Review The Eatery - Visakhapatnam

This restaurant is within the premises of Four Points by Sheraton Hotel near waltair main road. There is ample parking space for four wheelers. The restaurant provides buffet lunch, buffet dinner and Sunday brunch. We visited the restaurant on a weekday buffet lunch with a tariff around 1170 rs per person excluding tax. The ambience is cool and well lit which helps in augmentation of apetite. The staffs are courteous, polite and professional. The buffet spread mainly focuses on continental and oriental dishes. Starting from soup till desserts, every preparations were superb. In a nutshell, the spread consists of salads, sandwiches, two soups, four starters, oriental main course, continental main course, south Indian main course, fruit platter, desserts and hot beverages. Alcoholic beverages can be added also with an extra cost. Grilled veg and non-veg sections were top notch. All ingredients were felt fresh, appealing to taste buds and light on stomach. The price of the spread was aptly justified by the quality of food and service the restaurant offer. Undoubtedly, one of the finest buffet spreads of Vizag. Overall verdict- definitely recommended.

A great place for a buffet in vishakhapatnam. Went there on a weekend so it was totally packed. Managed to get a table after a short wait. The buffet spread was really impressive. A wide variety of options covering several cuisines, and everything I tried tasted great. The appetizers and desserts are definitely the stars of the show. Main course was decent. Only downside for me was the very limited choice in availability of beer. Other than that, everything else was top notch. I'd rate it 8.5/10

Good option for a breakfast buffet. A huge variety of dishes are available in the buffet. Nice positioning of seats. The juices could be better. Service is a little slow but polite. Will cost 590 INR for one. Must visit for a rather luxurious breakfast.

Stayed at Four Points for a few nights. The Eatery is an excellent restaurant. Akshay was particularly helpful on all days taking care of special requests from my son. Very good ambience.

I have been in Pune at eatery the options were quite less there in vizag they had little more. I didn't like the way they served cocktail in glass of shots was a bit disappointed. If you wana order from the menu options aren't much available and order takes time.

I'd heard a lot about their lavish buffet, but I couldn't obtain it because I arrived late to the restaurant, which was about to close. I had placed an order for jeera rice, butter paneer masala, sizzler salad, and daal makhani. The paneer was great, the salad was delicious, but the daal makhani was overly creamy, much creamier than it needed to be.

Quality of food was good but the quantity is very very less... Price is also too high when compared to mid segment hotels... Interiors was too good

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights! The only 5 star hotel probably with no whims! The rooms are spacious. The staff is warm, and services impeccable. The pool is super nice. Uttarakhand cuisines are must try call, Though you won't find it as delicious as ur home cooked food, But fair enough to remind you the blues.

The staff is very warm and the food is lip smacking. The ambience is good and the eatery is filled with happy vibes. Id like to go back again and again.

A lunch at The Eatery is everything you should dread. We thronged this place for their famed “Maharaja Thali”. Their King must be a hood rat that can’t tell caviar from crap. <br/>They should get some credit for serving consistently stale dishes across the entire thali. Fish was oily, meat was chewy and veggies were bland. Their laddoo can serve as a rock if a riot broke out. It felt like flavor was foreign to their chef. Unpalatable was the theme of the day.<br/>Service and hospitality followed the same suite. The staff were untrained and disconnected. They were all over the place even though there weren’t many customers. It felt like we became invisible right after they brought food. Every request had to be repeated at least thrice to different people before it got fulfilled. They took a whole half hour to just bring the check. A noisy corner fan was just another insult to injury. I asked for the manager who apparently ran out to run an errand during business hours. I left my number and am yet to hear back.<br/><br/>The Eatery is a royal mess on all fronts. Take your money and happiness elsewhere!

Recently had an maharaja thali which can't eaten by one , but the hotel people recognised and understood . The maharaja thali can eaten by two persons , food is ok severd with two chicken items, one fish, egg curry and reaming all are veg curries, fries , three flavour rice's, bread basket, three sweets papads and pickles . It's an one time try thali . But first timers will enjoy it alot

A decent place for family lunches and time together,lots of offers on food and alcohol,loved the ambience and the poolside.

The eatery at Four Points by Sheraton is one of the few round the clock fine dine restaurants in Vizag,this is located towards the left after entering the hotel.<br/>The ambience is good and the seating is plush letting people savour their meals in comfort.<br/>Talk of food, the restaurant is known for its breakfast menu, continental food and we were there to try out their newly launched Maharaja Thali, the thali consists of several nonveg and vegetarian dishes served in a huge thali,there is a bread basket provided in the thali.<br/>For the mains there are about 3 non veg gravies consisting of Chicken Tikka masala,Fish pulusu and Chicken fry, in the veg we have panneer mutter, gobi fry and an assortment of dals, for the rice we were served jeera rice, plain basmati rice and another flavoured rice and 3 desserts that keep changing.<br/>Things I like about the place:<br/>Ambience,<br/>Seating,<br/>Variety of food,<br/>Pool side<br/>*What can be better*:<br/>The thali in which food is served- you can't call it Maharaja when you serve it in a normal plate.<br/>Service - surprisingly the service seemed dull for such an amazing property<br/>No welcome drink/mocktails or even Masala Butter milk included in the thali.<br/>Will I get back to this place- yes they have amazing offers on food and alcohol throughout the week and some amazing club nights on Friday,Saturday and an amazing Sunday Brunch by the poolside with unlimited beers and IMFL at great prices.

I was recommended this restaurant by several people, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with the quality of food, service and overall vibe of the restaurant.<br/><br/>We had the bamboo chicken which was good.<br/><br/>We also had the jhinga kadi patta, which was absolutely awful , the prawns was over cooked, dry and smelly.<br/><br/>Disappointed.<br/>Will never visit again.

Food is good here. But few things can be improved like veg curries. Soup also can be better. Instead of plain pineapple halwa they can sooji to it which will add more taste. Rest all good

The attitude of the servers were good. Ambience is also good. But they need to improve the quality of food and the way they maintain the tables. Flies were everywhere and the table was cleaned with a smelly cloth which got that smell all over the table. I ordered crispy lamb and it had no salt in it. Non veg thali was good. Bamboo chicken and the mutton bryni was good. The hot and sour chicken soup was not upto the mark. Didn't expect such negative points from a 5 star hotel especially when we go there only sometimes for occasions.

Outstanding, Chicken cooked in Chorcoal by putting inside the Bamboo. VANJARAM FISH.....Fresh caught fish made in freshly grounded Andhra spices, was excellent. PRAWNS GHEE ROAST..... perfectly roasted crisp prawns.<br/><br/>NATU KODI KURA....a traditional country Chicken curry served with Rice and Chapattis. I loved every morsel I ate here really.<br/><br/>We tried some of the local cuisine of the region starting from Bamboo Chicken named as Bongulu Natu Kodi which is cooked in traditional style by marinating Chicken for a minimum 6 to 8 hours and then cooked on coal inside a bamboo were its cooked with the juices of bamboo n no water is used. It was awesomely delicious and spicy. Prawn Ghee roast was nice crisp and quite flavour full with a nice aroma of curry leaves.<br/><br/>Freshly caught Vanjaram fish was wrapped in again freshly grounded Andhra spices and full fish looked nice n tempting and for us North Indians less bones are better and easy to eat n we enjoyed it thoroughly.<br/><br/>Traditional Chicken Curry made in Andhra spices was great with steamed rice and chapati. Loved the aroma of fresh spices in each dish.<br/><br/>Dessert was also made in local style with gulab jamun served with rabri.<br/><br/>

I was a bit disappointed with the place. They barely had any sea food dishes and the food arrived a little late. The quantity of food was up to the mark and the service too. Really polite people and a pocket friendly place too. The ambiance was not as impressive.

This place has amazing food !!! If you don’t watch what you are eating, you will be heavier by a few pounds in no time . Breakfast is like heaven !!! The chutneys are mind blowing . I remember having the most amazing gulkand Gulab Jamoons.. pure bliss !! The only drawback is that if you order something custom made other than the buffet like pasta , it can take a while .

Ambience is pretty good . Food isn’t great , comparing the food to the hotel it’s not worthy and taste isn’t great like we expect . Better not to try alacarte anytime . Buffet is available only on some days and starters in the buffet are good and main course and the desserts aren’t what you expect . There’s no valet parking being a 3 or 4 star . <br/>

Regret! No one cared to attend us while we were leaving. The moment we made the payment the person disappeared. A basic dish like curd rice had no taste. When asked for chicken pasta fried noodles we were served a nest of crispy noodles with turmeric ONLY garnished with coriander.<br/>The buffet counters were shabby and dishes were not replenished. Everything what we ate from buffet was cold.<br/>Pay for something like this is pinching.

Just back from a dinner date with wife... The kitchen team deserves a kudos. We went there for the uttarakhand food fest and where satisfied. The sore point is of the F & B dept and restaurant management. Far from satisfactory!!! F&B Manager, please pull up your socks. The service is atrocious. We had to literally beg and wait for water to be served. And when it came, it was not cold and seemed served direct from the municipal taps. Table management needs loads of improvement.... The previous food scraps aren't removed and new plates are placed!!! Sans cutlery!!! Had a very bad experience when it comes to comparing with the bill. Not expected of such a famed chain of hotels. Please improve. Would have been a better experience had we opted for Paradise or for that matter Tycoon/Heritage...<br/>Sad to have chosen this hotel today.<br/>Thanx to the chef for a hearty uttarakhand fare though. Great Ambience with subtle music. Good service. Food order included Kashmiri mutton soup, Thai green curry, lamb in black pepper sauce along with rice assortments and drinks. Delicious and well cooked.

Went to The Eatery for Sunday lunch. The food was good but service is mediocre. It will be 1 before everything is ready. So if you want to have an early lunch, this is not the place to go.

Had breakfast here in 31 December. While the hospitality and service we good, food can be better. About a couple of dishes were noteworthy - Cheesy Sunny Side Up, Masala Dosa and Mini Stuffed Parantha.

Simply the best buffet available in Vizag. Specially you should visit during special events where exciting offers are available. Been there twice and extremely satisfied with both food and drinks quality.<br/>Special mention about my favourite chef Mr. Ranjeet there , he is always there to help you out with the best dishes. Also there's introduction of live kitchen where you can order the dish you wish to have in your own choice of gravy. Don't forget to visit here if you are in Vizag and want some good food.

Things seemed to have changed and I think for the better ever since this place has been taken over by a completely new management. I paid a few visits here a long time back and though the hospitality was good, everything else per me was not up to the mark. At least not what one would expect of a Sheraton property.<br/>I recently ventured to try this place out again and while it did not blow my mind away, it was not a disaster either! The interiors have been given a top up and look better now. We opted for the buffet and there were the usual varieties you find in most places. The spread was not a big one when compared to the price but the quality was consistent unlike in the past. The point to be noticed here is that they keep the food in brass/ iron vessels and the lids are pretty heavy which might make it a tad uneasy for some people, especially ladies and children.<br/>The hospitality is good keeping in mind the type of property we are in. Go here for a relaxed brunch or a lazy dinner and while it certainly has it's work cut out to catch up with some of it's peers in town, it's worth a shot!

The hotel is really good.The manager's here are very friendly as i wanted to have a small cake cutting session and Mr.Bhanu Prakash helped me out in making that function successful. Even the food taste good but the quantity is less as compared to other hotels.

Truly a hidden gem,nestled within Four Points by Sheraton , in Visakhapatnam this restaurant serves morning breakfast for the resident guests, lunch and dinner buffet with option for Ala Carte.<br/><br/>Eatery is a celebration because most of the time when we visit a place for eating the ambience and people ignite our gastronomy much before we are introduced to the rendezvous with cuisine.<br/><br/>This place is an expert of coastal cuisines including fusion food and you must try their tandoor fish served in sizzler modern fusion with a sumptous accompanying vegetables and a slice of lemon.<br/><br/>My spouse and I ordered a Vegetable Hakka Noodles ( Four Points Special ) with Mixed Vegetable with Garlic sauce in the lunch , and was awestruck to find to our delight that the Hakka Noodles is cooked with precision level Brand Artistry, great on Aroma and very low on oil.<br/><br/>The vegetables in garlic sauce was also evenly balanced and we found the portion quite good and the price tag very reasonable when compared to the quality delivery.<br/><br/>I was more surprised to see that a Guest Manager followed us to the lift and took a detailed feedback on how my spouse and I felt about the food.<br/><br/>In the dinner, we made our space by the small pool side where they allow guests to be served with a romantic candle light ala carte dinner. Though the buffet option was equally attractive to gastronomy we decided to settle for a customised dinner to suit our tummy safely.<br/><br/>The non veg kebab platter has a portion of the fish,poultry and mutton and is a must try with a<br/>small portion of basmati rice and spoons of curd.<br/><br/>To balance out we ordered a oriental style cooked green vegetables and it was truly a delight and justice made both to the tongue and the intestinal health.<br/><br/>Eatery@ Simply Great wholesome experience. Waste food,,quality is there but no taste please don't go there if you want to enjoy the taxes are very high our family went there (6 members) the bill should be only 6000 rupees but after they included taxes it was 8500 rupees please don't come here

Overall a good place. Been here 2 times .once in 2016 before renovation and recently this month. They removed the top floor dining and using only for functions or thats wat we are told. Before renovation its better.Also most people just eat buffet and the waiters forced us...which is funny. Overall very nice quality food ,freshly made will be served. Staying there will be wonderful experience.

Loved their breakfast. They have all types of cuisine..I had English breakfast while they also had north Indian and south Indian variety. The service was amazing. The wait time was almost nil for anything we ordered. Would recommend it to everyone.

This place has been recently revamped after the management has changed. The ambience is very subtle and elegant.<br/>They have a variety of dishes on the buffet menu, and they also handcraft any of the dishes as per your request. Very friendly staff.

One of my favorite place in vizag. I have a fixed menu everytime I come to eatery. It starts with a single malt, then some prawn jhinga nisha, Malabar paratha and the delicious Andra chicken. The place just went under renovation and now it looks extremely pleasant. The only downside being the pricing.

We had a lunch buffet poolside on Sunday here.. they have a good spread but less number of varieties.. I like chicken starter and crispy corn the most among them.. they have less number of deserts and not properly organised.

I'd visited the hotel on some business and was standing in the lobby when I spotted the restaurant on the side. Walked in to have a look, and then decided to sit down and have dinner. It wasn't the best decision I made that week. Of course, the service and the staff were fabulous, but the food was just not of the quality I was expecting from a top hotel in Vizag. And I felt all the more bitter when I was presented a bill of Rs. 1,200/-.<br/>UPDATE: I've eaten at this hotel twice now, and both times, the experience was shit. Isn't Sheraton supposed to be an international brand? The problem is that I walked in with high expectations. Serves me right for equating reputation with quality. My advice to the people responsible for the food here is to buck up and stop resting on the brand's laurels, because the standards of Hospitality in Vizag are on the rise.

During my recent visit to Four points by Sheraton at Visakhapatnam to host an official party for my managers and colleagues, I was truly overwhelmed with kind of hospitality extended by the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager of one of their restaurant 'the Eatery'...Mr. Bhaskar Das and his key team member Mr. Swagatam Ghosh...<br/><br/>Both of them exceeded customer expectations with an outstanding display of what I term as 'Hospitality from the Heart'....<br/><br/>They performed their duties to their utmost efficiency in areas of knowledge, communication, personal appearance, responsiveness to ever changing customer needs....<br/><br/>Hats-off to their level and quality of customer service...way to go Bhaskar Das, Swagatam Ghosh, Anibrata Basu(Duty Manager) and Sagar Gaonkar (Rooms Division Manager)....

I am giving low rating for this since I saw rats running around tables.<br/><br/>Food wasn't exceptional but decent enough. Prices are on bit higher side.

As friends mentioned in their comments, Not much spread in the buffet. <br/><br/>As a vegan I can feel this very strong. Had a buffet with my clients here. They should consider placing more staff on the floor at dinner times. <br/><br/>Hospitality was great but they couldn't serve the items which they've offered to bring at the table. We waited for 20 min for the Rotis, 15 minutes for the starters. <br/><br/>Starters should be ready to be served right!! .. Who wants to wait for the starters. We've opted for buffet because we thought we can wrap the dinner session fast. <br/><br/>Breakfast: <br/>Good South Indian Menu. <br/>Croissants - Please do not make it if you cant make it perfect. Hard, Tasteless. <br/>Donuts - Same as croissants - Hard and Tasteless.<br/><br/>Fruits - Lesser options. <br/>Milk - Good. <br/><br/>Satisfied with the Breakfast. Infact Breakfast was better than the Dinner.

Been here with a friend for a casual dinner. We went for buffet. The spread was disappointing. Salads were not great. Main course was decent. Choices for desert was again disappointing. Not worth for its price tag.<br/> I do not recommended this place.

Very poor buffet spread for a Star hotel. Ambience was okay but there were not many items in the buffet. Its overpriced too. You can get a larger buffet spread with that money. The staff were good.

A very mediocre place to eat, considering it is in a Sheraton property makes it a big issue. Not too much variety on the buffet menu. Wouldn't suggest this place to anyone.

Very bad. Went for lunch buffet ..There was nothing in the menu . No biryani it seems for lunch buffet, no proper non veg curry had to survive with pulusu chicken which was awful <br/>No roti or naan served until asked for. Desserts limited. Cost was high food was awful . Not worth the money .Better go for some other affordable restaurant and khao pet bhar ke ..

5***** 2wheeler UNFRIEDLY HOTEL. Go there on a 2 wheeler and get insulted. Security will humiliate you and not allow you to enter. 2 wheeler guys are second rate patrons. They only want Audi and BMW. Reasons given are frivolous and varied. One guy says we don't allow 2 wheelers inside, another says we don't have parking space. After much argument a third guy says it's inconveniently located in the basement. Who the hell do they think they are. A dump full of crap.

Nice ambience .. way better than The Park and i have been here on several occassions and food never disappointed me hea :-) nice place for fun and food

There's a brilliant look and feel if you are looking to have food in a place devoid of noise. Some of the best dishes were the Durbari Kofta Curry and the Bhindi Jaipuri as part of the buffet offered. The Espresso Tart in the dessert section takes a special mention. Not a lot of coffee there but a subtle tinge of cocoa for the cake and well presented work there. <br/><br/>If you are prepared to shell out some money, its probably one of the best!

Wow things change! You can read my earlier review when i gave it a 4, but now it does not even deserve a 1.Well the food has been on a downhill slope for a long time, the quality started getting bad and also the variety in the buffet reduced. Who likes to go and make their own salad? We visit a restaurant because we want food to be served not because we have to make it ourselves. The new management has also made things worse, atleast for now hopefully things change, but it is a waste of money going here. I regret criticizing Novotel earlier,but they have kept a standard and have even slightly improved.<br/>Earlier ReviewThe best food you can find in the City..Way better than Novotel,but the sad part is,the service quality is poor especially the number of waiters.. The Chef's are really good,a good overall experience,love visiting the place,maybe a little more variety and an increase in number of options available should be done..

Very sad place. Small and limited buffet options. Food tastes very very mediocre for the price they charge. Have been there a couple of times and it was sub-par both the times. There are better buffet places in vizag and cannot give one great reason why you should go here.

The perfect place for a peaceful meal.. A really great atmosphere to have a fun time with friends and family.. Great food.. The salads are great

We went to this restaurant on 13th June when the "Seemandhra festival" was going on.<br/>The seating is quite ok and the place is good. <br/>All the items were tasty and none of the items was overly pungent so everything could be eaten by all.<br/>There were also 2 dishes for Russian people  on the buffet and we could also take if we wanted.<br/>The waiters were courteous.<br/>The place is worth a visit again and I will definitely try other restaurants in this hotel.
