This place is very calm and nice for a date or an office gathering. Customer service was very nice. The Imperial kitchen is a little bit luxurious we can say the same goes with the price also. I ordered chicken Tonkatsu as a starter. It was very good and filling. The sauce they provided with it was also nice. Their Alfredo chicken Pasta was amazing. It was the first time I had a proper pasta from Kerala.

The Imperial Kitchen is a modern day restaurant with a wide array of cuisines. Of course, I came with the intention of eating something more local and was not dissapointed. We had the : 1. Porotta - Soft, flaky and hot; I would not have liked it any other way. It was such a treat to eat it with the side dish or as is! 2. Fish Moily - Soft, well cooked and well infused with spiced and coconut milk. The gravy was delish as was the fish itself. 3. Chicken Stew - Best complimented with porotta was well balanced; the chicken was cooked right and spiced right! 4. Thali - this was had by the fam and they had no complaints. 5. Nadan Mutton Roast - Good spice, but the meat was overcooked with some being overly chewy (the only reason I had to lower the ranking) All in all a great experience and a place I wouldn't hesitate for a second visit.

on my first visit tried chicken pepper curry, it was a signature dish. on my second visit repeated the order, the pepper curry( chicken kurumulaku curry as they call it) tastes the same awesome but surprisingly I found difference in quantity. On new year eve quantity was less, felt disappointed .But great place to visit with family, neat and petite, good ambience.

I had a nice meal from this restaurant. The atmosphere and service was very nice at a reasonable price. We got a variety of items with the meal. Well clean and hygienic. Satisfied mind and tummy. ❤️

Easily one of the best restaurant properties in Trivandrum. Parking is sufficient in the evening counting the vacant areas in the road too. Not sure about day time when the nearby school is open. The ambience, property location and the hype created by social media efforts, walkie talkie weilding staff etc. justify the price point which is premium to similar restaurants. Service is good and staff behave conscious of the need to maintain the level expected though our soup took some time. However food does not have any 'wow' factor as reviewed by some. Of the order given on date, indonesian prawn clear soup was disappointing (not rich and had non edible flavouring ingredients). Quick fried chicken in garlic sauce did not live upto the fried tag (better call it chicken tossed in garlic sauce). Erachi ularthiyathu was good and authentic kottayam version. Penang sea food rice had a good 'sea' flavour but the squid in was a bit stale. Kids will like the 'Only oreo' shake but its at par with the common juice shop. All in all a good place for an evening with improvements needed on the food side(the actual purpose of the property if you keep away the hype and branding).

Nice ambience.. nice food.. went on Independence day and had their special Tri colour dishes.. Each one of them was spectacular.. except some technical service glitches and delays, everything else was spot on..

Tried their new property at Kowdiar. Good ambience, calm atmosphere. Nice place for family get together. Quality, quantity and service of food is excellent. Capacity is limited compared to the other branch.

Best restaurant in trivandrum.. The quality of food served is authentic and tasteful.. The meat, fish served is fresh.. They literally show you the raw fish options and give you detailing of the cuisine made.. Service is quick and the staff knows their job really well.. The ambience is pretty decent...Pandan chicken is just hyped.. Quantity is less.. Pricing is too high Rs 340/- for just 6 tiny pieces of chicken..overall a must visit ❤️

Good tasty food. I had koonthal roast and the kid had Alfredo penne pasta with chicken. The dessert King Faluda was good too. Very attentive servers and excellent ambience. The tables are reasonably spaced allowing for conversation. Parking attendants are helpful too. There is valet parking .

The Imperial Kitchen - Twice visited, twice delighted! Our culinary explorations led us to savor different cuisines on both occasions, and each time, a delightful experience unfolded. The menu offers a diverse array of choices, When the taste is average but the price is very high. The pleasing ambience only adds to the charm of this place. 🌮🍜 #CulinaryJourney #DelightfulDining #TasteBudsAdventures #VarietyOnPlate #MemorableMoments 💰🔝

Though it’s a multi cuisine restaurant we opted for Asian food. It was great food from a taste and quantity perspective. Great place in Trivandrum for variety foods. I don’t recommend to go with Biriyani options except Kerala Biriyani or their special Biriyani.
Harish ravindran
Good quality food. Tried their Beef Vindaloo which was very tasty. Their Delhi Butter chicken tikka was also amazing.

I've visited this place only once, and I must say it was a rather pleasant experience. We opted for the Kanthari Fish as an appetizer, and I must say that the dish was truly outstanding. The sauce it was served with was absolutely divine. While the mutton kofta left something to be desired, everything else was great. The tandoori rotis, in particular, were a standout for me.
JAYARAJAN MENON
Very good ambience, spacious, sufficient car parking facilities and great food. Lot of choice from international menu. Great place with family and children and friends. Good service

Never order Hyderabad biriyani. It was turmeric treated basmati rice with boiled chickn. I cudnt even through it out Bcos it was hugely priced for a half a portion. Tarnishing d name of a world famous cuisine

Pothi biriyani is awesome

A place so widely recommended, but unfortunately, disappointing experience, in terms of the taste, portion size and service.

I came here after a gap of 2 yrs. And it was an instant 1 star experience. Biggest disappointment was portion size. We ordered Dragon Chicken, Kashmiri something Chicken and Egg fried rice. Dragon chicken came exactly half as it was the last time I had. Half the plate was visibly empty. The Kashmiri dish was served in a laughably small pot. And egg fried rice came with bare traces of egg. (actually they tried to avoid that much egg too, cos first it came without any egg at all).

Dear management, you might have saved on a egg or two, but you have lost a very good customer in me. We pay the price you ask, at least live upto minimum expectations.

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. Place was crowded. Service is good.
Beef roast and fish curry were good.
Thai beef salad was bad. Crabmeat soup was just cornflour and ketchup with crab pieces. Fried ice cream was the worst item in their menu I guess. The coating was hard.
I think its better to stick to kerala dishes here
Neethu
I ordered imperial kitchen’s special biryani. There were tiny pieces of chicken scattered here and there. There was no complete pieces. It costs around 290 rs and this is what is served. Highly disappointed.

Tried this place for dinner tonight. The food and service was pathetic, the ambience good though . They need to maintain the quality of service even during rush hours or they would be seeing the customers fading away very soon ! Their air conditioning also doesn’t work well

When we have this tasty starters.... how can we go for main course?!🤷‍♀️
.
.
.
This is one of the best places in Trivandrum
Phoenix tail golden Fried Prawns 🍤, Fish Kurkure
Simply yummy, good service, good ambiance, very hygiene, family restaurant 🦋✨

One of my favorite places . Lot of different cuisine options and really tasty food , Have gone there more than ten times but still havent tried all their signature dishes .
Their chinese items are very good. Steak i found average . Ambience is quite good and nice place to hold a small party i mean a get together of friends . Service is good .
I tried their lunch and liked it . I would suggest stick to meat dishes as they were consistently good always . Price on little expensive side but appropriate for such a restaurant . Parking is there but grrrrrr.....That area is a happening place in trivandrum so always crowded . I suggest Uber :( or maybe my parking skills are pathetic .
Overall : recommended place especially if you are used to dining in metro cities like mumbai and delhi .

The Imperial Kitchen was one of the most suggested restaurants in Tvm by my friends... Went for dinner with my family and friends and I should say, the ambience was really nice... one of the most commendable thing about this outlet is their diverse menu... you have a wide range of cuisines to opt from... at times you will get confused on what to order... we order their crab meat soup, mixed grill platter, chicken biriyani, naan, roti, chicken tikka masala (I think so) and vegetable fried rice along with fried ice cream and some mocktails... every dish maintained a satisfactory quality and quantity... (crab meat soup and mixed grill platter were really awesome)... now for the price, it's a little bit pricy but the overall ambience and quality of food compemsates it... decent service (the person who handled our table didnot give us a pen to solve the puzzles on the table cover, eventhough we asked like 5 times.. lol).... Overall - worth trying if you like having a piece of not so common tastes , then its a must try...

Good restaurant. Nice and beautiful. But not very well maintained . Good place to hangout with friends. Good location and ambience. Good quality dishes.

The food supplied as per my order was good except for the noodles which smelled of some oil in excess, the vegetable stir fried was very good.
All other dishes were tasty, but no sauces viz. soya, chilli viniger and tomato ketchup were not provided.
Hope we get better attention in future.
Sabu Anchuparayil
How they can say this dish is Crunchy..Really not crunchy and there not that much meat..While they are saying it contains crunchy chicken, they must serve some chicken ,it seems like muringakkay in sambar😜😜😜

This place has one of the best ambience and the food is amazing. service is ok but sometimes we have to wait a lot for the food to arrive. pricing is decent of a premium restaurant. i suggest their pastas and grill items

Went there for lunch, ordered Appam, Kuttanadan Kozhi Curry, and South Speical Fish(Grilled)
The Chicken curry was a pure delicacy with the Appam, but however the Fish was not upto the standards as compared to the chicken, which was kind of a let down.
Final Thoughts

Food : Delicious, but it did take a quite a bit of time to come.

Staff : Very aware of the dishes and the contents, and did give us the best options according to our conditions and interests.

Ambience : Very dim, but well maintained

Price : A bit expensive for the dishes ordered.
Karthik R
Had Hyderabadi Chicken biriyani from here... Was so yummy and delicious except for the high amount of oil content in it... Moreover I waited for more than half an hour for the biriyani to arrive... Finally the lighting in the restaurant isn't appropriate, it's dim and there difficult to see even the Menu...

Overall Experience: 2.5/5
Food: 2.5/5
Ambience: 2/5
Service: 2/5

Casual dining. Went with family for dinner on New Years eve. Service was slow.

Food was average. The hot and sour chicken soup and the caramel custard were the best dishes out of the many things we ordered.

The Zomato reviews led us to the Imperial Kitchen. Located at the basement of the Trends building the stairs suddenly open up to the restaurant. Nice ambience and a well laid out waiting area welcomes you. That was pretty much where it started fizzing out. It was my Sister's anniversary and hence we wanted to get a cake and have it brought over to the table where we were seated. It took three people to each take the requirement and finally confirm the order. We ordered a Chicken Manchow Soup, Mangolian Chicken & Dragon Chicken as starters. A Chicken Hakka Noodles, Kulcha, Naan, Chicken Mughalai and Beef Curry. The place slowly filled up and people were waiting. The soup and Dragon chicken reached after 25 minutes. The waiter pushed the starter to the centre of the table and disappeared leaving us to serve it ourselves. The soup was extremely spicy and left a burning feeling. The wait continued and on enquiring the steward went in and told us the food will be out in a few minutes and viola the food arrived. The noodles was above average and the children enjoyed it. The chicken Mughalai was average and didn't feel as rich as the ones I have had in other places. The beef curry was good and spicy with a hint of hotness from the chillies. Roti and Naan were like any other place. We ordered an extra gravy since we felt we might need one more and ordered Chicken Tawa Gravy which was decent as well. We did rue the order since we were left waiting for another 20 minutes and the Kulcha went rubberish. Had also ordered a mint lime which I saw was waiting on the juice counter for 5 minutes post which I had to remind the steward of the order and he fetched the lime juice. Saw another set of juices sitting at the counter for 10 minutes before being picked up. Overall, just decent food and pathetic service. I'll go with 2 stars one for the food and one for the ambience. Would I visit again? The food was nothing exceptional and the service was not inspiring enough to be adventurous for another visit.

Good ambiance. As a vegetarian, worst place to visit. Very rare options for vegetarians and too to not good. Service is also very slow. My friend who had non veg food also bit not satisfied.
Nidhin Babu
We were there for my sister's birthday. The menu was unique and fresh. Meen Kariveppila Roast and Thattukada Chemmeen were the standouts for us.
Dr. Susan
Have been here a couple of times , but this time my dad suggested to try his favorite meen maanga curry, and I agreed , it was amazing , authentic flavour with a homely feel , never has a fish curry from hotel pleased us both this much... definitely will order it whenever I visit again

We went to this restaurant with my team. Heard of this restaurant from my wife and other friends for three years and eager to visit once. They also have nice bakery and had tasty truffle cake ( our friend bday party)

Location: near busy place like style plus, brand factory.
Seating: accommodate larger group like 10 in single table.
Waiting : less than 5mins for weekdays
Service: good and friendly
Favourite: Thai beef sizzler with basil sauce & ice lemon tea.
Price : little overpriced with quantity but OK!

Definitely visit with family soon!!

Ambience
Food quantity quality
Service
Everything is just one of the best in town !
Maintaining the same consistency always from the beginning !
Anitta Aloysious
They have a lot of variety dishes.. if you don't actually know the combination of food then you might end up in trouble. Starting from their Dragon chicken, which was my favourite.. up to their fried ice cream.. the taste was good. The quantity of salad was a bit less compared to other restaurants.. The beef ularthiyath you get there is just so yumm! Their sizzlers are a must try!

To be at a restaurant 3 times in 5 day stay, itself speaks volume of quality cuisine. Imperial kitchen doesn't makes high claims but it is the one restaurant in trivandrum which actually maintains very high standard of food. It is also possible that one may get confused looking at the menu, as endless list of cuisines are mentioned. No worries, seek assistance of their staff, who you will help you out with menu and according to your palate.
I particularly became fan of theirs grilled fish preparations with good choice of masala. Buddha's bounty is a vegetarian soup but definitely it will evoke one of the satiating and memorable taste! Theirs desserts are ok but not that good. Fried icecream is high on concept but less on palate!. Same can be said about chocolate brownie with ice cream.
Finally the ambiance is quite widespread and aesthetically decorated. But there wud be no mobile network once you are inside the restaurant 😀.
Aamil Abdul
Great ambience, refurbished menu has been a good change. Pastas needs improvement as flavours were a bit bland. Other than that everything's fine
Will visit again soon.
Nithin Chandran
Worst service ever, nobody gave us any kind of customary attention... didn’t even give us water. Had to wait for 30 mins just for the waiter to get us menus and another 40 mins for food, which by the way was hardly worth the money and time we spent there. The quantity and quality is laughable. The menu is all talk... We almost walked out because of the way we were treated but stayed back not to miss out on the food, which is apparently fake authentic. Theres no option to give them a negative star in here.
This place is only sustaining as its open till late night as most of the restaurant close by 10.30PM

The restaurant is located in heart of city, but still is lacking in several aspects. The delay in service is awful, and insolent staff of the restaurant really made our dinner miserable. No good quality veg menu, and whatever served was nothing better than an average dhaba. The seating is near the kitchen and often the smoke from kitchen makes us suffocate. Overall, one of the worst dinners i ever had to go through .pls dont visit with family
Sruthi Laura George
Horrible service. The waiters or the servers have no clue what to do. The ambience is noisy and humid. The waiters have to be told 10 times to get atleast a spoon, let alone the food. Food is horribly overrated. Salwa dine is 1000 times better

An amazing place to visit, your heart and tummy will be full with a smile on ur face. All dishes are a wow.... decent ambience and great taste we all loved all dishes ordered, it’s actually a rare thing.
Atulya Kumar
How does this place an average rating of 2.5 stars? There's a huge variety of good tasting food. The sizzlers, the pastas and the biryani are lip smacking. The restaurant has a low lighting which sets the mood for a great meal, great ambiance overall.
Rizvin Rasheed
Family Dinner during the Vacation @ This place gifted us a great Ambience esp with the plush waiting area and dim lighted dining experience.
Beef Sizzler presentation was good but when dug in didn’t give the result as expected from a medium cooked steak. The content in the mix platter was quite alright with tender chicken kebabs but really hard Mutton kebabs, though the prawns were ok. People, pls be specific when you ask for additional Hamoos or Mutabbal else you will end up getting the entire ‘Platter of Tabouleh, Muttabbal n Hamoos.

We had always liked the menu and food quality of Imperial. But the attitude of the staff there is very disappointing and irritating, which is bringing down the value of other wise one of the better dining option in Trivandrum. The staff are not cordial and lacking manners. It had happened couple of times with me and today we had to walk out after 10 min of wasting time as nobody even brother to show us a seat. Which ever seat we tried to occupy they said it is reserved and simply walked away. This looks bit awkward as kids were also there, so we decided to walk away. It could be a random experience, but wanted to highlight as it is one of my favourite place. Requestingt to take a serious note of this feedback so as to enhance the user experience at your place.

Being a Vegetarian, I would just say that it has a very limited option in Veggie Food. Place seemed nice and food was also good. Tibetan Noodles Vegetable were really good and I liked the Arabiata penne pasta.
Arjun Santosh
To see, it's a normal restaurant ambience with above par lighting. This place stands out for the excellent cuisine it provides. It is centrally located in one of the prime location which makes it easily accessible. Good mannered staffs and timely service is a cherry on the icing. :)

I was eagerly waiting for Zomato to launch in Trivandrum and my wish finally came true. This is my first review in Trivandrum and it’s about my favourite restaurant. Imperial Kitchen is one of the finest dine out options in Trivandrum. Our favourite pick from the menu is Mixed Grill Platter - the combination of grilled fish, lamb, chicken and prawns. It is served with kuboos bread along with hummus, garlic paste and other Arabic salads. ❤️
Harish Vijayan
Absolutely amazing place to dine out . Very good ambience ( whether its a date or with family) . Good service and great food , one of those places in trivandrum where the food tastes as good as it looks n boy it is really drool worthy !!

UPDATED: visited again after a while, ordered crab meat soup, prawn dishes, alfaham, sizzlers and biriyanis. Everything was spot on except the biriyanis. Biriyani was way way... Way off. Prawns, chicken and mutton all tasted the same except for different pieces it had. It was bland and flavorless. This biriyani made all the way to the bottom of the list in my list of biriyanis so far.

OLD REVIEW: Arguably one of the best place to eat out in the city. Food is awesome, wide selections of dishes, live counter and add the ambience.. What more can you ask for. Price is not budget friendly neither blood hungry.

One can definitely try it, without getting disappointed.
