Review Exotic - The Haveli Restaurant - Udaipur

Niv Shetye
Virasaat Haveli, nestled in the heart of Chandpole in Udaipur, stands out as a truly unique dining establishment in the city. With a diverse array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian offerings, the restaurant caters to a wide range of culinary preferences. Among the various dishes we sampled, the Lal Maas accompanied by Makai Roti stole the spotlight. The succulent pieces of meat bathed in a flavorful gravy created an exquisite symphony of taste that left us thoroughly delighted. On the vegetarian front, the Paneer Bhurji, while decent, didn't quite reach the same heights as some of the other offerings. Moving on to the rice dishes, the Chicken Biryani, though aromatic and rich in flavor, fell slightly short of the expectations that come with being a Mumbaikar accustomed to the city's famed biryanis. Similarly, the Chicken Fried Rice left us with an impression of adequacy but didn't quite stand out. In terms of its popularity, Virasaat Haveli seems to have garnered a substantial following among foreign visitors, which speaks volumes about its appeal on an international scale. However, it's worth noting that this dining experience may not be the most budget-friendly option. For those inclined towards a chilled beer, the cost amounts to ₹300. In summary, a visit to Virasaat Haveli is recommended for those seeking a unique and memorable dining experience in Udaipur. While some dishes may outshine others, the restaurant's distinct offerings and international appeal make it a noteworthy destination for both locals and travelers alike.

I alongwith my family went there and the ambience and warmth received on our entrance was so gentle and filled with positive aura. Speaking of the taste, we tried tandoori chicken, hara bhara kebabs, bhujma chicken and crispy corn. Our taste buds were left stunned. Both the veg and non veg starters were too yummy and most important thing, that they tatsed as if just brought from mothers kitchen. Homecooked happy food. Then we also tried their famous lal maas. And we bet that this was the far bestest dish i have had in whole udaipur. again home cooked recipe felt so positive ambience eating their so utterly delocious dishes. Usually people tend to focus on either veg or non veg, but these guys have done excellent efforts and jobs to bring out justice to both cuisines effectively. Lastly, the service from the staff , their gentleness kindness is unmatchable. Would definitely go again!! Just one more thing.. the makki ka papad served was too yum, as if made fresh just out of the kitchen. Loved each and evry detail. That showed the love and respect towards maintaining the positivity!!

It's a nice place to have some good veg and non veg food. Thali was really good and tasty and the interior was well maintained.

An absolute must go in Udaipur. Felt right at home here. The staff was super caring and the owner was very polite and informative such as where he gets his ingredients and meat (daily from local markets) The Tandoori chicken was simply perfect, nice char on the outside, juicy on the inside smeared with the marinate of spices that make the chicken unique in taste, topped with some onions and lime. Simply amazing.

This resturant has amazing foods . Guddu here served us very well, he manages this place . Please go for Rajasthani traditional food and also try for non veg items if you are a non vegeterian.

The restaurant had good, affordable food, and the staff was friendly and complied with all our wishes. The traditional Rajasthani non-veg and veg food was equally tasty. The restaurants's interiors really captured our interest, as it was extremely fashionable yet comfortable, which was beyond our expectations.

We had laal maans and chicken bunna, both were very delicious. The host and owner Mr. Rajeev is really passionate about what he does and also introduced us to the local spiced liquor "Kesar Kasturi" which was a great discovery. Definitely worth the visit, loved the taste and freshness of the food. The hotel is slightly inside in a little cozy corner but if you go after the markt closes, the traffic won't be bad.

Food - 5/5 Ambience - 4/5 Location - 5/5 Located real close to the City Palace, yet nestled in the bylanes, Viraasat is strongly recommended for its food. We had a sumptuous lunch with me opting for their Daal Bati Churma (Special Bati) and my wife going for Chinese food. We both loved everything that came to our plates and wiped it clean. The serving size, taste, service, and ambience altogether make it one of the better places to savour a meal!
