Review Skydeck Rooftop - Vadodara

Majestic palace and one of the most beautiful ones indeed! It is very well maintained and you need to buy a ticket if you want a tour of the palace from the inside. Audio tour is also available. Photography is prohibited inside the palace. You can click from the outside. It's a must visit place if you are in Baroda because it tells us about the rich heritage here!

Historic place. Since its private property and a private residency of the royal family, most parts of the palace, esp, only ground floors open for public and rest, are out of bounds. They have made good audio track to listen to while we roam in the palace. Interesting and helpful. They must try to keep it more preserved thout it must be very costly for them. Anyways a very nice place and must visit.

Grand tour! Definitely a must visit if you're in vadodara. It'll take 1.5 hours to visit the whole palace area. Museum separately. The self-paced audio guide is the best thing to learn about the enriched past.

This is a very beautiful and luxurious palace. The looks are amazing and the inside is so beautiful. The audio set helps navigation easily. Must visit in Vadodara. Since pictures are not allowed I will be posting pictures of the outside area only.

A very grand property built on a huge estate. Impressive architecture, modern facilities, meticulously planned and very well maintained. The Tour is planned to show certain parts only of the palace as the owners still stay here. Audio guides included in ticket price and is very informative. The armoury section and the main Darbar hall are most impressive. No photography allowed inside the palace. Ample free parking available. A nice cafe on site sells delicious food items at very reasonable prices.

If you are already in the city, I would recommend to not miss this. The palace is well maintained (maybe because it is still official residency of family). I only opted for palace visit due to time constraint and missed out on museum so this review is only for palace. Ticked prize is high compared to how much is accessible. Indian citizen (adults) - Rs 250 /- If you came to the city just to visit palace then you might get a bit disappointed since majority is off limits and so it would be a short visit. Once you enter you are provided with an audio device as guide, available is 3 languages: Hindi, English, Gujarati. You are able to pause, move forward or backward on this device. This is really good as now you can move at your own pace, it also adds to the experience since it gives the narration more options in terms of music and anecdotes especially the Durbar grah. All the intricate designs on pillars and all the objects you could see are very beautiful and with audio guide you can better understand and appreciate them. This is the first historic place i have visited which provided audio guide, I would hope other places are able to adopt this way of touring. Majority of the palace is off limits. You can only visit ground floor within the palace. Outside the palace, you can visit only ground directly around the palace. I was very disappointed about this as google did show nature trails which I was looking forward to. Ground itself had some stuff left over from or being prepared for a function (stages, pillars etc) which was annoying as it meant we could not get a good view from distance to capture whole palace in one screen. Photography is not allowed within the palace and even for outside I was stopped for some place which looked like maybe leads to stable for horses or some trail since it had a wooden fence. I was able to complete the visit within 2 hours including getting tickets and few (not many) photos outside the palace.

This is a must visit if you are in Vadodara ! Just by looking at it feels very fantastic. The built and the colour is so much enriching . The self paced audio will surely tell you the whole engaging history about the whole palace . Photos are not allowed inside the palace and only ground floor is allowed for tourists to watch out for as the Raja's successors still stay there in above floors. The only thing I was not happy about this palace is its entry fee ...they are charging 250/- per person as entry fee ...which is not worthy enough I feel cause interiors are not well maintained and many structures and paintings have gone old and caught dust and marks . The entry for palace is 250/- and for the museum they are costing 175/- seperately...

Beautiful Palace... Must visit. but entry fees bit costly.. lot of restrictions bcoz of the Still Royal family lives in the same palace in 1St floor .... Beautiful Lawn with lot of Peacocks moving around. Palace must be maintained outside as exteriors need maintenance clean and paintings

Great experience visiting this heritage palace from British Era built for a Maratha Chieftain with amazing legacy of philanthropy and culture. Digital audio guide helps when looking at works of art - statues, paintings, pottery, building design, lighting, furniture and so on. A throwback to the Raj for modern enthusiasts. Wish they could provide more space for leisurely walk through the exhibits as the space was too crowded.

The Lakshmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, was constructed by the Gaekwad family, a prominent Maratha family, who ruled the Baroda State. Major Charles Mant was credited to be the main architect of the palace. Since 2002, Samarjitsinh is married to Radhikaraje, who is from the royal family of Wankaner State; the couple has two daughters. The four of them, along with Shubhanginiraje, live in the Laxmi Vilas Palace, which is the largest private residence in India. Built over 500 acres, this is the largest private home built till date and four times the size of Buckingham Palace. The most impressive Raj-era palace in Gujarat, its elaborate interiors boast well-maintained mosaics, chandeliers and artworks, as well as a highly impressive collection of weaponry and art. Beautiful place to know the history of Kings but prices of tickets in my view is overpriced.

Nice place to visit if you are a history lover or like to see an ancient kind of site. This place belongs to SayajiRaje Gaekwad III (if I am not wrong). You have to pay 250Rs as an entry fee. Kids below 8 have free entry. You have to take an audio device from the office as per your preference of language, and your journey begins for an hour. Audio is a guided tour where 11 episodes are there. When you go to any place, you will find a number per place, which is actually an episode for that place. They also offer lavish lunch or dinner with additional price. Which is basically a buffet lunch/dinner within the palace. Food you will not find much different that the restaurant food but the experience is somewhat like 5 star. Free parking is available.

Laxmi Vilas Palace, a mesmerizing architectural marvel in Vadodara, India, is a testament to opulence and grandeur. This majestic residence turned museum invites visitors into a world of royal splendor, showcasing a fusion of Indo-Saracenic and European styles. The sprawling grounds, ornate interiors, and extensive collection of artifacts provide a captivating glimpse into India's regal history. A must-visit for anyone enamored by heritage, art, and architectural brilliance. Would highly recommend for students interested in history or have interest in visiting museums

Its a wow place. Right from the time you enter, you will get a wow effect. Its a huge place but the main palace tour, which is self guided, will take approx 45mins. Palace is very well maintained. Photography inside the palace is prohibited, but you can take pictures from outside. It has beautiful gardens, also used as golf course, houses a restaurant and a banquet for marriages and corporate gatherings, good parking facilities among others. Good tourist destination overall and the ticket price is worth it.

What a Palace. Opulence, Art, History, detailing, collection, beauty, Art and Architecture. Everything is stunning. Audio guide is so good. Please make sure you play the audio at the right exhibit number and learn about its history in full glory. My personal favorite was Wagh Nakh which Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj used against Afzal Khan. Durbar Hall is also too good with the Murani mosaic and sculptor Felici. You can take photographs so you are surely to get absorb in the beauty of the Palace has to offer. Enjoy.

A very very beautiful palace and a great heritage building, one could really see. Such a wonderful experience looking at the beautiful architecture. It is indeed a rare opportunity to visit this palace. Beautifully maintained garden and great landscapes, one could cherish for their lifetime. The statues of the kings and queens are very beautiful. We can observe the intricate designs throughout the palace. In some places the details are done in gold and highlight the designs. I liked the most in the palace are the beautiful sculptutrs and paintings done by Ravi Varma are simply superb. There are many things which are really artistic. One must surely visit the palace.

Very beautiful palace. Everything is very well maintained. Rich history. Quality of audio book is also good. Takes approx a little more than 1 hour to complete the tour. Must see site if u ever come to Vadodra. For Indian citizens it's 250 bucks per head. They also have lunch and dinner facilities. Everything can be pre-booked online. They also have a mini cafeteria with amazing upside down pineapple cake. Loved it. I went on a rainy day so the weather was very pleasant and the pics turned out very well.

Largest Private Residence in the world. It is a good spot to hangout with family. The ticket is on the costlier side taking in consideration its maintenance which I feel can be better. You should visit this place to know about the royalty and heritage of Vadodara.
