Review 1559 Ad - Udaipur

Surbhi
Located very close to The Lalit Udaipur, a great spot for cosy lunches or romantic dinners. They have sitting indoors and outdoors. Doesn't have a lake views, but their ambience is quiet good. Their service and food is delicious too!

The place is good with a good atmosphere and service..The food was decent in terms of quantity and taste.Mutton keema with peas was a bit okayish..but the afghani chicken, naan and rice were good. The dessert was also okay. The garden adds beauty to the place .The staff is good and service is fast.

Right from when Mr. Umed Singh, with his fantastic moustache, welcomes you at the gate, till the sweet dish is served, 1559AD checks all the points as a premium restaurant. Service, food quality, ambience, courtesy, live music, and the Rajasthani touch. Mr. Ramesh Joshi not only serves, but also recommends the best dishes, and makes multiple trips to the table to ensure everything is fine. We had Laal Maas, the top top dish in my opinion. To balance the spices of laal maas, Safed Murgh was ordered, which was surprisingly light and creamy. Keema Baati, even though being ultra heavy, did entice our taste buds, the taste was perfect when coupled with the keema curry they gave, and a bit of safed murgh gravy. For the Appetizers we had Reshmi Seekh Kebab, it was a respectable 8/10. And the sweet dish was Pista Badam Kulfi, which was loaded with dry fruits. Overall, a beautiful, tasty, and heavy setting, but not an evening that we have any complaints about. For people who haven't been here before, make this your first dinner stop in Udaipur, The location is also perfect between the two lakes, you can go for an evening stroll to Fateh Sagar for the sunset, before arriving here. We took a garden table in the month of October, and the weather was very pleasant. And please do not forget to tip the fantastic staff for their service, 1559 does not charge a service charge. Once again, a heartfelt thank you to 1559 AD and their staff. 🙏🏻

It was a great place to spend time and the musicians were superb. They played so beautifully.

I don’t really make efforts to compliment restaurants in reviews but this had to be done. Fish and Chips was a masterclass dish. If you love Fish, this is the food for you. I have eaten this dish in a lot of restaurants, but have never enjoyed it as much as this. The crunchy skin and the smooth texture of the fish just satisfied my every bite over my tongue. Try the apple crumble pie too! Its sweet with caramel and cinnamon. I enjoyed it so much! If you’re in Udaipur as a tourist, you need to eat here!

1559 AD should be on your list if you are visiting Udaipur. Parking is easily available and free. It transports you to old world charm. It's tranquil ambience, delicious food, live music everything is a perfect setting for a luxury dinner with family or someone special. We loved daal baati churma, navratan korma, fish and chips and dum aloo. Ramesh ji is an excellent person when it comes to hospitality. He took personal care of each detail. A must must visit!

Ambiance: 1559 AD Restaurant is located very close to Fateh Sagar, one of the most popular lakes in Udaipur. The entrance to the restaurant is through a green walkway, which creates a calming and inviting atmosphere. There are two seating options available: an open garden and a closed area. We decided to sit in the open garden. The outdoor area is decorated with lush greenery and colorful flowers, creating a perfect setting for a romantic dinner or a casual meal with friends. Food: The food at 1559 AD Restaurant is excellent. We tried a variety of dishes, including garlic mushrooms, a platter of assorted appetizers, vegetable lasagna, lemon coriander soup, and chocolate brownie. All of the dishes were well-prepared and flavorful. The garlic mushrooms were particularly delicious, with a crispy exterior and a juicy interior. The vegetable lasagna was also very good, with a generous amount of vegetables and a creamy cheese sauce. The lemon coriander soup was refreshing and flavorful, and the chocolate brownie was decadent and rich. Overall: 1599 AD Restaurant is a great option for a meal in Udaipur. The restaurant offers a beautiful ambiance, excellent food, and fast and efficient service. It is a good place to visit with friends or family, and it is perfect for both romantic dinners and casual meals

Just by entering this place, I got a happy face. The aesthetic of this place is wonderful. Having dinner at this place feels like having a royal dinner in ancient times. The place is worth visiting. The food was also yum. The daal baati plate of 1559 AD is one of the best things to eat in Udaipur. It also offers alfresco dining. The flute show at the entrance is commendable. Loved it !

Food so good we went there for lunch and decided to go there again for dinner! Perfect for tasting the traditional Rajasthani delicacies, the taste is markedly different (in a good way of course) compared to other places in and outside Rajasthan where I've had the same items. Service is a bit slow but I guess that's because the place is packed almost all the time. We got a bit late to get there in the evening but they were kind enough to allow us the last order of the day. Overall, highly recommended if you're looking for an authentic taste of Rajasthan!

The restaurant exceeded expectations with its delicious cuisine and impeccable service. The diverse menu showcased culinary expertise, and the staff's friendly and efficient service added a personal touch. A definite go-to for a memorable dining experience, deserving of a solid four-star rating.

Great ambience, good service and amazing food, 100% recommend for a family rendezvous. Overall good experience

Nice hospitality, dinner was slight costly but the test was mouthwatering. The quantity of starters requires little more. The service and behaviour of the staff was superb. Must visit with friends and family.

Experience a delightful stay at 1559 AD Hotel, where history meets comfort. The cozy rooms and friendly staff are complemented by delicious food options. Whether you're savoring a hearty breakfast or indulging in local flavors for dinner, the culinary experience adds a tasty touch to your stay

Nice laid back location near Lake fathesagar. Very nice Ambience and high on cleanliness. Staff is more professional as compared to most of restuarant in Udaipur with neat costumes. Restaurant consistes of outdoor garden, and two different indoor seating, bar, cafe and waiting room. Beautiful Decor. Live music and grate food. Parking is not a Hassel.

1559 AD is the best restaurant near Fateh Sagar lake. Food is great. Ambiance takes you back in history and really quiet. Staff is courteous.

The food was amazing !!!!!! We had the lasagna and the hera bera kababs ( trust me on this) which were amazing!!! The staff was nice and courteous and the food came quite fast. We had a chocolate milkshake which was nice thick and the chocolate taste was so nice!( I don’t like bad chocolate and this was soooo nice). Overall great experience and will come here again ! Was a little pricey but the quality was nice so it was worth it. Would rate it more if had the option!😉

Great food! Fresh and sizzling hot daal baati, great tasting Ker Sangri. We had a good experience at 1559AD. Cost for 2 came to be around 2675/- with drinks. Thumbs up 👍

I had a wonderful experience at BBQ food was very good, there were a lot of choice in veg and non veg buffet and freshness of ingredients were the start of the entire experience and I would like to mention Mr. Dheeraj at service team for his consistent efforts to make our food experience even more beautiful and I would love to thank the restaurant manager there for taking care of our dinning experience. Thanks we. Will definitely recommend this place to our family and friends

Lovely place great ambience. <br/>They have both indoor and outdoor seating arrangement. A bit expensive but worth it.<br/><br/>They serve alcohol as well.<br/><br/>Tried traditional Rajasthani laal maans which was delicious along with soft butter naan. Hakka noodles were good in taste too.<br/><br/>Overall a great place.
Maanya Shah
The place has a very cosy and comfortable vibe to it. Fit for all kinds of occasions and a very friendly staff. the food was wonderful specially the dal baati and churma. Worth the experience. Also, Zomato gold applies here which is a plus point.

I was very excited to visit this restaurant. Unfortunately the chicken sandwiches that I ordered were not fresh(chicken had some smell) <br/>Red Thai curry chicken was average and the chicken chunks were hard. <br/>I will not recommend this place.
Raj K
I Food quality is just hopeless 😭, ordered a biryani and got kind of chicken khichdi , cancelled it and ordered chicken fried rice which was once again came like a rice fried in soya sauce only,..was hungry so had it...no choice left.
Nishadh Amonkar
Had been here for lunch. The Laal Maas is splendid, optimum level of spice. The ambience also is very royal
Kapil Chabra
Awesome experience it was being at 1559 Restaurent .<br/>Food quality is awesome , staff is very supportive .

1559 AD is probably one of the most recommended eateries in Udaipur and definitely the most overrated. Was recommended to us by multiple people during our stay in Udaipur so we decided to give it a try.<br/>Great ambience. The place makes a great impression with the music and the decor.<br/><br/>Unsatisfactory food. The food was bland and quantity was unsatisfactory. The lal Maas was average, chilli chicken good and the pizza,Dal and noodles way below what we expected. The pizza in particular was terrible and service wasn't good enough either. Could give it a miss.
Divyangna Parikh
This is the third visit to 1559AD.<br/>And the food was very very average.<br/>To top it off, the pricing is crazy expensive to even give a 3 stars for the food.<br/>Service is great though.<br/><br/>Masala papad only had tomato and capsicum, no cucumber, no cilantro and no lemon<br/><br/>Hara bhara kebab was pretty dry.<br/><br/>Paneer chilli was okay.<br/><br/>Lasagna and risotto was really good! Loved the consistency and the taste.<br/><br/>Pizza was like what a local shop would serve, very very average.<br/><br/>Dal tadka and jeera rice was okay!<br/><br/>Spent 750 per person without any alcohol and not satisfied with the meal.

Somebody recommended it to me, so I went there with 4 friends of mine. What turned us down quickly was there apathy towards us. They were simply not interested in serving us. They only wanted to serve the foreigners it seemed. It's a pretty bad feeling when you get treated like that in your own country. I wanted to leave but as my friends were hungry so we decided to stay. The foreigners were being made to sit inside, however when we asked if seating was available inside, we got a blunt and quick NO. Then we asked them about their speciality. They said you can see from the menu, which is just not acceptable. The food turned out to be very average too.<br/>My advice to them is, kindly put out a board outside stating that Indians are not welcome. That would be better instead of the cold and humiliating treatment you guys meted out to us.

The place is just wow but the food is average. The prices are quite high. I tried Malai kofta with butter Naan

We were there in udaipur for holiday and were searching for good places..our tour guide at city palace suggested this place so we thought to try it out!! It is situated nearby fatehsagar lake which was quite nearby to where our hotel was..we went and ordered hawaiin chicken salad(hope the name is correct).. we were literally astounded by its taste!! We were not expecting such a salad in udaipur!! We were craving for more but then we thought of ordering something else too..so we opted for some paneer gravy dish along with naan which was totally yummy!! We have come back to Ahmedabad but still our tastebuds are craving for more of that salad!! I m surely visiting this place again whenever we r in udaipur again!!
Saral Ray
Good ambience and service but the food was not that great.<br/>We tried there daal bhatti and malai kofta but none lived up to the expectation.
Sandip Karia
I had dinner with family. I heard great reviews so expectations were higher. Ambiance was average. Food quality was also quite average and not value for money. I don’t recommend anyone to try mainly for veg.
Lina
Very pleasant ambience with good lightning.<br/>Laal Mass gravy was exceptional even the lamb was so soft but the quantity for the price is very less.<br/>Because Cheese Naan & Butter Naan I have to give a whole rating of 3.<br/>Even Peach Ice Tea is very bad.
Abhinandan Mehandiratta
This is an overpriced place. They even charge a lot for water bottle and beyond that for food of not so good quality. <br/><br/>Recently I had a visit here and ordered veg biryani. It was too oily and sticky. Unsatisfied with the quality of food and price of items (Check out the menu). Won’t recommend.
Sanjay Dandekar
The food was just fine. We ordered some Kabab, Soup, Pasta and Chinese items. All were lacking in taste - not worth the money you pay. Also we had noisy neighbours whose kids were running around and making a lot of noise that was just unbearable.
Raghuveer Balabhadrapatruni
The place is slightly hyped with regular items on Menu , service is slightly below par. Ambience is ok , Live light music is welcome activity . Taste of food is no different from regular restaurants
Meet
Pretty overpriced restaurant with below average food and below par service. It was shocking when I realised the place is owned by the same owners of Upre. The ambience is decent but the food and service are the real deal breakers.

Must Have - Lal Maans / Butter Chicken / Malai Tikka / Paneer Lababdar&nbsp;<br/><br/>This is a long due review from February . Food here was great with live music playing in the garden . Amongst the only few restaurant in Udaipur thought-full enough to have a high chair for kids . Food was great and the ambience too . High raised roof bungalow with a garden outside . Variety of beer to choose from and some amazing meat to eat . Overall a great experience .

Ambience: Nice vintage building with display of antiques, showcasing the rich heritage and royalty of the city. Quite and elegant. Live Rajasthani folk songs, played by the local artists, makea the experience of dining more enchanting.<br/><br/>Food: Non Veg is awesome, specially Lal Maas and Jungli Quails curry with steam rice was amazing. In veg you can opt for Rajasthani section, it's quite good.<br/><br/>Recommended for those who like non-veg and want to spent a quite time, accompanied with Rajasthani folk songs..

A decent place with great ambience. Food is great. Lots of options to choose from. They have outside seating area for candle light dinner with live traditional music. An AC seating area is also there. Definitely recommended.

My fifth visit to 1559 AD, but this time I came out very disappointed. Food quality has gone down a lot. Today, I ordered laal maas and gatta curry but both the preparation were pathetic. On my complaint they replaced the laal maas but second time again, it was not good. I told the manager that how come your laal maas has orange colour gravy, looks they are using colour in preparing gravy. My fingers are still orange.

We had gone there for dinner with kids and must say place was just awesome in ambience as well as food. Mr Jogendar helped us with lovely service of food very courteously. We had ordered chicken Tikka, chicken fried rice any grilled chicken breast in meat- all of it were very well blend of spices. In veg, aubergine and paneer Tikka, dal fry were equally good. To top it all- best - kesar phirni( must try) .<br/>Thank u for lovely food and service.

The decor of the place is really nice. The staff is friendly and helpful.<br/>We had Panchratna daal & Junglee maans.<br/>The daal was really good but Junglee maans was not up to the mark.<br/>Junglee maans is a rustic meat preparation made with just 5 basic ingredients (Meat, ghee, salt, chillies & Water). This is supposed to be a spicy, dry meat preparation, but their recipe wasn't anywhere close to the actual recipe. It was a complex mixture of whole spices and was served in a gravy form.<br/>While ordering my food I was given an option of mild spicy, medium and fiery hot. I opted to go for fiery hot but the dish turned out to be mildly spiced. I informed this to the sever who offered to get it spiced up. However it again turned out to be mildly spiced. This was a major turn off as I was looking for fiery hot Rajasthani food.

This place is a vibe in itself . A little bit of Vintage touch and royalty mix well together. <br/>Talking about the food we tried - Lemon Coriander Soup , Chilly garlic noodles , Paneer Lababdar and Cheese naan. Everything served to us was delicious and perfect. Well Being a Vegetarian was not able to try their Non veg but I feel this place serves better Non veg as options for non veg was much more than the veg. Drinks are served too.<br/>Service was also very fast and the waiter were polite.<br/>They have a great parking facility too.

Excellent ambience; average food; untrained but polite staff. Targeted at foreign tourists, desis May find it bit heavy on wallet. Service is reasonably fast
Anutam Rai
The restaurant has two sections; indoor and outdoor. The outdoor section seemed nicer so we sat there. They seemed to be understaffed for the number of tables despite the fact that it wasn’t a busy night. The wine list was very limited (beer and wine only). The food was disappointing, despite the fact that this is one of the more expensive places around. The staff was polite though. Definitely not value for money.
Ice Castle
Service is great but unfortunately the food isn't. And someone needs to say this - aloud. I've had better laal maas almost everywhere else and the ker sangri was interesting but laden with garlic so we really couldn't taste the subtle piccante flavors of the ker or the woody tones of the sangri. A little disappointing considering all the other reviews.

Let's start with the ambience .. Exactly what you look for to make any ocassion a better ocassion .. may it be a casual afternoon lunch or your first date or a family dinner .. it caters everything to your desire ..<br/><br/>Food - yes it turns out to an experience with a minute scope for improvement but that's still manageable .. everything is almost to the right quantities. It's just the time it takes to reach from kitchen to you table that's makes the you a lil impatient ..<br/><br/>Service - yes definitely the staff is courteous, helpful and polite bt yet a lil un-attentive and that's where they lose a star .. you have to wait for long at times for someone to look at you or come forward ..<br/><br/>Value for money - I think this is where everything boils down to .. the perfect blend between portions taste and burn in your pocket.<br/><br/>p.s - on our visit we came across someone (server/attendant) who always carried that weird irony smile on his face while taking orders or when someone was going through menu .. that was a failure to understand whether he carried a smile to keep the guests cheerful or was wickedly laughing from inside looking at the guests who were first timers at such place or who didn't go well with orders or menu .. we always felt the second thought and pitied the fellow diners .. I mean whatever, just don't expect everyone to be the jack of luxury dining bt it's their checks that is getting you your paycheck .. and this can make the restaurant lose another star ..<br/><br/>Anyways for us .. yes it indeed was a good experience (could have been better but no complaints) and we look forward to recommend .. keep it up !!
Phagun
Very nice property. The location is great and also the outside seating. Mostly visited by tourists. The staff is friendly. Didn’t like some of the curries but the starters are just amazing.
Anuj
We had the worst Chinese food ever. It was even worse than the road side street hawkers making Indian Chinese. The soup was cold and after replacement was tasting like boiling water. I guess we made a mistake by trying Chinese food at this place.
Alwyn J George
Had great expectation coming to this place. Exorbitant charges for miniscule portions. Ambience is good but food is extremely over priced and lacklustre. Better to find some other place for a decent dinner.
Shiv Gangwani
A decent place with some authentic flavours. The staff is pretty friendly . I ordered gatta curry and Laal Maas ... both curry were good . The place looks like a mini mahal with a grand entrance . It was slightly hot in the afternoon so sat inside but they have a good open space outside good to sit in the evening. Also tried the pista kulfi , it was ok had better in Delhi.

Food - Check ✅ 4/5<br/>Ambience - Check ✅ 5/5<br/>Service - Check ✅ 5/5<br/>Must visit... Surely try Rajasthani cuisines here. It's delicious. Although other cuisines were also good but Authentic Rajasthani food is a must try. Both indoor and outdoor seating were perfect.<br/>Will surely come down to this place next time I visit Udaipur.<br/>Desserts were very delicious.<br/>Must try this place...

Rating would be 3.5<br/><br/>This was a highly anticipated restaurant as I had heard alot about it. Decent ambience and service was prompt. We had the junglee Maas and the Lal Maas, unfortunately taste was bland. I think alot of these restaurants in Udaipur have made their taste for foreigners who cannot handle the actual taste. For us local tourists we enjoy the original taste and masala. Would request you to make the dishes to the original taste and make it bland only when told.
Jenibhalani11
very peaceful place to dine ... quick at service and the taste offcourse reflected according to the reputation of the place ..... WHEN I VISITED THAT WAS JUST 3days back the music wht was set was the folk cultured flute play very sounding and soothing to ears .... i love interiors more den garden view 😁✌🏻✌🏻

The place is really beautiful ❤️ love the wall art and decor... The ambience was great. Great place to hang out with family and friends and the food is great too 😊

Very beautiful ambience... With garden outdoor sitting.. combined with candle lights and delicious food.. which makes it memorable... Rajasthani food is their speciality..

Tried this restro while I was in Udaipur for vacations. Its located at Fateh Sagar and very near to Hotel Radisson Blu where we were staying. Loved the ambience but food was not at all upto the mark. We had Dal Makhani, Paneer Tikka Masala,Veg Biryani and Assorted breads. They look a lot of time to serve food and the taste was really average and everything was just too spicy.Spent nearly 1600 bucks there. Overall a disappointment. Difficult to recommend.

Went to this place last week during my leisure trip to UDAIPUR. I was deeply touched by the hospitality of the staff. Right from owner to waiter or even watchman. <br/>Amazing place with superb food and lastly I fell short of words to explain their warm behavior. <br/>Must visit place in UDAIPUR.
TheSirGordanRamsay
We were caught in a rain shower, and slightly damp and cold when we got here, and that probably made us feel much warmer towards this place than we would normally have, but that notwithstanding, things here were pleasant enough.<br/><br/>The restaurant is in a large house with a lawn, with some scenic seating options that we passed up because of the rain. Inside feels like a proper old time house, with some modern comforts added. These places are incredibly heavy on maintenance, and they have done a pretty good job on that front.<br/><br/>We were literally the only people there at the early hour we got here, and so service was quite brisk. <br/><br/>Food was reasonable without really being spectacular. This is not the best food we have had in Rajasthan, or perhaps even in Udaipur itself, but it's above the average. <br/><br/>Pricing is par for this city which caters heavily to tourists, mostly ones from abroad. Which is to say its too expensive for what they serve, but again, that's how it works in the tourist towns.<br/><br/>Overall Conclusion: Come for the ambiance and the food won't disappoint.
Ketaki Sankhe
<br/>This place serves some lovely Alfredo pasta which pairs well with white wine. We loved their Pasta so much that we even packed one box to have later at our room . The chilli garlic prawns and Chicken Satay were lovely too .<br/>The place starts filling up after 9 , even on a weekday it was pretty full .<br/>The decor is very simple . This place is a must visit if you are in Udaipur and are craving some pasta .

Right at the edge of fatehsagar Lake. Food was good. Service was decent. Easily approachable for people staying at the Lalit and the Radisson.
Rashmi Purohit
We ordered lachha paratha, papad methi, bundi raita, peanut chat.<br/>Taste was good but papad methi was made in a different way as I have not expected of. But good in taste.<br/>Roasted papad were not roasted properly from outer corners but the green chatni served was awesome.<br/>Sitting arrangement is inside and outside both. Outside is the garden where people can have candle light dinner.<br/>Interior was well maintained and the staff was polite and courteous.<br/>There was a separate cafe inside the restaurant which was a unique thing but we didn't try anything in the cafe.<br/>At last I would say that a must visit place with a good taste and service but but expensive!!!<br/>Ankur Purohit

One of the best places in Udaipur for anyone to pay a visit to. The restaurant has great ambience as it can be seen from the photos.<br/><br/>The food is also very good and the place completely lives up to the hype.<br/><br/>The best thing was a guy playing Bollywood numbers on a flute. It really lit up the evening! Would definitely recommend anyone visiting Udaipur to pay a visit to 1559 AD

Hey guys...!!!<br/>Hope all are doing well....!!!!<br/><br/>We visited this place for dinner on our short visit to Udaipur, and I must tell you were not at all disappointed, its a bistro lounge with a beautiful garden lay out setting once you enter the whole place gives a an other worldly feeling...., you can choose to sit either IN side or OUT in the gardens, when we visited there ver some local Rajasthani artist performing, which was very nice.<br/>The Food is amazing and we really enjoyed our dinner.<br/>The waiters are quiet attentive and will make sure they keep an attentive eye should we require anything.

We went to this place because we were staying at a hotel close to this restaurant. Ambience was lovely and warm but the food was extremely disappointing and ordinary. I found the restaurant to be a bit pricey for the kind of food that it served. <br/><br/>We ordered a pizza and a salad that did not even have salt in it. Pizza was INDIAN Italian and not Italian Italian. I hope you guys get a drift of what I mean. <br/>Overall a disappointment.
Tarun Kohli
Would you go to a restaurant if it only looked good or had a great setting? Dinner at 1559 A.D. was meant to be our last meal in Udaipur and it was disappointing. Point in case, we ordered Caesar salad and Fantasia Pizza. While waiting on our food, we were served papadum (papad) and mint chutney. Though I appreciate the gesture but a bit odd since we had ordered Italian. The salad came with dressing on the side which was more like cream for a sandwich. The pizza crust was hard and undesirable. I hate leaving food on the table. But I’d hate myself attempting to finish if not worth it. Sorry folks, no love and difficult to recommend.

have been there a couple of times this place is cool food is good ya we can say that a little bit over priced but overall it's a fair deal. do try the rajasthani dish ker sangri here ..!!

✔When in Updaipur, do make a visit to this beautiful place! I went there for dinner with my sister and we loved the place. The ambience was antique, royal and so beautiful. The staff service was very good, they all were extremely polite and sweet. I have had the chilli garlic noodles, fantasia pizza with 4 toppings of my choice, achari paneer tikka and cold coffee. I loved the food and service.

Went there for lunch on our visit to udaipur.<br/>It was an okayish place, nothing so great about this place.<br/>Food was tasty no doubts, but the pricing i thought was too much, i mean by looking at the ambience and interior, there was nothing great about it.<br/>One timer place.

This place is super classy and food is awesome. The staff is very friendly and service is excellent. They ensured the experience is memorable. Loved the ambiance, food is class apart. One must try Rajasthani dishes, specially daalbaati. Don't miss it. Perfect place to spend quality time with your loved ones!

One of the places to dine out in udaipur... authentic taste... aroma.. perfect mix of spices...descent service.... not a lake side view... nice location though

These pictures are from my second visit to 1559 AD and I saw tremendous improvement in the same- in terms of ambience largely and also in the quality of food. I was disappointed when the venue for my meetup with friends was chosen but was really surprised after my experience here.<br/>The chilly garlic noodles were strong on the chilly and so really well. The flavours are so appetizing. <br/>The toast was something a little different. It tasted like a saucy sandwich inside out.<br/>

This place has an garden sitting and an inside sitting as well. We took the garden one since it had beautiful things done up outside, plus they had people who were playing instruments there live for the guests which made the Ambeince more beautiful. The food was good.

No options for jain food. Service is very slow. Even regular food is not tasty. Looking to name and rating we were hoping that will have good experience but not.

Visited this place as it was near our hotel.<br/>Ambience- The restaurant was booked so we had to sit in the bar. The seating is not comfortable.<br/>Service- Staff is courteous and service is quick.<br/>Food- We opted for traditional Rajasthani Cuisine.<br/>Manguri- Traditional subzi. It was perfect.(5/5)<br/>Dal-Baati- The baati was not very good but the Panchratan Dal was too good.(4/5)<br/>Phudina Paratha was also very good.(5/5)<br/>The pricing is a bit high but the food and service provided is completely satisfying.<br/>

Need to improve service quality. You have to wait long after order. You must spend 2hr. For dinner slow service people many lake side good restaurants are there in Same location.
Dipti Dahat
Started my Udaipur food journey with this restaurant very near to Fateh Sagar lake. I was bit late for the lunch so all the Indian food orders were closed. Sad :(<br/><br/>But never mind I ate a simple schezwan rice with was too much in quantity for a little tummy like me. So I took parcel and had it for dinner. Rice was stomach filling.<br/><br/>1559 AD has pretty nice inside as well as outside dining area. I preferred outside as the weather was pleasant and it was off time for the restaurant so I was enjoying my lunch in open skies with couple of more customers around.<br/><br/>
Sakshi Babar
It is a house turned into a restaurant which gives the whole place a very charming ambiance. They had an extremely limited menu especially for vegetarians at that time. We ordered Alfredo Pasta and tried the Napolitana pizza which were okay in taste. What they lack in food, they make up in service. The staff is really nice and courteous and let us have a look around the whole place which was really pretty and homey.

food was good but the service was pathetic. I waited for 10 minutes for them to simply clean a table to assign one.<br/>no water was served till the end of the meal<br/>.. tone was quite rude. Billing took 10 minutes.

It's a beautiful restaurant with a colour-themed Bar, Restaurant, and Coffee Shop. Since we weren't very hungry, we ended up ordering a pizza and a couple of beers. They also have classical live music and have an outdoor seating. It's advisable to book a table since it tends to get a little crowded towards the evening.

Great Service and Hospitality! Menu is pretty good and great for foodies from all around the world! They have Risotto, Barbecued Chicken, Tandoori Platter. We loved this place. Reserving the place in advance is prior in Udaipur as these places don’t take reservation on immediate basis.<br/><br/>Ambiance is pretty rustic floral and vintage feel to it with fountains and photo-booth corners<br/><br/>3.5 Star Rating for This Restaurant<br/><br/>Service 4 Star<br/>Hospitality 4 Star<br/>Food 3.5 Star<br/>Place 3.5 Star<br/>Music 3.5 Star

Very nice place. Great ambience with great food and service.<br/>Portions are really satisfying. I didn't like banana fritters rest all were beyond expectations and above average.<br/>

The bare minimum that you expect from an eatery of repute is that when they are taking in guests they are equipped to honour the order in time. <br/>We went in at around 2:45... there was evidently enough staff floating around. First we were told Indian and tandoor were not available. Fair enough. We ordered Thai curry and a Pesto based Pizza.Famished, we ordered some drinks, anticipating that the food would be there soon. We waited for good 1 hour 15 minutes but the food was nowhere in sight. On walking to the waiter who was serving us, we were assured another 5 min..... finally after 1.5 hrs of wait, we decided to cancel on the order, which the restaurant gladly accepted. On asking for the manager, well... you can very well guess.

Yes. It is a fine dining restaurant. The interiors are very sophisticated. Went out for dinner. But it was super busy and the seating I was offered given that I decided to dine at 1559AD at after 10pm, was 👎🏼. Can’t blame them though, went out without a booking. <br/>Waiters were very busy and the overall experience was not very memorable. Food tasted average.

The outdoor seating is pretty but the food is not upto the mark.<br/>Weather italian or appetizers they all taste continental.<br/>The service is fine.<br/>If you plan to visit this place for lunch please confirm the timings till they serve it .<br/>Because they dont serve lunch after a pirticular time

Food - North Indian & Non veg was good , would not have their pizza.<br/>Ambience - Good place to have food, they provide u outdoor as well as indoor seating.<br/>Service - As we went for lunch and the restaurant was nearly empty we had no problem with the service provided.

The place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Food is good not very great- we ordered : tandoori chicken - it was fresh, succulent and perfectly marinated<br/>Laal maans- well cooked but meat pieces could have been better. Was a bit spicy but Laal maans is supposed to be spicy. <br/>Peanut masala- peanuts were not blanched and were a tough nut<br/>Rice, roti and salad - were up to the expectation <br/><br/>Service could have been better staff was rude. Not a kids friendly place. Bit pricey compared to the place.

This place is very good and perfect for dinner with family. That low live music of tabla was very very interesting and arrangements was good but service was not good. But yes you can ignore these little little things if you are there to enjoy. Food was good. Please don't try biryani there. I don't know but I don't like that dish.

A relaxed calm pleasing place for a quite and romantic dinner in candle light and live background Indian music. The food menu had decent variety of Indian and Continental options. On our trip to Udaipur we went there twice (both dinners) and returned with a satisfied stomach and happy soul. Food is tasty but the ambiance is to die for. Very pleasing , relaxing, nice to breath in open air, the chairs and tables are placed at decent distance (so you don't overhear what your neighbour on the next table is talking about)..<br/>Musquito can be an issue since the place is an open garden restaurant, although they do provide with musquito coils. Service is good with a prompt and courteous staff. <br/>It was located very close to, infact walking distance from our hotel (The Lalit Lakshmi Vilas Palace) on Fateh Sagar Lake.

Good continental collection.. We sat out in winters and the experience was amazing with the sun on our backs and the cocktails on our table... Everything we ordered was above average.. We had the chicken breast with pepper sauce, the grilled fish with lemon sauce and spaghetti bolognaise (which wasn't that great).. But the Bloody Mary was one of the best I have had in recent times...

It is a nice cosy place located near Fateh Sagar Lake. It basically appears to be villa converted into a restaurant with a comfortable seating in garden and porch areas. It's a full 5/5 as to Ambience. <br/>As to the food, there is nothing exceptional in the menu. The menu is rather restrictive and the food is just average. We ordered Mezze platter which was just ok. The paneer in the paneer tikka was hard and not upto the mark. <br/>The serving staff was welcoming and was courteous.<br/>In all, if anyone is looking for food then this place is not recommended, but if all one wants is a peaceful glass of wine , then the place is not that bad.<br/>

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, really pathetic food and delayed service offered.<br/>We were 5 of us and ordered aglio olio pasta, chicken club sandwich with hot coffee, masala cheese toast, chocolate shake. After placing the order we waited for good 40-45 mins. Only Aglio olio pasta was just warm and rest of the dishes were served cold. We returned our dishes for being served cold food and then dishes were microwaved and were served again.<br/>Chocolate shake was had no chocolate flavour in it and too was sent back.<br/><br/>So over priced restaurant with this kind of food and service. Really disappointed!!<br/>

All food served was cold. Ordered chicken club sandwich which was pethatic. Hot coffee served was cold. Over all experience was not good after paying so much. Better options at cheaper price which excellent food.

One of my favourite restaurant in Udaipur for dinner is this. Restaurant is very near to fateh-sagar lake and very silent place. Food service and quality is extraordinary.

Went to 1559 AD for lunch with family while out on vacation, weren’t really sure of what kind of food to take so had Chinese. The service is great , people friendly, the food is average at best , it was a lot of salt and spices but not much taste. The sweet dishes were equally average, the ambience and service is really nice though
Prateek Bobra
Great place. This place offers dine in and outside option. Not much crowded place during weekdays as i went on one. Food options are limited for vegetarians. They do have bar nd bakery with good options available.
Madhurima Kahali
Quaint little beauty! I think I loved the ambience better than the food. We really didnt order a lot- chicken tikka pizza, french fries for the toddler and some wine. The pizza was loaded. Fries were good. Wine was an Italian red wine- which was great.

I went to this place for dinner at night, the place doesn't seem as beautiful as it seems in picture in daytime.. the place was very dull & boring and expensive.<br/>I didn't find it worth the money i spent there.<br/>Food was ok ok.<br/>Nicely served.<br/>
Upasana Bhurani
Lal mas good but the mezze platter was horrible. It didn’t even have the correct pita bread. Staff is courteous and ambience is nice. Service is ok

1559 is a chilled and relaxed haven, away from he hustle and bustle of Udaipur’s traffic and tourist scene. <br/><br/>Set in a bungalow, with a pretty green garden 1559 has polite and well presented staff who help with every aspect of the dining experience. <br/><br/>The food is multi cuisine with an Indian twist, everything flavourful and tasty. The chilly chicken, kebabs, tofu and mushroom dishes are all brilliant. There is a huge selection of beers and well made classic cocktails. Definitely worth a visit for locals and visitors.

Had a amazing dinner date here. Lovely ambience and peaceful environment. The people are really humble and soft spoken. Everyone treated us nicely. The food is super awesome. The presentation and the taste was beyond expectations. I totally recommend a visit to the place. I m going there again :)

If there was a rating below this, i would not mind giving that to this over hyped restaurant. The food was bland and tasteless. The workers were super lost in their own dreams. The property is good, but that won't make sense if the food is not up to the mark. At the end i am not going there to savour just the ambience of a place, my taste buds also needs to be well satisfied. <br/>The quantity of the food sucked for the price they had listed. And what can i say about the quality, the noodles were dipped in oil. It seemed i am eating some greasy noodles. Dominos or Pizza hut Pizza would be way better than the pizza served here, and at half the price. And not to miss out on there Ice tea, it was sugar syrup not ice tea.
