Review Aamantran - Vadodara

It's just amazing place to dine if you love and want to have full fledge Gujarati / Punjabi / Chinese cuisine. Restaurant is well located in the heart of the city. Parking is little bit problem here, you need to be lucky enough to get your four wheeler parked nearby. Else, food is extraordinary awesome, taste is so good, ambience is cool, service is satisfactory. You can have good time with tasty food and with your family and guests.

Amazing Thali! I'm not a big connoisseur of vegetarian food, but this one blew off my mind. Being a South Indian, I cannot judge of how authenticate Gujarati food experience it is, but it served my taste buds well. Usually it's a crowded place, but since we went by 7:45, we were able to enjoy the dinner in a good ambience without being hurried. Staff is very courteous and excellent service too. It costed us 300+ taxes per head for unlimited thali. Well worth it

We ordered the famous Gujarati Thali. The food was good both in quality and taste. Ambience was also good and the staff behaved decently! Overall 8/10

Excellent vegetarian Gujarati food. We had food here on two days and came out quite satisfied. Everything is nice here. Pricing at Rs 300 for an unlimited lunch is very reasonable. They also have a simple customer retention strategy as they give a discount for 1 person if they come back in reasonable time.

One of the best place to enjoy Gujarati Dish. Good housekeeping. Nice staff. Original Gujarati taste. This is a historic place. Earlier this restaurant was using to serve food in Silver plates, bowls, spoons & glasses. They were sending all the sets of dishes to Mumbai for washing..Great history..By time, due to some reasons they discontinued to serve is Silver plate and now a days Stainless steel dish set are being used. I have been too many times here for group lunch, dinners.. everytime it was so Tasty and consistent. Parking a car is a problem here. Rest is OK.

The food is always delicious. Amazing thing is go at week days you see gujaratis giving food experience to their non gujaratis. On week ends the family enjoys the our traditional food. All time recommended you will always enjoy and the hospitality is also good than others.

This restaurant follows Thali system. They serve Vegetarian Gujarati food which is quite good in taste. Serves unlimited food and price of 1 thali is Rs. 300+. Parking is a problem near the restaurant. Discount is also offered to customer visiting 2nd time (through discount coupan given on 2st visit). Staff is good and attentive. They also serve food without Onion Garlic hence can be a good option for Swaminarayan and Jains.

Okay place for others but great place for gujrati food lovers

Very good service with delicious food. But I like to advice one thing to staff that they should ask a person/guest/customer before pouring the food in plate. As I want a half of that food item but waiters didn't here me and fill the Bowl full. Otherwise quick service.

Very well managed. Nice sitting arrangement, service and cleanliness. Food is delicious. Washroom is small, and flush was not working. Yet the ambience and other things are well and nice. Recommended.

We chose this over many options like kansaar, Rotlo, Mohanthal.<br/>Aamantran is famous for it's unique menu. Let's talk about their dishes:<br/><br/>Sabji: They provide 4 types of India sabjis(Menu changes daily) Potato sabji and kathol sabji was nice, rest of 2 was average.<br/>Roti: Fulka roti and bhakhri.<br/>Farsan:Idla and kachoori<br/>Desert: Carrot halva, fruit salad and puran podi. All are good and delecious.<br/>Ragda patis was not good.<br/>Overall nice restaurant for Gujarati dinner. Little overpriced (315/- with tax). But if you have zomato gold you can avail BOGO scheme easily.

Yesterday i visited this place. The taste of sabji is just normal like a 70 rs thali. They served 5 sabji but all 5 sabji is simple veg not any one is paneer sabji<br/>They served 2 sweets<br/>1)puran poli:-the taste of puran poli is just simply awesome acutely i have no words to describe the taste of it<br/>2) fruit salad:-average test.... Nothing special in it<br/><br/>Farshan<br/>1)aloo tikki:-the tikki was soft and good in taste<br/>2)dhokla:-normal taste like we eat in farshan shop<br/>Overall the thali is good but according to my opinion the price of the thali is too high as per the variety they served....

Found an Ant in the food. Really Disappointing.  If this is the level of food quality from well known restaurant, will have to think twice before referring it to somebody.

I have visited this place more than 3 times and every time i loved their food and taste. There can be 1-2 items which are not up to the mark but we can neglect them and love the other items which tastes best!<br/>You should visit this renowned place for Gujarati thali located in alkapuri.

Packing was very bad, the whole food was spilled in the bag and the zomato guy denied to replace it, so we had to throw all the food in the bin. Very disappointed.

Nice Place.<br/><br/>I have been there for the function of one of my relatives. The Gujarati food and services were good. But, they lack of variety in starter dishes. Also, they are not providing some extraordinary taste of the Gujarati dishes. Still, if you are new in Vadodara and looking for a good Gujarati Thali options, you can go there.

Ordered thali, but the veggies has raw suger in it and too sweet to eat. Dal was very spicy. On the other hand rice and gulab jamun were great.

Gujarati thali was okk okk. But disappointment is the manager is rude. I asked to get contact number of owner for business purpose and he reply very rudely that give your card, we cannot give you number of owner. <br/><br/>Means without listening to me, he indirectly refuse. <br/>This is very rude, mostly restaurants and cafes loose their business opportunities due to such managers...<br/><br/>If i gave him card, 90% chances he will not give card to owner, by thinking we came for marketing...haha..<br/><br/>But his behaviour is very rude.<br/>Will never come to this restaurant again..

Very poor quality food. Some veggies were stale. Even tastewise everything was bland. Service was very poor. What they offer for 300 bucks is not worthy.

This place has been here since a very long time but the quality has been on downward side since. It's famous for it's Gujarati Thali but the food is rather bland and not quite up to the mark. There are better options available in terms of food. Service and ambiance are the only saving grace here.

Been there once. It serves traditional Gujarati food. There are at least 18 different items in the plate. Servings are unlimited. But once u finish all the items once, ur tummy will be almost full.<br/>The service is a little slow during rush hours. Decent place with gujarati thaali menu. Nothing out of the ordinary. They served a pumpkin dish which definitely stood out. Try it if you are in the vicinity.

This one is famous for Gujarati Thali. We pack food from here more than we dine in. This is not my favourite for thali but yes I love it. The varieties they provide are good and definitely more than what you pay. It's worth every penny you pay.

Worst food ever , Staff is not co-operative, Service is too slow. i ordered food and the taste was horrible. I asked them to change it, they denied it totally. Also, i asked on call regarding the sodexo acceptation , they told me "yes, we are accepting it and when i went there , they denied it totally." Try other restaurant in Baroda rather than going here and waste your money.

My go to place to answer my gujarati food cravings or to soothe my food pipe down and keep my wallet happy at the same time.. Food is amazing.. You get much more than you pay for... If you are in vadodara for a tour, I would insist you to dine here and and relish the fantastic shaaks...!

Decent restaurant... Quick service... Bhakri the best in thali restaurants in baroda.... Again like kansaar food taste varies... No proper lighting outside the restaurant and too many trees to see the board

The food was good, the staff was alert, polite and swift even during peak hours - the buttermilk was fresh, rich and great in taste - the sweets (gulabjamun, custard milk) were deliciously mild in taste and amazing in texture. The rotis were beautiful - small, even, well-cooked, soft and well-buttered, served fresh and piping hot. The bhakhris were hot and crispy, perfectly made. <br/><br/>The only drawback - a noisy, stuffed interior. The buffet is overpriced as well, at 300 bucks per head, so you need a really healthy appetite to make the most of the enormous amount they charge.<br/><br/>Plus, the smiling fellow who helps you wash your hands with warm water in the mobile oriental wash basin makes me feel embarrassed on account of the colonial vestiges it represents.

A Gujarati Thali restaurant and quite popular among the local people. The food and ambiance both the decent. Nothing is exceptional about it place. I personally prefer Mandap' restaurant over it.

Quite a decent place for thali. Located in a quiet lil bylane this place is the busiest and crowded. Waiting was almost an hour. But the staff is very good .....helped us to get a table asap as we were in a hurry to leave the city to drive back to bbay. The food was nice and piping hot. The varieties n tastes were quite good. The crowd was a mix culture.....we had a south Indian fly to our left, a Maharashtrian fly to our rgt and another sindhi fly on a nearby table so the food is probably suitable for all. Not all of it is too authentically gujurati but it's really good. Neat n clean place which serves good food.

Had the Gujarati Thali here while traveling in Vadodara, and I was quite happy. The dal is sweet, which is normal in Gujarat and chapatis small - but the food is tasty and staff is nice. The Khichdi I must say was finger licking good!! 👍😍 Would reccomend anybody coming to Gujarat eating a thali here, its a must.

Was in Baroda for two days. This place is a little inside of the main roads but being very old it is well know to everyone. Slightly dark interiors for a family restaurant. Tried the Gujarati Thali,  the food is great and heavy. Was not really able to eat much but managed to taste everything. Good starters, bhakri and choice of vegetables.

A good place to have a Gujarati Thali! Go there for the lunch, as in the evening its in a traffic prone area! Ask about the deserts on the day before going, in case you have preferences!

It's a feast for people wanting to taste gujarati food. I have thoroughly enjoyed the lavish spread. Very tasty. Ki ho was very good. Chacch was just too amazing. Go for it guys.

Wanna introduce someone to Gujarati food, get them to sample a typical gujju thali as served at Aamantran. Farsan, kathod, bhakri, khichdi and my fav kadi with a dash of sugar. Call to check the day's menu. We had pooran poli on our last visit. Be warned everything on your plate will be a little sweet but tasty an very filling. Granted you don't always expect fruit custard with a thali...but it goes down well as does the buttermilk laced with sanchar. Not the cheapest thali place in baroda but quality food especially recommended if your entertaining guests.

The Gujarati thali is awesome....tasty, perfect. I would suggest 10 points for food, but deducting 2 points only for the staff. Managing customers is not good. There are bit loud in calling their own staff, and making other customers a bit annoyed.

You can easily have waiting upto 30.mins on a sunday or festival day with this being purely a family kind of place... Amantran serves the best fixed thali in an appropriate range. For gujarati food I recommend this as no 1... It's ultimately a delicious food in the end...!!!!

I and my friend were new to this city and were staying in a place right in front of Aamantran. Since we were already tired of the day's work and too lazy to even think about going somewhere else, we decided to try this place out.<br/><br/>Aamantran is a neat place with pretty much good ambience. I tried Gujarati thali. The food was just alright and every item was sweet which I guess is the style of Gujarat cuisine. The service was prompt and nice. Value for money? Yes, it is. <br/><br/>There's nothing exactly to complain about but nothing exactly special that makes this place stand out. My rating is solely on the ambience and service part as I found the food just ok. Good place. I love it more then Rasthal not too noisy and bit cozy. Also gets you hot water at ur table and a bowl to wash hands unlike Rasthal. I love the thali taste too. I rate it above Rasthal any day. Better ambience then Rasthal. Service at times is poor. Takes several minutes to serve dessert or farsan. Rest all is great. Can be visited with family.
