The ambient at its best that gives you a great experience of an Indian cuisine
The food was delicious and also a sight for sore eyes. beautifully presented and almost too good to eat ! My Kids loved the Mushroom and the Paneer Kababs.
Very friendly place with a great ambiance. The food is also of good quality and the owners come and check up on us if they are around. We had an issue with a dish with they replaced readily. All in LL a great experience
Awesome ambience, Yummy or Finger liking food would be better to say. We had paneer makhani and butter chicken - my son's and my favorites respectively...No change in taste what so ever..tried same in Delhi so many times and now here..must visit restaurant for all..
One of the few restaurants that firmly adheres to the 'fine-dining' tag in Trivandrum and bringing proper justice to the food served. Quite a beautiful North Indian spread with Signatures of Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Shaam Savera, Gulaab E Gulkand are delicious and firm favorites. Nalli Rogan Ghosh and Ghosht Biriyani are flavorful and sublime. Appetizers are aplenty with both Veg and NonVeg options. Price tag is higher owing to their specialized menu. Parking and Valet available.
Oh.my.god. This restaurant exceeded my expectations by a solid ten miles. Me and my family went to this restaurant with just a touch of curiosity and were rewarded with what might be the best restaurant in Trivandrum. The ambience, food, staff, just the overall vibe of that place is truly something else. A definite 100/100. I recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere excellent to hang out with your friends and family !
Must try restaurent, excellent food. Cheese chilli chicken is a mouth watering dish. Good ambience for family dine out. Hassle free car parking.
Lovely place. Good food, comfortable portions & well presented. Spacious, friendly staff.
Food can be a little more spicy.. but that's my preference 🙂.
Average bill per person will be approximately Rs. 800-850.
Overall a good food experience.

Good food and worth the experience. Staff were very friendly too. It is a child friendly outlet .so overall good. Definitely worth all the stars
A must go to place for authentic North Indian delicacies. Very well laid out and aesthetically done up, the experience is lasting. Superb hospitality by the staff adds to the experience.
Trivandrum does not have much choice of restaurants for authentic North Indian food, so Yellow Chilli is a welcome change. The ambience and food was great. Some of the appetizers like the dahi wada shots and Chowringhee chilli chicken were absolutely delish. We also tried the butter chicken, paneer lababdar and the Lalla mussa. All of the dishes were cooked to perfection. Hope they keep the quality consistent!
Oh did i give 5 star! Yes, because i am in love with the food here.
I came here with my hungry gang for a win celebration dinner.
The first thing to notice before you plan to visit is the name Sanjeev Kapoor and then the ratings on Zomato. And when you enter, the great ambiance and staff adds up to increase the expectations.
Now comes the most important part, the food. The menu is not that big, but whatever is in the menu is awesome. Anyways we ordered for (listing it down coz the order is big and i want you to know all the dish you should definitely order)
1. 2 soups (not from readymade packets)
2. Palak cheese karara roll (veg and awsome)
3. Sarson k phool (veg and one on the top list)
4. Cheese chilli chicken tikka (non veg and mouth watering)
5. Angara laal mirch tikka (non veg and delicious)
6. Chanajor garam tikki (veg and tasty)
7. Sabnam ke moti (veg and super tasty)
8. Tandoori murg (non veg and delicious)
9. Murg hara pyaaz (non veg and love)
10. Adraki dhaniya paneer (veg and one of the best)
11. Shaam savera (veg and tasty)
12. Masakali (rose started tasting best after this)
13. Gajar ka halwa (m out of compliment)
14. Gulkand (the picture will speak)
The rates are little high, but the food makes it feel nothing.
Go here with few friends, so you can try a lot of things. And I am sure nothing can disappoint here.
Had a chat with the owner, they too were very welcoming people.
Super food. Starter Grills were super. Chicken curry was good.. but don’t remember the name. Mock tails were mouthwatering..great experience . Desserts were ok... can be little more better
The food is always wonderful. You will get to try new dishes other than the typical north indian fare.
Good mix of options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians.
Although the prices are on the higher side, one can always bet on clean, tasty food from here.
I urge the owners to please look into delivery options.
Weekends are always crowded and so the food takes time to be served. Parking also depends on this.
One of the best North Indian restaurants in Trivandrum. We ordered Butter chicken and Chicken tikka and Nan along with a chilly Gobi as starter.
The dishes are slightly over priced but taste, quality and quantity were awesome with a pleasing ambiance and great service.
A recommended place.!
We visited here as it is one of best known restaurants. At first,we were welcomed with drinks, and some snacks as complimentary. The food was tasty and kind of overpriced but the quality of the food they served was remarkable.
It was a nice eve with THE YELLOW CHILLI with my teenhood friends 👻! The food we ordered that evening was very good, Thanks to Sangeeth Menon, who suggested the menu and made our life easy and memorable with good food of The Yellow Chilli! Could meet the couple who's behind this venture and hats off to them! Masha Allah 😍 CHAAT KA NASHA ko phi Mubarak.... Next holidays NASHA is in my priority list 😎👻
One of the elegant and authentic north indian delicacies in trivandrum for a long period of tym. The food tastes great and the ambience is also good..Little overpriced for some dishes.. Chaat dishes are also good.
The problem i faced was the rude behaviour from one staff which was a long tym back and he asked us to move from one table to other because the table we sat was a four chair one. He coud hav asked us politely or just say in a nice manner that it was meant for only four guests. But instead he was just telling we cant sit here even wen there were many seats vacant. One other kind staff noticed it and rectified it. The next tym we went ther the staff were nice and i liked the fact that they are rectifying their mistakes.
It's a really great place for food lovers. The ambiance and cleanliness they maintain is really commendable. The food taste is also really awesome. The only negative is the price point. Yeah this is a branded restaurant even though the price they are charging is a little bit higher. Biriyani is one of the must try dishes. Highly recommend.
Great ambience, excellent service and several signature dishes make Yellow Chilli a must visit for those looking for a fine-dining experience. We were offered a welcome drink and some fryums with mint chutney. As vegetarians, we were happy to see a lot of options for vegetarian dishes. We ordered tomato shorba soup which was light and tasted amazing. From the many starters we selected a mushroom starter which had a unique description but taste was only okay. The bread’s selection had variety and we ordered a paneer main course. The butter garlic naan and phulka were soft and paired well with the gravy. Had to pay extra for the mineral water though.
Overall experience
7.0/10
Do try the signature dishes.
Superb taste and ample quantity! Highly recommended if you're looking for authentic North Indian dishes. Interiors could be improved for a better dining experience! Better to go book a table or else go there by 18:30 for dinner as the place gets crowded after 20:30!
Possibly the best North Indian restaurant in Trivandrum. Signature dishes, excellent quality and quantity. Very friendly management and staff. The portion size justifies the price. The ambiance is also really awesome. A must try if you want to try authentic North Indian dishes in Trivandrum.
A must visit place if you love North Indian Cuisine. The hospitality was really commendable. Starting from the welcome drinks and masala papad, our family enjoyed the food thoroughly and would definitely suggest to other friends and family. They made sure the kids were also engaged until the food was prepared. Another unique thing about the place is it's veg cuisine which is in par with the non veg dishes. Really had a great time. Their gulab jamun is a must try if you happen to visit the restaurant.
Save this post for the next time you are hungry and need a restaurant recommendation in Trivandrum!
Growing up I watched Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s cooking show so I couldn’t resist the chance to visit his restaurant when we were visiting Trivandrum! The cuisine is North Indian of course and the flavors were on point!
We started with the a welcome drink & the Cheese Chilli Tikka - my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
The main course included Do Pyaza ki Bhindi, Tariwala Murgh and the Bhuna Ghost served with Pulao and Naan! I’m a foodie and when I tell you the flavors were on point I mean it! So.Delicious!
The Peru Pyala mocktail was a fantastic blend of sweet and spicy.
However the perfect ending to our meal included the Gulab-e-gulkand! Who would have thought that rose petals in gulab jamun could be so divine!
While I’ve raved about the food, the ambiance of the restaurant is well worth a mention! The art and the murals highlighting important monuments in Trivandrum are really charming and add to the overall experience.
Ok I’ve said my piece - now go and take your family or that special someone on a date night @tyctvm!
It may not be a cheap meal but the experience will be well worth the money.
Ps: The Yellow Chilli Trivandrum just won The Best North Indian - International Chain Award for 2022 - need I say more?!

One of the best fine dining restaurant in Trivandrum. You can taste some exotic North Indian & Mughlai recipes here. Their signature dishes are worth a try. Since it's part of the SK chain of restaurant the price is a bit on the higher side; but it's worth. We have tried their Cheese Chilli Chicken Tikka & Chowringhee Chilli Chicken
as starters and both were good. For the main course Butter Chicken, Bhuna Ghost and Dum Gosht Biryani were good. They have boneless meat for all dishes and most of the dishes are enough for two people. The service was also good. Definitely a must try, especially if you are a north Indian or vegetarian food lover.
This restaurant has been a great discovery for me. The food is delectable, ambience wonderful and the service excellent. Every penny well spent! I would love dine there again. Do try it and see. I am sure anyone eating here will be delighted!
A premium place with good ambience providing authentic north Indian delicacy. Visited 2 times as of this writing. There is attention to detail and taste in all the offerings. The owners are often visible attending to guests, guiding the food choices and taking feedback which is a nice gesture.
Must try in starters - Paneer tikka - really soft tender cubes grilled in the right flavor hard to get at many good restaurants. Also mentioning mutton soup (gosht kali mirch ka shorba) which was awesome and gulab-e-gulkand in sweets is their jewel in the crown. There are enough options for vegetarians too.
Being away from main road, parking is available nearby and staff helps in this regard. The front road has a water logging problem during rains. Reserving table on phone is adviced on holidays or rush season.
Suggest the North Indian food lovers to try the food here. The ambience is very good. The chicken entree platter was pretty good with delicious varities. It is a must try. Palak paneer was delicious.
Tried the mutton biriyani available here but one might not find the preparation very tasty if one is fond of Hyderabadi biriyani.
One point worth mentioning is that the restaurant is not at all budget friendly. It is way overpriced.
