Review Kashi Chat Bhandar - Varanasi

Shobha Singh (busybee)
Loved the chat. Its justifies the hype. Pocket pinch will be bit on higher side but the chat is just so so good. Situated at main road, this place was is bit crowded so you may end up in a long queue However service is quick. They should think of expanding the outlet. If you are planning to visit Varanasi, do visit this place.

A Veet famous but crowded shop for different types of chats. People are blocking the whole road and waiting for their turn. Papdi chat, alu chat, dahi wada are good. Panipuri and tamatar chat are not good. Ice cream is ok type. It's very difficult to eat on the road side. So, better to wait for some time to get a seat. Hygiene is average. a person bringing the food also cleans the table with a dirty cloth.

Kashi chaat bhandar is one of the most famous chaat bhandar. The timing is 1:00 pm to 10:30 pm. They have a variety of chaats. We ordered "Samosa chaat, Palak Patta Chaat, Tamatar Chaat, Tikki chaat & Bhalla Chaat". I loved Palak Patta Chaat a lot. All the chaats were very good in taste. Palak patta chaat & Tamatar chaat is the speciality of Banaras/Kashi. The prices are also genuine. Too much of a crowd is always here to have a great taste of their chaats. If you go to Kashi/Banaras, you should go there.

Fantastic experience at Kashi Chat Bhandar! The variety of flavorful chaats is impressive, and the vibrant atmosphere adds to the overall enjoyment. Friendly staff and quick service. A must-visit for chat lovers in the area!
Shivam Chaudhary (Nikz)
The taste of the food is yummy. We tried aloo tikki for rupees 50/- and gulab jamun 2 piece for rupees 50/- only. Staff is nice. I'm attaching photo of menu you can check prices in the list. Recommending to try once. Don't complaint about space because you are in banaras. 😄

It is totally worth its hype. The taste and quality is the best. Must try Tamatar Chat and aloo tikki chaat. Have a nice walk in Banaras street and you will find Kashi Chat Bandhar. It is also easy to locate as it is always crowded. Always carry cash as it makes transactions easy and you can get your chat fast.

K ashi Chat Bhandar is a delightful spot for authentic street food in Varanasi. The flavors here are nothing short of amazing. From their crispy golgappas to the tangy dahi puri, every bite is a burst of taste. The chutneys are especially noteworthy - they add the perfect kick to each dish. The prices are wallet-friendly, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the local food scene. The no-frills setup puts the focus on the delicious food. A great place to satisfy your street food cravings!

Serves the best chaat in Banaras. Taste brings everyone here. It’s always crowded but with the first bite you forget all other factors. Just go and try Tamatar Chaat. Avoid visiting it after Ganga Aarati as it gets too crowded at that time.

If you're a chat lover then Kashi Chat Bhandar is a must visit, and if you aren't then it's all the more important as you'll become one. They serve one of the best chats in the country. The tamatar chat is their invention, but I must say, all the other chats are equally good. We ended the meal with some freshly made gulab jamun - although I found it a little on the sweeter side, I guess that's how the people here prefer. All in all, if you're in Banaras, Kashi Chat Bhandar has to be on the top of your list.

Wow ! taste . You got awesome taste when you have eaten any products like aallo chat palak ,chat papadi ,kulahad chat etc I ate all of these. Good taste . But rush is heavy. You have to wait little bit when you ordered . Impressed by the delightful flavors at the chat shop! From aallo chat to palak chat and chat papadi, each dish showcased awesome taste. The kulhad chat was a personal favorite. While the flavors were worth the wait, the heavy rush did result in a slight wait time for orders. Overall, a tasty experience with a minor inconvenience due to the crowd.

This shop should be a must visit in your itinerary if you are a chat lover!! Tasty food. Fast service. ( time will differ according to your order) Way too crowded. Limited sitting arrangement. Accepts online and cash payments. Affordable rates. Hand wash facility is available. I will suggest one to walk and go since parking is tough to find because of the crowd. It gets a lot crowded after the Ganga aarti so if you want to sit and enjoy your chat I would suggest you to go before hand. Happy Eating!! PS: we had tried samosa chat which was amazing!!

A chat worth visiting and tasting. I visited when they just opened the shop so all items were made just in front of us with the first ingredients. All items are priced appropriately to the dishes provided. The quality is absolutely amazing. And the chats here are very different to what you have in Delhi, Haridwar, Kolkata. The taste here is sweet & sour for all the dishes. I had tried nearly 8 items on the menu and had Gulab jamun at the last which made me fall asleep with my tummy so so happy. Cleanliness and service is nice but, you need to have patience. There is a barrage of people inside and outside waiting for their order, don't be disappointed if it delays but eventually you'll get it. Happy eating 😁🤤.

Affordable, tasty and quick. Worth a stop to try Indian street food. Yet avoid the Pani Puri - as it was cold and stale.
Chaitanya
Had a samosa chat here. Very tasty. Service was quick although the place was super crowded. Go there for best chat experience. For ambience this may not be the place. The prices are very very reasonable

If you're a food enthusiast and haven't yet experienced the flavors of Banras Chat, you're truly missing out on something extraordinary! I recently had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem, and I must say, it has easily become one of my all-time favorite food spots. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of spices and savory delights. The vibrant ambiance and friendly staff immediately made me feel at home. As I glanced at the menu, my taste buds were already tingling with anticipation.

"Experience the enchanting city of "Kashi," rich in Vedic heritage. Indulge in the irresistible delight of "Kashi Chaat Bhandar," where authentic chaat, crafted with love and an array of spices, is served in charming kullads. This delightful treat, accompanied by tangy and sweet chutney, is a mouthwatering sensation and truly the best chaat I've ever savored. Not only are the prices remarkably reasonable, but the quality of service is exceptional. The value for money is unparalleled, and the skilled artisans behind these delectable chaats are not only patient but always wear a welcoming smile. Don't miss the exquisite Tamatar and Palak Patta chaat, complemented perfectly with dahi and imli chutney when you visit Varanasi."

Very very well-known chaat stall. Be aware of the crowd 😂 You have to compete with them to get your order. Of course not too costly and everything taste AMAZING ❤️ if you ever visit Varanasi, you HAVE TO COME HERE ATLEAST ONCE (in the evening).
Sadaf
The taste was amazing but the quantity was too less for the price. And also ordered faaluda kulfi but received Rabri instead.

Best in varanasi. Proper hygeine and sanitization was maintained. Loved the faluda kulfi and tamatar chaat. Worth trying everything in this outlet.

I felt the actual taste of chat here. There varieties will amaze your tongue. Their food will fulfill your craving of roadside street food. Pocket friendly place. You must try tamatar chat, palak patta chat, papdi chat. Gulab jamun and kulfi falooda with dry fruits are worth mentioning. Little crowded due to popularity and amazing taste. Must recommended 👍
The Amateur Foodie
This spot is a couple of meters from a significant intersection and area insightful, it is brilliant.
The group overflows to the road and is most likely the best spot to eat the chaat.
One should be somewhat powerful to get what one needs or, in all likelihood you are elbowed off the beaten path by increasingly forceful visitors.
The tamatar chaat with its delicate consumed flavor is awesome. The aloo tikki is tolerable yet with an awesome kind of asafoetida. The palak chaat is justified, worth all the trouble. The dahi puri is acceptable and has some brilliant dahi.
One could travel a thousand miles for the tamatar chaat ❤️
The golgappas and gulab jamuns are okay, nothing great.

Must try : Tamatar Chat, Palak chat, Dahi puri
Abhishek Singh
Kashi Chat Bhandar is one of the most underrated indian fast food restaurants in Varanasi. It offers various golgappes and sweets as well. A must visit for a foodie visiting the city of lights.

Your visit to Varanasi is incomplete if you miss to visit this place and could not complete the cravings of your street food. Located at one of the prime locations and every local person recommends to eat here. Very crowded due to its popularity and pocket friendly cost. There are many different chats available. I tried Tamatar Chaat, Palat Patta Chaat, Dahi Bhalla, Aloo tikki, paani puri, dahi poori and faluda kulfi (seasonal).

The main highlights were the paani poori, tamatar chaat and aloo tikki. The taste was really amazing and you actually get the feeling of chaat and street food at this place. Must visit place for all the street food lovers.
@tasteofbanarass
This place is near Dhashashwmedh Ghat. I felt the actual taste of chat here. Their varieties of chat will amaze your tongue. You can completely satisfy your street food craving here and is pocket friendly. This place is always crowded because of its popularity and the taste they offer. I tried there
1. Tamatar chat - the tangy flavours mixed with the flavour of desi ghee was beyond imagination.
2. Samosa chat - Crispy, tangy and utterly delicious.
3. Tikki chat - best Tikki chat i ever had. Perfect spicy, tangy and crispy.
Tamatar chat, Dahi puri, gulab jamun is a must try. A little attention to the cleanliness would make it the real treat. Your visit to varanasi would be incomplete without having snacks at this place.
Kashi Chat Bhandar

#LATEPOST

PLEASE DON'T VENTURE OUT UNTILL & UNLESS IT'S AN EMERGENCY - STAY INDOORS & KEEP YOURSELF & EVERYONE AROUND YOU #SAFE 🙏

#Chat is an integral part of #Varanasi or for that matter the whole of North India's cuisine undoubtedly - in my pursuit towards finding the #best chat in the city after quite a few hit and trials - I came across two of them both located within a two minute walking distance at #GodowliaChowk area..

#KashiChatBhandar is one of them - I walked in this almost 200 years old shop which seemed to be always crammed with customers with high expectations but came out a bit disappointed unfortunately - I tried #GulabJamun, #PaaniPuri, #TikkiChat, #PapriChat, ##KulfiFaluda, #ChuraMatar (the worst of the lot - absolutely bland) and all of that was pretty average to say the least except there was one which felt like a saving grace - #PalakPattaChat - something that I came across the first time and fell in love with instantly - it's almost similar to a papri chat except for the fact that the #papris are made with #palak in this case and are crispier in nature.. Every bite was bliss to the tastebuds..

#OnetimeVisit only for the Palak Patta Chaat is what I will recommend - otherwise, you can get far better chats in Delhi & Lucknow - ofcourse - you can shun the rubbish named Paani Puri and come to Kolkata instead for the divine #Phuchka & actual #GulabJamun anyday 😍

#VaranasiDiaries 🕺

Journey of an Epicurean Cine Trotter continues.. 👣

Thank you all for being a part of our Facebook family - Kolkata Food Trotters ❤️

Kashi chat is the pioneer in serving delicious chaats in varanasi. It is the oldest outlet in varanasi. I loved the chaats at this place. They prepare chaats in pure desi ghee which is the specialty. I like almost every thing that they serve here, however aloo tikki and tamatar chaat are the best.
During winters, they prepare chura matar which is must try. They also serve yummy gulab jamun. ❤️❤️

Visited this place during our visit to Varanasi.
Tried their tomato chat, kulfi, papdi chat, dahi puri and aloo tikki chat.
The tomato chat here is not something to be found everywhere. It is a must try if you are visiting this place.
I also loved the kulfi they serve. It is creamy and not too sweet...perfect to end your 'chaat'y extravaganza.
Vishal Singh
I have no idea why people like the taste or the experience but for me and my wife the taste was as poor as it gets. I guess this place is just famous for the lack of options in the city.
Tanz !!
OMG. ..the life is beautiful with an amazing and drooling and chatpata food...u order whatever and u get it perfect!! Amazing to ur tongue, brain and soul...here is the small shop actually a kiosk right on the crazy messy street ..surrounded by mela but yummiest possible snacking here...can't pinpoint what to miss...take anything and u get it right

THE BEST CHAT EXPERIENCE. Not a single dish that I could possibly say I liked less. Loved their Tamatar Chat, Samosa Chole, Aalloo Tikki, Palak Patta Chaat, Dahi Puri and papdi Chaat.
A must visit place for whenever you are in Benaras.

Whenever I'm in Varanasi I make it a point to visit this chaat house.
It's one of the best chaat shop I have come across in India.
The ambience is very basic. Locating this legendary place is not at all difficult. All the more its on a very busy street which heads to the Ganga ghat.

I have always seen this place flooded with people post 5PM. You may have wait to get your seat but its worth it.

Moi recent order was

Paani Puri
Dahi Puri
Tamatar Chaat
Dahi Bhalla
and
Kulfi Falooda

But my all time favorite has been
Tamatar chaat
Palak chaat and
Aloo tikki
Will recommend these three anyday anytime.

Finding a vehicle parking here is next to impossible especially in the evenings.

If want to taste the real spices of banaras, then visit here.. one of the very famous chaat restaurant in varanasi 😋

This was my first ever visit to Varanasi.
Varanasi is my Grandmother’s hometown and my father was the Student of B.H.U, still never got an opportunity to visit this holy place.

I was so excited for my trip to varanasi with family, wasn’t expecting much except the ganga Aarti, but to my surprise I am in love with the city, it’s food and of course the language 🤗😂
My father is well aware about every nook & corner. He took us to every famous place.
We had amazing amazing tamatar chaat, alloo chaat, chura matar, jalebi at Kaashi Chaat bhandar.
Love everything.
In fact I had tamatar chaat twice 😊
Zeba Aziz
This is the best place in Varanasi for chaats.
My favourite is tomato chat and dahi puri ❤
Definitely recommend this place to all the street food lovers 😍

If you look for food suggestions in Benaras, Kashi Chaat Bhandar will be among the first one to pop up. There is plenty of word of mouth publicity apart from the online reviews. So, armed with all the suggestions of 'must have' items , we reached here on our first trip to Benaras to have the most talked abt item - Tamatar Chaat.

One important point to notice though, Zomato mentions this place on the 'Great Breakfasts' Collection, but it opens only at 3 pm. So, there is no way you can have your breakfast there unless you get up at 2 pm 😛

It's almost always full of ppl, late evening being the busiest time of the day.

It's a small shop and has seating on no less than two floors !! Yes! Still I'm calling it small as it's way too cramped, squeezing 10-12 rows in the space of 5-6.

There is one more advantage of sitting inside. You get to see how they function from close quarters and decide better for yourself. That's what happened with me ! The place is highly unhygienic, the plates are washed in an ultra filthy corner, and the table cloth that they use to wipe tables from has, I guess, been never washed with detergent. Such it the stink! I invoked my 'chatora' self and stood my grounds and ordered the Taatar Chaat and golgappe .

Finally ! All the risk paid off and I had something good to say. The tamatar Chaat deserves all the publicity it has garnered over the time. Ppl come from far and wide to have it. It's served in an earthen Kulhad, that increases it's appeal more. Its a little too oily but you gotta ignore all these barriers 😛😛 golgappe were fine - just what you expect from UP, although not the first rate UP stuff. The real taste of chaat is in UP's Chaat n golgappe and this place doesn't disappoint in that term. Next on my list was Aaloo Chaat but the ppl around me having it already didn't give good reviews and neither did it look very tempting so I gave it a miss and turned to a local for next recommendation , She voted for Chura Matar. It was something I had nvr had and turned out nice. We wrapped the experience up with a gulab jamun.

It's a very affordable place as most of the items are priced at just 35/- RS.

So, overall it worth visiting to have Tamatar Chaat that u can have on the road itself.
Adarsh Kamya
The chat is extremely delicious at a very reasonable and affordable rate. Papri chat, samosa chat, tikki chat, golgappe, gulab jamun and much more to enjoy one of the best Indian snacks with friends and family. The shop is quite old and is famous all over Banaras. The owner and staff is really friendly and everything is prepared clean in front of your eyes and is served well.

A very famous shop in Varanasi.
Went to try it. They have so much rush outside ,we ordered Dahi Bhalla and Pani Puri. Prices were nominal.
Taste was so good. Service was nice . They made all the food items very hygienically.
Should try Atleast once.

Pocket friendly and value for money.
Went here last Sunday and ordered via Swiggy as well.
It's small but clean and has an AC section in the upper area.

Had the foll items :

Tamatar ki chaat
Palak patta chaat
Gulab jamuns
Kulfi
Aloo tikki

The Tamatar ki chaat is spicy.
The gulab jamuns are big n 😋
The Kulfi was yummy and creamy
The Aloo tikkis were crispy and tasty.

My favorite was the Palak patta chaat. Crispy biscuit of Palak patta dunked in dahi, tamarind chutney and no chaat masala made it the winner of the day.

A must visit place when in Kashi.
Anshul Patro
An old chaat bhandar located in the crowded streets of kashi. This place really serves one of the best chaat of kashi. You can visit here after the visit to kashi vishwanath temple. Aloo chaat and samosa chaat was amazing. Do try Tamara chaat as well.

This is one of the most famous and must visit places in Varanasi for street food. Located near Gadowlia Chouraha, it is a very small place with small number of seating arrangement.

We ordered Tamatar Chaat, Aloo tikki Chaat and Papdi Chaat. Needless to say, all of them were amazing but the Tamatar Chaat was outstanding. It is a must try dish here.
Archita Chaudhary
I ordered Pani Puri and Aloo Tikki from here. I have always loved Pani Puri of Kashi Chat Bhandar the fillings are really awesome and the taste of Pani is really amazing it's not spicy but it has a sour taste which is really amazing the fillings are also awesome. I ordered Aloo Tikki and that was also good it was spicy with sweet flavor because if the mixture green chutney, red chutney and curd. I enjoyed it I hope you'll enjoy too❤️

The Best in Varanas!! No Doubt
Kashi Chat Bhandar is an amazing eatery offering a delicious presumé of flavors.
I have been to this place multiple times and it always has been flocked with customers, even late night!! And it is to be expected... If you are visiting Varanas, then definitely try this eatery..
Furthermore it is pretty budget friendly...

Must Try Dishes include
Panipuri, (Savory filling, different from others)
Tomato Chaat (Tamatar) (If you like tomatoes, then you must try)
Aloo Chaat (Tikki) (Favorite of many, including me)
Kashi Chat Bhandar - Varanasi

In our recent trip to Varanasi the city of Lord Shiva, we had a lot of street food and one of the best places is Kashi Chat Bhandar. This place is very close to the main Godaulia chock (which is kind of centre of Old Varanasi).

Varanasi is known for its street food but this place offer you a variety of chaats. we had the following
1. Tamatar chat (Must try)
2. Palak Patta Chat (Must Try)
3. Samosa Chat
4. Kulfi Faluda

Tamatar chat is served in kullad which itself makes it different from others and it has a very unique taste of ghee, tamatar, zeera and is also a bit sweet. Palak patta chart is very crispy and fresh. Even the samosa chat and faluda is something to die for.

Would highly recommend this place if your are in Varanasi.

Overall rating - 4.5/5

So we visited to Kashi chaat Bhandar The place little bit messy at the peak hour and sometimes u have to wait for your turn The Chaat was Ok We like the way they serve Batashe

This place deserve a perfect score. I really want to try this place out as it was so famous and google recommended it. I tried their all chaat, palak chaat 🥰, tamatar chat and pani puri and also the dahi bhalle and I must say they deserve a 5 star. Everytgis was solo good specially the palak chat.
Bilal Alam
A good place to have chat but not the best. Deena is better according to my preference. The sitting portion is very uncomfortable with almost no headroom. I feel suffocated sitting there. Altogether a good place to have chaat.
Sayonee
If you're around Godowlia Chowk, do visit Kashi Chat Bhandar. While chaat corners are plenty in Varanasi, what sets them apart is that little extra something in taste. Their chats are delicious and the chug out the same taste day after day. Head to the top floor (air conditioned!) and you'll be sure to find yourself a place on the top floor as tables go on sharing basis.

P.S. Though all chat items are lovely, I personally enjoyed the Tamatar Chaat a little bit more and so would highly recommend this!

Vinita Rode
Find that this place has excellent rating on zomato so visited here during trip to varanasi.
It was crowded, ambience is simple, place should be more neat and clan.
had samosa chat which was really yummy.
Apurv Singh
For people who want to experience authentic Banarasi chaat, this is the place to go! The aloo tikki, tamaatar chaat and papdi chaat are my favourites. Although, I recommend eating there instead of a delivery.
Arunabhharsh
This place won’t disappoint you. Two items which you should not miss here is the tamatar chat and palak chat.

Tamatar Chat hands down will be the most unique variety of chat you will ever taste.

Service is quick, though you will have to manage eating standing outside since they don't have a big sitting arrangement inside.

I have gone to this place the food is very tasty and specially kulfi faludoo I wish to eat daily from kashi chaat Bandar and every thing of it

It was our(I and my friends) second day in Benares and it delt as if we had been there for months. We had strolled around the ghats, we had experienced the magic of Ganga Aarti, we had had multiple boat rides upon the waters of river Ganga and we had seen more temples, holy men and devotees than we had ever seen in our life before. The city just gets one in sync with their spiritual side.

The food that Benares had to offer was nothing less than the divine atmosphere of the city. There is Chat, there is Thandai, there are Poori Aloo, there are Samose, there is Lassi and what not? Though Chat stands out conspicuously amongst all these dishes. People of Benares can't go a day without Chat and we could understand why after having had lip smacking Chat at Deena Chat Bhandar, a day before. That day we had Kashi Chat Bhandar on our minds for the sake of trying a different outlet. It is equally popular as Deena Chat.

The place was immensely crowded but thanks to our luck were able to secure a table within no time. We ordered six plates of Gol Gappe, two plates Aloo Tikki, two plates Dahi Bhalle and two plates of Tamatar Chat. There were six pieces of Gol Gappe in each plate and were served with Jaljeera water alongside. I popped one in my mouth and it didn't taste that good. The taste was very disappointing and below average. The Tikkis weren't crisp and very mushy in texture. The taste was good but they lacked the essential crispness. Next came Dahi Bhalle. It was the only snack that justified the popularity of the place. It just constituted Bhalle topped with Dahi and Saunth, with some Masala but tasted brilliant. One bite was enough to blow our minds. I could specially go to this shop just to have Dahi Bhalle. Lastly, the Tamatar Chat was served.. The taste of the ghee completely overpowered all other tastes and it felt as if we were drinking oil instead of having a Chat. It was too heavy on the stomach.

As far as my judgement stands Kashi Chat Bhandar stands nowhere near in comparison to Deena Chat Bhandar. After having had such a great time at Deena a day before this was a complete let down. I expected there would be a comparison but Kashi was nowhere near Deena.

KK
An amazing palce to visit after coming from dasasmegha ghat. This place stays crowded so find a place for one first.
Coming to the food who would have thought that tamatar and palak chat were worth trying?
The tamatar chat was amazing, the palak chat again was amazing. The dahi bhallas were also good.
A must visit in varanasi.
Abhijit Agrawal
Easily the best Chaat in town. Only if the place had better seating it would be unbeatable. However, Palak Chaat, chooda matar and aloo tikki are must haves!
Mitesh@desi_global_foodie
Aloo tikki was the best I've had.
Pretty crowded, so taste varies from one plate to another of the same dish, but that's still good.
Hygiene is not something to mention, but can be ignored once for the best taste.

This little gem is hidden in the tiny lanes of varanasi! If you are a chaat lover, you will love this place. It's a small shop which attracts alot of tourists. Being one of the oldest shops, its serves traditional delicious chaat, best being their Tamatar chaat and paani puri. A must visit when in varanasi!

Awesome place with a great price. Loved the food stuffs. They provide great quantity at a cheaper rate. Must visit restaurant. The owner is polite and the staffs are well mannered😊

I went to visit ghat and i came through this place, i already have had chats and golgappa here but for the first time i tried Faluda and it was really awesome. In only 55/- i had those scrumptious faluda. The taste of thick frozen milk, dry fruits and noodles were really delectable.

Note- Eat, taste and review its my mantra. My review depends on the quality of food and its totally about my experience with that particular restaurant.

Tamatar chaat is different and unique. Tangy and sweet taste should be tried. Some may say it's the bhaji of pav bhaji. None the less do try.

Other things to try palak patta chaat and tikki chaat.

Dahi bhalla had a strong flavor of hing. Overall value for money. Dishes are served in kulhad is a great touch

One of the best place for chats.
The place have really delicious kulfi, all the preparations were amazing.
The only problem is the less seating capacity.

Food at Kashi Chat Bhandar was delicious and cheap. I went back a number of times in my stay at Varanasi to work through the menu. Would recommend.

Another chat house after Deena in Varanasi, very difficult to say who is the best as both are equally superb with no compromise on taste, preparation & serving. Both are worth a visit. Without which visit to Varanasi is totally incomplete.
Priya Chowdhary
The best to try out the actual taste of Indian street food/fast food. The place is small but the taste of every dish compensates that. You'll never regret visiting here
Aditi Snehal
Small place very crowded but great taste in chats and kulfi golgappe are a must try specially the tamatar chat great in steet food and definitely when in banaras !!

Must visit place for chaats in Varanasi. Open in the evening. They make awesome Tamatar chaat, Chura matar. Their golgappas are good too specially the paani. The place is cramped and too much crowded. The seating area is a bit claustrophobic. Pricing is reasonable

This is undoubtedly the best chat n golgappa place in Varanasi. With the best and authentic taste, this place gives you the real feel of street food. If you visit this place in evening, then you will probably not find a place to sit. You will have to just stand outside and enjoy the food, but thats the fun of street food :)

If u are in varanasi, must go here.
You will love The Tamatar Chaat.
What I loved was poha, it was prepared in desi ghee. Infact all preparations are in desi ghee. Taste is awesome and so is the crowd.

Awesome place to enjoy chat and pani puris. Seating is an issue here but you wont mind standing on the roadside to have what they to offer. Dahi bhalla, dahi chat, aloo tikki, basket chat are very good. Apart from this also have the gulab jamuns here, they are very delicious.

This is must must visit food joint and it is bit old I suppose but serves the best chat in the area,
As a tourist i found their chat soo delicious,
Must haves 〰️
1. Tamatar chaat
2. Paalak patta chaat
3. Kulfi falooda
And they have wide range of chaats which attract to most people, and diversity of chaats is real not just by name 👍👍
And they serve almost everything in kullad or reusable plates which is really appreciated ✌️

A small place on the super busy Street to Dashashwamegh ghat, always having equal people standing outside at the counter as many sitting inside, this place is too good for chat.

Ambience- I don't even know what to rate. There are small benches inside for seating but we preferred standing at the counter outside, grabbing out our order right there.. 😀 but ambience is not what, one goes there for.

Prices- 3/5- quite economical for chat. Kulfi in the end seems bit expensive.

Quantity- 3/5- we tried almost everything there ( yes we were starving 😉)- the quantity is decent for two.

Quality- 4/5- dahi chat, dahi wada, dahi papdi chat, aloo tikki- too good
Pani puri- ok ok..nothing special

Kulfi- try it without faluda..and it is good..

All in all one stop solution for street chat..!!!

If you are looking for that unique dish of Varanasi head on to Kashi Chat Bandar in Godulia next to Kashi Vishwanath Mandir and taste Tamatar Chat . An concoction of spices and flavours that explode in your mouth the moment you take a bite and enjoy the real Benares . Other unique dishes are the Chura matar and Palak chat .

One of the oldest place to feed your soul. If you're new to the city, you must go here to taste their Tamatar and Chudda Matar. We have a lot of shops in Varanasi who serve yummy chaat but this is really worth the money. The only thing I am concerned about the hygiene of this place. You will never find the place empty. However one has to wait for a few minutes if the tables are occupied. Especially on special occasions, people love going here and they wait to have their favorite items. I had their Pani Wala Golgappe, which was super tangy and enough for my taste buds. I would recommend their Tamatar chat because it's so yummy. No pictures it's a must visit place if you're in Varanasi. :)

Best wishes!

TL;DR Version : Overhyped but easily accessible. If you don't have time to find unexplored places, then just have the Aloo Tikki and Pani Puri. I felt that the Dahi was slightly khatta and hence this spoilt all the dishes with it.

> 🍽️ Food - 3 |
>👨‍💼Service - 4.5 |
>🎶💡Ambience - NA ('coz it's a Chat house) |
> Hygiene - 3 |

> 🍽️ Food - 3

Bhalla Papdi Chaat, Aloo Tikki, Palak Patta Chaat, Dahi Puri, Pani Puri - We had all this amongst the 2 of us because we were running on empty stomachs having skipped lunch and walked multiple ghats.
My friend is one of those who don't really have discerning taste buds and are indifferent in general to the subtleties involved in the flavors of food, and even he was unimpressed by this place.
This supposedly best chat place in town had khatta dahi (sour curd). For me, good dahi is the most essential part of a chaat and hence the Bhalla Papdi, Dahi Puri and Palak Patta chat were a disappointment.
The Paani Puri was good and I liked the masaledaar paani. The Aloo Tikki was piping hot and crisp and can definitely be had here.
Apparently, Deena Chat Bhandar is relatively less famous but offers much tastier fare. Something left for next time, I guess..
|
>👨‍💼 Service - Super quick despite being crowded with folks seated, at the counter and delivery boys waiting for their pick ups.
|
>🎶💡 Ambience - Wouldn't want to comment on the seating/lighting etc as this is a small hole in the wall sort of street food place. It would be unfair for them to be evaluated on this which is not their priority and doesn't even matter to the patrons.
|
> Hygiene - Just wanted to call out that while this is one of the more hygienic shops in the area, a lot of things are still kept in the open and are exposed to the elements.
I ordered kulfi and it was totally rubbish. It was salty instead of sweet. Totally disappointed. I was soo desperately waiting for it and literally spit it out of my mouth.

Well this place is oldest and famous for its chaat and panipuri. This place has its separate fan following among the people who visit to Varanasi. I had almost all the dishes over here and they were awesome and delicious too. Only and only lacking point here is seating arrangement they can't manage the crowd well. Else I have given them 5 star they should work on this

Such an amazing place!
We went for a trip to Varanasi and this place was in our bucket list!!

We tried almost all the chats and other dishes there and each one of them did justice to our taste buds.
Special mention: Tomato Chat, Kulfi Faluda, Dahi Fuchka..

Kashi Chaat bhandar is a small place near the gadaulia chowk with beautiful banarasi chaats and pocket friendly menu. You might not find a place to sit as the place is usually flooded with food lovers and locals.

Try the tamatar chaats and dahi bhalla here. They also serve good golgappas though I have tasted better in Mumbai.

Ambience 6/10
Food 9/10
Location 9/10
Service 7/10

Some place don't need an ambience or great seating to deserve 5 stars and this is one of them.
A small shop on the corner of road, flooded with food lovers. The chats are heavenly.
Just try everything here and you will love it!

Shopping in Gadolia and need a small tasty snack which is under your budget?
Visit Kashi Chat Bhandar, this be the best place where you can taste some amazing variety of Chat, Gol gaape, Dahi puri, Gajar ka Halwa, Gulab Jamun and Kulfi.
If you're visiting Kashi Chat Bhandar for the first time you need to try the Tamatar Chat, Papdi Chat, Chura Matar and Gulab Jamun for the best first impression because you know the first impression is the best impression. ;)
If you have visited Varanasi and not the Kashi Chat Bhandar then you haven't visited Varanasi properly.

Kashi chat is one of the best places to have chaats in varanasi. Their golgappas, tikki, tamatar chaat are all delicious. I also really like the kulfi falooda and gulab jamun.
I only wish they could take more care about the hygiene though.
Rishabh Deo
You will never find 2 flavours elsewhere. Tomato chat and palak papdi chat (both without onion and garlic). Awesome taste in reasonable price. A must have if you are in varanasi

Please work on your packing ... otherwise your food is great...and living upto its name they have made excellent food. This is the only reason I gave them 3 stars....

The best place to have traditional and typical chaat when in varanasi.
Not to be missed, at any cost.
The chaat bhandaar being in the vicinity of the vishwanath temple is a big plus.
All the items available are superb.
The place opens at 4 pm and is flooded till 10 pm.
This is totally one of the best place to have chaat in India it is right rated. However the behaviour of shop owner is full of arrogance. Their Tamatar chaat is probably best.
Shivani Bindal
When you are in Varanasi u can't miss this...!! The tamatar is really mind blowing and I can be a reason of visiting Kashi once again because it's really drooling although I tried few other items also in which palak Chaat was also delicious so I would personally recommend that please do try is this tamatar Chaat at Kashi Chaat bhandaar..!!
Banarasi_chora
One of the world best place to eat chat .I love chura matar, pani puri, gulab jamun, dahi ki pani puri and last but not the least tamatar chat means full dinner. While writing a review i am feeling 😋 and hungry.
Good for pani puri lover.
Hey I am also pani puri lover.

The place is just 3-5 mins walk from Kashi Vishwanath Temple. We get to place without knowing that place is very famous. On seeing Zomato for dishes to try, I came to know.
We tried 3 dishes - Palak Patta chat, Aloo tikki and Tamatar chat.
Palak Patta chat and Aloo tikki was great for me, perfectly prepared and crispy.
Tamatar chat is a bit let down for me as the place is famous for Tamatar chat as per various reviews. For me this item is basically Aloo tamatar sabzi (vegetable) served in Puri Sabzi in North. It's not bad but may a bit over hyped.
Overall it's great place to have some street food specially chats.
Deepak Tulsidas
Top place in Varanasi to try the chat varities. It's a small shop on the roadside and it's crowded at most times. Make sure to visit and try out their chaat items.

Most recommended place in Varanasi. Situated in the heart of the city: Godowlia. One should definitely not miss the chatpati chaat, golgappe and seasonal choora matar. #mustvisit
