Review Mona Lisa Cafe - Varanasi

SURIT DATTA
Nice place to have your nonveg breakfast or evening snacks. Take the window or outside seat and enjoy the street activities along with your breakfast. Located in Bengali Tola which is very famous in Varanasi. Service is a bit slow but the food is tasty. The ambiance inside the cafe is amazing in both the conditions (Daytime or evening time). I have tasted Sandwich, Pasta Salad and black tea 🍵. The pasta salad was delicious 😋. If you want to enjoy your snacks(nonveg/veg) this is the must visit place for you, but don't forget to take the outside/window seat.

💜cozy environment and international cuisine, chinese korean japanese food! 💜expensive than street food or local restaurants but definitely affordable as tourists, good hygiene and comments overall

Great bakery and pie! Espresso ☕️ is delicious. The prices are really good not too expensive. One suggestion: do not make the pie too hot ! ( in microwave!!! ). For that I give 4 🌟 stars. Great WiFi

Good food, good prices, good atmosphere, good location to the ghats. Love the cafe-meets-art-meets-food variety vibes! My husband and I have been here for breakfast (not pictured) and enjoyed strong americanos with an apple pie pastry. The texture of the pie was more thick like a pastry, than a pie, but the flavor was still decent. Overall rating: 7/10 One of our favorites was an Israeli special they had one day for lunch. Everything on the plate (see photo) was fresh and filling. Overall rating: 8.5/10 Can’t wait to try more on the menu!

Best coffee I've had in over a week of travelling around India. They have a proper espresso machine, and the gentleman knows how to use it. Melbourne quality right here!

Given that it was conveniently located close to my hostel, I stopped several times at Mona Lisa Cafe. During my first visit, a lovely cow stopped by and got some bread from the owners :) The cute café offers different cuisines like Indian, Korean and western as well as desserts. I did not love the Indian dish I ordered compared to other places I have eaten during my stay in the country. I appreciated that they had several vegan options on the menu, including desserts. Apparently they do not use any butter, eggs etc. for most of the cakes. Be sure to clarify though! The service was ok. Prices are reasonable.

Nice place to have breakfast, the menu is complete, they have food from the western and also Indian, fruits, fresh cakes and juices. Their Muesli is absolutely delicious it has big pieces of coconut. Good service, everyone was kind and precise, but when the restaurant is full, the waiting is long. They do not accept cards, just payment in cash.

Situated in a beautiful narrow lane, this is one of the most aesthetically styled cafe. The pastries are amazing as well as the beverages. The ambience is great. The food is priced decently as well. Overall verdict: A must stop for travellers and bloggers! Overall ratings: 8.5/10

As an Italian I've been very happy to have breakfast here, for a slice of cake and an espresso the price was very good. A bit more than a 1,50 euro. Not bad at all. Try apple crumble pie!

One of the best and cheap places to eat in Varanasi! The food it’s really good, I tried Indian food and western food and both of them was really taste. The staffs are really nice, always being friendly and trying to make you fell comfortable. I even got a cinnamon roll as a treat from the restaurant. I highly recommend stop by at this place.

This place has a nice ambiance and good rooftop seating. I had cold coffee and Banana Chocolate Cake slice. The coffee was very nice. Cake slice was kind of dry. The owner is very polite. I enjoyed talking to him.

Discover this place on the first day I arrived and went there every day for breakfast, tea or brunch. Is a hub for met people, chill out and chat. For me worked as a meet point. Visited Varanasi in April, a hot month with temperatures arround 40 degrees, that makes imposible walking on the street before 11AM and Mona Lisa was my fresh escape, spend there many hours to avoid the heat.

Nice place especially when you need a short break from local cuisine. Good coffee. There is a place for some improvements but in general good spot worth giving it a try.
