I had vegetarian meals from this place. Food tasted fine. It could have been a better experience if they can include Moru curry too with Sambar. Staff were friendly. The parking area is very limited. Security chettan is very active with a smiling face.

Food was pretty good.
Meals were fine with affordable rates. They don't run out off food even at odd hours.
It can be maintained a bit more clean.

Liked the place, as a tourist its not a fine dining restaurant, its is basic kerala style (100%) restaurant. Food quality is good and the good service. Remember thwy serve only red rice ๐

Liked the ambiance. Food is good, a bit understaffed at times, but overall it was a pleasing experience. Definitely would go back to taste more dishes.

Why so much hate for this place??? I keep hearing a lot of people complain about this place but honestly, I've had a great experience with them. The place is very well managed. And the top floor has good ambiance and ventilation. The food is good but a bit pricey but far from expensive. Loves the lemonade here. It was really fresh for some reason. The bamboo Biriyani was great too eventhough it did feel a bit dry. Would recommend for the ambiance and food. Definitely going to come back here soon.

Bamboo biriyani is their special item.. i am not a big biriyani lover though, i like their bamboo biriyani. I still remember the first thing i had from their. Its chapathi and vegetable stew. At that time, i cant eat non veg food. When I ordered vegetable stew, i didnt expect much. But it was much above my expectations. I love the taste. After that i tasted their non veg item also.

This hotel delivered an exceptional culinary experience for breakfast and lunch. The extensive breakfast buffet and made-to-order stations impressed, while the diverse lunch menu showcased skilled craftsmanship. Impeccable service and tastefully designed dining areas added to the remarkable experience. Highly recommended.

Poomaram is a perfect place to enjoy Authentic and Delicious Kerala Meals. They have a number of vegetable thorans (sabzis), Veg curries, Pappadam, Fish Gravy and variety of Fish Fries (exclusive of the meals) to choose from. Fish selections include Ayila, Prawns, Mathi, Nattholi, Neymeen, etc. They also have Chicken and Beef fry and roast.
It's can get crowded sometimes on Weekends during the Lunch peak hours. But there is enough seating available.
With the quality of Meals and price of 105/- the place is quite affordable compared to other pricey places.
The place is situated near Aakulam - Kochuveli on the Trivandrum Bypass Road (right opposite to the upcoming LuLu Mall). So the place is very well accessible and connected. Parking will have to be done the Bypass Road itself as they don't have a separate parking area.
Not to forget they have a lovely Ambiance, Decora and music for an enjoyable afternoon lunch. ๐

Poomaram is one of the most clean restaurant in and around kazhakootam and kulathoor area. Loads of techies personal choice is ram's kitchen. I used to go once in a week to have some sea food which is very fresh and tasting great.
Had lunch from poomaram ..
Mr Sukil Ram , your service improved a lot . About the rates .. I had a meals and a Squid roast , 100 rs fr Meals and the same rates for Squid aswell ..think meals rate is slightly on the higher side , taste was good , sambhar ,pulliseri, parippu all three tasted homely . The Meen curry was heavenly, awesome preparation with kappa which was cooked perfectly tasted divine.
Expectation betrayed me a little when I had squid roast , quantity was ok but the taste was just fine and was different as I felt a bitterness in it(I felt) . Was about to have a verbal review with sukil , but people were waiting to meet him in person for thier valuable suggestions.
Owner Mr. Sukil has just started his venture ,yet he quickly risen through the ranks to operate trivandrum's one of the best restaurant.
All in all go for the fish curry meals.

One of the best hotels I would suggest to drop for having traditional keralite lunch. They also have mouthwatering 4 to 5 fish items. Both fish fry and fish curry items are super tasty. They also have variety of biriyanis. Bamboo biriyani is one of the highlighted item here. Almost I love all the dishes because of the way they are prepared. Cash and card payments are available. They don't have dedicated parking facility but ample parking available in front of the restaurant and along the service road. The staff are friendly and courteous. Overall we will get a good eating experience with a good ambience.

Very nice restuarant for eating kerala style lunch..

Customer service is worst, arrogant. Food is above average but customer dealings will spoil everything.

One of the best restaurants in Trivandrum. Loved their bamboo chicken biryani, meals and mango juice.. Prawns fry was slightly expensive. The dish had more head pieces in it.. Menu cards were not given or placed on the table. Which for me is a must. Hope the management takes for this next time.. Would love to visit this place again with family.

Pros: Good ambience, Ram (owner) was a good host, Value for money.
Cons: Ventilation could be better as it is slightly hot inside.

Bamboo looks nice but doesn't taste so good!

On a fine afternoon I ordered bamboo biryani and it just didn't work for me.I didn't find it any special and value for money.

Won't recommend.

Food not up to the mark.Seems the restaurant has a Tamil Nadu influence. Missing out on the critical Kerala taste. Lunch meals and Fish fry totally missing the mark. I would not recommend this place for any one looking for authentic Kerala food

We went here to have a proper kerala sadhya.
I was little skeptical after seeing the rating but truly telling the food is worth tasting.
It's only 100/- per plate with enough variety.
Must try.

Arguably the best biryani in town. Yes, paragon and Ajwa included. The bamboo biryani is the jewel in an otherwise limited menu. But then who wants 15 variants of Chinese fried rice in a never ending menu?

Read lot of good reviews and some negative eviews about Poomaram in a FB group. Again with my Family, I went to have dinner at Sukil's Poomaram.

The restraunt is located to upcoming Lulu Mall Trivandrum and adjacent to Kerala Hotel in the Kazhakootam - Chaka Bypass.

We reached around 8.45Pm. In the entrance there was the boad with a few items like the Famous Poomaram Bamboo Biriyani, Irachi Puttu, Karimeen Fry, Poth Roast etc. We went to the top floor, there was 3 tables occupied. We were five and it was a little tough to adjust in the table. The seating arrangement was ideal for 4 - 2 in each bench and there were no extra Chairs there. The ambience is good.

Even though there were a few guys taking the order it took around 5 minutes for someone to come to us and tell what were available. We wanted to try the Bamboo Biriyani and Kizhi Parotta, but both of the items got over. We then ordered Ari Pathiri, Appam, Chapathi, Irachi Puttu [1 Beef and 1 Chicken], Chicken Kanthari and Poth Roast. The food got served in 10 minutes. All the items were good. We also ordered Lemon Juice and Mint Lemon Juice, both again good.

Overall Happy. The service should have been a little faster. Will go back again and have the Bamboo biriyani, and the achayan's oonu (Meals)

I visited this place with my family and for a non mallu foodie, I found this place great.

Itโs a pretty new restaurant opened opposite to upcoming lulu mall. Owner was very kind and took the suggestions well.

We ordered
Poth roast(best of their offerings) - both my husband and bro in law relished. They were describing the tasty dish even till the next day.
Erachi Puttu - again it was โraksha illa๐๐ป โ like my bro in law says
Kozhi Puttu - I tried this for the very first time and I loved the combination. I felt Puttu quantity could be more
Kareemeen fry- ๐คค my fav and i wasnโt disappointed
Appam- it was fine
Kadala curry - Hawwttt, I generally eat hot but this was over my capacity. But very tasty and authentic

Everything was hot but I love the spice.

Only thing I noted was the foul smell from nearby waste but not sure if this can be avoided.

Ambience is decent and no special mention

If you are at Trivandrum do visit this restaurant
