We went here for breakfast. Love the authentic podi uttapam and idli . We also tried masala dosa . The filter coffee was perfect too . Absolutely loved the menu they have and the quality of food . It’s economical too . Sitting area could have been bigger other than that it’s must try place for South Indian cuisine lovers .

Such a beautiful, cute & awesome restaurant 😍 Especially for South Indian Food lover like me 😋 they also serve Pav bhaji etc. I had ordered Onion Uttapam once & I became their fan since then. It was so fluffy!!! Never had such fluffy & soft Uttapam ever 😍 And then visited the restaurant for quick bite, where we tried Sabudana wada & dosa. Both were excellent 👌 Will definitely visit again to try other dishes!

Recently visited this place to try South indian food in @thambbi.veg . Its pure vegetarian restaurant. Its hug place with lovely ambience & hygeinic atmosphere. The dining hall can accommodate 40-45 people at a time. Best place to visit with your family or loved ones. All staffs are very polite. Food quality was best. Every dish had unique flavours & perfectly prepared. You can feel South flavors in every bite. Although Thambbi has multiple outlets, my favourite one has to be the one in thane. You can go in any place and just enjoy thambbi foods.

Recently happened to visit Thambbi pure veg restaurant in Thane which serves some authentic south indian food . The place has cute ambience and decors ♥️. The staff is really friendly with the customers. Great hospitality we received. Try their Andhra masala dosa and podi butter idli . Both items were really awesome! We also tried their sheera . The taste was really good. At last we tried out their filter coffee. It was really good You can definitely come down with your family and friends and enjoy south indian delicacies! It was fun visiting this place.

This is one of our favourite breakfast joints and they never fail to deliver quality South Indian food! Do try the Butter Podi Idli and Butter Podi Sada Dosa!! The service is fast and usually there's a waiting period of 10-15mins so do account for that in yourc plan...

Definitely a must visit place for South Indian food lovers. Visited this place early morning in search of some authentic south Indian food and was not at all disappointed. Ordered Thatte Idli Butter Podi and Andhra Masala Dosa. Idli was so soft and delicious with their authentic podi masala and generous butter. Andhra Masala Dosa was was a bit on the spicy side but was delicious. Don't forget to order Filter Coffee which is a perfect finisher to the meal.

Thambbi is a great option for south indian food near panchpakhadi in Thane. We had medu wada and mysore dosa. Taste was good. Should have been better as per it is charged. Otherwise it is a great place. Must visit.
Chinmay Kolgaonkar
Thambbi is a place for authentic South Indian food located in the heart of the city that is panchpakhadi. The service and the taste of the food served is authentic and great. But the price is slightly on the higher side. Medu wada, idli and variety of dosas are great in taste here. Moreover you can also try filter coffee here.
FoodHooverzz
Had dosa & dahi vada from here. The taste is good overall, could be better in comparison to the price charged.<br/><br/>Packaging is a little poor, food is fresh but a little expensive for the quality provided.
Rohan Doshi
I found a tag sticker in my medu vada, other items (utthapa, need Dosa) we're satisfactory but sticker in vada killed the whole mood

The ambience was good and comfortable and service quality was great. The food was served on time without delaying. We ordered pavbhaji which was great only it was thick to swallow but it was delicious in taste as well i would rate 3/5. Punjabi thali was something traditional and every dish nd sweets were organized well . Pizza masala dosa was too delicious to crave for. If you are utter south indian or if you love south indian food u should definitely check this restaurant
Madhuri Mistry
Lovely food, and they make things according to the customer request very properly! <br/><br/>Thambbi is a good place if you want to try good south indian food. <br/>Love the pizza dosa and deluxe thali here.. also the neer dosa is amazing. <br/><br/>What I find disappointing was there is very less seating space. We were a big group and we weren't comfortable with the seating. <br/><br/>The pav bhaji is also good. Make sure you don't miss the lunch hour else the service will be very slow.
Chinmay Nagvekar

Sat there patiently after having ordered a Sada Dosa and a coffee for 15 minutes. When I asked about the whereabouts of my order, the waiter says he forgot to place the order. Shit service. Not coming back.

I usually don't eat South Indian food outside but got to say this one was great. The menu really had good options and all types of snacks (other than South Indian) the mysore masala dosa was superb and topping it off with a pineapple sheera was perfect guess what it's even pocket friendly ♥

Went to this place purely for having Paper masala dosa. The Paper Dosa was very impressive but apart from that, the Masala served was mostly bland and the Sambar too was disappointing. The red chutney was good but even the coconut chutney didn't impress us. Ordered a Spring Dosa and it wasn't quite what we expected. The filling was very little though the taste was good but one expects a lot more from such authentic South Indian places. The filter coffee was amazing and just the way how I like my Coffee.<br/><br/>Value for money: Definitely worth atleast one visit.

Probably one of the best places for south Indian cuisine in Thane. I have been to this place a couple of times and have never been disappointed. <br/><br/>Ambiance - the place has a typical south Indian vibe and having spent half my life there, I just love going there again and again. <br/><br/>Food - Almost everything is good there but one should definitely go for the mini butter podi idli, rasam vada and of course their famous "Neer Dosa". Its like our staple order every time and surprisingly we never get bored, I remember very vividly an incident. My colleague and I very returning late from office and were very hungry. We checked the time distance from our current location to Thambii and saw that we would just reach at the closing time. So we called up the restaurant and told them to pack 2 neer dosas and keep it for us and they were so nice that they actually kept the food ready despite having to wrap up their own closing day activities. That was really sweet of them. "It is things like these, that make an experience a memory."<br/><br/>Cheers !!

Great Taste!<br/>Ambience is average. GOOD place to visit with family and friends.<br/>Had ordered Cheese Sada Dosa, Onion Rawa Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee..<br/>Filter Coffee is a must try !<br/>Had also ordered gun powder with the dosa. Loved it!<br/>So, you definitely visit atleast once at any outlet of thambbi.
Hungry Ghosts Mumbai
Had heard a lot about this place but sadly, it was up to the mark. The dosa's weren't really good. The chutney and sambar too didn't taste good. Sambar was way too watery. Also, the staff!! The service was very slow. :/ Overall a bad decision.
Sachin Telawane
A decent place to have your morning healthy snacks. Their uttappa and filter coffee are worth penny.
Mr And Mrs Foodie
They serve tasty southindian food. Located in the heart of PanchPakhadi khaugalli its a place to go for a quick snack.
Chirag Ashar
This was a home delivery and we ordered quite a few dishes for breakfast.<br/><br/>Moving to the Paper Sada Dosa, it was perfect. It was huge in size and it was crispy. It was served with a side of chutney and sambhar and tasted extremely good. The two things that must be perfect in the dosa were perfect,i.e. the crispyness and the size.<br/><br/>The Mysore Masala Dosa was average. The Masala was served at the side and it was not flavored properly. It was not spicy and tasted quite bland. The dosa was good and the Mysore gravy was good too but the masala could have been better.<br/><br/>Next was the Onion Rava Sada Dosa. The dosa had become slightly soggy but the flavor of onions with the rava was pretty good. The texture and consistency of the rava dosa was balanced and served with a side of chuntey and sambhar.<br/><br/>We also ordered the Pav Bhaji. The Pav Bhaji was pretty ordinary and had a decent taste to it. It was blended well and had a balance of spicy and tangy.<br/><br/>Overall, our delivery experience was good and we were quite satisfied with their food.

Thambi located in Panchpakhadi in thane is a well-known South Indian restaurant. A small place with good varieties and excellent combination of dishes, lemon rice is my go-to dish for a quick bite.<br/>mild taste and little sour flavor served with pickle and papad make it quite a delight. Do visite and you will not be disappointed.
Raseshwari Bhalekar
Very Bad Experience...Specially when the OWNERS are Rude and Inconsiderate....<br/><br/>Ordered a Masala Dosa, the Bhaji had NO SALT at all. As we requested the waiter to check, the Owner came to say - Sir, Salt is Less but there is No Issue. Surprised at his act as the Dosa was already taken away. Forget about a replacement of the Bad Dosa, they did not even ask if we wanted to eat anything else.<br/><br/>We left One Sada Dosa half eaten, 2 coffees untouched and one Masala Dosa with No SALT.<br/><br/>HE CHARGED US FOR ALL THIS WHICH WE HAD NOT CONSUMED, Rs. 164.<br/><br/>From a Franchisee with seemingly good name, this is below par behaviour...<br/><br/>Never to visit them again for sure. Strong Recommendation to avoid it...
Swati Kanade Palkar
Really disappointed with experience..visited this place first time.ordered masala dosa they got food without salt post complaining in very polite manner staff start arguing salt is average. We left without eating but staff was not at all concerned. They charge complete bill. Most pathetic person was the MANAGER who satarted arguing for one masala dosa.Ideally would like to give negative rating unfortunately option is not available.<br/>

Starting to... they serve good south indian food, the place is very hygienic and clean, the staff is happy to serve !<br/>Loved that they serve the food quick and tasty<br/>Didn't quite like the curd rice but many other items scored well !!

This place serves you authentic South Indian food with great ambiance. I have been to this place many times and I feel this is one of the best place to serve South Indian Food in Naupada - Panchpakhadi Area.<br/>Butter Idli podi, Medu Vada, Neer Dosa and Filter Coffee ets are few of my favorite dishes.<br/>Their staff is also polite and ambiance is also good.<br/>If you are a foodie and want to try authentic South Indian food then you must visit this place.
G2 - Very Foodie
this is one place where your adrenaline to eat south Indian food can get over.. i have tried idli, wada, dosa and the best sweet sheera is also available.. don't miss the banana wada..

A quick breakfast place. We ordered the coffee which was good but the idli fry was hard so the manger didn’t charge us. Overall it’s a fine place.
Seema S
Good place for South Indian food .we haven't tried other dishes so can't really say but south indian food is just nectareous.<br/>Sambar is not very spicy but flavours are so well balanced .best sambar you get here .
Rajas Badve
A perfect place to have a Sunday morning breakfast. One of the best filter coffee. All south Indian dishes are well served. Service is excellent. To avoid waiting just call that place and confirm.

Recommend. Amazing variety of South Indian food...my friend suggested me this place...not a South Indian food fan...but I had different types of dosa..and made me in love with them...will surely visit this store again..

Had idli sambhar and chatni, cheese chilly uttappam, mysore bonda, cheese masala dosa.  The quality is superb and the quantity is worth the money
Eat-cetera
The place is located in the hub of panchpakadi near Prashant corner. I was delighted to come here as I had heard a lot from this place.<br/>We ordered<br/>1. Dilkush dosa - potato mix with Szechwan sauce was tasty. The dosa being crispy gave it an amazing texture and was very yummy. 4.5/5<br/><br/>2. Pav bhaji - I also tried the pav bhaji here. I thought it won't be great but it indeed was tasty only the bhaji should have been hot 4/5<br/><br/>Overall the food was great but the only thing that disappointed me was the service.<br/>Don't get me wrong food service was quick but when I called out to the people who were giving service they weren't listening and I actually had to speak loudly to ask something. If I wanted a spoon it I had to ask 2/3 times for it.<br/>Finally the food was Tasty and will go here again.
Harshita Balani
Horrible experience. Ordered some sunday lunch from thambii. What was worse is i picked the dishes out of the bestsellers menu and man was it disappointing. The mini idlis and the masala dosa both had a very pungent taste to it..
Mithil16mumbai
Ordered cheese pavbhaji from thambbi quantity and quality wise food is simply superb and I found packing to be also nice and taste was also great
Smita Raikar
A good choice for South Indian breakfast<br/><br/>It may dosa, upma ,uthapa , idli , medu bada or Sheera<br/><br/>Everything feels home made<br/><br/>Less oily and healthy food<br/><br/>Chutney n sambhar is very nice<br/><br/>

If you are craving for delicious, mouthwatering south Indian dishes with good ambience at great price. This is the perfect place. This is our family point, friend gala time place. We have always enjoyed eating food here. Service is good with polite staff. They serve many kinds of dosas, uttappam, idlis, thali, etc. Now a days they have also added some punjabi n maharashrian dishes too. Do visit and have a great experience. Sharing some photos
Avani
We ordered the food from this and left completely disappointed !! We have previously eaten in hotel itself the food was good and we loved it but when I ordered the food quality was very bad. I have already eaten mini butter idli podi from the hotel it was good and filler. But when I ordered it at home they gave me 3 coin size idlis that too was sweet. Rawa dosa was burnt and in normal idli wada sambar the idli was half cooked and densed. Completely let down by one of the favourite south indian food joints.<br/>
Tanay Shinde
This pure authentic South Indian restaurant is worth visiting and gives that feel of traditional South Indian cuisine and feel. The ambience is excellent and the staff is friendly. I tried Mysore Masala dosa, Cheese Chilly Uttappa, Sheera and Chai. It surely had that traditional flavour and that reminds of the red chutney which was so good and refreshing it was just on different level. The sheera was also good not so sweet it was just perfect. The Mysore Masala Dosa could have been better but still it was good. The cheese chilly dosa was also good. My overall experience was really good and had a great time over there. It's a must visit and worth visiting place.
Soumya
Good tasty authentic South Indian food, good do better in terms of competitive pricing. Ordered mini idlis....suggest to go for regular ones instead as the size of mini idlisl is micro mini! Do try butter podi idli it's tasty
Ganesh Acharya
I ordered Dal khichadi. The quality and taste of the food is really good and packaging also really good. but unfortunately my order was accepted late.
Ishani Shah
A very good place for trying out south indian dishes. Some of my all time favourites are- Rassam wada, Podi butter dosa/uttapa, mysore dosa<br/>Tried the set dosa this time, did not find it that good, better skip this one<br/>The misal pav and pav bhaji are quite good too<br/>The best homestyle dessert you'll find here is Pineapple sheera (drooling🤤) however have found the taste go downhill a bit past few visits in panch pakhadi outlet atleast.<br/>And the must order item in the menu, of course has to be the filter coffee :)
Chandni Jadhwani
One of the authentic South Indian joint having about 10 branches across Mumbai.. I have tried a couple of dosas , uttapam , pav bhaji and filter coffee.. the food is authentic and delicious however the Sambhar is not up to the mark. Overall a decent place if you are craving for some south Indian breakfast ..! Also their filter coffee is out of the world .. it’s a must try!! <br/>
Shubham Choudhari
Thambbi is the best South Indian restaurant you can find out. You can get delicious dosas here. Also the staff is also nice. The prices are also reasonable, not so high-not so low. Also the silent ambiance and cleanliness I liked about it.
Havrat Chokri
This is a good South Indian restaurant which serves a variety of tasty south Indian delicacies. The restaurant is big and spacious and has a nice ambience. The food is also tasty!<br/>Tried the dal vada which was served with coconut chutney and tomato chutney. It was good.
Saloni Jawle
Thambbi :- Perfect place for all the people who love south indian. I am not very fond of idlis and dosas but i really like the dishes here. We tried :- Idli sambhar<br/>2. Masala uttapam<br/>3. Medu vada with sambhar<br/>4. Filter coffee <br/>Really loved the food. Dishes are perfectly serve and the quantity is also sufficient. Pocket friendly and a good place to go with friends and family. <br/>

Ordered Idli from Zomato. Order took 1 hour for getting delivered. Firstly the restaurant took 35-40 min to hand over the order and subsequently it was Zomato executive who did the honour. Additionally the Sambar was too salty that It could not be consumed. I called the restaurant and they said thanks. I would not be ordering from this restaurant again.
Janvi Thakkar
This place is just amazing. The food here is just delicious and savoury. From South Indian dishes to South Indian thali it’s just really delectable. <br/>Mini idli chutney butter podi is one of my personal favourite and I loved it a lot. Hot sambar served with mouth watering chutneys. <br/>The next one is, onion Uthappa it actually tastes like typical South Indian and that makes it more ambrosial. <br/>Last but not the least, the South Indian thali served is super amazing, served with different types of mix veggies and a dessert which is served as Sheera, is just toothsome.
Ami Pathak
Nice south indian food with reasonable price.<br/>Andhra dosa, cheese chilly uttappa, buyer sada dosa were tasty.<br/><br/>I recommend people to try out filter coffee alao<br/>
Madhav Shembekar
If you are south Indian veg food lover, then this is the place. One must visit to have good south India food. Pineapple Shira, filter coffee are awesome. All the food items are delicious and value for money. A small place with good ambiance. Happy to visit again and again!
Pooja Sekar
Love the ambience of this place. It's pretty simple, pretty normal, no big decorations yet simply attractive. The staff is good, polite and fast with their work. Being a hardcore South-Indian, I need to mention that the food was okay, was not really great, didn't live up to my expectations. I could not see the essence of South. The food tastes good yet feels incomplete. Also, I felt that, food here is a little overpriced.<br/>Must try : Filter Coffee.<br/>Overall, a 3/5 only.
Prachi Devdhar
Authentic south Indian food with really good taste and ambience is bliss.<br/>Cheese chillie uthappa ( consist of capsicum and not actual chilly) - 3/5<br/>Rasam - 5/5<br/>Pizza dosa - 4/5<br/>Mysore Masala dosa - 4/5<br/>Andhra Masala dosa - 4/5<br/>Filter coffee - 5/5<br/>Price is affordable and it's value for money.
Sagar
The seating arrangement was good. We had ordered idli wada sambhar. Out of which the wada was very soft and tasty but idli was over fermented and tasted bit sour. The same sour taste was felt while eating onion tomato uttampam. The pesarattu was very dry and hard to chew. Filter coffee is must have and super tasty.
Vinit Nagool
Went for a Sunday breakfast for some good filter coffee and a rava masala dosa. For a south Indian joint the service was too slow, it took them near about 15 mins to get my order. Though the dosa turned out to be decent as expected but the sambhar was below par which was a bit of a shocker. <br/>Filter coffee was a big let down of all as it tasted pretty much like normal one. <br/>I tasted their special dosa from my Mom’s dish which was full of flavour and cheese but for ₹180 !! Totally not worth it. <br/>
Punjabikhushboo.kp
As soon as you enter this you can smell south India in the air. <br/>The ambience of this place is really good. The decor has a touch of the south to it and you are filled by the aroma of the food. <br/>I loved the idli and Pav bhaji. <br/>This place is also great if you just want to have snacks.
Sudhir🤓🤘
1) If you ever have craving for South Indian snacks than this is the place to visit.<br/>2) Nice and quick service, very reasonably priced.<br/>3) Must try Andhra Masala Dosa and Special veg thali.
Abhijit Vaiude
Had to go to this place as have been a regular at Matunga's thambbi.<br/><br/>Overall happy with the food. I have tasted so far sheera, medu vada, rassam vada, masala dosa, onion podi dosa which are all nice but the best dishes they offer are mini butter podi iddli, mysore bonda, Kela bhajiya, coffee, pineapple sheera.<br/>However the service needs a lot of improvement - some complaints - they are always understaffed, forget to give water even when reminded 3 times, forget to process the order etc.<br/><br/>Overall a decent place to curb your hunger with a South Indian treat!<br/><br/>Taste: 3/5<br/>Ambience:3/5<br/>Service: 2/5<br/>VFM:3/5
Kavita
Order mini idli which I expect to be small. Anyways 9 mini idli piece costs 90 rs plus 30 rs deliver charge. 10 rs for one mini idli. Too much cost with no quality

Hi zomatians, i am not a vegetarian food lover, but when it comes to south indian food like dosa, medu vada and stuffs I'm like a mad to have those food,<br/>let's talk about thambbi -<br/>went in saw a very clean and clear restro, nice ambience will surely give 3/5,<br/>service was also quite good, will give 3/5,<br/>let's tak about food now, I've ordered sada dosa, yes guys it was very nice in taste will give 3/5,<br/>after that went for rava masala dosa, it was also nice, will give 3/5,<br/>chutneys was good and sambara was also nice, will give 3.5/5<br/>Thanks thats all for now<br/><br/>Sign out audip bhattacharya
Sarthak Mohanty
Small and cosy place to have south Indian food..food is really tasty and less spicy even my daughter enjoyed however the restaurant is less attentive to in-house dinning restaurant which lead to delay in serving the order. The focus is more on home delivery orders .sad part is that delivery boys from swiggy, zomato and others are entering the kitchen area where by question on hygiene needs a second thought..
The MadCar Foodies
Went for the love of filter coffee. The service was slow Nd they even said that they are out of stock of milk which sounded quite weird. Later was served though. The service could have been better. The dosa Nd medu vada was good. It’s good but have had better filter coffees. Needs improvement.

5 stars for the Dahi vadas 😍<br/>Delicious! ordered for guests and all of them loved it....ordered Masala dosa too and sambhar was heavenly too.

Tasty dosas - masala, andhra and nachni... Great place for an evening snack or breakfast especially.<br/><br/>Pleasant memories of previously being Open House!

Great food, very pleasant ambiance and a good staff. Although I felt an absence of baby chair, I had come here to meet up with a friend after years, but waa difficult to eat and hold the baby also difficult to put the baby in the seat with us sitting as baby was too small to sit. Thambhi Has Been A Favorite For Long Time Now . <br/>Heres What I Usually Love At Thambhi . <br/><br/>Rasam Vada - This Is To Die For . must have if you love rasam . <br/><br/>Misal pav - the misal pav is my favorite at thambhi & again a must have . <br/><br/>Sambar rice - love the fact that the sambar is not sweet . Sweet sambar totally spoils the taste i feel .must have <br/><br/>Curd rice - the curd rice was slighlty disappointing , i would rather prefer sambar rice . <br/><br/>Rasam Rice - steals the show for me everytime . Luve it . Must have <br/><br/>Filter coffee - definetly the best filter coffee is served here , must have .

Special Mention and full on thumbs up for the food here. We had ordered a Thali and Butter Podi Idli from here.<br/>Absolutely mind blowing food. Loved the Thali which had come in cute small plastic containers. There were 2 vegetables one Sukka thai, one wet Bhaji, one curds, some rasam, some Dal - which was super heavenly. Extremely tasty south Indian styled food.<br/>The podi idli was stunning. Have already ordered twice from here and will keep doing.

Thambbi!<br/><br/>I m not really a fan of South Indian food but this restaurant made me love the south Indian food.<br/><br/>It is located in the Panch Pakhadi area. Just 15 -20 mins away from station area. The outlet is spacious and can accommodate good no of people. The outlet is always hell crowded any time of the day which totally justifies the taste and the quality of the food served here.<br/><br/>What I ordered -<br/>▪ Masala Dosa (5/5)<br/>The dosa was crispy and hot. It had a potato sabji filling inside and served with Coconut Chutney and Sambar. The Chutney tasted heavenly and the Sambar also was perfect.<br/>I highly recommend this💯<br/><br/>▪ Mysore Sada Dosa (3/5)<br/>Perfectly cooked does with the Mysore filling inside served with chutney and sambar.<br/><br/>▪ Uttapam (3/5)<br/><br/>All the south Indian food lovers should definitely check this place out✔<br/><br/>#tastentell<br/>

I think south indian is the best breakfast option and most of us love south indian food. So this has always been my favourite and goto place in case I want dont want to go for cheese pizzas, and heavy north indian food.<br/><br/>I love their idli and medu vada. Their sambhar and red chatni is amazing. Also, they have butter idli podi which I always order with extra butter 😃 and I still do not feel bad about eating so much butter. I love that dish. Their rasam is good too.<br/><br/>I have had their mysore masala dosa which I think can be better, did not like much. Neer dosa with butter and podi is also good. Daal khichdi is also good.<br/><br/>Problem with this place is they dont have their red chatni available all the time, you get it in the morning only. Also, few dishes would be available at particular time only.<br/><br/>Overall, good place to go when you quickly wana have idli, dosa and all. But dont expect much like other south indian places.

Visited many times this outlet. It’s in panch pakhadi. Place is small. But it’s very clean and neat place. They serve only South Indian food. Perfect taste. Got quick service. Staffs are very humble. Must visit place with family.

Thambbi as the name sounds is a South Indian restaurant and is famous for it's Fresh steamed idlis, Medhu wada, Utappas, Masala Dosas & not to forget Filter Caffi☺️. It's a routine for us to visit thambbi on every Diwali pahat. So if you guys want to kick start your day with a Healthy light breakfast then you should definitely visit Thambbi once. Let's talk about the food :<br/>I myself like the Masala dosa bt the idlis are also very soft n spongy. The coconut chutney is my personal favorite. Also they offer various combos which u can select. The shira is very good a must try! & The Filter coffee is a must must try.<br/>Ambiences : The ambience is nice, good to spend time with ur near and dear ones. It's simple sober yet so happening.<br/>Service : The service is okay not that great maybe because there is always a rush during mornings.<br/>Overall always a great experience visiting Thambbi. After living in Chennai for 2 years, Thambbi at Panch pakhadi is the only joint which takes me to a trip down the memory lane since I have moved to Thane. Try idli podi, dosa varieties or filter coffee; the restaurant is our go-to joint for a quick bite.
