A pleasant atmosphere with good hygiene. I enjoyed the foods provided. The waiter cautioned us that the aloo chaat would not taste like the aloo chat sold on the streets of Banaras, but it was great. When it comes to food, always go with your gut instinct. I must remark that this is a budget-friendly eatery.

Must visit restaurant if you are in Varanasi. Very nice ambience and clean place. Great place to enjoy meal with family and friends. The food is just awesome. Each and every item was mouth-watering. The service might be slow sometimes, but the courteous behaviour of the staffs makes up for it.

This place has very nice decor and I think they also have very nice and obedient waiters. You can get both vegetarian and non vegetarian items here. I like the crispy babycorn available here , I suggest you must try this starters. This place is good for going on date , the girl must get impressed by such an nice decor and food. The price is high but quality is also good.

This is a review of the 'Dawat Restaurant' in the ground floor of Hotel Ganges Grand...i see a lot of conflicting pictures on this marker that's why i wanted to clear things before reviewing... The ambience is pretty good and the food is fantastic...had murgh makhani like that after a long time...the other items were equally great...the staff is well mannered..So, overall I would say that I really enjoyed dining at this place...

Visited on one or my trips to Varanasi. One of the best places and easy to locate as it is in thr middle of the market. Went there with my family and ordered Chilli Panner, Chicken Tikka, Tarkari Handi (Mix Vegetable), Dal Makhni Roti and Lassi.
Food was prepared fresh and hot, Servicing was fine, it was very crowded and some dishes were not available, still the food was served was the best and tasty. Will be looking forward to visit again on my next trip to Varanasi.

Horrible place. Staff behavior is as if they are providing food for free. Zero service, extravagant pricing

Order a Special Sundae along with fresh lime soda here. The sundae came in with 1 scoop each of chocolate, butterscotch and strawberry ice cream with apple pieces on the side of the glass. It was good, however they took quite a bit of time for serving it.

It's a welcoming and quiet place at the crowded Gowdolia Crossing and is sure to catch your eye in the middle of all the never ending chaos if you are looking for a decent place to sit and eat.

We went in for dinner completely exhausted looking to have a break from the Chaat overdose of Benaras. And we were not disappointed. We ordered a simple Tadka daal, Dum Aaloo, Missi Roti and Tandoori roti with boiled eggs.

It took the time any freshly prepared meal might take and all the items were very satisfactory except the Dum Aaloo. The service was nice. And the ambience was relaxing, offering a view of the outside chaos if you choose your seat near the window.

We decided to turn up for the breakfast as well which was highly affordable. It was unlimited buffet. If you choose wisely, you will be very pleased afterwards.

For next meal, again we ordered the same daal accompanied by salad and requested for a simple Jeera Aaloo dish which wasn't on the menu but they obliged us and the entire meal was very filling.

We left pretty happy with the experience at this place . And the best part is that it doesn't even make a hole in your pocket.

Quality food with adequate quantity.
Just one suggestion: the grilled chicken in red wine sauce needs to be less tangy and also the taste of the chicken got lost due to excessive sauce addition.

I was startled by the recommendations shared by my friends for this place and decided to have dinner there.

Ambience - A neat and clean place but not well managed with tables layout. Coud have been better.

Service - Absolute horrendous experience, it took minimum 25 mins for a dish to serve. I did my shopping from market and came back. The service was indeed a part which need immediate fix.

Food - not good, not upto mark. Was disappointed with chef special.

Horrible service, even appetiser will take half hour plus and it doesn’t even taste good. I am surprised to see them open. They have 10 people working and even with an empty restaurant there is no service because their complete staff is just busy talking to themselves.

The place has a great ambience and not so great food !
Ordered Paneer Kadhai but it wasn't spicy even a little bit ! There was a daal tadka on the table as well which seemed just okayish but didn't appear to have the kind of standard it intends to portray from its ostentatious interiors ! 3 for food and 5 for ambience.

Not the greatest, but certainly not the worst. I ate here many times because I stayed in the Ganges Grand hotel for nearly 3 weeks. The service at Dawat was consistently polite and the food generally prepared as I ordered. Being concerned about the possibility of contracting stomach problems, I was never too adventurous in sampling all of the items on the menu, and the staff were very cooperative in assuring that my meals were thoroughly cooked and then microwaved twice (per my request) in order to eliminate any organisms that might give me trouble. This worked out well until the night I ordered tandoori chicken (not pictured below). My troubles started the next day, prompting me to take the azithromycin my doctor prescribed. The thought of that meal still causes me to experience PTSD. Unfortunately, I may never be able to eat tandoori chicken again.
