New location is fantastic, on the Siolim Road, just before Anand Seafood Restaurant...surrounded by Rice Paddy fields...food is excellent and happy they are opened again...keep it up Richard...awesome
Would come back for the good food, the green jungle growing within and around and always for Richard. Seen this place flower in the last 6 years. Magic.
My wife and I went to lunch today as guests of Richard the owner. The curries, fish and prawns and cooked vegetables were perfectly made. The ambiance was very warm and inviting and a real Goan experience. We loved the company of the dogs and cats on the premises- Jonathan and Walima, Ontario, Canada.
Fish thali was awesome, veg thali was nice as well. Nice and different place to visit. Do carry cash as they don't accept cards. Nice and friendly staff.
Peaceful place. When we visit goa always go for Sri without fail. All friend's favourite place. Tried almost all dishes here. Natural resources are very well utilised for making this place happening.
This place truly reflects the essence and reason of Goa's existence.Laidback and rustic. Gives you the purpose of a holiday. Booked a 4 star hotel nearby but ended up spending most of my time amongst these friendly folks including the mute friends, cats and dogs, gorging on sea food not bothered about the time or the relative technology that consumes most of our real world time. Must do.
Mohita Bhimsaria
This place is surrounded by greenery & cool atmosphere. inside the restaurant it just gives you cool vibes & the food here is too good especially the fish curry & the pan fried fish is the top
Awesome ambience, smoothies are really great and the sitting area has some amazing paintings and antiques, service was little slow even though there were very few people at restaurant.
Food : 4.0
Ambience : 5.0
Service : 4.0
Lovely thali, very warm hosts, very cute cats and dogs for friends, and there's a ping pong table. In case you prefer lacto-vegetarian food, they have some really tasty options
Sri vagator has a really classical eco feeling to it.
You have cosy couches to sit on, they have cats and dogs all over the place, table tennis table as well.
If pets bother you, you might be adivced to not come here (the couple's sitting beside us literally shouted at the staff for it. So if you don't peffer kittens around you much then you might wanna reconsider.)
Must haves here:
Prawns with spicy chilly gravy (these were simply amazing. The gravy was rich with tomatoes and spices. The prawns were cooked perfectly. )
Goan curry Thali (served decadently with fried fish, rich coconut spicy curry on the side along with salad, kolam, steamed rice and veggies. Enough to fill a hungry belly and so so delicious.)
Fish curry (also served like a full spread Thali, generous portions and so filling. The fish was cooked and seasoned to perfection.)
Anda curry (probably one of the best in Goa. Rich, spicy, the curry was also rich with egg fat. Everything sings in perfect harmony in this dish.)
Paneer lababdar (a great blend of spices with a rich cumin flavour. Paneer was moist, the chunky vegetables added another texture.)
The only problem was the roti. It was too hard after a while. But they are definitely masters of curries.
Nutella pancakes (more like a crepe of course, but it was delicious. The coating was generous. I would had liked a little sprinkling of powdered sugar. But otherwise great crepe.)
Apple pie (the better dessert. Perfectly cooked apples, holding their shape and texture in a perfect pie pastry. Served with vanilla on top. The cinnamon flavour is easily distinguishable. This dessert is just perfect warm treat to your body.)
Masala chai (pretty decent chai. Could have been better though.)
Sir is highly underappreciated restaurant. We had so many things and almost all of them were perfect.
Ambience (5/5) I like pets a lot so they didn't bother me much. They have few indoor games.
Value for money (4/5) we were chanrged 3500 for the above dishes.
Service (4/5)
This is not your usual restaurant that's all modern and tech savvy. It's quite a beautiful find and an even greater experience if you wish to be one with nature. They have lots of their own pets who are walking around you and seating inside a garden area. Their food is delicious and their 'Other' section even more. We tried their ginger lemon, coconut milk with cardamom, and mango with aloe Vera. Loved the first 2 but the third was a little bitter for my taste. Then again, it's natural flavours so healthy! Had their fried aubergine which is a must try. Their food is fresh and healthy. Delicious too! The owner is a kind man who is trying his best to keep nature alive around him. Hats off to his effort and I wish him immense success.
We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. First about Ambiance. If you are a nature lover and don't mind sitting along with dogs and cats then you are going to love it. It’s a garden restaurant with pets ( all neat and clean). Tables are setup with ample amount of distance. Some of tables have complete privacy. A section of restaurant is with roof. Live flute was adding romance to the ambiance.
Coming to food:
We ordered squid ( I forgot the name) as starter. It came along with pav. Taste was nice. Portion was alright. Not too big which gives you chance to try something else.
Main we ordered Crab sukkha. Crab was served with rice, daal, sabzi and chutney. It was good. Portion are sufficient for two to share.
Desserts: we ordered Tiramisu. Really well done.
Over all good experience. However since my wife is scared of pets, she had a tough time. Since the cat (little one) would wait for a chance to snatch something out of your table. After sometime it became annoying as we were not able to relax. Constantly one has to watch their plate.
Staff was helpful to keep them away.
We had a great experience.
One of the best places for breakfast and the ambience is so peaceful and nice.
Must try :
Omlettes
Tea
(We went here for breakfast so couldn't explore the other meals, but will definitely do that next time)
Ambience is the best. Near to the ozran beach. They have made the place so beautiful and green. The food is yummy and worth the price. If you are ready to try the authentic goan cuisine this is a definite choice.
Best local food we had in Goa in the Vagator area. The food is delicious and portions are big.
The restaurant is in a Haseeb so take mosquito repellent as there are lot of them there
Whenever I visit this place, everytime it gets better and amazing. The food quality is super and so are the staff. A suggestion- the breakfast section should include a lot more options. A slight change in the menu will defo add more value to this peaceful and relaxing place.
The veg.thali I had was excellent. It contained a fairly big Roti, two veggies freshly cooked, dal, rice, papad, chutney, yogurt and fruit salad. An excellent thali, probably the best thali I,'ve had in Vagator. The place is beautiful, with greenery all around, nice music playing.Impressive place, although a bit pricey.
Awesome food and ambience :) You can always be there after a visit to Chapora Fort or Vagator beach. Foods to try- Prawn Vindalo, Goan Fish Curry.
This place is calm and quiet and beautiful where you find the serenity as flowers all around the area... really need to try this again... so cool
Beautifully decorated....The food was average, but quantity was well enough! Live music,TT table...Drinks available. They have a lot of pets..
This for me is one of the best restaurant in Goa...basis majorly on few observations..
1. The quality is amazing
2. The quantity is extremely generous
3. It will serve anything on the menu even around 4PM when other regular restaurants are closed (not considering the high end restaurant here)
They do have a vast menu but seeing allu puri we cud not resist the tempatation to have somethng like this on the beach side (fantasy)..
Finally ordered the same with roti's considering the fact that puri's would be of smaller size..however it was of a size equivallent to bhatura..novertheless we managed go finish that..alaong with a perfect sweet and salt mix lemonade
Decent place with secluded ambience. Jao aur baith jao... Aaram se khao gappe maro.. It's a place where you can go and eat peacefully. Baba Ganush was yummy and the garlic roti served with mix veg made my eve..
This was our 2nd choice in Vagator after we couldn't find a table in a more well-known place.. but it turned out to be a good decision from all aspects. This is a not-so-fancy quiet place run by people who very well know their food. The service was quick, drinks were available, food was served hot and tasty and music complemented everything else.. exactly what you need when you have butterflies in the stomach!!
This place serves Goan flavoured everything. I loved the ambience and i loved the service.
Their cheesy fries are honey chili fries are something really different and good! Their roti and curry is fantastic. Had their malai kofta and mutter panneer.
Do stop by for some good food!
Rating this place 5 because of where is located and the ambience. This is one place I'll keep coming to. The music is trippy and makes you feel out of the world. Food is just too good. The furniture makes you want to relax (you can actually lay down and order your food). Mussels, jacket potatoes and the prawn cocktail are a must try. Make sure you at least visit this place once if you're in goa.
Again no pics... Lost my cell on the first day and after that things kept happening with my cell.
Something is different about this place. There r hard core fans of this place e.g. My nephew. He claims to have even slept the night here.
Lord Shiva welcomes you as u enter the place. The calm n peace that you feel here is absolutely astounding. The owner and chef Richard is a wonderful person and u r welcome to enter his kitchen and help him cut, clean and cook too...
Red snapper in Mushroom sauce- fabulous fresh fish. Delicate flavours. I was in the kitchen when he was making it. Enjoyed the experience.
Had few more things but frankly I'm blank about them
---------
My point- visit at ur leisure. In fact a perfect place if u wanna work too. Quiet place with no one to disturb u for hours together
Best best place... Do not miss this.. i personally loved the savory pan and the cheese toast for breakfast and the classic Goan fish curry for lunch 😍 #yummylicious
One the best place in goa for a meal. Don't miss out on this place. Its like a temple converted into a restaurant . Loved the food and beverage over here. Chocolate pancake is a must try here.
Take my word and go for it.
Recommended for anyone who is looking at a laid back experience.
Another 5! Been here before Zomato did not exist! It's still in prime condition. You will like the fact it's laid back and not pretentious. The food and in particular fish cakes are great. The live music is playing today and it's really my scene. Do not give this place a miss.
I LOVED this place ! The garden, the air, the cats, the food ! There wasn't one thing wrong ... You can go there for breakfast , grab a book and spend a nice lazy afternoon there...
Loved this place. The food, ambience, service. Everything was awesome ! The owner made sure every customer was well taken care of and happy with the order. Definitely will go back here !
I stayed at this restaurant cum homestay for a week when I was in goa last month. It's a beautiful, set amidst nature kind of a property and the owner of the hotel Richard is a sweet chap. Their cheese chilly toast, baked beans on toast with omelette is really good. Their fish and chicken preparations are yummy. It's a hidden gem located next to thalassa in Vagator.
A unique setting on the quiet hill side of Vagator, Goa, Sri comes as a highly recommended breakfast spot by many. We headed over early morning on one of our quarterly breaks to Goa, and found ourselves in a cosy spot in this restaurant, the only customers this early in the morning.
Sri at first will remind you of a large colonial bungalow that has been converted to a commercial space. The large kitchen area and courtyard definitely seem to suggest so. Plants of all varieties, both local and exotic, adorn the place. This popular spot boasts of a big shaded courtyard covered in thick green foliage that acts as a great camouflage and makes it impossible to spot from a distance.
We ordered for a basic breakfast – a roasted paneer salad, French Toast, coffee, milkshake and scrambled egg (with toast.) While the coffee, eggs and milkshake were the standard yummers kinds, the roasted paneer salad and French Toast caught my fancy. A salad for breakfast seemed like a bad idea, but since it came highly recommended by a few friends, we decided to give it a try. The decision was totally worth it :) My favorite though was the French Toast and Scrambled Egg combination because the combination of flavours exploded in the mouth to give something absolutely exotic. The French Toast came with sprinkled cinnamon which earned them brownie points.
The location, high on a hilltop, is superb, and the restaurant is an absolute delight with it’s large courtyard, green, clean and fresh décor and attentive service. I’ll definitely keep this on my list the next time I’m in Goa. You should too :)
A place to chill and enjoy fantastic food.. you can sit and read or just listen to the relaxing music.. hummus, avacado salad, Dum ALU are all must haves.. if you like to relax..this is the place for u..
Owner will make sure that you get divine food . Awesome place 5/5 for ambience..calm,relaxed in midst of trees. Food is also delicious we tried fish with caferial which was simply mouthwatering.
Must visit place in Goa.
All my points go to the yummy Crab dish that we ordered. It was perfectly made and presented well. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The ambience is very nice but for the different kinds of flies/insects that are a bit disturbing, but that comes as part of having so much greenery. I would definitely recommend people to go to this place and would go myself when in Goa again.
One of the most unique restaurants I have ever visited. You feel like you are eating inside a garden and the seating with large cots and comfy chairs are awesome. One thing I didn't like is that there are lots of kittens who although are very cute doesn't necessarily make it a very hygienic place. Two or three dogs are also there .So if you are afraid of these like my Friend then this is not the place for you.
The menu is seafood and vegetarian only .No chicken .Fish cake and the Goan fish curry ,which turned out to be a huge platter of fish curry rice ,fried fish etc were the highlights. Don't think about trying jacket potatoes though . Under cooked and tasteless.A must try restaurant if you want to have an authentic Goan meal.
Ambiance: 5

We had reached Vagator in search of Zaffran, after reading all the excellent reviews on Zomato. However, once we reached there, it was closed and we were told that it would open only in October. Sadly, we had to return without visiting the place. On our way back we Zomato-ed the options, we come across this place called Sri. We were sceptical of trying it out because of the name, however, due to good ratings on Zomato, we thought of giving this place a shot.
Before entering this place also, we again gave it second thought, but than we went ahead to try the restaurant. As we enter, we were welcomed with a big Shiva statue. However, we were surprised that the place of absolutely empty, except for the people owning it and working there.
INTERIORS / EXTERIORS: After being welcomed by a big Shiva statue, there was a big Buddha statue inside. The place was huge and surrounded by greenery everywhere. It was absolute bliss. They have an expansive seating with tables placed out pretty well so as to accommodate a lot of people and at the same time not getting cramped. They also have a kind of heightened Indian seating, with small tables to keep the plates and food. The walls are decorated with Shiva paintings and it gives you a feel of going into Trance at once.
MUSIC: Music was the highlight of the evening. They played some really great tracks. The Goa Trance was excellent. We in fact wanted to buy a CD from there, but they said that it was being played on YouTube and he also gave me the name of the Channel, which unfortunately I had not noted down and later on I forgot the name. :(
SERVICE: Great service. We were greeted very warmly and with a smile. The server was extremely gracious and gave us all the right inputs for opting to eat.
FOOD: Though it is mainly famous for its Non-Vegetarian food, they had an expansive menu for Vegetarian dishes too, and we certainly were spoilt for choices. We ordered Mix Vegetable, Paneer Curry, Dal Tadka, Rotis, Buttermilk, Papads, Fresh Lime Soda, etc. Each and everything was just plan delicious, especially the Butter Garlic Chappati. It was superb. Never had better Garlic Chappati.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Excellent, to say the least. In the hindsight, it was a very wise decision that we went in Sri for our dinner and our good fortune that Zaffran was closed, else we would never have tried and located this hidden gem. Excellent Ambiance, Great Music and Overly Satisfying Food sums up Sri for us. Next time in Goa and this is a must visit.
I am a health freak and vegetarian
This was just the place for me
Superb vegetables ; avocado salad ; raw vegetables with hummus ; vegetable sizzler .
Steamed spinach .
My husband had the seafood also very clean and tasty .
Superb ambience . Very peaceful .
So Cameo Serrao and me happened to visit this place not once, not twice but thrice.
The location of this restaurant is beautiful, the serenity is a feast to the eyes.
Day 1: we ordered prawn crackers, mussels in white wine and prawn cocktail
Day 2: we ordered spicy calamari and mussels is white wine
Day 3: we ordered spicy prawn in jacket potatoes, fish chilly and tuna & mayonnaise in jacket potatoes.
This is a place when the food keeps you coming back. This place is surrounded by greenery, close to nature and you can hear a lot of birds chirping.
This place has 4 dogs, 2 cats and 2 puppies ( that's what I saw when I was here).
The food is spot on, the warm decor and trance music in the background will make you want to come here more than once.
The table are huge and spacious, there are beds where you can actually lay down and relax while your food arrives. Definitely worth the money. If in Goa, please visit :)
Great ambience, if tried while raining. Boasts plush green scape, idols of Buddha and painted maps of Shiva, greeted us.
We went with chilly prawn, which in was delicately spiced, had a slight curry base, with yellow and red peppers. Then came the prawn vindaloo that was well spiced but still delicate on the stomach. This was something unique I tasted for a while. This comes accompanied with regular rice, and 2 vegetarian curries. I liked the entire dish. Then comes the egg fried rice which tasted as it should do. Well, we were full by the end of it, had no room for desserts.
Order based on your apetite, don't wait for someone to help you with the seating, carry cash as cards are not accepted. The staff was humble enough to offer us towels.
This cozy place, on the way to Vagator beach is a pleasant surprise. A welcoming, Shiva inspired place with lovely food, warm staff and a compassionate owner who has given shelter to stray doggies and kitties. You would love spending time there, while you make new furry friends.
What a place!!! Beautiful and calm ambience. As soon as you enter you can feel your body relaxing. Food is delicious and amazingly light on your stomach. Staff is very friendly too. Can't wait to visit this place again :)
This very serene and calm place has some of the best food and ambience I'll have ever experienced. Been here multiple times and highly recommend the hummus and garlic bread! Must visit if you are in Goa!
Awesome ambience amd equally good food.. we went there for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the mood that was created by the earthen theme decor, lighting, laid back feeling and awesome live music.. we tried Lasagne wid white mushroom sauce which was served with salad.. both were awesome. we also tried fish chilli fry which had typical goan touch. Although not a natural adaption for me but still d taste was good.. Overall, a very nice place which warrants some more visits..
This is a Vagator Surprise
Review what's good
- food quality is great and quite a few local options
- nice tranquil ambience for a relaxed lunch or dinner
- service is personal and attentive
- cost is in line with what's published by the restaurant
Here the food tastes as if it's made at home. So if you are yearning to have tasty homely food this one can't be missed. The atmosphere and ambience also is very homely. The guy who owns the restaurant takes your orders and is very cheerful.
Really nice ambience and food was lip smacking. It's a very peaceful place. Not too heavy on pocket as well. Must try whenever you are in Goa.
This place captures the soul of Goa . Richard - the owner personally oversees complete food and operation with a team of very happy and passionate staff who loves to go out of their way and provide utmost hospitality to all their guests . The fish , the fresh produce . The salads are all a must try . Perfect vibe and, fresh cooked food and a atmosphere that is so peaceful - very very Goa
Absolutely amazing ambiance, sitting is comfortable and the staff delightful. We came here for breakfast and glad we did. Brilliant indian fusion music was playing at the back and my friends and I were totally catapulted to a different zone. We ordered Mushroom Pancake, Nutella Toast with Mushroom Omelette, Baked Beans on Toast and Fried Eggs on toast. The food was tasty and I must not too expensive. One of the best places to have your breakfast and other forms of food in Anjuna.
Oh yes, there's a lot of Cats and Dogs who live in harmony is this place. Make sure you pet them both.
Ritika Taneja and I demolished a crab here and we loved it!
One rainy night we landed up in this hidden gem in Goa. We were recommended to this place by our lovely hosts at Chikoo House, Vagator. They were bang on correct about the food here. To start with the place - it is one of those usual trippy cafes that you can expect to find in Goa. it has a semi open seating with sofa beds and beds - yes beds where you can lie down while you wait for your food.
We ordered our usual cocktails with some prawn starters. The prawns were really good but the crab that we ordered for the main course was so good that we completely forgot what we had for starters. Beat that! The crab meat was so so soft that you just couldn't stop. One should definitely visit this place and order the crabs - and if you haven't had crabs ever as a delicious forewarning please be prepared to spend a couple of hours. :)
Amazing service and food! The king prawns in white sauce and fish curry rice and calamari in tomato sauce were to die for! Rates were also very reasonable.. We had all of this for just 3k! Will definitely visit again..
Hands down one of the best places in Goa to peace out... The staff is always smiling...all the animals (cats, dogs and ducks - quack and quack quack) are too cute and when it comes to the food - its to die for ( baba ganoush, avocado mousse, cheese mushroom omelettes...I could list their entire menu here) the food is clean and the garden among which the Sri is seated is beautifully curated...They make delicious milkshakes and juices from the fruits plucked off the plants...The owner Richard is always smiling and his daughter Radha is absolutely adorable....
Awesome place to chill in Vagator, Goa. Great food and service. Great ambiance. One of the best place to relax in Goa. Also a must visit in Goa.
I would call Sri a Goan Continental restaurant. Dont really know who inspired the cuisine but i do know that the name Sri - is insipried by all the hotels restaurants cafes in India which have a sri before their name - this is plain simple sri. Lazy laid back place with a pretty garden a an Idol of Lord Shiva welcoming you. Sri does not serve chicken / mutton / meat but serves some of the freshest fish. Its a seafood / fish and veg restaurant. Dont be suprised if you bump into Akshay / Twinkle at sri - some say its their fav place in Goa. The food is awesome. Try prawn peri peri. Squids fry. Salads are full value as well. Very chillout place. Good music scene as well.
Love most everything ive had here, esp Pumpkin Casserole, steamed spinach, potato pancake and steamed pumpkin. They also make a perfect Khandha Poha. Setting and seating are superb and the wait staff are very sweet. I love the way they have arranged seats so there are many nooks and crannies for different atmospheres and privacy levels. Food is a bit pricey but quality is high. The garden landscaping is exceptional even in Goa which is full of nice gardens. Recommend. **I will add, if you dislike animals don't come. There are maybe a dozen dogs and puppies, plus kittens and even two ducks living here. **
Sri can easily be added to the category of "Hidden Gems". On the same road that leads to Thalasa, ambiance is beautiful and calming, with live Indian music, dim lighting and really comfortable seating. Their food is easily one of the best and most underrated in Goa. Try the Prawn Xacuti and the Fish Curry mains. Really helpful staff and great service!
The moment you enter this place , u will fall in love with the ambience with Shiva and Buddha welcoming you at the entrance. The entire place is lit with dim lights and has a forestry feel.
The staff here is very helpful, smiling and kind all the time.
They have dogs who will keep roaming around the table.
They also have live music until 9ish I guess.
We ordered some hot tomato and basil soup which was tym followed by a veg thali which was again fresh and tasty. The thali costs 250 rs but was worth it. They also gave us an extra serving of dal and roti without extra cost.
Must try this place at vagator for a nice and peaceful dinner.Sarvotam Pai

To put it short. Great ambience. Great food. Great hospitality.
Was here with a bunch of friends and really had a great time. The ambience is great and the staff is really friendly. Their fish thali is the best on a hungry day. Strongly recommended place in anjuna/vagator.
If you're there in the evening, it isn't so much about what you eat or drink. Having said that, I thought the white sauce pasta I ordered was fairly good. Go there for the trippy vibe, cute little ducks quaking around the place and a very psychedelic experience.
Excellent off the beaten path spot for traditional southern Indian breakfast. Laid back outdoor shack overlooking the rice paddies. Service was top notch and attentive. The Kanda Poha and Dosa were spot on. Washed down with masala chai and Turkish coffee. Make sure you ask for the chutneys which aren’t on the menu. 10/10 would make this my regular breakfast spot if I was local.
The food is really amazing! Very budget friendly place to chill. “You don’t get chicken here”. Only vegetarian and sea food options are available which is well cooked. The host is really friendly. The vibe of the people, host and the place is very peaceful.
Alcohol 🍻🥃 prices are also reasonable when compared to shacks. The washroom is also very clean and tidy.
I like visiting this place cz of that garden n peace calm environment n it's pet friendly too... Fish cakes u must have that's delicious😋
Please ask for Richard...he owns this place one of the kindest humans come across. Food is awesome and so is the hospitality. If in north goa dnt miss this place. For bf u can go for Spanish omelet...along with avocado toast. Cheers Richard your humble nature is a magnet.
I loved the options they provided with seating - mattress style, or table/chairs. Very helpful owner. Unique take on a lot of common dishes. Great vegetarian and vegan options too! My personal favourite was the fish caldin!
Heard about Sri from a friend. A laid back garden restaurant with thatched roof which will be cool even during a hot day. Very quick service and well stocked bar. The Jacket Potatoes with Prawns and desserts were excellent. The crab soup had lots of crab in shell, but didn't taste of crabs. In general the cooking is I guess continental touch- bland, definitely not spicy.
If you want to eat clean and home made like tasty food this is the place to go for. The ambience is so super greeny, I just loved this. Richard and the people working there are super supportive. Just go there and sit and you will feel the piece. Price wise also it's reasonable. Thank you Richard.
Sri Restaurant reminds me of how Goa was a decade ago- simple, unpretentious, and non-commercial, with roots dug deep in the local culture. The food is delicious and its owner & host- Richard- is friendly and welcoming. A must-visit for local and international travellers for a true taste of Goa.
Great food and very friendly staff. This places is how I would imagine Zen buddhist monks to live - in harmony with nature and respect and care for the animals. They support many dogs and cats and take loving care of them. I hope it inspires many of us to take care of our environment similarly.
This is not your usual restaurant that's all modern and tech savvy. It's quite a beautiful find and an even greater experience if you wish to be one with nature.
