Review O Cafe - Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)

Restaurant inside O by Tamara. Went for company lunch. Liked their varieties. There were different things to try. I haven't tried the usual dishes. Starters had chicken tikka and fish finger kind. Then there was beef with veggies and a fish dish which was kind of continental. Salad with fish was very good. Chicken was okay. There were shots of prawns, squid, beef etc. They looked cool, but taste was just okay. Pickles of beef, fish and prawns were good. Goes with kerala rice well. Kappa was nicely made. Home style, but had some authentic taste. Fish curry was good. There was a surprise in dessert which was prathaman(payasam). Usually am not fan of it, but this one was really good. Lot of other sweets like, gulab jamun, different pastries, ice creams were there. One thing which didn't meet my expectation was ras malai. I don't know why it was a different taste altogether. Overall very satisfying as we don't get too many varieties these days in buffets even. I haven't mentioned many things along with vegetarian varaieties.

A very spacious well laid out restaurant. Great ambience. Service is excellent. Wiaters are very helpful with numerous suggestions. Service is quick. Food is tasty. Restrooms are very clean and spacious. The view on the terrace is grand. Overall worth a visit.

I came here for my first anniversary candle light dinner. It was amazingly set up. The food was amazing, the chef came out and asked if we liked the food. The staff was very courteous and I loved the whole vibe.

Great ambiance, really helpful staffs. Food was good however, flavours were subtle. I would prefer flavours to be more than subtle but not punchy. Food is nicely presented on the plate. Ambience is really good. The buffet options are really good. I have opted buffet couple of times, options differs each visit. Food quality is rely good!

Beautiful seating.. Enjoyable dinner... We had made a reservation.. Dinner went without any hassel.. Good views.. Food was tasty.. Menu was a bit frustrating as it was the scanned one.. Difficult to go through..

I tried the breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. I was extremely loved it. The portions are also well enough for the price. Since this restaurant is a part of O by Tamara, a 5 start Hotel. The price is a bit high. How ever, for celebrating special occasions I highly recommend this place. I really loved each dishes I ordered. All dishes exceeded my expectation. Let the pictures said the rest. I highly recommended this place for a must try.

Was not expecting the food would be this goood. The local selection and international selection works really well. Had curries , veg lasagna and fish /prawn grill .Service was excellent and the highlight was the chocolate cake. Vaishak was very nice and professional, thank you

Went to tamara for a official meeting..food was nice ..but.. buffet started quite earlier due to that ..most of the things finished so fast

As expected, it was on the expensive side but so was the spread and service. Presentation, spread, service, ambience everything was spot on. Main course has Chicken, mutton, beef, fish and lot of veg options which I naturally skipped. Special mention for their salad and dessert spread. After food you can enjoy some time by the pool side. Hoping to experience dinner too sometime soon.

We stayed there for 2 nights, so the breakfast was really good. The options were damn nice and totally worth it. But then there were some shortcomings too, when we had lunch past their lunch time, we had asked for extra hot coffee & they didn't really follow the instructions. And the cheese omelette we had asked for from the live counter was rather bland and it came some 30 mins after we had ordered. Other than that, everything else was damn good, the staff were friendly as well. Also it kind of gets a bit busy during peak hours, so plan ahead.

Good food and great ambiance by the pool. Will definitely visit again.

One of the best and personally my top choice for buffet and dining in Trivandrum. I love the fact that they focus and craft amazing local dishes to perfection. Appreciate the chefs for showing appreciation to local cuisines and giving the diners nothing but the best. All of my family members love the place as well. The menu is widespread and some snack/ grill options are also available outside by the pool. The ambience is good and will definitely visit again.

O by Tamara. Great ambience, great property, extremely helpful and humble staff. the ambience is so great to celebrate special events. The spread is large and tastes above average. The starter grill or the live counters were limited in varieties.Salads were bland with no hint of the dressing. Dessert spread was an assortment of cake varieties.No mousse or souffle, a trifle or panacotta? I am not saying the food was bad , but for the brand & price, thiss bit below the benchmark.
