocket too (approx. Cost 400-450 for a 3 course meal)

This place is nearby my home so i am a frequent visitor in this hotel...
even in weekend you will find place to eat here...service is very quick and polite...ambeince is very simple..
i have tried almost everything here...but dahi idli, dahi wada, chole bhature and chinese garlic and chilli noodles are best....
dahi idli is little sweet as they add same curd which they use for dahi wada....but it taste damn good..
Here chinese rice are too oily so mostly i avoid them....
i really like to mention one thing that my 3 year kid is very much fond of crispy dosa here...as they make sada dosa little crispy (like papad) specially for my little kid...i am really thankful for them :)
plus point of this hotel is that this hotel is pocket friendly compare to area and foodwise

Sometimes on a rainy day even your sense of judgement gets cloudy. That was the case with me on a rain soaked afternoon. I have seen this restaurant number of times coming up the ramp from the parking area and every time there were very few/no customers. Second, I have not seen any reviews for this place on Zomato. Despite these telltale signs I thought "what can go wrong in south indian snacks" and walked in. Famous last words those!

So I sat down with my crossword and ordered my usual i.e. Vada Sambar followed by Mysore Masala. The logic being you can munch on the vada while waiting for the dosa. And as expected the vada arrived quickly. My first bite and I was stunned with the amount of salt. To double check, I tasted the vada and the sambar separately and both had overdose of salt. I informed the waiting staff and was not expecting them to do anything. He just shouted inside and then disappeared out of sight. The masala inside the dosa was overdone with mustard seeds and curry leaves. Dosa itself was not very good, the dough did not have the sourness that comes from the fermentation process.

Finally, I ordered a filter coffee without sugar to round up my meal. It was plain milk with a spot of coffee.

To be fair, I cannot rate this restaurant based on a quick snack, but I would not be motivated to go there again after this experience.
