Review Neelam Restaurant - Udaipur

Family owned restaurant. The husband serves and the wife cooks, and even so the service is fast! Both very friendly and professional. The food is great and inexpensive, I went there for dinner and returned there the following day for lunch. But most of all, she hosts cooking lessons and you get to learn how to cook those delicious dishes! I highly recommend it!

Really nice restaurant to enjoy the view and really good and tasty food! Neelam does cooking classes as well and it’s like to cook with your untie, she is super sweet and teaches how to make proper Indian food! If you have any plates you would like to learn to cook she is keen to adapt the menu on your request! Really nice experience! Thank you

Very homely and tastey food, lunch, dinner, very close to Shree Jagdish temple. Pure vegitarian food so good for vegitarian people as in udaipur very few restaurants are pure veg. Owner uncle and aunty are nice in nature.

Rooftop restaurant ...the climb up will give you an appetite. Great service and food. Cook to your liking and ask and they will cook to spice level.

Visited Dec 2023. Visited this place only once. Had Gatte Ki Subzi and Lassi. Was pretty good. Owner is very friendly and prepares food as per your taste. Family restaurant. Climb up is a bit difficult :-) Nice view from the terrace.

Best food I’ve had in India. Me and my friends have eaten here several times over the last week and between us we’ve sampled pretty much the whole menu. Super hygienic, super tasty food with great service and very affordable prices. We even asked Neelam for a couple of her recipes for our favourite. Such a lovely family and you won’t leave hungry!

Neelam’s place is such a gem. Compared to other places it’s very affordable and food is prepared fresh. Good value. Very romantic rooftop terrace with sunset view. Highly recommend Neelam’s cooking class where you can learn indian cuisine and get yourself full of tasty food at the same time :)

This place was recommended to me by someone else, and I'm not disappointed at all. They make the food fresh, pure vegetarian, and serve it piping hot, made with pure ghee. They also have unlimited thali, but it cannot be shared with others. (You can have an unlimited thali for yourself.) ...I cannot praise the food enough. It's really worth a visit. And the views from the haveli are fantastic.

Best place to have food if you are in Udaipur and are on the shores of lake pichola. Truely surpassed my expectations just great😊

It is located near the Jadgish Temple and seatings are available on two floor. Pick the roof top for a scenic view of the city. We ordered Dal Bati, Lassi and Pineapple Juice. All of which was amazing. The Dal Bati was delicious and would highly recommend that. The drinks were fresh and the service was very warm. Overall a great experience.

This place is not as good as it's used to be. I ordered the veg thali and the rice was half cooked. The service was just ok. All in all, it's an ok place to go eat, but if you have other options give this place a miss.

Its tastiest homemade food you can ever find in Udaipur. Food is cooked by this lovely woman called Neelam and she makes it with so much of love. It's also real authentic Indian food. Oh and Dal baati are out of this world.

We were staying near lake pichola, Gangaur ghat when we found this restaurant.
This restaurant is simply amazing, food very good and tasty.
Feels like home when we eat at Neelam.
The only thing I would want to add if I could is more options and more dishes in menu.

Everything in the menu tastes very very good.
We have had almost every item from manu, starting with parathas to Thali :)

Price is very reasonable.
I will recommend this restaurant if you want to have stomach full tasty food.

Good place to have home made food! We ordered sev tamatar sabji, rotis served hot dipped with delicious pure ghee, and veg pulao. Veg pulao was average.

The place can easily be missed due to the location , also the seating is bit disappointed .
But if u talk about the food , it's wow..
It's total home made food with less oil
The dal , mix veg and roti combo is love.
Do try their Poha .. it's amazing

Who would not like food served straight out of stove! 😃 Really amazing place run by a family. Kind of a house converted into a restaurant. Super delicious food with super cheap rates! Cheapest in the city I would say.
When it comes to taste, I would give 200/100! Yes, it is that great!
Ambiance is not that good, typical home like dhaaba on 3rd floor.
They have limited options in the menu.
But you have to visit here once to have that authentic Rajasthani taste.
Must have: Jeera Aloo, Daal Bati

The food is simple yet tasty, just like one gets in their home. But, the prices are high, considering the quantity that we receive. Good option for a change.

If you want to have tasty home made food then neelam aunty's place is where you should go. Their unlimited thali is a huge hit and they do no compromise on the quality they serve. Do try the baigan ka bharta (eggplant dish) as it is really well cooked there. What adds to the taste is the ever present smile on the faces of uncle and aunty.

Neelam aunty is a great cook with food as good as home made, been to Udaipur several times and preffered having my meals there, the restaurent is not 500 for two but one can normally have an eat all you can Thali for 160 Rs for one, great hospitality and Lovely family, and Now they have a wifi connection too!

Restaurant is a nice place run by a family. The food tasted just like home.Tried punjabi thali which was delicious.
The host was humble and served food with kind heart. Price was also reasonable for place like udaipur.

Best homely and fresh food served over here. Very tasty and delicious food. Cost of thali RS. 150 per person. It includes 2 veggies 1 dal chawal and rotis.

One of the best restaurants if u are looking for some homecooked food, its simple and one of the best meals i’ve had in udaipur, you should definately have some parathas and thali

In the end it matters the most! After a week tour de rajasthane we were carving for a home made kinda restrau.. and here we found this Neelam from nowhere.. ..super tasty strictly no additives kinda food... Heart of Udaipur market.. service slow as there is only two service personnel. But highly recommended if u wanna try easily digestible home made kind delicious fresh hot food.

It is, what it is...A place to get a tasty and inexpensive thali... Definitely recommended if you're hungry, in the area and looking for a bite to eat

Sometimes we tend to find few places out of nowhere, which in the end turns out to be our best catch. Neelam restaurant is one of the catch that we made on an early morning as we arrived in Udaipur. It’s an amazing vegetarian family owned restaurant with simple décor, and all the meals are prepared by the owner (aunty) herself, and served by her husband. As, the food is homemade, hence quality is never compromised.

Although, you need to pass through narrow staircase towards the second floor where the restaurant is located, but in the end you will always be satisfied with the quality of food offered by them at reasonable rates.

I would recommend this food joint to all the travelers and persons who would like to savor the homemade food when away from their home.
:)

This place is inconspicuously located in the center of the city at the prime location near Gangaur Ghat. They offer delicious homemade food at prices well below what other rooftop restaurants offer in the surrounding location. The restaurant owner is very kind and offers any guidance you require for traveling around Udaipur. We ordered Bhindi Fry, Dal Tadka, Gatte ka Sabzi, Steam Rice, and Roti. They also offer Thali for 150 bucks. This is a must visit during Lunch time and offers decent view of the Gangaur Ghat area.

Service is not good...this is not a restaurant..its a home kitchen...cleanliness is a thing for which was missing plus it's on third floor with narrow staircase

Really fantastic food! Gulab jamuns are delicious and thali has the right amount of flavour (and I don't mean heat) that isn't toned down for foreign tourists, like most other restaurants in the area. View and ambience is below average, but the food makes up for everything.

Amazing vegetarian family owned restaurant with simple decor. Literally the mother cooking in the kitchen and the boy taking the orders. Price is also very good with 2 people full for only 320 rupee with drinks.
