Review The Coffee House - Varanasi

The food is awesome, the food quantity is highly sufficient, just had a bad experience with their Crispy chilly babycorn. However, Butter rotis, paneer lababdar, mix veg curry and noodles were all good. Had a great time here. Would recommend people staying nearby to visit.

The most amazing Paneer pakotta in all of Varanasi!!! I ordered it every day, because it was soooo good! They have a huge menu - south and north indian cuisine is served. Staff are very tourist friendly.

A retro style restaurant with plenty of vegetarian options available for sorts of cuisine starting from their very special masala dosa, you must try this as they serve with a special meethi chutney which will definitely opens your tasting buds. Idli sambhar is also a good option if you opt for a quick bite. Coffee is also good here

I visited the city and stayed thier for 3 days but I found this place on last day and food was awesome in taste and quantity was also good even the owner of the restaurant was very kind to listen my customisation for the preparation of food . Nice place to sit also

Nice food and nice service. We enjoyed the food, the place was clean and people very helpful. The bathroom is quite far though as you have to get out and take next street.

Look, this place has not changed from past 30 year or so, (they have a very limited scope to do so). Go there - grab a quick bite of extraordinary south indian aka; udupi. There selection of RAWA DOSA is awesome, it is not oily as in other places, well done base, excellent filling. Do not forget to ask for their mouth watering RASSAM. They bring it to you for free!! I still have that taste in the back of my mind. Overall very nice food ( the taste will remain with you for many days). Kindly ignore the ambience etc. Five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for food only.

I had my first dosa ever in Varanasi... And I just got mad...I mean I have never tasted such white chutney anywhere... And Dosa was fantastic too... Highly recommended 😋

Super delicious south indian food

Tasty home like food. Peacfull atmosphere.

For people who like South Indian food but cannot wait much to get a seat this is the place to go. They have two floors so waiting time won't be much. It's not too crowded even on weekends. Must try out in their menu is Rava Masala Dosa and Chole Batura. Their cold coffee is also very nice compared to the pricing. Don't expect too much but overall this restaurant provides the best food compared to their price.

Food in frame ➡️ Idli and Hot Chocolate.<br/><br/>Taste ➡️ Idli was soft and fresh. I liked the richness of Sambhar but coconut chutney disappointed me. It was thick but taste wise not very appealing. Hot chocolate was ok for me. Milk was very light in consistency and I feel they had just put coco powder in it. Nothing like fancy places.<br/><br/>Presentation ➡️ This is a very basic and old coffee house so they are typical with their presentation. Nothing magical.<br/><br/>Ambiance ➡️ Neat and clean. One can peacefully have his/her food. They do accept cash and card as well as paytm. Service time is quick. They do have two storey place.<br/><br/>Child-friendly ➡️ Yes, of course. Pocket-friendly. This is a perfect place for lunch during office hours and evening chai snacks.

Quality of food was bad and dishes had too much of oil and salt in it,spices were not properly grinded kindly look into review and improve the quality<br/>

I've ordered twice from here through a different app and had a pleasant experience with the quality of food. I had Masala Dosas and Banana milkshake on both occasions. Having the latter was a walk down the memory lane for me as I used to have Banana milkshakes during my college. 🙂 Unfortunately, due to distance-compatibility issues, this place doesn't deliver in Samne Ghat-Lanka area currently. It would be nice if Zomato reconsiders its decision and make the aforementioned area deliverable as it's not so far from my area.

Service in the restaurant is tooooo tooooo much poor poor service not referable to anyone food quality is not up to mark we ordered dosa and they delivered me after 45 minutes too late too poor we came first but other costumers come and they dilevered dosa with us so poor I wish they would work for that..........and please don't make a fool to Ur customer......be polite

For a student you won't get a better place for lunch and dinner in such less price. I have been a regular visitor of this place during the end of the months when my pocket was really tight! <br/><br/>I never tried starters I kept my orders simple. Tawa roti, Dal Fry , and Vegetable. You will get a feel of home at this place . The Dal is simple and really very good, In vegetables I have tried almost everything, Bhindi fry is very good , Aloo dum banarsi is good too , Kadhai paneer is the best among all the paneer dishes.<br/><br/>Do not go for Chole and Chana masala! They taste half cooked!(I love this two so I tried them for 3 4 times and it was not satisfactory even once)<br/><br/>The taste is good , but the vegetable and dal gets a bit oily, just mention it earlier to keep it low. <br/>The name The coffee house , but I would never suggest you to try out coffee it's not good.<br/><br/>And this place is obviously not the place you would go for dosa when just a minute away is The Kerela Cafe. I personally did not like the taste of sambhar and chutney . <br/><br/>When it comes to the ambience of this place , it is quite big , two floors of sitting arrangements. The service is fast if their are not many customers. Uncle at the reception is quite welcoming . The waiters sometime may act a bit rude. But when it comes to how much you pay for all the food and services you won't be be disappointed.<br/><br/>P.S. No BHU discount.

I always order their Masala dosa and sometimes Rava masala dosa which is served with sambhar and coconut chutney. I have been to many places in southern India and always missed the authentic taste of south indian dosa. Most of the dosa I have eaten in Varanasi so far are 'nothernized' version of dosa. But I love the taste of the simple masala dosa served here. More than their dosa I love the taste of sambar and chutney. And they are generous in serving sambar and chutney again. I have never ever ordered the north Indian items from their menu, so dont know how good or bad they are, but dosa, idly and vada are top notch. I even went once to Kerela  Cafe nearby, but was not so impressed by their dosa.  I also ordered cold coffee with ice cream and lassi on different occasions, both were good nothing extraordinary.

Rubbish food, staff sucks, non valuable price I seriously suggest u all-"Never go to this shitty place"because they take toooo much time for just a simple cup of coffee, suckers..

Been to this place only once. Ordered mushroom noodles. The food is ample but the taste is very average, nothing to brag about. But the part that annoyed me the most was that the staff absolutely sucked.
