Review Shree Krishna Restaurant - Vadodara

VPS
One of the oldest shops of Vadodara serving traditional Gujrati breakfast. The taste of the Poha , Sev Khamani and Sabudana Vada was absolutely amazing . The yellow chutney was a super accompaniment and taste enhancer . The methi Bhaji was average in taste . The jalebi was super crispy and neatly fried , the Chaas was minimalistic in taste. The service is little bit lazy The satisfaction is 100% guaranteed after you come out with the restaurant with your stomach full with that typical gujrati nashta . The ambience is minimalistic and the focus is on quality of the items they serve . The rates are superbly reasonable. Tourists should try this place when they visit Vadodara . A place worth revisiting .

Sitting capacity of hall is around 35 people..most of the time, hall is packed to it's capacity... earlier it used to be v hot and uncomfortable but now when I visited ( Aug 2023) they hv installed AC...so it was comfortable sitting there. Tasty food, reasonably priced.. quick service.. Try Sev usal, Puri bhaji, chaat..šŸ‘ Car parking space is limited.. so better to park the car- opposite side of the restaurant or the side lanes. Krishna will never leave u unsatisfied in terms of its food taste n service.

This restaurant is famous for its Chatako , Undhiyu and Jalebi. There are different varieties of Se Usals and that too served without bun. Must try.

Perfect place for breakfast if you are looking to have proper gujarati breakfast. If you like spicy and tangy food, Chatako is a must have. The jalebi here are really crispy and thin. I would not recommend poha here.

Hello, I wanted to post this review as thank you to the owner of this restaurant- KRISHNA situated at Gf 2, D'MART, SILVER HOUSE, Old Padra Rd, opp. GEB SCHOOL, near AKOTA, Punit Nagar, Akota, Vadodara, Gujarat 390020. Last week I had forgotten my bag with very important papers and sports equipment/racket inside. After realizing that the bag is lost, I tried to retrace my steps but couldnā€™t find it anywhere. One of the places I had been to was KRISHAN RESTAURANT a very famous place for delicious breakfast since last 70 years. I had lost all hope. To my surprise, the owner had found my bag and was able to contact me by asking the right questions and bringing my belongings back to me. Truly there is a lot of goodness in peopleā€™s heart and they/he proved it. Thanks once again.

Our second experience here and what a fabulous restaurant this is. Finally we have got a place where we can enjoy an early breakfast in a proper sit-down setting with delicious and economical food. The biggest find for me is Chhole Bhathure, which resemble the Delhi CBs, the ones I miss the most here in Vadodara! We are definitely gonna be regulars here.

Kopra Kachori (Kopra Pettis) is my favorite and here I found it after long time. I gone to various other old places in old Vadodara city but unable to find it. Thanks šŸ˜Š

Well I was hungry and looking for farali dishes as I had fast..... Looked for sabudana khichadi on Google and the name appeared Shree Krishna Restaurant...... I reached there and the farali sabudana khichadi, sabudana vada were over. So they just had farali chevdo... So I ordered farali chevdo ..... I order a mixed plate of sweet and spicy farali chevdo ( image shared), it was fantastic, good enough to satisfy my taste buds. Ambience is good, Service is fast Others itnes served are jalebi, Kanda methi palak batata vada, Sev USAL, Poha, samosa, sev khamni among others..... Eager to eat these as well, but next time. The restaurant is quite economical.

This is one of the few places which is open early morning for breakfast. They have options for poha, vada, sabudana khichdi, etc. They have vada usal, which was a new thing for me. It was a bit spicy for my taste.

New branch which is at cow circle is not good no proper service taste was same but the new items which were added like Puri baji and all were taste less. But the old one which is located at pathergate is the best. Old is gold.

Ambience - 3.5/5Ā Food - 5/5 Service - 4/5 VFM - 5/5 Parking - Yes

We went to Sri Krishna for breakfast after a long drive. The place was not too crowded and we immediately got a table. Ambience was friendly and bright. The waiter immediately brought us our first order, ofĀ Bataka Poha. Lemon pieces were given separately, which we immediately squeezed on to the Poha for that extra zing! Wonderful start to the proceedings.
Next up were the fried trio - Patra, Bataka Vada and Bhajiya Usal.
Patra is spiced rolls of arbi ke patte that is cut and deep fried, and happens to be one of my favourite dishes. Reminds me of my childhood days whenever I have this dish
The bataka vada was well made and served with chutney and without the paav as in Mumbai.
Next up was Bhajiya Usal, fried dumplings in sprout curry or Usal. Again, without the paav that is typical of Mumbai. A variation of this is when the bhajiya is replaced with sev, called Sev Usal or Misal in Maharashtra.
Finally we had the Sev Khamani, which was by far the best dish of the meal. Soft daal khamani topped with crisp sev and served with a delicious chutney.
The meal was wrapped up with crisp Jalebis and hot tea.
Service was quick and I wont hesitate recommending this place was a wonderful Gujarati breakfast!

Best Gujarati snack food in Vadodara. Sev usal and Bhajiya usal is the best. Their old Restaurant is in City area and its since 1956. Everyone should visit this place. Highly recommended

The best thing about this place is, Owners live their days in Kitchen to make sure customers get quality and hot food. Owners are very polite to their every customer. Chatako, Jalebi, Samosa Chaat and Chhole Puri are best in town here. Best Jalebi you get in town is right here. It is highly recommended as it's made in Ghee and they use pure Kesar in it.
Dhaval Merchant
The quality, quantity and the attitude has gone down below 1 star rating.
The worst management.
Not at all recommended place.
Food taste was below average.

Shree Krishna Restaurant is a place that you should not miss out. It's been here since 1956, 6 decades old. It is the 4th Generation running this Restaurant. The quality that is being served here is absolutely amazing. Their Jalebi is famous all over. I myself love this place and do regularly visit here often in early mornings
Rajesh Damor
This place is quite upscale in terms of quality food offered. If you are a fan of Gujarati food, then this is your go to place. It's a family Restaurant and opens up early in the morning by 8am. Samosa Chaat,Bhajiya Usual , Chatako and Jalebi are hight recommended. If you are in Vadodara,You should surely not miss this place out
Anoushka Jolly

Worst food ever I have experienced in Vadodara
plus ridiculous behaviour by the owner while complaining about his food quality
we ordered chole puri and it is steal by test however owner denied to accept his negligency
further while asking to deduct amount of the chole puri from total bill the owner spoken bad words to me and my father as well.so this is not acceptable at all.
plus while looking into restaurant kitchen there is no care taken for food. Everything was open ridiculous.
So I request to people of vadodara to boycott this restaurant
Also request to FSSAI Dept to visit and check food quality of Shree Krishna Restaurant

Tasty and authentic food. The most recommended dishes to try out are:

1.Bhajiya Usal
2.Samosa
3.Sabudana khichdi
4.Sev Usal

It was a bit surprising to when Sev Usal was served without bread however the taste conquered it all.
Alap Thakkar

The taste is good.. however the quantity is too less....also there are no accomplishment to sabudana khichdi or any other item except the samosa...this I thought was unusual...so the item were too dry to eat

Vipul Ramaiya
Went out for breakfast yesterday, ordered bhajiya, sev usal and a couple of plates poha. Bhajiya was ok, sev usal was served without bread or bun (bread not available even if u ask for it) and was too spicy, poha was pretty bland. We've had much better elsewhere, made for a pretty forgettable outing. Would not visit again.. :(

A branch in the suburbs of the age old famous restaurant of the old city. Typical Gujarati breakfast is served here.

Comfortable seating space and friendly waiters. Prompt delivery of orders.

We had the typical fare, sev khamni, bhajiya usal, batata vada and poha. Everything is on the sweeter side but quite good. Hot batata vadas are made to order if you go around 8 - 8 30 in the morning.

We topped it off with fresh jalebis. Would like to try out their chatako next time.
Jay Patel
Best option for morning breakfast and munchies variety of gujarati items available chatako is evergreenā¤ļø and other items are also good, quick service except on festive seasons.

This is relatively new branch of the age old Shree Krishna Restaurant, Madanzampa that exists from 1956.

The restaurant remains largely occupied during mornings, especially on week-ends for its local breakfast dishes.

Our groups of 6 tried Sev Usal, Bhajia Usal, Chatako, Bataka Poha, Sev Khamani, Sabudana Khichdi and Jalebi.

Sev Usal and Bhajia Usal are cousine dishes with one topped with sev while the other is served with bhajia. Spicy as usual and capable to heat up your entire body.

Chatako, one of the most famous dish of the restaurant, is a dish of patra in spicy gravy. Although famous, I didā€™t appreciate it as much as I appreciate Sev-Usal or Bhajia-Usal.

Bataka Poha, Sev Khamani and Sabudana Khichdi requires no introduction. These dishes are more house-hold than they are street-food. None of them disappoint us.

Ambiance is canteen like and equally noisy. Service depends on readiness of food. Super quick for some dishes while you may have to wait for ages to get some. These are not unexpected given how these restaurant operates and the great value-for-money-food it brings.

In all, a good place to spend a light morning with friends and family over local breakfast dishes.
Mayuri
We visited this place on a sunday around 4 pm. Tasted many items from the menu. Dahiwada, sev khamani and methi bhajiya were good. Sev usal was spicy but they do not provide any bread or pav along with it to ease the fieriness. Poha had a dalchini flavour so did not really like it much. Overall good place for occassional snacking.
