Review Yellow Chilli Restaurant - Vadodara

Anesh Butala
It provides authentic punjabi food along with vast verity in its menu for both veg and non veg the planner used is soft and melts in mouth. The quality of food is high grade . And the service provided is also pretty good . Must visit place for authentic punjabi food ..and the Gulab jamun is the best the size is just good ..

I loved the service, environment and of course the food...the portion of each dish is quite large( 1 dish is enough for 2 persons)...the Manager is courteous and ensures you leave the restaurant with a smile...Gulab e Gulkand - dessert is worth trying...

Best place in the city if you want to try something different from the usual family restaurant menus yet Indian food. Quality food gets complimented by great service and charming ambience.

Very slow service. Cold food. On complain the manager says in a rude manner that the service is ok and we take a lot of time in preparing food.

We visited the restaurant in October but getting down to reviewing now..

The food was very flavor full and unique. Dishes had a good north indian flavor with a Sanjeev Kapoor touch! Food quality seemed nice...

Service and staff friendly. They are also good at suggesting items to order.

A cozy and average Interior- nothing grand but comfortable.

Amazing place with amazing ambience.Perfect blend of the dishes recommended.Sanjeev Kapoor at his best.Couldn't ask for more.Only should have some liquor too :p

Yellow Chilly is true to it's name... waning in it's bite! This is Sanjeev Kapoor chain of restaurants!

The decor is average without much thought. The service is good and that is all where the ratings towards good stops! The food is quite average- we ordered cream Chicken ludhianvi and mutton curry accompanied with lachcha partha and rice. The chicken was too sweet and the mutton was mostly bones not much meat and terribly spicy. I often wonder why would you put bones without meat in a gravy?! The reason someone orders mutton is because they'd like to have the meat, gnawing on bones isn't my idea of a restaurant outing! The rest of the meat was chewy. Terrible for a restaurant if you claim to be good and if Sanjeev Kapoor is promoting!

Quite a disappointing trip!

I often visit there! The atmosphere is cool. I like kabab in starters and the most important to me is deep they provide best combination of deeps as I know. I also love cheese garlic naan which is to die for and my all time favourite dal makhani I must say Sanjeev kapoor got some magic! And desserts what to say about it kulfi and rabri are my personal favourite! The place is good for family dinners! They got good space.

They still charge the service charges without taking customers nod. The service is too lazy......on asking to remove the service charges they removed the discount too... Very unprofessional... On complaining they didn't even react properly.... Found straws in their rice.. Didn't even have courtesy to apologise... Worst ever dinner in my life on my b'day... Never gonna visit... The waiter was said its upto u... If u don't wanna visit don't come.... They don't respect law.....

Went with school friends on lazy sunday lunch. Ambience is pleasent. Tasty Jaljira served as welcome drink. Food was delicious from soup to desert. But, citibank offer denied by the management.

I went here with a skeptical mind about the service and staff since few people have written negative about the staff. But I found the staff attentive and welcoming, inspite of the crowd there. We ordered lemon and coriander soup which was extraordinary. The hot and sour soup had perfect blend of flavours. No excessive vinegar, no extra soya sauce..
From the main course, we had Anglo Indian veggie which was a combination of Indian and exotic veggies in a sweet n sour sauce. We also had corn palak which was delicious. The nawabi biryani was brilliant. You get the aroma of ghee with every bite you eat.
What I didn't like, was rumali roti. It was not good at all.

Sanjiv Kapoor is doing a good job at least with this outlet of yellow chilli. The chef here is good and the food reminds me of Delhi. The typical. Parth Indian cuisine, Baroda definitely needed this. Great ambience and the staff is also courteous.

Visited for dinner with friends from USA
Very disappointing experience
The service part was the worst ever possible
The food too very salty overcooked and cold
The staffis untrained and insufficient
Very poor overall place
Never take your special guests and friends

We went to celebrate my close friend's birthday. The ambience is comfortable and soothing however the staff is not welcoming. The taste of the food will surely match anybody's taste bud but will disturb the pocket. This restaurant can provide a fine dinning experience just minus the staff.
Shruti Rai Khanna
Classy. The food is great. The staff is good. Since the menu doesn't give you a lot of options, I ended up ordering that was suggested by the staff. And the experience was great.

The good was okay tbh. Seems like an overrated north Indian restaurant. The presentation of some dishes was with the money, otherwise the flavors seemed decent. I would have rated it 3.5 but their service sucked big time. We were 20 people and they kept messing our orders by over ordering internally. The food serving service was pathetic and the server himself seemed frustrated from the management's multiple mess ups. The server cursed in front of us which seemed quite unprofessional. Probably not worth taking bigger parties to this one, they simply don't have the man power to handle it. The deserted were good though! Ordered gulab jamun which is huge, kulfi and chocolate brownie sizzler. The brownie sizzler was the best!

This place being a Sanjeev kapoor 's kitchen, truely proves its name. Food is undoubtedly delicious. We had ordered Karara subz roll and paneer starter. In the Main course we had Anglo indian curry and a Spicy paneer curry. Every dish was cooked to perfection. Presentation is like cherry on the cake. Only drawback i felt- very slow service.. We almost sat for 45mins waiting for our main course to arrive.. Other than that it was a good experience.
Dipak Keshwani
The food doesnt live up to the expectations. Doesnt justify to be associated with Sanjeev Kapoor's name!! Service ws pretty slow even without full crowd. Ambience is average considering the prices!
Harshil Gandhi
As usual offers same dishes as other Punjabi outlets do!! But taste is all that matter and this restro has won in this battle... Supportive staff..
Ambience wasn't so good as compared to the yellow chilli restaurants at other cities (compared to yellow chilli Guwahati). The service and food was so good that it overpowers the lacking of a good ambience. I am a vegetarian. I ordered a veg manchow soup which was alright. Karara subz roll was really, really tasty!
I ordered a paneer takatak which was spicy alright. Sham savera was the dish which made my day.
As for drinks, I tried a peru pyala which looked weird but one of the finest mock tails I 've ever tried. Virgin pina was also a really good drink.
According to my non vegetarian colleagues, their orders also weren't so bad.
Service was good but prices were way too high for a north indian cusine. If you wanna give to this restaurant a try, I suggest you fill your pockets tight! I

So I wanted to know why this place was so hyped and I went there with one of my meat loving friends to this place on a Saturday evening.. apparently the place was all empty when we arrived.. we were served with roasted papad and lemonade shots... I being a vegetarian and a complete mushroom lover, called for stuffed tandoori mushroom which turned out pretty good for me.. I would rate it a star dish on my order.. the texture and the stuffing was nice but the melted cheese killed the flavours.. I can call for the same dish but without the cheese.. that will be a show stopper.. for main course I called for Paneer taka tak and Butter naan.. the texture and the quality of Paneer was very commendable.. but the gravy was not up to the mark.. it was too tomatoey.. not very cooked either.. It was as if there's paneer in a salsa dip.. I'll rate 1.5/5 for this dish..

Coming to the non veg dishes, my friend called for chicken rara.. which was boneless chicken chunks in mutton kheema.. which was also OK according to my frnd.. we also called for jeera rice.. I was not too happy with the quality of Rice also it was half cooked.. hence the rating.. please don't spoil the name of a India's most favourite chef

I am a big fan of sanjeev kapoor cookery skills. His name is enough to drag u here. I have been to yellow chilli Indore and to my surprise it's better thn that in terms of ambience. Even in the daytime, the place looks pleasing. A library is thr at the entrance having cookery books and a food tv channel is running continously infront of it. We were welcomed with roasted papad rolls and a drink. For food, we decided to go with signature dishes. In starter we had some veg roll kinda thing which was interestingly presented though the taste was okay. In main course, we ordered Paneer taka tak which was delicious, the best paneer dish i ever had and sham savera is just speechless, perfect soft koftas in such a pure gravy. The service was poor. Obviously one would order second set of bread once he finished first, although we have ordered a min before still thy took a lot time to get new one. This need to be improved as thr is no sense of eating hot bread with cool veg. At the end we were served with complimentary paan which was again yummy. For fine dining experience, this place is a good option.

Totally superb food and service. Ambience was nice. We ordered north indian food and that chef special was too good. You must try that. Naan and roti was up to the expectations. Overall had a nice time and food over there.

Really a good place for having good food. Presentation of food was awesome. It is not a big place to dine, hence be ready to wait. Overall good experience. Good service. Some of the service techniques are really unique.

Really great place if you are craving for a modern Indian cuisine experience. Absolutely loved the food. Very fresh and prepared with care. From their starters to their desserts, everything tastes great, every time!!
The ambience is pretty good. The staff is very friendly. The food's rightly priced. What more can anyone ask for?

Mouth watering food and gets full marks on the quality. If you are looking for Indian food this place is a must visit. The ambiance is pretty good. The staff well trained. I had a really good experience here compared to other restaurants in Vadodara.

Nice food, nice service, very good complementary nimbo pani and papad.
Sabji with makhni gravi and dal makhni are awesome must try.....I eat a lot beyond my capacity when we visit Yello Chilli, thank u sanjeev kapoor for making nice food

It was a special occasion for my sister and brother-in-law to celebrate. Though being in Mumbai planned a surprise lunch for them in Vadodara. Researched a number of restaurants but choosing a 'Sanjeev Kapoor' one was the safest bet. The Manager, Bruno was very co-operative and I could easily book a table for them, request him to invite them by making calls and subsequently serve the best! They were offered the best of Manchow Soup, Veg Jalfrezi and mouth watering Kulfi to name a few. It was remotely planned but executed professionally as well as with utmost care. I surely recommend this restaurant (though not being there in person) and appreciate the gesture of the entire staff to make today a 'special one' for my extended family!! Cheers, Keep up the good work:)

Ambience & Menu - Needs renovation. Don't go to washrooms by mistake.

Ordered two soups - both are below the average.

Ordered two starters both are good.

Main course are good.

Go if pockets are heavy.

So if you are tired of same old non vegetarian food of Jashan and Mirch Masala, this place is definately worth trying once. New dishes, the menu is filled with alot of new recipes. Must try the spinach cottage cheese koftey in red sauce, the black lentil dal, the pyaz mirchi ki roti , the minced lamb and chicken chunks in brown sauce and the gulkand wala large size gulab jamun. The servers are humble and quick. Ambience is decent. Presentation is excellent. Novelty in terms of lemonade welcome shots, sweet papaya chutney, onions dipped in red chilli, hing and vinegar etc as accompaniments are refreshing. Price is moderate as well

Ambience, food and service was good...!!!! North Indian food stuff was just amazing! Deserts were mind blowing....😄😄Must visit place... 😋

Good food good service and food ambiance. Desserts were amazing. Main course was fine over all good north Indian food had after such long time. Good flavours are there. I recommend to everyone.

It's a Sanjeev Kapoor restaurant and I had to try it out to check if it's actually all that great. So when we entered, we were escorted by the person at the counter to our seats. Before we ordered, we were given the welcome drinks. I don't know what it was but it was just amazing.
This is what we ordered:
1) Mocha Mint Slush- A drink with a mix of chocolate and coffee flavouring. A sweet drink which is a good accompaniment with spicy food.
2) Chandi Kaliyan- Chicken tikka with cheese, I had to try this out. And it's one of their signature dishes. Met my expectations, one of the best chicken tikka I've ever had.
3) Murgh Makhani- this was just classic. But it would've been better if the gravy had been thicker.
4) Garlic Naan- The garlic flavour was just perfect. Like many of the places lack the flavour of garlic in the naan. But this place had perfect garlic flavouring.

What I feel was this place was good. But it doesn't stand out of the crowd. It's like a regular Indian restaurant. And I recommend you to try out the Chandi Kaliyan when you go to eat at the restaurant.

It's one of the best place of Vadodara for dinning. They serve delicious dishes and presentation of dishes is one of the best quality of here. Other than food they have a great ambience with light music. Slightly High priced but that is compensated by the way their well behaved staff treats you and serve you. We ordered spring roll in starters and to our surprise they brought each spring roll in a decorated glass which was a very different and unique way of serving. They really take care of there customers. Will surely visit it again.

Went to this place on Sunday afternoon and to our surprise it wasn't very crowded. They serve only North Indian food. We ordered the usual starters main course food. It was delicious. The starter was good and the paneer subji was amazing. At the start they give you a glass of pudina water like pani puri which is really good and at the end they give you pan. Definitely worth visiting.

Went to yellow chilli on 16 may ..ambience was good. Food was very good probably one of the best in vadodara . lalla mussa dal is a must try. Signature dishes are something worth trying out. :).. A must go place

Having heard a lot about Sanjeev Kapoor's chain of restaurants, me and my mother decided to check the place out and give a treat to our taste buds. The service was above average and we were welcomed with a jaljeera complimentary drink, which provided much respite from the heat which we bore in the peak of the afternoon to drive there.

Chandi Kalyan - We decided to order a non-veg starter in order to assess the quality of food before pouncing upon the main course. The presentation of the dish was fantastic. 6 pieces of appropriately grilled boneless juicy chicken breast pieces along with onion rings dipped in sour cream. A layer of edible silver atop the chicken pieces gave a pleasant glamour to the dish. The chicken was grilled to perfection and it's juiciness and texture very well confirmed that it was fresh. The mint and garlic green chutney served along with this dish complimented the barbecue-ish taste. We couldn't wait to try our hands on the main course after the scrumptuous starters.

Shaam Savera - Paneer and spinach koftas dipped in buttery rich tomato gravy. The kofta was not the regular deep fried one we usually encounter. It was a hand cupped soft half ball of crushed paneer and crushed spinach blended together and dipped into the gravy. The gravy was super rich and sweet in taste. It is a dish which I believe won't be enjoyed by everyone. If you have a flair for sweet tasting main-course, then this is a satisfactory choice. However if you're looking for something spicy or tangy then it's advisable not to order this. It is quite heavy in texture and feel of appetite as well. Quantity is quite large for 2.

Laal Mussa Dal - Hands down the best daal makhani ever tasted. It wasn't "makkhan" per second, but the taste of butter was dominating the daal and was super yummy. A must try.

Mint paratha - Normal paratha with a dash of basil leaves on the top. Cooked well. It was surprisingly soft and easy to break unlike other places where it's very difficult to break or chew. The major ingredient was whole wheat and it was clearly highlighted by the taste and feel of the paratha.

Onion chilli paratha - this was the perfect complement to the sweet shaam savera. Paratha garnished with copious amount of green chilli and diced onions.

Kesar Rabdi with ice cream - we decided to ditch their special chocolate kufi dessert and opt for this dessert in order to explore the quality of their sweet-tooth section. We were not disappointed. Copious amount of creamy rabdi was served along with their self-made rabdi ice cream. It was absolutely fresh. The taste of the typical malai kufi was heroed and the grated pistacchios in the dish only made it better.

Overall, a wonderful experience. Staff was well-mannered and courteous. They made sure we were served well and generously helped us in making our lunch choices. I'm definitely visiting the place again, specifically to try out their dessert section.

The place has great ambience and the food is here is also good. What I really liked about this placed was the service quality. The service quality was just exceptional. Also you would love the complimentary drink. Overall, a nice family family restaurant.

Yellow chilli came as a suggestion from one of our colleagues as it had Sanjeev Kapoor's brand name so we decided to give it a try, but the experience was not so pleasant food quality was very much average, also the ambience and service of the place was very much average and the place was heavily over priced!! You can skip this one, not at all recommended!!!

Went here quite unwillingly, but was pleasantly surprised. The sarson machhi and black daal(don't remember the actual menu name) were nothing like I've ever had before. It was simple and yet so delicious. I was surprised that a simple daal can be so flavourful. The amount of spices was not a pinch more nor a pinch less, it was just right.
I wish we had stopped there, I would have definitely given 4 points. But we went ahead and ordered a dessert - shahi tukda. We ordered this simple dessert because everything else seemed experimental. It's a horror when a perfectly good meal is spoiled by a dessert, which is usually the highlight of the meal! The piece of bread which is supposed to be sweet and a bit crunchy, was hard to chew - more like a thick stale roti. And the rabdi was powdery as if it was made using one of those 'ready-to-make' mixes by a 5 year old. I am not a rabdi fan and have had it only once before at the Aggarwal sweet shop in Azad market, Delhi, and it was worlds apart!
I would like to add that this review is coming after a couple of months, that's because 1. I'm lazy and 2. I could not decide upon the rating.
But no matter how many months pass, there are two things I never forget 1. Good food and 2. Bad food!!!
Sagar Agarwal
Great ambience,Great food... Nice service..
An overall experience.. Definitely try the Peru Pyala mocktail... 😉
Had a special menu for the world Cup.. Probably has something for the IPL too...
Prathamésh Pagédar
The name of the place is a little misleading. "Yellow chillies" definitely doesn't sound like an Indian only cuisine restaurant. The food isn't great and to top that we got an insect in the soup! The ambience is soso and definitely doesn't match the asking price of the menu.
The dessert was good surprisingly thus earning this place 1 star on 10.
A complete waste of money. Avoid at all costs.
Dishaa Vaghela
Visited this restaurant 3 weeks back but I'm sorry so say I wasn't pleased by the food or ambiance or the service or the staff.

This place is a chain of Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and brings you an excitement in itself but the reality is different here. I would not blame entirely on the management but there are a few factor which brings the name of the restaurant down and is just OVER HYPED.

I went for my lunch meeting with a friend and entered around 1.45 and since I knew their closing time we totally ordered full meal at a single stretch.

The order was:
Motiya Tikki ( Sabudanna n raw banana Tikki )
Butter chicken
Plain roti's
Roasted papad
Buttermilk

As soon as we were welcomed to our table, they served us with a shot of lime water to beat the heat. And that gesture made me more excited to enjoy my lunch. Soon enough we were severed our starter Motiya Tikki with mint chatni and some salad. If I had to just judge the dish by its looks I would have given it a 2.5/5. I basically love this combination of Sabudanna and raw bananas but the starter was a disaster. It's was deep fried to the extent that the outer covering was damn chewy and hard. A normal fork and spoon could not help. And talking about the taste it was really mild and a bit tasteless.

Since I was on a lunch meeting we were engrossed in our talks but I did make a note to the captain to server the food as it was ready. But to my surprise our main course wasn't served till 2.50 pm. And than after captain comes up and says "it our closing time, can you please hurry up?" I was taken aback, and I asked WHERE IS MY FOOD ?? And to my surprise he says "you are too slow in eating". With this I wanted to leave the restaurant but since my colleague insisted to calm down and I believe in not wasting the food no matter what. We somehow tried and finished our meal.

The main course was non veg, so the chicken was moist and well cooked and tasted good.

And since it was a disaster from the start, we ended up not getting finger bowls.

Verdict:
Service 2/5
Ambiance 2/5
Taste 3/5

Might need Chef. Sanjeev Kapoor's supervision if not improved in near future.

We went there with my family and some guests..Let's start with the menu ..it's was not simple..the menu should be simple so that customer can understand..but it was very hard to understand..many sabji was also not available..and also the quantity of food was very less

Decent ambience and average food. The portions are quiet large, and the food seems a bit sweetened. Decent pricing, good place to go with family.

I am a so disappointed with the service of the yellow chilli Vododara . Food was very good ,The pricing is also not so much high but they need to improve their service
.

I liked everything about the restaurant. The ambience was nice.Their signature dish-Shaam Savera was just awesome...I too used to prepare shaam savera at home after watching it on khana khazana but this one was out of the world.Lachcha paratha needs to be improved.overall the resraurant is one of the best in vadodara...i liked it v much...

Expectations were high but turned out very low... Highly over rated place ... Service was so slow that i had to cancel out my orders.. Panner was well prepared different from normal restaurants .. Would definatly go for BBQ Nations over this ..2/5.

Being a star chef restaurant chain, my expectation was little bit high but my experience was ok. Food was good, ambience was ok,service was not up to the mark.

Went with my dear wifey on our 3rd wedding anniversary celebrations . Booked the table in advance as its mainly in waiting. Did a candle light dinner with lights as well. In starter ordered unique corn creamy tikki well prepared and amazing in taste with some curd and tarter sauce on it. Also ordered chocochips kulfi well garnished with chocolate sauce sprinkled. In main course had sham savera veg which was made of spinach koftas served in yellow tinch gravy with indian breads like roomali roti and tandoori roti. Had an overall good experience . Liked the ambience as well. Can be surely considered . Service was good too with good staff. Overall good experience for the same. Little bit over rated . Cant comment upon non veg preps as hard core veggie.

Probably the best food you'll find in Vadodara. Good service and ambience. Highly recommended to everyone who wants to have some good Indian food.

Totally test less food which I had in my life safe where totally un servicing they were busy on their mob and food came very late and was also cold so I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone of you and my family members plz do avoid this restaurant from your mind also

I was expecting a lot more than what this place had to offer. I was very disappointed with majority of the dishes. Also, if it's a specific cuisine, they should keep it to that cuisine instead of trying to cater to everyone. Majority of their dishes were sweet and almost seemed like they were trying to impress Gujaratis! Shyam savera was as sweet as you can call an entree before it becomes a dessert! The Gobi dish tasted pretty much the same. I haven't had North Indian in a while but I'm sure it isn't supposed to be this sweet.

The staff was nice and tried to help is with the young kid to the best of their abilities. They did make a couple of errors but it could be because of our large group (9 people). I would look elsewhere to get my North Indian fix.
Govind Shah
Hotel staff and service very poor . We will think 1000 times to visit again.

Basic courtsey was missing. We asked for after meal fresheners he bluntly refused and said out of stock!!

I have visited India's top restaurants never found somebody like i found here!! Pathetic..

As expected the food was great . Ambience is quite good. Service was fine. Would prefer to visit again. The quality of food served and prices are equally balanced.

Food tried - Non-vegetarian
Food quality - Average
Price - Quite high as compared to food quality
Time to serve food - half an hour
Ambience - Nice
I always wanted to try out this restaurant because of the hype that it is sanjeev kapoor's restaurant. So i decided to check it out.

The ambience of the restaurant is quite nice.
I ordered a starter of paneer and butter chicken with butter roti and 'sarson ka saag' with 'makai ki roti'. Both the dishes turned out to be good.

They refused to swipe credit card due to technical error in the machine. But after an argument, the machine 'miraculously' starts working.

So to sum up,
Ambience - 4/5
Service - 2.5/5
Food - 3.5/5
Cost - 2.5/5

It was overall an average experience.

Gagan Uppal
The Indian food was awesome. The lalla musaa dal is a pure form of dal makhani. Amazingly tasty, very smooth. The dal was just the required blended as in a perfect dal. We also ate green chilli keema. I must say I didn't had any tastier keema ever. The ambience is good. And service is good. But the lacha prantha was not up to the expectation. Rest every thing was fine.
Karishma Wagh
Boneless chicken marinated in a batter of cream, cashew nut, white pepper & salt cooked in hell heat of charcoals, dressing with cheese & olives. Garnishing with onion & onion stem.

Fools! Thats all I can say about the staff. Do not believe anything they say. They told me they have no reservation system and made me wait 1 hour because the others were reserved before. Also the staff was uncooperative and disrespectful
Ashish Patel
The Yellow chilli decent consistent resturant of town which has never made me upset with the service and food. Since last 4 months I am being relular customer for them because of smooth service with real spiced food, turning finger smacking food. If you are non vegetarian, this place is heaven for you.
Abhishek Soni
Centrally situated, nice seating and good ambience. The starters look quite fancy and they taste well too. About main course, the paneer dishes are really really good, but if you are not a paneer fan, you wont find much of a taste in rest of the veggies. They could improve the serving time though, the starters usually take quite a while to come. Overall the restaurant is recommendable. Mocktails could do better. The restaurant is a lil over priced comparing to its competitors but then again it is a brand.

I was initially very excited as this is a Sanjeev Kapoor's restaurant chain but sadly when I visited this place, all my excitement was vanquished by the taste of the food. I am reviewing the vegetarian part only as I am a vegetarian. Right from the soups to desserts, I found the menu pretty restricted lacking varieties. As they claim that they serve items with Sanjeev Kapoor twist in that, I think that they require better person who actually knows the menu and suggest the customers the food-items likewise. I was so disgusted when they serve sabzi-naan as well as daal-tadka and Jeera-rice at the same time on the table (Needless to mention,I told him the order that first he is suppose to serve Sabzi-Naans and upon finishing it,he should serve Dal-Rice, Do I even need to tell him that too?).I liked the ambience over there but other than that right from its food to its horrible unpolished staff made my Sunday awful. Definitely, A BIG NO!!
Nitisha Sha
We were in Vadodara few weeks back for a business trip, and with our clients we wanted to have dine dine. After going through reviews on zomato we landed up at The Yellow Chilli. Decent ambiance, with helpful staff. Starting from starters and ending with dessert. Everything was perfect. We would recommend this place for family.

A very good place to have a really authentic, delicious and filling North Indian meal..

The ambience is nice.. The service is prompt and quick, the staff polite!

Coming to the food, right from starters to main course, it's served in a good quantity, authentic taste and an interesting innovation too..
From cardamom flavoured onions with our Paneer starter, to the papaya pickle, the taste is amazing.
We had Ralli Milli Sabzee and Corn Chatkara Palak, which were very well prepared.
The ending of meal by serving Paan, was really nice.
Overall, a definite must visit place!

Get together planned at The Yellow Chilli, heard lot about if from Foodies Group.

Delicious Food, dishes with unique names- may be all were signature dishes.

Service and Sitting arrangement can be improved a bit. but overall we had wonderful experience.

A leap from 1 to 1.5.
A second visit...
Chef does not hv an off day... The food itself is sad...

Apart from paneer tikka everything was bland. Just been here once and it's a forbidden restaurant for me.. The chef might have an off day but being a Sanjeev Kapur restaurant it is very sad. The mocktail ordered was tasting like medicine.. Even after writing a review surprisingly no one called back.
Atri Panchal
Running coz of chef sanjiv kapur all preparation are well blanced and perfectly garnished..I loved signature Shyam savera and kesarvali kulfi...

The food here is innovative and has a twist.. But they also have authentic dishes which will make you feel good.. This is one place you should not miss!

I would like to come straight to the point, we all go to restaurant for food and the food here is excellent.. Lajawaab is the word. It was my first experience at yellow chilli and I am in love with it for sure. We ordered ralli malli sabzi which is a wonderful mix of peppers (bell peppers) brocolli, spinach and other veggies.. and laccha paratha which was crispy and perfectly cooked. One laccha paratha that we got was little bit soft and not crispy as soon as we drew attention of the staff to it they changed it with more crispy one. Our issue was addressed promptly and nicely. So I can say overall it was great experience. will surely visit again. AWESOME GUYS KEEP IT UP!!!!!

The yellow chilli has turned out to be pretty much one of the best North Indian food outlets in Baroda! A Sanjeev Kapoor run restaurant, this place offers a variety of North Indian dishes ranging from very spicy to extremely spicy! The food presentation and taste is amazing. The portions are satisfying (more than satisfying, actually) and the staff is courteous. We had ordered the adraki ghaniya Paneer, with a spinach chickpeas dish and a portion of Dal Mizaz! It was all well done. Taking back a lot of memories from this place food wise :).
In all a great experience. Butter naan needs to be ordered

Best tase ever but costly u cant hav meal for two people in 800 .staffs re so nice gud timing and friendly.atmosphere is excellent .food quantity is less fo the cash paid.if considered the taste of food yes its chef sanjeev kapoors signature!!!
Ms. Pancholi
Sanjeev kapoor's signature restaurant...& as the name suggests the menu and the food presentation are just like what you get to see on his shows.

Ambience : 4.0 it is located in a mall on second floor but the interiors have not been compromised and you can easily choose the destination for any celebration or occasions.

Food : 4.00 impressive the way they present their starters specially kurkure subz rolls( spring rolls) . The taste matched the imagination one carries with it. In short awesome.
The dessert called zauk e shahi is amazing. Combination of toast sweetened bread + mini gulab Jamuns & rabdi is a must try !!

Service : 3.5 they are a little slow especially when they are occupied else good enough and courteous.

Overall , it's a place worth visiting once at least ! :)

on my way back from the restaurant and couldn't wait till i reach home to write about yellow chilli. i am completely sold over yellow chilli. the balance in food is just awesome. we tried the spinach chicken, fish tikka and gosht biryani. the food is lip smackingly yummilicious. all the foodies please do try TYC. cheers!

Not good at all. Waited for 50 min and then they serve friums as free. Demanded 2nd serve said not in system and will be chargeable.
Ordered jain dish, it was so blend as if it was for sick people.
Total disappointment. Why sanjeev kapoor wants so much money.
Indorifoodiee
No doubt food is awesome... It is a sanjeev kapoor's chain so atleast taste can be expected. Other that food ambience is also nice. You may want to book your table in advance during weekends as it gets long waiting line. A bit overpriced but to satisfy your tastebuds you can losen up your pocket.

Nice quality food, with chef special twist. As I am very concern about quality food, this place is of of them. Worth the money we spent. Service is good too. Ambiance is very relaxing.

Went with my parents....ordered kheema anda for starter which was stinking....prawns for main course which also had the same issue...please avoid as there are better option now
CA Sagar Desai
There is nothing so special about this place, except for the sanjeev kapoor name. The signature dishes are pretty average. The dessert is below average. Worth avoiding.

Food:
Respectable food taste and quality which was no surprise. We enjoyed some hasta alu kababs and stuffed alu palak (zannat something) amongst other dishes.

Service:
It was actually very nice and prompt. Complimentary wafers and paan was provided.

Ambience:
The presence of Sanjiv Kapooor can be felt in all the mementos, a tv screen show and shelf decorations. Although my experience was laughably spoiled by a person i presumed to be a bratty & kiddish idiot of a critic/reviewer. Kept asking loudly about some spices and other pretty unnecessary details. Kudos to the staff for their patience, forebearing and handling the guy without creating a scene.

Good place to dine in peace.. I'd say at least im impressed by the service, quality of food and presentation of the dishes, thinking about to visit more times😊

After 4years in baroda, finally found a place where the biryani and dal makhni is just perfect. The food is great and the staff is ever polite and warm! All in all a great place to satisfy your taste buds! Do not, DO NOT miss the dal makhni and biryani!

After a bit of refined search, decided to visit this place for a mate's birthday get together, and to be very frank it did not disappoint us.

This is a chain of restaurant by Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor , a very well known chef. The restaurant has a good ambience with SK's recipe books and some of the food items arranged in a matrix wall!! A flower in a glass and a candle lit alongside.

Coming to the food menu, there are really a variety of dishes for both veg and non-veg with a different and unusual names and a line of description below every dish.
After going thru each line, we ordered lemon & coriander shorba , hot n'sour soup and Mix veg grill in veg and Murg makhni in non-veg sections.
As expected , this was really something different than usual restaurants. But quantity was less compared to the price.
We decided on Rilli milli and Anglo Indian jalfrezi for main course which the latter one is a signature dish of TYC. Both are mix vegetable dishes with tomato masala as gravy and tawa respectively. Both were decent enough in taste as well as the quantity. The waiter suggested us to try the Lalla mussa dal - black lentils in signature style, was different than other dal makhni else where and tasted better!
Finally we decided not to have any dessert here and ended up on a sweet taste of sweet pan given with the bill. No discounts and no offers !! Drop your contact details at the reception if you would to receive any updates about the restaurant.
The ambience was good. The service was good n the food was excellent but just check the bill n they just doubled the quantity of mock tail we had so it was luck that we saw n manager accepted his guilt n said sorry n last we didn't got the pan as a mouth refreshment in the last as it was not in Stock. ..Rest was good.

Tushar Sharma
The food is delicious but the service is too slow.
Had to wait for around half an hour to 45 mins before getting my order. The ambience is cool enough.

Save yourself the trouble, even a small town like Baroda's seen better.
The place's so ho hum that the town's street food could be more memorable. *shrug*
Devarshi Sengupta
The the food here is amazing..especially the gravies and the speciality Sanjeev kapoor dishes.
I have been here before and it can be said that the quality of food has been par excellent. The gulaab-e-gulkhand is also worth the mention as an unique dessert. So , in all, this place deserves a visit...for all you food lovers..check it out, you wont br disapointed

Inarguably the best food in town ....a true delight for a North Indian in the city Okay now coming onto my experience in terms of the food we ordered Lemon Lassi - Bloody good 4/5Amritsari fish - Fresh fish fried in a batter infused with Garam masala 5/5 Lawrence road murgh - 3.5/5 Good but you can get better Tandoori chicken in town for much less Puran Singh da Tari waala murgh - Star of the show what taste ....spicy but yet so well balanced a big relief from the red chilly and oil laden gravies that you get in Vadodara Rating - 6/5. Deserts are very good we tried Gulab e Gulkand and its fine dine stuf combined with the flavors of your local Halwai in Delhi/Agra A great addition to the city's food landscape Will return for trying the rest of the menu
Also the Butter chicken and paneer makhani is the authentic stuff you get in Punjab

A mistake becomes a blunder if it is not corrected at the right time, with the right motive. If you had read my last article, it was a complaint box for one of the most famous food chain by the star chef, Sanjeev Kapoor, “The Yellow Chilli” (Vadodara). And yes, as a food lover and a fair admirer of Sanjeev kapoor’s recipes the experience was not up to the mark that day.

When any big name would have easily ignored the article, TYC decided to trace my number from their database and give me a call back to acknowledge the matter, as soon as the article ran through their eyes.

Well a sweet looking team member, Ejaz very patiently explained me that how the mess was created that day. And as a sweet gesture of his hospitality, invited me to have another meal with them, which I ofcourse accepted it.

The menu was pre-decided by Ejaz. He chose the dishes which not only tasted good but their taste will remain with me for a long time. Especially the soup- Nimbu Dhania. The tartness of lemon and the freshness of coriander was a perfect combination that gave me a wiggle and a soothing touch to my tummy. The starters, “Karara Subz Roll”, “Hare Masale ka Bhuna Paneer”, “Lasooni Dhania Murgh”, tasted good. But if I need to rate any one of them on a higher ladder it will be, “Lasooni Dhania Murgh”. It was a mild recipe, but the chicken was cooked incomparably. The tenderness of the chicken, gave it a melt in the mouth leaving all the added flavors behind. The main course was served with “Kurcha Saag Murgh” and “Cheese Naan”. Well where the non-veg dish was mouth watering and delicious, I wish the cheese naan could have some more cheese in it.

Last but not the least, “Gulab-e-Gulkand” came up as a bomb of sweetness. It was high on its sweetness and calorie quotient. But if you love sweet then it is the best END for your dinner at The Yellow Chilli.

It was excellent to not only eat good food but was great to see happy faces around. A birthday party was hosted with all love and care by TYC and the guests also had a lovely time dining in a great environment.

All in all TYC gave me the chance to change my opinion for them and made sure that I will go again to eat the wonderful food, whenever I will have the chance. Well, this is called “redefining the food”.

*The article belongs to www[dot]zindagidrama[dot]com

This was my first time at the restaurant after a bad hospitality experience on my first visit... This time I got to the food. It was a good experience on and all. Special mentions to the season special 'Aam and Paneer kofta'. They stole the show non vegetarian dishes also. It is slightly sweeter for a main course but I am not really a spices person so I loved it....

Delicious food. Good ambience and music. Only disappointing part was lack of variety on the menu, as in it is just for Indian cusine and it doesn't cover any other cusines. Also, I found that few items listed on the menu weren't available. Overall good experience :)
