Review Peshawri - Vadodara

Sanjiv Kasar
No doubt about the service and food quality. Only the interior is the part which is not appealing. Seating is not comfortable. I expected old classic style seating and ambiance. This is different. Many new medium size restaurants have attractive interiors compared to this one.

It's a rustic restaurant with leaning towards Afghani cuisine. You can relish the cottage cheese and famous Dal Bukhara! The ambience is calm, staff is courteous and would accommodate your requests making it worth to visit and enjoy delicacies!

Due to covid, peshwari restaurant was shut but they served Peshawari menu in Cambay ( multi cuisine). While we did miss the Peshawari experience, the food still stood tall! The non-veg platter is the star performer as always! Chicken khurchan with wheat parotha filled our bellies well leaving no room for anything else ! Spaghetti aglio olio was good veg option. The dal Bukhara turned out to be a disappointment when compared to what you get in ITC,Mumbai. Ambience- Decent Food - GOOD! Very Rich! Service- Good, they dint have a hard stop at 2:45pm for taking orders! Hygiene- Excellent! Plates/cutlery wrapped paper bag, staff doesn’t serve food.

One of the best restaurants in WelcomHotel, Vadodara. They have variety of Indian cuisines for Breakfast. Ambience is excellent compared to other 'plain jane' restaurants. Enough parking space available. Excellent service given by the restaurant Manager and staff members. A must visit when you are in Vadodara.

You won’t be able to complain about the taste of food , but you may doubt on varieties and the price of the food.

Amazing food and cool atmosphere. Get the sampler plate of everything... you won't be disappointed.

Mouth watering food and impeccable service. Dal Bukhara is a must try dish. The chicken (Murgh Malai) is succulent and cooked to perfection. Naan and Roomali Roti are very nice as well. Overall, a very good dinner experience at Peshawri. I visited the restaurant almost 7-8 years since the last time and the food taste is still the same. If you are after nice chicken dishes (and daal) coupled with good customer service in Vadodara, Peshawri is the place to go.

Very tasty food , good service & polite staff 👍

Awesome Afghani-Mughlai restaurant. Very very good food...especially for Non Vegetarians. I loved it. It is expensive but equally classy and good.

Our family’s fav restaurant.. all major occasions are celebrated here.. Consistent food taste and quality.. Though not a place for you if you prefer very spicy food.. very friendly cozy ambience and friendly staff.. make a reservation during weekends and festivals esp.. for dinner… Dal Bukhara is highly recommended...

Great food with Authentic Taste. Ambience is good and the service fab.. Perfect place for office dinners. Must try is Sikandari Raan for Non veg aficionados. Vegetarian food is equally delicious if not more.. Dal Bukhara is a must try for vegetarians..

The ambience always impresses me

Francis and Biswajeet, the persons attending us were very nice and helpful.

We had dal Bukhara and roti. This is my regular staple in peshawari.

Overall the experience wasn't that good, they did not have enough staff to service the food ,I guess Only three employees in the restaurant was in the serving staff. Had to wait a lot to order even something such a glass of water .Also they put us in an isolated seating area due to which it was difficult to spot any waiter. It was my parents anniversary which turned out to be a bad experience at peshawari. The peshawari naan was so uncooked and thick that it was really hard to swallow. Please try to maintain the standards that you are known for.
Thankyou

Had visited this place for my birthday with my family. Regret going there so much! Pathetic service, rude waiter. The menu is extremely limited.. no taste in the food, totally bland! Ambience is too too claustrophobic.. very dark and no comfort in seating.. they had stools to sit on one side of the table since the place was too tiny.. extremely overpriced! Well in a 5 star hotel you don’t expect value for money but then you also expect other things.. like the ambience, taste, service and the overall experience.. and this place lacks in all of the above.. Don’t recommend this place at all! My birthday dinner could have been so much better!

You can never go wrong with this place. The best place for good dinner in baroda. A big shout out to Dalvir who always has a smile on his face and would suggest the best picks from menu.

After reading the amazing reviews about this restaurant, i decided to take my 2 indianand 3 Chinese friends to this place..
To start with the ambience.. i m sure My chinese friends mite have liked the ethnic ambience.. but as an Indian i culd say it was Good but very ordinary for a 5 Star Hotel..

I was amazed looking at their limited Menu items
Hardly 5 veg and Non veg starter (each) , 2-3 Veg and Non veg Curries, 1 raita, 6 types of Indian Breads and 4 Desserts.. thts it the menu is completed...

So looking at the name of the Restaurant “Peshawri” if you are looking for Soup, Rice like Pulav or biryani then forget about it..
but of u r ready to adjust in limited Gravy items and some naans than this place is apt..
We ordered 3 nonveg starters for my Chinese friends and 2 Veg starters for for we 3 veggie heads
Couple of Non alcoholic drinks few naans and Dal Bukhara.. and dessert..

Aftr reading the reviews about Dal Bukhara i was eager to try it.. aftr looking at the menu i realised tht, thts the only Dal they have in the menu haha... sorry guys but need to say the dal was good but lacked salt.. not so amazing as compared to Mumbai ITC food..

My heart skipped a beat aftr looks at the Invoice.. for the above mentioned menu the bill was approx 16K... EXORBITANT PRICES....
More expensive than the 5 star hotels in Mumbai but an average Food flavours...

I would like to give 2.5/ 5 but had to select 3/5

Wont recommend for this expensive hotels, if you guys hage extra money to spend you can send it to me 😜😜 but dnt waste here..

Wonderful food, though it is a bit steep. The rann and paneer dishes are fantastic. Had the pomfret fry, chicken kebabs, pudina paratha, daal Bukhara and chicken makhani.....the food is finger licking good and delicious. The desserts...gulab jamun and rasmalai were fantastic as was the buttermilk. Definitely recommended

Food was really good, though a bit expensive.... Especially Dal Bukhara was awesome....
Chicken Tandoori was also good...

But Ambiance was really not upto the mark.

Eating at Peshawari has always been a pleasure, the discreet service, the super hot fresh food and the endless kindness! Dining with friends or family, it’s always a pleasure to be served by Mr. Dalvir

Little bit costly but my experience was awesome 100% wheelchair accessible yummy food we ordered veg non veg both and all dishes was awesome lovely taste

Dal Bukhara is to die for. Kebabs are great, chicken is always well prepared and cooked. Having been so many times, would love to see some new dishes added to the menu.
Mukul Dhingra
Good food . . . .as usual.
as usual being the operative word here.
It is the best place for your fix of the "dal Bukhara" in a sleepy city.
It is a place you go to get reminded of the fine flavour that the Mughal legacy of the makkhan overload in the grub.
The grub is good so it offers excuse for perhaps some slip in service.

Words cannot describe Peshawri!! Eating here is an experience..

The daal - outstanding.. best daal makhni in the world..
The tandoori aloo - kickass! Did not know aloo could get so so so flavourful!
Murgh Malai Kebab- Succulent and lip smacking. Tender and balance marinade are its characteristics.
The family naan - it’s just perfectly cooked - I don’t know how they manage to perfectly cook a naan that size..
and the raita - as creamy as raita can get..

Peshawri is love!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Nothing striking about this place though it is in prime location. The food is average and taste is quite bland and suited for most of us. The deserts were a disaster and all in all not a recommendable place.

Peshawri is the restaurant of Welcome group ITC and this is a substitute of famous Bukhara restaurant of ITC Maurya, Delhi. So the menu is almost same as Bukhara with price slightly lower than it. I have no complain for pricing as it is expected.
Come to menu, the options are limited, with no rice preparation. Now this has shocked me as rice is part of South Asian meal and restaurant serves North West dishes of South Asia then why no rice, specially when they serve delicious Dal Bukhara.

Come to food, it was good. Masala weren't overpowering which is how it should be, so may be not for spicy food lovers, though it should be visited once. Daal Bukhara and Bukhara Naan were my favorite. If you come here, order these two.

Ambience is nice, nothing over the top. Still has the feeling of North West part of South Asia. Dinnerware has striking resemblance to Bukhara, Delhi.
Staff is courteous which is expected.
So thank you for a lovely meal on my first visit. And this place should be good for foreigners.
Excellent restaurant. The food was terrific , esp. the lamb dishes. Great ambience -- I enjoyed watching the cooks at work. Service was attentive and friendly. Portions were large, so one leg of lamb will take care of 2 with some veg dishes.
Vishal Singh
Worst experience i hav ever had, boring music, poor, old and bad sitting arrangement, boring ambience, bad service and the most imp the taste of food...we hav asked for their best dish and it was worst, if u dont want to waste ur money nd time den dont go this place it was a worst experience... not expected from welcome hotel

Absolutely nothing can go wrong with this place - perfect place for a fine dining experience and authentic Indian food. Their food is simply extraordinary and it has had a limited menu for years together, making the choice easier while deciding what to eat!
Our absolute favourites for years have been daal Bukhara and Bukhara naan. Never had any complaints. Oh well, this place just doesn't need a review. Peshawari continues to set high standards.

Went to Peshawari last month at my friend's birthday. Service a bit slow this time , it's my regular restaurant for special occasions. The food was fabulous as always . Keep it up

I have visited the flag ship in Mumbai, Bhukara in Delhi and now the one in Baroda. It’s a vintage fee with top notch service from Francis and Chander Mohan. They served me the most wanted buttermilk k as I was here in the peak summer. I had a few special requests and they were met with no fuss. The food needs no introduction. Succulent flavourful mouthwatering morsels of mutton barrah kebab with the signature dal bhukara was out of the world. The rotis bakes to perfection and true value for money.
Anyone visiting Baroda should pay a visit and try and stay here.

Great food, we had an amazing experience, it is an excellent place to go with your family and the food is perfectly priced, much better than other 5 star hotels.

Food was very tasty hospitality was very nice, food was served on hot plate, chicken was very tender, soft music was been played over all experience was good

I had been to this restaurant on 28th January with my family... the food and ambience was very good... the only drawback is that they should suggest in advance that their portion sizes is big... we had to pack many stuff.... also rice is not a part of their menu... biryani would have been a great addition to the menu.... overall a good place to go for dinner!!!

A lot of planning happened before I finally visited this place. There was a literal confusion as to which restaurant to try when in Welcome. However me and. My friend zeroed it out on Peshawari. As the name suggests, the initial perception was of the fact that it would only serve Non Veg. However what made me happy was the fact that it had some delights for the people with Green Dots. So basically I went here for a Sunday lunch and I was in a sense really happy to see the interiors which were nicely done. Nothing, I repeat nothing was overdone. It was just the kind of an ambience you would look for, when you are in such a place. Good soothing colors, nicely done furniture, perfect. Coming to the menu, well here is where I was a touch disappointed. Not that I wasn't aware of the menu limitations but because it really had very little to offer in terms of variety. Being a vegetarian Paneer was the only saviour to me and I had no option but to order a Paneer Tikka( dry) and Paneer Makkhni which they graciously accepted to specially prepare for me considering the fact that I was perhaps the only vegetarian species there that day. The Paneer Tikka was nicely done and the Paneer was of some real good quality. The Makkhni again, no doubt was a treat. The portions were decent and the service was top notch. The costing was decent in terms of the quality of service and the special attention that you would get there. Some work on the menu needs to be done though. (my opinion)

Visit to Vadodara is never complete without a trip to Peshawari. The Raan and Dal...both great dishes well done. Wished I could have tasted the chicken Kurchan too but I had Stuffed myself once again at Peshawari and no more room.

Dr. Disha Bhatt
Venue itself suggests the ambience which is well fulfilled to expectations. The food was pretty delicious, limited choices though but finger licking good. Specially sal bukhara is a uniqueness itself.loved it!
Naveen Bhat
Food is ok but portions are large and one needs to order carefully.....the staff must tell customers while ordering so that they don't end up over-doing it.....but this aspect is missing.....very limited options on the menu is another sore point.......pay a visit when you feel like splurging.....
Delhifoodcrush
Excellent taste and ambience .Serving is also unique and you ll feel as you are in peshawar.hotel is located at walking distance to the city, numerous shops, restaurants, the central market...you name it.... The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms and the entire hotel were clean,...
Nice ambiance. Very courteous and good staff & service.
Once the order is placed they serve you papad, chutney & onion. Think its the best pudina chutney which I have had in a long time.
We had ordered chicken kurchan , dal bukara & egg butter naan
Chicken kurchan was nice. Mildly spiced and boneless
Dal bukara is a signature dish at this restro. It was quite similar to dal makhani minus rajma & loaded with butter & ghee. It was good but nothing extra ordinary
Egg butter naan- was super yummy. It didn't smell eggy at all & was so soft that it would melt in your mouth
We were stuffed & didn't have place for dessert else would tried the kulfi.

One negative that the restaurant has a very selected non veg dishes in the menu for main course.

PS- don't forget to pick metha pan which is at the exit when you leave the restaurant. Its tastes amazing.
The food here is really good. But the seating is lousy. I always end up with a back ache when I eat here. The kebebs are great, the quantity of food generous. But after all these years the only thing they have changed on the menu are the prices. I think it's high time they changed the menu and the seating.
Ruturaj Puranik
Great place
Great service great ambience
Tandoori chicken was out of the world ...
Smoked chicken well marinated with a crisp golden Color instead of the red artificial Color offered by other restaurants
Tandoori paneer was normal
Gravies were not so satisfying for the value we paid as they were bland and contained some overpowering spices
But the manager was sensitive and generous enough to change the food immediately for his recommendations

Apart from tandoori chicken I felt the value for money is a lil less

I visited this place sometime back in general happiness. The service is first class. But the menu. How disappointing! Being a hard-core non vegetarian..I had to order something which I was not willing to try in the first place because I wasnt left with much choice. the non veg preparations are very limited. So its a typical over priced 5 star restaurant which scores on service and hospitality and not much on food.
Mudra Patel
One of the top place in the city. Interior is decent. Highly recommend for mughlai food. Very good place for northern cuisine. I also like aloo ki sabji there and it was very simple with less spices yet testy. Naan was very good as well. And at last in desert I had rad malai which was perfectly balanced and super yummy 😋.
Surabhi Sharda
Top place of the city, where you actually feel the standard. Being the most costliest hotel of city, this place is quiet successful in dragging crowd here, as said "name hi kafi hai - ITC". We just wanna visit once, so we plan a short visit. The restaurant is downstairs and the way to it is full of admirable things. The restaurant area have dusty interior, they tried to reflect the oldage culture. The staff was friendly. The menu card was on wooden plank, but all you excitement goes in vein when you see just few items written on it. So after thinking lot we ordered just a sabzi and roti only. No doubt the taste was perfect but still dil mange more.
Ram Mehta
Situated in the one of the finest hotels of Vadodara, it has a wonderful ambience and is quite well known for the Mughlai cuisine. They provide the menu in quite a unique fashion.. ( a wooden plank). A brutal truth - there's not much content in the menu. The staff seems to be rude sometimes.. and they screwed it up and lost us as their future customers when they actually demanded more tip then what was provided. It costs a lot.. it falls heavily on one's pocket and totally not worth the price.. there are better options in the town which can be a fair replacement to this restaurant. The food was good and quantity is really good, tasty but not something to look forward to for the next time.
Dr. Shakunt
Peshawari !!! Mmmmmmm one of my greatest experiences of north Indian cuisine!!! The Tandoori aloo were soo delicious having outer jacketed potato and inner masala mix is worth to try !!! Besides the gravy (Paneer makhani ) was the one i had never before in a tangy tomato gravy !!! It was my first visit and the naan I ordered thinking i will be able to finish but surprisingly it ws like that of lachha paratha it ws layered as shown in the pic but everything was a worth to try 👌🏻 !!!
Kaushal
Highly recommended for Mughlai cuisine in a fine dining setting. The daal makhani was delicious and the curries use authentic spice blends which enhance the taste to another level. The service staff is well trained and pays great attention to detail.
Aritra Chakravarti
This restaurant is awesome. The nan, the chicken dishes, the mutton dish were all awesome. The standout however was the bukhari nan which was awesome. The daal makhani too.
Mohit Mittal
If you are looking for excellent North Indian food in Vadodara this is the place to be. The food menu is although very limited. One is advised to visit this place in group of at least 4 people so that you can order Naan Bukhara. Naan Bukhara is a mammoth size that can feed 5 people at once. We ordered Daal Bukhara and Paneer Khurchan. Daal Bukhara was quite good but Paneer Khurchan was average. Water is served in copper glasses and there are no cutlery. One has to eat everything with hands only.
Rupesh
Nice royal place. Taste and services are too good. Quality and hygienic value are good. Customers satisfaction is main focus. Authentic taste.
Vijayesh Sa
Food- 5
Ambience- 4.5
Cost- 3
Although the prices are exorbitant but the food tastes yummy. One would definitely forget about it once having authentic Peshawari cuisine. While when we dined there music was not there which was the only turn off. Otherwise it is a lovely restaurant!!
Kushal
Located at the center of Vadodara. The Restaurant has a very vintage look. Select variety of moghulai food. Dal bhukhara is the best. Polite, well dressed, neatly groomed staff.
Vishal Raghani
Too less options to choose food. Have had better food than this place at way cheaper rates. Though if you are fond of good ambience then it's best in town.
Rahul Sonthalia
Great ambience... Drooling starters.... Amazing personalised service for a hotel... Must have tandoori starters.. Take reservation recommended on any day
Harsh Desai
If you like authentic Peshawari cuisine then this is the place to be.... I ordered raan tandoori which is a tandoori leg of a lamb! It was quite big even for me n my dad (we can devour a ton of food in one sitting :p) and tasted like happiness 😂.. I also ordered jumbo tandoori tiger prawns and they were heavenly.. Obviously this place is pricey but for good reason.. The dishes they serve here cannot be found anywhere else in Vadodara.. No other place comes close to the quality that this place maintains.. You must try this place if you are a real foodie!
Anil
Amazing place Excellent food must try there mocktails and we order kotri partotha huge parotha it self was to tasty to munch on. Over all luxurious place for dinner.
Nivedita Basu Dey
whatever i write in praise of peshawari's food will always be less. the balance in the spices is simply great and food gives a high to the taste buds for sure. the service is great and the ambience just adds to the dining experience.
JJ
Excellent food. Similar to the one in delhi and mumbai. Great ambience. Warm staff. All in all a good place to get foreign guests. Only sad thing no alcohol.
Shree Patel
great quality food, good taste everytime we visited this place. staff is really good. service is great. as concern to food quality, i appreciate it.reserve a table well in advance. love cozy ambiance.

All restaurants in the ITC's north west frontier chain in different ITC hotels are wonderful. Eating at any of these is a treat to any foodie. I found Peshawari at Welcome Hotel Vadodara reasonably good, however it can not be compared with Bukhara in Delhi and Peshawari in Mumbai. Basic flavour is same but I found some bitterness in the grilled Pomfret which I never experienced in Mumbai may be because of the raw material. Otherwise worth visiting.@
Aamir Vahora
Good place good food
Great ambiance

Nemi Patel
Starting with the ambience its great but the seating arrangements are not quite comfortable. Service is too slow you always have to search for the waiter even for refilling the glass of water. Food is average neither that great nor that bad. There many other places better than this.
Karthik Rao
Good restaurant with a great ambience, very nice and tasty food is being provided at the restaurant with the blend of nice atmosphere it feels good to go and have food. Have gone 4-5 Times with family, even they enjoy the food of the restaurant too
Vikas Seth
A traditional Indian restaurant that bridges the gap between two nations.

If ITC opened Peshawari in “The No Man’s land" between India and Pakistan the WAR would have long been over.

This is how mesmerizing the flavors of food served at Pashawari are.

I have always been to this restaurant with my family and friends and I feel this is how it should be.

It’s always best to take the table which has one side sofa or lumber support sitting arrangement which is comfortable for women and seniors of the family.

The preparations are limited only to the specialty of the restaurant hence while choosing what to order it’s always good to get everyone involved.

I always feel that Pashaeari’s food taste’s better when served volcano hot, tender & together.

I have always found Murgh Malai Kabab , Bharrah Kabab and Sikandari Rann to be Peshawari signature dishes. I have never been able to see any other establishment make these 3 master pieces as graciously as Pashwari.

Bharrah kabab and Sikandari Rann if ordered on different occasions will help you appreciate their flavor in a true way.

Yes Dal Bukhara is a preparation which has been made with flavors from its original recipe. Cooked to perfection its can take you back in time when food was cooked in traditional clay pots.

I may be wrong but I Honestly feel that you can only appreciate this preparation even more if you understand India flavors.

Who knew paneer can be presented in such a tempting way. Paneer khurchan is an all time favorite from the vegetarian section.

My wife and son have always enjoyed the above mentioned preparations with Pudina Parantha served crisp. I am sure your better half will definitely concur to this selection.

Men should try and enjoy Kadak Tandoori Roti. After reading the price on the menu we would not want any left over’s now would we!

It’s worth a try atleast once .The Kulf! I know we can get something similar anyware else. But it will be never the same as Peshawari. Its flavor can and taste is very similar to the once served in Punjab.

When you walk into this restaurant you can see that the interiors & the dress of the staff have been designed as per the nature of the food that it serves .

While ordering it’s always good to express your expectations on how you would want your food to be. It always helps the chief to meet your requirements.

And Yes. It’s always a good decision to reserve your complementary Pan served in the end in advance our else you will have to settle for Mintos.
Hamza Saiyed
the best place in town to enjoy muglai food. spicy chicken steamy rice. I just love it.
Akshay Krishna
Whatte place! Never been to Pakistan but sure does feel like it. Great ambience, great service.
Now there is hardly any choice when it comes to this place. It's limited to one starter, the awesome mutton dish I forget the name of..., the Dal that is cooked for 24 hours, roti... But the quality I swear has been maintained all the number of times I've been to that place! This place doesn't even give us forks and knives to have food. We have to get down and dirty which is definitely the best part!!
Manish Chawla
Awesome Dal Bukhara... but rest all dishes were below average. I have no complain though cause they are known for their Dal Bukhara & Sikandari Raan and these two things are perfectly the best.
Subir Goradia
I have probably eaten more than 50 times at this restaurant because I don't think there are many decent non-veg restaurants in my town. The raan which is served dry at tines was this time good-moist and flavoursome. The prawns needed more flavour and better consistency. The Daal Bukhara is the most consistent dish served at this restaurant like most Peshawri all over the country. I didn't try the other vegetarian dishes but there weren't any complains and everyone was moreover satisfied. The potions here are good. The servers ensured that the naans are hot and served with all the food together. The gulab jamun were hot and delicious - not too sweet which everyone appreciated. The malai kulfi gives me an upset stomach but few had and enjoyed the same.
Pious Singh
I am a Delhite. Peshawari reminds of authentic mughlai which we have here at Karim's or Nizam's but with better ambience and of course, over priced menu. The staff is very polite and helpful.
I had chicken malai tikka, mutton seekh kebab and murgha makhani as main course.
1. Chicken Malai Tikka- Mouth melting, tender, juicy tikka. No complain. Wonderful presentation with pudina chutney along with it.
2. Mutton Seekh Kebab- Good. Juicy. But we have better Kebabs in Delhi. :-P
3. Murgha Makhani- It was best till date in Vadodara. I have been to many restaurant so far, but it was way better than rest.
To sum up, Peshwari will make you feel as you are in Afghanistan or some Mughal era. The ambience adds to the feeling with copper cutlery and menu written on wooden plank. Last but not the least is the Meetha Paan. Don't forget to pick your Paan before you leave.
A piece of advice for restaurant management: Please add some more dishes to your menu.
Pranjal Patel
We all have a 'bucket list' of restaurants that we always want to try out, don't we? We somehow manage to check out most of them, but there's always this one place that doesn't seem to budge. It stays there for all kinds of excuses and every time you cross the place on your way or you've had a fine meal somewhere else, it pains your heart. Especially because you've heard a lot about them and have always wondered what their food is really like.

After years of speculation, I recently visited Peshawri with a friend who's as crazy about food as me. He's been there quite a couple of times himself and has always chanted about how good the place is. So one evening, I decided, it's high time I should check it out and get it off the bucket.

Housed in one of Baroda's most elite hotels, Peshawri offers genuine Mughlai food and ethnic North-Indian cuisine. It's a blend of sophistication for the classy and originality for the curious. A few steps down the hotel lobby, the ambience is purposely tailored to suit the theme. Trestle wooden tables and stools add complexion along with the copper utensils and urns, which decorate the walls and pillars. Chains instead of boring curtains is a good aid. A see-through glass-walled kitchen, right there in the centre, with huge tandoors, flamboyant cooking stations and busy chefs makes you impatient just as you walk in.

As you are seated, you are a offered an impressive, albeit heavy, plank of wood with the menu printed on both its sides. You are then handed over an apron to put on before the meal is served, that too on earthenware crockery, all choreographed to amplify the dining experience.

They only serve a select few dishes in the restaurant, which I thought showed how confident the restaurant is about their quality and how proud it is about its cooking. But we always like it when we have more options.

For the vegetarian to kick off they have Hara Sheek Kabab, Paneer Sheek, Paneer Tikka and Kebab, which can be the first course or it can be coupled with the mains like Tandoori Shimla Mirch, Tandoori Aloo Masala, Paneer Khurchan and Paneer Makhani to follow. Dal Bukhara, I've heard, is very popular amongst the lentil lovers.

Tandoori Pomfret, Tandoori Prawns, Murgh Malai Kebab, Kastoori Kebab, Murgh Reshmi Kebab and a whole leg of lamb, for the ambitious carnivores is the perfect big bang to begin with, followed by Murgh Kurchan and Murgh Makhani among the mains. Well actually, it doesn't really matter, as you can ask for any dish, any time and make any course with it. To get completely settled in, order up some Garlic Naan, Paratha or Tandoori Roti with it. Or you can directly go for some Cheese Naan, which i honestly felt could do with a little more cheese in it.

For deserts you can chose from some classic favourites like Gulaab Jamoon, Kulfi Falooda, Phirni or Kesar Rasmalai. If you really have the sweet tooth, you can order up everything. It's up to you.

We ordered a Murgh Malai Kebab, which we really loved. It was soft, tender and well spiced. It just needed a tad longer in the tandoor, i felt. Murgh Makhani was our next course, Butter Chicken being our favourite. However, it didn't live up to my expectations. I found it to be too tomato-y. An honest suggestion is to not over-order as the size of the portions is quite large and otherwise would be wasted.

Overall I'd like to say that Peshawri is for those who want to show off to someone, one of city's better dining options, however an improved exhaustive menu wouldn't hurt anyone. There's a lot of good word around about the restaurant and it sure deserves it, but besides being rather high on the wallet, diners do get the feeling that it is slightly over-rated. Despite that, I'd love to try out their other delicacies next time, in hope for having my mind changed.
