Review Itihaas Alley Kitchen - Varanasi

Fantastic experience. A small restaurant tucked in a back alley from Assi Ghat to the Assi road. This unassuming diner is well suited to its location of a quaint street adorned with beautiful wall art - art that you would be surprised to have found in a back alley. Such is this place too. Hands down some of the best Mediterranean food in UP. Not completely authentic but an honest effort with a fantastic taste. What papers over the slightest cracks is the staff's (owner & family) approach. Ever willing to discuss and cater according to specific requests. Indian food is delectable too. Upon nitpicking, only potential concern: it's a relatively small space so if sharing that with a loud family, it may hamper your experience During the wee hours, remains a comfortable place to enjoy a delicious meal in peace.

The place serves pure veg food. The ambience is really good and the quality of food is top notch. The place is run by dolly aunty and it is really good. Fresh food and quality food.

Fantastic place, the waiters are very kind and friendly, the food is delicious and cheap. They also gave us many tips and contacts to organize our trip around Varanasi. Once we found the restaurant we went there every meal we had available. The owners of the hostel are equally fantastic and hospitable. You will find a lot of foreigner as well. Super recommended

It’s family run restaurant, food was very yummy and owner is very attentive. Service, food and rates all are good. I will go back to this place again on my next visit.

The restaurant is located in an alley very close to assi ghat. The ambience is warm and welcoming and not too loud so you get a cozy feeling. I oredered a mediterranean platter and it was fabulous. I felt that service speed was slow. I don’t know the reason but I felt that if the management tries to speed up the service then this place will shine further.

This kitchen has food and lodging facilities. Food is quite good. Interior decoration is well. Parking facilities are available. Wi fi and upi facilities are there. Foreigners also stay there. The hotel has to take more time to prepare food.

Taste gets as homemade as it gets ; specially Indian cuisines. The food is good , not at all spicy and decent quantity however they take their sweet time in service . So got to bear with that , but it’s worth it . The proximity to assi ghat would be the highlight.

The dining options are exceptional. The breakfast buffet was delicious, offering a wide variety of dishes to suit every palate. I also had the opportunity to dine at some of the hotel's restaurants, and each meal was a culinary delight.

We have just had an amazing thali, the place was a bit of a random find for us and we weren't disappointed. The food was so tasty with great flavours and we will definitely come back here . We highly recommend you come and eat here 😁

Service is very good. But food is not so much good. We have taken a veg thali.. chawal was not soft.. raita was not very good. But the mix veg was very good. In another non veg thali, all items were good. But the chicken was a little hard to eat. The ambience was very good. It has wonderful decoration inside the restaurant. The location was also very good. It is just within 100m from the Assi Ghat.

Great place with caring staff. Ate here twice during our visit and both times it was great. The thali is big and give you a good range of flavors. The dal (pictured) was great for my upset stomach (had issues with some different street food). I believe this is a very safe spot to eat and they have a plethora of different foods on the menu (not just Indian).

They had a good environment, the staff was a enthusiastic and a young chap. I had their middle eastern combo. The pita was good, the hummus was tasty. The finger chips was a bummer. Their Lemon soda was really good. Will go there again for sure.

Very large menu but everything on the menu is solid. The Naan and subjis are great and the hosts are very welcoming. They also have a nice clean guest house upstairs. Highly recommend.

The cafe is located near ghat 80 in vaanasi. This cafe unlike others in Varanasi has a little modern touch with dark yellow wall paint, sofa seatings and a black Shiva Art 🎨🎨🎨 on its wall as seen in my post, which I found very fascinating. The staff is small and includes 2 people 😊😊 who run the cafe and take care of maximum chores and 2 to 3 cooks 😊😊😊 who are incredible in their work. You can see them work through a glass window from outside the cafe. The kitchen is really neat and clean. The menu offers variety from Γ la carte 🍳🍳🍳to italian πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•, indian, continental and chinese. The service is really fast and you can enjoy watching television while waiting. We ordered chicken which is my favourite in any form πŸ–πŸ–πŸ– and mushroom paneer masala for my recently turned vegetarian friend @ssoni_chaudhary πŸ˜› The chicken tasted awesome and me and my 3 friends @nitinnitz @singhraghuvansivikas had a feast and a great time there chatting for 2 hours straight. Please visit for a value experience.

It is one of the underrated cafe amidst the lanes of Assi{Shivala}...we liked it a lot... Mediterranean cuisine is one of our most favourite one and we're crazy about hummus and baba ganoush...I tried their Mediterranean Combo platter that consisted of hummus, baba ganoush, pita breads, falafel, fingerchips and salad...Service is neither slow nor fast and is apt according to time needed to make different dishes...The taste of each item in combo platter were amazing esp hummus and bana ganoush...Highly recommended from our end for Mediterranean food.... Appropriate seating space , mostly foreigners crowd can be seen here..

Nice cafe near assi ghaat. They serve good non veg good. Chicken 65 was little disappointing, otherwise naan along with chicken curry and chicken tikka masala was amazing. Try chinese section as well. They serve some good Italian dishes as well.

Walls decorated with the Historic Events and Cosy Atmosphere welcomes you here!
Food~
We tried theri Main Course there and in Starters,We had Noodles and Spicy Baby Corn.
The Food was well cooked and well presented.
Ambience~
This Cafe provides two different kinds of seatings, either you can make yourself comfortable at the Couches there or You can choose the Dining Tables, all upto You!
Service needs to get little quick with this fast pacing world.

Amazing food and great ambience. They take time to serve but that is because everything from the base of the pizza to spring rolls and other accompiments are made fresh , the quality is great the portion sizes are also decent . Overall a good eating experience.

I would have given it a 4 star only if the service would have been fast.

The interiors are great the sitting arrangement is great , the wall paintings are nice, the location is awesome. They play some good music.

The staff is friendly and will always greet you with a smile. This place is nice for Indian food though bit on a costly side but still the food is great.

I have been here thrice and almost all the time the taste of the dishes were good. I would not write more about the indian foods , they are great.

I think this place serves great Mediterranean food , I have had it at few place but until now the best in the city. This platter is enough for a person.

This is a place which you should try. The service is slow so have patience.
