Have been eating here since my childhood. Whenever Aai is sick or can't make food, & if we want to eat wholesome meal, Then Maharashtra Boarding house becomes an obvious choice. The quality and taste of food hasn't changed there since last 22 years (Personal experience). Many of there staff members still working there. There are 2-3 waiters who have been working there since last 15-20 years.( Which is a great thing for any eatery). I just crave for their pattal bhaji and Maharashtrian style Dal. The place is a must try for hostel students/ Working officials living without family here in Vadodara, This is the place where you'll get vibes of home cooked food. You'll definitely enjoy your meal there.

We had lunch here yesterday. Went there not for food but to revive the sweet memories... My dad told us that he used to dine there regularly for 2 years when he first came to this city, in 1983-85!He used to get unlimited thali for 3rupees! (Now it's 130/- for the same) The nostalgia... Well food was good, fresh and hot. Satvik you can say. Staff is lovely and serves you with a smile. Place is bit small and so always full. That lovely aroma of dal drags you to this place. If you want some simple and gut friendly food, make sure to visit this place.
I eat dinner @ more than 3 years weekly 2 to 3 times very tasty food like home made very quick service unlimited food serves two sabji one kathore
We (I and my brother) used to go to this place with my Dadaji. Till Today also they have maintained the same tradition that they are known for. Simple and satvik food. Owners down to earth and polite. Food is being served with all respect, love and care. Place you can visit very often. We go here regularly. Rates are economical and pocket friendly. When you visit city and tired after shopping, leave the worry of going back to home and cooking, you can plan your lunch/dinner at this place. A complete satisfaction and value for money.

Excellent Food. Today with family I visited. we enjoyed the tasty food (Gujarati Thali ) like at home . First time I visited.. Rate is 120rs per Thali.
Punjabi and Kathiyavadi food is also available. Many people do not know this place.

We went at 7pm which is their starting time for evening meals. They started practically at about 7.15pm which is when they start preparing hot phulkas. Phulkas were star of the meal. The dal is a tiny little bit on the spicier side, but the typically Gujarati sweet taste balances it out. Do visit if what you are looking for is a regular meal. This is really a good place.
They have 2 dining places: the one on the ground floor serves Gujarati Thali, and the one on first floor serves Kathiyawadi & Punjabi Thalis. We ate the Gujarati Thali. In Gujarati Thali they gave 2 options: if you want dal, then you must have rice; if you want kadhi, you must have khichadi. They serve papad & chaas only once.
Rice should have been cooked for few more mins - it was a bit on the dry side. They also give you a choice of sweet dish items: shrikhand, ladu, etc. and these are charged separately.
What makes this restaurant a star is the waiters proactively ask you for extra rotis, rice, shaak, etc. Gives a homely & a typical Indian feel.

Experience delicious Gujarati food at Old Passion Lodge. Don't let the name mislead you. Their dishes are made with optimum spices and offer a homemade taste. The atmosphere is just like a Gujarati house, and the place is clean and the service providers are kind. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. You can order a full tiffin or half tiffin - the first serving is for two persons, and the second is for four persons. If you're not bringing your own tiffins, the parcel service is available for a small additional charge.
Authentic Gujarati food served here. Don't misinterpret with name. Food with optimum spices and like homemade taste. Its old passion lodge.Old but fantastic.
