Review So South! - Vadodara

Here I did my son's birthday partyy.we were about 24 people. The arrangement was good. They provide unlimited dinner at 279 per person. The dosas were good in taste. Only minus point was service as dosa took lot of time to be served we have to wait for next batch dosas a bit. But a good place to dine for South Indian lovers.

It's good restsurent to eat fancy south Indian food. I have never thought of south indian food in jain with this much type of variety. All the food in their menu can be made in jain. This restaurant take special care for the jain food. Good place to eat and economical too. Ambiance of the restaurant and the thier staff are excellet and the owner personally take care of each and every customer. Great variety of South Indian dosa's with fusion of new flavours like pasta , dabheli, aloo panner & the best was Dosa ice cream. Their sambhar and chutney are excellent. surely say that once you go there you will be fan of so south. Good place to have food with family. Guys would strongly recommend to visit it once.

One of the best places to have south Indian food in the cify with some twist. Various twisted options available with idli and dosa, uttapams. One must experience once who likes experiments with foods.

Very nice dosa in different flavors. We have tried most of flavors dosa all are tasty and yummy. Humble staff. Pleasant ambient.

Good for fusion dosas. The staff too is quite generous. If you are both a Pav Bhaji and a Dosa fan, you must try their bhaji dosas. Their crispy dosa variety is also good, they come with dips. I personally am a fan of their coconut chutney as too few make it that authentically. Idlis too taste amazing and are quite soft.

Nice ambience. Had chilli paneer Dosa which was fairly good. They also offer unlimited lunch with only Dosa items.

This restaurant has changed the real authentic flavors of South Indian food, though the changed flavors are good. Had amazing cabbage cheese dosa which had chinese food flavor.

Some different concepts for fusion dosas. You can get plain dosa to different flavored dosa and fusion dosa with chilli paneer or pasta and other options.<br/><br/>No work with the ambience but the taste has improved a lot over the year and this time dosas did taste better. Sambhar and chutney were ok. Someone would always be ready to topup your Sambhar every few minutes, so kinda nice service.<br/><br/>They have this unique dessert concept of icecream dosa, it's nothing but a scoop of your choice icecream on a cone made of dosa, so seems quite over priced for half a dosa paired with a small scoop of icecream.

This place has really good food. Must try are all the items that appear on their wall as a part of their interior! Like mint cheese idli, dabeli dhosa, bhaji dhosa, ice cream dhosa and the like. Their shakes are also decent. The other best part about this place is their quick and good service. And yeah don't forget the unlimited sambhar and coconut chutney. Their unlimited lunch is equally delicious.<br/><br/>Although one thing that the place lacks and could work on is the ambiance. It's very basic and low key which makes the restaurant feel very economical and quick serve. Can't always take guests there. Doesn't give a good restaurant feel.<br/>

Tried my last night dinner here, ordered unlimited dosa. Taste was good and served hot with coconut, tomato chutney and samabr.<br/>Reasonable price

I ordered Mysore masala dosa from so south restaurant. Food taste was good but really very bad at service. Instead of masala dosa they gave me plain dosa and pav bhaji which was very disappointing...

Nice outlate of south Indian food just simply nice I order vada sambhar and idli sambhar both are good packing also good a nice outlate and delivery is at time.

Food is not up to the mark, specially Dosa. Staff and ambient is good. Numbers of variety in dosa but need to improve test of dosa. Chatney and sabmar also not up to mark.

Pathetic place. Kadad dosa ke naam pe khakhra dete hai and soft dosa ke naam pe ubla hua dosa.<br/>Not at all worth it. Worst experience ever. Have also heard that the one who is running the place is an arrogant fellow.<br/>

First of all I am not great supporter of fusion and experiments in south indian cousins. We ordered chilly paneer dosa and gini cheese dosa. Taste was ok ok. Worst part is quality,taste of chatany and sambhaar. One time visit only.

Worst service ever! The service is too slow and please don't go for unlimited here. Inspite of requesting thrice about the delayed services and the cold food which was just like been taken out from the refrigerator and been served to us, they were just ignoring us as if it was normal ! We thought it would be great here to have an unlimited meal which eventually made us regret to visit such a place where the customers are ignored. Plus, there was some chaos going on into the kitchen. Someone was yelling at other. Well, whatever the matter it was, but you cannot serve the food cold to your customer. It was cold uttapas and daal.. nor the dosas were great ! Well, as I couldn't bear more ignorance, I headed to the counter., so as to make the half payment. They denied by saying 'WE DO NOT ACCEPT HALF PAYMENT MAM !' As we had not eaten properly and I insisted them to take half payment only. Well, they said do not pay any ! We were there for around more than 1 hour. Wasnt this much time enough to attend your customer properly , to give him proper service atleast should serve the food hot ! Itna to I can conclude, they give attention to only those who in group ! Could mark it negative if it was possible..

One who wants to have the taste of South Indian dishes in Vadodara, can opt out to visit this place once. Unlimited menu on Saturday can be enjoyed here for lunch and dinner as well. I liked the taste very much, however it was completely disappointing with the floor cleaning disturbing the ambience.

Who gives food in plastic pouches despite government ban? The idli smells like athlete's socks. You are a chronically disappointing restaurant. Sambar is very watery and dosa is very oily. If you order anything other than dosa, you will get stale food. The intent to satisfy customers is as big as their medu vada.

We ordered combo of dhosa n vada. They sent idli instead of vada. About quality - chatni is good, idli is also good and soft. But quality of dhosa is average and sambhar no so good- ok ok.

Not satisfied please increase the quality of the product. Loaded with Garam Masalas makes me feel like I am eating only masala so please increase the quality.

Giving 1 Star is an overstatement. Giving one star out of 5 means the food would be 20% likable. But it was way worse. The food smelled bad and I think it was stale. Disappointed!

The masala uttapam, plain dosai and maggi idli was innovative tasty and delicious. Loved it. As it was delivered fresh and hot, savouring it was truly a treat to the stomach. BUT the sambhar and chutney was one of the WORST that I had in my life, sambhar being bland, lack of salt and too fluidy (I mean there's hardly any difference with water) and the chutney having improper consistency and too much of salt and sourness. Main course was so good but one can never enjoy a South Indian meal without perfect sambhar-chutney!

I ordered cheese pineapple dosa and chinese chopsuey dosa. Didn't like the taste at all. It was a total disappointment. Pineapple were smelling bad. Not roasted but rotten. Taste of sambhar was okay. Not tasty at all. It was good earlier.

I rate this place in negative 🌟. Worst experience. Food quality was very poor. Sambhar = masala water. N rates are very high. Manager has not knowledge of how to behave with their customers. Instead of accepting his mistake he argued with us. Waste of money. I will never suggest anyone for so south. Very worst food quality and service. Don't waste ur valuable money 💰 at this place. You can find south india street food much better n testy than so south. Very bad experience. Never come again.n if there is option of zero in feedback form then I would give definitely zero. PRICE :- The rate of this place is very very high.<br/>2. Delivery :- it took them over 90 mins to deliver my order,<br/>3.Service :- The stuff was so cold that could not have a single bite <br/>4. Taste :- The worst masala dosa till date,<br/>5. Behavior :- worst , I asked for a call back from the outlet, they didn't even bother to and the guy I called said, sir of you want to eat, you can or just dump it.<br/>6. Behaviour from zomato ;- the worst as they were not able to connect to the restaurant and then I told them the problem they said we are not responsible for anything I think zomato should stop taking online ordering, when I asked for a call back from manager, no one is replying to me thank you for great experience

Uttapam and Idli were fresh. But I might add using too much sauce or chutney on uttapam was not needed. Taste was good inspite of that. Nevertheless, I give them three stars for their service and good food.

Made me wait for 1.5 hour to tell me they can't deliver my order. No courtesy to call and tell me.. I had to call and ask where the hell is the order.. and what I got was a feeble sorry.<br/>Don't order at all from this place!<br/>

I ordered Mysore masala bhaji dosai.. which tasted good, but was low on quantity. Then I ordered Jini with cheese cunks , which was very good. It's quantity was also satisfying. I also ordered chocolate shake.. which was very delicious. Though the service was a little low.

I would begin with the ladder that took me up to this Dosai Platz on the the first floor... watch your steps as i found the granite  or whatever layer on the ladder with crevices and a lil shaky...<br/>Now we come to the interiors.. two words- very simple :) Ambience.. two words - sans Music :(<br/>Staff is quick .. We tried two of their stuffed Dosai 1)Maggi Noodles Dosai and 2)Mushroom Corn Dosai .. Very quick service and the Dosai were good . I like the former one more :) and wish the latter had  less coating (chutney) inside which made the dosa too soft ..<br/>Lecher (Tasty) food !!! <br/>keep Serving and keep spreading smiles Team :)

Though it's name is So South it is not So South in literal sense.<br/>But the taste and quality was quite decent when we went there.<br/>They have given a completely different touch to South Indian food.<br/>They have Crispy Dosas with Italian Dips which gives u a completely different experience <br/>The cone shaped stuffed Dosa and different varieties like Palak Surma and all are a delight to have if you like Cheesy food...<br/><br/>There are Some negative reviews currently so would recommend to try once and then judge...

They dont provide washroom to customers. Very shameful. its only for staff only. Customers should be all the above for a good restaurant. Food quality is too very low.

I visited this place for my friend's birthday party. Food is nice, service is slow though. Some dishes are a bit overpriced but for south-indian food lovers, this is good. When I visited, the place was full with families and friends. It was a pleasant experience overall.

Not recommended when you're aware about the proper south taste. Can go if one would like to experiment on tangy flavours combo. But the real taste of South is nowhere near.

Interesting spin on Dosas. This shop gives only Dosas and idlis. But dosas qith quite a variation in fillings. The Jini dosas are a bit sweet for my taste, and even then we had ordered the safe "cheese chunks" Dosa. The starter in form of crisp dosas with nacho dip is good also

There are different types of dosas over here which is more of a fancy kind of stuff.. A thing to taste but not of substance to satiate urself..! But still.. If u are tired of eating the same dosas everytime u make them at home or when u go outside, it's good if u go here and have some good dishes. Their waiters will recommend u some and those will be their specialty so trust them Cz we don't get much idea about its preparation and ingredients just by reading their names on the menu!

I presume it is the best south Indian place I've ever been. Something new and exciting. <br/>I had a groupon so can't complain of price at all. Had unlimited at 225 bucks which is really a good deal.<br/>However I should say the service is a bit sluggish... I asked the name of the dish to the person serving and he made an ignorant look. However, I presume its management's responsibility to train them. Nevertheless, must try for sure. <br/>Will surely revisit soon.<br/> <br/><br/>Revisited today and things have improved, my review has been read I guess. Outstanding service and well trained staff today. Also people have started to recognize this place finally. Quality has improved compared to my previous visit.

Never had so crispy dosa. So south serves awesome fusion dosas. Sambar is not upto the mark, but dosas are so yummy that you won't miss sambar.

Visited this restaurants with family. We ordered Dabeli masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa. Both were tasteless and not up to the expectations.Sambhar and chutney were tasteless too.I am giving here this rating only on the base of the Dosas we had.I had not tried any other Dosa. But good part about restaurant was it's cleanliness and politeness of staff.

One must visit this place if wants to try something different in south Indian food...their menu is uniquely designed..khakhra dosa r just awesome...n d best thing is they have special Jam n cheese n chutney combination of dosas for kids which nowhere else u find. Its very innovative and creative dosa serving kitchen. They serve everything in dosa starting from starter till the end of desert. Quality of food is also good. Quantity is low compare to price. Must try once !!!
